“… The sunlight… It hurts my eyes…”
Name:Lucius / Black Mass
Gender:Male
Age: 15
Appearance:In his default form, he is about 5’6” (1.7 meters), with a rather unassuming build that would easily give the impression that he isn’t meant for direct combat. His skin is fair and leans more toward the pale end of the spectrum. He has aimless, short, dark-brown hair usually featuring large multi-tiered bangs and a light-purple eye coloration. He wears a pair of corrective black-rimmed glasses for his innate nearsightedness. He has grown rather attached to a sizable, gray scarf and wears it whenever possible. On the whole, he prefers warm, comfortable clothes of simple make and drab coloring. His numerical designation is located on his forehead, often covered by his aforementioned bangs. His expression is commonly neutral, showing little emotion one way or the other. On rarer occasions, he may be seen as mulling something over or otherwise lost in thought.
Number:(Notice: I would like a heads up on available numbers) Until then: 10
Rank:B
Personality:On a typical encounter, observers (provided they notice him) will find Lucius as being aloof and standoffish. However, such a demeanor doesn’t stem from feelings of superiority or complete indifference, as though any given individual isn’t worth his consideration, nor is he necessarily shy to the point of outright reluctance towards social interaction.
Lucius’s behavior results from an “upbringing” focused almost exclusively around the training, development, and precautions involved with his powers, leaving his growth in terms of natural mental and behavioral development in a somewhat stunted state by the time he turned fifteen. Still, fundamental aspects of his training were and still are the virtues of concentration and control, so much so that, instead of being prone to destructive tendencies and violent outbursts, Lucius is disposed toward keeping to himself, observing a situation and staying silent until he deems action on his part to be necessary or unless directed to action by someone he recognizes as having authority over him. Otherwise, he will quietly do what he wants at his own pace.
A considerable amount and number of knowledge and concepts that are taken for granted or come naturally to others are relatively unknown to him, thus to be viewed as curiosities rather than facts of life. This has lead to underdeveloped people skills. Although Lucius is capable when it comes to listening and problem-solving, he come off short in regards communicating, relating to others on a personal level, having empathy and working in teams effectively.
As “government weapon” is the only life he’s ever known, Lucius, or “Black Mass” as some science teams refer to him as, really doesn’t mind his lot in life at all. Under the basis of him certainly not being human, therefore having no right to the “life outside” as humans do, and the axiom that others must die for others to live as surely as two things cannot occupy the same space, he has come to remorselessly accept his place, seeing humanity’s enemies as targets to be assaulted until they stop moving indefinitely.
Lucius’s relationships with his scientists and handlers are relegated to the professional level. Given the nature of his power, staff members are wary when they’re around him, coming to realize the potential for danger. He has had little to no contact with his fellow bioweapons, although perhaps a few have seen him calmly transported via wheeled, tiltable restraining table.

Description:Lucius is the latest subject in a long running line of bioweapons research that hit it’s stride in the late 1900s, when the scientists stationed in Dulce, New Mexico, developed a strand of the Hellion Virus, designed to virulently infect living targets in a certain area, in time mutating them into powerful drones that would then proceed to lay waste to the target area’s security measures before a built in insurance measure disposes of the “Hellions” to ensure a clean takeover without endangering soldiers needlessly.
Unfortunately, it was found that normal human physiology is unable to handle the strain, and infected cells would break down before the viral bacteria could rework them. Subjects would die of organ failure and cell saturation making them unsuitable carriers. Incidents involving Patient G, the most promising subject by then, made it apparent that the project, as it stood, was doomed to failure.
However, in studying the Godslayers, it was determined that the right specimen could utilize a form of the virus, becoming an adept instrument of destruction. At the age of three, Lucius was deemed an acceptable candidate and given a new variant of the Hellion Virus, one that carries no infectious properties whatsoever, but should allow him complete control of his abilities. The operation was a success with no sign of rejection.
Enhancements:For years, the virus has altered Lucius’s cells, changing his genetic makeup. This has granted him considerable increases to some of his base natural attributes (accessible in his default form) as well as some rather unavoidable side effects.
Genetic Prowess: Heightened awareness, faster reaction time, increased speed and strength. None of these are to an excessive degree, but distinctly superior to an average human’s attributes.
Toxic Blood: Although not infectious, his blood has a noxious quality that makes exposure hazardous for most people. Symptoms of contact or prolonged exposure, even to the accompanying pungent fumes, may include lightheadedness, muscle spasms, unconsciousness, and suffocation in closed environments. Sufferers should seek medical attention immediately for these and other conditions.
Poison Immunity: All known poisonous elements (including his own blood) have little to no effect on him.
Mass Regrowth: He is capable of immediately and rapidly healing minor wounds and injuries (default form). For medium level injuries (default form) and minor injuries (altered form), he will need to consume animal tissues/flesh (the fresher the better). For major injuries (default form) and medium to major injuries (altered form), he will need to consume the recently deceased tissues/flesh of high caliber beings (certain Fiends and Gods) or still living meat of lesser beings.
Note: The amount of living material required for regrowth may vary.
Weapons:Utility Grenades (comes in throwable and munition versions):- Flashbang Grenade
- Frag Grenade
- Smoke Grenade
- Acid Grenade
- Poison Gas Grenade
- Incendiary Grenade
Note: Lucius can only carry a limited number of grenades and will have to pick and choose on a mission by mission basis.
Scourge: A heavily modified 40x46mm multi-shot grenade launcher, capable of launching suitable ordinances long distances.
Abilities:Lucius’s abilities develop from his aptitude for manipulating his altered cells, transmogrifying portions of his body to perform a desired task resulting in jagged, dark, charcoal-colored growths nebulously shifting and setting into hardened yet living plates or strands. Essentially, he is a shapeshifter, the visibly altered parts of his body referred to as his “biomatter/biomaterial”, the tools he can generate from which are called “constructs”. Concentration plays a major role in maintaining a single or group of constructs. Lucius is quite capable but falls quite a ways off from what the scientists estimate is likely his full potential.
Blade (Construct): An elongated, double ended blade from the base of his elbow, turning his arm into a giant, razor-sharp cutting weapon suitable for slicing through obstacles.
Chain Rod (Construct): A thin, flexible blade-edged appendage from his arm that can be extended for close to mid ranged combat.
Tendril (Construct): A vine-like protrusion amassing from his limbs or elsewhere, capable of extreme range and reaching distant objects for the purposes of pulling to himself or even propelling him towards that object at high speeds.
Blight Mode: For a limited time, Lucius can cause a large portion of his blood to convert into a high level acid, diverting it for use in his constructs. His eyes as well as portions of his biomatter (equivalent to the amount of acid he makes) will change to a bright, glowing, green hue. Any construct he makes will be laced in the caustic solution and cause prolonged acid burns upon contact.
Guise: Lucius can shapeshift to disguise himself as any humanoid he has seen, albeit with varying levels of success and only for a few hours at a time.
