People are saying it apparently isn't Damian, other people know Bat-Brats better than me, who else can it be? The look looks very Damian.

Sad to say, I'll have to drop out. I just can't muster up the motivation to get excited about this kind of thing. Sorry guys.

Not sure if it's the signs that things might finally calm down in my neck of the woods, but I've gotten a little bit of motivation to begin formulating the next two posts. Update should be incoming within the next couple of days.

So this isn't meant to compete with this game at all. In fact, I'd like it to be a bit of change of pace to this game, with it focusing more on horror, sci fi, and smaller scale stories than world-saving superheroics. I figure it could give people burnt out here an outlet for some different style stories to recharge their batteries for this game.

If you don't think you can write two games at once, I'd prefer you guys stick with the Marvel/DC game rather than mine. but if you think you can carry two games with a character in each, I'd love to have you.

There isn't really a point to doing the Weekly Post Check, now, with people deciding all around to either step away or outright drop, so I'm gonna try and address the issue at hand. Since the topic was broached and a good number of the game's roster weighed in, perhaps it'd be best to put it to a vote:

Hiatus until the holiday season passes. Yay or nay?

Let's just get everyone's thoughts in and let the majority rule.

Despite not currently playing, I'm personally mixed. At this point, the game's survival might be in jeopardy with either course taken, so I'm not entirely convinced that a hiatus could hurt. But I'm also of the school of thought that when guys like @Morden Man speak from experience, there's something to it and their input should be taken more seriously. So if you guys want to weather the storm and see if the game can continue at it's current trajectory, I'm fine with that.

I should also probably say that in light of Byrd dropping out a few weeks back and my struggles to keep up with the game even since before dropping out as Batman, I'm publically extending an invitation to @HenryJonesJr to become a member of the GM staff no matter how the vote goes.

Most of you probably don't know this, but the Ultimate One Universe concept actually originated with him on the Hype, so I wanted him in from the ground floor. The only reason he wasn't was because, at the time of launch, I couldn't get ahold of him and we'd already settled on the three man team of Morden, Byrd, and myself by the time he got back to me. So the idea was already out there, it just didn't seem nessescary at the time.

Henry's proven himself to be a more than capable GM and, despite the launch of his own game, could probably handle RP related business for UOU just as well as Morden has. I've unfortunately just not been as reliable as I'd hoped to be and I can't allow Morden to be burdened with essentially running the game himself due to my continued absence.

I'm in that "oh no, I've taken too long to post and now if I don't put out a masterpiece I'm going to feel like I'm just half-assing it and letting everyone down" funk, so I'm gonna vote Yay on the holiday hiatus, if only to give myself some proverbial breathing room to come back at it with less pressure.

I think it's probably the way to go.

Gives me a chance to bank a few and actually get ahead. Work has done some screwy things as well, which will take up more of my time and I know I'm working 12 hours on Christmas day as well.

Hmm. I’m... contemplating. Because this world seems to be missing a Green Lantern...

Though I did originally throw my hat in with the Pro-Hiatus crew... I can't say that Morden and Henry haven't changed my mind at least a bit. That said, a good number of us are interested in hiatus and UOU isn't necessarily the same without a fuller party.

A potential third option is to have a quasi-hiatus, essentially having this be the "off" season. Things would go slower, maybe even a laxer post check schedule, but also no significant MMEs? That'd let those of us burdened with finals/Writer's Block/whatever a chance to get our mojo back, but also let people like Henry, Morden, and etc. keep pumping out great work like they have been to set up for S3, which would be a full season again? Just an idea.

But if it is a binary choice, I think I'm going to abstain from voting. I'm very much on the fence, at this point.

Errr...I mean thanks. Yes. That’s what I meant to say. I hate that it had to happen due to the loss of Byrd, but I’m more than happy to help keep this game going, especially until you get off your lazy ass and start contributing again.

As for the hiatus idea, I’d personally be fine with suspending the two week posting quota until after the holidays...but if people want to post I don’t want to put a mandatory stop on doing so. Mostly because I want to post. That allows people to recharge the batteries if they want and come back swinging in the new year, but they don’t have to worry about losing their characters
