P e r s o n a l i t yLiam has always had a hunger for adventure, having grown up moving around so often he now gets anxious when he’s been in one place for too long. One thing Liam hates, almost as much as vampires, is boredom. He has always been a thrill seeker looking for a rush of adrenalin and has very little patience for anything that’s not immediately exciting or fun. He’s got a quick temper, and enjoys a good brawl, but if the argument isn’t all that serious once he’s had a good fight, he tends to get over things pretty quickly but for more serious slights he can hold a grudge for eternity. He’s loud, confident, and friendly towards most. While he sees werewolves as far superior to humans, he doesn’t harbor any ill will towards them, most of them are quite fun to be around after all.
Becoming a werewolf and then an Alpha changed him considerably, for most of his life he’d only had to worry about himself but Liam has grown to become much more selfless. He has never questioned his loyalty to pack and fellow wolf, they immediately became more of a family to him than he’d ever had before. To those who have his loyalty and respect he would go to hell and back for, but should anyone break that trust they would likely never regain it. To those on his good side he is warm and friendly, and this demeanor carries over to most strangers as well. Those that cross him, however, are subjected to the rage and brutality of the beast within. Liam is ruthless towards his enemies especially those who threaten his pack. Mercy is not something one can show in times of war, and with werewolf existence threatened on so many fronts they are all in a constant war just to survive. Liam never sought out leadership, being an Alpha was something that was thrust upon him, but it is a responsibility he accepted, and the one thing he takes absolutely seriously. He carries the burden of every death within his pack, every loss is like the loss of a brother or sister.
Although Liam is a prideful man, when it comes to pack matters he will always listen to any input the others provide. He doesn’t believe in forcing another to his will but those who abandon the pack are not welcomed back. He believes in hard work, training, and values strength in himself and those around him but balances this with blowing off steam whenever possible. While he wants his pack strong, he also wants them happy, morale is just as important as training. Liam looks at the world with a sense of extreme optimism, believing that with enough good wolves at his side they can accomplish anything.

H i s t o r yLiam was born in the city of sin, Las Vegas, the second son to poor working mother with a father who was never in the picture. Young Liam never had a chance to really indulge in the city’s vices though, as at the age of seven his mother died of an overdose and he had his older brother were sent to live with his mother’s brother in Alaska. His uncle raised and trained sled dogs and he and Jack, his older brother by three years, had a great time exploring the forests and getting into to trouble. After about five years his uncle decided raising kids wasn’t really his thing and the two boys bounced around through the various homes of relatives that would have them until eventually, they ran out of those and ended up in foster care. Liam and Jack moved around too much to really have close friends in the various homes, so most of the time all they really had was each other. The constant changing of schools made it difficult to do well so more often than not they skipped out on going and instead entertained themselves by getting into trouble.
As a teenager Liam struggled to do well enough in school to able to graduate, not wanting to end up stuck in a life he hated, which is how he saw many of the adults around him. Jack on the other hand gave up on trying, falling into a local street gang and eventually drifting away from Liam once Jack was old enough to drop out of high school. Only a few days before his seventeenth birthday his brother died of an overdose, although in all truth Liam felt that he had lost Jack long before that. Eventually, he just barely managed to do well enough to graduate, a task that was difficult not because he lacked smarts but due to the constant shifting from school to school.
After high school Liam enlisted in the army, mostly out of boredom and a need for a change of scenery. He knew college wasn’t for him; he barely managed to graduate high school and certainly didn’t have the money nor the desire for any higher education. After four years though he was done, he quickly figured out army life wasn’t for him either, too much structure, too many rules. His time there though, was valuable, he was no longer a scrawny teen but a muscular young man and with several new skills. Ultimately, while it was exciting at times, he didn’t find whatever he was looking for in the army. From there he bounced around from city to city, until he found himself at a biker bar in Chicago. Here he stuck around for a while, bought himself a Harley and started prospecting to join the club. He liked the bikes and the illegal activity brought some needed excitement into his life.
Liam was on a long ride with the club on a poorly lit road that twisted through the woods one night when out of what seemed like nowhere one of the other guys was thrown off his bike. The funny thing was there had been nothing in the road for the guy to hit, something had sped through the woods and knocked the guy off. Something they couldn’t make out in the darkness dragged the guy screaming into the woods. Liam and the others had stopped, guns went off, and amongst the gunfire and the screams he had no idea what was going on. Then, something bit him. He could feel huge teeth digging into his skin and he tried to fight back ripping handfuls of fur from the creature before being thrown into the woods.
He woke up weak, in pain, and covered in blood. Liam found just enough strength to stagger through the woods until he found a stream but lost consciousness again before he could even drink from it. For the next five days he fell in and out of consciousness, occasionally drinking from the stream to keep himself alive. On the rare moment where he awoke lucid enough to think he couldn’t gain bearings enough to find the road. Everything hurt, he could barely stand and even if he could figure out which direction to go he doubted he could walk it. Every time he passed out he doubted he would wake back up again. Then one night he awoke to pain worse than he’d ever felt, his entire body contorted in ways he didn’t even know were possible. He screamed as he looked up at moon and to his complete horror his scream turned into a howl. He remembers the change, what it felt like, seeing himself reflected in the stream mid transformation and the unnatural hunger that sized control of him.
Liam doesn’t remember what happened after that, only that he woke up again covered in blood, but this time it was not his own. He quickly realized he was not alone in the woods. Faces he had never seen but that were, somehow, familiar to him watched. They offered him new clothes, to replace the ones lost in transformation, and water both to drink and to wash the blood from himself. His injuries from the attack he’d been though days ago were now gone, and he felt stronger and better than he’d ever felt. Liam didn’t question any of it; somehow it all felt right. Once he had dressed, their leader emerged, a man to whom he felt an overwhelming sense of loyalty despite the fact that he too was a stranger. Then Liam learned what had happened, he had been bitten by a werewolf. The pack had bitten all of the men he’d been riding with, but the other four had died, and Liam had been called by the moon to the Alpha who bit him. Within the pack he found what he had been looking for, he found where he belonged.
Liam welcomed the change, being a werewolf had made him stronger, better, and the pack became the family he never had. The pack welcomed him as well, he was a wolf now, he had been strong enough to survive and so they welcomed his addition. He stayed with this pack for the next five years, the longest home he’d ever really had, and loved every member of the pack as if they were his own blood. They trained him, taught him to control his wolf and of the dangers of their enemies; hunters, witches, and the most hated of all, vampires. Although he’d never met a vampire upon learning of their existence it was like something in him instinctively hated them. His instincts proved to be right because it was vampires that slaughtered his pack.
One dark night, as his pack gathered in the woods for a bonfire, the Alpha was shot, and fatally wounded. Gunfire shattered the usual peace of the forest, and several others were shot with silver bullets mid transformation. Chaos broke out as werewolf and vampire fought to the death. In the end three wolves were left standing, while their Alpha lay clinging desperately to life, refusing to allow himself to be killed by vampires. The Alpha made one final request of Liam, to kill him, to take up the mantle of Alpha in his place, and to not let those who survived be left without a pack. Liam carried out this final request, killing his Alpha with his own claws, and the second his eyes glowed red he felt an incredible weight transferred to his shoulders. Liam then took his oath one step further, seeking out other wolves left without pack by vampires, recruiting them and giving them a new sense of community within his own pack.
Slowly their numbers grew, and his first attack was planned. They went after the clan who had attacked his pack, ruthlessly killing every vampire involved with that clan. Although it was technically a success, many wolves lost their lives in the poorly planed attack. Liam found leadership difficult, he had never been a strategist, and although every wolf in his pack was willing to die for their cause, he felt the weight of every life lost under his command. They pressed on, replenishing numbers and expanding their cause to include those who sought vengeance against hunters and witches. His pack waged war on every enemy to werewolves, and expanded further to include humans seeking revenge against a shared enemy. He vetted those who wanted the strength to take on vampires, and those he deemed brave and loyal were bitten and welcomed into the pack, if they had the strength to survive the bite. Liam and his pack live as nomads, traveling through cities and towns seeking out their enemies.
