Gene Benaszewski & Nora Kingston

Location: Athribis - Underground
Skills: Pattern Analysis, Cryptography, Mathematics, Decipher hieroglyphics, Acute Observation
Nora nodded slightly at Lauren's question, hoping that the light really was a good sign. It could easily be Belladonna down there, using her wits and resources to find her way back to the rest of the group. She didn't know what to believe beyond what could be predicted via mathematics and analysis, yet she had an intuition that they would know whether or not Belladonna had caused the flames soon enough. Faye's words struck her as slightly contradictory - rush on ahead, yet be cautious in movement - though Nora did not expect anything different from an American. She knew that she was prejudiced against that country and its citizens, but that did not change Nora's opinions all the same.

Gene had been about to spit in the face of the Lord Major, but for some reason failed to do such a simple thing and ended up dripping spit down her chin. She wiped her face clean with the back of her arm quickly and moved on. Interesting things were happening and she could humiliate the Lord Major later on. The voices interested her more than anything else - the first was Peter, she had spent a great deal of time with him, teaching him what she knew. And then there was George, her "twin brother." The words were out of context, but she figured someone had seen him without his mask on and freaked out. Normals were annoying like that.

Still attempting to navigate, Nora paused, consulting her notes again on what they had seen. She wasn't too sure which way they should proceed from here and with the darkness, she could hardly see. The lighting situation was remedied relatively quickly, stopping them from having to stumble about in the darkness thankfully. "Give me a moment, the path is becoming more challenging to identify," she said to the rest of the Fellowship. So many things were happening all at once, it was getting difficult for her to see the patterns.

The dark haired Emendator looked at Lauren for a moment, considering how to explain what was going on without completely shattering her world view. "I'm not sure - others like me are near, which probably isn't that good of an omen should they have come here. I had thought that the shadow monster - called the Destruere - was here and responsible but... Perhaps not," Gene confessed. "Give me a moment though, I'll see if anything comes to mind. When you've been alive as long as I have been, you see so many strange and unusual things that they can sort of blend together at moments." She looked up towards the ceiling, trying to see what the Lord Major had been going on about.

Josephine Clark

Location: Elite Cabin Deck
Skills: N/A

Josephine was torn between wonder and fear. It was an interesting mix of feelings, to be sure. What could she do when the sands were literally moving around them? And whatever force was coming to, most likely, do them harm, would not sit idly by while they prepare themselves. She was about to suggest something when she heard a voice. A voice that should not be. The last time she heard the voice felt like long ago, but she knew the voice was connected to someone thought dead. Yet, she heard it too. And judging from Veraā€™s reaction, she heard it and was processing it.

Reddish had the idea to find supplies, but Jo was torn leaving Vera alone. And Mosi was dealing with something, screaming about Vera disappearing. ā€Ok, I think we can all agree this is getting out of hand. So, darling, go with Reddish to fetch supplies. I think it would do your mind a world of good to be focused on a task. Reddish, keep her safe and find what you can. Iā€™ll stay behind with Lady Munn and ensure she is taken care of and safe. I would feel awful leaving her alone like this.ā€ She addressed the others, hoping the woman would go with Reddish to fetch whatever they felt necessary. She wasnā€™t about to leave Vera lone, not after she heard the voice too.

Faye Masterson

Location:Arthribis (Underground)
Skills: Occult Knowledge, Research

Faye took great care to observe everything occurring. The fact Richard was asking her for help now, about something otherworldly when he had been so adamant that this sort of thing was impossible, made her feel a bit giddy despite the situation. She knew they had to keep moving, less whatever danger was abound find them and deal with them. ā€I am not positive, but I have put tons of time into research into strangde occurrences. From what I can gather, this appears like a sort of time spell? It isnā€™t as cut and dry as that though. I would hazard a guess that whoever cast a spell like this did more than one. This appears like multiple spells were cast and they are all converging here and now. If that is the case, it could be disastrous, which is why I suggest we keep moving as quickly as possible.ā€

She heard voices and the others recognized them. Things were all coming together, and it would not end well. She glanced up as the old man spoke about the ceiling evaporating. ā€Funny you should mention time. Things seem to be warping and changing, as if we are moving through time. So it must be a time spell of some sort. But why?ā€ She pressed onward, despite the morbid curiosity that wanted her to sit and study the effects. This was both fascinating and scary. Equal parts adventure and horror.

Deeper Than The Sands

Special Note: That Haze will remain until further notice, so make sure to keep to it. ^_^

Boat (Sun Deck): While looking at the city is rather amazing, it is as beautiful as it is disturbing, it reveals no clues as to why Vera would be fading from existence like someone slowly erasing her from a drawing pad. Looking down at her hands, Vera is seeing that more and more of her is vanishing from sight. Her eyes widening as she turns her hands over and over again and again. Looking at her hands both in horror and fascination. Her head whips to one side to look at Mosi. "I feel quite well but frankly I am rather disturbed, I am..." she began to say but her words dropped off as she looked towards Reddish, only to note he too was fading away.

"Oh dear..." Vera muttered as she stood there. This was not good. Something went through her mind and quickly she pulled out her journal and thrust it towards Josephine. "Keep it safe! Please! I implore you!" she begged but her voice was now fading away as well. It wasn't but one or two heartbeats before the Lady Munn seemed to fade from the world. Where had she gone? It was anyones guess but she was only the first to go.... Reddish seemed to be quickly following, he would only last until the end of this round before he too was gone.

Athribis (Underground): There doesn't seem to be a direction that the voices are coming from, more of a general echo that makes it difficult to discern where it is coming from. He can't figure out how the voices are there, that is just beyond his knowledge. Nora is finding it more difficult to figure out which way to go. The carvings are fading and seem to be shifting now. It is like trying to solve two problems at once with only half the information for either. Now, while Gene isn't exactly sure what is going on, she is starting to feel as if some of the fading and switching out of scenery seems familiar. Not in experienced before herself but as something she had read, or perhaps seen before, somewhere, sometime, a long time ago. Like a real damn long time ago. Like a fucking life time ago. Or three, or more. Faye doesn't know what the hell is going on but one thing she is pretty sure of is if this is occult, if one deals with the situation or panic, or tries to fight it, it could cause a lot of physical pain.

And as elsewhere one had faded away and another has started, as has here. Nora's hands and hair seem to be fading away into the haze. And she is not the only one. The Lord Major is as well. Those that look will notice it. Anything Nora or Reginald say will start to become as faded as they are. By the end of this round they will fade away into nothingness. The last thing that Nora or Reginald will hear before they fully fade away is, "Hurry, follow me." It is Vera, somewhere, and only they will hear it.

*Both groups will hear other things though:

"Can we please get the fucking hell out of here now?"

"...Are we dead?"

"You talk too much."

"Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckā€¦"

Priscilla Harker

Location: Boat(Sun deck)
Skills: Occult(Mostly researched European and North American Occultism)

Mosi watched with quite a bit of concern and fascination as the woman was indeed vanishing into thin air. Slowly seemingly at first, but then rapidly. It was like someone was actually erasing her from a drawing! This was indeed a horrifying magical experience, depending on what was going to transpire with the woman after she vanishes from here. Would she just appear elsewhere or was she really simply just vanishing? That was a question that she didn't have an answer to. The soldier dude seemed to REALLY want to go get bullets, not a bad idea, if it wasn't for the situation of one of them vanishing. Then the acress decided to advise her to go with him to get supplies and just as Mosi was about to reply to that suggestion, she stopped just before she was about to make a sound, eyes locked on the man.

"So much for that plan of yours."Mosi replied as she noticed the distinct signs of the man following suit to Vera who stuffed a journal looking thing into Josephine's arms before she vanished completely and the man looked like he was about to vanish any moment as well." Good luck, got any words before you vanish as well?" She said to him, knowing he would vanish soon. She didn't have a proof that they would appear elsewhere, but there wasn't a proof against it either. So she choose to believe they were being transported rather than simply erased. Even if they were thrown to the world of the dead, it would be better than simply spotting to exist. In either case she couldn't think of any reason for them to be vanishing.

"Well... seems like it's going to be just us any moment now." She said to Josephine and now that two of them were gone, the idea of stocking up wasn't that bad either." Guess we should go arm up or stock up on supplies ourselves now that it will be just two of us." Mosi mentioned and looked about the ship." Might want to also check if there are any of the crew who might be awake and aware..."

Mahendra Huq Zalil & Richard Barker

Location: Athribis (Underground)
Skills: Excavation - N/A

Mahendra turned briefly to look at Lauren as she posed the question that was certainly on everyone's lips. A question they all had asked and attempted to answer before several times, and so far not given a satisfactory explaination to, least not Mahendra. He'd wish he knew what to say, what to think and how to rationalize the impossible phenomenon that was occuring around - and in some cases inside - of them. All that Mahendra could do for the moment, was to give Lauren a look of equal ignorance, before peaking his ears to the Lord Major's question. The ceiling?

Richard was not liking the answer Faye was giving to him, not in the slighest. But hey, what should he have expected when he asked a self-proclaimed occulist in a flapper's dress about what the hell was going on around them? Richard gave Faye a look of supressed disbelief, hearing words such as Spells and Hazards. "Great, just great then? Yeah, let's keep movingā€¦I have no idea what to do." Richard commented back to Faye, his free hand reaching for his pack of cigarettes and fishing one out. To hell with the "fire and brimstone". If he was going to Hell now, he wasn't going to quit smoking. And it sounded like the old man in the back needed one as well. "What now? The ceiling's going away too?" As if the voices they heard coming from nowhere wasn't enough!

The Bengali geologist didn't repeat the question after the clumsy American had posed it, turning back to Nora as she was having trouble navigating what he was increasingly fearing was becoming them tomb. "Please, Miss Kingston. I fear our time is running scarcely short, with what our two American ladies are presenting." Mahendra said to Nora, his eyes darting back and forth the ever changing tunnels they stood in. That was until they locked onto Nora, watching in horror as her very fabric of existance was being vaporized before his very eyes. "Youā€¦you're vanishing, Miss Kingston!"

"ā€¦She's not the only one blowing away, Mr. Subcontinentā€¦" was Richard's response to Mahendra freaking out up ahead. He too watched someone disappearing into nothingness, seeing the Lord Major's form turning into nothing. This was unsettling, more than unsettling. Richard had been about to light his cigarette, but it only dangled on his dried lips as he watched the Lord Major disappear before him. He'd seen a lot. A whole lot; corpses of murder victims, brutalized women in wet alleyways, the filthy sewers of NYC, druggies and so much more. This? This was way out of his league, and he was having trouble processing it. This couldn't be real, it shouldn't be real, but it was.

As were the voices both Mahendra and Richard heard; "Are these the voices of the Dead? It can't beā€¦" "I have no idea, palā€¦but 'fuck' indeedā€¦"

Reginald Keystone

Location: Athribis (Underground) -> ?
Skills: N/A

So much as the ceiling's imminent departure weighed heavily upon the mind of the Lord Major, it was not so much as the sudden lapse that he had into self-doubt. Perhaps he was getting too old to do these kinds of things anymore; the running about and adventuring, shooting, driving fast, hopping into his aeroplane from the War and buzzing the outlying regions of Cairo whilst scaring the hell out of various livestockery - truly a sadistic joy he had gotten every so often watching herbs of goats stiffen up and fall over as he drunkenly gunned his engines earthward over a drove of the horned beasties. Not that he bore the goats any malice (they were excellent roasted or prepared with curry and a carrot souffle, he found), Reginald just had a boyish sense of humor sometimes that came out in ways occasionally inappropriate. Perhaps a defense mechanism from his decades of constant war on behalf of his Empire. Well, hindsight being what it was, it wasn't the most dignified thing for a man of his stature to do with his free time.

But he digressed. Retirement was not his lot, regardless of the his temporary dip into doubt. This was merely a step into a greater adventure, one with dangers and puzzles the likes of which he had not previous experience. This made it even more the adventurous task set before him, as it required preemptive thought and actual study of a situation, not the application of some lesson learned from an incident that happened to him some odd number or decades past that might partially apply in this case. This was truly living, even in his autumn years, and there was the very real possibility that Reginald would not have the answers. He already didn't have very many of them as it stood, Perhaps this would even lead him to a death worthy of the old horned-helmed Vikings of lore, one deserving of a spot in the Halls of Valhalla, even though he didn't believe a word of it, himself. The concept did make for a charmingly romantic story, however.

No, he was not going senile. This was just another obstacle in his great journey with his Fellows (be they technically led by a Fellow-ette, or Lady-Fellow, or whatever the gynocentric equivalent of this was as the word escaped the Lord Major at just that moment, intent as he was upon being polite even in his own mind and even as it showed his more old fashioned and chauvinistic upbringing), one that he would meet with the headstrong certainty and puzzle their way around. Yes, the moment of uncertainty was behind him, ad this newly revitalized spirit of derring-do, the old man would stand and face this new challenge with spirit equal to the stories that still clung to his name.

But this was not to happen. Reginald could feel a change coming over him, and could see as his extremities were coming away like sand in a desert wind, parting from him effortlessly as a gradual lightening of his earthly form filled his senses. There was understandable alarm at first - but only at first. No. It wasn't fair. He had been ready for death for a long time now, if only there was one worthy of himself. Something not just for his vanity or because he was in love with his own legend, but for the honor of giving his life for a greater purpose; God, country, or king. Friendship would have worked, as well. To sacrifice himself for the mission. To save the life of one younger, stronger, with the potential to do real good for the world. His death had to mean something, if just to atone for the mistakes he made in every other aspect of his life. He had upheld the honor of the Keystone line, surely, but he had let down his own family. Wife and children both. Be it that he married out of obligation, he stepped into that obligation willingly and failed them through his lack of presence and his extramarital indiscretions. He had failed his mistress, too. Giving her a child out of wedlock and failing to publicly recognize her despite financial support, like she was a dirty secret. He had sired a whole other Keystone line, unrecognized commoners that now would never know the truth of themselves and be doomed to poverty and hardship, rejected by the classes altogether.

He might have fixed all of it. The dust that was his corporeal form continued to blow away in a windless environment. If he could do certain things over, he would have, without question. But there was no fixing it now. This was not the end that he wanted, but it was probably the one that he deserved, once-hero or not. His only saving grace was that he had another Will drawn up back in his Cairo office that might help his illegitimate offspring somewhere down the line. He just needed his batman, Corporal Reddish, to access it, if only he knew to look for it.

So much left undone. Tears formed and evaporated instantaneously, spirited away the same force that blew away the details of his exterior, painlessly showing bone and blood that never touched the ground. "No," his fading form intoned quietly, "I do not die like this." He had lived his like unafraid of death. It would be wholly unseemly to lament or cringe now that the Great Unknown summoned him. Reginald drew his sword, little more than a hilt and a handsbreadth of solid steel, and raised it in salute. Death claimed him, and he would stand unafraid, challenging the inevitable. Summoning the last strength his evaporating body allowed, he stood tall behind his sword and stated flatly, "Have at you, sir." His brow quirked and eyes changed direction of focus at the last possible half-second, as if he recognized something.

It was at that moment the nothingness took him.

Haring Reddish

Location: Benha (Sun Deck) -> ?
Skills: Pistol

This... what the hell was going on here? And why was that one woman so calm throughout it all? This wasn't the calm of a person who was dealing with sudden and dramatic change, like he was seeing from Josephine. This seemed different. Speaking with a note of authority on issues supernatural, never so much as flinching at the sudden and dramatic change to their environment, things that were otherwise impossible without either himself succumbing to madness or intervention of things most infernal. Madness, he might understand. Reddish had seen and done a lot more than decent, brave men he had served with; soldiers who had lost themselves to the brutality of war. It might just be his turn. Some of the things he had done, Reddish figured he might even deserve it. Seeing as others bore witness to the world's abrupt change and disappearance of the entire crew, it was likely that Reddish hadn't gone mad yet. But if he did not, and this was the world around them all, then everyone else had problems much larger than going a little nuts.

But that woman. Reddish was present for everything that had gone down with the formation of the Fellowship. He had seen the deaths that suddenly started to pile up. The older lady, Neema, by spontaneous bloody combustion the moment that Priscilla showed up at the Museum. Neema's nephew. The writer, Haakon, down in Archives. Even the couple who just wanted to get away and start a new life for themselves, Sergeant Harry and Miss Tarek, good friend to the Lord Major. Death my misadventure, all within hours of this woman appearing on scene, talking about matters occult and the like. She had no tie to the rest of the group, supposedly bound only by the common strands of some dream or scarification, none of which appeared to weigh upon her in the least.

No, no something was off here. The way they spoke started this train of thought off in Reddish; the calm if circular conversation on the question of whether they should arm and equip themselves more properly, a thought that he assumed would be a foregone conclusion of logic but which apparently merited talking more. And speaking about the shadowy figures with what he thought was supposition. Or was it? Could it not be direct knowledge, its origin nefarious int he fact that it was not explained? Did she in fact know more than she was letting on?

Not directly related - what was she doing while Nora's group went to Athribis to look for more information and Josephine accompanied him on a lead for the thieves that had been plaguing them? The last he saw of Priscilla, she was smiling and headed to the rose gardens, far away from anything helpful to their expedition. Like this was a vacation somehow. Oh, things were piling up. Highly suspicious things.

But the last straw was right then. The thing which mortared the bricks of his suspicions as he began to fade into oblivion: She looked him straight in the face as his mortality was coming to collect, and gave him the smug one-liner of "So much for that plan of yours." He was vanishing. Vera was vanishing, both of them into the ether of nothingness, and Priscilla was taunting them. Reddish was speechless. Reflexively, he went to Vera, wanting to protect her from the very thing that he could not protect himself from. Vera passed her journal to Josephine, just before she fully disappeared, leaving Reddish to see his own fate in a few short seconds. Mouth agape, he looked to the starlet.

A thousand words lingered on his expression, none of which he would have time to say. If this was the end, he probably shouldn't waste words on inconsequential things like his admiration for the woman, or that the previous night was one of the most memorable of his life and he wouldn't have changed a thing about it. A man less enamored might not notice that the Egyptian sun made her platinum hair glow an angelic white. He might not notice the way that she tucked her hair behind her ears when she was lost in thought, or might not notice that she indeed had an active and agile mind suited to the adventures she commonly portrayed on the silver screen. His look might say that if he were anybody of note in the world, Reddish could have told her so. But he was who he was, and she was who she was, and none of it mattered because he was mere seconds from fading completely away.

As Reddish became increasingly more transparent and fuzzy, and Vera had poofed away completely, he heard further taunt from the woman who went by Mosi: "Good luck, got any words before you vanish as well?" What was she, some dime-novel villain?

The Corporal drew his service revolver and pointed it directly between Mosi's eyes. "What have you done?" he asked pointedly, a trace of whisper leaning toward a supplication, "Make it bloody stop, please." Perhaps if he had the strength to pull the trigger before it was too late, he could put a halt to the horrible things befalling these people, who had done nothing to her in their lives. "Save yourself, Miss Clarke!" he said, tone to the imperative. There were weapons enough for soldiering in his room, and cargo held much besides. If Reddish failed here, Josephine still had options. Or for all he knew, they were all already dead. But he had to try. Even if this was just madness coloring his outlook, Reddish couldn't just do nothing.

His finger depressed the trigger of his Webley revolver, a gun which once belonged to his personal hero. His aim was true and the weapon functional, if fading into nothingness along with its owner. The sound of the weapon discharging seemed echoed and far away, much quieter than it should have been and seemingly without source. The bullet itself streaked out of the barrel, unerringly striking Mosi in her forehead the very instant that Reddish faded out of reality entirely.

The force of the bullet slammed into Mosi like a bareknuckle boxer flooring someone with a devastating overhand right. It, like the gun it came from and the man who pulled the trigger, disappeared before any lasting damage could be done. Mosi could talk about gathering Reddish's supplies while she was picking herself up off the ground.

Lauren Ridgeway

Location: Athribis (Underground)
Skills: N/A

Lauren watched on as Nora continued to try and work on finding a route to where Belladonna was, as she turned to face Gene as she answered her question raising an eyebrow towards her wondering what she meant. "So, you are saying you are some kind of ancient being?" Lauren asked since no one could live long lives at all. As she looked up at the ceiling as it continued to fade away as well, she was pretty sure that none of this was normal at all. Lauren then turned her attention back over towards her friend Nora, and started to notice her friend's hands starting to fade.

"Whats happening?!" Lauren said as she watched the Lord Major starting to fade as well, as she started to get scared that things were getting much worse. She had a daughter at home as well, and her husband back in the states, as she started to worry about them as well, biting her bottom lip. Lauren felt completely helpless as to what she could try and help them as well, and she was scared what it may be happening to everyone else in their little group as well who weren't with them right now either. Lauren wanted to try and get out of here as soon as possible and she wanted to get home and away from this place as soon as possible to.

Gene Benaszewski & Nora Kingston

Location: Athribis - Underground
Skills: Pattern Analysis, Cryptography, Mathematics, Decipher hieroglyphics, Acute Observation, Counterfactual History, Quick Study
Faye was quickly becoming Gene's favorite of this lot, purely since she seemed to have a knack for the peculiar and an awareness of what might be going on. Of course, her own pool of knowledge on this topic was a bit limited, though she had a strong sense of dƩjƠ vu with all of this. Maybe she had read something along these lines - or even seen something like this before? At any rate, it must have been eons ago - lifetimes ago easily. "Yes," she answered Lauren, rolling her eyes slightly. "I'm what you would call an Emendator - though continue to think of me as a psychic, as I imagine that is easier for you to understand." She wasn't about to spend time clearing up just exactly what everyone there was - for instance, Belladonna was a Paradox though a witch was an easy enough to understand label for the time being. They could have a riveting discussion on just what everyone was later.

Nora was frantically looking over her notes, attempting to continue with the navigation but it was practically impossible at this point. Each carving she wanted to reference had started to fade or even shift, becoming something entirely different. She wished that she could have a photograph or a portrait of what the carvings had looked like, in order to continue moving forward but for now, her intuition was telling her that they might as well pause for the moment. She had no idea where they would go if she continued to press on forward down these paths at random - it could easily cause them to overshoot and miss out on finding Belladonna entirely. "Yes, I know that time is running short - yet as you can see, it is simply becoming highly improbable to identify the correct path onwards," Nora answered Mahendra, feeling her impatience growing. She knew that the situation was dire, yet rushing was not going to help in this scenario.

As he told her that she was vanishing, Nora's eyes widened as she glanced at her hands, seeing that they were not really there anymore. It was like she was fading away. Her heart began to beat extremely quickly and she glanced around rapidly, trying to identify something that could be used to explain what was happening or to slow the process, but there was nothing. The Lord Major was vanishing as well. Her notebook fell to the ground and Nora took a breath, attempting to compose herself as she locked eyes with Lauren, saying something that could not be heard, before she vanished entirely. It was as if she had never existed to begin with.

Gene didn't recognize the voices that she was hearing, though she was shocked as she saw Nora and the Lord Major fade away into nothingness. "Alright, don't panic," she told the rest of them, taking charge. "You, with the occult skills - do you know anything about how to stop a time spell?" she asked quickly. There had to be some way for them to stop this - or at least to prevent this from happening to the rest of them. She wished that Gio was there. Time magic was definitely his area of expertise, given that he was the Emendator called the Watch.

All happened too fast. Way too fast! One moment she was speaking out and the next she had a gun aimed at her head! All her body went into overdrive to react to the sudden situation, but it was simply too late already and her body didn't react in time. They say that before death life flashes by your eyes... In a way that was what Mosi experienced, she forgot how to breath as that singular moment lasted for eternity. Many a thing flashed though her mind before the bullet was releashed, good decisions, bad decisions... a singular regret about stuff not yet realized... She had yet to learn so many of the occult. Then there was another regret in that moment, she wished she could have stabbed that bastard in the balls if she was to die...

Then the force slammed into her head, throwing her back. Her eyes were unmoving, unfocused, her head was clear of thoughts aside the force that pushed her back. The sky filled all her view as she just slammed backwards onto the deck. There was no breathing, her heartbeat was uneven, but rapid for a moment. She was sure she should be dead...' The sky is... pretty.' Was her singular thought as her back and head finally hit the floor.

Mosi stood there unmoving..., unblinking and not breathing for a good few long moments... It was a lot for her head to process. When a body convinced itself that it should be dead, it might even do so, or so she believed anyways, but as she was there still as dead, suddenly she gasped. A fast and deep breath was heard as she inhaled with all the capabilities and capacity of her lungs. Following that was a rapid breathing as she could barely keep her breath, before she rolled to the side and an arm reached to her head. She was alive. She shouted, an angry yet joyful scream that was as she pulled up onto her knees, eyes starting to focus as she looked madly about like a wounded beast.

"R...R....Re...Reddish!" She screamed in fury not finding the man anywhere." COME BACK HERE YOU WEAK TEA DRINKING SON OF A WHORE AND FIGHT LIKE A MAN! DAMN COWARD, RETURN AND FIGHT AS A MAN, DARING TO PULL A SNEAK ATTACK, YOU BALLLESS COWARD, I WILL TURN YOU INTO AN EUNUCH IF I EVER SEE YOU AGAIN AND THEN FEED YOU YOUR VERY BALLS!" Mosi shouted as her fist hit the deck, still trying to regain her breath." Damn you, your parents, your grandparents, uncles, cousins, aunts, great grandparents, and all your other relatives to the ninth generation! I HOPE YOUR CHILDREN SUFFER BALDNESS FOR ETERNITY YOU DICKLESS BASTARD!" She continued for a while more and took a more focused deep breath." I WILL FUCKING TURN YOU INTO A WOMAN IF I EVER SEE YOU AGAIN DAMMIT! To shoot me in the head when I was honestly concerned if you had any last tasks that needed fulfilled after you vanish! So much for my honest desire to help unworthy imperial bastards! Even if I die, I will haunt you to suffer in hell!" She hollered some more and took yet another deep breath then her eyes fell on the actress and she finally stopped shouting at the no longer existing soldier.

It was all happening quickly, which was ironic since they were going back in time despite events progressing forwards. Before she knew it, Reddish and Vera both were vanishing before her eyes. Vera seemed very distraught by matters as she thrusted her journal at Josephine. She took it in her hands. She would, of course, take it and keep her word of finding the pages. ā€We will get you back, darling. Hold strong and try not to hurt yourself.ā€ She added a joke to hopefully lighten the mood, but even Joā€™s usually sunny disposition on most matters couldnā€™t quell the worry she was feeling.

She began to face Reddish to see him off before the man yelled at Mosi, accusing the woman of wrongdoing. Before she knew it, Reddish had pulled a gun out. ā€Reddish n-ā€œ she tried to stop him, but it was too late as the bullet impacted the woman. She fell and Jo ran over to check on the wound. It had hit her head and she was surprised the woman had not been killed. In fact, given her lung capacity, she seemed pretty well off. ā€Darling, conserve your energy. You have been wounded and I have no medical knowledge to speak of. We need to find you aid and quickly.ā€ She glanced around, wondering if the doctor that had fallen unconscious had remained or if he had disappeared as well.

Faye Masterson

Location:Arthribis (Underground)
Skills: Occult Knowledge, Research

Faye went through all the knowledge she had learned. Truthfully, she never thought she would be placed in this situation, but she was happy to be of some use. Unfortunately, there would be no way to stop this from occurring. They had no means of doing so regardless. ā€Iā€™m afraid there is no way to stop this. In my research, spells like this are unstoppable unless you have the right ingredients and we have nothing of the sort. I fear we will have to grin and bear it.ā€

Harder than you would think as she saw the old man with them, once in front of her, now no more. It seemed what was happening was taking some of their numbers with them. Add on top the voices she was hearing of people she did not recognize, and she wondered if perhaps the time stream was all colliding on top of them. ā€As chaotic as this is, I do not think we are in danger of the time spell. The creature is the biggest threat. It has to be something that either knew this would happen or is in direct cause of it. Either way, we need to go somewhere and not remain still otherwise we will not live to see this end.ā€ She took more steps onward, not remaining behind if she could help it. She wanted to see this through to the very end. Curiosity prevailed, despite logic telling her to freak out.

Deeper Than The Sands

Date: October 6th, 1924

*Roll requests can be made in chat or can be left at the bottom of your post for results in the next update. You can get a roll during your post and add another in the update at the bottom of your post! Ever in doubt of what to post, just drop me a message and we can talk.

Special Note: That Haze will remain until further notice, so make sure to keep to it. ^_^

Boat (Sun Deck): All other persons on the boat seem to be gone and the scenery is changing quickly. Your full update will come in the next T.S. update. At that point you will be posting over there for Josephine and Mosi. You are done posting here for both characters. ^^ So just hold tight for the next T.S. update in a couple of days.

Athribis (Underground): Gene is trying to figure out just what in the hell is going on and how to keep from fading away. She doesn't know what is going on but looking around, taking into consideration things she has seen in her past and things she has been a part of she is figuring that in truth, everyone is fading away and so is everything. It is just that those fading off to places elsewhere are fading together. It is almost like watching someone step through a portal or stepping through one herself. It looks and feels the same. Maybe this is an old friends work and it is showing oddly because of everything going on. She is still feeling that pull but it is coming from different directions now, as if it shifted. It is still pulling in the same general directions but now seems to be shifting on a third axis now and going down.

For the rest in the Underground, more and more is fading away around them. But it doesn't seem to be being replaced by anything, more like it is being erased, the world itself around them. And once can still hear voices but the voices now are garbled and as fuzzy and hazy as your surroundings. There is no single voice coming through, more like trying to listen to a crowd speaking after having someone yell in your ears. Every time you think you can focus on a single voice it fades into the background and muddles in with the rest of them. As disturbing as the entire situation is though, you aren't in pain. This doesn't hurt. It doesn't even feel odd, physically that is. Mentally this is a lot to to take in and process but everyone seems to be keeping their cool but chances are that isn't because they are handling it well - sometimes so much comes at someone so fast your brain doesn't let you freak out totally.

Mahendra Huq Zalil & Richard Barker

Location: Athribis (Underground)
Skills: N/A - N/A

They were gone, both of them. The Lord Major and Nora had faded away from their very existence, blowing away to somewhere unknown to Mahendra who could do nothing but look upon the absence of his companions in fear. Was this the fate for them all? What about himself, what would happen to him? Would he fade away like them, or something much worse? He didn't know, and the lack of understanding frightened him. And Gene was telling them not to panic? Okay, perhaps that was a good piece of advice after all. Mahendra tried to remain calm, bending down to pick up the notebook Nora dropped when sheā€¦disappeared. "Please be okay, Miss Kingstonā€¦please, Noraā€¦"

The fact that this was one of those situations where no one had any resemblence of control of it, made Richard all the more glad that he had his cigarette. Glad was perhaps not the best word to use. In the very least, it functioned as a small distraction to his one free hand and his mouth, following the indoctrinated pattern of breathing in the nicotine smoke, and out again. It was sad, wasn't it? The only thing Richard had control over was a piece of paper filled with tobacco between his dry lips. That was to say if the New York detective hadn't gone crazy yet. Richard turned to look at the other American woman, Ridgeway, to give her an answer. "Like the voice in the sky said earlier, in my professional opinion, we're fucked."

Mahendra stood up as he clutched Nora's notebook tightly, listening to Gene and Faye attempt at figuring out how to stop the time spell. They couldn't. What they could do, was to keep moving forward. "If that is so, Miss Masterson, let use move with haste!" Mahendra said back to her, turning around and taking a step forward. That's when he noticed the world fading out even more. Like pages left out in the sun, everything was blanding out, erased. Mahendra half-wanted to stop and find out more, but looking down at Nora's notebook, he pushed on through the very lack of pain one would imagine the world falling apart would cause. "Follow me, we need to move forward. For them." Mahendra ordered the others, opening Nora's notebook in hopes of understanding the way forward.

Richard, further in the back, was out of ideas. This was not something he had experienced before, and even if he didn't want to listen to Faye and her mumbo-jump, she was the expert of the two of them. Breathing in deeply with his cigarette, Richard gave Faye an empty look, as if he had used up all his words and wits. He looked ahead, watching the world fading like the end of a late-night moving-picture, wondering what kind of Hell he was going through. Richard turend to hear the Indian fellow order them forward, before looking back at Faye he was moving too. If anything, he would follow in order to keep Faye safe, ancient monster or not. "If that monster if a bigger threat to us than the world turning into nothing, I don't want to stick around." Richard commented as casually as he could all thing consider, leaving the cigarette dangling in his mouth and following Faye.

Gene Benaszewski

Location: Athribis - Underground
Skills: Counterfactual History, Quick Study
Her favorite apparently didn't have any information on how to stop something like this. Gene cursed under her breath. The one time she welcomed the suggestions and input of this group and they had nothing. She honestly didn't know how much time they had at all, where to go, or if it would even work but she was in a position where all she could really think of doing would be to see if the Cards had anything in store for her. They had pointed her in the right direction countless times over the millennia, so why not now? "Oh, I wouldn't be bloody surprised if the Destruere caused this or just came to it like a moth to a flame," Gene muttered. There was no point in pretenses or trying to keep things easy for them to understand anymore. She had too much on her mind to bother keeping up the little game of make believe that she was just a psychic and this creature just a shadow monster.

At the very least, something finally popped into her mind. They couldn't stop this fade, just as much as when stepping through one of the Watch's portals you couldn't just change your mind and go somewhere else - you already went on through. It could have been that the haze was distorting everything, making it weird and hard to figure out what was going on, but she just wasn't sure. The pull to the other Emendators was now operating on a new axis, something that she found bizarre and Gene frowned slightly - had Gio and Gil decided to dig to the center of the Earth? She wouldn't have been too surprised if Gio convinced a Paradox to do it for a prank. "Where would you move to though? Everything's fading out... I don't think we can avoid this spell anymore, loves. It's too late for that."

Lauren Ridgeway

Location: Athribis (Underground)
Skills: N/A

Lauren watched as her friend Nora started to fade away completely now as well as the Lord Major, biting her bottom lip she wished that there was something that she could have done for her friend. Lauren looked over at Gene for a moment when she said what she was, she didn't know what an Emendator was at all. She was here for some kind of reason, but she didn't know what was actually going on here either sighing slightly as Lauren wished that there was someone who actually did have some answers on what was exactly happening. Lauren listened to Richard for a moment shaking her head slightly they were pretty much all screwed at this point anyway. "I guess we are all fucked together." Lauren said.

She leaned herself up against the wall as she looked at the constant fading symbols on the walls as she wondered what was going on or what was causing this as well. Even the Faye woman over by Richard didn't know what was going on or how to even stop it, Lauren just wished that she could actually see her daughter again one last time as well, and hoped that she was doing alright as well, she really did wish that she was back home in the states with her family as well.

Athribis (Underground): All fucked together, that seems to be the way of things but at least you aren't being ripped limb from limb by one of the creatures that Gene is speaking about. Someone in another place and time did and well, it wasn't pleasant to witness or experience to say the least. Just yuck. Gene seems to be the one that has the best grasp of the situation, or at least as well as one can have right now all things considered. It seems that people are just fading away into nothing and now it is only the five of you left. Things at one point had seemed to be fading together, or at least backwards. You were seeing the carvings and walls look more like one would think they would have centuries before, back when they were fresh and new. Then everything started going away.

Gene isn't sure which direction to go but she still has that pull in two directions, even though they have suddenly shifted. Like a roller-coaster right changing directions on you suddenly. Her inner compass feels wonky. Perhaps it is everything going on that is causing it. Both Mahendra and Richard (Nearly wrote Robert here) aren't sure which direction to go or what to do at this point. With everything fading out and people vanishing as if they were not there, where does one go? When it seems to be happening in every direction. The walls and carvings at this point are too faded to even be able to find a direction.

Fear not, or perhaps fear more because the world is fading more and faster now and seems to fade away completely. What is it replaced with? Well to take a vision before two others, let me quote:

Everything was shades of gray and black. A haze rising up, not like the haze before that seemed to disrupt their vision. This was more of a fog, like a dank English summer that rolled by and cut through the landscape like pea soup. Thick and sticky. It rose up in pillars from the ground and towards a black sky. Was the sky black? One couldn't tell. That same fog that seemed to roll over the ground rolled across the sky. Everything was still and it seemed so silent. Too silent.

Save for a few crackles. Was that a fire? Perhaps. There was a light. Several of them. Burning from something in the distance. And then the fog rolled in such a way to reveal what it was. It was torches burning within what looked to be iron cages. A jutting of black rock coming from the ground and someone standing there. Wait, where your eyes playing tricks on you? No, the fuzziness you were seeing it gone and you can see the details of the bones with perfect clarity. A skeleton, standing there, in worn robes, unmoving, a scythe in a hand. Like it had been set there as a warning? The robes were worn or were they? Or was that bandages? Like a mummy that had been unwrapped partially? It shouldn't be able to stand like that should it? No, bones should call to the ground when not being held together by flesh and skin. It shouldn't be standing there...

There is that and two that some of you have met before - A Miss Josephine and a Miss Mosi

*At this point, DttS is now fully merged over to T.S. - please make your next posts there. I will be updating the lists shortly. ^_^
