Nora coughed when she awoke, rising and shutting her window a little more firmly, but the scent of smoke from the air had already entered her room. After a few moments, it did not bother her as much - it was rather faint but she tried not to chance anything when it came to respiratory ailments. She had brushed with death as a young girl and did not care to repeat the experience. Spot was taking a nap on the sofa and Nora heard a gentle knock on the door. She quickly made herself presentable, having already changed into her clothing for the day. A beige-nude day dress combined with gloves and a cloche hat, Nora still felt the slight tingle in her finger signifying that the brand was truly there.

"Oh, thank you Aton," Nora said softly, as she opened the door and saw him there with the tray. It had been incredibly kind of him to bring her breakfast and she read the note from Neema, nodding to herself slightly. She couldn't anticipate that Neema would be free every moment of the day. She glanced at the calendar and saw that it was a Sunday. She could not help but imagine her father would be too busy attending Church and then socializing with other peers in order to notice her slight absence. She hesitated for a moment. She was not a very bold person. She tended to be more quiet and withdrawn. "...Would you care to join me for breakfast?" she then asked quietly.

Lauren Ridgeway

Location: Streets of Cairo

As Lauren walked among the busy streets, she still took in all of the sights and sounds that went on around her, the air was still very hot to her. And she was surprised that a lot of people were still out and active, Lauren ran a hand through her hair as she eyed a few of the shopping stalls that were close to the street. She had thought about buying something, but decided against it Lauren had been led to a few stalls in the past as they tried to get her to buy things for them. But she didn't buy anything she did what she could to not show any interest in buying anything from them. Even though she really did want to, she didn't have that much money on her currently and she did need it to buy her own food and other things as well.

Lauren could still smell the smoke in the air, and wondered where the fire had happened, and wondered if anyone ended up getting injured or worse. She would occasionally look at some one the people around her and gave them a friendly smile and nod, and also said good morning to a few of them. Lauren continued to follow the streets, remembering some of the way to the barracks from the day before and started to think if she should have actually stayed there instead.

Josephine Clark

Location: Barracks
Skills: N/A

Josephine waited for Akhmed to make himself decent before she left, arm in arm with him and made her way to where breakfast was being served. Today was the day, wasn't it? The day that would start their journey. To think it was a little while ago that she traveled to this country, met an adorable journalist, and got sucked into this adventure? Up until that point, the most adventure she ever had was in the bedroom.

Not that that part changed much.

But now she was going to be traveling, trying to unravel a mystery, a curse. Death followed, as poor Haakon found out the hard way. Her mind was set that it was deliberate, meaning that someone that knew of them and their journey was the one who committed the foul act. But who? Was it one of her traveling companions? She didn't know most of them all too well, admittedly. Haakon was the only one she knew deeply. Could she really trust the others? Not really. She was on her own, for the most part. She was sure they would leave her behind if they had the chance.

October 5th, 1924 - 9:30 a.m. Local Time - A New Day

Akhmed was more than happy to do whatever it was that Josephine wished of him. He dressed himself, albeit in a teasing manner. Once that was complete he held his arm out to her and they were off. On their way. A giddy grin was plastered on his lips as he made his way down the stairs, through the barracks to where morning breakfast was being held. It was later in the day than when he would normally have breakfast but he would have much rather preferred to stay in bed even longer. Perhaps a ice hotel room with room service would be warranted this evening. That was if she wished to have him company once again.

"If you wish I could get a hotel room for this evening, then we wouldn't have to crawl out of bed for breakfast," he whispered against her ear.

The receptionist smiled and gave a morning greeting to Lauren as she passed. The streets were bustling, people going this way and that. Several people were looking at their own copies of the morning addition and speaking in the local tongue about it. Or at least it seemed that way. A sand colored short hair cat brushed up against Laurens leg and meowed up at her as it kept rubbing itself against her legs.

Another hotel, another receptionist. This time along with the morning greeting acknowledged about the lack of room cleaning services needed today in Mosi's room and made a note of it. Outside, the city was a busy here as it was elsewhere but Mosi would be able to spot a certain Museum employee off in the distance as he went about his daily life. Unless he looked back, it would be highly unlikely he would spot her.

"Yes, of course, walks very well, very well," the man assured Mahendra about the food.

"I would love to," he said as he took a seat. "You look beautiful this morning, did you sleep well?" he asked as he got comfortable and poured them some tea. It was stronger than the normal English Earl Gray or Builders Tea and had an exotic smell to it. Placing a dollop of honey and a dried fig into the cup he handed it over to her. "Sip slowly," he warned her before fixing himself a cup.

Vera sat up slowly and felt the world on her shoulders, it had been a long night. She hadn't realized that George had remained with her that evening but when she saw him she didn't ask him to leave. There was a look of appreciation on her features that told him thank you even though she remained silent. George seemed to understand her unspoken words and nodded before walking over to the window and looking out of it. It seemed he was giving her a bit of privacy to ready herself for the day. She did, stepping behind the changing screen. Stepping out she was dressed in black. Not a color she normally wore and while her and Peter had not been wed or even engaged, that was what they would have been had he not died... Again... To her it was only fitting. Now that she was dressed and rested a hand on Georges shoulder to let him know she was ready, they made their way down to the breakfast room.

Eye puffy from a nights worth of tears were partially covered by a mourning veil. George nodded at Josephine and her guest before leading Vera to a seat near the Lord Major and sitting himself next to her. Vera seemed to be distant right then as George tended to preparing them a morning tea. "Mmm, is there anything I can help with Lord Major?" he asked in a raspy voice, breaking the silence.

The city was just how it was yesterday - busy and hot. Mosi didn't really mind that too much, but the heat was bound to get worse as the day progressed. Yesterday she spend a lot of time in the museum in the afternoon so she evaded some of the heat. This time though she had other plans for the day, she had to go meet with Rosheen! It was her one true goal for the day, followed by fixing some garments from the fabrics she bought yesterday with Rosheen and then as third thing to do, she planned to pick a new sheath for the blade she recieved last night. All in all she had a busy day ahead of her.

Suddenly as she walked, Mosi spotted a familiar face ahead of her somewhat. It was that fellow Mahendra. She smiled, seeing him go about his daily routine and preparing to buy some breakfast it seemed. She snickered and quickly hastened her pace. Some quick deducation led her to believe he was probably heading to the museum since he worked there now. Heading in the same direction, they might as well walk together and chat until the alleyway of wonder as she took to calling it.

"Hey, Mahendra, good morning, slept well?" She asked with a smile, calling out to him. She had moved closer to place a hand on his shoulder, but doing so would be only for close friends! Who cared, she patted him on the shoulder in the most familiar manner anyways." Heading to the museum? I'm headed in the same direction, want to walk part of hte way together?" Priscilla asked with a huge grin on her face.

Mahendra Huq Zalil

Location: In the streets of Cairo
Skills: Social cameleon

"Very well. I'll take one." Mahendra didn't quite catch what the vendor had said exactly, and paid the man for his hopefully delicious breakfast before the words quite sunk in. He tilted his head slightly to the side as he was handed what he recognized as a falafel, not noticing the familiar stranger coming towards him. It could have been the buzzling street drowning out her recognizable voice, the amusing phrasing of the vendor going through Mahendra's mind or a combination of them two, but he didn't realize she was there until she came even closer and put a hand on his shoulder.

How odd for a woman to do, but Mahendra recognized her - eccentric - personality the day before, so he tried not to think about it too much.

"Good morning, Mosi. How pleasent to meet you again." Mahendra replied to Mosi in his Bengali accent, turning to face her still holding the falafel in his hands. Hopefully the Gods would look favourably upon him that day and keep the falafel from dirtying his shirt. "Well enough I suppose, just dreamt of yesterday's event in a peculiar way." That was as far as he wanted to elaborate on his night's sleep, prefering to keep such talk away from the no doubt prying eyes of the vendor. "How about yourself? I didn't see you leave the hotel this morning when I left."

Mahendra smiled at Mosi at her pleasent demeanour that morning. It was nice to see people smile for once, especially compared to the day before. "Actually I am going to the Barracks to meet Lady Munn, but I'd be more than happy to walk still. It's just next beside each other after all." Mahendra accepted her proposal, holding out one hand for her to hold as they would walk down the street. The other hand still held the Falafel, ready for consumption. This could go two ways; either very well, or very bad.

"What is the nature of your business today then, Mosi? You weren't going all the way to the museum?"

Reginald Keystone

Location: Qasr El Nil Barracks (His Quarters -> VIP Commons)
Skills: N/A

Reginald gave a long sigh and quickly finished off the cup of tea he had procured for himself. He was not without a sense of empathy for the others affected by the tragic events of the previous day, although it could be said that he was not particularly thinking about the mental and emotional well-being of the guests of the Barracks in that moment, so much as he was concerned with his direct blood relations back home. He had always had strained relations with his brother, and now he had to inform him of Peter's passing yet again. The thought stopped him; had he even confirmed Peter's arrival in Cairo with him? Had Peter? Was the first bit of news to reach the man's ears be about the death of his son - again?

Such thought would have to be banished for the meantime. It served no purpose except to make an already difficult situation worse. One step at a time, and that step now was to acquire the remains of dear Peter, what there was to acquire, at least. To that effect, he answered the question pose to him by George by asking one of his own, now that he had risen and was about to leave for the motor pool. "Indeed yes, Mr. Benaszewski." he began, keeping his voice quiet and even, so as to not broadcast his query nor show unintended disrespect. "I am leaving to secure the remains of my nephew. If you know, perhaps you might tell me if said remains require a larger or smaller container for travel? I should hate to go about this unprepared, you see." Reginald gave a quick glance around, hoping that he had not just caused any undue distress to those that may have overheard.

As Lauren walked along the streets she listened in on the conversations going on around her, even though she didn't speak or understand the language. She did noticed that some of them were holding the local newspaper as they went on about their day, Lauren assumed that they were talking about the fire as well. As she continued to make her way towards the Barracks Lauren nearly tripped when she felt something brushing up against her legs. When Lauren looked down she noticed a short haired cat rubbing against her legs, the fur reminded her of the sand that surrounded the area. "Well hello there little guy." Lauren said as she knelt down and started to gently pet the cat rubbing behind it's ear and smiled towards it.

Lauren remembered growing up with at least two cats when she was little, the cats that she knew never came out to strangers and usually hid whenever people decided to come into her family's house. This cat however seemed to be pretty nice as it meowed at her, Lauren smiled once more. She started to get up again and tried to walk forward only to nearly be tripped again by the cat, sighing slightly as she continued to pet the cat and knelt down. Lauren started to look around wondering if the cat did belong to anyone, and tried to look around to see if there was any kind of collar on it as well.

Nora Kingston

There was a slight blush to Nora's cheeks as Aton complimented her looks. In British society, she found that such a phrase was just superficial and didn't mean anything - yet she had come to the conclusion that Aton was not saying that to merely be polite. She never thought of herself as a particularly beautiful person. Her features always struck her as rather plain and mousey at times. Of course, a good part of that was because she never went for anything with flash or bright colors in her wardrobe. As long as she was comfortable, she found herself to be at ease - not that she wanted to look sloppy, of course.

"Yes, for perhaps the first time in some time," Nora answered softly. She had been plagued by dreams almost every night in Cairo - dreams that never made any sort of sense. Her sleep had been restful and did not include omens of horrors to come - for which Nora was thankful and yet, perplexingly, a little disheartened. If her dreams were able to give meaning to the strange events that had begun to occur, then she wanted them to occur at the greatest frequency they could, whilst still allowing her to function during the daylight hours. "Thank you," Nora then said with a small smile, taking a slow sip of the offered tea.

Josephine Clark

Location: Barracks

Josephine made her way to the officer's lounge, arm in arm with her companion, unabashed in her display. The man's offer was tantalizing, to be sure. However, she still had this trip she was going to be a part of. "A worthy offer, and one I would consider under normal circumstances, but darling, as it stands, I am to be a part of a grand adventure. I believe today is the day we leave, provided all goes well, but I may be wrong, given recent events."

Josephine entered the room, escorted by the man with the unfortunate face as he led Lady Munn, who was also looking unfortunate in attire alone. Before she could break the silence and satiate her curiosity, George did so and the Lord Major responded.

Remains? What was this? "Pardon my intrusion, but what remains. What has happened?" The Lord Major mentioned his nephew, and it took a bit of thinking on her part to remember the man, Peter, whom had his eye on Lady Munn. It now made sense why Vera was dressed like that, and Josephine could kick herself for being curious. "Dear me, I am truly sorry to hear about this. Please, accept my condolences." She offered them both to the Lord Major and to Lady Munn. She had lost Haakon and now, it seemed, they had lost another person.

October 5th, 1924 - 9:40 a.m. Local Time - A New Day

Looking over at the Lord Major for a moment, his eye drifted towards Vera. This was not something he wished to discuss in front of her it seemed. The woman looked completely out of touch. Reaching over her placed a comforting hand on her shoulder before his attention went back to the Lord Major. "Mmm, I can go to supply with you before you leave mmmm," he said as he pulled his hand away from the woman.

Vera's eyes came up slowly and she swallowed, she didn't know why George didn't answer but she was glad he didn't. If they had only needed a small box it would mean that the remains were damaged, that the body wasn't whole, or something else. She might not have been a doctor but she had been working with the corpses of the dead, long dead, so very long dead, so she had a good idea of what size box was needed to transport the dead from one location to the other.

The kitty meowed to Lauren, rubbing up against her leg and leaning into the scratch. Seemed the cat wasn't going to go away but from the looks of things there was no one around that was looking for the feline. It didn't have a collar but looking closer at the kitties fur the colors were similar to ones seen in recent dreams and there was what looked to be a marking in the fur. It was distorted but one could make out that it looked very similar to a certain symbol that was branded into some friends of the group.

The streets were bustling, people moving this way and that. Yet it was moving being a little slower than normal. It was probably because of the smell of smoke in the air which seemed to cover the city. Even though they were close to the Nile there was not a lot of wind about to clear it out and so it lingered, moving slowly, and even coming into the barracks and the rooms since the windows were open. Vera found herself sniffle at the smell. Putting an easy two and two together that it had to be from the fire that Peter died in.

Akhmed sighed as he heard about Peter. He didn't know the man but it was obvious that it was affecting Vera in a bad way. Looking over towards Josephine he nodded and gave his condolences. Vera looked up at Josephine and her bottom lip trembled. "Mmm, could you stay with her? I will go with Lord Major, mmm," he suggested. Perhaps it would be best this way. Vera seemed to be responding something to Josephines presence and he didn't want the Lord Major to be alone retrieving the body. He doubted they would be without some others from the barracks but none that knew Peter the way that Keystone and George did.

Aton nodded and held his cup of tea up. "That is good to hear," he said before taking another sip. As he lowered the glass he looked at her over the top of it and smiled slightly before setting it down. "What are your plans for today if you do not mind me asking and may feature in them if that is possible?" he asked gently as he picked up a small bite to eat before popping it in his mouth. There were things to do and the hour was passing quickly. What time was it again that Nora was supposed to meet with her?

“How peculiar, but do not worry about it.” She said and waved her hand in dismissing manner.” It's normal to not spot me, I seem to have woken up and left the hotel slightly after you have so it's only natural we did not cross paths inside of the building.” Mosi added with a slight amused laughter as if it was the most natural thing to do before she moved her hand away from Mahendra's shoulder finally. She was still acting really friendly though not in the typical female fashion that was accepted.

“Mmm, I feel I'd better not take your hand this time, Mahendra.” She said with a sly smirk before pointed at his busy with food hand.” Hindering a person who's about to have a meal on the road is a bad thing to do! Imagine if you get food all over yourself!” Priscilla added in completely theatrical manner with a voice that was just slightly too into the whole being fakely shocked thing, but then she laughed again and patted him on the shoulder.” Really though, do not need to be some gentlemanly with me, do not worry. I'm not some damsel waiting for a prince to treat her like a precious gem they might break.” The woman explained and looked around.

“No, I'm not. Well at least not for now anyhow. Might not be visiting the museum today, I have a prior arrangement to meet with a friend.” She said with happy voice and playful fires danced in her eyes, thinking about the fiery woman whom she called a friend now.” Well that's my plans for the day. Might also browse the stalls for some good old crafts. I need a sheath for that blade I got last night too.” Mosi added.

After a while they finally reached the alleyway of wonder as Mosi took a liking to refer to it in her mind.” Well this's my stop. Have a good day, Mahendra! Hope we see again later.” She called aloud with a wave of her hand and bolted in the direction at Rosheen's place.

Mahendra Huq Zalil

Location: In the streets of Cairo --> Qasr El Nil Barracks (Front gates)
Skills: Social cameleon

Mahendra was at first not certain if he should laugh alongside Mosi at what could have been a witty comment, or feel somewhat offended at whatever she was going at. The way she dismissed his talk with her hand, speaking of not being seen and telling him it best not to take her hand as they were to walk through Cairo; it was all strange. Very, very strange for a woman of what he presumed was her social standing. Then again she had shown her true colours earlier, and her reasoning for not accepting his hand was logical enough. Comical, but logical.

"Well you are right about that, dear Mosi. Food is meant to be eaten while seated, so this is one of my few expections. I'll do my best not to be 'too gentlemanly, if such thing is possible for a British subject, colonial or not." Mahendra said back as an answer to his American companion. She was indeed an odd fellow, if one could say such thing about a woman, but she light-hearted and fun he supposed. The Benagli smiled at her cheerful mood as they continued to walk, she spoke and he ate the falafel as best he could.

It was delicious.

"Then I do hope that you have a pleasent time with your friend. Perhaps you will find the time to visit the barracks afterwards, if the guards allow visitor inside?" That was a good question he posed. Would he himself be allowed entry? Had Vera told the responsible officer that she was expecting her assistant; a partly English-Bengali-dressed colonial with a thick accent who was educated in geology? He was given little time to answer that question, as Mosi continued. "A sheath? Yes, I suppose that is an integral part of the weapon. Wouldn't want to get cut by accident? Do tell if you find a sabre, would you? Perhaps being armed in these times isn't such a bad idea?"

Soon they had come to the time where Mosi's and Mahendra's paths seperated, for better or for worse. Mahendra, now mostly finished with the falafel, waved back after Mosi as she made her way off somewhere...somewhere he didn't know. He hadn't asked where exactly that place was or who her 'friend' was, but that would be rude regardless. "Have a good day you too, Mosi! I am certain our paths will cross again soon!" With Mosi gone, Mahendra finished the falafel -without getting his clothes and fingers dirtied up, mind you- and soon arrived at the gates of the Qasr El Nil Barracks of the British Army.

"Good morning. My name is Mahendra Huq Zalil, and I'm supposed to meet Lady Munn here at ten o'clock today. I am her new assistant at the Museum." Mahendra walked up to the front of the barracks and tried to make contact with the soldier most befitting the role of allowing civilians inside. As he asked for permission, Mahendra pulled out his wallet and took out his certificats. At least he could prove he was himself. Now he just hoped they would let him inside.

Lauren Ridgeway

Location: Streets of Cairo -> Qasr El Nil Barracks (Front gates)

Lauren sighed slightly when she couldn't find any sort of identification for the cat which was a little bit disappointing to her, no one seemed to have owned the cat and assumed that it was just a stray. When she looked at it's fur a little bit better it then started to remind her of the weird dreams that she had recently been having ever since she stepped foot into the country. Lauren then looked at it's side for a moment and noticed a very strange marking that looked oddly like the strange symbol that she had been seeing on some of the acquaintances that she had bumped into the last day or so. Lauren normally wasn't very religious or believed in the supernatural but it all seemed to be very weird that everything had been going in the span of a few days.

"I guess you get to come with me then." Lauren said smiling at the cat as she reached over and picked up the cat, making sure that she held the cat gingerly. She didn't want the thing to panic and then claw the hell out of her either, as Lauren looked around at some of the people still no one seemed to want to claim the cat. Lauren started to continue to make her way along the streets of Cairo until she found herself on a familiar stretch of road, and eventually spotted the barracks just across the street.

As Lauren got a bit closer she started to hear a familiar voice as she got closer Laruen smiled as she saw Mahendra at the gates letting the guards know that he was Lady Munn's assistant. As she got closer Lauren waved at him with her free arm and gave the man a friendly smile. "Good morning Mahendra." Lauren said towards him as she gently petted the kitten on the head as she looked at the men at the front gates. "I'm with him as well, I believe the Lord Major is expecting us, and Lady Munn as well." She said calmly.

Reginald Keystone

Location: Qasr El Nil Barracks (VIP Commons -> Motor Pool -> Front Gate)
Skills: N/A

The subtle nod from himself to Vera did not go unnoticed. This was most assuredly not the proper conversation to have in front of a lady who had just lost someone, even if he had suffered the same loss. Reginald's own way of throwing himself into work to deal with grief was not everyone's; he would be well placed to remember that. With a quiet, humble murmur, he intoned, "Apologies, yes... So very sorry." Continuing, he addressed George. "Yes please, do join me if you would, Mr. Benaszewski. I should expect to require assistamce of both a moral and physical nature."

Reginald stood from the table, leaving it to be cleared by the service staff, and made his way out into the cresting sun of Egypt alongside George. He gave the man an affirming look, one of gratitude and respect. This man knew Peter as a soldier, and was still here to assist in his final preparations. The Lord Major appreciated it highly.

Their destination in the interim was the motor pool, where true to orders the vehicle from the previous day was all petroled up and waiting on them, a driver behind the wheel with eyes forward, driving cap and all. As soon as the Lord Major was spotted, the Rolls Royce's engine growled to life and an wnlisted man saw to the opening of the doors to accommodate its intended passengers.

Once everyone and everything was appropriately loaded in, the iconic vehicle slowly pulled away from its designated pick-up poont and crept toward the Main Gate, amid a number of personnel snapping to attention and initiating salutes as it passed by. Once at the gates, Reginald and George were greeted by the sights of Lauren and Mahendra requesting access to the Barracks.

"Miss Ridgeway has billeting here under the VIP wing, you see..." he said to the guards from his spot in the car, motioning for them to enter. "...and Mr. Zalil, though a touch unexpected, works for the Lady Munn at the Museum. Give him guest access, but definitely allow him admittance to Lady Munn. I believe Miss Ridgeway should be headed in that very direction now, yes?" A bit terse perhaps, but he meant well."Carry on."

The Lord Major then motioned forward, followed by the vehicle lumbering out and onto the streets of Cairo. They had the unpleasant but necessary task of tending to their fallen loved one.

Nora Kingston

Location: Garden City - Apartment 301 Maratos Building at No.6 Walda Pasha ----> Museum Entrance

Nora thought for a moment before her eyes widened slightly. She had almost forgotten the hour of her appointment with Lady Munn! A quick glance at a clock told her that she had but twenty minutes to spare and she relaxed slightly. She was confident that if she left now, she could make it to the museum in time for the appointed meeting - and Lady Munn had specified around ten o'clock, though Nora would hate to be late. It would be just rude and impolite, especially after how frazzled Lady Munn had been the night before. Nora had to imagine that Peter and George had returned, hopefully to soothe Vera's nerves - yet at the same time, she was of the opinion that Peter's presence caused some stress of its own to dear Lady Munn.

"I cannot quite imagine how it slipped my mind, but I have an appointment with Lady Munn to keep," Nora explained quietly, taking another sip of her tea. "It is at ten o'clock at the museum...And you are more than welcome to walk with me there, if you'd like. I do not know if you could be admitted to my meeting with Lady Munn but...I have no other pressing plans today." She wasn't sure if he wanted to court her or if he was just being friendly, so Nora decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. She gave him a smile and finished her tea, before she walked as quickly as she could to the museum - with or without Aton.

Josephine Clark

Location: Barracks (Officer's Lounge) -> Outside (On Way to Museum)
Skills: N/A

Josephine nodded at George and made her way around to where Vera sat. She could slap herself for being so stupid. The woman was clearly distraught over Peter's passing. She knew only too well what she must be going through. She put an arm delicately over Vera's shoulders, to comfort and console. "There there, darling. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I am sure Peter was a lovely man and the Lord Major will do right in making sure he is returned so we can properly see him off. I know what you are going through. I just lost someone recently and it shattered my world. If you need someone to talk to, I know we don't know each other too well yet, but I'd like to offer myself if you need it."

Josephine stood up, offering Vera a hand up as well. Looking over to Akhmed, she smiled before she spoke again, "Let's go to the museum. We need to head over there anyway, and I would love to hear about the things going on in there. I haven't visited a museum in years, so I am a tad rusty in what they offer. I would love to hear about it." Josephine took Vera away from the lounge and started making her way outside. She supported Vera, should the woman need it. Women had to look out for each other, after all.

October 5th, 1924 - 10:00 a.m. Local Time - A New Day

The alleyway was as it was the day before but without Rosheen. She was no where to be seen over there and it seemed to have left the owner a bit short staffed that day. Luckily the breakfast rush was over and things were calming down. The smell of the fire still hung heavy in the air, the winds were not kicking in yet during the day. The heat rising quickly now that the sun had fully broken the horizon.

George went with the Lord Major to gather what was needed after thanking Josephine and bidding Vera goodbye. He made sure to let her know he would hep take care of everything and see her later that day. Vera barely nodded but as Josephine ushered her up she went. She didn't fight it. She seemed to be in shock. Akhmed went with them. He needed to go to the museum anyways since it was where he worked. That and he didn't really want to leave Josephines side yet, that and if Vera had a tripping or fainting spell it would probably be a good idea that he was there to catch her. Not that he didn't think Josephine could handle things herself but she shouldn't have to.

Aton smiled a he stood up and held his hand out to Nora. "It would be an honor to escort you, if you don't mind that is," he said with a broad smile. He was more than happy to go with her to the museum. Even if he hadn't been his aunt would have probably slapped him silly for not at least offering, yet that wasn't playing into his train of thought right then. He enjoyed her company. "The walk won't take long," he added.

As they reached the gate, the Lord Major was pulling out with George and two others were at the gate wishing entry. Vera looked over to them but kept walking in silence with Josephine out of the gate and towards the Museum. The museum was already open that day, it had been for the last hour. "Forgive the Lady, she is in a bit of shock. Peter was lost last night in the fire. We are going to the museum, why don't you come with us," Akhmed offered as he followed Josephine and Vera past the gate and towards the museum.

The kitty meowed and purred, snuggling up. By the time they got there, Nora was already there. Vera looked over to her, her eyes and dress said everything that needed to be said. Akhmed sighed a bit and let Nora and Aton know what happened. "My condolences Lady Munn," Aton added as he got the door for everyone that was there.

Priscilla Harker

Location: Alleyway of Wonder
Skills: None

Having arrived at the Alley, Mosi quickly discovered the fact that Rosheen was not at the foodstand. She made a gesture of greeting to the man there whom she recalled from yesterday and walked around and towards the side where the entrance to Rosheen place was. She remembered they had agreed today to meet so might as well check there. With a agile pace she more or less almost running as she finally located the door from yesterday. She knocked on the door a few times and waited.” Rosheen?” She called again, but to no avail as no response was being had that moment. For all she knew it was empty.

Mosi was being a little confused while standing there in front of the door. This had not happened to her quite before. Of all things to happen to be stood up... “ Well.... hmmm... what now?” She mumbled to herself and turned on her heels to leave and head to the food place around.” Have you seen Rosheen?” She tried to explain, making the intonation fall under the name, but to her mystery it appeared that the redhead woman was nowhere to be seen around here right now. 3 days off...

“Ohhh bugger...” She mumbled and sat down on one of the stools. Might as well right? She gestured the the man whom Rosheen worked with.” Bring me something to eat and drink if you can.” She said in friendly voice while also gesturing around, her mind wandering off as she was trying to think off what to do now that she suddenly had a huge hole in her schedule. She sighed and shook her head.” This is not how I planned this day, but better think of how to make the best of it. After meal I will go shopping for a sheath. Yeah... a sturdy leather one.” Mosi mumbled to herself, waiting for food to be brought.

Mahendra Huq Zalil

Location: Qasr El Nil Barracks (Front gates)
Skills: n/a

The morning kept sneaking up on Mahendra with surprises when he heard yet another familiar voice calling for him. Turning around he saw that this time it was Lauren, and out of all things she was carrying a cat. What on Earth was she doing with a cat? Though the most peculiar sight he'd witnessed in Cairo, it was still odd. "Good morning, Miss Ridg...Lauren, a pleasent surprise to see you here. And who is this, your little friend?" But Mahendra nodded back to Lauren and gave her a smile nonetheless, especially when she vouched for him at the gate. The pleasent surprises kept coming with the arrival, or more precicely the departure of the Lord Mayor and...George, the mask-man, with a rather elegant automobile. The Lord Major gave both of them access to the Barracks, which made Mahendra feel more confident that he wouldn't be thrown away. Quite physically. "Thank you, Lord Major Sir. I promise I won't trespass in any proper British military area, and only go where I am allowed." Mahendra said reassuringly to the Lord Major as he and George alongside the car passed them, but his tone fell once he started to feel something...something was off. Something he couldn't quite put his finger on.

That 'something' became clear as day once more familiar faces appeared. Vera was clearly shaken to her core by something awfull, Josephine was helping her and Akhmed explained what was the cause of all this. "Horrible...simply unbelievable...Yes, of course. We'll come with you. Lauren, will you come too?" Mahendra was shocked too. Now the smoke really got a better hold of him that before, as the connection became so apparent. Another death, this was not normal. "My deepest condolences, Lady Munn." Mahendra added as they walked, not knowing what fruitful to add to the conversation. Hopefully the Museum wouldn't give them any more surprises, although Mahendra was doubting any resemblance of normality with every coming tragedy.
