Din can fly now, so I could have her swoop in for the rescue.
@Gentlemanvaultboy @MULTI_MEDIA_MAN
So I tried Dragalia Lost when it came out, and it quickly becomes obvious that Euden is a harem protagonist. So even though I already have Din smitten with Geralt, should I allow the magical laws of harem protags to effect Din?
Saw there was a spot free, so I'm putting my hat in the ring.Name: Archer Emiya
Game Origin: Fate/Stay Night
Appearance:
Personality: Emiya was once someone who believed he could save everyone if he simply tried hard enough. His life was guided by the simple idea that the world needed heroes willing to put others before themselves. However, that mindset betrayed him time and again, ultimately resulting in the pessimistic and tortured person that he inevitably became. Unable to escape the purgatory that he had created for himself, he fought on as a killing machine. Existing as a timeless being, Emiya has had an unchecked amount of time to think about his misguided ideals and where they brought him. As a result he has resentment for himself more than anyone.
Despite wearing a stern face when matters concern himself, he can be rather playful and even lighthearted around others. When he isn't forced into combat and is leisurely passing time with company he enjoys, he is relaxed and smug. There is very little that affects him emotionally, and thus doesn't take insults or outbursts personally. At times he may even come across as arrogant, but such an attitude is merely his way of having fun and provoking an entertaining reaction from a person he enjoys being around. He would never admit it, but he also has personal enjoyment towards chores and cooking.
Background: Emiya is a Counter Guardian: a spirit who has long since passed on in their mortal life, eternally summoned to fight against extinction-level threats whenever the world calls upon them. Among them, Emiya is the most cynical and one of the most experienced. As he is a spirit materialized across time to fight for humanity, he would have been summoned to fight against Galeem and failed in his initial encounter against Galeem's attack. Turned into a wandering spirit and then revived once more, his eyes are still set firmly on ending the overwhelming threat he was tasked to fight against.
Specialty: All-rounder
Level: 1
Experience: 0/10
Powers:
- Projection - Emiya can create weapons that he has seen before using magic as long as it follows two conditions: that the weapon was made by a mortal, and that it is a melee weapon capable of cutting (swords, daggers, spears, axes, etc.) with the exception of his trademark bow. Once he has seen a weapon and created it, it's stored in his memory for future use. Starting off, he can only create Kanshou and Bakuya, dual short swords that can be thrown and returned to him like boomerangs, as well as his bow and arrows. He must learn to create other weapons through RP. Weapons made through Emiya's magic are nearly perfect replicas, maintaining the structure and special abilities of weapons he creates; however, their durability is lacking and creations break after a few clashes as a result. Any special abilities from created weapons are also not as powerful as their original versions, with the exception of Excalibur from the Arthurian legend, which retains its original power.
Strengths:
- Faker - Whenever a melee weapon is placed into Emiya's hand, he temporarily gains the proficiency and expertise of the weapon's creator or most well known wielder, if they are more proficient with it than Emiya himself.
- Speed - Though not able to keep up with any hedgehogs that might exist within the World of Light, Emiya's speed surpasses that of humans by allowing currents of mana to push him in his direction of choice. With this he can easily close or increase gaps with enemies and allies alike. Alongside this, his reaction and striking speeds are also heightened - more as a result of combat experience and training rather than anything else, however.
- Perceptive - Emiya's ability to perceive the world is supernatural, particularly his eyesight. With concentration, his ability to see long distances is equivalent to the scope of a sniper rifle.
Weaknesses:
- Fake - With his ability to copy others comes a price: his lack of original power. His strength relies on those around him being powerful, and even then he's unable to match the original strength of those he copies from. In that respect it could be said that there's not a single thing that is Emiya's own.
- Opportunistic - It is possible for Emiya to be swayed by others in positions of power. If pushed, he prefers to side with the team that has the highest chance of winning that simultaneously furthers his own goals. This could even go far enough to result in his alliance with villainous masterminds, if he believed them to be more competent than his current allies. Emiya can just as quickly betray even that alliance, however, resulting in somebody that many would consider to be untrustworthy.
- Self-hatred - Emiya can be emotionally intelligent when dealing with others, but becomes completely clueless when dealing with his own thoughts and feelings. All he knows is his own regrets, but doesn't know how to properly deal with them. As a result he often turns into a mass of self-hate, brimming over but not knowing how to release it. This could cause him to lose focus in battle depending on the circumstances, or even lash out at allies.
- Cautious - Emiya is cautious to a fault. He is slow to take risks and would rather be the last one in a fight to tip off his full hand even under dire circumstances. Due to this, he can often be seen as weaker than he is due to his own reluctance to take risks and accidentally expose an opening.

Kindred Spirits:
- Saber - Saber, her true name Arturia Pendragon, is a knight bound by honor to protect the weak and seek the Holy Grail: a magical wish granting device. Their relationship is rocky at best, possessing a mutual respect for one another but little further than that.
- Rin Tohsaka - Former allies in the Holy Grail War, Rin formed a pact with Emiya to win as master and servant. Things grew more complicated as they fought, but ultimately they prevailed. Due to amnesia, however, Emiya can't quite remember the complications that arose during their war.
- Gilgamesh - Known as the King of Heroes, Gilgamesh is a threat to humanity on a massive scale. Regarded as among the most powerful beings in existence due to his possession of Ea, the Sword of Rupture, he was defeated during the Holy Grail War. Despite his power, his fatal flaw is his arrogance and inability to call upon Ea against anybody he sees unfit to see it - Emiya himself being one of the top considered unworthy of it. If Emiya were to encounter him, he would have no choice but to engage him.
Inventory:
- Kanshou and Bakuya - Twin yin-yang short swords with faint magical energy. Emiya's signature weapons and his most commonly projected tools of battle. They have the ability to be thrown and returned to their wielder like boomerangs, and are naturally attracted to each other such that they may also circle and enclose around an opponent if thrown the correct way. When both are wielded in Emiya's hands at the same time, they also grant a small amount of magic resistance.
- Bow - A black bow made from a sturdy yet unknown material that is wood-like in texture and design. Using this bow, Emiya can fire magically-enhanced arrows conjured using Projection.
Name: Ace Cadet
Also Known as: Excitable A-Lister
Game Origin: Monster Hunter Series
Appearance: Whoop!
Personality: A rambunctious, enthusiastic young man who seems to have a penchant for running head first into danger. Despite this, he's actually quite good at his job! He is friendly with a sense of humor that expresses itself through puns. He isn't afraid to try something new. He tends to crush easily - and hard on pretty women, but instead of just talking to them, he goes out of his way to impress them with feats. Not exactly a brainiac, but he is resourceful and does his best work as part of a team. His goofball attitude led many to underestimate him despite his incredible prowess as a hunter of monsters.
Background: This young man was one of the youngest known Guild Knights when he was recruited into the Ace Hunters and given the title of Ace Cadet. The "Guild" being the Hunter's Guild - the largest central organization in the universe of Monster Hunter, a plane of existence in which the world is inhabited by two main groups: large, violent monsters and those that hunt them. Their goal is not to exterminate all monsters, but to enable people to live alongside them without being destroyed themselves. Not everyone in this world is cut out for hunting of course, but those that are do it very well.
The Ace Cadet was taken under the Ace Commander's wing, learning how to master multiple different weapons, hunting styles, and contraptions. Apparently, he had a great knack for it. He served as a member of the Ace Hunters with the Commander and two others: the Ace Lancer and Ace Gunner, both veterans compared to the Cadet. This team of four was a specialist group deployed for various missions on behalf of the guild, traveling to many different regions and cities in the world and gaining experience, always looking forward to the next discovery. The work of a Guild Knight was similar to that of common hunters in that they partook in large monster hunts, but they also handled a number of different responsibilities. Protecting settlements, hunting down poachers and criminals, and dedicated research into unknown phenomena were some of the tasks the Knights - and as such, the Ace Hunters - were expected to carry out.
Eventually the team meet with a caravan that had run into an unknown monster able to spread an also unknown virus. A lot of things happened! Working together with the caravan's hunter, the Ace Hunters tracked down the monster, Gore Magala, learned disturbing truths about it, protected the city of Dundorma from elder dragon attacks, and escorted the caravan hunter to her final conflict with the now adult Magala.
After these events, some time passed where the Ace Cadet seemed to grow out of his master's shadow just a little bit. He made more of a name for himself, and when the Guild asked for volunteers to travel to "The New World" on an exploration mission as a member of the Fifth Fleet, he was quick to jump at the chance. He spent another exciting time with the members of the Fleet, studying many new monsters and preventing the disastrous consequences of the dragon Zorah Magdaros reaching the inside of a location known as the Everstream. Though the hero if his journey was ultimate the Firth Fleet's Sapphire Star, the Cadet is no less optimistic about the future of his adventures. Shortly after peace in Astera, another series of strange occurrences led to the discovery of an icy island... On the morning of the Fleet's proposed trek to this island, the Ace Cadet instead awoke under Galeem's influence, in yet another "new world."
Specialty: All-Rounder
- Ace Cadet's ability to change his weapon and fighting style as needed, combined with his ability to quickly and accurately construct traps and other items, lends the hunter well to a back-up fighter that makes up for whatever his current group lacks.
Level: 1
Experience: 0/10
Powers:
- Strong Physique
- The people that choose a life of hunting monsters are enhanced humans (or other races), able to lift more weight and take more punishment than normal people. The Ace Cadet can easily heft iron great swords larger than he is, is more resistant to mortal wounds, and has a speedier recovery rate than your typical human.
Strengths:
- Team Player - Ace Cadet is more than used to working in a team, and he won't argue or pitch a fit when given directions by anyone, even someone lower ranking than himself.
- Crafty - Ace Cadet is good with his hands, and can create or combine items quickly and easily if he's been shown how to do it at least once before. His items may be made of strange ingredients, but they get the job done. Fish + berry = bullet, right?
- Adaptable - Back home, Ace Cadet was able to seamlessly switch weapons or fighting style depending on what the situation called for. There may be some initial confusion, but he is pretty quick to adapt to changes and unexpected situations which keeps him from panicking.
Weaknesses:
- Collector - Ace Cadet will absolutely stop and pick up every little shiny rock, insect or interesting item he sees. This can led to slowing groups down or even worse - getting separated.
- Show Off - Is that a pretty girl over there? If a girl is watching (or even if there isn't but he thinks the story might make it back to one), Ace Cadet will go out of his way to use flashy moves or finder larger, more dangerous prey to impress them. The consequences of this are obvious.
- Overeager - Similar to the above, though more concerned with getting himself into danger rather than escalating the already present danger. Ace Cadet will jump at the chance for adventure even before any strategy is thought out, sometimes rushing ahead of his allies or enacting a plan without any testing first.
Spirits:
- n/a
Kindred Spirits:
- Ace Commander (Monster Hunter) - Cadet's master and leader of his former team. The Commander was not the first to notice Cadet's unique ability to handle any weapon given to him, but he was the first to make use of it, recruiting him as a Guild Knight and member of the Ace Hunters. They have fought side by side many times and Cadet looks up to him.
- Primrose (Octopath Traveler) - A beautiful, mysterious woman with dark hair and a beauty mark. She reminds him of Sophia the Guildmarm, one of his hardest crushes ever. Both women aren't afraid to face monsters either, though Primrose's monsters take a much different form...
Inventory:
- Master Bang, Sword and Shield. Single slot.
- Gathering Pouch, for holding anything found in the field.
Hope you don't mind another potential new-comer so soon! I just read Oasis' sheet and kiiiiinda reconsidering my character since they fill pretty much the same role, but... maybe they might make a fun team? Let me know if there are any errors or things I should change! I tried condensing the background down as much as possible while still covering all the bases.
Rad-alos! Thank you! I've moved it over. Just letting you know I tacked on a 3rd kindred spirit in the form of the Guildmarm.
<Snipped quote by Yankee>
Actually, we've already encountered the Guildmarm in Lumbridge, so that's probably a wasted slot. Plus, I allow players to edit their kindred spirits until one of them appears in the story, so that would mean you couldn't even change the other two. Feel free to replace that kindred with another, and I'll go ahead and PM you in the meantime.
