Location: Beryllium City Outskirts, En Route to Route 13
Aiden was busy looking over his map and planning his path as the other two travel partners he'd found came up behind him and not only gave their consent, but also agreement to his route and plan. Especially with Novis suggesting that they could hit up Devarda Town or Ormolu City after their trip through the ruins. When it was all settled Aiden barely had time to pocket his Pokedex before he felt his free hand get yanked away. Gathering his senses he saw Novis run with him in tow towards the outskirts of town, trying to keep pace with the younger kid as he caught himself and started to pick up his speed. It was then he finally had a moment to say to Novis, "Glad to meet ya man! Name's Aiden! And my friend over there is named Zorex! Yes he does bite, but it's mostly out of love!" From there Aiden continued on ahead pausing only to look back for Roxy, Lucina, and Zorex.
Zorex, without much surprise to Aiden was charging full speed ahead and despite his stubby, short legs he was quickly gaining on Aiden with his slowed pace. Every other step he let out a playful murr or roar and before long leaped up past Aiden to be the new lead, jumping up and down a few times to get Aiden running again.
As for Roxy and Lucina it was clear to see they were well on their way as well and before long with those two caught up he turned back around to chase after Novis ready to head out and set a path into the great, big world of Chromis.
Together the group made their way out of Beryllium City and after a quick reassessment of their position and which roads and alleys got them to Route 13, they found their well traveled path and set out on it, slowing the pace down a bit as even Aiden and Zorex who spent most of their lives running couldn't sprint all the way to the Zamak Ruins. Regardless it was a path laid out before them and now they were finally really getting their adventure into full swing.
Lusitania watched all the fumbling about, trying to take interest in what was going on, to be completely honest, she didn't care where they was going, just When! She wanted to get out of the city bad and get back to the wildness of routes on the region, just any place that wasn't sheltered by concrete or stone was good enough for her. Personally, she wanted to get out on the Route to travel, these guys seemed like they would be fun to hang around with, it looked like they would all get to have some fun in the future.
Meanwhile, while Lusitania was lost in her own thought. Luna had been giggling at the giggles failed attempt to replicate what she had done. It seemed as if the Gible called Nado had struck a cord with the Young Rockruff, She was patting his back with her paw gently when it had been righted by his Trainer. "Ruff." She barked into Nado's ear cheerfully as if to say, "lets be friends.". Then she turned to leave her tail propped high and wagging. It seemed Lusitania got tired of waiting.
"Okay Guys, That is it! Enough lollygagging. Lets get going, Dreams and adventure is before us." Lusitania yelled as she began to slowly walk her feet on the cobbles, walking toward the general direction of route nine, adamant as her Pokemon's Nature. "Try to keep up okay." She said as she gave a simple wave for them to follow without looking back.
Arctus mused to himself, that was an Elekid, his Totodile was going to be at a typing disadvantage, however such a strength would only be a problem if his Totodile was struck. Marcus the Totodile stepped up into the space between the trainers just as the Elekid did. It seemed confident.
"Marcus use Water Gun in short bursts", he ordered. The Totodile began pelting short bursts of water at the Elekid, allowing it to better readjust aim depending on how the opponent decided to move. It was a sacrifice of power but it had other reasons to be used this way.
This was Lucy and Elekid's first battle, so of course she's a bit nervous. Not that she'll admit it that is. Their first opponent is a tototile, type wise, she should have the advantage here. But she can't let that get to her head, it takes more than a type weakness to beat someone, especially an experienced trainer with a badge. The enemy struck first with a water gun attack but that was fine.
"Zap, counter with your Quick Attack " she ordered. The thought was to use quick attack to dodge the short blasts of water, getting in close to strike before then following up with a type attack of her own at close range.
"Rage", the order was simple and concise, the Totodile seemed to understand the intention as it barreled directly into the incoming quick-attack with whatever it could, claw, feet, tail, whatever.
"And then Rage again!", the Totodile didn't miss a beat as it went in for yet another strike. It's expression was full of fury as it yelled a battle cry.
It seemed as if he expected to get to get hit. Knowing about rage, Lucy knew she couldn't be reckless and make it get stronger by constantly attacking. "Leer!" she called out. While it may not stop the attack, they could at least try to make it hesitate and lower it's defense, and stop rage.
"You really have no clue huh? Marcus, use Rage again", Leer wasn't going to stop a Rage. The Totodile went in once more with a powerful strike that threatened to end the battle. At this point, he seemed to believe he was either lucky, or this Elekid didn't have Static and had another ability. He was afraid he'd suffer paralysis, but it seems that fear was not founded.
Well, that didn't work, though, she had a feeling it wouldn't but thought she'd give it a shot anyway. Ignoring the trainers words, she quickly shot off a command, "Thundershock". She probably should have used it sooner but no use complaining about it now. Lucy and Zap needed to stop it and push it back. Whether that mistake earlier would seal their fate, they're about to find out.
"Oh, not bad... But a little too late, Rage", as the Totodile went for a fourth Rage, the pure presence of the little blue Pokemon on the battlefield despite it's size, was absolutely immense. The Thundershock served to stop it for the moment, but unless it used a different move, the Rage building was going to stay. And with this much power built up, there was no more reason to change. Though not quite to that effect, the finishing blow felt like a meteor crashing down to Zap as the Totodile laid into the Elekid, winning a convincing battle.

Damage on Totodile
"I can't believe I won with such a simple strategy... Hm, well I guess that's to be expected", he spoke like his victory was a given.
"As courtesy demands, you did... Rather okay. First battle? Maybe I should've been more gentle hm?", he was being taunting, even if it didn't seem like he intended to be, he was being taunting.
"Well, seeing as you're all just new to this show, I'll just be taking my leave. I'm not about to waste my time on such green trainers, maybe another time if you're half-way decent by then. Toodles", the trainer with his Totodile Marcus continued along their way. It seems they were headed to Beryllium City based on that direction... Or Amalgam University. The party didn't see which way he turned, but that was certainly something.
"Oh it really is missing, and this too", the Froakie made a motion and pose and said something along the lines of, 'to lower your guard so easily, master are you getting rusty?' York on the other hand didn't look too concerned, he just seemed a little surprised then went back to the smile. As soon as all the Pikipeks had dissolved, and three figures appeared, holding up their stolen items, he turned to them.
"Oh there it is. Hey could you pass it here?", he waved over to them, the Ren tugged at his trainer's sleeve.
"Huh...? They're stealing it?...", he turned back to the three supposed thieves. "That's no good, stealing's not right", he began. His expression began to harden slightly, but as soon as they mentioned battle...
"Battle? Well then, that makes things a lot easier", he responded, likely to the three's surprise. On queue the discoloured Froakie jumped up to the front and took a pose. They were ready.
"Well... Even if I say that there's three of them... Tal?", he said, turning to his newest companion, a fellow trainer.
"Uh huh, Ruby grew up here in Chromis but didn't really get to go out of my city much. Daddy travels a lot as a Pokemon ranger so he tells me lotsa fun stories though~!" Proud of her father's profession, Ruby told this excitedly with her chest puffed out. Imagining how the mother of the little girl would react to the bunch that she was traveling with, she replied without much of a hesitation, "I don't think mommy would mind if we stopped over, she'll be glad Ruby already made fa-- friends along the way~"
The idol-ish girl smiled innocently as if nothing wrong was about to be said until they encountered a trainer who had just came out victorious from a previous battle. With the attitude and snobbish expression he was putting on, even Ruby could tell this guy was one arrogant jerk. His narcissism was starting to irritate the girl who was narcissistic as well, but she was unfortunately nowhere near experienced in the field of battling. It was then that someone spoke up, "Me and Zap will definitely take that challenge."
Lucy and Zap stepped forward in a daring gesture, ready to take on that arrogant blond boy. With her fighting spirit fired up, Ruby dropped her backpack on the ground and quickly rummaged through. Not a moment later, a pair of white-pink pom-poms was brought out. We all know where this is going. "Go Go Lucy~! If she can't do it, no one can! Goooooooo Lucy~!" Hue of pink and white fluttered in the air, along with the pink feelers of a certain Sylveon which acted like its own pair of pom-poms.
_____________
Gritting her teeth in frustration with tears building up at the corner of her eyes, Ruby shrieked in anger as the victorious blonde left, "That meanie, if Berry and I knew how to fight then we would've taught him a lesson or two! Hmph!" Realizing how she suddenly lost her composure, Ruby quickly wiped at her tears and forced on a subtle melancholic smile. "I mean-- Awwww, Ruby still thinks Lucy didn't do too bad for her first battle, so don't worry~!"
After packing up her pom-poms back into her bag, the little girl started towards the south again before speaking up, "Ruby can see her city from here, we're almost there! It's getting a little late so let's have a slumber party at my house~" She didn't exactly intentionally attempt to lighten up the mood, since it was the practical option anyways, but the idea was indeed fun sounding.
As the group would make their way onto Route 13, they would notice that they were not the only ones who would occupy this walk to the ruins. There were many tourists and scientists making their way to the ruins, the tourists occasionally taking pictures of themselves for memories, and the scientists often lost in their own work. Though, they were all seemingly lost in their own worlds, disinterested in the kids as of now. After all, why pay attention to them when there were ruins to explore. It was even rumored that Unown lingered deep inside the ruins, thought to have some sort of connection to Johto because of this.
As they would go further down the route, they would eventually stumble across a small excavation camp, where the scientists there would dig out fossils for Beryllium’s research sector. It wouldn't be nearly as crowded there, as many of the tourists didn't stay for long, eager to reach the ruins, and thus leaving the excavators to their work. Perhaps, with some persuading from the group, they would allow the trainers to help in their endeavor, and reward them such.
There was also some sort of rest area in the middle of the route, where trainers could rest for a bit and use the benches and tables set out to prepare meals and eat. There were also several wild pokemon gazing in the distance here, hoping to snatch a quick bite from unsuspecting trainers. All in all, there was plenty to do before reaching the ruins...
Talonite's hotdogs were stolen out of his hand by a flock of Pikipeks and Talonite growled in frustration. The Aipoms rushed by him and York along with a group of three strangers, suddenly making Talonite feel a bit lighter. "Ah crap." He muttered as he realized almost instantly what had just happened. He had done the very same thing to people, just without the big spectacle.
"Wow. You could've sold those Pokedexes for at least 1,000 Poke each. Now you're going to lose your score and whatever cash you have on you." Talonite snarled as he released Necro's from his Pokeball.
York wanted to battle as well and Talonite nodded. "I'll go support and you attack." He muttered just quietly enough that only York could hear the statement. @Sho Minazuki@I-Am-X
Aiden continued with his new found friends, making sure to spark some lively and fun-seeking conversation as much he could. Though of course it wasn't long before things started to liven up on the road about them. As the tourists and scientists past on by he couldn't help but look at them. More so the scientists than the tourists. Remembering his Pokedex talking about fossils and excavations at and near the Zamak Ruins he pulled out his Pokedex once again to see if any of the, "Click to learn more" tabs could let him glean more information about what was going on.
After spending a few moments to himself learning about what the researchers, scientists, and archaeologists were finding he could help but have yet another bout of interest in the dig site. Making up his mind he posed the question to the group, "Hey guys, I think we should stay here and help out the scientists. I know it doesn't sound exciting, but come on! When will we ever get the chance to see a real life dig site filled with Pokemon fossils from ancient times? I think this could be awesome!"
With his words done and said he took a few steps towards the dig site, curious about getting a better look. Zorex did the same and waddled after him, peering over teh little hill he found himself on to try and see what Aiden was so intently looking at. And despite his short height making it a little difficult he still gave his best effort before turning to face Aiden letting out a loud murr.
Aiden who had been looking at the dig site turned from it to see Zorex reaching up for him and then turned back to see the rest of the team. He didn't know if they'd agree, but at this stage he was very much hoping they would.
"It's not gonna get much love outta me if it even tries to touch me," Novis said as he was still backpedaling, shooting Zorex a death-glare. As soon as the others were back to walking alongside him, he flipped around and followed Aiden's lead to Route 13, even if was only just a few turns off the main road. "But yeah; Roxy," He gestured from the young woman to the boy a few steps in front of them, "And Aiden? Cute names."
He'd never actually been too far to the East, so Novis found it intriguing to take his first steps on the rocky-grassy ground that covered Route 13. It was definitely the least green of the three routes leading out of Beryllium, but based on the number of people walking the road, it'd better be interesting. The ruins and fossils no doubt intrigued many a scientists, and the sightseers promised, well, sights to see. Nov had read about the whole region of Chromis before, actually, though like most of school, he couldn't exactly remember much besides that it had a notable amount creepy Pokemon that hung around the place, the more bored ones spooking up naive groups of tourists. Aiden had the idea of actually doing a bit of research on where they were heading, though. It never quite occurred to Novis just how much a PokeDex could actually do, but then again, he'd never even touched it since he got one from the Prof.
Soon enough, with enough walking, they got to the half-way point of Route 13, where a dig site was situated. Now that they were on the outskirts of both the ruins and the desert of Chromis, fossils were bound to be hidden under the dirt and sand. Novis didn't really care about some Pokemon bones, but Aiden seemed particularly adamant they get the experience. They probably weren't ever gonna come back to quaint Route 13 again, so Nov relented.
"If you really want to, I don't see much of a reason to not check it out." Nov picked up Nier from the ground as he spoke, the dog giving a little wheeze as Novis pulled out a bottle of water from his bag. Holding Nier under his arm, Nov poured some water into his cupped palm and held his hand close to Nier's mouth. The Growlithe slurped up the puddle with ferocity, and seeing such eagerness suddenly reminded Nov how long it'd been since he last had something to eat. "Which one of you can cook? I wanna take a break up ahead once we're done here, and lemme tell you, I ain't exactly gourmet."
Before he got a response and before he could consider if used that word right, he brushed past Aiden and jogged up to the nearest excavator. The man was checking out a bunch of sand-eroded rocks for some reason (Nov couldn't exactly discern if they were fossils or not), and so, if this whole thing was gonna be looking at a bunch of rocks for twenty minutes, Nov was gonna have fun with this.
Nov flashed a winner's grin and pointed at his chest with his thumb. "Hey, you guys need assistance with your fossil expeditions Me and my pals over there, we're bonafide Pokemon Rangers!" He gestured to Aiden and Roxy, who were clearly not with the program yet. "Got any details? A mission only strong, mysterious strangers such as ourselves could handle?" Nier barked in agreement, his little puppy face exuding a confidence that was fitting of only the most battle-hardened Arcanines.
"Whoa." Leo's eyes widened as the Skitty leapt on his shoulder and he immediately turned his head around to look at it, only to once again look forward as it began purring into his neck. His cold demeanor melted nigh instantaneously. Try as he might, it was practically impossible for him to ward off the smile that was appearing on his face. He covered his mouth to hide his big, goofy grin until it was nothing more than a tiny smile. He then gently pet the Skitty and chuckled along with its trainer.
"You're lucky to have such a nice Skitty, you know." Leo's expression turned more puzzled when he heard Chance's words. "Get some help? With what?"
Nado leapt for joy at the Rockruff's proposal, almost completely ignoring the fact that his trainer was totally getting comfy with some pokemon who wasn't him. On any normal occasion, he'd be half tempted to bite the boy's hand, but he was just too happy! But...he was always happy, right? So would that make this a normal occasion? Did that mean he'd have to bite his trainer after all? Luna's chase for her trainer completely destroyed Nado's train of thought, prompting him to rush after her.
Leo's body became oddly stiff when he heard Lusi's yelling. He placed the Skitty down to the floor and rubbed his ears. She had strong lungs, that much was for sure.
"Well, she definitely looks like she'll have plenty of fun on the journey." Leo replied back to Sadie. He stood up from his crouched position and immediately went to chase after his Gible, but not before saying a few more words to Chance.
"Sorry, but would you mind telling me about your problems while we're running? Nado, get back here!"
As Leo ran off to chase his wayward Gible, the stubby dragon would begin to run off the beaten path and into a grassier area filled with wild Pokemon. While most stayed away as their natural instincts told them how dangerous the baby dragon was, many others simply didn't notice Gible due to its diminutive stature. The Gible would finally end up running directly into the left hind leg of a grazing Girafarig. While the front head continued to eat grass oblivious to the new presence, the rear tail was intrigued by the new Pokemon and began to sniff Gible as it bared its teeth hungrily.
As this confrontation went down some other Girafarig nearby began to take notice and cautiously gathered nearby to see what was going on. This prompted other Pokemon to get curious until eventually there was a pretty large crowd of curious Pokemon gathering around Gible and the first Girafarig to see just what was going on.
“Nado! What have I told you about…” Leo looked around him, noticing the odd amount of pokemon surrounding his Gible. He raised an eyebrow, then looked up at the Girafarig with an unusually long neck. Nado seemed to be playing with its tail, though it had a face for seem inexplicable reason. Eager to try out his new pokedex, Leo pulled it out for more information.
“Girafarig, the Long Neck pokémon. Its tail also has a small brain. It bites to repel any foe trying to sneak up on it from behind. It can instinctively fight even while facing backward.” A digital voice described the creature aloud.
“Nado! Use Sand Attack on that thing!” Leo commanded hastily. The Gible immediately dug its claws into the ground and threw dirt right into the tail’s face. Leo hoped that doing so would dull its senses just a tad bit. The tail looked just about ready to have Nado for lunch.
The Pokemon around began backing away as the human showed, obviously fearful of the intruder to their home. Meanwhile the Girafarig was not happy with Nado. After he threw dirt into the back head's eyes the front head immediately swiveled towards Nado, its eyes glowing blue and a blue outline appearing around Nado.
Nado would feel a sudden force propelling him backwards as the Girafarig used Confusion on him to make some space.
“Gi-ble!” Nado cried out in pain as his tiny body was launched backwards with Girafarig’s psychic powers. Leo felt tempted to use Dragon Rage right then and there, but was reminded of how badly Nado’s slow speed had crippled them during their last match. The Girafarig was almost certainly faster than Nado, so attacking blindly would be no good. Especially for the Girafarig.
“Sandstorm!” Nado bounced right up to its feet, fueled with the desire to battle. Soon, a sandstorm engulfed the area. The already tiny and difficult to see Gible was hidden even more by the obfuscating sand.
The Girafarig could no longer see Gible through all the sand, so it narrowed it's eyes and began sniffing to try and find the evasive little bugger. As soon as it identified the Gible's scent it turned towards him and prepared another Confusion.
Meanwhile the other Pokemon were starting to get very aggravated by the sand and looked as if they were on the verge of stampeding.
Leo was admittedly nervous as all the pokemon grew more aggravated. He had to end this battle fast and book it. The tiny head was a problem, but maybe...
"Nado, roll around in the dirt to hide your smell!" Nado looked at the spot it dug up when using Sand Attack. He leapt face first into it and completely dirtied himself. His regular smell would be hidden by the smell of the dirt.
The Girafarig was confused by the sudden turn of events as Nado's smell completely disappeared. It had no idea what to do at this point, so it just Growled in an attempt to scare the Gible off. Meanwhile it was steadily taking damage from the Sandstorm and looked like it was getting quite tired already.
“Alright! Nado, Take Down!” The Gible charged at the Girafarig with all of its weight being put into its attack.
Leo already had a pokéball in his hands to seal the deal with a capture. It was already worn down from the sandstorm, one hit would surely be enough to tire it out. And so it was. The Girafarig fainted and was about to fall on its side until Leo quickly contained it in the ball.
"Good work, Nado." Leo held the pokeball up in awe. His first new pokemon...amazing. In his excitement, he had even forgotten to chew out the Gible for not only running off without him, but getting lost while he did it.
"C'mon. We've already gotten split up from everyone thanks to you. We'll take about this later!" Well...he had ALMOST forgotten to chew him out. The Gible let out a dejected cry at the lecture it would have to endure, letting the storm subside as it followed after its trainer.
The battle started, and to Danilo surprise, Ruby pulled out pom poms to cheer on Lucy. He was quite amused that the younger girl had so much energy, her pokemon just as enthusiastic. Zap and the totodile exchanged several hits, starting to not look too well for the electric type. When he got around to unleash its electricity it wasnt enough to take his opponent down.
Danilo winced as the last rage attack hit and ended the fight. The winner talking as there was no chance to begin with to win against him. Danilo didnt enjoy the attitude, but he didnt respond in any other way than a nod of his head and saying "Congrats, and until next time our part cross." With the trainer off on his way he looked at Lucy.
"Quite a nice battle Lucy. Some are won, some are lost. " Francis fly from under Danilos hat and landed on Lucy shoulder chipping to cheer her up and giving a light peck to the glaceon clad girl cheek. Danilo wondered if Francis was confusing Lucy for a pokemon or was his pokemon partner be friending other humans now. After a moment of consideration, it was more likly Francis was confusing Lucy for a pokemon, because of her choice of attire.
Ruby packed up her cheering equipment and offered everyone to stay the night at her home. "How can we say no to such galant offer. Rest will do good to our pokemon. As well sleepovers are quite fascinating, indeed. We could tell each other stories, use make up on each other and even pretty our pokemon as well~" Francis chipped a few times at the prospect, quite found to make it impossible for anyone to try and dress the little bird up. For him it was the best type of game ever.
They started to go that way when Danilo tilted his head. It was that moment that catch up to Danilos brain, what Ruby said a bit ago about her own inexperience in fight.
"Ruby and Berry, you have not fought previously? Maybe than the first battle can be something quite memorable, as the fight between Berry and Zen? Two sylveons, two coloration facing off each other, the fairest eevee evolution to be decided. It surely will be a dazzling display. If you would consider my selfish suggestion, as such a fight I would love to observe." They kept on walking, Danilo noting to check if the pokedex by any chance had a recording video function when they arrive.
The three delinquents knew they had this one in the bag. It was 3 on 2 and they were only up against a shiny little froakie and a ghastly. Didn't matter how good they were, they had the advantage in numbers. Or at least that was there thought process. They also ganged up on their targets, using whatever trick they could to win. In short, they never played fair. And Why would they if it always meant victory?
"Y-You idiots don't know when quit, huh?" the delinquent leader spat out, unnerved briefly at York's reaction before recovering. He didn't get it, they were at a disadvantage yet he acted like he didn't care. It was as if it didn't matter, that he'd beat them regardless. One could almost see his veins bursting in anger. "The brat got some nerve!" the girl added as the tall one followed with a simple shrug.
"Tch, we'll show you. Pekipek, Echoed Voice on that Froakie!" the delinquent leader ordered. The punk grates on his nerves, he'll just take him out first!
Following him was the Delinquent girl, "Aipom, Astonish on Gastly!" While the leader focuses on the brat, the other two will focus on the other chump and then they'll focus all their strength on Froakie.
"Aipom, also use astonish." the taller one also ordered an attack on gastly. Being that it was a ghost type, it pretty much was the only attack Aipom had that could hit it. Regardless of how strong or not it was, the aipom only had one goal, make sure the ghost pokemon isn't able to help Froakie.
"Necro, close your eyes then dodge in front of Froakie." Talonite calmly ordered as Necro closed its eyes to avoid looking at the Astonishing faces of the Aipom. It then rapidly moved in front of Froakie so it could tank the Echoed Voice, which had no effect on the Ghost Typed Gastly.
"Have your Froakie duck under Necro to attack the Pekipek." Talonite suggested to York quickly.
"Jump and use Water Pulse! And then Quick-Attack!", he ordered, the Froakie after stepping back from the onslaught and Gastly getting in the way, he saw his moment and leapt over the ghost Pokemon, and fired off an orb of water. Before it would even land, the frog Pokemon would dart with great speed towards whoever was closest, and in this case with Aipom coming up for the Astonish earlier, it would be the victim to the Froakie's Quick Attack. The Water Pulse on the other hand was only aimed in their general direction, who it would hit or not hit mattered little as the aim was the Quick-Attack.
"Tch, so you know what you're doing, big deal. Pekipek, Rock Smash! Crush that irritating frog! roared the delinquent leader. So it can jump, we'll just drop some rocks on it!
"So he plans to take the frog's attacks, huh? Aipom, Sand Attack! Blind them!" They can't let that ghost pokemon keep interfering. Close your eyes if you want to, we'll just make a dust cloud everywhere! It was still reeling from the water pulse, but it still wasn't enough to take it down.
"Aipom, Use Astonish again. Same target." His Aipom was the victim of the froakie's quick attack, but it didn't matter, it's serving it's purpose. As long as they can take them out, they'll accept it.
Necro was hurting a little after the dual Astonishes, but nothing time couldn't handle. The leader called put for a Rock Smash and Talonite shook his head. "Not today, move in front again. Make sure not to look at the Aipoms." Once again Necro moved in the path of the Rock Smash, but it was losing eyesight because of the persistent dust cloud. Hopefully that would work to their advantage.
"Follow up by Spiting the Aipom blowing dust everywhere! Talonite yelled this time as Necro was starting to get a little far away. However Necro did something else as a ghostly nail appeared over the Gastly, hammering into it and visibly hurting it. An identical nail appeared over the Aipom using Sand Attack and hammered into it as well.
"Dodge then use Water Pulse on Aipom!", as the Rock Smash fell upon a Gastly and as a result, phased through, the Froakie jumped back away in surprise. Had it not been for Gastly getting in front he would not have moved away in time. This gave him an opening to hit the Aipom with an aimed Water Pulse. It was currently using Astonish, so this shouldn't be a difficult shot.
Again, that dang ghost got in the way again! Two straight attacks got blocked and failed because of that thing. He can't afford to keep missing. He wasn't sure how much use the Aipoms will be. In his irritation, he kept going after the froakie when he should've been going after the Gastly! "Pikipek, use peck on Gastly!"
With the Gastly still being used as a support, it managed to get in the way of Rock Smash and was now using spite on it. Well, beats an attack. "Hmph, no matter. Aipom, Astonish on Gastly!"
Having used Astonish last round, it made things easier for Froakie to hit it with Water Pulse, leaving Aipom to take a lot of damage and left it reeling. There's no telling how much more damage Aipom can take, but if it took another clean shot like that..."Aipom, follow suit, Astonish." It was an all-out gang beating, all 3 targeting Gastly, determined to knock it out for good so they could target Froakie without worries.
And it most certainly would knock out Gastly, but not before it managed to get off one last move. "Necro, use Hypnosis on the Pikipek!" Necro's eyes glowed blue as it looked into the eyes of the Pikipek, then closing as it fainted. Talonite recalled the Gastly then looked at York. "Finish these idiots. Nobody takes my wallet and gets off scot free."
With the Aipom low, York took the initiative. "Now finish it off with Quick-Attack!", he ordered, the Froakie moved in quickly and preemptively as if it knew what to do next as the Aipom took a hard and quick assault immediately following the Water Pulse. Whatever it managed in that small time frame would not save it from the Quick Attack.
The pesky Gastly didn't go down quietly, hitting a last second Hypnosis on Pikipek as it was in the process of fainting. With Pikipek asleep, the tall delinquent's knocked out with quick attack, things were taking a turn for the three delinquents. While they had advantage in numbers when the battle began, that advantage quickly went away.
With Pikipek unable to move after being put to sleep, it was up to the Delinquent Girl's Aipom to try to salvage it. "Aipom, Sand-Attack! Don't let him get a clean hit!" she frantically yelled. With Pikipek asleep, he was a sitting duck, so something needed to be done and get the froakie to miss.
Seeing the Sand-Attack, he yelled at Ren, "Water Pulse on the ground!", the Froakie blasted Water Pulse at the ground in front of it, the splashing water catching some of the sand as it made a space in-between the attack.
"Okay, set up with Bubble", the Froakie began to use Bubble, albeit not aimed at them, but to create a kind of area to sit behind. They had to be careful, but they also had to be quick. If that Pikipek wakes up too soon, they may be in for some real trouble.
With Pikipek still asleep, it was up to Aipom once again for a 2nd straight turn. Froakie, using its water pulse on the ground, causing the splashing water to catch some of the sand. On top of that, it used bubble to create a kind of area to sit behind, meaning that Aipom can't attack without getting hit. All Aipom needs to do is buy Pikipek some more time. Choosing not to attack again, she issued another command. "Aipom, Tail Whip!" If she can't attack it without incurring damage, she might as well try to lower its defenses!
When York said to set up with Bubble, he meant set up, and that's exactly what the Froakie did. "Now then, Water Pulse, charge it inside the Bubble", as the water required for Water Pulse formed, some of the Bubble spun around the orb of water, and formed an even larger Water Pulse, which was sent directly at the Aipom. Though the Bubble wall was now gone, the Aipom now had a larger and more powerful Water Pulse to contend with.
Using the set up from bubble, Froakie sent a bigger and stronger Water Pulse right at Aipom. Knowing she can't stop it, she instead tried to mitigate the damage. "Aipom, Sand-Attack, pile on as much sand as you can and lessen the blow!" With Pikipek asleep for a 3rd round, it was unable to follow up on Aipom's efforts.
The two attacks meeting created a large dust cloud, with a good chunk of the Water Pulse breaking through. If the trainers on the field were to look around, they would notice Ren was nowhere to be seen, but York with all confidence made an order, "Now use Water Pulse again!", in the time that the previous attack went through, the Froakie was already scampering around to leap into a perfect position to witness it's own attack, as it rained down a Water Pulse from above.
The collision of Sand-Attack and Water Pulse created a large dust cloud that blanked the field and while it mitigated some of the damage, a good chunk still managed to get through and hit Aipom. With Froakie taking advantage of the dust cloud to get in the perfect position to deliver the knock out blow, Pikipek finally managed to wake up. Taking advantage of it targeting Aipom, "About Time! Pikipek! Pelt it with Echoed Voice!" Using Aipom as bait.
With Aipom seemingly done for if it hits, Delinquent girl didn't bother to try to to defend. Following up on the previous Tail Whip, "Aipom! Astonish!" It was all up to Pikipek now.
"Alright, now Quick Attack the Pikipek!", as soon as Ren landed, it moved and dashed towards the Pikipek, trying to zig-zag it enough to not suffer a direct blow from the Echoed Voice. The Aipom's Astonish did nothing as Froakie changed to a normal type, going in for a quick blow on the Pikipek.
As Aipom's sacrifice did nothing in the end as it went down, as the froakie changed type, thus resisting the attack, as it used quick attack. While it wasn't a direct blow, Pikipek still managed to graze Ren and that was enough. "Again!" A simple command but enough for Pikipek to understand it's intent. Charging forward the Pikipek fired off another Echoed Voice, chaining off the first and doubling its output.
"Stay away from the front Quick-Attack again!", with Pikipeki building up Echoed Voice, staying away from it's line of sight and therefore the brunt of it's voice was priority, and Quick Attack provided the speed it needed to stay away from taking any clean hits as it returned blow for blow with flanking Quick Attacks. At this rate it was a question of whether Echoed Voice can do enough damage while continually grazing the Froakie which was laying into it with cleaner hits.
Knowing that while he kept the build up going, they were getting nowhere if all he's doing is grazing the little toad with its relentless quick attacks which would have this battle continue as a battle of endurance, one that could put it in the brats favor. He decided to stay his attack and wait for the opponent to charge in for another quick attack. It was a risk but something needed to be done.
Once the opponent neared, There'll be no escape. Pikipek, waited, with words not being needed to understand it's trainers intent. After all, there was no other choice. Either they finished Froakie off with Echoed Voice, or its over. Once he neared, he prepared to attack.
"Hmmm? Hmmm. Use Bubble, surround it, stay away from the front", keeping a distance, the Froakie began spraying Bubble while staying on the move. Not nearly as quickly as when it used Quick Attack, but with the distance, and the Bubble setup, it should limit some of the Pikipeki's options as he sought an opening. He had openings before when it blindly used Echoed Voice, but it seems it was being more careful.
By being cautious, fully expecting another Quick Attack, they instead went back to the bubble attack, more than likely preparing for another supped up Water Pulse. The Delinquent leader and Pikipek were left with either continue holding and wait for them to attack or take the risk and charge in and blast Froakie. "Fly around it and attack with Echoed Voice from above!!" Taking the risk, he ordered Pikipek to fly above the bubble barrier, dive in and fire it off from the air.
"Get behind the Bubble and use Water Pulse", he ordered. As soon as the Pikipek took flight, the Froakie took off himself, sprinting towards the Pikipeki's former position, the Echoed Voice was going to hit hard, and the Bubbly barrier wasn't going to last much longer, so now or never. The amped up Water Pulse was launched once more to clash with the Echoed Voice.
As if waiting for it, the Froakie also took off the moment Pikipek flew off but this didn't deter him in the slighest. It's what one gets when they gamble but this isn't one they were going to lose. When Pikipek got in position, he fired off Echoed voice at the same moment Froakie fired off his Strengthened Water Pulse. Despite this, they didn't collide but instead struck each other at the same time, dealing a large chunk of damage to each.
However, the outcome was clear. While Echoed voice was powerful, it just wasn't enough, shown as much as Pikipek fell from the sky and crashed onto the ground. York had won and the Delinquents lost, despite coming close
"Impossible....w-we had it!" fumed the delinquent leader. Regardless of the result of the battle, he didn't relinquish the stolen items. "Since it has came to this..." he muttered while giving the others a signal. With a nod, they returned their pokemon to their pokeballs and picked up their weapons.
They might have lost in pokemon, but there's no way they'll lose with weapons!....Or so they thought. Just as they moved to attack York, they heard many loud voices coming from the opposite direction "Police! Stop where you are!" one of the voices demanded. "Damn, the police," "You haven't heard the last of us! Count on it!"
"Come on, let's get out of here!" dropping the pokedex's and wallet's on the ground they fleed. "We'll deal with you next time." the delinquent girl growled as she followed after the leader. The taller delinquent simply glared at them, as if saying 'yea' before taking off after them.
"You're lucky to have such a nice Skitty, you know."
"Sorry, but would you mind telling me about your problems while we're running? Nado, get back here!"
"Uh-"
Before he even responded it would be too late as Leo took off, left in the dust of his wake... as he got up to leave Blitzy would hop off his shoulder and back to her trainer. He...- what? What just happened... he thought to himself. Lusitania was already gone too...- guess the only one here is that girl...? Was it Sadie? Yeah... He picked up his map with Blitzy at his side as he put his map away, looking around quietly. This is awkward...
"...umm- yeah! Lets get going!"
Chance would wave to Sadie as he started sprinting, trying to catch up with the rest of the group... he just kept going and going and- okay Blitzy is here... but where did everyone else go? He couldn't have got that far out onto the route, he did exit the city about... 20 minutes ago? How long was it? 30? 10? 15? Uh knows...- I think I can still see the city from here... but only over the lake.
"Huh... hey, Blitzy you think we should-?"
He'd look around for a moment, wait- Blitzy wasn't here... where is she? He'd look around, getting even more disorientated and- oh, on my shoulder... he laughs to himself as he realized Blitzy was right beside him the whole times. Kinda like losing your glasses to find them on your hat.
"Mew~"
"Yeah yeah, laugh it up."
He chuckles, booping the skitty on the nose. Huh- the lake... Chance stood right by the water, maybe he could figure it out himself... how to catch a pokemon... he was interested in catching a water pokemon. There has to be some in this water... his parents used to read him an old tale about an ugly fish who evolved into a beautiful serpent, though it was probably some old myth. The idea though still flooded as head as he edged near the water, running his right hand across the water as he crouched down; speaking aloud to himself.
"Heh... but its not like some fish is just going to jump out at me..."
Location: Route 13, Excavation Site Interacting with: @Deos Morran / Aiden ; @Sen / Novis
As the trio walked down Route 13, Roxy found herself growing increasingly curious about the Zamak Ruins. She'd only ever read about it in the books her school had on the Chromis Region, which was admittedly not all that much. "I wonder what we'll find at the Zamak Ruins! Maybe we'll get to find some rare Pokemon there? Or what if we stumble across fossil Pokemon?" That would be almost painful for her, if they did find fossil Pokemon. And a bit ironic, seeing as she was so far from her parents, but at the same time finding them in almost everything she saw. Her parents would probably kill to see the Zamak Ruins in person. She pushed the thought out of her head, though, endeavoring to focus on the prospect of seeing new Pokemon. She recalled that the ruins held a great deal of ghost, ground, and rock type Pokemon. Catching a rock type would probably be a good idea, seeing as Lucina had trouble dealing with flying type Pokemon.
Roxy noticed the ground becoming rockier as she and her friends came across a small dig site, just on the outskirts of the ruins. Tourists brushed past them on their way to the Zamak Ruins, leaving the excavators to their work. Roxy couldn't help but take a few steps toward the edge of the site, noticing a somewhat sheer drop downward. Lucina anxiously tugged on Roxy's leg, pulling her back away from the edge of the excavation site. "What do you guys think is down there?" she asked, turning to look at her two friends. Aiden seemed excited about going down there to help them, which made Roxy just a bit uneasy. There were scientists down there who probably knew her parents; in fact, Roxy might have met a couple of them. "I, well...okay, sure," Roxy replied, uncharacteristically shy all of the sudden.
Novis was, once again, already rushing off ahead of them and jogging toward someone who seemed to be studying sedimentary rock along the wall of the excavation site. That actually made sense, seeing as they were in a desert, and fossils were usually found in sedimentary rock anyway. She only knew this because of her parents' extensive research into the subject of fossils, of course, but maybe that would be useful if they were going to help out these scientists. "We should, um, probably go follow him," Roxy said to Aiden before hurriedly jogging down the same path Novis had with Lucina in tow. She paused several feet behind him, though, when she heard him describe their little trio as "strong, mysterious strangers." What was he doing? Turning wide-eyed at Aiden, then back at Novis, Roxy found herself not knowing how to react.
As Chance stared down into the water, wishing he could catch a cool Water Type Pokémon, the Pokegods smiled upon him as he got his wish. A brown blur rocketed out of the water, smacking Chance in the face as it tried to attack what it perceived as a threat.
It flopped onto the beach and it was now obvious just what had attacked Chance, a Bold fish by the name of Feebas. It started flopping about, trying to Splash it's way back to the ocean so it could start the process of attacking again. It looked like it was struggling though a it accidentally moved further from the water.
The Feebas leapt out of the water, slapping Chance across the face, leaving a red mark that quickly faded... but-- boy did it hurt.
"Argh... wh-what the...?!"
He rubbed his cheek, looking at what just hit him, w-what? A pokemon? Blitzy looked up after the loud slapping sound, tilting its head at the sudden fish attack. Chance pulled out his pokedex, scanning the pokemon as it flopped around helplessly.
"Huh... it's female? Doesn't look female to me-- ..."
He looks over at Blitzy for a second, who was looking at him now. After a moment of silence later, Chance would respond.
"... no! I'm not checking..."
Chance folded his arms, looking back at the Feebas as Blitzy rolled her eyes, also focusing back on the Feebas as it splashed around. He still wasn't quite sure how to catch a pokemon, but... might as well try while he had the "chance". He'd reach into his bag, grabbing a pokeball, chucking it at the Feebas and crossing his fingers.
"please work, please work, please work..."
The Feebas was sucked into the pokeball, shaking around for a moment... 1... 2... 3...
Click~
Feebas was caught!
"... ... ... IT WORKED!"
Chance raised his arms in celebration, dancing around as he went over to pick up the pokeball.
"Woot!"
He ended his celebration, sitting down in the grass with Blitzy.
"Huh... now what?"
"Mew?"
Chance sat there in silence with his skitty, thinking... thinking... thinking...
"TRAINING!"
Blitzy tilted her head, looking at Chance with curiosity. Chance had already let the Feebas out of its pokeball, making sure it wouldn't slap his again before he started his training montage.
Aiden looked happy that his friends were in agreement with him, but at the same time he couldn't help but notice Roxy's unease about the whole idea. All while Novis charged off to go and possibly make friends Aiden stayed behind to look at Roxy, carefully and slowly walking up to her as one may a frightened Pokemon, but before he could say even a single word to her she turned to him and said those fateful words. Being snapped back into reality he looked over to see just what Novis was doing in calling their little group a bunch of quasi Pokemon Rangers and mysterious strangers.
Letting out a sigh, but also trying desperately to stifle a small chuckle at his lovable antics Aiden went down the path after him, joining Roxy and Novis with the stranger. "I'm terribly sorry sir. What he means to say is that we couldn't help but notice your hard work and were curious about lending our aid, or just learning from it while we're here. We're not Pokemon Rangers, but I would add those adjectives to our name considering you don't know us yet. Name's Aiden and this here is Zorex." He said albeit a bit long windily, pointing to his faithful Gible who was energetically bouncing at his side.
Continuing on he spoke up again saying, "The man you met first is Novis, and of course, this here is Roxy. A pleasure to meet you." All during his introductions he made sure to gesture to each person as he said their name, deciding to leave their Pokemon to make their own introductins of have them introduce their best friends of their own accord.
As for Roxy and her unease that didn't leave Aiden's mind, but he'd definately have to bring it up later where there weren't as many people around.
Lusitania was happily walking along the route of route 9. She was taking in the sights of people sitting in the park having food with their Pokemon. 'Why couldn't Unova have more of this' Lusitania wondered to herself as Luna was busy sniffing the area in front. Lusitania had to admit, Chromis was a beautiful place but alas the cities weren't for her to be frank. Stretching her hands up to the Sun, Lusitania stretched before stopping, close to a row of bushes. "Okay guys I think we should take a short resting break to - oh" Lusitania began as she turned around, stopping as she noticed the absence of the team she had planned to travel together with "Oh." Lusitania said again as the situation dawned on her. She was alone.
"Well great, Luna!" She called to her loyal companion who's head perked up and turned to face her. 'Ruff?' It asked as if to say 'what?' "We've lost our traveling group, every single one of them," Lusitania said with a sigh prompting Luna to responded with a sigh of her own as the Rockruff started to sniff the nearby bushes. Lusitania walked to the side of the main path of route 9. She had no clue how deep she was into the route, only the Sun was nowhere near where it was before. Perhaps, she was nearing the end of the first half or was it the start of the second half? she had no clue and either way she couldn't go on until everyone catches up. She didn't want to train at this time, it was too bright out and besides Luna and her always started training at the same time each day if possible. Now was not that time.
So Lusitania pulled out her Sketchpad from her backpack and one of her many pencils before she began to draw the scenery before her, leaving Luna to play around with the interlocked mat of bushes on this stretch of path. Her pencil lightly scratched the paper as she drew the scene. Nature was her second favorite thing to draw. She stopped her small sketch midway through to flick through the rest of the Sketchbook for some information on what techniques to use, She stopped on a hatching drawing of Luna's egg. Causing her to smile to herself that time wasn't that long ago, it was amazing how far Luna was coming despite that. They had a further road to go and an entire world to experience. First, though they had to win the league, Smirking at her own thought of being Champion, Lusitania shaded her eyes and looked up towards the sky. "One day" she whispered to herself as her eyes darted down to Luna. She muttered something quietly under her breath.
Suddenly the bush Luna was playing with rustled causing Lusitania to instinctively hop to her feet and drop everything. "Who do we have here." She asked cheerfully as she stared at the rustling bush. Something to break the boredom perhaps? While she waited for everyone to catch up.
"Ahhh there they go...", was all he commented as he watched the police chase the troublemakers away. It was an almost humorous site. Regardless they were now in possession of their items once more, and can continue their journey. They weren't too far off from Amalgam University. Froakie came out quite a bit damaged from the battle, while Tal's Gastly isn't fit for battle now. Well the best they can do is rest, but the university wasn't too far off.
"Wanna rest here or just keep going to the university? Our Pokemon are a little out of it right now", he asked.
