Alright, I'm working on an idea I have, but I have a couple questions about tech, etc.
First off, what's the situation with Communications? Are long-range FTL communications a thing? Or are "Courier Ships" needed to pass news between star systems? If FTL communications are a thing are they instantaneous, or limited to the same 5 lightyears/day speed limit as ships? If it's not a thing, would it be a potential unique technology, e.g. quantum entanglers or warp transmission bouys?
Second, how do we feel about Warp Disruptors? I'm thinking a potential technology that using the same principles as a warp drive to create space-time ripples that would "pop" or disrupt warp bubbles within a radius of a couple AU. The obvious downside would be that it disrupts ALL warp in the areas, friendly and unfriendly, and you'd probably have to wait a while after turning it off to warp safely.
