Just as a note: Not going to put a limit on roleplayers, but going to suggest breaking the RP up into teams of small-group RPs for most things, plus a common-IC RP area for introductions and figuring out what team you'll want to be in (or just to pester the other teams for shenanigans).

Short answer, Earth is dead, humanity is pretty much gone. Rather than go off into the cold dark quietly, scientists opted to begin terraforming any available planet to make them suitable for colonies while others tried to extend the lifespans through any means necessary (more on that later).

The monster part is easy enough... robots aren't 100% self-sustaining, nor is any single design optimized for every concievable envirionment, so it was generally easier to just augment local wildlife up to and maybe a bit beyond human standards. So long as they're augmented to the point of being human enough for cross-breeding, purposes.

Which goes to the girl part of the question. The technology required to do the first part is kinda finicky, so it's just easier to increase the population the old fashioned way as soon and rapidly as possible. _{Doubling the X chromosome is also easier than finding an intact Y chromosome in the entiere bunch.}

Remember those scientists trying to extend the human lifespan? That sorta backfired. We have necromorphs now. Dullahans and the like are pretty much clones of "good" necromorphs, with higher brain functions generally restored.

That said, many of the other monster-girls don't exactly trust the undead of any sort.

We also found out a nearly braindead necromorph can't do a whole lot when confined inside of a mecha.

There are male monsters, though, but they're a bit younger... then there's the undead... As I stated, some of them aren't the bitey aggressive kind and served as host genetics to the undead monster girls (he'd be their papa!)

There'd also be some guys that opted to just imprint their memories into a new body in order to live longer that way... although the problem with this is that the original body does continue to live... until it dies like everyone else.

I must ask: How big are the mechs? Gundam-sized like the ones in Code Geass or are they a bit smaller or just moderately taller than a human? Besides that, are other Dead Space features also present like The Markers?

Anyway, after my RP died *sigh* and with school ending soonish, I should be able to squeeze this in. What level of play are we in?

Good quuestion, which I intentionally didn't mark down. Since that's dependant on who's seriously interested.

My goal was that soon as everyone get familiar with the other characte to spin everyone off into smaller groups to best suit their prefereances. Be it 1x1 or a larger small group of six in a freestyle approach.

But the general vibe was not to constrain players too much.

I'm even allowing for a nearly-nonexistant CS as a nice turn so long as we get a name, what sort of monster-girl, and what sort of mech (or if they plan on just getting issued a mech by the academy) with everything else being largely optional (but seriously, if you're trying to get accepted into a small-team, and your CS looks too sloppy...). Further details could also be worked out either ICly or gleaned from OOC chatter here or elsewhere.

Having not actually played dead space myself, I'm going a bit light on the lore since I sorta started out with placeholder aliens from Muv-Luv when I started the idea. Plus, since these necromorphs are just alien-science gone terribly wrong, probably not too much risk of instant planetwide infections. Despite this small blessing, things aren't looking too great.

As for mechs... I'm leaning towards anything from the size of VOTOMs or Infinite Stratos out to maybe the size of a Veriable Fighter from the Macross and Muv Luv franchises. _{Since something truly gundam sized nearly qualifies as a human-shaped space-shuttle.}

Yes, automotons, living armors, and yes... even possessed demonic swords do exist in the MGE and would be acceptable.
-Some of them may take greater mental gymnastics, similar to explaining the eccentric habit of a certain garlic-loving nom-happy demi-vampire.

Just going to point out that robots do tend to break down, and hard to repair. Especially the ones with human levels of intelligence.

Plus not everyone copes with realizing they woke up a robot quite so well as others, especially if there's a considerable amount of time between the upload to a file, and download into a working robotic hull. There actually was a game that covered this problem.

Well, it seems I've got at least one person volunteering to co-GM, and more than plenty of interest (_{big shock}), so I guess I'll "soon" stop procrastinating and get an RP thread up. Hopefully y'all okay with showing up at the academy (the kind of school where you get to pound your classmates [and instructors] with mechas instead of just learning basic theory and PT coursework).

Oh, and ofc, being catapulted off a cliff while your professor sips a warm relaxing beverage.

Any suggestions for flavor-art as a header? I don't have much preferance for the artistic side of this.

Not sure if I should take on another RP but the fact that you keep mentioning Muv-Luv is like a taunting gesture to me.



For now, I'll keep an eye on this.

Anyway, I think that it might be better to keep the group as a singular squad, rather than split them off into small groups. Since you keep bringing up Muv-Luv, I could dig out some resources that I had for my Muv-Luv RP I was running at the time to see if it gives you any ideas in regards to mission stuff and all that.

Also not keen on "nearly-nonexistant CSes", but that's more so my opinion.

@Sola Mission-ideas would indeed be helpful. Especially if this "accidentally" becomes a persistant RP that will refuse to die for a few years. (or gets picked up by someone else after this dies due to mismanagement)

-A near-blank CS pretty much means everyone is going to presume that character is a racist sterotype of that monster until proven otherwise in the IC.
