Magic is continuing to decrease at a steady pace. Scientists all over the world are working in unison to understand why magic is suddenly decreasing, witches and wizards are performing rituals of large scales to call the Ancients but they do not answer they're calling. Cities and towns have begun reserving bunches of mana for the populace, walls have been built around major towns and cities as mysterious beings have been forming around the earth killing whole towns and magical creatures. Alongside this the faeries have been silent, their constant loud noise and carefree personalities are silent for the first time in the world and it's scaring everyone.

Though in the midst of all this chaos, you feel a sudden surge of power that you've never felt. For some reason your magic is now more potent, you can cast the most advanced spells that you've never been able to cast. Why? Soon after you discover this you receive a letter from an old wizard. A wizard that has existed since the magical war and now he is calling you to his side. What do you do?

A woman flies down from the sky, landing as she calmly walks over to you and as she stands in front of you she hands you a letter that smells of flowers. "It's urgent. " She says with a quiet voice as she turns, suddenly disappearing in a dramatic flash.

The letter reads...

We are in a dire need of strength, of magic. And you out of all people have been chosen to hold a power that has never been seen before. A mysterious entity has given you an immense power and has chosen you to be his warrior, though the very entity that has given you that said power is extremely dangerous and evil. This entity, this evil being is not known but he is the reason why you lack magic. This mysterious entity has been draining your mana for years keeping himself alive with the magic of others. We think that after all magic has disappeared that this entity will possess your bodies and claim you as his warrior, forcing you to fight for him and possibly take lives and destroy cities. To stop this from happening you have been invited to be protected by a powerful magician known as, Tohru. Under his protection, he will teach you how to manifest your power to make it your own, to protect yourself from the unknown, from the evil that has been lurking ever since your birth. If you do accept, prepare yourself, pack and inform your family. After that simply rip the letter and you'll be transported to the mansion where Tohru currently resides.

Sincerely, Elizabeth.

Mirabelle Kingston
As Mira pulled her locks forward, her fingers deftly braided it over her shoulder and to the length of her belly button. She eyed her handiwork in the mirror, a bright pastel blue against the darkness of her black clothes; and for just a moment, she smiled. According to some, her heavy eyeliner and boots and dark nails took away from her natural beauty, but she quite pleased with her appearance. After one final once over of her reflection, she picked up her phone and handheld. She dropped the handheld into a small leather bag and threw it over her shoulder, turning to leave her room.

The young woman walked slowly to the living area of her home, nose in her phone. "Mom? I'm leaving for the bus," she called only to immediately flinch when the reply came from beside her.

"I'm right here! And you'd know that if you looked up from that thing ever," her mother laughed, wrapping her arms around Mira in a hug. "Be careful. I love you."

Mira sighed, returning the hug after pulling her arms free from the woman's grip. "Yeah, I love you too. I'll be back in a couple of days. Text me if I get anything in the mail," she said seriously as she pulled away, dropping her phone into her pocket.

"Of course, of course," she responded, waving her hand dismissively. They exchanged goodbyes and Mira waved as she walked out the front door and onto the sidewalk, settling deep purple headphones over her ears.

Mira never made it to the bus stop. She was surprised by a woman yet again as she stopped before her, handing her a piece of paper. Mira's brows furrowed, but the woman disappeared as she pulled her headphones off. "Eh?" Mira's violet gaze quickly flickered about. As she regained her composure and glanced down to the letter, her mind jumped to hopeful conclusions: maybe it was from the beauty school she had applied to. Although the method of delivery was a little strange for such a place, Mira struggled in that short moment to figure out why anyone would contact her this way. The answers, of course, were in her hand.

As she read, bits of her memories ran through her head. She had sat among other Kingston children, unable to produce simple magic. And the magic she did unleash was often embarrassing. She had changed her delicate fingers into nasty claws. She had caught her beautiful hair on fire. She had even made herself appear more elvish, her ears becoming even more pointed and her cheekbones prominent--desiring to fit in among her family. And they had laughed. She was an embarrassment to the Kingstons, and for all her life magic had only helped to solidify that point. Anxiety swelled and the music pouring from her headphones was suddenly too loud.

Mira scrambled with her phone to tap the sound off. With a shaky breath, she read the rest of the letter...and relief flooded over her. It wasn't her fault. It wasn't her fault that she struggled with magic while others around her excelled. And now she was being offered the chance to reclaim what was lost. She looked ahead, she could see the bus stop a few blocks up. She could continue and wait to be taken to the Kingstons, where they will at best ignore her. Or she could prepare for a new adventure. It was the easiest decision of her life. Mira tore the paper in half.

The day started out great! The semester was finally over, and it was only yesterday he received his Associates Degree. That still wasn't enough, though, he still needed another 4 years, but at least this was a major point in his career. Unfortunately, tuition was pretty expensive, and he needed to save up before starting his next semester.

He walked out of his house, to check the mail. He still lived with his parents, as he only had a part time job, and was paying most of his tuition. He really didn't like the idea of having student loans to pay off, and tried to keep his debt to a minimum. Right now, he was debt free, but would likely need to take out a bit to get started on the next year.

Reaching the mailbox, he looked inside. Nothing. Well that really wasn't unusual. He began heading back, when a winged woman seemed to descend from the sky in front of him. "What in the Goddamn-" He was cut off by the woman, who pushed a letter to him and simply said, "It's urgent", and disappeared.

Well that was... anyways, he began to read the letter. So that tentacle thing last year was likely said mysterious entity. Or worse, it wasn't. It looks like this Tohru guy was going to teach them magic. And something about saving the world? Well, at the very least, this could be an opportunity to explore unknown wonders. It sounded like a great idea!

He ran back inside the house to his mother getting ready to leave for work. "Uh... hey mom. I have to leave for a while.
It's... school related. I don't know when I'll be back."
His mother smiled at him. "Another 'adventure' huh? All right. I'll tell your father. Stay safe, ok hun?" Alex nodded, and his mother left.

He ran to his room and began to pack things into a Satchel. A set of clothes, his wand, and a notebook. He assumed there'd be food and stuff there, but he might need money. He grabbed his wallet and looked inside. $44. Well, it might help. He put the strap of the satchel on his shoulder and held out the letter. "Well, here goes!" He ripped the paper in half, and watched as he was once more enveloped by a bright flash.

Cerrad Toh

Cerrad began another day of work.

He attended the customers, organized rolls of fabric, jotted down orders, patched up torn clothes, lost a needle, took inventory, found a needle, updated the catalogue for the current season, attended more customers, prepared orders for supplies, got mistaken for a woman, lost the same needle again, hesitantly said a few goodbyes, closed up shop, and sighed, before his eyes darted to a corner of the store. He found the same needle again.

The members of Tembrot village ate an enormous meal once a day with as many of their kin as possible, and today Cerrad shared his daily feast with his mentor, like he had every other day for the past several years. They ate from a large wooden bowl of assorted nuts and dried fruits, before moving on to salted corn and bread. Meat was the centerpiece of every Tembrot meal, but the two barely made enough money; they’d have to skip it again.

Cerrad gingerly sipped from a bowl of tea and spoke in an annoyed tone as he had done many times before. “The Tatteks stopped by this morning, their child tore his uniform playing with the bulls again. I even reminded him to be more careful the last time we met, can you believe that? I just think that they should stop being so lenient with that sort of behavior. In a few years I bet he'll star—“

His mentor grumbled and raised his head all the way up, a sign that he was going to begin his pre-sleep nap. Sir Abiert was an old man who spoke an average of ten words a week, and the two rarely had conversations beyond Cerrad listing off the orders that needed to be finished for the day. Cerrad swallowed his words, relaxed, and stood up with their bowls now that dinner was unceremoniously over. “May I go outside to practice?” He said, in a gentler tone than usual, “I’ve recently reduced the number of coils that need to be created in order for a successful summon of my familiar, which will undoubtedly hel—“

“Go ahead.” The old man grumbled.

Cerrad had finished his explanation for the letter in his hand after a long and painstakingly detailed account of what had happened when he stepped foot outside, with bits on his childhood and the importance of magic peppered in for good measure. He ended it by glaring for the first time in his life at his mentor, hoping that he would reject the letter and point out how stupid it was.

“Go ahead.” The old man grumbled. Again.

The young earth mage sat on the floor with a pair of scissors in his shaking hands. Part of him was excited at finally being a talented magician, yet another part of him refused to believe that angel-women falling from the sky distributing magic pamphlets was a suitable form of recruitment. His plan was to snip the corner of the letter, pretend that nothing happened, and continue with his life, even if the letter addressed to his family and the packed bags around him told a different story. He cut a sliver of paper and shut his eyes as hard as he could.

Walt Grismer

This was the worst day that could have been, Walt and his three brothers stood with there Aunt, the woman was crying, she was dressed in black as the rest of them were, and Walt stepped forward, looking upon a casket, draped with a flag. Not three days ago, Walt's father was shot and killed by a mugger that he had been following, things turned sideways when the mugger was followed back to find he was part of a larger mob family, there he was killed and left to be found by wandering joggers in a nearby park. Walt walked away from the funeral and from his Aunt, she was a nice lady but with her being the only living family he had left he wasn't really looking forward to going through this again.

Walt leaned against a tree and reached behind him, he pulled his replica cap gun from his belt, a toy that he had been given as a child, it was the pride he held still for what his father had done, and what he aimed to do, that, and currently it is still his main focus for casting his magic. Walt could hear something coming, the enhanced hearing his earring provided made that easy, but as the messenger landed in front of him, and was met with the orange cap of his cap gun.

"What do you want? Are you from Nina?"

The woman held out a letter, and merely whispered, "It's urgent." What that meant was unclear of course, and when he took the letter and the woman left as quickly as she arrived. Walt opened the letter, an invitation, a cause, something that he could stand for and fight for. Was it fate? His father was never one to turn down an opportunity like this, it was a big case with huge consequences, all he had to do was tear the letter. Three brothers and his Aunt, not being around could help his Aunt handle the new life she was kind of being forced into, but so could his being there. No, he had to do this, he had to find a way to become a better enchanter, and a better detective.

Walt's Aunt turned to look at him and she noticed the letter in his hand, "Walter, What is that?" She asked, pointing to the letter.

"It's a invitation, a school, they want to teach me magic." Walt said, still looking at the note. "I need to go, I have to do this." he spoke eagerly looking to his Aunt.

The woman gave the boy a hug, "I know you do, I can see your fathers drive in your eyes, I never could stop him either." She let him go and looked at him, a smile and tears on her face. "Go and be the hero, yeah? I will handle things here, don't you worry." She clapped him on his cheek and turned back to the other boys who were now looking at Walt as well. Walt raised his hand and solemnly gave a farewell wave to his family, not knowing how long he would be gone, he grasped the note and tore it and became enveloped by light.

Shuichi

It was a mundane end to an ordinary day. Shuichi had his backpack slung over his shoulder as he walked home from school with his sister. She was tinkering with her gauntlet as she walked, until she finally resorted to percussive maintenance. Shuichi sighed and shook his head. "You're just gonna break it. Everybody's is on the fritz. Global warming probably altered the convection currents which tricked the satellites into changing their orbits and crashing into each other which in turn disrupted the ley line configurations." His sister just gave him an incredulous look. "What, Ayumi? You don't think that could happen."

Ayumi shook her head. "Really? Satellite explosions? How does someone with a 3.8 GPA come up with this stuff?"

Shuichi just shrugged, and continued walking. Nobody had any better ideas at the moment about why things were going so crazy, so he figured it was as good as any. Though, it was a magical problem, so maybe it had a magical cause and not a scientific one. Or maybe the government had a secret project that used up too much magic and was keeping it a secret. Or maybe-- Ayumi yanked on his shirt just before he walked into a pole. "Wha? Oh, thanks sis."

Ayumi rolled her eyes. "You'd be roadkill by now if it wasn't for me." But, just as the two of them approached their house, a women descended from the heavens with a letter for Shuichi. Ayumi's jaw hung open. "Uhh... did I miss something?"

"I don't think so. I mean, I've never seen her before in my life." Shuichi proceeded to read the letter.

"Well, what's it say?"

Shuichi read, and then reread the letter. Were the things written there true? Surely there wasn't some demon sucking out his personal magic. That had to be a mistake. But, were the recent problems really being caused by some evil being? "I... I don't know if I'm at liberty to discuss it. I mean, it doesn't say classified... and I don't see a government seal on it."

As Shuichi rambled on about the letter's origin, Ayumi peaked over his shoulder and gave it a quick read. "Wow. What a bitch. Just because you suck at magic, it doesn't mean they have to make up crazy demon stories about it."

"But, it says they want to help me..."

"Yeah, sure. Probably for the low, low payment of whatever you got. I say it's either a scam or a prank, and it's not very good whatever it is."

Shuichi let out a sigh. "Yeah, you're probably right. Dad'll probably yell at me for even reading a letter like this. I mean, it doesn't even have a return address. Now I feel like an idiot. I'll get rid of it before they even see it." And with that, Shuichi tore the letter in half.

"What did I tell you about that?!"

A surprising boisterous voice came from the little old woman as she came behind Charlize in the backyard shed, the doors swung open letting in the sun. With an abrupt turn, "I didn't do it Grandma!" The sandy brown haired girl pleaded with her doe eyes; the shade of honey. Her grandmother wasn't convinced, ever since magic was becoming so drained she had gotten rid of Charlize's Gauntlet quickly and banned every bit that she could from her household, it might has well be a toxin at this rate. "Don't lie to me girl!" her grandmother spoke again, sternly.

Truth be told Charlize had been reading about and trying to practice magic in private in the shed for months now. Without her Gauntlet it was pretty useless, sometimes she could get a chant correct but the outcome didn't seem to be strong enough to be considered correct. Today had been different though. It didn't seem like anything special when she had woken up. She helped her grandmother make breakfast as usual, the two sat together over a hot cup of coffee to start the day off along with their oatmeal. But as the two split off from one another as they went about their own schedule, Charlize started to go back into her researching until something actually came from it.

Her usual attempt at a ball of light incantation. Instead of it just being a little spark, it was a burst of light like a camera flash. "Holy!" the girl said, repeating the process as the light became more steady and became like a part of her fingertips. It was then the moment was brought to present, the women looking to one another in confusion and slight anger. Before Charlize could tell her grandmother what was going on they were met with another person.

"What are you doing in my ya-"

"It's urgent. " The woman interrupted the grandmother and left as fast as she came, but not before handing Charlize a letter. While her grandmother was slightly dazed, Charlize took the time to read the letter, skimming things but barely able to read the entire thing before her grandmother snatched it from her hands. The old woman read it herself before shaking her head, "Nonsense, it's all nonsense!" she yelled. The part that Charlize had mustered to read and remember was the last part.

rip the letter

rip the letter

Quickly Charlize grabbed the letter back and ripped it promptly in half whilst her grandmother looked in shock. Before she even could get out a goodbye or receive one in return she was embraced with a light much brighter than one that had ever come from her own finger tips.

Vincent Wolfram

"294... 295..."

Vincent was laying on his bed, staring at the ceiling as he continued to count his jumping sheep. He was trying to get back to sleep because he found out he woke up as the sun rose at the horizon. He didn't know how long was he laying on his bed and trying so hard just to get back to sleep.

"296... 297..."

His family mustn't catch him awake at this time of the day because he knows one of his family members will bug him to join them. His whole family once tricked him into coming with them for their morning jog only to find out they do a series of extreme push-ups, sit-ups, tightrope, and a whole lot more extreme work-out exercises. Unsurprisingly, his whole body ached like there's no tomorrow.

"298... 299..."

He was midly startled at the knocking on his door. His door flew open and his sister greeted him. Rather, screamed at him. "RISE AND SHINE, SLEEPY HEAD! IT'S BEAUTIFUL DAY TODAY! C'MON WAKE UP-", her morning greeting/screaming was interrupted when Vince threw a pillow right at her face.

"Hmm", he grunted as he stared at his sister.

She threw his pillow right back at him. "C'mon little bro, get your pink tush out of your bed! It's the weekend! You should really join us, you know. A little jogging never hurt anybody", she said.

Vince sat up groggily and sleepily rubbed his eye. "Hmm", he grunted before he yawned, still staring hard at her.

His sister sighed. Looks like the same trick won't work at him. She sat next to him and put a hand on his shoulder. "Okay fine. If you don't want to join us then at least keep your promise. You do remember the promise we made to each other right?"

Vince lazily blinked the sleep out of his eyes. He nodded and reached out his arms to hug his sister which she reciprocated. She broke the hug and rubbed his dishelved hair. "Well, I gotta go back to prepping. Can't keep the guys waiting. Just holler if you change your mind, 'kay?", she said before she closed his door and went back to her room.

He stood up, made his bed, and went outside to his balcony as the cool morning breeze greeted him. He looked at up at the sky that's been colored by the hues of the rising sun. Just looking at it made him amazed on how beautiful the world really is. He can only hope he can perfectly describe what he sees right now in his novel.

He also caught a glimpse of something within the clouds. Vince taught it was a bird until he saw it descended and it turned out to be a woman with wings. "It's urgent", she says as she gave him a letter before literally disappearing in a flash.

Vince opened the letter to read the message and suddenly he was sad. He can't leave his family just like that. But he also knows his family wouldn't let him leave until they know more about this stuff. And if what's written in the letter is true, then that means it'll already be too late by the time they did.

Vince quickly retreived his suitcase and packed some of his things that he knew were important, including his phone and laptop. Then he took a shower, dressed up, and wrote a letter for his family and left it at his desk. He knows they know he is a smart boy for his age, and they'll also do whatever they can in their part to get to the bottom of this. He took one last look on his room and his picture with his whole family at his desk. He put his suitcase by his side as he tore the letter and became enveloped with light.

A few moments later, his whole family went upstairs to his bedroom, as a finaly attempt at inviting him to workout, only to find no one there. Instead, a bubble floated in his place where he disappeard. Vincent may never know what kind if emotion this bubble holds, but every member of his family pointed at the bubble at the same time and they knew that it contained love.

Ian A. Graham

Bright screens, whirring, city streets dotted with lights, different landmarks and sights passing by, a sense of searching, a sort of urgency? Magic…There was magic…

“CAW!”

Startled, Ian sat up with a deep inhale, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Feeling a sharp tugging at his pajama sleeve shirt, he looked over to see Raven attempting to drag him out of bed. “All right, all right, I’m going,” he reluctantly threw the blankets off himself and walked sleepily into the bathroom to take a quick refreshing shower. In his mind, that was much better than coffee, the drink River claimed to be superior above all, especially in the morning. The witch was just addicted and didn’t want to admit it, Ian knew. As he stepped out of the shower cabin, he noticed the black raven was perched on a waist-high drawer next to the sink.

“You know that River will blame me if you shed any feathers here again,” Ian complained as he towelled off and dressed for the day, but only got a blink as an answer. With a resigned sigh, he put the towel away for drying, brushed his teeth and combed his hair. “Come on then,” he told his companion, who then promptly flew to his shoulder and seemed content to dig his sharp claws into Ian’s shoulder while being petted then transported around the house. Ian walked downstairs to the kitchen, used to the slight abuse to his shoulder and not particularly minding the fresh scratches he would have there. A digital clock on a wall showed that it was barely past 7 A.M., something he could have guessed easily enough by looking out any of the windows, had they not been obscured. Preferring the natural light, he moved the curtains and spent a few moments observing the steadily brightening morning sky.

A slight tug at his hair broke Ian out of his reverie and he moved to the counters and prepared breakfast, a simple meal of eggs, bacon and bread for two, and brewed a pot of coffee. As if she had somehow known that a fresh delicacy was waiting for her, River shambled out of her room upstairs, looking worse than he had felt waking up, “Thought I smelled coffee,” she mumbled, taking a mug and draining it. As always, Ian found it fascinating how that single cup sent such a spark of life into her eyes, as if she really had been raised from the dead. It truly was a sight to behold on someone still alive.

They ate their meal in companionable silence, and Raven stole a strip of bacon even though he did not, strictly speaking, require food to function. Ian stretched when he was done, jostling the bird on his shoulder while doing so, and getting an annoyed peck in condemnation. River tsked at the raven, but Ian could see her hiding a smirk behind the last cup of her coffee. She was about to stand up, but the teen interrupted her “Let me,” and stood up, clearing the dishes himself. “Aww,” River cooed half-mocking half-serious. “What a sweet-heart you are,” she ruffled his hair playfully when he passed her on the way back. Embarrassed, Ian ducked to evade any further shows of affection, though he was secretly pleased.

“Master,” he said in order to channel the tutor side of her instead of the motherly one. “We have a potion to complete.” She stood up and gave him a knowing look, but allowed the transition. You have a potion to complete, and I have some experiments to perform,” she then headed to their basement, and Ian followed. A few hours of work later, Ian could without exaggeration say, that his intermediate-level potion was perfectly made and gave every indication of being exceptionally potent. And while this made him very glad, of course, it also puzzled him – with mana decrease this should have been…well, not exactly impossible, but…improbable for someone like him, at least. As soon as she was done, Ian gave his potion over to River, and though she was surprised she said only “Well done. Let’s try something more complex next.” Ian did, with the same results – his work was exceptional. Puzzled, but proud, River smiled at him “I don’t know what happened, but your connection to magic might have finally opened fully. Something to do with maturity perhaps?” Ian was unsure…but there was a way of testing it. “I’ll be in the backyard,” he ran out, leaving his guardian to her work.

Out in the sun, in the backyard obscured from passers-by by tall hedges, Ian drew an intricate ritualistic circle in a clear patch of earth, setting various ingredients at various points, then sat in the middle, drew out his wand – he always kept it somewhere on his person – and chanted. For the first time ever, Ian felt the rise of powerful magic. He finished the ritual by adding a drop of his own blood and one of Raven’s feathers to the circle.
Suddenly, there was an explosion of noise. There was cawing everywhere, the flying of birds dizzying and Ian could only watch the scene for a few moments. Raising an army of corpses was a technique any self-respecting necromancer could do, and something Ian had previously been unable to. “Quiet,” he commanded and the infernal noise died down as dozens of black beady eyes turned to look at him from trees, hedges, the house’s and shed’s rooftops, a nearby bench, the floor…The ravens were practically littered around and Ian could feel Raven puffing up on his shoulder, whether in challenge or something else he didn’t know.

And then, amidst the silence of black feathers, a white-winged female descended from the sky, handing him a letter, barely saying anything before disappearing. What… Ian blinked. He supposed the various thoughts warring for attention in his mind might be sorted out by the letter. He opened and read it. What an unlikely explanation…but given all that has happened…Yeah, an evil entity sucking power out of people then giving it to them…So if I suddenly became stronger is whatever apocalyptic plan this thing has near? His musings were interrupted by River’s appearance and exclamation of “Ian!” He looked at her, still sitting cross-legged on the floor, and passed her over the letter. “Oh, this explains so much,” she murmured. “What do you think?” she asked and Ian guessed what she was referring to. “I would love to go but…” after a brief internal struggle, he continued “What about you?” River’s look softened to a fully affectionate one and crossing the few steps separating them, she gave him a brief hug. “I will be fine, son. I have my ways, you know that. Now, let me help you pack. But first, get rid of those infernal noise makers,” she said the last dryly, trying to lighten up the situation.

Two hours later, Ian had everything he could possibly need or want packed in no more than a small black backpack with the essentials, a worn, brown-leather medium-sized suitcase fitting the hard-to-replace arcane items (mostly the tools, but also some ingredients), and a large grey-blue travelling case containing everything else. Raven, the only bird he did not get rid of, was perched on his shoulder. River who made the packing much more efficient was now sitting on his bed, looking tired and somewhat wistful. Ian cleared his throat and initiated a hug, hoping he wasn’t blushing. “Good-bye,” he said, and picked up the letter from his desk, took a tight hold on all of his belongings, and ripped the missive in half.

The neighborhood used to be so lovely. It was the kind of place where newlyweds liked to settle down when the conversation at night turned to talk of children and family rather than platitudes of love and attraction. There was a nice suburban feel to it, and the local school was rated rather highly when it came to exam season; even the nearby Magic School before everything went to hell for magic sorts was a positive spot on the town's reputation. The fact that magic and its practitioners were in a bit of a tizzy at present couldn't mar the neighborhood. However, one girl was making the once idyllic little burg a living, waking nightmare for its residents.

There was an odorous cloud hovering above an otherwise ordinary two-story home situated dead center of the block. The cloud used to be contained to the inside, but ever since the window in the attic opened to air out the source, the cloud and its pungent stench of sulfur and rotten eggs had been in the air for months now. It wasn't even the first incident involving the periwinkle blue home. It started off with minor infractions, the young daughter of the house caught trespassing in the neighbor's yards, digging up soil and digging through trash or snatching some clothing on the wire with the promise of 'bringing it back mostly intact - sorry in tatters'. No one quite knew why, for the first few years she wasn't much of a nuisance, but they could forgive her for just having a wild youth. They were less inclined to forgive when little fires were set in the backyard or when a mild explosion in the early hours of the morning wound up breaking glass and waking up neighbors on a weekend. The sulfur cloud was essentially the last straw, a blight on the community.

Of course, the one who caused those incidents didn't exactly understand why people were so upset. She had no way of knowing for sure but she chalked it up to 'gifted' sorts upset that someone outside their circle was trying to make a difference in the world. She, of course, being the only daughter of the Fashonti family: Rinh - pronounced, as she puts it "Like ring but without the 'gee'." Rinh had been a quiet girl until she learned to speak and after that point all bets were off.

Presently, as with everyday, Rinh was in the attic of her home which she had turned into a laboratory of sorts. There were odd colored liquids in flasks, vials containing materials like grass or insects or water, burners bubbling beakers, and from a particularly large container came the source of the sulfur and egg scent, just another casualty on the road of scientific advancement. Though her bedroom was on the second floor, Rinh basically lived in the attic and had done ever since she was given the best gift of her life.

"You know, Mio was onto something, just a shame they didn't truly see the potential here." Rinh was speaking aloud, as she often did when working, and happened to be speaking about Yunoko Mio the supposed 'genius' who created the device that turned the magical community on its head. Rinh did admire Yunoko Mio while also slightly resenting the person. The admiration came simply from one bright mind to another; though Rinh was but seventeen she considered herself and her mind to put her as a contemporary alongside Yunoko. The resentment came from the fact that the Gauntlet was still aimed and marketed toward those who had magic in their blood already. Rinh and the entire Fashonti Family didn't have that luxury. Rinh couldn't cast a bit of natural magic even if she put her entire being into it, and her parents bought her a Gauntlet for her eleventh birthday hoping that her fascination with magic and the like would end by her twelfth one.

They still hold out hope that her obsession will stop.

Rinh's Gauntlet was unique compared to other Gauntlets on the market. She had taken the damn thing apart when she got it, poked around its insides, and voided the warranty by making modifications to it. She still wasn't able to cast magic in the typical sense, but her first major breakthrough came one morning where she ignited some chemical compounds with only the flick of her wrist. Sure she had to sweep up the broken glass throughout the neighborhood but no one but her understood what this meant. She had done magic by using science. The possibilities had to be endless!

"One day I'm gonna shake their hand and accept my award for advancing the study of magi-science. And I'll try not to rub it in their face." Rinh had her dreams, the same as many youths her age, and those dreams were what kept her cooped up in her attic workshop, testing out combinations, gathering ingredients to break down chemically, and molding herself into the modern version of an alchemist. In the old days alchemists brewed potions and lies; now the only one selling lies were the ones who claimed she couldn't do it.

Rinh removed her goggles and wiped sweat from her forehead. Today's work was coming along nicely. The vials at her hip clinked together as she took a step back to admire the handiwork. She had taken some plants from the neighbor's yard and had managed to reduce them down to just the chemical makeup. She had, in essence, turned flowers into nitrogen and that was something that came with a victory lap. The chemical would go into a vial and in turn be fed into her Gauntlet, but every success came with a grin of satisfaction.

Except for this one which was promptly interrupted by an unfamiliar voice. Rinh spun around and damn near fell over. How did a woman get here? Well the window was open but there didn't seem to be a ladder from what Rinh could see. Then she noticed the wings which were strange enough. It only got stranger when the winged woman then disappeared in a bright flash, leaving Rinh holding a letter and a stunned expression.

"What the-" The scientist opened the letter, as curiosity often dictated actions, and her eyes darted over the text, scoffing as she reached the end of it. "Draining my mana? Puh-lease. Only 'mana' I have is normal blood. Probably someone's idea of a joke. And here I thought my genius was going to be recognized...without actually revealing my work...somehow. Doesn't matter. What matters is this letter is a joke and I'm not laughing."

Rinh didn't rip the letter nor did she toss it aside. Her reaction was a bit more incendiary. Paper often contained useful compounds. Carbon. Hydrogen. Oxygen. But she wasn't interested in breaking the letter down like she was with other materials. Rinh instead tossed the letter in front of her, did a spin for flourish, and thrust her right hand forward, fingers extended, and from her gauntlet came a burst of flame, igniting the compounds she had stored inside. The letter went up in flames, dropping to ash on the attic floor.

Rinh did not join the ashes in the attic. As soon as she had ignited the letter in a show of defiance, she was engulfed by a bright light without so much as a warning.

Luther Miller

A heavy sigh escaped Luther as he rounded his streets corner and rubbed his freshly bruised cheek. He mumbled a few silent curses of annoyance as he thought back to the lucky shot a certain sneaky thug had gotten in a little while ago. If he wasn't finishing off his friend Luther would have seen it coming, but sadly he suffered for his lack of awareness. As he thought on his mistake a small smirk came to his face as few groans came from around the corner he had just came around. It didn't matter much now anyway, the issue had been resolved. With a chuckle he buried his hands into his jackets pockets and continued his walk home. He let his eyes travel along the familiar scene of his neighborhood. The apartment buildings that lined the street were somewhat covered in graffiti of several different images. Some funny, some beautiful and some just upsetting. A small frown came to Luther's face as he spotted a few of the buildings with a couple of tagged symbols on them, these were buildings owned by the local gangs. As he passed these buildings he would always see groups of four or five thugs guarding the entrance all the while giving him a challenging and dirty looks. Luther ignored them and just continued on.

The gang activity has grown in the past three years and is slowly spreading towards his home. Luther wanted to do something about it, but his brother keeps telling him to stay out of it and let the authority's take care of them. His frown deepened at the situation and sighed. Sooner or later they would have to deal with this, it just annoyed him that Ken wouldn't let him deal wit it now. Before he could continue his walk though he was stopped by a strange sight from the corner of his eyes. He glanced up and raised an eyebrow as he saw a strange girl land in front of him and walk towards him calmly. As she approached him a few of the thugs guarding a tagged building hooted and hollered wishes and praises of her looks. Luther rolled his eyes before looking down at a letter she had handed him. "It's urgent," she whispered before taking a step back and disappearing in a bright flash.

Luther just stared at the spot where she use to be with slight confusion before shaking his head clear and looking at the letter that smelled of flowers. He was about to open it before the blare of sirens filled the streets. He looked back and saw a squad car stop behind him. Soon an officer stepped out and looked to Luther with a blank look and held up a pair of cuffs. Luther rolled his eyes and stuffed the letter into his pockets before raising his hands up. "Hey Frank," Luther mumbled as the officer named Frank approached him and placed him under arrest.

"Another brawl Luther? Fourth one this week, Ken is gonna have a fit," he chuckled as he lead Luther to the squad car and put him into the back. Luther rolled his eyes and laid back in the seat as he glanced at the passenger seat to see another darker skinned officer slightly smirking.

"Really did a number on those guys," the officer named Peters chuckled. Luther shrugged and sat silently as Frank began to drive off towards Luther's street.

A little while later they reached Luther's apartment building and the first thing to be seen was Ken wearing an unamused frown on his face as he waited for Luther. Peter let Luther out from the back, un-cuffed him and patted him on the back with a chuckle. "One of these days you're gonna get hauled off to jail. Try and stay out of trouble buddy," he said before glancing over to Ken. "He's all yours," he said before returning to his squad car. As they left Luther looked Ken with a blank look and shrugged.

"It was just a small disagreement," he mumbled before walking pass Ken and back to their apartment. Ken sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose before following him.

"A small disagreement that put two of them in the hospital," Ken complained. Soon the two brothers entered their apartment and Luther leaned against the kitchens counter top with crossed arms as he looked to Ken who sat down at the kitchen table. There was a moment of silence before Ken sighed. "Luther, you can't keep doing this. Sooner or later your goona either end up in jail, or dead in the streets," Luther rolled his eyes.

"It's not like I start the fights, these pricks keep getting worse and worse. They're either picking a fight with the weak, or causing some other type of chaos. I mean the other day Sarah's kid nearly died from drug over dose and where do you think he got it?" he asked as he jabbed his thumb behind him. "That new freaking gang on the south side of the neighborhood. We can't just let these guys move in," he finished with a frown. Ken sighed deeply and nodded.

"I understand that, but it's not our place to get involved. We aren't the cops, we let them do their jobs. End of story," he said before rising from his seat. "Look, I love you and I will always be their to back you up, but you have to stop this before you end up dead. Just do this for me, alright?" he pleaded with a worried look. Luther sighed and hanged his head low.

"I can't promise anything," he mumbled. Ken sighed and nodded his head with a smirk.

"Well that's a better answer than last time," he chuckled before grabbing his coat. "Alright well I'm heading to work, I won't be back till tomorrow morning so just fix yourself something to eat, alright?" he said before grabbing his keys and leaving the apartment. Luther gave a slight wave goodbye before heading to the living room and plopping down onto the couch. He groaned as he stretched his limbs and sighed as he turned on the TV. As his mind began to drift of into the TV he remembered the strange girl and the letter in his pocket. Most would make that event the top thing on their list, but Luther honestly almost forgot about it. Luther dug out the letter, opened it and began to read. As he read the letter he began to see the importance of it all, but also felt confused as to why he was chosen. Sure he could fight a little, but was he really able to do anything about this? His fingers trembled as he debated if he should tear the paper, but both excitement and hesitation duked it out within his head. Should he leave to become stronger, or stay here and keep out of it? With how things are getting in his community he feels the urge to stay, but if he were to leave then this threat in the letter could potentially cause even more chaos.

After half an hour of debating he finally found his answer and grabbed a piece of paper. He wrote down a letter to his brother and took a deep breath before tearing the paper.

Oops...

The warthog snarled as it kicked dust upwards with a hoof, and glared at Maemi with beady, agitated eyes. Tusks glimmering a dirty white, the warthog prepared to charge at the girl, whom had been slowly backing away in fear of gored into a shish kebab on one of the warthog's tusks. Maemi had ventured into the forest to heal the wounds afflicted by drought, with her magic being a source of nourishment outside of rain.

Nonetheless, she had forgot to factor in any sort of thought that the animals that resided in the forest might be somewhat territorial due to the lack of food, and it was to her luck that Maemi stumbled right onto the feeding grounds of a rather large and vicious warthog.
"Please don't kill me!" Maemi exclaimed as she took off in a full on sprint, despite knowing that the warthog had no inclination of listening nor any understanding of any of the countless human languages.

Loud snorting followed after Maemi once she took off running, and run she did. Maemi ran deeper than she had ever been within the forest, her feet stumbling over various rocks and roots on the path she took. She was certain she was lost, yet with a deadly beast chasing her, Maemi had no time to ask the moss on the trees for which way had been north. Still, despite her best attempt to escape, Maemi's luck had soon run out as she trapped herself in a thick clearing--the warthog blocking her only exit.

Or so Maemi thought until she had the bright idea of climbing a tree.

Finding herself a solid and comfortable branch to hold onto, Maemi made sure to hold onto the branch for dear life whilst the warthog circled the base of the tree, waiting for her to fall down. Pausing for a moment to regain her breath, Maemi looked around to consider her options. Maemi could try climbing to another tree, but that would risk falling and turning into a broken and gored mess on the ground. Alternatively, she could use her magic to escape, although Maemi wasn't certain what existed in this neck of the woods. What if a nuckelavee or some other dangerous beast lurked nearby? It made Maemi shudder as she considered her next action.

More minutes passed as Maemi hung from the branch, struggling to come to a plan on how to escape from the death trap that paced beneath her. Escape begun to seem impossible, yet it seemed someone had finally come to Maemi's aid.
"A... A guardian angel?" Maemi asked the winged woman, who instead of aiding the druid, shoved a letter into her hands on the pretense that it was urgent. Then, in a bright flash of light, the angel disappeared in a blinding spectacle that had forced even the warthog below Maemi to flinch.

So much for escaping... Maemi thought, her eyesight attempting to recover from the sudden flash of light. However, the sudden appearance and disappearance of the angel was soon the least of Maemi's concerns; her attention now diverted to a violent cracking sound. "Uh oh..." The branch was sure to snap, and there was only one way for Maemi to go: down.

Scrambling with her hands, Maemi fumbled with the letter as the branch broke off from the tree. At this rate, Maemi knew she was doomed to a quick death, with probability of surviving minimal--no, death was certain with the warthog prowling the base of the tree. Nevertheless, hope seemed to come at the worst possible moment, as Maemi unknowingly ripped the letter in a panic for a solution or way out of falling to her death. Suddenly encased in another flash of light, Maemi and the branch seemingly disappeared out of thin air to who knows where.

Elizabeth

Elizabeth stood in front of the castle's gateway. Her hand in tight fists as she waits for the arrivals. Her eyes glide towards a taller man, slick blonde hair held back as she could see his eyes intently focused. She frowns, mild thoughts and disappointment ran through her mind as situations of disaster flourished within her headspace, tears started swelling until...

Light

Flashes of light untangling from figures of many sizes. Her face lit up as a large smile formed on her face. She turns to her master, he's already walking forward to the group of confused students some prepared, some damaged, some surprised, though nonetheless, they were here. After years of waiting and everlasting patience, we finally took a stand to stop the chaos from standing. This group here will be the new light, it isn't a step forward it's a dash towards a new door, a door filled with wonders and excitement that'll heal this mana-deprivation, will calm this panic, and will eradicate the monsters forming.

She quickly trotted towards her master, a cane in his hand as he stood in a confident stance. His eyes were lit with a fire she hadn't seen since the war, since the first time they kissed, since... forever. She bit her lower lip in excitement, happy, elated, and proud that people responded to the calling.

Her master exhaled deeply as he stabbed his cane into the ground, light twisted and entangled it, sparkles of various colours wrapped around the cane as it slowly transformed into a beautiful sword. She watched as he raised the sword up, pointing it at the blue sky.

"WELCOME!"

Tohru yelled. Elizabeth shook against his words as a beam of light shot out from the sword's blade and into the sky, the beam split into four wrapping into itself as it created a beautiful bird. Once the bird of light faded away into a puff of sparkles he lowered his sword, forming back into a cane.

"I'm glad you all made it..."

She says shyly, stepping from behind her master as she waved towards the group of the young students. She turns one last time to her master, the tall man walking away. Her master looks at her as he walks away winking with a cocky look on his face.

Romaní Bogart

Time has transpired since the time of his... delivery. The youth of silver locks and crimson iris's stared down at the letter which had been handed down to him by a mysterious force. And entity that in itself demonstrated a sense of power which Romaní was foreign too. In a flash, without warning in the slightest, an entity of light bore its presence before him, a luminous aura veiled it's space, just so such would remove its existence from the reality which it willing traversed into. A myriad of questions arose, nothing seemed coherent and it riddled of mystery. His tongue flicked at the seems of his of disbelief, reading the letter once more before returning to that canvas which roamed his thoughts. Indeed, if there was something that this youth understood, it was the situation the world had been under with the decaying mana source, mages of all types and kind were becoming relics of a different time, but that in itself was unknown as to what was causing it. He believed in many aspects, such as the world going through an extreme shift, the ecosystem would die out and be reborn into a new soil, bringing a new age to the history of man. A thought that terrified that youth immensely... The second was the reason as to why he was chosen. He was a student from a dying art, a race of mages and monks who lived differently than others. Witnessing the tattoo which ingrained it's presence on the back of his hand, pulsating gently into stroke between light and dark, demonstrating a curse and a blessing. The wound of his magical circuit being repaired by a strained he foolishly caused himself.

It just continues to bring up the question: "Why me of all people?" Spoke the boy in tune with his melancholic curiosity. His hands cruised through his hair, stroking each lock to the back of his head in a slick back. Whoever sent this had a plan, but more importantly, he knew something the world didn't. And he chose Romaní as a candidate? "All I need to do is rip the paper, huh?" He was audible about this thought. As if to ward off any doubts. "What would my father say about this? He'd probably be suspicious too." he pressed the letter up to his lips, again he couldn't stop his train of thought. The night would soon clock at mid-night. Tomorrow he needed to present himself in the dojo early morning. He needed to swab the floors and tend to the fields. He didn't have time to waste on this... "I shouldn't trust strangers anyway." He said, throwing the card to the trashcan next to his table. A crack of his neck and fingers before he departed towards his bed. However...

Before he knew it, he turned towards the letter, witnessing it's glow once more. Biting his lip before running once more towards it, picking it up and ripping it to shreds. In a stupor of instinct, before he knew it a light engulfed his entirety, swallowed his essence and triggered his mind to a state of white. He cursed his impulsiveness, before he knew it the scenery before him had changed, the blur he had witnessed once before had now begun to ease into a visual frame. Before him were not one, but many others who seemed unsurprising, damaged excited, but even more so, before them stood two people who from their essence exuded an aura of power and strength. A spectacle was let loose before the youth's eyes, Romaní couldn't understand what stemmed from this power, this was... mana? This was magic! The blade held by the blonde man accessed a potential Romaní didn't think possible from mages nowadays. This was something... it was merely what seemed to be an initiation. He gulped, as if to swallow down the anxiety he sensed welling up on his throat.

After such, a softer much more tranquil voice took the space of attention. The man took his leave, and she began to speak. Her tone demonstrated a sense of relief, almost as if she was hoping for this to happen. The silver haired youth couldn't understand what was happening, he took a step back, as to hide between the many here, silently observing what was occurring before him.

Walt Grismer

Walt looked around at all the faces around him, other people chosen to do whatever in the hell it was that this man was seeking. The display of sheer magical prowess was impressive, but seemed wasteful, but it was as the man started to walk away with the woman, he stood there dumbfounded, do they just go in too? This man has left them no instruction overall, but at this point he wasn't going home, if he could he wouldn't know how, so the only real option is to follow.

As Walt walked forward he moved up to the two, "Hey, uhhh, I'm Walt, uhhh, you got some impressive skills there, are you a teacher or like some kind of welcoming party, dorm admin?" Walt started into a grilling session on the two of them in an attempt to gather whatever kind of information that he could, "Can I get a name if you please, maybe a nice history of the place, or really anything other than the vaguely ominous note of teleporting." However despite the questions the tall man seemed to ignore them and continued walking away leaving him with the smaller girl that had stayed behind

Walt walked without moving his right arm almost at all, his dad always called it the gunslingers gait, he did it so that he could draw his weapon at any moment, and as much as he hoped that this place and all his hopes for it were real, he had to come to grips with the idea that this guy and his little friend were just as dangerous as the things the letter mentions, as such he kept a hand near his cap gun to be ready to fight if it came to it.

Have you ever been on a rollercoaster? You're slowly crawling up into the sky and then there is that brief moment when you reach the peak and you lose your breath. Suddenly you're rocketing down the ramp and your insides are jumbled around like a bag of popcorn in the microwave. Charlize felt sick to her stomach. "Urrgh." she slurred as she came from the light, placed now in front of strangers. She felt like she was going to throw up but swallowed the feeling back down as she closed her eyes for a moment, steadying herself before opening them again. She looked to her left and to her right taking in the group of people that seemed all close to her age.

The loud welcome made Charlize turn her attention quickly to the man who emitted a bright beam of light. The strong beam then split into several sections and then formed what looked like to be a bird. Charlize's mouth gaped in a slight shock, she wanted- no needed to learn how to do that. The girls back home would lose their shit. Charlize let out a playful, "Oooh, ahhh." like people did when they were watching a fireworks show. The young girl was ready for more of a show when a more timid voice spoke up,

"I'm glad you all made it..."

Charlize smiled, this woman seemed nice enough from her book's cover. "Where's he going?" Charlize commented to her peers next to her, nodding her head towards the man leaving. Was he just there for the entrance show? It was a curious display at that. She watched him walk away, his sword now back into a cane as it made rhythmic taps on the ground before him.

Ian A. Graham

As soon as he ripped the letter Ian felt the magic enveloping him and had to shut his eyes against the blinding white light. After that, there was a moment of weightlessness, bizarrely feeling like flight even though there was no specific sensation of movement – in fact, the impression was also akin to standing still, not just in space but in time. Ian wondered whether zero gravity was like that. Before he could contemplate if there was also temporal magic involved, not only special, he appeared in front of a castle-wall, which was lightly crumbled here and there and its once-bright-red brick walls were faded. Unknown old – no, could be ancient – castle. The surroundings are pretty well taken care of though. I wonder where we are…

And it was a we, because apart from the two adults standing in front of the castle and waiting, there were various other people besides him, who were teleported here just like he was. They all look to be close in age to me…But we’re still obviously gathered from different locations. Interesting that we appeared at mostly the same time…How did those guys perform a magical transportation like that? Ian could feel a low buzz of excitement and as if to reflect that, Raven tightened the hold he had on Ian’s shoulder and uttered an almost-silent “Caaaw.” Thankfully, the transportation didn’t seem to have affected him poorly, and a cursory glance confirmed to Ian that his other belongings arrived safely as well. A more thorough observation of the others revealed that some of them seemed to have come more hastily, though whether this was because they hadn’t the time, will or luxury to prepare or because of some other circumstances, Ian couldn’t say.

Then the pair of adults stopped in front of them after the short but luxury stroll they had made towards the arrivals. The blonde male performed some spectacular magic and Ian couldn’t help but be impressed. So…whoa…I want that…Pretty magic…Which of them made the teleportation spell? Or was it someone else? Still…That man is such a show off! But deservingly so. And now he’s leaving. A fitting dramatic exit for the dramatic entrance he made. And he didn’t even introduce himself yet! So enviable… Ian sighed. Then the female who accompanied the man greeted them. Such an ambiguous statement. Glad we all made it?

“Did she expect people not to respond or was there a danger that could have prevented us from ‘making it’?” the pale grey-eyed teen whispered softly to himself, without expectation of being either heard or answered. He was simply curious, and – not that he would admit it – just a bit unsettled. Besides, he considered, stretching an arm to pet Raven on the head, no one can blame me for making the habit to talk quietly to my pet, can they? The black raven fondly tugged on a strand of Ian’s hair, and Ian dropped his hand back to his side. Now what? he wondered if someone was supposed to make a move or if the woman was just waiting for them all to get their bearings. Perhaps somewhat impolitely, he continued staring at their dark-haired host, and waited. There were others who seemed more than eager to get information he was interested in too, so Ian saw no reason to make a move until necessary. Besides, getting all of his things however far it was to the inside would surely take energy, so a bit of a rest beforehand couldn’t hurt.

Luther Miller

It took Luther a few seconds to adjust himself when he arrived, but as he cleared his head he glanced around to see that he was now with a group of strangers, some around his age, maybe a bit younger or older. He began to feel his instincts kick in and stepped a away from the group a bit while pulling his hoodie over his head to keep a low profile. It always made him look shady as hell, his unfriendly look didn't help as well, but it was just something he does when around crowds. Luther buried his hands into his pocket and watched as the man that had greeted them walked away after putting on a little show. Luther rolled his eyes at the performance. 'Show off,' he thought to himself.

Luther gave one last look to the man before turning his attention on his surroundings. It looked like they were outside of some ruined castle. Over the rotting red stone wall he saw that a few of the buildings behind it were somewhat abandoned looking, some were even covered in foliage. He only grew confused, was this really the place? Or had he been tricked into something stupid? He sighed and gave a shrug. It was to late now, he might as well stick around to see who these people are. Of course he would just hang back from the main group, didn't want to get into anything just as he gets here.

Alexander

As the light slowly dimmed down, Alex, half expected to come face-to-face with that slimy black horror from the year before. Yet instead, he seemed to be in front of some sort of castle. A castle academy? Seemed odd, but stranger things have happened. Like that teleportation spell. Or that Eldritch Horror. Glancing to his sides, it looked as though others were arriving as well. Not very surprising considering it was a school and all.

The next thing that grabbed his attention was an old man who started approaching. He was likely Tohru. He looked like a wizard, at the very least. He pulled sword out of... somewhere. And raised it skyward. A bright beam of light flew out of the sword. "Jeez, Talk about dramatic intros..." He mumbled. So this was his welcome huh? Better than a test or something, though he'd better not speak to soon.

As the old man walked away, he turned his attention to the woman who was standing near him. "So, uh... what now?" Presumably, they'd have a day or two to get situated, and likely show off what they know. Then classes would probably start. He just got out of college, so he was used to the whole "class" thing, but would Tohru be everyone's teacher? Or perhaps there were teachers for specific magic types. Guess there was only one to find out.

The man’s wink and smile combination turn Cerrad’s teeth into grindstones. While an authentic magical letter would have made most people happy, any traces of joy on his mind immediately rotted like a sweet fruit as soon as the man concluded his one word speech. The man paid no attention to Cerrad as he hatefully stared at him. No explanation as to where I am or why any of that magic just happened or why there’re others around me! Unbelievable!

Cerrad glared around him and confirmed that he was nowhere near Tembrot. None of the men around him were built like brick walls and instead matched Cerrad’s thin frame. It was a momentary relief, before doubt and envy set in. He was clad in a traditional robe while most of his rivals sported contemporary clothing, which made Cerrad resume grinding his teeth in irritation. Tch, they probably see me as an old man just because I’m dressed in robes but it makes sense in the context of performing traditional magic so if anyone has a problem with that I’ll just say that it’s…..

….and that other male also has long hair and even though his is black it’s still something I have to be wary of and that other one has pink hair and bunny ears, which is frankly ridiculous but manages to be a unique charm point which in turn gives him the advantage when it comes to situations where…

The others began to grow restless for answers as well, prompting Cerrad to snap out of his mental rant. His insecurities that stemmed from the unknown molded the earth magician into a defensive stance. He quietly took his luggage and stiffly walked closer to the gateway. Few others seemed to have packed any, increasing his unease.
