Alright, here's my pick (draft):

Emily Galbrett, Age 34

Born into the same household of a police officer as her younger sister, Lucy, Emily had a good upbringing. She wasn't rich, but her parents were at least just and fair. When she turned thirteen, she became a magical girl - at the time she'd been obsessed with flowers/nature and seemed to be on her path to becoming a gardener of sorts, and this was reflected in her abilities - she was capable of promoting unnatural growth in plants (using them to bind enemies to the ground so her teammates could beat them up), and any flower she holds (even if it's a hair ornament type of thing) becomes real and can fire off sharp petals at any opponent. A mid-range fighter, she tended to tie the area between the supports and the brawlers together and keep the team as a cohesive whole. It wasn't long before Emily introduced Lucy to their group, and soon afterwards she gained powers.

After they defeated their opponent, Emily's life seemed to be going well, the girl having an incredible interest in biology and similar subjects. Three years later though (17), Emily banged one of the other magical girl's brothers in a school staircase - not only did it anger her friend, but it also resulted in her having a child (Mary) and being kicked out of the house soon afterwards. Her life decisions - especially regarding men - haven't improved since them, but now that her daughter is 16 and just starting in the world on her own and Emily just wants the best for her. She's moved up to managing a fast food joint, and although the pay isn't excellent it IS a salary. She reminisces back to her childhood and her companions, but would do ANYTHING to protect her daughter, who only is somewhat aware something odd is going on with her mother. It's for her own good.

Though no matter how much she reminences, she cringes at the old costume she used to wear.

EDIT: Alright, be sure to think about how each of the characters relate to eachother, and keep thinking of the team name.

OOC should be going up later this week.

Version 2, @RabidAnubis liked the idea of being siblings. Also Interview with the Vampire reference.

The Case of Lucy Galbrett, age 32

Lucy Galbrett was always a girl with a keen sense of justice, born to a household where daddy was a police officer. A sort of a runt of the group she was inducted in via her sister, she had issues with her confidence and an habit to follow the lead of more proactive types (like her eldest). She was more a support character than a frontline fighter due to healing abilities and regeneration. After everything was said and done, Lucy resumed her life and tried to chase her father's exploits in lawkeeping, being disappointed by the way her own sister Emily tossed her life away. However, it was clear that thanks to her healing power, she even healed the effects of a developing body, locking her body as 12 forever. Having been a healer in a team of magical girls, she decided to become a forensic pathologist, rather than a policeman, and sought to study medicine (in hopes that mayhaps she would found a solution while enforcing the law). There isn't a day where she regrets her decision. Forensic staff aren't popular. They're shown the cruel side that the world is often blissfully unaware, and they have to perform their duties admirably. So, she is effectively barred from any kind of family raising, much to her bitterness. Almost all her ties to her fellow magical girls have burned and crashed, after telling them in no uncertain terms to zip it, children raising woes cannot even begin to compare to seeing a serial killer running rampant during a particularly hard investigation. She hits the bottle more than she should and her patience with fools has wore really thin outside her job. She is also endlessly frustrated of being vertically challenged and having to show her ID to buy drinks all the time.

Recently, she has moved in with her sister, tired of having to deal with adult-sized shelves on a single flat, and refusing to go to her parent's house (in which she is still treated as a kid).

OK, so just trying to organize powers and stuff in order to see if a cohesive theme can be squeezed out of this.

@RabidAnubis - Plants
@AtomicNut - Healing (Water)
@Hero - Fire
@shagranoz - Lightning
@Pyromania99 - Music (Air)
@Rune_Alchemist - Earth
@Stern Algorithm - Robots (Metal)

Okay, so it looks like we can go for an elemental theme here, more or less, as long as AtomicNut is okay with healing being an aspect of water, and as long as Pyromania99 is okay with music being an aspect of air. Although this doesn't really help me come up with a name since most magical girl teams of four or more tend to veer into elemental specialization.

Eileen's embarrassing costume, incoming:

I was thinking something like Justice Heart, but that's just my opinion.

Alright, my shot at a character

Vivian Everett, 34

Unlike the rest of the team, Vivian's entry into the affairs of magical girls was a bit different. An only child, Vivian had found herself buckling under the pressure and the expectations that they had on her. She let herself get pulled into the wrong crowd and became something of a rebel, dying her hair, cutting school, that sort of thing. It was in one of those encounters that her destiny shifted, as she became the target of a villainous plot as part of the effort to destroy the light once and for all. She was captured and experimented on, her mind twisted and given just the right push for her to sign up and join the fight - on the side of the bad guys.

So they fought. She nearly triumphed too, until a sequence of events led to her being redeemed by the Power of Friendship, and she joined the team to end things once and for all. With the power of ice, she used a mixed style to dish it out, take it, and

Years later, it turns out that old habits die hard. Her efforts to go straight and make it that way fell through before she was even done with college, leaving her to drop out and return to her rebellious ways. Which became less rebellious as time went on and she grew older, but she was no closer to being anything less than a bad girl than she had been before her time as a magical girl. She listens to her vices, drinks, smokes, has her fun, and has accepted the inevitability of fate or whatever. Maybe being with the bad guys wasn't so bad after all, since at least she got some respect.

@Flamelord Accepted! @Stern AlgorithmIt is somewhat elementally, but I thinkg Pyro was going for sound/bard type than air.

@shagranoz I actually like something like Justice Heart - embarrassing, but something a group of idealistic magical girls could come up with.

Yea. She's a DnD bard for the most part. Especially in the future. If you can't sleep with the enemy, sing at them and your allies. Something'll work eventually.

Also I would like to voice my concern that Lucy's element should be "Cigs n' Booze."
