Will it be possible to play natives of the new world?

Hmm I mean you could I suppose, although you would be severely under powered when compared to the players. Its something to think about.

Well for now I can get some rough ideas going and kinda help shape up the start; however, I have a dear friend coming over the beginning of next week so I certainly won't be starting any role plays until after they're gone.

So I was thinking the guild, be it one that was just bought for the final hurrah or a more permanent one would be interesting to make as a floating one, maybe equipped with a magical transporter down to the surface. Having a high flying building appear would certainly start some interesting rumors. The other thing of course is where should the starting point be, which country should be our location of origin? No matter what location waves will be made but certainly the reception will be very different depending on the area we start in, especially depending on what type of race your avatar is.

The theocracy is a risky bet it would be best to start somewhere else. As for the actual guild itself I believe it would be best to just have some sort of castle, or underground base. A floating castle ala runescape may prove difficult to actually get back to without magic.

I'm down for this. I tried running an Overlord RP myself a year or two ago but scheduling and IRL stuff kinda ruined it :P

I suppose that's true. Although one of the cooler things I always found in the series was how the people of the New World reacted to Ainz Ooal Gown and the others. Especially people like Brain and the emperors forces later on in the Light Novels.

Also the dynamic between Climb and Sebas was pretty interesting I wish there would have been more of that.

But a Player would probably be the better choice haha. If we were able to create a side character or something then a New Worlder would probably be pretty cool.

Gender: [Male, Female, or N/A for certain races]
Character Level: [1-100]
Alignment: [-500(extremely evil) -> 500(extremely good)]
Racial Class: [For example Momonga is an Overlord/Elder Lich/Skeleton Mage. Human races don't have this.]
Job Class: [Only need the main class that most closely fits your character but can include all the classes if you want]

Weaknesses:
Equipment/Abilities Worthy of Note: [Only include equipment/abilities here that would be considered game-changing. Player characters are all quite strong and have lots of abilities and equipment so only put very unique things here. No world-class items though.]
How a normal human would view me:

Quick rundown of race types: Human, Demi-human, or Heteromorphic.
1. Human races include elves and dwarfs and have no racial levels. This makes them able to be more versatile job wise, have the access to most kinds of equipment plus the highest quality equipment, and no overt weaknesses or strengths outside of their build path.
2. Demi-human races include most [insert here] men species like lizard men, rabbit men, etc. They have better base stats than most but equipment types can become limited.
3. Heteromorphic races include species considered very removed from humanity, even if they were originally human like skeletons. These races tend to get the strongest racial benefits but also the worst racial weaknesses as well. Because of their often unique body structures or racial attributes equipment types can be very limited and certain things like armor types nonexistent all together.

Hmm, I'll see about getting a CS up sometime either later tonight or tomorrow.

I'm thinking about two characters, if possible. A Blood Knight/Berserker & Holy Knight duo...

Might need to read up a bit on Overlord Lore.

I hope this is alright I couldn't go into too much specifically about Chad's avatar as the Cs is rather limited in terms of what you want where.

Behind the Avatar
Name: Chad Harrison
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Bio:
An American player of the game Chad Harrison started his journey at the start of the very game itself. He, and his friends from college use to play it very frequently back when he was younger but as his time, and live began to change so did his play time. However despite his slow declining interest in the game he still made a rather strong reputation in game. He was one of the founding members of a guild known as Knightfall dedicated to PVE Combat, and fighting bosses. They were known for setting records, or beating bosses in challenging ways such as using joke weapons. Chad in real life was a simple average american nerd who very much enjoyed rpg's, and roleplays. He took this game as a way of escaping from his real life's boring nature as he had little social schools. He chose to become a paladin to fill out the roll of tank on his teams as in real life he held little interest in religion whatsoever.

Chad earned his reputation of power leveling for whole days at some points even streaming his attempts at fighting bosses with his bare minimum group members. He also sometimes roleplayed as the knight of the white lord, a boss that was discontinued, as he worshiped the being as a god (fictionally not in real life, and in game he technically had to worship traditional gods). Though he never truly became legendary his reputation was what brought him back time, and time again to the game despite many times over considering quitting the game. It was near the end of the game where he 'adopted' two NPCs named Alexander, and Elise from one of his real life best friends who didn't want his work to be put to waste. He also had one NPC he made himself for his guild called Athens.

Chad decided that he was going to quit the game for good two months before the game was officially announced for termination. However he decided to come back one month before the game ended for one last run. Despite most of his guild members, and friends no longer playing he wanted to make the most of the game for old times sake. He would be glad to finally put down this game for good and move onto normal everyday life. However his life would soon come to change itself for better, or worse.

Race: Human
Gender: Male
Racial Class: None
Character Level: 87
Job Class: Fighter - Subclasses: Paladin - Duelist
Fighting Style: Tank - Damage Dealer - Debuffer

Chad typically standards his ground and uses his heavy power, and bulk to ware down enemies and withstand damage, or block it. He casts holy spells, or debuffs that hamper the enemy while hacking away at them. Preferably his standard method of fighting are medium, and heavy slashes with his primary sword. His secondary weapon only comes out when his standard style of combat fails. He discards his tank nature (along with his shield) and swings quickly, and efficiently with his swords like a tornado of death but he is still much slower than standard rogue, or dual wielder specialists. His approach to combat is always simple and straight forward: Overpower, weaken, and destroy the enemy in front of him. Failing that survive, and win by attrition.

Strengths:

Chad built his character with the intent on taking damage while dealing it out (in lesser forms) as a traditional tank. Future upgrading of the character saw the inclusion of parts of the dual wielding tree as a part of his skill sheet as he choose to take versatility over the redundancy of having too much defensive capabilities on top of his already ridiculous defensive skill set.

He is capable of using traditional paladin magic that both puts heavy debuffs undead, and evil characters and heal minor wounds. He himself is also strong (defensively) against damage oriental type of magics as paladins typically are known as mage killers, or undead destroyers.

He is one of the few fighter classes that focuses on magic to work alongside traditional blade work which weakens stamina but lets him use some basic traditional paladin style magic arts along side his swordsmanship skills.

Chad is highly resistant to mental manipulation magics due to his paladin class. You either completely break his mind, or you don't break him at all.

Chad is capable of enchanting weapons temporarily with holy enchantments allowing him to effectively empower his party against evil, or undead creatures. This blessing does not extend against good characters, and does not offer extra damage to humanoid enemies whom are not evil rendering the enchantment rather pointless against anything other than the given enemies.
Weaknesses:
Lacks speed with a heavy focus on straight up combat, and taking damage while hampering the enemy Chad's avatar lacks the speed to keep up with quicker enemies.

He lacks true long ranged attacks his strongest ranged attacks go to medium range at best. His dual wielding skill set is only that of a low level dual wielder specialist he only took the skill set as a back up in case either a player was unable to make a raid or his tanking abilities weren't working in the situation at hand.

He lacks the ability to dispel, or otherwise neutralize very high tier magics though he can weaken the blows through his own subclass abilities.

More than some others numerous strong opponents will overwhelm him if he is not supported properly. While he can last against many foes he needs the assistance of others when it comes to fighting more than two actually high leveled/strong adversaries.

Like most paladins he is unable to sense hostile intentions rather simply just evil in itself. A morally good individual is capable of fooling his 'detect evil' passives.

Equipment/Abilities Worthy of Note:
Armor of the Fallen Knight: A set of white, and gold armor that provides excellent but balanced defensive abilities between magical, and physical attacks. It hinders movement but not by much which makes it a tremendous asset to the wielder.

Sword of the White Lord: A rare sword dropped by a strong boss. It is a singular sword that assists with magic casting, and deals extra damage to mages, undead, and evil characters in the form of continuous bleeding damage. It is very balanced allowing for both heavy, and light attacks. It takes the appearance of a majestic silver sword with a golden hilt, and diamond pommel. Good/neutral characters are not effected by the extra effects of the sword.

Sword of the Archangel's Wrath: Chad's spare sword he uses in his twin blade style. Compared to everything else Chad uses this blade is less about dealing debuffing, and or extra damage to his enemies through spells this blade is capable of bypassing armor score and dealing direct physical damage. It holds no other bonuses and is only just above a traditional steel sword in terms of quality. A poor weapon compared to most end game gear but a good hold over for certain occasions. It takes the shape of a worn silver sword with runes written on the blade.

Aegis of the Unspoken God: Part of a exclusive limited time event this shield negates, and or weakens most magical attacks thrown at it. It was and still is a very rare item. It takes the form of a grotesque black, and grey shield with a spike in the middle that can be used for piercing damage.

Hand of God: Fallen Angel's Wrath Unleashed - Chad's strongest spell that causes a massive, and devastating AOE damage to everyone in the vicinity of a small town. It takes a long charge time and costs half of Chad's remaining health, and mana. It deals even more damage to undead. The spell requires Chad to kneel on the ground and pray to his chosen deity. He remains defenseless during the time when casting this spell. He also can't cast it from too far away he must be near the blast, or even in the direct vicinity of the blast itself though he himself takes little damage from the blow (otherwise the spell would be unusable if casted in the area). It is holy magic of the highest sort not quite world level but close to it.

[Only include equipment/abilities here that would be considered game-changing. Player characters are all quite strong and have lots of abilities and equipment so only put very unique things here. No world-class items though.]
How a normal human would view me: A valiant knight with a bizarre aura.

I tried to keep the sheet fairly limited since it is based on an MMORPG world and I don't want people to get dragged down in the details and the millions of things that often go with MMOs. I did notice I kinda forgot an important detail that I shall quickly add, your avatar's level before the big switcher-roo.

@IceHeart What are your opinions on possible part-dragon characters, or those who gained dragon attributes/status or such via magic? Would such things be allowed? Discouraged? Forbbiden?

I know dragons are pretty powerful by YGGDRASIL or New World standards, so i wanted to ask this ahead of time to make sure.

(And now i am headed to bed, because i got on here to post this due to not being able to sleep)

Wait...are we actually using classes from the series? Because that might be a bit of a problem for me, since I'm not entirely sure what those classes would exactly entail. If so, I'd be willing to change what I have here as far as the class name goes if it's already covered...but looking at the wiki, I am not sure what these abilities would fall under.

Anyways, a CS. I feel I may have gone slightly overboard with the abilities, but eh. If I need to change anything I will.

@Rune_Alchemist Quick tip: Demons count as a heteromorphic race in Overlord (especially since they have to evolve, normally starting as an imp) rather than demi-human.

@IceHeart So... I kind of spotted a small issue with the form of the sheet. The concept of sub-classes is kind of inadequate for the setting, since your classes in YGGDRASIL are independent of each other and level individually, making it possible for an individual to mix main classes in unique ways and stuff like that. I'd say that maintaining the level distribution for races and classes would be more tidy, and we can always fill the unneeded parts with an "Others" like they do in the sheets shown in the novel.
Also, adding a Karma level would be cool since it effectively changes the player mentality according to the novel.
