Tinkerin'
Name:Pipistrelle/ Rea Flavia (Real Name)
Age:1900 years, give or take. (Turned vampire in the equivalent epoch of Rome in this setting). Appears to be 11.
Year Turned: 116.
Height:4'3''
Weight: Mind your business (but she looks waifish).
Race: Nosferatu.
Gender: Female
Appearance: Rea looks like a somewhat thin and lite young girl with pale skin. She has straight black hair which she keeps waist-length and whose front bangs more than often hide her eyes when she's looking down. She more than often embraces the gothic dressing style, with black dresses, stockings, and even black gloves. She usually ties the back of her hair with a black ribbon. Her eyes are a dark brown, and she posseses a dark, inquisitive stare. She usually carries a cellphone with her, and six knives hidden under the skirt.
Sexuality: Lolnope.
Personality:Pipistrelle is... the eternal trickster. Even she's not sure what she wants, but she abhors utter boredom. She likes to just mess enough with things to make her unlife a little more lively. A surprising defender of the status quo, she often likes to barter information with the different factions, or flat out help them in proxy wars. Even so, she lacks the utter viciousness and brutality of most vampires, and rarely takes fatal victims, as she prefers to feed from the willing.
However, deep beyond this rogue lackadaisacal attitude, Pipistrelle hides the careful ruthlessness that has allowed her to survive centuries. If she ever perceives a threat towards her, she will either flee or crush the opponent mercilessly should she show an opening. It appears that she also harbors some fascination with the Elders, although not everything can be taken for granted with her.
Biography: Born in Imperial Rome to a wealthy family, Rea was given a good education and was expected to fulfill her family's obligations. However a night visit by an stranger who had been sheltered under her home changed everything. She could not believe it at first, but soon incredulity gave in to terror when the stranger's fangs closed on her neck, draining her of blood and ending her life quickly and brutally without struggling.
Or that's how she would have thought it would end. She...woke up afterwards, extremely thirsty. Wobbly and cold. Water didn't seem to quench her thirst. She sought her parents for help, but when she met with their gazes, they answered with horror. They called her a revenant, and repudiated her in disgust. Her mother ran away in tears, while his father drew a sword and tried to kill her. The cut went from shoulder to hip, but almost no blood splattered. Somehow her body was dead... but she still felt it. The pain, the burning thirst. She blackened out. When she regained her senses, her own wounds had healed, but her mouth was full of blood- that of her father's who laid now limp on the floor, a huge gash on his neck. Rea felt strong revulsion, as she kneeled to her father's side, and drawing the sword... tried to fall on top of it.
But she didn't die. All it heard was the hysterical laugh of the stranger as she pulled the sword out of her own guts, confused. The wounds were sizzling, repairing themselves. The man was sitting in a peculiar slouching position, the drained corpse of her mother. She felt furious... and drew her sword against him.
She was blown across the room, a chuckle escaping his lips. "That wasn't too bad kid. As entertainament. I wanted to see what happen if I created a child Nosferatu." He added, as he bent the sword with his bare hands, in a display of strength. "I was going to...dispose of you afterwards, but I shall not. You're plucky. I do like that. Come to find me... when the centuries make you weary." And without a word, the stranger disappeared.
Pipistrelle's earlier centuries of unlife were a neverending struggle for survival. Underdeveloped with respect of other vampires, all she could do was hide and scrounge what she could find, and keep exercising her wits and tricks, until the potency of her vampiric abilities allowed her to overcome her frail body. By then, however, she had gotten so used to the trickery, she found herself odd not practicing it, and she decided to keep doing what she had done, but this time with more ambitious goals like information brokering and puppet playing.
After the first millenia of existence, rumours about her started to circulate. About how she had been in touch with elders. She never proved or disproved them, but the rumour alone made Pipistrelle be considered as someone to be careful around. Which didn't make her too much happy, but at the very least it deterred some young hotshots. She also saw the birth of the Compact and the Covenant, which she found herself aiding more often than not, if not because a lot of the young hotshots had a bad habit of antagonizing the human Covenant. Pipistrelle only helped their downfall, maybe just a little. Of course, recent times have gotten more tricky, with the radicalization of human factions.
But they're still pretty interesting times. She wondered if she would spot the Elders during such changes...
Faction/Side: Her own - Probably the Elders, but nobody really knows. She is inclined to favour Covenant for some obscure reason.
Abilities:
Bat Bond: Pipistrelle's little helpers. She can understand their screeches and can command them to be her eyes and ears in the night. They're usually too small and weak to be useful in combat but sometimes they can offer valuable distractions.
Bat Form: Pipistrelle can assume the form of a bat. She is highly proficient in it, and she can survive an entire month in this form with only the nourishment of bugs. She must consume blood after a month though. And It won't carry her clothes with her, so it's best to make an escape or to make an aerial reconnaisance.
Tyrant's Gaze: Pipistrelle can enforce commands through her gaze to mortals, and even vampires. Only the oldest or the ones with insane willpower are safe from being influenced. However, even still they will probably feel an overwhelming pressure emanating from the vampire. She can also use telepathy and read other's thoughts, again with brutal efficience. As one of her trumph cards, she uses this ability sparsely.
Skills:
Acrobatics: Small body+Vampiric speed+ Centuries of practice of jumping and running around = The wondrous backflipping flying girl.
Computer Skills: Surprisingly, Pipistrelle chose to run forward rather than look backward like most Vampires. Given her status and relative frail body, she finds herself a good match for the era of information.
Stealth: Pipistrelle also knows when not to announce herself. Given her nimbleness, it's very hard to spot her.
Dagger Throwing: A self-defense discipline, Pipistrelle has practiced how to toss knives around. While they aren't the most impressive weapon, they are often a good distraction to keep opponents at bay.
Strengths:
Ancient Vampire: Pipistrelle's vampiric abilities are sensibly more potent than most vampires due to her advanced age. Her regeneration is fast and vigorous, her senses are keener than most, and her reflexes are off the charts. However, her frail body prevents exerting her full strength, so vampires centuries younger than her will have little trouble in outmuscling her.
Nimble: Due to her lithe and light body, Pipistrelle is a graceful and quick acrobat, able to climb and jump rather well, as well as squeeze through small holes.
Cunning: Pipistrelle has a very sharp mind, what has enabled to survive 19 centuries with a stunted body. She is able to learn new skills and improvise on the spot, and she can often plan a lot of steps ahead.
Weaknesses:
Typical Vampire weaknesses: Sunlight actually weakens her and may cause her to pass out... even starting to burn if the exposure is prolonged. Holy items also may burn her and weaken her. A stake to the heart will flat out send her in a state of apparent death (and thus open to kill her by decapitation).
Stunted body: A child's body isn't as durable as an adult one, and as such she can't bring the full potential of it despite her age.
Garlic Revulsion: She can't stand the smell of Garlic. She never could as a mortal.
