There is no way I can take that standout bonus in good conscience after spending that entire fight doing nothing but find new and creative ways to almost die.

I suppose you don't have to, but keep in mind that completed actions in combat aren't the only reason why someone would receive a standout bonus.

The Courier also never introduced himself to anybody.

When I have time, I'm going to edit out the fact that Din know's Roadhog's name, so please also edit your posts to reflect that. I don't want this narrative inconsistency blowing out of proportion.

To keep things from being too convenient, I'm going to say that heroes and junk falling in the moat scared away most of the aquatic life, and the Lakelurks and Toads remained near the bottom. Two blooper spirits, three bombfish spirits, and a biri spirit were all that came up.

fair enough. also I think i might save the pocket souls for bowser jr if we find him soon ish seeing as the only game he is controllable in is a simple strategy game, so him being a mook leader works pretty well. better to have him level up, get them and then combo the two turtles' powers than try and get all the minion team-ups in one/the remaining Bowser levels.

Post incoming tomorrow. It isn't necessary to post before then, but if you want to address the current situation before anything else happens, the near future is the time!

Yep! Whenever a Results hider appears, that signals the definitive end of an encounter.

I've got that upgrade, I can't really decide because I've got a lot of ideas and I want to run them past you guys and especially the gm first.

1. Musou Attack

I forget what they call them in Hyrule warriors, but it's the Big Attack. Does a lot of damage, hits every enemy around you, charges up as you attack enemies and take damage.

Pros:
-big damage attack I'm missing
-massive AOE
-simple

Cons:
-big windup where I pose before it comes out
-not spamable
-simple

2. Bow
Get the bow from Hyrule Warriors

Pros:

-An accurate, piercing, long range attack.
-can be used to open up weak points by sniping vulnerable places, so combos well with Weak Point Smash

Cons:

-It's a bow. See last two battles.
-party already has good long range damage

3. Battlefield Intuition

Not sure if this is a strength or a power. Gives Linkle the ability to sense certain things about the current battle. How many enemies she's killed, milestones that the other party members reach, whether certain bases have been captured or fallen, and the general moral of all forces involved. In addition she can now hear party members relaying information and enemy taunts toward them no matter where she is on then field, so if someone is struggling and calling for help or gloating about how they're about to win she'd know.

Pros:

-Provides a lot of information about the current battle

Cons:

-Only really useful in large battles. Like, battle sized battles.

-Information has to flow through and be interpreted by Linkle.

-On a meta level, makes it harder on the GM.

4. Rescue

Once per person per battle if Linkle can get within a certain radius of someone in critical condition that person is instantly restored to full health.

Pros:

-a source of emergency healing.
-Full heal

Cons:

-only works during a battle
-Linkle has to run over to someone to do it
-Steps on Blazermate toes
-busted
-seriously, broke AF

5. Something from Rabbit Luigi

Since I'm fishing for that spirit, I'll thrown down this option to.

Pro:

-could be something really good

Con:

-I have never played Mario X-com.

In addition, to anyone that has played that game, do you think it would it be better to take the spirit as a power or a strength?

@Gentlemanvaultboy the Musou attack might be the best out of that bunch, but that doesn't preclude you from doing something with the Rabbid spirit, which would be separate from level-ups unless you wanted to use the level-up to increase whatever you get from it further, which is possible since Rabbid Luigi has a bunch of weapons and abilities. If you were to take Rabbid Luigi as a Strength, you'd get more battle prowess and a few skills, but you wouldn't get any of his distinctive abilities.

I think I'll take the Ribbid as a Strength if I find it. It has three powers that are cool, but if I want I can take those later via level up because I know what they are. Strength, meanwhile, is like a surprise grab bag of skills and has the chance of inflicting a mental derangement. Win/win.

Submitted for gm approval:

New Power - Musou Attack

A powerful area of effect attack. Charge the Musou Attack by both dealing and taking damage from enemies. The more powerful the damage given and taken the more the Musou Meter charges. At level 8 unlock a second meter. At level 16 unlock a third.

Now I have an upgrade point in the wings, would you rather I spend it on the teleporter or Dispenser? Teleporter enables 'fast travel' back to Peach's Castle whenever and lets us make it a hub, Dispenser will enable item generation for those who use items like Roadhog/Courier/Michael/Linkle/ext...

*Panickly shoves Mario to Kirby/Master*

REVIVE THIS MAN NOW AND PLEASE THANK YOU

Edit: Btw I'll wait for more people to post (like Draco) first before I post my portion.

Also I imagine Kirby is still where exactly?

Teleporter. As useful as the dispencer would be right now I think if we plan to take the castle, which is an idea I love, we should have the teleporter up first so we don't have to come back to set it up.

Kirby is with the group at the moment.

Also, I should take this chance to remind everyone (but especially @DracoLunaris) how Strikers work. Bonding with a spirit to make it a Striker creates a relationship where its spirit is linked to your main character's for sustenance. Strikers have a set amount of effort they can expend, whether attacking, healing, or whatever, before they have to de-manifest. Just being manifested slowly drains this energy, but actingtakes more. In combat they're meant to act like assists in team-based fighting games, popping in for a moment for an attack, support action, or string of attacks before vanishing again to recuperate. If you're not familiar with assists, thinking of them as temporary summons might help. In a noncombat situation they can manifest for longer, but regardless they can't be around all the time. In exchange, they can't take permanent damage, instead simply de-manifesting if hurt too much.

Yeah that was my thought too. Dispenser is at next level up anyway.

With her respiratory system! Her lungs aren't very large, but they're there, with the oxygen they process keeping that engine of hers in top shape. Air could easily move through a vent behind that facemask.
