Hey.

If you tell me to be crazy...

I will pull no punches.

Of course I'm willing to change that if it's overruled.

As much as I love the enthusiasm, unfortunately immortality isn't really what I am looking for. Definitely stay with that energy though, I'm looking forward to see what you come up with.

Sure, no problem.

I see the comedic potential in having a human sacrifice on hand.

But I wasn't married to the idea by any means.

Also, a question. Since this is marked as small group, what is the sign up limit?

As much as a lot of people rping at once sounds great, having too many people will significantly increase the odds of death, and slow down posts quite a bit.

I'm not really expecting any more than what we have, so whatever we get is fine (that'd be...6 1/2 depending on @Mara <3 ). If for whatever reason this explodes and gets a ton of applications, I'll pick a number and grab whoever I feel fits best/ would create the best tension within the group.

Imma make a CS SOMETIME TOO!!

LETS SAVE DA PRINCESS BOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Anyone else going for a hyper-cheery brawler by chance? Because I'm currently toying with a hyper-cheery and superbly innocent brawler.

Can't say I am.

I'm still pleased with my concept for Pike.

The erm... 'life insurance' was just a means of allowing him to make grievous errors.

In hindsight, it's probably not something I could get away with among people who aren't acquainted with my brand of shenanigans.

Heck, I can even amplify his negative traits now that he has no such armor.

Alisse

Protective ♦ Empathetic ♦ Hard Working ♦ Self Destructive ♦ Stubborn

Name
Alisse Moonglow. Though "auntie" or any other variation of "older female family figure" are acceptable. Sister will embarrass her.

Age
Secret~ (appears roughly 30)

Appearance
As a member of an insectoid/human race she can stick out in a crowd depending on how varied it is. Of the moth variety she has a set of white wings sprouting from somewhere under her shoulder-blades. Two furry yellow antennae sprout from the crown of her head, contrasting her milk colored hair. Fur rings her neck, ankles and wrists, being white to match her traditional hair. Her eyes are of black sclera with rings of orange for pupils, and long lashes. Her face is heart shaped and her skin is as pale as her other features. Her arms, legs and most of her body is covered with a hard carapace. This natural armor is built ergonomically and thus doesn't cover joints or inhibit range of movement in her extremities. She has a thin neck with slender shoulders, and an overall gentle appearance. She keeps her hair mid length in a bob, and wears simple clothing often in white.

Personality
In a single word overprotective would be a good way to describe her. To her everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and even then it's never too late to change. She wishes to ensure peace around her, and is well known for butting into places she isn't needed. While she most often holds to social structure like a normal person, she literally can't help herself from sticking her nose into other's problems. She'd butt into an argument without a second thought and give much more than her two cents. Caring, serene and careful. Three things she remains for very little. As soon as someone she deems her "child" is threatened she becomes a demon. She never lets her hurt or weakness show, and can never agree to being helped herself. Totally selfless in an unhealthy manor, she is constantly worn down by her own behavior.

Class
Mother: If the idea of someone being able to pull the unnatural power a mother can gain on a whim doesn't scare you, it will after you've met Alisse.

Strengths
Momma Bear: She is able to become physically stronger up to a mysterious though not unbeatable degree. She becomes able to survive harsh wounds and even heal others with a positive energy! She can strike an unnatural fear into lesser enemies and has an uncanny awareness of her allies condition and going-ons. Altogether she is the ultimate protector, and a very good ally to have; As long as you don't mind being treated like a spoiled kid. In addition to these abilities she is also adept at cleaning, cooking and general housework.

Weaknesses
Think Of The Children!: She is able to access a wide range of abilities! From healing, becoming physically powerful and resilient or moving incredibly fast. The catch as there always is; she has to be mothering to activate them. If she has no one to take care of she is just a mundane person. Sure she could thrash a bear if it threatened the target of her doting, but if she's targeted alone she's as good as dead. Not only this but she can only have one target "child" at one time. Switching targets takes effort and can only be done if the previous target is not at all threatened. This means she isn't as good at protecting or healing large groups. If she instead has absolutely no targets in sight then she becomes wracked with worry. Unless some sort of message is sent or tangible reason to gain a target from a long ways away, she is more than useless, and can't function until someone to care for strolls along. She is also unable to partake in actions that are particularly violent. She will gladly enter a fight, though killing is off the table, and anything that is needlessly harmful or destructive to persons places or things is not within her scope.

What were you doing when the princess was kidnapped?
Selling her famous cherry pie from her usual stall in the town square. Every year she baked for this festival, and she was proud of of her work. Had a child not tripped and scraped his knee just seconds before, she would have naturally jumped into the fray to protect the poor princess. Of course she couldn't just leave the boy behind either! Priorities can be so hard to sort.

edit:

Wanted to snipe an application while spots were available lmao

Hey, we all start somewhere.

But if that's your attitude, then I think you'll be just fine.

Here's a few pointers that are helpful to keep in mind as you go.

1) Be sure to keep the perspective consistent, whether that's first-person or third-person. I think most people tend to be offput by first-person roleplaying but that doesn't mean you can't do it. Just sorta... watch everyone else and go with the flow.

Edit: On a similar note, it helps to keep the verb tense consistent too. Whether your posts are past or present-tense is generally up to you.

2) Proof-reading. I personally encourage taking a moment after you're done typing up a post. Don't immediately post it. Do something else for a bit to clear your mind, then return to your post and read through it. You'll be amazed how many spelling and grammar errors you find, as well as ways to improve its flow. You miss these kind of things as you're spit-balling ideas onto a notepad.

3) On the topic of notepads... spell check is a wonderful tool for new roleplayers and veterans alike. No one's perfect so it helps to have something double-checking our work. There are a number of free alternatives to Microsoft Word that provide this functionality too. Of course it's not the end of the world if you have an error here or there, and no one cares how you talk in OOC (Out Of Character) chat. It's just a courtesy to clean up those posts for everyone else who'll be reading them.

I'mma throw in my hat. Currently working on a character who (wrongfully) believes that they are the Chosen One and the main protagonist of everyone's story and the sole fact that they haven't saved the world yet and been revered as a genius is because life is totally completely unfair and their own ineptitude is clearly the work of some grand conspiracy to keep the prophesies from coming to pass.

So pretty much what would've happened if Boromir and Cloud had a crummy love child like the one in my fanfic.

Trying to think of some strengths and weaknesses for Cyndyr. Once I get that done, other than the personality trait stuff, I should be completely done.

The overlap is kind of making me upsetti. Should I revise my cleric's personality so she doesn't have the two "sets" of personality traits or should I just keep it as is? Decisions, decisions.
