Guinevere Stark & Folly Valeska
Location: Grounds of the Institute
Guin got there just in time to hear Mary's Star Wars reference and she couldn't have been prouder of her friend. Of course, she was also beaming because her EMP grenade took down a Sentinel like a drunken prom date. She sent another one off, figuring that the more of these things they could take down, the better. "These buckets of bolts are definitely Hammer Tech," she said with a bit of a laugh. "I'm not even sure these things will be hard to hack anymore," she added to Cassandra. "Could even make a drinking game out of it - take a shot for every Sentinel you disable effortlessly. Be completely hammered by the end of the night - which I guess is why it's called Hammer Tech, right?" she boasted.
"Shit that's cool..." Guin said as Thalia landed with Folly. Folly hadn't mentioned anything about what had just happened - she didn't need to. She knew that Thalia had her little visitor on occasion and with all of the meddling with time, she wasn't surprised that he had come back. And she certainly wasn't going to be freaked out by it - when she was off of her medication, Folly saw people that weren't really there all the time. Folly stared at Mary for a moment, realizing from the conversations that the others had told her what was going to happen.
Guin tried not to gag as Nina showed up. She would have preferred another Sentinel came their way than Nina of all people coming to help. She was just waiting for the day that Nina decided to sleep with Hank Pym or someone and she'd be out of her life for good. She also was tempted to remind Nina that Cass wasn't in charge - Mary was. In fact, a lot of people seemed to need that reminder. S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't have any authority here unless the field commander of the X-Men decided they did. And that just so happened to be Mary.
Richard's words were the last straw, and while Guin knew Mary was fuming, NO ONE talked about her friends like that. She walked up to the glorified babysitter and decked him across the jaw, hard enough to send him stumbling backwards and for him to spit a bit of blood out of his mouth. He wouldn't be able to drag Mary anymore. "Okay, in case people need a reminder, Mary is fucking in charge! It's called chain of command. Until the day Xavier takes her out of the position, she leads the X-Men. S.H.I.E.L.D. is here in an assistive capacity, meaning Mary makes the plans and S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't. Don't like it, you can fucking go to hell!" She hadn't heard that Mary was supposedly going to die, but even if she had, it wouldn't have changed her mind. Any changes of heart she'd had about Richard vanished. No one called her best friend a weed. No one.
Folly raised an eyebrow at Guin. "You're much calmer these days," she mused.
Dean Kesseli
Location: Blackbird
Dean couldn't help but feel a bit surprised. He thought Starks were just born knowing everything there was to know about science and technology. However, he then remembered where Mira was from - Wakanda. Her slight accent gave it away. And from what he had heard in rumors, they were way more technologically advanced than they appeared to be. "Can you figure it out, then? Did they teach how to fly planes in Wakandan schools?" he asked her.
"Yeah, actually..." Dean said, before trying to think of something for Bethany to do. "Any chance you know how to give someone stitches and a blood transfusion?" He had a feeling Beast was going to need both of those. While he had bandaged him up and done his best to stop the bleeding, it was all a temporary fix at best. He was hoping that people would get onto the Blackbird soon, but the speedsters seemed to be off somewhere still so he doubted it was happening any time soon. The sooner they took off, the sooner they could find someone with more medical experience than a teenage boy.
"Uh, Mira....Where are we flying to if this thing takes off? Could it be somewhere with actual medical personnel? That'd be pretty cool if that's at all possible..."
