"Bah, trust ain't comin' from'ere, neither!" Korvash returned, a frown creasing its way across the brute's face. Inori contrasted this with a somewhat amused expression. Watching two 'lesser' beings interact was always an entertaining endeavor. As if a theatrical display by the less fortunate, those born beneath a lesser shroud. One could not blame Inori for this approach, as every demon shared his view. In fact, Inori could very well be considered tame, in this regard. He actually interacted with these entities and presented himself as an equal in regards to social interaction. He was not upfront about the most common trope among demons. Arrogance.

"That's quite enough, Korvash," Inori pitched in, his small claws gently tapping the spear, where he sat, each motion leaving a lingering clang. Indeed, though ghostly in appearance, Inori's manifestations appeared very much real. Such was the nature of an Ethereal Weaver, as he would describe himself. Of course, if there was a more official title to offer this conjurer of ghostly spectacles, he was more than willing to hear it. "Even orcs ought to welcome a guest, vacant of hostility." Turning his crimson gaze towards Korvash, Inori's unnaturally large eyes, glimmering with the very hellfire which burned within his kind, there was a split second of intimidation which overshadowed the creature's every other feature. "It is unsightly," Inori stated, his voice calm, cold, and calculated. Onlookers would perhaps draw the conclusion that a tiny creature had just managed to stare down an orc, and such an outrageous claim found itself more truthful than expected. Korvash clenched his teeth, and looked away, avoiding the abyssal pits of what could only be eternal torment, within the demonic boy's visage.

This did not last, however, as the magical entity turned to Cadence with his usual, soft smile. What had transpired between Inori and Korvash appeared lost in the wind, as if the creature discarded it moments later. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Cade of a Thunderstorm," the demon's smile gave way for an even more usual expression. His playful grin. "Quite the lofty title, if I am to present a personal view, on the matter." With a claw moving to gently tap the demon's chin, Inori leaned back on his spear, enjoying the comfort of where he sat. It was not a common sight, by any measure, seeing someone pleasantly relaxing atop a floating weapon, but in a world so seriously strange, nothing could be taken for granted. This, naturally, brought Inori's thoughts back to the surge of magical energy he had felt, before. However, this man, Cadence, could not possibly have been the cause. The mere notion was laughable. What Inori had felt was beyond the demon, and by proxy, far beyond any other creature with the exception of an incredibly powerful fairy, or elf mage, neither of which appeared plausible. Was it the Lich? Unlikely. It did not feel like chilling, all-consuming darkness.

Eventually discarding these thoughts, the demon narrowed his eyes as the view of this feline creature lingered. "I am Inori, a simple wanderer." Though not a complete lie, Inori was not going to delve deeper. A wanderer and monster hunter, was exactly what his life had devolved to, and his past was irrelevant for social circumstances. "This is Korvash," the demon offered a soft wave to his side, presenting the orc who huffed, in response.

Throughout their conversation, silence had once more swept over the forest. which elevated the snapping of a twig. Inori shifted his gaze towards the sound, the demonic boy's claws gently wrapping themselves around the spear he was sitting on. Another guest? He was growing popular.

Xenelith

Time: Midnight
Location: Near the River Kingdom
Interaction with: Jean-Luc@Jamesyco, Risa@princess, Dionaea@MissCapnCrunch

The howling continued. Ferra, smelling the faint scent of blood in the air, bared her fangs. Ready to pounce and devour her prey now. She was getting hungry. Then, as the howling was crawling to its crescendo while the wolves got closer it suddenly stopped. Those foolish enough would take that as a sign that everything was safe. This was not the case. It was simply the training of Xenelith that forced them to fight their instincts now. They were supposed to stop howling the moment they laid eyes on their prey. The two wolves around Ferra herself had vanished into the woodland’s shadow as well. Ferra herself stopped just before the border between the grassy patch and the woods. Her black fur blended in perfectly in the dark shadows.

Xenelith looked through the bush and observed the fairies. When he was young he would have jumped out of the hedge in an instant. He had lost his fair share of prey despite having Ferra and his wolves. This way he could always go through the nearby cities and towns to find the rebels. They looked young. Exceptionally young. That was the way with youth though. To meddle in foolish things they had no idea about. Believing they were wronged when they were denied something. When he saw them, he could feel nothing but disgust at the ease of their lives. “You see them, Ferra?” He whispered to his panther. “Young and comfortable. They never had to fight for their food or suffer through a real winter. To them, this is but a game. An adventure to pass the time. Are you ready friend?” Below him, Ferra snarled. With a single tap of his hand, she jumped through the bushes.

Black energy was already converging in Xenelith’s hand as Ferra landed two meters away from the fairies and the armored human. The panther let out a wet growl towards the two. The Dark Elf could clearly see one of them trying to heal him. Anger flashed in his eyes and yelled with true malice: “Idiots!” Icy-blue eyes formed came into view from the shadows of the trees. The wolves had them surrounded. All of them now released a low rumbling growl. Announcing their arrival. “You don’t know what you’ve done! Stand aside now! I will deal with you later!” He then turned to the fallen man. “Human. By the power vested in me by the king, I sentence you to death.” He said as he flung a bolt of pure black energy at the armored knight.

Cade wasn’t sure what the small wanderer, who called himself Inori, meant when he called his title lofty. His parents had given him and his brother traditional catfolk names, it would be rather ridiculous to see a cat with an elf or orc like name after all. “Well a cat requires a dignified name, something to ensure he will carry his tail high and make his ancestors proud.” Names were important to his kind; having a name worth remembering was a starting step towards being worthy of remembrance. The orc’s name, Korvash, sounded like most orc names, a noise easily grunted out by other savage brutes, lacking in flair. Inori however, clearly had flair; glowing a bright blue and perched against a floating spear. Although Cade’s general opinion of magic was that it was tricks used by those unskilled enough for true battle, magic was also, sometimes, fun to look at.

Since Inori clearly had the use of magic and was not shy about it, Cade decided to ask him about earth tremors felt that night. But before he had chance to speak again a branch creaked from above, its leaves rustled and he caught wind of the strange scent. Excitement rushed through him causing his tail to flick back and forth as the scanned the trees above. He had found the new thing, and although he wanted to scurry up a tree and investigate further, he did not want to turn his back on an orc, or on Inori friend of the orc. He could see some movement up above but the foliage was thick enough to obstruct his view of the being he had not smelled before. “Greetings, fellow traveler, we mean no harm.” Cade called up to the trees. He hoped he had not lied but so far Inori and Korvash seemed to be friendly enough.

"I love you too Risa." Dionaea cooed. She knew the death of the elves would haunt both of them for the rest of the night and for nights to come but she also knew that if took this time to mourn the loss of a life it could mean at the cost of their own. The tension was heavy, and Dia could practically hear Hades' teeth grit against each other. He was nervous too, and in turn that made things a lot bigger than they were. This was not their normal humor and hi-jinks.

Risa's gasp startled Dionaea in response releasing a gasp from her own lips. "Risa!" she exclaimed, with a slight tone of punishment. She didn't mean anything by it, but her nerves were on their last strand after what had just happened. It was then the human came into view. His body was made of metal, which Dia immediately felt sorry for the creature. He probably never felt grass between his toes, let alone the joy of the wind swirling around your frame. It was clear to them that he was hurt, his wounds apparent and his face scrunched. Risa took no time to reach down to the man, and Dia followed quickly behind her. She was not skilled in healing as Risa was but she knew how to follow direction.

"Careful Risa..." she mentioned as the process began. Dia brought herself to her knees next to Risa. Her hands in her lap, but her eyes traveling along the entirety of the man. She knew that her friend was more than capable of healing this being, but they didn't know anything about his intentions let alone his name! Did humans even have names? They looked like one of them if you were to mask some of the obvious features and scents.

"I didn't exactly bring an extra dress." Dia laughed hesitantly, she knew this wasn't a time to joke but couldn't help her nature. "I think we can manage his smell with some stink bugs." she stated, thinking of a particular insect that would hide the natural smells of the human- but would also make him not pleasant to be around. "Perhaps a flora instead.." she pondered, as she looked around them in field as well as in her small satchel she often had around her waist.

The guttural scream from the human caused Dia's eyes to widen in fear and shock. She about tore Risa away from him instantly, but knew that the sound was one of pain rather than anger. "He's really hurt." Dionaea commented quietly to Risa. His voice was meek but clear enough for the two of them to hear, though what he was saying might as well have been in another dialect. "I think we got a broken one Risa.."

Dia giggled a little as she picked out some white flowers from her satchel. Jasmine was a very potent strong smelling flower, and would most likely be a good start to hide the smell from others. She began to mash them into a paste between her fingers when a grotesque yell could be heard, a Dark Elf stood near as he gave them his warning. The wolves and the panther all looking on them with distaste. She could hear the voices between them with nothing but anger filling their souls.

The bolt of black energy flew from the elf's reach as Dia grabbed Risa back from the blast. She knew Risa would be weak from trying the heal the human and used her own strength to pull her backwards. "Are you okay?"[/color] she questioned, to Risa wondering where Hades had traveled off too. He would have alerted them surely.

Little by little, the strangers were revealing information, unfortunately for Ayita, they seemed to have already noticed her presence. While they surely had different reactions upon acknowledging her presence, judging by the information Ayita had already gathered about them, they did seem to be indeed simply wanderers... at least she hoped. According to what she heard, the little blue one with sharp teeth was called Inori, the green giant, Korvash and the catman was Cadence of a Thunderstorm, the first one to present himself. While she had her doubts about how the giant Korvash would react, it seemed that Inori somehow was something akin to a 'master' to Korvash, seeing how he intimidated and stared down the giant despite the absurd difference in size... Which only made the small Inori even more suspicious on Ayita's eyes. Ayita herself didn't know exactly why, but she found easier to trust Cadence than the other two. Maybe it was the fact that his name remembered her of some of the names that other natives had back on her home, or maybe it was because he was part animal... Nonetheless, despite her not trusting Inori at all, assuming he would honor his own words, he would welcome a guest without any type of hostility.

After a moment of silence and after considering the risks and options Ayita had, she jumped down of the branch she was in with an delicate and agile movement, making almost no noise as she touched the ground. Maintaining a low posture and a safe distance, she slowly walked to a position where she had clear view of both Inori and Korvash. Not only it was useless to remain on top of the tree since the strangers already knew her location, but remaining there would also be worse for her if she had to run away from them. It was clear to them whom she really didn't trust though, mostly due to her stare. Seeing how Korvash had reacted to the cat man before was already something, but the fact that Inori had his claws wrapped around his spear didn't help. Since she was unarmed, she couldn't really make any mistake and had to take the most intelligent options in that type of situation.

"Ayita Ani’-Wa’Ya." she said, introducing herself to the group without taking her eyes off Korvash and Inori.

Having revealed and introduced herself, she was now carefully analyzing Inori, Korvash and even Cadence's reactions. Not only they were apparently from completely different races than she was, but even her clothes seemed to be relatively out of place. How they would react to her, their expression and words would play a large role defining how Ayita would approach them.

Corvina

Time: Midnight
Location: Forest of the peninsula of the Sun Elf Village
Interaction: @Inertia @Tae

Midnight was one of Corvina's favorite times of day: the chirping of crickets, the gentle breeze at night and the luminescent moonlight shining through the street. It brought her comfort in the long nights she would be stuck awake and unable to fall back asleep. Instead of despising the night, she had grown to embrace it. Most of the world was asleep now or starting to be, therefore she usually went out and would go for walks. People warned her most of the time not to, then once learned it was falling on deaf ears, had stopped. She wasn't afraid of the night or what it held. To her, the world was her oyster and she would live it how she pleased.

While strolling down the street, Corvina noticed a dark haired man glance backwards at her. She shrugged it off. Her sweatshirt, black leggings along with her tan boots, looked out of the ordinary and she didn't mind. In her pockets though, she carried mace, her phone and had a switchblade as well. She was unafraid of the night but had run into a few drunkards who had thought she was easy prey and had soon come to learn that she was not. As the breeze picked up and blew her hair into her face, she scowled and quickly tied it up. She glanced up a t the sky with a frown. Well-versed with meteorology and science, Cora had come to love and pay attention to the weather. She knew it was out of the ordinary.

Corvina began to glance around as the air thinned, then began to vibrate around them. She rubbed her eyes and bit her lip, baffled. What was happening? She saw the dark haired man confused too. At least I'm not the only one seeing this. I am not going crazy. Unexpectedly, as out of a movie, a rift randomly appeared. Cora gawked at it and began to peddle backwards. She had read about folklore and enough fiction to know a rift was never a good sign. She watched as vacuum and debris were being sucked up as if it were a black hole trying to swallow Earth whole. The man yelled at her to watch out but to no use; they were both sucked up. Cora let out a shrill yelp of fear and anxiety as she was pulled into it, along with the man.

As quickly as the rift had opened and sucked her in, it spat her out. She let out a cry of pain as her head smacked onto the ground and caused stars to dance across her vision. She wasn't positive, but she thought she had felt debris clunk her in the head as well. The blur of foliage in front of her was unlike anything Cora had seen or studied. She tried to move, to call for help. Certainly that man was nearby her, right? Or was he sucked up elsewhere? She moaned and tried to sit up but a heaviness in her head prevented her. She growled and grit her teeth as she forced herself onto her hands and feet. She was not going to just lay God knew where and be left for dead. She glanced around as the world spun around her and caused her stomach to churn. She didn't see the street lamps, houses, or even the pavement. No, she was in some Godforsaken forest.

She heaved for a moment, then crawled over a few feet and stopped. Cora growled, irritated by the change of events, though uncertain if she was dreaming. She thought she saw an animal up ahead, but wasn't able to confirm it as everything went black.

- - - - - - - -- - - - - - -

When Cora's eyes opened, she found the man kneeling beside her and a woman. The man looked human but the woman beside him had extremely pointed ears. Before she could process it, bile churned in her stomach and burned her throat. She rolled onto her side away from the two and spat it out, then coughed. Shit, that was so gross... Cora dabbed at her out with some tissues from her pocket and set them back. If anything, it made her more nauseous. She looked to the side and vaguely saw the distinct silhouettes of her switchblade and mace. Cora reached for them both with numb fingers and looked up at the women as Cora registered her voice and speech.

A cold sweat engulfed her and she found the hairs on the back of her neck raising. Their kind? What did she mean? Cora's mind raced with more questions than her finals caused her. "What the heck are you talking about? She glanced around at the man, whom now she realized had been inquiring if she was all right. "I'm fine," she muttered pushing herself up onto her elbows and tried to sit up but her vision swayed and she leaned back down. She gritted her teeth and rubbed her eyes with her shoulder. She hated being a damsel in distress. Not only that, but she did not want to show weakness when the situation was so out of context for her. This was something out of her fiction novels. She loved them but she had not wanted to live in them in the literal sense.

"Really, I'm peachy." She paused, then added with concern, "Are you okay? I don't think we are in Kansas anymore." Cora kept the women in her line of vision, and one hand on her mace and the other on her switchblade. She wasn't sure who this man was, but he was comforting in the sense that he, like her, was baffled. That, and also he was human too. This woman was clearly not. Cora tried to calm her breathing but her body was trembling.

It took her a few moments to realize the debris in her hair had also pierced a small fragment of her skull and caused blood to cascade down her back. Cora touched the back of her hand and paled more. "On my favorite supreme sweatshirt, oh no." Cora moaned to herself.

So far, the exchange had been civil. Korvash appeared to have settled somewhat, at Inori's behest. The demonic boy had no control over the beast following him, through any magical means. However, his presence did demand some level of authority, which Korvash either feared, or respected. It was clearly one or the other. Perhaps both. Though the adorable sight of a small, four-foot demon sitting on a floating blue spear could have been considered endearing, if odd, Inori had his moments where the demon within truly shone through. Despite this, he appeared to put a notable emphasis on behavior. His regal standing, the way he chewed his food and demanded manners from the orc would all hint towards something beyond what he claimed to be. Something notably other than a wanderer, as Inori had presented himself. He could attempt to hide his past, and he could most certainly attempt to escape it, but Inori's every action was draped by an aura of aristocracy, whether he attempted the display or not.

The demonic boy's crimson gaze maintained a fixed glare at their new guest. Once again, his calm demeanor took center stage, and with one leg over the other where he sat, Inori offered a dainty wave. However, it was soon revealed that this new guest, this new arrival, was quite peculiar. Her appearance, her standing, and her very presence screamed with a most unnatural tune. Enough so for Inori's crimson eyes to widen in what appeared to have been shocked anticipation, which was soon replaced by an excited grin. "Of course..," Inori stated, a small chuckle escaping his maw. "That's what it was..," he continued. The spear beneath him vanished in a wind of azure sand, landing the demon on his feet where he turned towards their new guest, eyeing her as if a spectacle. "He ended your kind." Inori stated, almost a whisper, as another step brought him closer to the woman presenting herself as Ayita. "The magical surge, the shift in atmosphere. The.., unnatural presence lingering like a blanket crossing the night sky," Inori pointed a clawed finger forth, the appendage glimmering beneath glaring moonlight. "You are a human." Inori stated, followed by a string of laughter. He knew what this meant. "Another attempt has been made, then," the demon smirked, "Ayita Ani’-Wa’Ya. Welcome to Avalia. I do hope.., you enjoy your stay." Inori finished, with a wide smirk. The stage had been set. Someone had brought humans back into Avalia. The last time they had made themselves known upon this very soil, was long before Inori's birth. The Lich had killed them all, and now, they were back. Someone was undoubtedly preparing to fight back, surely. Inori could still recall serving that beast of an undead, and the thought sent chills down Inori's spine. This all left a question which continued to simmer within his mind. Was he going to join this upcoming battle?

Cade studied the creature that jumped down from the trees, briefly he mistook her for an elf, as she looked most like one with the exception of rounded ears. He had never known of an elf to not have their large pointed ears and she certainly did not smell like an elf. The feathers in her hair caused him to briefly consider the possibility of an avian demihuman but she lacked wings or feathers elsewhere so he decided those most be decorative. She was clearly not fairy and demon seemed unlikely as well and Cade wasn’t exactly sure what the strange creature could be, until Inori spoke. He ended your kind, the demon's words triggered a realization for him. Stories his brother, Shadow, had told him when they would hunt, of a race so powerful that even Aklenroth feared him. For a brief second Cade was afraid, any creature that could evoke fear in the Lich King himself was surly dangerous. But Shadow’s stories of the humans were not frightening, but rather hopeful, of creatures who had centuries ago defied the lich. Was this human here to help them? He listened to Inori and gathered from the demon that someone had brought humans to their world. Everything started to make sense; the strange earth tremors, the powerful magic, and the usual scent and feeling in the air. This was a creature ripped away from another world, an experience he could only imagine was beyond frightening and disjointing.

Inori’s reaction to the human was not one Cade would expect of a creature totally loyal to Aklenroth and the orc seemed to be somewhat confused as it stayed silent. Avalia was a dangerous place for a human, the lich slaughtered them all once before and would likely do the same again. He decided he must help protect the human, whatever her quest here may be, as her very presence in their world was a defiance against Aklenroth. This is what Shadow would have done, and so, it was what he would now do. He bowed to the being who introduced herself as Ayita Ani’-Wa’Ya. “Pleasure to meet you, Ayita Ani’Wa’Ya. I am Cadence of a Thunderstorm. Most simply call me Cade, and you are indeed in Avalia but this is a dangerous place. There are many here who would not welcome your arrival.” He said choosing his words, wanting to warn her but not wanting to go straight to talking about an evil Lich King and his undead minions. “I am a well versed traveler, and I can offer some protection to help you.” He offered, although he wasn’t sure how much help he’d be if Aklenroth sent the entirety of his forces to find the human.

Ambience: The part where he stopped

At last the edge of the forest was coming into view. It meant Ilan had only a small amount of ground left to cover. In his arms he carried what seemed to be a bundle of cloth. Soft cries mixed with the chirping of the early morning birds and the sighs of trees. The young faun had been woken up in the middle of the night by the rumbling earth, some sort of strange happenstance caused an earthquake. It had disturbed a nest of deer, of which he was now carrying a single fawn. For the life of him he could not find the parents or the other babies. He adjusted the weight of the animal in his arms, it was getting quite heavy after a while. The fawn protested, his cries intensifying. Ilan patted his head gently, the animal closed his eyes contently.

"Don't worry, we'll find your parents somewhere"

It wasn't likely to survive on its own. Ilan tried to come up with some sort of a plan, as the forest would soon change into plains and meadows. His otherwise carefree expression turned into a worried frown. He searched the trees for any sign of his kindred species. To his left, a little deeper into the forest he noticed a creek. It gave him an idea. He expertly darted through the foliage and bushes until he reached the shallow creek. The clear water ran through the forest like a small river.
I can't believe I didn't notice it before.
Granted he had been woken up in the middle of the night and found the fawn shortly after. He hadn't slept since then. His eyes felt heavy and his body sluggish. He walked up to the edge of the creek and flopped down onto the forest floor with a sigh.

"Pheww....."

He supressed a yawn and placed the bundle beside him on a bed of leaves with the greatest care. Ilan had tried to make the deer stand but to no avail, he suspected it had sprained one or multiple legs due to the earthquake. He produced a water skin from his messenger bag. It would be dangerous to have the deer sip from the water by itself, Ilan was afraid he would fall into the creek. No need to traumatize it any more. He filled it up to the brim and stored it inside his bag, taking out a second smaller one to give to the deer. Once it was full of clear and fresh water he held it to the animals mouth carefully, lilting it slightly so the water dripped out slowly. The fawn seemed to enjoy it as it cried everytime Ilan tried to take away the water skin.

He cupped his face in his hands, his elbows leaning on his knees. Jade eyes stared into the seemingly endless depths of the forest. Suddenly and with a start he picked up on the crushing of leaves and the breaking of thin branches on the forest floor. Of course the deer were drawn to the source of water! It didn't sound like they were too far away, but they were likely too afraid to approach. Ilan unwrapped the young fawn. It looked up at him with large brown eyes, crying softly. He bent down to kiss its head softly. A smile lit up his face.

"Your parents are coming!"

Of course Ilan wasn't sure it was a deer he heard and he knew perfectly well that leaving the deer behind would be the same as dropping him into the creek. That's why he hid between the shrubbery, to watch what would be coming. He readied his slingshot and took his lyre from his back. If it was something else he might need to "calm" it with his music. The fawn realized it was alone now and the cries intensified. It tugged at Ilan's heartstrings, but it was the only way for it be found. He leaned back against the base of the schrub and felt his eyes getting heavy again. Hopefully he wouldn't fall asl......

Fortunately for Ayita, Korvash, the green giant simply stood still, silent as Inori evaluated the situation. Whoever he was, he seemed to hold some control over the giant green man. His reaction as he saw Ayita though was interesting to say the least. Judging by how shocked he was made clear for Ayita that Humans weren't exactly common there. Not only that, but many questions that Ayita had were unknowingly answered by the small Inori. Apparently, from what she understood from his words, it wasn't the first time humans came to that world, called Avalia, through the same rift that dragged Ayita. Others had came before but someone, referred by Inori just as 'He' killed all of them. Many questions were answered, but even more rose after she heard Inori's words. Whoever was this 'he' that Inori said, seemed to be incredibly powerful and held considerable influence over Avalia. Nonetheless, Inori seemed to be... neutral for now? She didn't consider him an ally, as his words and expressions were far too mysterious for her to know his true thoughts. He seemed like the type of person who had many secrets to hide.

Cadence of a Thunderstorm, or simply Cade as he said, did have a much different reaction to Ayita though. The way he moved his tail excitedly a while earlier, just like a cat would do, his words and his expression made him at least appear much more friendly, trustworthy and honest than Inori. Mentioning once more that this place, Avalia was indeed dangerous to humans, he confirmed what Inori had said before.

"It is dangerous because of this person Inori mentioned, yes?" Ayita asked, looking to both of them with a curious expression. Her cautious posture was mostly gone as she seemed to be a little more at ease knowing that neither of them wanted to harm her.

"Any particular reason for this person to hunt Humans?" Ayita asked. She knew now that there were people hunting her, but she also wanted to know why they were hunting her and what she could do to avoid said people.

"I would accept your help but... I do not have anything with me to repay you though..." Ayita said, looking towards Cade.

Now that the situation was much more tranquil for Ayita than it was before, she couldn't help but to be curious regarding the strangers in front of her. While she had her fair share of questions regarding exactly what Inori and Korvash were, she didn't trust them as much as she did Cade though. Ayita couldn't hide her curiosity regarding Cade, especially his ears and tail.

Confusion. That was the perfect word to describe Darius' initial reaction to waking up in his bed… in the middle of a forest. His first thought was that this was either a dream or a prank. It felt too real to be a dream. The cool breeze between the trees and the earthy smell of the forest were too vivid. And unless someone could move his bed with him in it, out of an apartment building and into the woods on the outskirts of the city while keeping him asleep then this was certainly not a prank. What was it then?

"What the hell… What the hell is going on?" Darius sat himself up and looked around at his surroundings. It didn't matter how hard he thought or how much he looked at, Darius couldn't figure out what this situation was. What did it mean?

The last thing he remembered was finishing a four-mile run. It was more to help him clear his mind than for exercise. He didn't mean to run it at a faster than normal pace, but his brother lingered in his thoughts. Darius was so exhausted afterward, he didn't even bother showering or changing for that matter, he collapsed on he just bed. He noticed his shoes that he had kicked off beside his bed were right where he left them, just this time set down in the grass instead of the tiled floors of his apartment. The natural sounds of the forest filled the air. The chirping of birds, the buzzing of insects, and the rusting of trees… even after the wind died down?

"Anyone here?" The man quickly slipped his sneakers on, not to match his dry-fit shirt and gym shorts as his running outfit, but to make sure he could haul ass if he needed to. One would think Darius was a precog with what came next.

The trees behind Darius rustled in the darkness, causing him to jump forward and off of his bed before turning around to see that a large figure was attempting to navigate through the trees whilst making a sharp sniffing sound. Darius could not discern whether it was fear or confusion that took hold of him, but he did know that he froze where he currently stood. A low grunt from the unknown creature was followed by a long inhale. Then another grunt.

Darius was finally able to get himself to start stepping backward, but he was also trying to remain quiet. If Darius learned anything in the last few minutes about his situation, it was that whatever monstrosity was on the other side of those trees was searching for him. Beads of sweat formed on his face and his breathing became heavier as he grew more fearful.

Run… Run…

A large pale hand broke through the trees and into view. Darius' eyes became wider than he ever thought they could go before.

FUCKING RUN!

The sudden fright possessed Darius to break into a full sprint in the opposite direction of the large creature. With the sheer size of its hand, it could crush his head in its palm like a tomato. That's all the guy needed to know. Darius ran through bushes and branches until he heard a loud crash. The bed. Whatever it was searching for him had destroyed the bed Darius had spent a fine amount on it, but the price of the bed did not matter in the face of terror. Then the sound of the creature rapidly breaking through the forest was heard by Darius.

He didn't know where he was going, but Darius would run to the ends of the earth just so he would never truly know what was now actively chasing him. The sounds of trees toppling over, the pounding footsteps, and low grunts are all the motivation Darius needed. This was either a nightmare or Darius is really about to get murdered by a literal monster. He had never run with this kind of fear in his heart and the adrenaline rush was proof of that.

Darius gasped as he broke through the treeline and into an open plain. He felt relief as he could now run unimpeded. It was a small one, but it was Darius' first victory in this strange world. Though he was still confused, Darius could not help but smile.

A roar sounded from behind as the creature broke through the treeline and also took advantage of now being unimpeded in the open space it entered. Additionally, it could now see what it had been stalking. Its stride would close the gap. That was a fact.

Darius couldn't help but turn around and look at the massive pale humanoid-shaped creature in the moonlight. He didn't know it yet, but it was a cave troll. Its crooked jagged toothed mouth had thick saliva spilling from it and all the creature wore was a large cloth that covered the bits between its legs. Faced with death, Darius let his words fly freely.

"Fuuuuuuck! Please, someone, help me! I don't wanna die! I don't wanna die! Please, I can't go out like thi-" Darius' eyes widened as wide as they had when he had seen the troll's hand. Another humanoid being was far ahead of him and was running in his direction. "What the hell is going on!?" Darius could feel tears ready to leave his eyes. The figure ahead of Darius appeared to throw something. The sound of the object cutting through the air and over Darius' head was followed by a gushing sound accompanied by a groan from the cave troll. Droplets of blood spattered on Darius's back, causing him to flinch and change direction by darting left. He turned his head to see a large spear impaled into the chest of the creature that had been chasing him. The troll stood in place as blood trickled down its chest. The troll was now focused on its assailant who was sprinting in its direction. Darius, I didn't even notice that he stopped in his tracks as he watched a huge green-skinned humanoid woman spring into action wielding a pair of battle axes.

Skarsnaga Ghasharzol… she was the orc warrior that aimed to bring down the cave troll before her. Her well-placed spear throw limited its mobility. Now for the kill before the troll could think of pulling the spear from its chest. This pale beast was simple when it came to combat. The troll attempted to punch its opponent with its right fist, but Skar dodged to her left and forcefully jabbed her right battle ax into the troll's hand. The troll roared again as it pulled its hand back with the ax embedded in it. In that window of time that Skar bought herself, she continued moving until she was at the troll's 4 o'clock and spun around to swing her other ax with both hands. Blood sprayed onto Skar as her sharp blade met the right Achilles tendon of the troll. Its roar became a whimper before it fell face first causing the spear to dig through and jut out of its back. The blood-covered orc watched the felled creature breath its last breath.

Darius just stared in awe as he had just watched something that looked like it was out of an action movie.

"Epic…" Darius said quietly as he wiped the water from his teary eyes. Unfortunately, his relief quickly turned to concern as he began to gain a better grasp on the situation. His weary eyes met Skar's cold ones in the silence of the moonlit night. She pulled her axes from her kill with her eyes still locked on Darius who was slowly backing away. After placing both axes on her back she stood up on top of the troll and pulled the spear out of the troll's back. "Yup. Time to get the fuck out of here."

Were it not for the earthquake that was felt across the land, Kuroi would not have found his wakizashi fifteen feet away from him. He stared down at his opponent through the holes in his fox-shaped mask and merely took on an unarmed cat stance. His left foot and hand pointed towards the man he faced while his foot pointed away, causing a right angle to be created between his feet. His right hand rested on his hip, awaiting the oncoming attack. Kuroi's hand rested on the guard of his weapon - a metal fan to be exact. Gods know how suicidal it would be to use a metallic fan against an expert fencer but it was the only thing the martial artist had left. His projectiles spent, his sword out of reach, and his rope darts cut in half; the whole situation seemed hopeless for him. Kuroi's resolve did not waver and neither did the cat stance he had moved into. His left hand was shaped like a finger gun, pointed directly at the man he glared down.

It was the last round of the tournament, Kuroi versus the expert fencer everyone had cheered on since the beginning. Were it twenty or so years earlier, the crowds would be cheering for him! Alas, lineage, no matter how prestigious, began to falter when it came to Roshmi City's combat sports. Still, his bloodline was not without merit, nor without skill. The fencer tightened the grip around his rapier and parry dagger before rushing off towards Kuroi.

Twenty feet.
Fifteen feet.
Ten feet.

The young duelist quickly broke stance and slid his hand into the opening of his gi's trim, reaching for his metal fan. With a flick of the wrist and a quick outwards wipe, the fan unfolded perfectly into his. With exact timing and precision, Kuroi threw his fan at the fencer's offhand. Were it not for his opponent closing distance, the fan would have missed its target.

A cry of pain came from Kuroi's opponent and the advance on him slowed. The parrying dagger dropped to the floor, its hilt coated in its owner's blood. Crimson red enveloped the fencer's left forearm as the fan had created a flawless slice across his vein. Kuroi spun in a counter-clockwise position, simultaneously moving forward towards his opponent and bobbing downwards whilst his left hand reached for the other fan that hung from his waist. Upon finishing his spin, he met the flat of his unfolded fan against the rapier. Metal met metal, and the momentum of the spin caused the rapier to be knocked to the side, giving Kuroi a chance to move into his opponent's guard.

Kuroi spun around once more, folding his left arm and sending a powerful horizontal spinning elbow into his opponent's jawline. With his back pressed up against the fencer's body, his right hand checked the fencer's armed hand, making sure counter-strikes wouldn't be an option. He suddenly jerked his head back and slammed the crown of his head into his opponent's nose, further disorienting the fencer. Kuroi finished his spin and used the flat of the fan to smack the opponent right across the cheek. As the strike went through the opponent, Kuroi quickly flicked his wrist once more and closed the fan. His right hand grabbed onto the back of his opponent's head as he slammed his left elbow into the man's temple.

The fencer's knees suddenly buckled and Kuroi allowed him to drop onto the ground - a successful victory. Kuroi unfolded his fan and shot his hand outwards, letting out a cry of victory.

Now fully re-equipped with all of his belongings, Kuroi took his leave with a pouch full of gold and more prestige added onto his and his family's name. Tonight was indeed a good night, one that may have resulted in a loss, but one that resulted in a grandiose, dramatic victory instead. Celebrations would be held at the nearest tavern he could find, and a-searching for one he did go!

"Oy, Inori! This ain't good!" Korvash spoke, breaking his silence. "She ain't s'posed t'be ere'!" He continued, pointing a long, green finger at the woman. There was truth in what the orc was saying. She was not supposed to be in Avalia, and her presence acted as if a beacon for impending devastation, in either one direction, or the other. "Th'Lich gon'find us, n'kill us, y'hear!?" Korvash exclaimed, a sense of worry washing over him. A worried orc. It was a sight most would likely consider an oddity.

However, a laid back demon was not. Immortal, relaxed, and never chasing the passing of time, demons stood beyond the concept of aging, which left them quite arrogant. Many of these creatures often discarded danger altogether, because they assumed themselves above such trivialities. Though, this unexpected development had managed to pull Inori out of his nonchalant state. He was not invincible. Nothing was, not even a demon. It would be foolish for the young, demonic entity to consider the situation one which he could simply brush away, as he now stood face to face with a human. Her presence was if a call to action. Perhaps killing her where she stood would end a conflict before it began, but the thought in itself was enough to bring a chuckle to Inori's lips. Rather, his lack of lips. Reptilian snouts left little to the imagination. "Calm yourself." Inori stated, his crimson gaze meeting Korvash, before it shifted to this new arrival. To the human. With a pair of dainty arms folding themselves across Inori's chest, the demon took a moment to analyze this woman. She was reminiscent of a forest elf, and carried herself with grace. Indeed, it was as if staring at a painting which depicted mere stories of a past long since gone. Be that as it may, here she was, in the flesh.

"It is dangerous..," Inori began, tapping a slender claw against his chin. There was some entertainment to be found in the coming conflict. Of that, he was sure. The main issue which kept clinging to his mind was a reunion with his father, and sister. That was a scenario he would rather avoid. "Because a creature of bones aspires for total dominion." The demon wiggled his claws slightly, blue energy slithering between their motion, as a display of flamboyance when the boy spoke. "His name is Aklenroth. You might hear of the 'Lich King', the 'Dark Lord', or my personal favorite..," Inori cleared his throat, a hand gently placed against his snout. "Bone Daddy." He finished, causing Korvash to stifle a chuckle.

Inori continued, lowering his hands to a slender waist where they rested. "Reasons are for those with desires. Aklenroth is simply..," the demon explained, taking a moment to find appropriate words, "in love with power." Tapping a small foot against the ground as he considered the situation, Inori eventually spoke, once more. "I would assume he was mortal, once upon a time." The demon's eyes, glowing bright red beneath the moonlight, met the human's in a shared exchange. "I imagine the fist of time quite a daunting prospect. A man who managed to escape it would likely.., maintain that escape, as long as possible."

The orc was soon to offer his own opinion on the matter. "Eh, n'we never said we'd help," Korvash pitched in, grunting. "Kitty'll help, no'uss."

Raising his hand, Inori motioned for the orc to fall silent. It was not a rough, or even unkind action, but rather, one which indicated that the demonic boy had fallen into deep thought. Would they let this woman roam Avalia on her own, with a cat? It seemed somewhat reckless to abandon the one thing which caused Aklenroth's bones to ache. Perhaps there was a story to be written, with Inori upon the pages, after all. "It would be in poor taste to leave a lovely madame such as yourself to her fate, in a foreign world." Inori uttered, extending his hand towards the human, "thought against my better judgment, I will yield to the obligation presented. Aiding a fair maid is simply.., orthodox." The demon finished, revealing a soft smirk, revealing his glimmering teeth.

Kyran watched as the Risa healed the human. He could not believe there was an actual human in Avalia and that Risa was wasting her energy on him. He had no idea what she and Dionaea had gotten themselves into. They had dug themselves into the deepest hole possible and were in so much danger now. He stressfully rubbed his temples, suppressing a sigh. If things were not weird enough, the god-damn human woke up and started referring to her as an angel.

Risa never thought things through and got herself into these crazy situations, trying to heal creatures that were essentially done for. He had always was pulling both her and Dionaea out of trouble. The two of them were bad influences on each other. Dionaea was thankfully at her side. She was visibly growing weaker. He wasn't sure if Risa could handle fully healing the human. The human could turn on them at any second. There was no reason to trust them. He glanced down at the wolf that had bit his pants. It seemed they were sharing the same sentiment.

Howling in the near-distance made him stiffen. He did not have much time to react before a panther had leapt about 2 meters in front of the girls. A dark elf had appeared and sent a blast toward the human. He leapt forward in his fox form, quickly grabbing the human and diving out of the way of the blast with him, finally revealing himself to his two fairy friends. "You girls surely know how to get into the worst situations." Kyran glanced at Risa and Dionaea. "We are going to have a talk after I get you out of this horrible mess."

Aklenroth stood there for a few moments. "Shilo please leave me." He said short and abruptly sending Shilo off. O'Ner came into the room shortly after, asking him if he needed his help. He glanced at him, watching him grasp his staff. "O'Ner, some elves have created rifts which have brought humans in this world. They are a threat to us and must be vanquished as well as the traitors involved in this terrorism. Your help would be very useful to me. You may take some soldiers and go seek humans if you wish." He explained to his comrade, "Before you go, please bring me my daughter."

Meanwhile, the Dracolich had found some of its targets. It roared as it began to descend behind Kenia, Rei and Corvina in all its undead terror. The three would find themselves in pursuit.

The silly human thought she was an angel. She couldn't help but blush, pleased with the compliments he was bestowing her. She began to speak to him, slurring a bit in her words, "Oh don't be silly. It's nothing! As long as you're okay. I'm afraid we can't get you back to Earth right now-"She broke off as a panther jumped into her view.

Risa whirled around as fast as a weakened fairy such as herself could at the presence of the dark elf. She wondered how he had found them so quickly. She frowned at his words, her brows furrowing as she burst out,"Know what we have done?!"Risa was often outspoken."Don't you see this is good for everyone? Even you! Stop following Aklenroth so blindly to save your own skin, coward!"

She let out a cry as Dionaea yanked her away from the incoming blast. Her vision blurred and it almost felt like the earthquake was still ongoing, the world tilting beneath her. The color had drained from her face. She held Dionaea's shoulder to steady herself as her brain seemed to swirl in her skull. A flash of a familiar shade of orange went toward the human. She was dimly aware of Kyran's voice but she was too set on fighting the dark elf to focus in on it. They were in a bad spot here. Risa knew if she kept angrily yelling at him that she would not be taken seriously. She gritted her teeth and tried to let go of Dionaea, stumbling forward, her long hair nearly covering her deadpan countenance. "Don't you dare hurt my friends. Others are on the way and you will be outnumbered. "

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A flash of light and blur and his vision went dark again as a small blast landed where he once was.

His eyes closed and reopened as the ground beneath them all shifted around for a moment, he reached for a sword, but found none, "In gods name, give me a weapon." then he grabbed something as he scrambled to his feet quickly. A thick sword made from compacted stone in his hand, where it had come from, the ground, but he did not know. This is a miracle of god.

In his far hand a thick stone shield, with an indentation of a cross on it.

"Angels, and furry creature which protects this forest." he said as he had no idea there was an anthropomorphic fox behind him. "Stand behind this bastion of god who serves and protects and may I be a wall to protect you!"

"DEUS VULT!" he yelled clashing the stone sword and shield in his hand together as he stared at the Dark Elf in front of him, he was hurt, but he would not let it show in the face of even the devil. "DEUS VULT! In gods name leave this place, and leave this plane of existence test of god. For I shall escape your seven pits of hell Satan!" And then a wall grew in a chevron in front of him tall and large before anything could happen. Did he beat the test of god, or what in the name of god happened.

Elthrael Vol'Kerno

Time : Past Midnight
Location : Near River Kingdom

Elthrael stood silent for a moment on his branch as he surveyed the gathering ahead. His eyes instictively searched for any visible weapons before he took a leap towards another branch to place himself slightly downwind of the gathering. Once in place, the darkwinged fairy inspected the gathering further. Two of them were young female fairies. One bore more traditional attire of an elaborate design the other one clad in more revealing attire. The dark winged fairy began to smile, as he sniffed the air.

He could now properly scent them, their smell were more pleasant for his senses than the creature whose company they seemed to share. There was also a more familiar scent of canines. A wolf? A fox? Elthrael did not linger on that thought or scent, as they were in a place where such animals were quite common. Finally he set his sights on the armored being on the ground. What is that?

Hm? He turned his attention away from the human and to the foilage. Into the scene came a panther and a rider upon it, a dark elf by the looks of it. It's roar drawing the attention of those present. Elthrael had some encounters with their ilk in the past, yet this one carried himself in a more confident manner. The dark elf began to loudly call out to the fairies and the prone creature, as he did the scent and noises of the uncommon beasts became more potent. They had surrounded the trio.

Elthrael placed his right hand at the pommel of his sword, as it rested in it's sheath. The dark elf and his beasts had come to claim the creature the fairies shared company with. A human.

A human? This.. thing is a human? This dark elf has been sent by the undead king to kill it... this soon? Now why's that I wonder? He began to grin as he made up his mind.

Elthrael had never seen a human before, it seemed to be like a more robust elf and with a strong unusual scent, which had now strangely been replaced with the scent of jasmine. Those two things aside, he couldn't make out what made it so special that it warranted the undead king's attention. He would have prefered to watch a fight between the two, but with the presence of the young fairies that was not going to happen. The dark winged fairy knew he had to get in there, this was the opportunity of a lifetime. Two young female fairies and a human as a bonus, now that was a good catch. He wasn't going to allow some dirty dark elf to steal his prize.

He drew his blade quietly whilst the dark elf attacked the human, gripping the sword into his right hand, Elthrael then reached out with his left hand towards the bark of the tree, which branch he stood upon. That's when a fox came rushing into the scene, taking hold of the human and getting him out of harms way. Oh? A companion to these girls? How very timely indeed.

One of the fairies, the one with the more revealing clothes then tried to reason with the dark elf.

Such fierce defiance. Such bold courage. Such relentless beauty. Elthrael thought to himself and then pressed his hand harder against the bark of the tree. He was just about to begin channeling his magic, when he saw something so bizarre and so strange that he froze. The human can call upon the very earth itself to form weaponry?! What manner of power is this?! I must obtain it... The human kept talking and yelling, as it revealed more of it's powers. It was a noisy human, loud and aggressive. Elthrael looked on with much interest, but then finally collected himself and focused deeply on the task at hand.

Spirits of the forest, I'll offer you this dark elf fool and his beasts as a sacrifice... You may do with them as you please! The fairy thought as he channeled his magic through his left hand still placed upon the tree.

The branches, excluding the one which he stood upon, of nearby trees began to twist and turn as if animated into arms and hands. Hollow spaces in the trees would glow slightly, giving many of the trees the visuals of them having distorted faces, with glowing eyes and grinning mouths. The roots of the trees popping out of the ground and the hanging vines would slither forth to attack the dark elf and his beastly allies. The vines would lash and twirl, like spasmic whips, with intent to lash and entangle their targets. The branches would slam into the ground, like rakes they would slash and pull through the nearby foilage, albeit out of the dark elf's reach. The mighty roots would rise up fully and then either be fully held up or slam down, aiming towards the dark elf. Carefully avoiding to slam the spot where the two fairies stood.

Cade thought about Ayita’s lack of repayment, he hadn’t expected payment for his help, the thought of a noble adventure was more than enough for him and it wasn’t like he really needed anything. He did however understand being a creature of pride; to take without an exchange would feel dishonorable to him and to owe a strange would mean to live in debt without knowing what could one day be asked of you. As he briefly contemplated what he could ask for that she would be able to give he heard the orc complain. His opinion of the creature was set, this was not a being of honor; Korvash seemed more than willing to let this stranger to their lands suffer whatever fate Aklenroth would impose. Inori, on the other hand, was calm as he answered Ayita’s questions. A shiver of terror traveled through Cade’s spine, down through his tail which twitched in agitation each time Inori spoke the Aklenroth’s name aloud. This was something even Cade was not brave or foolish enough to do. He feared the king and his unnatural magic over the dead, and a part of him even feared that speaking his very name was enough to summon the King’s wrath upon them. His dilated eyes scanned the surroundings just to be sure that hadn’t happened. He saw no sign of the undead, and caught no scent of unnatural rot in the air and relaxed slightly. Unlike his orc companion Inori seemed to have some honor and had agreed to help as well, which in turn made the little blue guy seem more trustworthy to Cade than he first thought. He shot a look of pure disdain at the orc the second the word kitty left the creature’s mouth.

“Call me kitty one more time and I’ll claw your tongue from your mouth.” He threatened, his words a quiet growl. While Cade felt Inori was deserving of his respect, the orc had earned none of this and he would not allow such an insult to go unchallenged. Normally he wouldn’t wish to show his more animalistic nature in the presence of a guest but this woman did not appear to be as delicate as the fairy women did. He sensed a spirit more his equal, based on her posture and demeanor, someone who had a warrior’s spirit. As Inori had finished speaking, and before the orc had chance to respond, he turned his attention back to Ayita and the puzzle of what to ask in exchange for his help.

“I have heard that the Lich King fears humans, for they have power even he does not, although I don’t know exactly how your kind pose a threat to him. A simple adventure, and the opportunity to help one who strikes fear into being of pure evil is more than enough for me but I can understand not wanting an unpaid debt. My price for assistance is for something no one of my world could give; a story from your world, as I have never heard a tale from another world.” Cade said, making his request. Something he knew that the human could give but also something unique and of great worth. Cade loved stories and hear one from another world entirely and one no one else here had heard before was worth more than shiny trinkets.

O'Ner Faister

O'Ner listened to everything his master said to him, "Interesting, I wonder what kind of magic could bring humans into this world. I must know form their summoners" He spoke to himself using his free hand to tap on his boney chin. "It shall be done my lord, However do you think we should take the summoners prisoner? So we can interrogate them for information to create these rifts?" He spoke up still staying behind his master wanting to keep his distance.

"Once we gain the ability to make these rifts, We can use that to make more soldiers or to conquer these humans?" He gave his reason to gain the information to make a much larger army for Aklenroth. However he may disagree with capturing a human and interrogating them, However he thought it would be in their best interest. Another thought came into his head and that was how much of a hassle this will all be, And it was just going to annoy him to no end.

"Your daughter my lord?" He asked not quite getting what he meant by fetching his daughter, He was pretty sure that his master's family was long deceased. He himself had only two blood relatives that were still alive, His daughter and grandson. However he had died when his daughter was sixteen years old, And he has not met his grandson whom he wished deeply to meet but felt that it would be fruitless. He was a undead general to a army of a quite unfavorable fellow.

O'Ner's questioning would be answered by the demon floating towards them with her umbrella, Feeling annoyed already form her presence. "A pleasure to meet you" He spoke to Sakura in a plain tone of voice. Listening to her speak with her "Father" was grating to his non existent ears. "I will leave right away to prepare, And i will meet with you later" He addressed the last part of his sentence towards Sakura. Once he got his respond form Aklenroth he would leave to prepare.

Ayita already didn't trust neither Inori nor Korvash that much, but the following exchange of words between them further made Ayita realize just how certain she was. Korvash was quick to voice his opinion. According to him, Ayita wasn't supposed to be on Avalia, the obvious fear he had that the 'lich' found and killed them seemed to be enough for him to just resort to kill her on the spot to avoid possible trouble. While not as... simple minded and straight forward as his brutish, dumb green friend, it became clear to Ayita that Inori had thought about it, judging by his thoughtful expression and the tone on his voice. He did seem to be the type of person who didn't care about anything but himself. Whimsical and prone to sudden change of heart. Overall, someone whom Ayita definitely couldn't trust completely... That said, despite all that, he still provided Ayita with some more information about said 'lich'.

According to Inori's words, the lich's name was Aklenroth, proceeding to give a number of aliases he was known by. Apparently, he was aiming for complete control over Avalia, a tyranical ruler, drunk with power. By some weird reason, humans were his main focus, judging by how alarmed the giant Korvash was when he saw her. While Ayita was indeed grateful for the information, she still thought it was rather dangerous to be around someone like Inori... and by extension, Korvash too. Surprisingly enough, for reasons yet unknown for Ayita, Inori said that they would help her with a rather unsettling grin, despite his giant green friend quite obviously disagreeing with his decision.

It was no secret for both Korvash and Inori that Ayita didn't trust them not even one bit. It was already clear by the way she looked at them, but the second she heard Korvash's words and he pointed his finger at her, Ayita's stare became a piercing, stone cold one. While she indeed was in need of help, she simply couldn't shake off the feeling that Inori was either using her or had other reasons for helping her, other than just having met a 'fair maiden'.

"I see... Thank you for your help." Ayita said, analyzing both of them.

Before she could ask more questions, Cade further developed on Inori's explanation, filling the holes he had left. According to him, this lich, Aklenroth, feared humans because they were supposed to have a power that not even he could have. Such words were strange to Ayita, since for her, she was a simple human. As far as she knew humans had no special powers... at least not on her world...
When he mentioned his price for helping her being a simple story from her world, she couldn't help but let out a smile appear on her face. Unlike Inori, she could feel that Cade was much more trustworthy. His honesty and the fact that she somehow could feel some type of 'connection' to him made her find it easier to trust the cat man.

"I may not know anything about Avalia, but I do have many stories about my world to tell those who are interested about them." she said, with a discreet smile.

"Just one more thing... You said humans are feared by this lich called Aklenroth, for the 'power' they have... What exactly is this power?" Ayita asked, clearly still a bit confused about the whole situation. Despite her confusion though, she seemed to be absorbing everything remarkably well, without any resistance for things such as the magic Inori was casting or even the clearly non-human creatures talking to her right now.
