It is a little past lunch now and things traffic wise have cleared up. Granted, there is always traffic in Justice, it just comes with living in a big city but things are moving as well as can be expected. The day is a little hotter than most would like, unseasonably warm at this point and humid. The skies seem clear but if you have lived in the city longer than a week you know that might not last. Late afternoon thunderstorms are common this time of the year. Summer is starting soon after all. The heat, the humidity, the possibility of storms doesn't do anything to keep the crime of Justice at bay though. Which is becoming very apparent as the hours and minutes tick by.
@Dragoknighte - The kid on the bus, he is driving people nuts. That much is obvious and the looks people are shooting the guy are getting more and more aggravated. Some have voiced their want for him to shut that damn thing off but he doesn't listen and only turns up the volume that much more. One
man has had enough. He gets up out of his seat, palms a glock in his hand and bashes the guy in the face, knocking him out cold and causing him to slump unconscious in his place. Reaching down he turns off the obnoxious noise before sitting down as if nothing even happened. The busy driver just keeps moving the vehicle forward in the traffic until he comes to the next stop. The man who knocked the other guy out stands up and hops off the bus; at your stop.
@Nallore - The guy takes the money and gives you a nearly toothless grin before running off and into the local package store. Doesn't matter, he is gone and your windows... well he did a shit job. But doesn't matter; keep driving. As you do, you see a strung out looking
man hopping off a bus and heading down the street towards Boston Heights while shoving a glock into the back of his back before pulling his flannel shirt over it to hid it.
@Pundii - "I will, thank you," she said as she takes the card and took a look at it. Slipping it into her pocket she gave him a weak smile as he finished his coffee before showing him to the door. It was obvious that she had had more of her fill of people around her home right then. Outside things seem quiet, well as quiet as they can be for Justice. Might be a good idea to get wherever you are wanting to go rather quickly before it isn't so quiet.
@Scallop - The officer looks over towards you as if you are nuts. "It wasn't a murder, it was a suicide," he states before shaking his head. It was obvious even he didn't believe that but that was what he was told to say and he keeps repeating that, followed by the usual no comment after that. The news crews are starting to show up. It seems they want to know even more now that Lyle is dead. The barricades are still partly up, so that is keeping some back. The cop grumbles as he steps forward to keep them from entering the buildings.
@Morose @POOHEAD189 - Gregory glances at the files but didn't get a chance to say anything as his phone rings. Answering it he scowls deeply. "Listen, I already have two cases in my hand. Can't you all handle this one? You know the drill. I dunno, find that asshat Wallace and make him get to work, Cecily is busy right now," he spat into the phone before stopping in his pacing tracks and looking over to Cecily and Tank slowly. "Right... I got it... be there in twenty," he added before hanging up the phone and stepping over towards the two. "Well, I know where Wallace is..."
Risa Couri
Location: The U.N.
Risa had to bit the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing at Lucas's comment and the look he received from the security guard. The man eyed him for a minute before looking over at Risa, as if he was expecting some sort of an explanation.
"Oh he's got a sharp tongue but he's harmless," she said as she shot Lucas a glance.
"Be that as it may, right now we are on tighter lock down. He will have to wait in the lobby," the man said and Risa nodded slowly before taking her things and turning towards Lucas. It was only her first day, she wasn't about to start manipulating people to get him inside just yet. She would wait until it was really needed, or when she really wanted to screw with someone. Whichever came first.
Walking over to the lobby area with him she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
"I'll make this as quick as possible. I promise," she said before darting off. She knew how bureaucratic the U.N. could be but she also knew she could take care of things quickly if she pressed hard enough. She wasn't about to leave him alone waiting on her any longer than she had to. He had had to wait half the day yesterday on her during her flight delay.
Moving over and making her way passed security she headed down to the human resources department. Thankfully the
woman stuck there was nice enough, older. She talked a good game, and helped Risa move through the paper work and needed image taking for ID's as quickly as possible. What had taken her hours after hours usually was done in a little less than sixty minutes. Coming out she had to make one more stop according to the security guard she had spoken with when she arrived but she waited since things had gone so quickly in human resources.
Rushing out she made her way over to the lobby area carrying a snack and a bottle of water in her hand. Smiling she walked over to Lucas, her heels clicking on the marbled tile as she did.
"One part done, one to go. Figured you could use this just in case this takes longer than I would like," she said as she set them down on a table next to him. Leaning over she gave him a quick kiss, her new id hanging from around her neck before she had to go again.
Taking a breath she straightened out her outfit a bit, made a quick turn and a wink before darting off once again. She hoped things would go as smoothly as with human resources. She wanted to get out of there and enjoy the city, see the sights, check out a few things. Not be stuck inside a building all day. Granted, she wouldn't complain too much. Heat and humidity were hell on her hair.
Stepping into the elevator she hit the button for her floor and looked around, the music playing was the usual easy listening instrumental junk. Looking down at her watch she checked the time before the doors opened, taking a breath she stepped forward to make her way towards the room she had been told to go to. That was until the building suddenly shook and she slammed around the hallway wall and fell to the ground. Looking up suddenly she wondered if it was an earthquake but that sharp jolt didn't feel like any earthquake she had ever felt before. Coming outside of the underground parking deck for the U.N. building a flash of fire, smoke and debris came rushing out of the entrance.
Dj Lawson
Location: Pier 23
"I might be knowing a couple of folks. Will give them a call for ya Sir and let ya know," Lawson said in a kindly southern way as he nodded. He did know of a few people but they were probably not exactly the type of men that he thought that Caesar would want to willingly be around, but maybe they could tell him some people that were on the up and up. He doubted it but hey he was trying to get in good with Cookie and Cookie worked for Caesars daughter. Might as well make the effort.
He couldn't help but smirk a bit as he watched the old man go creepy with Lana. Just standing there and cupping his hand over his mouth. He couldn't fault the guy, Lana was a pretty well carved out piece of cream cheese in his mind and he doubted that she would have any problems dealing with Caesar.
Stepping over he looked at the bike, he never got peoples love of motorcycles. Couldn't put a dead in the back, so what was the point. It didn't seem that Lana was going to stick around though. He was handed a file, told he would be contacted later and the girl was gone. Lawson shook his head a bit confused. She had seemed so adamant about meeting up but he wasn't going to ask. She didn't hide the fact that she was handing a file over to Lawson right in front of Caesar so Lawson didn't think anything of it and curiosity got the better of him as he flipped open the file and took a look at it standing there next to the man.
"What had Marlestone gotten his self into?" he muttered to himself as he read over the file. This was not what he was expecting at all.
