Tiffany Lyle

Location: Methodist Church Parking Lot
Skills: N/A

Hope sprung eternal as Tiffany scanned each car. There were some that, even with gas and a key, she wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole. Some looked ok, but no key to be found. There wasn't a lot of options, but the fact there were a few cars here led her to believe that people sought the church as a safe haven. If only for a bit.

She debated in her head about her own beliefs. She wasn't super religious growing up. It was hard to think there was a god that would allow something like this to happen to the world. Then again, many people who believed said the end times were coming.

She was momentarily distracted as Jack called over to her. He didn't have much luck either, which was a shame. She hoped, even for a bit, that they would be lucky. She was about to call over when her eyes caught something. A tiny speck she wouldn't have noticed as she passed by another car. A small hatchback car, with a super expired license place, but it was the small dent in the plate that caught her attention. And in that small gap was a key.

"Jack! I found a key!" She could jump for joy, but the nearby Walkers were already somewhat alerted to them. No need to make it worse. She took the key and waited for Jack to come back so they could test the car. Hopefully, it worked.

Riley Ridgeway

Location: Sprayberry Rd.
Skills: None

Riley looked over towards Ashton, and gave him a slight nod, she was just feeling extremely tired right now, both mentally and physically she just wanted things to go back the way they were before everything happened. Riley would look back towards the back seat seeing Chloe's pack her plaid shirt sticking out just ever so slightly. "No problem Ashton." Riley said quietly as her attention went towards the road before them, map still in hand in case there is a roadblock of some kind. Riley would let out another slight sigh as she simply just laid her head on the side of the window.

Her eyes wondered over towards the group of houses, they reminded her of the one she grew up in back in Grim, though she really did hate her family she still wondered if some were alive or dead. Riley then turned her attention towards Ashton, she wondered how long they would stay at the bugout location until they moved out again. "So how long are we gonna be at the location for?" Riley asked, she was really hoping that they stayed for a little bit to just rest or try and look for other survivors, her mind quickly went back to thinking about Amelia she was still missing as far as she knew Riley was worried she would lose another person that she loved.

Her fight with the walker had taken out a lot out of Sam, she wondered how much longer they had to go until they could find a suitable shelter. She really wanted to lay down somewhere semi-comfy, you could get used to a lot during world-ending zombie apocalypses, but it didn't mean she didn't dream about a used couch or a questionably clean matress - anything soft would be amazing right now. Sam wasn't one to take baths back when it wasn't a luxury, but she'd trade her whole protein bar stash for just a few minutes with some hot water.

"If you think heading there instead would help us then I'm with you." Sam thought she would need to change her bandage before they lay down for the night and it would prevent unwanted infections if they were inside somewhere - preferably a building that wouldn't crumble down on top of them.

Amelia Payne

Location: MLK Jr. Dr.
Skills: Sneaking, Athletics

Amelia's thinking process was getting pretty slow right now as it took her a few moments to realize what Ray was saying and what his proposition was. Yes they could do that. Probably doing that was the better choice. She shook her head slightly, but nearly loss balance at the attempt, luckily she still didn't quite fall.” Yeah... that's the better decision.” She agreed and started moving east along MLK instead. Why she was still moving was a think eluding her right now, but she was glad she could still move. Maybe it was the fact the muscle aches just still haven't started. After she was going to rest it was probably going to be a killer.

Making just regular movement noise as she went, she was struggling to keep up speed as they walked on the edge of MLK. She didn't speak as her breathing was ragged and it was taking a lot to just be able to keep her breath right now. Somehow or other the connection with Price was already behind. She could see 2 zombies in the distance in front. One by the second house on the other side of the street and one by the third. She really hoped they would leave them alone, but as she was just about to reach the second house the walker noticed her and started to shuffle towards her. Her hands felt numb and she wasn't sure she'd manage to muster any strength, but she pulled a swing with both her hands. The impact she felt, but it was numb, lacking in pure power as it did send the zombie falling to the ground, but it didn't quite do it in as it still was moving, but she frankly barely kept her footing. She was barely standing right now, using the bat as support as the walker was trying to move. This had to do for now... she didn't have any remaining energy to swing again. Somehow she just took a few steps away, hoping either Sam or Ray finish it. She had to rest. Her vision was starting to blurry out. She didn't have much longer walk left in her. They had to find a place to rest soon! "Let's rest soon... please." She said quietly.

Please remember to update your locations in your header with roads and such. (I will update general maps when you all are done and off your current one. Let me know when you are at the edge! If you do not tag me in chat I will not bother giving you a new updated map >.>)

Eden

Location: Eden: 22, Tank on Right Fork Of Road Between 21 and Main Eden Building, Behind the Tank
Skills: Survival, Tank Operations, Land Navigation, Hunting, Rifle, Sniper Rifle

"Okay, kill fuckers, grab a bite to eat, find clubs, play wack a mole with deadies, then get our nails done. Sounds like an aces good girl day," Lola laughed as he slowly drove the tank forward. It might have sounded off to some a few years ago but in this day and age it actually didn't sound near as insane as it might have before the outbreak. The sad fact of the matter was that with Lola it wouldn't have sounded insane at all even five years ago. Okay, maybe the nails would have but shit in this day and age a girl needed to do the little things. Makes that whole survival thing worth while.

Now while some might think playing mini gold with walkers was a good time with the girls, Thana did not. She preferred to stay focused on the matter at hand and even if they were done taking care of Eden she would have wanted to book it out of there and see if she could find Ash and whomever might have survived whatever the hell had happened in Newnan. As far as things were going now she had no idea if anyone had survived. She didn't know what would have been more tragic, the newly wed couple surviving or dying in all of that. Would have been a high note to go out on but then again wasn't life a high note in and of itself?

Gavin was right down the middle on the subject. He wouldn't have mind taking the back nine and having a cold brew in his hand while he played batter up clean up with the eaters. That is if Thana was fine and good when all of this was over. Then again if she wasn't and she ended up being one of the ones to bite the dust in the middle of all of this, his shit storm might just be beginning instead of climbing out of the darkness that was his mind right then, and it was a very bleak place indeed.

Coming up to a fork in the road again Lola peered out and turned the tank. She could see a rather large building not too terribly far from them. It had been the largest one she had seen since they got on the grounds and from the looks of it, it had to be the lace they were aiming for. Especially since there were some still standing around it and looking like they were going to actually try to guard it. It was the back side of a building but hey what better place to put a very large caliber shot? It would be a bullet of health in her book. "Oh get ready Yank, should be able to take a shot soon," she cackled.

Nodding towards Thalia, Thana couched down low and checked her weapon real fast. "Alright, I'll cover you," she said but before she started to take a step she glanced over at Alexander and quirked a brow. The man hadn't said anything in a bit that she was aware of. "If you aren't ready for this, hold tight here and be a middle point," she said in suggestion before taking off behind Thalia and keeping a few yards back just in case. She wanted to watch her back not be so close to it that she couldn't see something coming right up on it.

Gavin took down two more with his rifle and lowered his weapon. Wiping his brow with the back of his arm and pushing his curls out of his face, making sure to adjust his hat so they were actually held back now. He probably should have done that sooner but better late than never in his mind. That was unless it was to his or Thanas funeral. Better never in his mind on that matter. Running his tongue along his lips he pulled his rifle back up and looked through the scope. Seemed they were getting closer to the building. That was good. It wasn't as if he minded using the rifle with part of them wanted to get right up on these people and make this a person look them in the eyes moment.

Alexander Polawski

Location: 22 - Following Thana
Skills: None

The shade of the trees and the cover they provided was something the Vet did not want to leave just yet, and so he was in no hurry to take Thalia's place as she volunteered to take point. It wasn't in his nature to go first either way; he was the radio man meant to report what was going on and how it was going up the chain of command, and he wasn't the runner he used to be. But he was by no means going to just stay back and let the ladies take all the responsibility themselves.

Alexander looked back at Thana as she glanced at him and told him that he could stay as a middle ground. He sent a small smirk back to her. "Negative, Ma'am, I'm ready. I'll be right behind you to with cover." Alexander responded shortly before slinging the axe over his shoulder and pulling out the 1911 Colt. He had already checked the Beretta earlier, but the more familiar sidearm from the past he had not. Pulling the magazine out and cocking it, he decided it looked clear enough before following Thana a little distance behind. As he moved behind her, he looked back on his 6 in case they were followed, before whispering to the Navy Lady, hoping only she could hear. "Want a quick radio check with the others?"

Raymond Mendoza

Location: Heading South Towards Fairmount Dr.
Skills: People Reading & Stealth (ninja)

Raymond looked towards Amelia and Sam, and nodded, he was getting pretty exhausted as well and he just really wanted to sit down and rest his sore leg. "We will rest in a yard if we have to, if we don't find a place that looks like its stable." Raymond said, it was the last idea he had in mind. However he just wanted to make sure that they all had a place to rest, Ray sighed slightly as he watched Amelia going over to take down one of the walkers that were in the road. Seeing Amelia hitting him across the head, and watching it fall to the ground, Ray moved over and used the end of his walking stick to thrust into the skull of the walker.

Raymond slowly moved over and gently laid an arm on Amelia's shoulder even though he probably couldn't handle her weight he really wanted to help her. "Your doing great Amelia." Ray said trying to reassure his friend, as his eyes wondered over to Sam, he could tell that their new companion was getting tired as well. "We can change those bandages when we find a safe place to rest." Raymond suggested, he didn't want her wounds to get infected either. His mind started to wonder back towards Tiffany, just the night before they were sharing a bed together and several hours later they are completely separated from each other.

"I don't know if I'd be comfortable sleeping out here, but I'm sure we'll find something." Sam could build a pretty good shelter but this area was still picked clean and the chance they find a tarp or anything good to protect them or at least conceal them for the night would take a while to find. She'd rather take a chance in going into one of the nearby buildings before the sun goes down.

Sam glanced down at her wound again, her axe was resting on top of her shoulder, as holding it with both hands caused stress on her bruised ribs. "Yeah, we'll find something and we'll all get cleaned up," Sam said with a small smile - though she was exhausted she remained positive. There must be some house here that can stand another night. She thought as her eye scanned the area, but she would follow her companions, they knew this area better than she did.

Beatrice Decker

Location: Eden - Tank on Right Fork Of Road Between 21 and Main Eden Building
Skills: Tank Gunner Amateur

Beatrice smirked slightly. She'd enjoy most of the activities on the list - she was neutral on the entire nails thing. While she could appreciate having healthy nails that were in good condition, she found the fake nails and such that a lot of women went for to be irritating. They just made it harder for her to work. She used her hands for so much that if she had fake nails that prevented her from operating with ease, it'd just make it that much harder to survive. "I'm from California, not sure I qualify as a Yank," Beatrice mused.

She looked through the scope and spotted the same building that Lola had. If she was the leader of a cult type settlement, it seemed to be an ideal location. It had plenty of room for expansion and accommodations. They'd only need to worry about guarding the one building for all of their important assets, rather than spreading them out. It was perhaps one of the fatal flaws of Newnan - or conversely, a strength. After all, they could take this building out with a tank. With Newnan, you'd need to drive around and take a few critical shots. Beatrice began adjusting the controls, getting the gun into position and aiming towards the building.

"They'll probably try shooting at the tank as well," she then said, looking through the scope with interest. It would be a futile action, but she had no doubt they'd do it and waste their resources.

Jack Hudson

Location: Parking Lot Behind the Mt. Zion Methodist Church
Skills: Survival

Jack wasn't overly religious himself, and although he was Jewish, he found it hard to believe that a savior would eventually walk the Earth. Maybe towards the start of all of this he believed that it could happen - but with each passing year, it seemed a little less likely. He wanted nothing more than to image a future for himself and Tatiana - as well as their kid - that didn't involve running from the walking dead. He wanted that white picket fence life, just a little bit of normalcy. They had almost had that in Newnan, but then Mother Nature decided it wasn't meant to be.

"You found a key for a cah?" Jack asked, feeling hopeful. He carefully made his way back over to Tiffany, keeping an eye on the walkers that seemed to have noticed them. He wasn't too concerned at the moment. They seemed to be too far away to be a problem at the moment - especially if they had a working vehicle. He made his way over to her, checking out the condition of the car. He didn't know too much but as cars went, it didn't seem to be in half bad shape. "Let's see if she wohks, then," Jack said with a huge grin on his face. It was always comforting to realize that they weren't in complete mortal danger - if the car worked, they could drive and maybe make it to the bug out point, where hopefully both Tatiana and Ray would be waiting for them.

Tiffany Lyle

Location: Methodist Church Parking Lot

Tiffany couldn't quite believe it herself, but she found a key. She unlocked the car door and sat down in the front seat. She put her faith in this tiny object. If the car worked, they had reasonable transportation to get to the bug out place where the others might be. They could also arguably sleep in the car and be somewhat protected from Walker attacks.

She inserted the key and waited a second. She gave it a turn and the car started revving up. She thought it would stall or not even bother, but she heard it turning and after a brief few seconds, it turned on. It fricken turned on! She almost gasped in shock. She looked over to Jack. "Holy shit, we have a working car!" Luck seemed to be favoring them for the moment, so they better not waste it. "Wanna drive or do you want me to? We should make some headway now and be free from the Walkers."

Amelia Payne

Location: East end of MLK Jr. Dr.
Skills: Sneaking, Athletics

"Thank you, Ray." Amelia mumbled as he placed a hand on her shoulder in a reassuring manner. That said it probably wouldn't be long before hse cannot continue anymore so for now walking without stopping was the best idea. If she stopped, she wasn't sure she'd be able to start moving again. She also gave a tired smile to Sam who was appearing hopeful for finding shelter within reasonable amount of time which wasn't much given the situation with all three of them requiring a lot of rest.

Walking though she noticed a walker... there was one last walker and as she walked her heavy steps attracted it's attention, making it start shuffling it's rotting body towards them. Amelia started walking away from it, leaving it to maybe Sam or Ray. Frankly she no longer had the strength to put her arms to zombie killing use. She couldn't even bring herself to lift the baseball bat up let along swing it with reasonable momentum anymore." Sam, please..." She said to sam who despite everything was in the best of conditions for a swing mostly because making a swing for a one legged person would be hard and Amelia couldn't feel her arms anymore.

On that note they had moved somewhat even further awya from Newnan. Granted it wasn't much more than couple of blocks away, but the desperate hope existed in her heart that there would be reasonable shelter somewhere here.

Ash Holloway

Location: Hordebuster, Sprayberry Road (G15) -> Intersection of Sprayberry and Jackson St. (E8)
Skills: Engineering, Mechanic

The Hordebuster had made its way up and around the bend without much in the way of incident. The qualifier "much" was really code, indicating that were they outside of a large moving vehicle, things would be worse. Oh sure, there were indeed the Dead along the road and in the middle of it, but the most interaction the survivors in the truck had with them was the occasional bump as the great wedge on the front of the Hordebuster shuffled another one off and flung it to the side. Luckily, there weren't a whole lot of them that were squishy enough to warrant an involuntary gag of Ash's behalf. In this day and age, it really did take a lot to get most people to gag, but the almost cartoony way that The Hordebuster could make walking corpses explode? That could still get some of the more hardened survivors a-horkin'. When it wasn't gut-busting hilarious, anyway.

As the Hordebuster swept the street clear of Dead guys, Ash found his mind wandering back to his youth, revving up his father's riding lawnmower and tearing across what open grass was available in semi-rural Virginia. The machine ran smooth; many of the people in his family were mechanically inclined. But various knocks and thudding coming from the bottom of the mower were rocks, tree limbs, and the occasional unwary gopher (as you couldn't wear them back then, apparently), whereas the things rebounding from the 'Buster used to be people. Had Kid Ash he known what adventures were waiting for him adult, he very likely would have traded places with the gopher. Coin toss at best. But he was alive now, and so were at least two others for which he felt responsible.

Now the Hordebuster sat at the corner of Sprayberry and Jackson, between the abandoned gas station and the Barbecue joint. Yeah, he couldn't think of James right then, no matter how much he wanted to. Shit had to be held together, and whatnot. Still, he had lost his best friend. It felt like a selfish thought; everyone who was still alive just lost family, or people close enough that they might as well be. Newnan. The Newnan People. It didn't matter what came after this, they would always be Newnan to him. It was the same sort of sentiment that got Jack and Tatiana to change their surnames to match the city. Ash really hoped that those two made it. They represented Hope.

It suddenly occurred to Ash that Riley had asked him a question. He shook the cobwebs out of his head, and addressed the younger lady. "Huh? Sorry. Ah, not sure. This is a "play by ear" situation, Riley. We're moving faster than a lot of the others are, and not all of them are going to Arnco Mills. We have a general fallback point. Unless the situation is hostile, it's there we're spending most of our time waiting. A day to regroup, probably. Then we have to look to getting our emergency supplies." Ash had his own agenda, outside of his responsibility to his people. But even though Newnan was a crater, he was still their Captain. Someone had to be, or they wouldn't be "a people" anymore. And they needed to stick together now more than ever. His own agenda would have to wait, but just barely.

The road ahead of them was more heavily populated by The Dead, a thing that would make life hazardous for anyone coming through on foot. Even in the 'Buster, Ash didn't like it. If anyone were equipped to clear a path, though, it would be a post-apocalyptic Army Engineering Officer sitting at the helm of a piece of homemade siege equipment. Ash shifted back into gear and set himself to pushing forward.

Thalia Carmichael

Location: Eden, Headed toward Tennis Courts -> Corner of Tennis Courts
Skills: Stealth, Survival, Sharp Weapons

Thalia wasn't 100% happy with their situation. Running point on the sneak attack was a logical decision to make, seeing as she was the only one specifically trained in both stealth and survival techniques. But most of her decisions wee based on a one-person operation. She wasn't a Field Commander. Not even when she worked for her uncle's company. She had authority, true, but there was a difference between having a rank for the purposes of doing a job, and being a strategic leader. At the very least, she could scout out the best path and try to clear a couple human obstacles. Or formerly human obstacles. Even back Before, it was her bread-and-butter.

Of course, that was the problem. Facing in the direction she was, toward the tennis courts, Thalia could point out two people moving toward the noise of the TANK on her left flank. The cover there was slight at best; any movement that made their peripheral vision focus on a human silhouette would give them all away immediately. That was an inconvenience, though. Hang out quietly and they would pass. The problem was that there was a third Edenite in the thicker cover ahead of her. If this guy had noticed them yet, he would have indicated something, used a radio, or just opened fire. But he had not. Again, her kingdom for a silencer. But this guy was right on her 12, and an approach was difficult until the other two yahoos had passed by or were killed. Quietly.

While she was not thoroughly satisfied with her current predicament, she was pretty damned sure that her bestie back in the big, steel beast was having a blast. It just seemed like her. In the back of her mind, Thalia thought, "Yeah, two dollahs says that Kiwi's already prioritizing killing fuckahs, eating a sandwich, playing a few holes of golf and then... new hairstyle? Something like that..." She'd just have to remember to ask. Well, if she could get past this one guy ahead. Thalia had failed to fully sneak up on the first Edenite in her path, a thing which, in all honesty, she probably got lucky that she didn't blow the whole thing in that second. Hopefully, she wouldn't have to be lucky again.

Ok, the two bastards out in the open had taken three good steps toward the general area of the tank, taking Thalia out of their peripherals. The second she could, she darted across the paved path and into the copse of trees near to the tennis court. She kept low. Upon doing so, she noticed two things: 1) The front side of the building was near the bottom of a sloping hill. It would make an assault easier, but stealth on a direct approach very difficult. 2) The man in the bushes still hadn't seen her. Yet. Maybe he was taking a piss. A really long one. With his back turned.

Thalia approached from the north, sidling up just inside of the treeline. Irony working for her in this instance, the huge open space behind her was clear and allowed for an unseen approach, so long as no one else appeared in the clearing. Not ideal, but the bushes around and the old mulch on the ground around trees that were once ornamental sufficed nicely to muffle the approaching steps of her hiking boots. Her first good look at the man finally let her know why she was so successful thusfar: The man was crouching, holding a working radio to his head, a finger plugging up his other ear while he was looking at the ground, trying to concentrate on what was being reported. Was he scared and hiding? Or just totally unaware that this whole TANK thing was possibly a distraction? This was too much. Dropping any pretense of direct stealth, Thalia stepped right up to the poor guy, humming to herself, "Mmm hmm-hmm-hmm-hmm, Mmm hmm-hmm-hmm-hmm... The joy of Chola..."

The man's eyes widened and he whipped his head around just in time to see a blade descend. He was able to blink three times before the light left his eyes entirely, the last imprint upon him being the expressionless face of a dark haired young lady, painted like a skull with ash and char.

Thalia returned to the edge of the treeline and waved Thana over. The area looked clear, they had cover, and a couple points of egress under cover of the terrain, if necessary.

"Trust me, it's the very last option i'd like." Ray said with a slight sigh, maybe they could at least find a fenced off yard if they were lucky if didn't find a house that looked like it could just crumble in pieces. Ray looked over towards Amelia and gave her a friendly nod, as he gently patted her on the shoulder. She really did need a little bit of a pep talk or something to try and cheer her up. "You are doing awesome Amelia." Ray said reassuringly, as he continued to walk alongside her as best he could, his leg felt like it was on fire from all of the movement.

Ray's attention turned towards a nearby walker, he thought about reaching for his handgun that he had strapped to the back of his pants but he decided against it. A single shot would draw in quiet a few walkers, and that was the last thing he ever wanted to do, also he thought about reaching for his knife. Ray was doing everything he could do to keep himself balanced, but he always fought to keep his balance on a daily basis. And going toe to toe with a walker who was a full sized man in life, he'd instantly fall on his ass, looking over at Sam. He felt bad that the two of them were both relying on Sam to take out any walkers that were there.

Riley Ridgeway

Riley leaned back in her seat still map in her hand as she would occasionally keep track of their location as best as she could, she could hear the occasional thud and seeing the bit of splatter of walker on the windshield whenever the Hordebuster drove through a walker. At least they all weren't on foot, and she was grateful when Ashton actually drove through. Riley looked towards Ashton when he finally answered her question.

She gave a slight nod, she was really hoping that Amelia would be heading to Arnco Mills, which was where they were heading now, Riley's attention would turn back towards the window. She quickly went back to her thoughts of her sister, still the image of her shooting herself was burned into her brain. Riley then decided to change the subject, just to keep her mind from thinking of anything else that wasn't dark. "So why did you choose the military?" Riley finally asked, deciding to try and get to know her boss a bit more.

Eden

Location: Eden: 22, Tank on Right Fork Of Road Between 21 and Main Eden Building, Behind the Tank
Skills: Survival, Tank Operations, Land Navigation, Hunting, Rifle, Sniper Rifle

Such a place was Eden. Names for the garden itself, spoken about in the bible. A place of peace, a place of perfect weather and perfect life. Just do what you were told to do, don't touch what you were told not to touch, don't question, fall in line, and all will be well. That was Eden. To this day that was Eden, in a way. Those that lived there now struggled daily, with their own demons but they were there and they were surviving. At least they were surviving but living was the point these days was it not? Or maybe it wasn't. People were just surviving instead of living even before the outbreak. That was just how human kind was. Yet there were far less human wandering around today. At least, not what was normally known as a human for the majority of history.

Odd thoughts to have but each of the people that were in Eden right now, outsiders, were having these thoughts, at least some of them. Though truth be told. Gavins version in his head was a bit longer in though and drawl and much darker. Lolas was brighter and much more colorful in her words. Thana was the middle ground both in action and in thought. Gavin was picking off Edenites one by one with his rifle, sticking behind the tank as he went. Lola was bouncing in her seat and laughing at the fools trying to shot at a tank. Thana was keeping a close eye on Thalia as she moved and stayed low.

Whether any of those in Eden had spotted Gavin yet couldn't be figured out right then. He was staying behind the tank for the most part but he wasn't hiding. Granted when someone had a tank coming right at them they tended not to pay attention to anything else. I mean it was a fucking tank, yet maybe they needed to since something was killing their people and it wasn't the tank. Gavin was racking up one hell of a death count so far and the Texan Country Boy was loving every minute of it, maybe a bit too much.

Thana wasn't racking up another death to her count just yet. Thalia had taken point and snuffed out a mans life candle. Thana nodded when she got the single and quickly made her way across. What she knew was that in front of them things seemed pretty clear and in front of the main Eden building there were only a few. What she didn't know or perhaps just didn't notice as of yet were the two that had caught sight of Thalia when she went to the tennis court. They were not able to cross the grounds in time to stop her, in fact they were still a bit ways back but they had Thana in their sights.

Lola had something in her sight as well right then. She was laughing as she drove. "Shit girl, you were born north of the equator. You're a yank," she chortled as she drove. "More bullets on us, less on the rest," she said as she got the tank into position and finally cleared the treeline enough for Beatrice to have a clear shot. "Fire when you're ready!" she called out and slowed the tank to a stop. This would be a good place to hold position and hopefully stopping the tank would let Gavin know his asses needed to take cover before the big badda boom.

The cowboy may have been a bit different and acted like a goof a lot of the time, it didn't mean he was stupid. The tank stopping did make him pause and he looked around it, taking aim and about to pop off another round but then he saw the large main building and a dark grin spread across his features. Seemed things were falling into place as he heard the main cannon moving. Oh someone was taking aim. Stepping behind the tank he ducked down a bit and halfway plugged his ears. When they took out part of the bridge they had been further back and he had still gotten showered with debris. This time he wanted to make sure he had at least some cover. Would suck to get taken out by a flying piece of window or a stray club that got way too much velocity.

Alexander Polawski

Location: 22 - North of Tennis court --> Corner of Tennis court
Skills: Axe-fighting

Alexander wasn't sure on whether Thana was ignoring his request to a radio-check with the other team, either as a "No" or that he was stupid for asking, or if he had simply whispered the request all too quietly for her to actually hear it. He could see all three possibilities as reasonable, because he was already used to being told to shut up and listen way back when he had a field-radio strapped on his sorry back. As he followed a little ways behind Thana, slower and slower for every step, he pulled out his radio and considered doing it anyway. Informing the Kiwi that they were heading...somewhere could help them not get shot at by the TANK. Then again, who knew if they were being listened to?

When Alexander looked up from his radio, Thana was gone. Not totally gone, just a fair distance in front of him across some open ground between the trees. Typical, he was lagging behind. But as he put away his radio again, he looked up to catch sight of bad news; two Edenites, looking as if they were on their way towards his two T's. "...Shit..." Alexander swore under his breath. He had to act fast, but how? He held the Colt 1911 in his hand, ready to drop the charlies faster than a speeding MIG. But that was loud, perhaps loud enough to take attention away from the TANK and onto them, which was bad.

Alexander holstered his gun and swung the axe off his shoulder, gripping it tightly in his dirtied hands as he took a step towards the two charlies. In his head, he tried to be as quiet as a VC-guerrilla or Thalia herself, hoping to get the jump on them before they could spot him. The element of surprise, use it wi...

If either of the T's had been there, the vet was certain they would have collectively shoved their faces into their palms in despair. Not only did he step on a branch, but the biggest and loudest branch in a ten-mile radius, easily catching the attention of the Edenites. He couldn't hear if or what they said or shouted, being too busy hearing Sergeant Jackson tell him he was "...a piece of useless Yankee city trash who was going to get us all killed!" in his head. The element of surprise was gone, but the Edenites remained. So Alexander did the only thing a reasonable and good grunt would do.

He charged.

Holding his axe above is head, the vet rushed out from the trees towards the Edenite furthest west. It could have been either a comedic sight seeing the old man running with an axe over his head like a looney forester, or quite frightening as he was running straight for a kill. Alexander, not having time to think of the bullets that would certainly fly in his general direction, ran as fast as he could and swung the axe as hard as he could down at the one Edenite the last second. The first strike cleaved the axe head into the right shoulder, possibly disconnecting the shoulder bones from the arm and tendons. The Edenite screamed in pain as the vet came in for another strike, driving the axe into the side of his stomach and forcing the man to the ground, before Alexander planted the last blow straight to his head.

Alexander looked from the first Edenite and up to the other, perhaps shocked by the whole scene with Alexander holding an bloody axe in his hands, stuck in the poor man's head. The vet, not done yet, tried to pull the axe out of the first Edenites head to strike at the other one. But the blood made it slippery, and when he initially pulled it, it slipped out of his hands and flew away. Straight forward. Into the Edenite's face. The two stood at a stand-off for a few seconds, before the Edenite slumped forward dead. If he wasn't dead, it sure as hell had to be painful. Alexander slowly comprehended what had just happened, and was unsure of whether he was impressed by it, or frightened. But with no time to dwell on the present, the vet pulled the axe out of the Edenite's face, quickly brushed some of the blood off the axe on their clothes, and beelined back to Thana and Thalia.

Breathing a little heavier again, he approached the treeline where he thought the T-duo were and croached down alongside them. "Want me...to call up...Kiwi now?" Alexander asked in-between his breathing, as the adrenaline from the small skirmish was starting to wear off.

Amelia Payne

Location: East end of MLK Jr. Dr.
Skills: Sneaking, Athletics

This was bad... Amelia took a deep breath as she attempted to put any last strength she can into those lithe looking arms of hers. As result the limbs in question as if howled in pain into her mind as the burning sensation from attempting to move them hit her. This was truly the end of her swinging for the moment. Frankly she barely had the strength to stand up in her legs also. Amelia was barely keeping up. This appeared to be her limit, the weight and the struggle from earlier was just too much.

The walker was shuffling towards them, but it was a few steps away, so Amelia as it's main target right now pulled a few steps away too. Her movement was rather slower than she would have liked and she just bought herself a few extra seconds as she did so. Could she do it? She wondered as her arms screamed in pain. If it came close enough, she was going to pull one final swing. She couldn't escape really, she had to take it down and there wasn't much option here. If Sam pulled together and whacked it first it would all be great though.' Just one more swing... please just hold out just a few more moments, I know I've said it so many times already, but please...' She silently begged her own body to hold out just ever so more. She didn't want to die here. Not like this.

Ash Holloway

Location: Hordebuster, Intersection of Sprayberry and Jackson St. (E8) -> Roscoe Rd. (E7)
Skills: Engineering, Mechanic

Oh, Ash heard the question that Riley had posed him, but he didn't answer right away. It was an interesting set of circumstances shaping up outside of the grated windows that held his attention just then, drawing the capacity of his brain to process and respond away like some manner of conversational highwayman, demanding that the Captain "Stand and Deliver", said delivery coming in the form of conscious thought. But one couldn't blame him, really. It was an odd sight.

A pane of ice held over the vast majority of the wide intersection and continued to the road beyond. Jackson St. was suitable for tobogganing, were one lucky enough to have a passable toboggan (the sled, not the hat), and the ice had the most interesting group of dead people atop it, trying like hell to stand back up in the middle of a continuing series of nasty tumbles onto the slippery and frigid road. Like, a LOT of them. It had all the makings of a beginner's Ice Skating class comprised of palsy-inflicted kindergartners. Except for the rot. And the mindless shuffling toward the pillar of smoke and despair that used to be Newnan. But it was definitely surreal. Ash kind of wished he could get video of it for a post-apocalyptic blooper reel later.

It did slowly dawn in him that he needed to take this next part nice and slow. It made no sense to floor it and pray that he wouldn't inadvertently run off of both sides of the road and take out a (living) family of four. Slowly, deliberately, Ash shifted into a lower gear and allowed the Hordebuster to crawl across the intersection, adjusting his direction in minute ways. And shoving away a small handful of them as the great plow wedge of the front did its job, but at slow speeds.

He finally allowed himself to respond to Riley. "Military..." Maybe she was trying to take his min doff of things for a little while and maybe she was just going for conversation. It really didn't matter. He appreciated the act and acquiesced to her seeming curiosity, though thoughts of long ago brought out a little more of his Virginian accent than he was trying for. "Dad had a good thing going with the Distillery... wait, we've never really talked, have we?" he paused, giving a look to the former music icon. A lot of what he would have said might as well have gone completely over her head, what with them not being particularly close outside of duty logs and guard details. "Okay, short version first: I blew away my ASVAB scores, and figured I could get a solid education though the Army. There wasn't anything else about the family business I didn't already know, and lots of my people went military. Easy enough, I enlisted and got into the Virginia Military Institute. I liked the discipline. I liked serving my country. And I liked helping people. So I went career. The family business would be there when I retired, and I would have owned ...oh, half of it by now." As far as he knew, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family. If the Distillery even still stood, by rights it was all his. But that was only by the law of a nation that, in all honesty, just didn't exist anymore. It made his heart wistful, thinking about the plans from Before. It seemed like so long ago.

Ash carefully maneuvered the Hordebuster into a shallow turn, hoping that the icy road would allow them to pass by unhindered if he took it gently. He was rewarded with a lack of wheel-to-blacktop drama, wherein he safely turned his truck onto the beginning of a new road. "Alright, Miss Ridgeway. We are officially on Roscoe now, headed northwest. One road down. Hopefully, some of these Dead will begin to clear, the more space we put between us and Newnan." And hopefully, the others found a safe way, too.

Thalia Carmichael

Location: Eden, Corner of Tennis Courts -> Trees just North of Tennis Courts
Skills: Stealth, Survival

"JesusFuckingChrist," thought Thalia, wondering what the hell she just witnessed. The old man decided to play berserker with two men armed with guns. How he survived, she'd never be able to guess. Blind, stupid luck. Had to be. She surmised that she had better reaction than the man, more recent training, but living like they all had to for the past few years kept you sharp. What Thalia saw wasn't particularly sharp, though. Quite the opposite, Alexander looked like he just accidentally pulled off the biggest "Hail Mary" since the invention of the concept.

The dumbstruck young woman debated the possibility of remaining where she was and letting Alex twist in the wind for the next few moments all by his lonesome, or doing something useful though it may expose her to whomever was still lurking around out there in the open. A quick scan of the area told her that, with the exception of the two very recently dispatched persons nearby, the place looked clear. Unless someone was hiding within the treeline or underbrush elsewhere within a direct line of sight, Thana and herself were the only ones to witness the spectacle of inexpert axe murder. But the scream from that first one could be a problem.

Neither apparently had the time to use radios, if they had them. That was a good thing. But that yell might call others to their area. There wasn't much in the way of snow on the ground here. Thalia could make a grab for one of the bodies and drag it back under the trees and brush where they were with a minimally observable blood trail, but that would take time that they just might not have. Hope and luck as their allies, Lola's group was keeping them so busy that no one heard the minor skirmish out their way. Hope and luck. Yeah. Thalia was far happier that she brought along an extra gun. She had more faith in that than either hope or luck.

As Alexander joined them and asked his question about contacting the TANK, Thalia really wanted to say something to the man. His execution was sloppy and haphazard, reminding her more of an enraged, blind woodsman than a warrior. But she could not fault the results. The men were dead. More importantly, the three of them weren't. The mission would continue. "Okay Mugsy. Good on ya, but we can't count on JarJar-ing our way through the rest of them." She could tell that he probably needed a moment. They didn't have one of those, though, nor would they for a while. "From where we are now, we can cut around the court and the pool fences, come up behind that brick building." she motioned with a blooded machete, pointing toward what appeared to be a windowless poolhouse at the corner of the fencing opposite them. "As long as this end stays clear of assholes, we might be okay." Her Boston accent had faded to a trace, replaced with dispassionate, solid tones. She didn't live for this kind of work like others in her family did, though she did view it as a heavy responsibility.

The tree cover wasn't great from that point, but at least they had decent vectors of escape if it was needed. "Okay, I'll get this started." Thalia blew out a deep breath and took off for the next group of trees, sparse though it was. There was the option to cut through the tennis court directly; it surely would have saved them a minute or so, but that would mean being inside of a low fence in open terrain, literally a stone's throw from the Eden main building. No, while they were still trying at stealth, Thalia would not suggest it, no matter how clear it seemed.

Tiffany Lyle

Location: Methodist Church Parking Lot
Skills: N/A

Jack was probably stunned into silence as she waited for his answer. "I'll drive, though it has been some time since I did so." It was just like riding a bike, right? Once you get back on it, it would all come back to you. She sat down in the driver's seat and turned the car on again, letting it purr for a bit. The Walkers were inching closer and she didn't want to wait any longer.

She waited for Jack to get inside before she put it in drive and drove off. She kept it slow enough to avoid any damage, but she also wanted to make some headway from the Walkers closing in. She didn't want to hit them, as they would damage the car and they were lucky enough to find one that worked.

"So, any idea what direction we need to go in?"

Beatrice Decker

Location: Eden - Tank on Right Fork Of Road Between 21 and Main Eden Building
Skills: Tank Gunner Amateur

"By that definition, the Russians are yanks," Beatrice pointed out with a bit of a smirk. She couldn't help but be amused by that definition, though she understood where it came from. Lola was a Kiwi - there was little point in her specifying a dividing line within the United States to separate people from Yanks and not-Yanks. It would have been fun, however, to see the reactions of the Southerners in Newnan being called a yank. Or even the ones from Boston - Yankees were always a New York thing in Beatrice's opinion.

She fell quiet as Lola got the tank into position, looking through the scope and adjusting her aim. She had already reloaded a while ago, so she didn't need to attend to that. Using her various skills, Beatrice didn't hesitate to fire off the shot, having taken aim at the building. Sure, she might have wanted to wait a few seconds, that way Gavin could take cover, but she figured the hesitation wouldn't have been worth it. Newnan had been hesitating when it came to taking action for far too long anyways. And look where it had gotten them...

Jack Hudson

Location: Parking Lot Behind the Mt. Zion Methodist Church
Skills: Survival

Jack punched the air, a bit goofy but beyond thrilled that they had a working vehicle. If he wasn't in a committed relationship with his soul mate, he could have kissed Tiffany right then. He nodded as Tiffany offered to drive. "I drive like a cop, might be bettah if you drive," he said jokingly. It was one of the ironies he had found working as a cop - all cops tended to be terrible at following traffic laws. "But if you speed, I'm pullin' ya ovah and writin' you a ticket." He gave her a grin before he climbed into the car.

He was about to tell Tiffany to seriously take it slowly, when she did just that. Between the ice and the walkers, he didn't want to risk damaging this car. "We gotta head north," Jack explained. It took him a moment to orient himself before he pointed northward to Tiffany. It was one of his lesser known talents when it came to survival. Of course, the main reason he knew the compass directions was that he used them to assign security teams at Newnan - and because he knew that they had headed north from Newnan to get to Arnco Mills, so going north still was their only real option.

Raymond Mendoza

Location: Heading South Towards Fairmount Dr.
Skills: People Reading & Stealth (ninja)

Raymond looked over towards Amelia for a moment, she was really getting tired, as he looked over at Sam he wasn't sure what she was going to do yet. Ray reached down and gripped his knife and drew it, looking at Amelia she wasn't in any condition to swing at the moment as he watched the walker getting ever closer towards them. He wasn't going to wait any longer, as Ray awkwardly started to move forward and used his weight on his right leg.

"I got it." Ray said towards them, as he made sure he was balanced as best as he could, deciding against using the knife Ray swung his walking stick at the walker's leg to throw it off balance. Ray stumbled backwards grunting slightly as he tried to regain his footing, he fell down onto his back. Before he could do anything Ray lunched forward and with a thrust Ray slammed his knife into the walker's eye socket. Taking a deep breath as he tried to get up, looking over at either Amelia or Sam, he was going to have a very hard time getting up. "A little bit of help here?" Raymond asked looking at either of them.

Riley Ridgeway

Location: Sprayberry Rd.
Skills: None

Riley looked out the window as she watched some walkers trying to walk on the sheet of ice that had built up on the road before them, she was worried if they would end up wrecking if the ice was really bad. She noticed that Ashton was quiet when he didn't answer, until he actually finally did speak up. Turning her head to look at Ash for a moment and shook her head slightly, aside from Lead meetings and handing out orders for the week Riley didn't really have time to get to talk to him aside from getting ordered around by him. "Aside from the lead meetings and the like not really." Riley answered truthfully.

As she leaned back and listened to his shortened version Riley was slightly surprised she thought he'd at least have a little hell raiser side to him in his younger years. "So no like drunken parties and being a hell raiser or tee peeing or egging people's houses in your teen years?" Riley asked with a slight smile, remembering doing that a whole lot when she was growing up just to spite her overly religious partents, she just needed to keep some kind of conversation going other then having to go to her dark thoughts of losing her home, losing her sister and possibly even her girlfriend as well. She could respect him though following his family's footsteps, unlike her Riley would never do that for anyone in her family.

"Lets just hope that the roads are also clear of ice as well." Riley said softly as she pulled out her map once more and sarted to look over the route that she calculated a few moments ago. "If we need to redirect anywhere let me know." Riley said calmly.
