Name:
"Platz Grün, first son of Grün Custom Works. It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance."Platz Grün
Nickname:
"I would...rather you simply used my name. No need to create confusion, yes?"Tinker
Age:
"Is it not readily apparent? I hardly look younger or older than my age, I would be so humble to say."17
Race:
"Flesh and blood human, nary a drop of other blood. Hardly surprising, I would be so bold to say."Human
Personality:
"Me? Well, I am not one to talk about myself overmuch, but if you insist, I can regale you for a time."Punctual and precise, Platz is the definition of a calm, collected person. Coming from a well to do family in the upper class gives him a blue blooded sort of grace, speaking with a gentle tone that rarely carries the harsh, oft course language and generally preferring to carry himself with dignity and respect. He is slow to anger, almost to the degree that quite a few have never seen him angry, although he is quick to inform those that irritate him of just that, how they irritate him, often in chastising and many times down to them instead of speaking as equals. He has an odd obsession with clockwork and tinkering with an older era of technology, speaking from his pride and joy, and often times shows a great deal of pride and joy in his work. Not that he would overly boast, preferring to let his actions and handiwork speak for themselves, two things that he will have no qualms demonstrating should the need arise. He rarely takes time off, often working himself mentally ragged as he continues driving himself into his next task or goal, regardless of the severity, and it often takes more than a few tries to get him to sit back and catch his breath.
History:
"My past his hardly anything interesting, I would assure you, but we all have our stories, do we not?"The Grün family had been living within the kingdom of Atlas for a great many years, although they were originally not natives to the kingdom when they first immigrated there shortly after the Great War. With them they brought a hand for weapons crafting that, while ill suited to mass production, caught the eye of a great many higher up nobles, as well as newly minted hunters and huntresses from such well to do families. Within a generation, Platz grandparents already well into their twilight years and training their children to take up the family business, became overnight stars in the right circles within Atlas. Certain officers favored their weapons, granting them access to gatherings and activities that previous generations of the Grün family never even knew were possible. Platz parents were not born into such a lifestyle, but adopted it alongside their parents, his grandparents.
Platz was born into the lifestyle of nobility and circulating among the children of officers and other well to do individuals, carrying himself through their games and scheming with a razor wit and perfect manners. He was perfectly content growing up, spending much time at the barracks and training fields for the Atlas military, something his family was tempted to look down upon, but chose to let the boy lead his own path in life. After all, having kin in the military, as ingrained as it was in Atlas, would be a powerful boon indeed. However, fate would not have this occur. While his skill with a rifle was unquestioned, his mentality, as polite and gentry as it was, did not fit in with the proper military protocol, often going about his own business how he saw fit. Which was a shame that, in the eyes of the Grün family, they lost a potential in to the military hierarchy of Atlas. However, a second boon came when Platz discovered his Semblance, something that had manifested in each generation of the family and off they had gone to be Hunters, or huntresses in his one Aunt's case.
Platz, as the first son of the family, was given Timekeeper, a rifle that had earned and solidified the reputation of the Grün family in the Atlas nation, among the right names at least, and sent off to the Illuminate academy. After all, his family had already been serving Atlas as hunters already, so having kin in another nation's Academy would be far more advantageous. Platz knew his family was only concerned with increasing their influence and power, and accepted the suggestion to go abroad for choice of Academy in a fake placating of their wishes. Rather, he would much rather get away from their scheming, if only for a little while, and live his own life, his own way.
Weapon:
"You've been glancing furtively at my pride and joy, have you? She is something spectacular, I assure you."The first weapon that the Grün family had ever constructed, and the one that earned them the income and status as custom weapon artisans, the weapon is handed down from father to first son, or scion if you will, of the family when they leave to perform as a hunter. Platz prefers to use its rifle form, in his eyes, the elegant and master crafted form should be shown and wielded with a careful, expert hand for all to marvel at. While it has the capability and, even, the design for utilizing hand crafted Dust bullets, Platz refuses to use the rounds, considering them crude and a shortcut for honest to good handiwork and skill. When pressed in close combat, where such a long rifle would do little good, a flick retracts the optics and attachments, a casing springing forward to allow the rifle to now perform as a balanced quarterstaff, something that is wielded in an almost dancing manner, twirling and spinning from strike to defense in constant motion. It does have a collapsed form that is about the size of a painting tube, one used to carry artwork, that can be readily slung over Platz's back and is never far out of reach.
Semblance:
"Quite the family trick, one that they do not like that I have no qualms in using it so brazenly. I suppose we all have to rebel against our dear families somehow..."Grace of the Hunter - Platz takes the classic stereotype of the noble, blue blooded hunter and makes it a reality. His semblance alters his perception and speed, greatly increasing both to allow him to view the goings on around him at a near stand still. His movement accelerates greatly, creating the illusion of not traveling the distance between where he aims to go and where he was. Of course, the drawbacks of this semblance tends to be rather noticeable if one pays attention. The first, and most problematic, being that once moving at that speed, one does not simply stop on a dime. Unexpected terrain conditions, such as ice, can send him tumbling out of control. He also cannot interact with other people, unless he wants to hurt them, as others are not often braced or even trained to handle the sudden shifts in speed, causing whiplash at best or even causing serious damage at worse.
Dust:
"I would not sully my hands with such a thing. I would suggest, if you would, not bringing it up again."Platz does not utilize Dust in combat
Other:
Platz spends his free time, when not tinkering with his Timekeeper or other gadgets, tends to enjoy playing the violin.
