Cecily Ashworth

Location: Coroner's Office

Cecily raised an eyebrow. While she was relieved that Wallace wasn't dead, she could hardly claim to care about the man personally. It more reassured her that no one had decided to target each and every employee of the coroner's office, as she had suspected for a moment.

"You've got to learn to deliver news like that better," Cecily quipped, eyeing Gregory. "You made it sound like he'd kicked the bucket last night."

However, she couldn't deny that her interest was piqued. There was always a chance that Wallace could have been muttering something important, rather than his usual nonsense. Instantly, her mind kicked into overdrive, pondering whether or not Wallace could have been pushed down the stairs, rather than fall. She shook her head slightly, admonishing herself. Not everything was attempted murder. Accidents were still possible.

Pondering Gregory's offer, Cecily instinctively glanced down into her pocket where her phone remained. She'd have to call Caesar back at some point today, but with each minute, more cases appeared for her to work on. I guess I won't be able to see Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 today either... She paused a bit, an idea popping into her head. Perhaps she could kill two birds with one stone. In all the comic books she read, it was crucial to do these sort of meetings in a public place--why not a movie theater?

"Sure, I'll tag along," Cecily answered, smiling a bit. "Maybe the old git knows something important for once." She sighed slightly, her smiling vanishing as talk went back to the gun. She shook her head morosely, biting her lip. "It's gone...But I'm positive the guns are identical, if not one and the same."

Riley Ridgeway

Location: Outside of Boston Heights

Riley raised an eyebrow towards the man and nodded slightly it was true that she had died she was right there and pretty much all of Boston Heights was there to witness it. "I was actually there last night, even got hit by some of the debris from her body landing on the table." Riley said as she moved some of her hair to reveal the bandage on her head from the night before. "Did you know Danica at all by any chance?" Riley asked, she hadn't known Danica all that well she remembered seeing her going out on some runs along the sidewalk. But other then that she never really knew her and she felt bad for the girl.

"I'm Riley Ridgeway by the way, and you are?" Riley asked trying to be as friendly to him as possible, she knew about the gun tucked behind his shirt but she didn't want to make the man to unstable. "Maybe I could get you something to eat or drink? I live in the Classic Building behind me." Riley said pointing towards the building behind her.

Joseph 'Tank' Cooper

"Jesus Greg," Tank said, his tone a bit hard, though he started chuckling a moment later. He shook his head at the whole thing. Wallace had probably tripped on something knowing him. Tank doubted the guy could trust his own feet, let along his mouth. That was why he decided to head with Greg and Cecily. Tank gave a nod to confirm he'd tag along. The day was still young, and Wallace might say something warped enough to be useful. He let out a sigh, and started to follow Greg.

"Hmmm?" he let out unexpectedly, and pulled his phone out of his pocket. "Hold on, let me take this." He held out a finger to keep both Greg and Cecily still for a moment. "Yeah, hello?...What?" he asked, and the 'what' was said with barely suppressed urgency, emphasis on the ending 't'. "No it...No I...my god," he looked at them, his face aghast. The phone was dropped from his ear, his arm suddenly lost strength due to the news. "The pizza is ready."

Detective Roy Gregory

Location: Coroners Office -> Car Headed Towards Justice Memorial

"You green blooded hobgoblins, always expecting the worse. Not everyone dies in Justice," he said shaking his head a bit. Thinking back he could have put it a little bit better but it couldn't be changed at this point and the looks on their faces was priceless. No harm, no foul in his book and looking over towards them, he smirked a bit. If they got that worried over that old geezer he couldn't wait until April Fools day. He would have some fun then. Granted, that was if he remembered.

Nodding towards Cecily, he pulled his keys out of his pocket and then cocked a brow as Tank seemed to be caught up with something. Crossing his arms over his chest, he was skeptical over what the man was up to and in the end it turned out that he was right to be that way. Setting them up like that right after he had accidentally worried them was a bit too on the nose.

"You pick up the pizza, meet us at Justice Memorial. Wallace is in room 2319," he said before holding his elbow out for Cecily. "Come on, let's get out of this place. Smells like embalming fluid," he quipped before heading out of the door and over to his car. Opening the door for Cecily and waiting for her to climb in before he walked around the vehicle and got into the driver seat.

Pulling out his sunglasses he put the shades on and started the car up. "So, let's go over what we know. Peyton and Danica were sisters. Both are being classified as suicides. The guns that were used in both seem to be the same, if not the same but now both are missing and we have no clue where they are. And Wallace, the old bat is in the hospital. What else?" he asked as he pulled out of the parking lot and started down the road towards Justice Memorial Hospital.

Gregory knew there was more going on but he wasn't sure what to tell who. There were so many leaks in the department it wasn't even funny. He was glad he didn't have an official partner to deal with because for all he knew any partner would let shit leak to the press and who knows who else.

Alicia Gonzalez

Location: Queensguard Industries RnD Industrial Complex - The Diamond District

As Lorna headed off to check the building Alicia stepped into the security office and glanced around. The place was a mess and she let out a frustrated huff. This was not how she wanted to stat her day. She questioned the man sitting at one of the monitors why the place looked like it had been tossed by the local P.D., only to be informed that one of the supervisors had pitched one hell of a fit when he was laid off yesterday and trashed the place; and also that they had been cleaning all night to get things straightened up and it didn't look near as bad as it had before.

"Hijo de puta," Alicia grumbled as she tossed her bag onto the counter and opened it to pull out her work lap top. Starting the thing up and getting to work on the upgraded systems and coding that would be needed to better serve the establishment. She couldn't believe the set up they had there. Their idea of high end security against a cyber hack was a free copy of Malwarebytes.

"Fucking amateurs," she hissed from behind her clenched teeth as her fingers moved over the keyboard. The sound of rather frustrated clacking echoing through the room and the man that was monitoring the screens glancing over to her from time to time. He kept trying to speak to her but she would either ignore him, shoot him an eat shit and die look, or tell him to shove a taco in his mouth and shut the fuck up. She was trying to work right then and the last thing she needed was some bored security guard trying to make the time go faster.

Feeling her phone go off on in her pocket she pulled it out and answered it without looking at the caller ID. "WHAT!" Then her eyes widened as she pushed back from her chair as she stood up and walked across the room, looking out the window as she cleared her throat. "No. I am sorry about that Ma'am. Yes. Seriously? Wow, okay. Yes. Do you want me to now? No, okay. Yes. I can take care of that security matter for you. Of course. Thank you. Goodbye," she said, her words spaced out a bit before she ended the call and she tapped the edge of her phone against her chin a bit before slipping it back into her pocket.

Ruffling her hair at the crown of her hair a bit she stepped back towards the computer when suddenly she heard screaming, yelling, and things breaking out in the front lobby. "Miss. Gonzalez, we have a problem in the front," the man at the monitors stated. Stepping over quickly, Alicia looked at the screen and rolled her eyes. A middle aged man with a pot belly was standing in the lobby. One hand held a half empty fifth of whiskey, his shirt was buttons so off one end hung below his belly, the other on top of it.

"Same guy from last night?" she asked as she righted herself and rolled her shoulders back, cracking her knuckles as she did.

"Yes..."

Location: Boston Heights -> Her Apartment

Mali walked and noted that the guy from the bus was checking out the Regal building before a striking up a conversation with a chick with pink lemonade striped hair. Mali recognized her as one of the girls from the party. She lived in the next building over, didn't she? Eh, not her problem. From their body language they didn't know each other, but they didn't seem to be in a hostile confrontation, so she would just continue on with he business.

It wasn't until she had opened the door of the Rose Building that the voice in the back of her head started to nag again. What if it became hostile and she ended up getting shot, or worse? Every tired step up the two flights of stairs only made it more and more difficult to ignore that thing in her head saying 'what if' to the point where she was already feeling guilty for things that haven't happened. Yet?

When she had finally made it into her apartment (after trying to just get here for well over an hour. Thanks Justice Public Transport), she zipped over to the fridge after locking the door behind her and pulled out one of her premade meals and then squeezed through the aisle of boxes to the window. With a quick tug she opened up the blinds and peeked down to see if they were still talking or if one (or both) of them had left. She noted to herself that she would keep an eye out juuuuuuust in case something happened.

Caesar Gonzalez

Location: General Vicinity of Gretchen Mortgage LLC Waterfront Storage

This could be nothing. The sort of ordinary, everyday use of storage space that happens every ordinary day. Stuff goes in, stuff comes out. Occasionally, a lady might need a couple of brutish Russian movers to unstack and load up the important, perilously heavy boxes of perfectly normal things. Ignore sudden spotting of the occasional suspicious death, all taking place in or around a series of buildings owned by the same company and/or person that may or may not have something to gain from people expiring messily. People around his daughter expiring messily. Either of them, adoptive or blood. No, no. Not his girls. Motherfuckers must pay.

...the grizzled Mexican waited for his moment. They hadn't yet seen him, and he would make sure that one of them never would. The nanosecond that all three of them were facing away from him, Caesar struck. The first knife flew, seemingly of its own accord, streaking a frozen rope into the throat of the goon farthest from him. Panicked gurgling issued from the swiftly dying man, his hands clawing at the solid steel impaling his windpipe and jugular simultaneously. Both heads snapped around, all four eyes widening at the unexpected fate of their associate. The involuntary observation gave Caesar the extra moment he needed to sprint quietly behind the pair and drive his remaining knife into the other man's ribcage, puncturing his lung and sending him into a soundless scream. He used the embedded knife's handle as leverage, kicking high and hard at the temple of the woman and sending her into instantaneous naptime. A quick punch to the base of the second man's skull likewise rendered him unconscious, left to bleed to death, mercifully asleep.

He drug the corpses back into the open structure and removed their belts. While not perfect, they were adequate enough to restrain the knocked-out woman. Now that they had some time and privacy, Caesar was going to use every hard and sharp object at his disposal to get some answers - real answers - and soon...

He snapped out of his momentary daydream, quelling the rising feelings of raw aggression before they fully took the driver's seat of his braincase. Lucky for them (and probably him, if we're being honest), he had done a lot of work with his therapist concerning his mind numbing Impulse Control Issues. Before his therapist offed himself in a public bathroom, repeatedly mumbling something about "Mexican Wolverine" coming to steal his soul, anyway. Instead of succumbing to his baser instincts and committing himself to the next few minutes of brutal homicide and Days Of Yore torture, Caesar opted for a more technological, observant route. He was into security and investigation now, not the blind violence that marked the earlier decades of his life.

But dear, sweet, merciful Bacon he wanted to. One day at a time, old man. One day at a time.

Caesar moved to an angle appropriate to his surroundings, allowing vision but maintaining cover, and began collecting video, snapping the occasional silent still photo of everything he could about the scene unfolding near him. He had no idea who these people were, but others might. And he had to get back for that meeting with the forensic technician. No, collect information and go, at least for now. As much information as he could without giving up his position, in any case.

Cecily Ashworth

Location: Coroner's Office ---> Car Headed Towards Justice Memorial

Cecily glared at Tank, as soon as her heart restarted. Even after Gregory had pulled a similar stunt, she couldn't help but be too trusting, or too paranoid. She read into the situation beyond what was there--though Tank hadn't exactly helped there. He'd done it on purpose. "You deserve to be ripped apart by reavers," Cecily pouted, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Or maybe locked in a room with Khan, where he's convinced you've got all seventy-two missiles with you."

She took Gregory's elbow, and as they went, practically stuck her tongue out at Tank. It was rather fortunate hardly anyone else was in the building. She likely would have been scolded for her demeanor in a place filled with the recently dead. Giggling a bit at Gregory's comment, she sniffed her own shoulder. "I think I've stopped smelling it..." she pondered, getting inside his car. Do I smell like embalming fluid? Cecily wondered.

"And they say chivalry is dead," she joked, putting on her seatbelt, and setting her phone in her lap. She rubbed her thumb over a smudge on the Hufflepuff case, returning it to its nerdy glory. She threw a glance over at Gregory in his shades, reminiscent of almost every bad procedural cop show on television. Of course, she doubted Gregory would enjoy her pointing that out.

She paused, hearing Gregory list off the information. Her mind flickered to Caesar, and the meeting he wished to have with her. Would she be asked to spill evidence then? Despite the horrendous disregard for keeping information secret, hidden from the press, within the JPD, Cecily was one of the few to have never leaked evidence. Not even her former therapist had heard anything slip from her mouth.

"Both suicides occurred in approximately the same location. Both suicides happened during a Block Party. Another Boston Heights resident was found in a fountain last night. " Cecily added, an idea springing into her head. Perhaps avoiding the press was the wrong way to go about this case. The criminals behind it seemed obsessed with hiding evidence, with concealing it. Desperation only brought about mistakes.

Why not make them desperate?

"What if we told the press that we have a solid lead on a suspect? Cecily posed. "Say that we got crucial evidence from the gun, that it had been analyzed almost instantly last night...It could draw out whoever's doing this, make them paranoid, anxious, afraid...And then they'll give themselves away."

Jeremy Bennet

Location: The Library

Jeremy's research was thorough, and as the pile of books, articles and folders grew about him, he was taken back to his years at university, studying under Gerard himself. It wasn't uncommon for him to spend long and tiring nights like this, buried in books and articles in search of some sort of clue toward a treasure or find to be unearthed. Some of his teachers had always been against Jeremy's treasure-oriented goals when it came to his study of archaeology, but Gerard had always encouraged it. He figured it was only fitting that he was stuck in a similar fashion trying to find the bastard.

The article he'd found was interesting, but he didn't see the relevance until he'd noted the object buried with the sisters. Glancing back to his journal, he confirmed that it did look quite a bit like the object from Gerard's notes. He went back through the article to confirm where the location was, before he shifted his focus to where the sisters had been found, and any information he could get on the find itself. If he had a location, he figured it might be an even better place to pick up the trail.

Admittedly, part of Jeremy was already yearning to leave Justice. It was not entirely Justice itself's fault, although it was in itself a less-than-ideal city compared to somewhere like San Francisco or the like, but Jeremy was yearning for something more open, more wild, more, well, ancient. Part of him however was sure he'd be stuck there for a while, that something or someone would end up keeping Jeremy in Justice a while longer, his luck usually worked out like that.

Lucas Walsh

Location: The U.N.

Regaining his wits as he looked about, Lucas watched as some of the more diligent security workers moved about trying to help people with injuries while some of the more selfish in the lobby ran screaming for the exit. He heard the sirens and figured that police, ambulances and fire engines would be there soon enough, the whole works. Lucas didn't care, he wasn't about to wait around outside while Risa was still somewhere in the building, especially if there was the vague chance someone in the building might be looking to cause some more harm.

He quickly made his way over to the stairwell, looking down as he saw most of the first set of stairs in rubble on the floor. He took a moment to examine the damaged stairs, and it wasn't long before he figured his way up. Taking a step or two back, he ran up and pushed himself off the pile of rubble, setting his feet firmly on the wall and pushing himself up further to grab hold of a protruding bit of concrete which had remained in its place when the stairs collapsed. It crumbled a little under his grip, but held firm long enough for him to pull himself up and onto his feet, letting out a sigh as he looked to the stairs, continuing upward.

He continued to sprint upward, and while a gut feeling told him he'd feel safer with his gun in his hands, he kept it concealed for the time being - he figured at that point, unless he had some reason to have it out, he'd just cause more panic if he was seen with it. He kept climbing the stairs, having to leap and jump over a few gaps on some of the more damaged sections but as he got higher it mostly began to clear, the explosion had only been in the parking garage after all, despite how strong it was. "Risa!?" He called for her as he climbed, he didn't know what floor she was on but he figured he'd either pass her, or she'd hear him calling.

Felix Hausten

Location: The Block

Well wasn't this going smooth. Internally, he cursed as he listened to the cop, watching his fingers rub together as a direct indication that he would have to pay up. There went the idea he was gonna get information for free. He wrinkled his nose and reached into his pocket, fishing around for his wallet. Was this really wise? There were so many cops roaming around freely, probably some journalists observing the coversation between the two as well. This seemed to be the only method, so here went nothing. Within his wallet he counted up his money and rolled his eyes.

Maybe buying so much from customs was a bad idea. He looked around and back to the cop, taking out $20 and looking at it in his hand like it was mesmerising him. It seemed he'd really have to be smooth and kind to the cop. Back in berlin, cops and himself didn't get on so well, maybe this police station would get on better with Felix than he had hoped. He slipped the 20 to the man and smirked a little, slight cockiness and sincerity on his face.

"Hope your girl enjoys roller derby, never been a fan myself, too much sliding and bashing. Now I'm hoping my small donation can be of help y'know? Always good to watch roller derby, it's an interesting sport if I'm not partaking"

@Dragoknighte - Same people that were out there when Mali entered the building are still out there and speaking at this time. Everything seems calm right now and not like anything bad is happening. The guy looks a little tense and down as he speaks with Riley but not like he is about to do anything to hurt her but that could just be a cover up; in this town that is a very big possibility. If Mali turns on the radio, checks the net, or turns on the TV there will be breaking news coverage about the explosion down at the U.N.

@Nallore - The man shook his head a bit as he looked at the ground and kicked at the sidewalk. He had known it was true but it was obvious that he hadn't want to believe it. Sighing he looked over to Riley and nodded. "Yeah, pretty well. Met when she moved to town," he said before glancing around and noting the cops there. "I'll take you up on that offer of tea. Could use some to calm my nerves," he added popping his knuckles before leaning in and whispering against her ear. "Just so you know, I am carrying a gun. I didn't want to go into your place without you knowing it but I don't exactly want to pull it out in front of the cops."

@Pundii - More research doesn't yield much for Jeremy. Nothing cube like but there are mentions of other artifacts but they all have more sides and are from Roman listings and not Greek. Other than that Jeremy is able to find an obituary from back in Oregon that is listed online about Peyton. Who he father and mother are and that she is survived by her sister Danica as well. There is a single image from the funeral of the service. Danica is standing there palming an oddly shaped object in her hand as she stands looking at the closed casket of her sister.

@Scallop - The cop nearly looks offended that he was slipped twenty dollars. He takes it anyways and pockets it. "Yeah, I am sure she will love it," he say rolling his eyes a bit before adjusting his belt a little bit and looking back across the street. "You wanted to know where the ATM was? It is down the street and at the corner store down a ways," he quips as his radio goes off. Explosion down at the U.N. All free units, report to the scene. All report. The man's brows furrow a bit but he doesn't move, instead taking a seat down on the steps and taking his cover off as he whistles to himself.

@Sigil The trio keep moving stuff and eventually close up storage unit; locking it up before they head off in the other direction. They don't seem to take notice of Caesar at this time as they round a corner down another row of storage units. It's hard to get a steady filming of what was going on but the sound quality is fine and Caesar will be able to make out the faces from time to time and some of the larger imprints on some of the boxes they moved. Thing is they are speaking in Russian, you are going to need to find a translator to get what they were talking out. One thing though does stand out. Caesar hears the words - Queensguard Industries RnD Industrial Complex - Where his daughter is right at this moment.

Detective Roy Gregory

Location: Car -> Justice Memorial

"Yeah, problem with the press though is that bitch Regina Eilheart, she owns most all the press in the city. Not all mind you otherwise the story wouldn't have hit the airways on Independent stations but usually only the crazies listen to it. She doesn't bother and people who cause problems usually don't either," Roy said as he pulled into the hospital parking lot.

Turning off the car he hoped out rather quickly and went over to the passenger side of the car, opening the door for Cecily and holding out his arm again for her. It was how his mother had raised him and if he didn't he was sure he would feel the flat of her hand against the back of his head even if she wasn't anywhere near him.

Stepping into the hospital he headed towards the elevators and took it up to the second floor. Turning the corner he noticed a uniformed cop standing outside of room 2319. Holding out his badge the man stepped aside and let the two of them into the room. Wallace was laying there in the bed, hooked up to the monitors and had various IV's running out of his arms. His eyes were closed right then but his head was rolling to either side.

Risa Couri

Location: The U.N.

"Helvetti," Risa groaned as she rolled over onto her back and took a deep breath, coughing slightly as she finally started breathing again; having had the wind knocked out of her when she hit the ground. Sitting up slowly she leaned back against the wall and touched her forehead, it hurt. Pulling her hand away she took note of the sticky red substance on her palm. She had a rather nasty gash near her hair line but it wasn't anything life threatening, heads just liked bleeding a lot.

Sighing she pushed herself up and nearly toppled back over, looking down as she braced herself against the wall and noting one of her heels had broken. "Shit," she muttered under her breath as she took the shoes off and chucked them down the hall way before grabbing her purse and making her way down the hallway to try to find a way out of the building. She hadn't been far from the elevator when the explosion happened but when she got back to it, the door was cracked up and looking in she noticed the cable was snapped. She wasn't going that way. Time to find the stairs.

Looking at the floor map that said you are here next to the red dot screwed into the wall next to the elevator she found the closest one to her and started to make her way back down the hallway again. It seemed she had fared batter than some others, there was a man laid out on the floor. Rushing over to him she rolled him over and pushed the broken glass and iron frame of of a table off him but there was nothing she could do for him. The glass had gone right through his chest and he wasn't breathing.

Shaking her head she stumbled back to her feet, trying her best to avoid the glass on the floor now that she didn't have her shoes on and finally got to the stairwell. Opening the door she stepped onto the landing and looked down. The stairs were not in good shape but at least they were there. She was about to start her decent when she heard a familiar voice calling her name. "Lucas!" she yelled before she started to move down the stairs as quickly as she could but it was slow going thanks to the damage.

Riley Ridgeway

Location: Outside of Boston Heights

Riley looked at the man surpised that he actually did know Danica on some level, though she didn't know her at all maybe he would actually know something about her that she didn't. Then he whispered into her ear telling her he had a gun on him, which she already knew while she was at the stop light before turning into Boston Heights. "I sort of knew already, I was in my car when you climbed out of the bus and saw you tucking it under your shirt, its sort of why I went up to confront you." Riley whispered back, since he was being honest with her so far she didn't mind being honest either. Riley looked towards the cops for a moment before looking at him and gestured with her head to follow her into her apartment. Riley turned around and started to make her way into the building and made her way towards the top floor.

Once she was inside and he was Riley closed the door behind her, she knew that this could get harry pretty quickly and she remembered that Cecily kept a handgun stowed away somewhere in the apartment. "Would you be alright, if uhm hand me the gun i'd just feel a bit safer?" Also I wont call the cops either.[/color] Riley asked and ran a hand through her hair and then went over to the kitchen and grabbed a teabag as well as a mug. Riley then set it into the Keurig and turned it on. Riley leaned herself up against the counter as the tea was being made. "So could you tell me, how you met Danica?"

Well it seems like no one here has a sense of humor. I will mark that down and remember that. He didn't think anyone would believe it, happening literally a split second after Greg's scare, but oh well. He grinned when Cecily pouted at him and basically flicked his ear almost. He rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah yeah, I'm sorry." he chuckled, heading out to his bike parked beside Greg's car. "You know there was no pizza, but I might be a good samaritan and order one anyway." he told them, and they were off. He went an unorthodox but just as quick route to the hospital, using his brief alone time to think to himself.

"Glencross, Graves, and Marleston..." he breathed, though he couldn't even hear himself over the roaring of his engine as he sped down 24th street S. Assumptions were never good to hold up in court, but he was going to assume they were all killed, based upon him being absolutely certain Danica was from what he'd found back on the rooftops and the coincidences that were too..."Coincidendal" he sighed. There was also the possibility that the same gun was used twice, which also tied a few things up.

The problem now was to stick them all together with proof and facts. That is, if he wanted to solve something in the courtroom. It always payed to play by the rules, but sometimes it also got you killed. Back in Baton Rogue he'd done a lot of questionable things in order to get the perps he'd been assigned to get undercover. He might need to get dirty again. Suddenly a smirk appeared on his face. When did I ever decide to go clean?

By the time he had made it to the hospital, he asked where he could find Wallace, then called up Dominos and ordered a pizza. "Yeah, once you get to the hospital give me a ring. I'll go down and get it." he told them, and hung up right when he made it by Greg, his hands now in his pockets. He gazed at Wallace lying there. He was a lot more hurt than had been hinted it, he guessed. "You've seen better days, bud." he told Wallace.

Cecily Ashworth

Cecily nodded, conceding the point. "I suppose this is why you're the detective." While she expected her theory would have worked in a comic book, she saw Gregory's logic. Nothing was going to work the way it did in action films or anything else she spent her life obsessing over. Her only skill of use was her knowledge of crime scene investigation. Nothing more.

As the car stopped and Roy opened her door, she accepted his arm. Part of her pondered whether or not this was a flirtation. If it was, that would be two instances of someone being attracted to her in just a twenty-four hour period. Her eyes widened slightly at the thought, wondering what on earth she could have done to bring this on herself. It wasn't something she'd wish on her worst enemy.

I'm sure he's just being nice, Cecily reassured herself, walking with Gregory into the building and heading up to the second floor. She didn't see any signs as claimed by Sherlock Holmes on BBC Sherlock of attraction, and she instantly relaxed. Dealing with murder came far more naturally to her than dealing with that.

"He looks like a fish," Cecily giggled, as they entered Wallace's room and stared down at the walrus. As much as she knew, morally, that she should pity the man who appeared to be flailing his head from either side, it couldn't have appeared more comical to her. Here was the man who never did things properly, who belittled her work last night -- she held a bit of a grudge.

"Wallace, it's Cecily," she said, taking a seat next to the man. She couldn't have been more tempted to take a sharpie and draw a mustache on his wrinkled face.

Caesar Gonzalez

Location: General Vicinity of Gretchen Mortgage LLC Waterfront Storage

Faces on video, check. Weird language recorded, check. Exact storage unit discovered, check. But there were more questions. Why the hell did they mention MSS's new site? Were Alicia and Lorna in danger? Well, more than usual, anyway. With no vehicle present, where the hell were they taking the boxes?

Caesar likely could have left with the information gathered, no harm, no foul. If they were moving something important into another unit, however, it would likely not be under the same name as the first one. He would have to know exactly which shuttered steel room they were bringing the goods to, were he to do a follow-up. At the same time, Caesar had a reaching desire to go to the Queensguard Industries R&D Industrial Complex and check with his girls. While he was there, he may avail himself of the company tech present. Still, to round a corner while taking footage would definitely be met with confrontation, were these people indeed in the middle of shady business. But he had to know.

Several options ran through Caesar's mind. Some more obvious than others, some more violent than others. A couple that were downright hokey and/or suicidal. Any direct interaction, even if it did not come to violence, would partially tip his hand. If his face wasn't already known by some means, it would most assuredly be by his own. But his methods were old-school. He had acquired a number of new methods over the years, proof that you in fact can teach an old perro new tricks.

The elder man opted to take a more discreet approach. He had a daughter with a keen technological mind, particularly as it pertains to their industry. Caesar took note of the security cameras and affirmed quietly to himself. This was a job for younger minds to tackle. No slouch with security technology himself, but Alicia's skills dwarfed his own. Time to go.

Caesar quietly made his way out of the rows of storage units, careful to watch his back on the egress. For a handful of reasons now, priorities shifted to firing up his Scorpion and hitting Queensguard Industries, on the now. The waking growl of the engine seemed to agree.

Detective Roy Gregory

Location: Justice Memorial; Room 2319

"Keen insight there Tank, glad you're here. I might have missed that," Roy said with a bit of a smirk on his lips as he rubbed his chin and elbowed the man lightly in the ribs to mess with him. Wallace just lay there, flopping around and breaking out into a cold sweat. Roy had to agree, the man did indeed look like a fish.

"Yeah, well I'm a detective, not a fisherman. You want to filet him that is all you," he said as he stepped over to the bed and picked up the clipboard hanging from the foot of it. He flipped through the papers and then handed them over to Cecily. On them was a listing a tests that had been run but he couldn't make heads or tails of it.

"And I am also not a forensic expert, can you make heads or tails of this?" he asked as he crossed his arms over his chest. The results would look similar enough to the print outs down at the coroners office about drugs tests and such she would be able to make out that the man hadn't had a drop to drink, at least not enough to have caused him to be drunk enough to stumble the way he did and be out of his system by the time the hospital got a hold of him.

Stepping over to Wallace Roy cocked his head to the side and got closer to the man, waving Tank over to time. "That look familiar to you?" he asked as he pointed to a textured indentation on the side of the mans head that had bruised that way. It looked similar to a textured pistol grip, something both of them had run into plenty of times over their years as detectives.

Wallaces eyes slowly opened and looked at Cecily, muttering the same word over and over but it was nearly impossible to make out. "Prooooosssssr'neeee" was about all that was able to be made out.

Alicia Gonzalez

Location: Queensguard Industries RnD Industrial Complex - The Diamond District

Alicia dusted her hands off as the drunk was tossed out of the front of the building. He wasn't beaten up too badly, nothing that would leave much of a mark. He had just been man, or in this case woman, handled rather abruptly. "Get him off the property, if he gets back on... Shoot him or I will shot you," she warned the two other guards that were standing with her, the ones that should have handled everything before she had to get her hands dirty. Not that she minded but right then she had one job to do and didn't need interruptions.

"Missed a bit of action Cookie but all is settled now. Let me know when you are done," Alicia radioed over to Lorna, wherever she was in the building before rolling her neck and letting it pop a few times. She needed to get back to work but stopped before she was able to finish her full about face to head back inside. She heard an all too familiar sound and took the radio directly back off her hip. "Front gate, let the Mexican in."

"Ma'am?" she heard back.

"Did I stutter? Let the man in, he's my boss," she explained and then turned on heel and went back inside. She wondered what her father was doing there but as far as she knew he was just bored and coming over to stick his nose into her work business. Granted it was his as well since he did own the company but that didn't mean she needed him up there right then. No reason for her to stay out there and wait on him. She could get back to work and the other security folks could show him into the main security room for her.

Whatsherface and the guy from the bus did only a bit of chatting before leaving to somewhere. Well, it looked like another neighbor of hers wasn't about to get shot today, so Mali let herself relax and closed the blinds up. It was too fucking hot to have the windows open, and forcing the AC to work even harder to compensate wasn't something she was willing to put herself through. It wasn't until she was five steps away from the window and she was in the middle of stretching out her back that she realized that she was still wearing earbuds.

A quick yank and an eaten meal later, Mali was ready to get on with her day after getting sidetracked for way too long. She went through the mental checklist of things to do in her head. She was going to have to prep a new batch of food in a couple days at most, so going out and getting groceries was a good idea. She could also check up on that contest that she was in that's supposed to be held next month. She was pretty good on money for the time being, but it wouldn't hurt to look into scheduling a shoot or something. But in the back of her head, the idea that she wouldn't be able to put off unpacking all these boxes forever crawled out and pushed all those other things away.

Mali sighed. Well, if she was going to have to do this, might as well get it done before she really got used to having a bunch of boxes everywhere. But first, put on some music. She was pretty sure that aside from maybe the landlord, she was alone in this building, which meant that she had free reign to play it as loud as she wanted. The guy in the floor above her was apparently dead, and his roommate probably wasn't there either. The couple below her usually worked around now and anyone in the basement wouldn't hear anyways. She didn't like her music that loud, and she certainly didn't want to be like that one shit kid on the bus, even if she wouldn't end up getting glocked in the face. But now that she thought about it, the two girls in the basement probably were the kind of people who would smack somebody in the face with a gun for annoying them. Wait, were the cops in the apartment above her, investigating it like Danica's yesterday? Probably. Best to keep things reasonably quiet then.

Mali's laptop was pretty lightweight. She never really needed it for anything CPU intensive, so picked portability/cost over power. It's been able to hold up rather well in the four or so years she had it. When she opened up the web browser, what was she to find, but that the UN building had exploded.

"Well fuck me." At this rate, by tomorrow the entirety of the city would just fall into a bottomless pit, dropped into the Eighth Circle of Hell, where it truly belonged. If she had known that the city would implode just a couple weeks after moving in, she would have looked into San Francisco again.

Not like there was much she could do about it now. Putting on one of her many playlists* to take her mind off the impending apocalypse and the tedium of unpacking, Mali went to work on the truckload of belongings sitting around the apartment.

*Sorry, but I didn't actually make a whole playlist just for a single post in this RP.

Lorna Dunn

Location: Queensguard Industries RnD Industrial Complex - The Diamond District - Security Office

Having completed her checks of the building and all that it entailed, Lorna was satisfied with the report she had gathered for Alicia and made her way back towards the main security office when her radio crackled and Alicia's voice sounded out. Lorna pressed down and responded quickly. "Roger Leash, sorry I missed the fun but I'm sure there will be plenty more to come. Done now and on my way back to you. Cookie out." She hipped her radio and walked briskly to her destination.

Walking at a quicker pace now, Lorna made it to the security office but there was no Alicia in sight. She must have had to eject the cause of the fun so she'd be back shortly. Grabbing a seat, Lorna propped her feet on the desk and kept her eyes on the cameras, looking through each screen and noting the angles of each scene. Some of these cameras were definitely being under-utilised, she'd need to mention this to Alicia. She thumbed her radio and leaned back in her chair. "Leash, camera work is lookin' shoddy - it's gonna need a full overhaul to use it to max effect. Another job to add in to the list me thinks."

While she waited on Alicia to get back, Lorna let her mind wander some to earlier this morning and she felt herself both frowning and smirking while she thought. Her finger slipped in her pocket and she played with the card that Lawson had given her earlier. Maybe she should make him wait? Nah, that was too childish for Lorna. She tapped the card to the tip of her chin before deciding to text him so that he had her number too, that way she could see how much he wanted hang out that night and if it were friendly or more. Slipping her cell out, Lorna punched in Lawson's number and composed a short message to him.

To Rodeo Town:

Hey, it's Lorna Dunn. Figured if I have your number you should have mine. Talk soon.

She put her cell away and went back to monitoring the cameras.

Jeremy Bennet

Location: The Library -> Boston Heights

Jeremy let out a sigh as he looked through everything he could fine, the Roman mentions as opposed to Greek ones helped more than one would usually think, the distinction was often overlooked between the two civilizations. He jotted down the details of Peyton's obituary in his journal, and saved the image, taking note of the object in Danica's hand. Once he'd saved the image, he called it quits for the night, leaving someone with the horrible job of having to clean up after him as his books and articles piled up all over the table he'd settled down at.

Making his way out of the library, he let in a deep breath of fresh air, a satisfied smirk splitting his lips as he moved back to his bike. Jeremy had found out his next step, along with plenty more, it had been one hell of a productive day so far, and he hoped that productivity would continue. Climbing on his bike, he started it up and began to take off home, it wasn't a long drive, but a fair few police cars sped past him with the sirens on as he drove, along with ambulances and fire engines. He made a mental note to figure out what the hell had happened, but he didn't really have any intention to follow them.

It didn't take him long to get back to the heights. Bringing his bike up, he let out a sigh as he hopped off, glancing over to the building he knew Danica's apartment was in. Spotting the guard outside on the steps however, he stopped. "Ah, fuck." He muttered to himself irritably, realizing that there was likely to be another guard upstairs, the apartment was no doubt locked down, he wouldn't be getting in without speaking to Gregory again first. Asking to get into the victim's apartment, that wouldn't sound incriminating. Letting out a sigh, he moved instead to his own building, heading inside and up to his apartment, he moved inside and settled down, deciding to dedicate some more time to research while he waited, he had a feeling Gregory would show up again before too long.

Lucas Walsh

Location: The U.N.

"Risa!" hearing her voice in reply to him urged Lucas up the steps much faster, deep down he was beginning to immensely loathe how high the building actually was, his calves burning as he continued up the steps. It didn't take too long before he reached her, immediately wrapping his arms around her in an embrace of relief as he held her for a few long moments, letting out a sigh as he stepped back. "Are you hurt, is it bad?" He reached up, setting his hand on her cheek as he looked over the gash on her head. Concern was etched onto his features, but he realised that now was neither the time nor place for concern, they could worry about each other when they were away from the building.

"Come on, I think you can get the rest of the day off work." He took her hand firmly, and began to continue back down the flights of stairs down the building. He kept up a reasonable pace, while the worst of the damage seemed to have been done, he certainly didn't trust anything at all that was going on right at that moment, he wanted to be out of the building as quickly and as safely as was possible. As they reached that missing, final set of stairs, Lucas peered down it, he could hop down, it wasn't that far, but he wasn't about to let go of Risa for a moment.

Not bothering to say anything, he reached over and rather suddenly swept her off her feet in a bridal carry. Not exactly a romantic gesture given the situation, but the intent was loving enough. He gave her something of a reassuring smile as he carefully hopped down off the stairs, landing firmly on the ground below as he set her onto her feet again, grasping her hand once more as he made his way into the lobby with her, rushing for the exit to get them outside. Things had turned to shit at the U.N. real fast, but at that moment he wasn't remotely concerned with what had happened, Risa was the only thing he gave even the slightest shit about right then.

@Dragoknighte - As Mali is unpacking she will start to notice that some of the boxes look as if they have been rummaged through. Doesn't seem anything that is missing and there was no sign that anyone had messed with the door when she entered. The more she looks in the boxes the more obvious it is becoming. If she looks around the apartment she is going to probably notice a few more things. The window in her bedroom is cracked open and it looks like someone used a crow bar on the outside of the window to get it open. (Mali's bedroom being on the backside of the apartment building and shielded partway by a tree. Maybe why the cops didn't notice anything; or maybe they did and didn't care.)

@Nallore - The man nods and follows Riley inside. Once they are in he takes the gun out and holds it up before ejecting the clip and popping the chambered shell out of it. He keeps the single bullet and the clip, sliding them into his back pocket before handing the gun over to her. "Figure it is safer for both of us if neither of us can shot the other," he said with a goofy grin before sitting down. "I actually met her on accident. I was hanging out on a roof top, high as a kite. She came out of no where, running from some blonde chick in a baseball cap. I drew on the woman, scared out of my mind because she looked like she had just broken out of crazy house. Woman took off. Danica was scared I was about to put a bullet in her until I put it up and went back to smoking," he said laughing a bit remembering the look of relief that washed over Danica's face. "She ended up having a seat, helping me finish off my little butt and then we grabbed a bite to eat. Kind of been hanging out ever since down in my end of town."

@Charnobylisk - Lawson gives Lorna a quick message back - Well I sure do appreciate that little lady. Saving it now. Care to join a redneck for dinner and a show? Know this place, a little rough and tumble but lots of fun. Pick ya up at the apartments around 6? - It is a few more seconds after Lorna gets the message that Alicia comes back into the security room grumbling under her breath in Spanish before heading over to Lorna when she sees her. "Fucking dumbasses. Anywho, yeah, I was figuring we would have to do that. I was hoping we wouldn't since the place is new but the former security team seemed to not know anything. Oh and Papi is pulling up..."

@Sigil - As Caesar drives up he sees a couple of things. One is a rather drunken man who has been mucked up a little bit being drug out of the front gate. The other is a security guard cussing out another before storming off and getting into his car and tearing off down the street away from the complex, tire tracks being left on the asphalt. The remaining security man at the gate looks Caesar over as he lowers his radio, Alicia's voice ringing in clear over it telling him to let "The Mexican in" and that he is her boss. The man gulps a bit and steps over to Caesar. "Okay, last guy who didn't search got fired. I gotta figure this is a test. Mind stepping off the bike so I can search you?" he asks nervously.

Risa Couri

Location: The U.N.

Risa let out a sigh of relief as she heard Lucas call out her name, she had been so afraid that he been in the middle of the explosion that had ripped through the building. Rushing down as quickly as she could without causing herself more injury she flung her arms around him as he hugged her and rested her head on his chest. "I've been worse," she said, looking up at him as he examined her head and gave him a bit of a knowing wink. She had been and right then, other than the gash in her head she felt fine. Well maybe not fine, she was broken out in a bit of a cold sweat and her heart was racing but that was to be expected.

"Never know, they might want me to get a broom," she said before rolling her eyes a bit. Lacing her fingers with his, she followed his lead as they made their way down the the damaged stairwell; figuring since he had gotten up there the path should be pretty clear. She grunted a bit, rubble under her bare feet but she kept moving. It wasn't exactly the time to bitch about a few cuts and scrapes.

As they reached the broken landing she was about to climb down when she felt his arms suddenly pick her up, her arms wrapping over his shoulder in reflex. Feeling her breath catch as he leapt down with her in his arms and giving him a quick kiss on the cheek before running out of the building with him. The dust was still kicked up from the explosion all around but the emergency rescue, along with the police and firefighters, was there and setting up. Risa looked back at the building as they ran down the remains of the front steps, not feeling too well suddenly. On the back of her silk shirt was a large rip and it was wet with blood beneath her hair as the wind picked up and moved it. Slowly Risa start sinking to her knees, and her grip on Lucas's began to loosen. She felt woozy and very tired suddenly.

"No, get your asses over there, those three are tagged for the morgue, that one needs air lift out to Justice Memorial Trauma One. Those others can fucking wait for their mothers to kiss their boo-boo," a woman in scrubs yelled out before rubbing her temples. "I'm surrounded by morons..."

Cecily Ashworth

Location: Justice Memorial; Room 2319

"I'm not sure filleting him would be legal..." Cecily murmured, still staring at the helpless old man. Accepting the clipboard from Gregory, a mischievous smirk graced her lips. "I'm a forensic scientist specializing in toxicology, not a doctor," she teased, mocking his trademark quote. However, she nodded at Gregory, chewing on her lip slightly as she glanced down the sheet. The tests were, indeed, rather similar to the ones that she had to run constantly. No alcohol had been in his system, and given that there wasn't an overwhelming scent of bitter almonds, she ruled out cyanide poisoning as well.

"He wasn't drunk," Cecily answered, handing the charts back over to Gregory. "They were running tests for substances on him, couldn't find a trace of anything. It is possible that there is something in him, something they weren't looking for so they didn't detect, but it certainly isn't alcohol."

Despite the news, she was beaming. She never had felt more in her element. Poisoning cases were going out of style, due to the advancements in detection. Whenever she got to use her specific skill set, though, it always made her feel bliss. It beat running ballistic reports or securing a crime scene any day.

She sighed a bit, hearing Wallace mumble more and more incoherent phrases. What the hell did Prosrnee mean? She racked her brain for any possible meaning behind it. Jessica Jones would have known what it meant. Forcing a smile at Wallace, she nodded as if she understood. "Okay, let's see.... Is Prosrnee a name? Blink once for yes, twice for no..."
