A strange fellow that loves to enjoy life for everything it could give, Talkative and at first seems like a friendly person. A man that has a strange obsession with the occult, black magic and everything to do with the pagan and or rituals of old, A person with a bit of a compulsive personality that could be comparable to the signs of OCD and some signs of ADHD. A man that is hard to please and even harder to deal with, Finally he is a curious fellow that will bombard a person with question or do other things to get what he wants.

1727, September 17th.

I have found a queer book with many strange incantations and words that seem ancient. I have tried speaking Idaho Amber the local librarian about the markings and what the words could mean, However he could not what the words meant so I searched further for a man who can help me, However if I cannot find a person then I will have to research further on my own.

1727, September 23rd

Nothing on the meaning of the strange words, Looking further into whom could write such queer letters on the page. I had spoken with a few of the scholars in Providence but even they do not know the meaning of the book, However I am determined to figure out the secret of the book now. Of note I have started to have strange dreams. I am in Mr. MacDonald’s pumpkin field with a gruesome looking scarecrow looking down at me.

1727, October 5th

I have made progress with the book, I have spoken with a strange quiet man named Keith, A negro form Kentucky that tells me that he practices the black arts. As much as I am a critic of such nonsense, Never the less I am developed some sort of obsession with the book and I must know the contents. Keith and myself have traveled to New Orleans to speak with another gentlemen named James Cotton, A aristocrat that seems to think the boogeyman is real, Hogwash I thought this Cotton fellow seems like a coward. Always holding a lit candle of sage and throwing salt behind his left shoulder. My nightmare have gotten worse, Now the scarecrow is closer with a face that even haunts me when I am awake. Keith says he could help me ward away these nightmares but I do not thought it will help.

1727, October 14th

Cotton and myself have made preparations for a ritual inside of the book, This Cotton fellow and Keith are dragging me along to graveyards. Of course as a respectable Christian I decline, However my curiosity has gotten the best of me. And if I am going into the dark path then I will go headlong without a soul of light to lead me away, We had gotten what we needed for the ritual and in a few days I will complete this strange and ancient practice. My dreams have gotten more frightening, I am frozen with fear when I see the scarecrow's twisted face. Keith’s efforts are for not and my dreams have gotten worse that I cannot sleep.

1727, October 31th

The ritual has been completed and my nightmares have seemed to dissipated, I along with Keith have translated the book form it’s written language to English. I have hidden the book under the earth near the hallow oak tree near Henry Fitzpatrick's pumpkin field, I will make further diary entries of what I will do next on the matter of Keith and Mr. Cotton. I have been having pleasant dreams and I am planning on visiting my family in Maine. I wonder if father will help my sister Anna Maria with cooking the venison, I miss my family dearly and I hope to see them soon. But something strange and dangerous still larks in the back of my mind, However I should not worry I must do further study of the ritual and other findings.

1737, December 16th

I have killed Cotton and Keith, I had shoot them dead with my pistol. I cannot remember the reasoning for this. But I fear the worst as my mind is feeling distant and clouded, Dear god had we summoned something foul those many years ago. I must speak with Father Clarence about what I must do.
