Ifrari watched in bemusement as the Hundi, who was either incredibly dramatic or just youthfully mercurial, straightened up to his full, considerable height. This boy didn’t have a subtle bone in his body; his over-excitement was outright conspicuous, even to those who didn’t particularly want to take note of the youth. The dark elf couldn’t help but wonder how much work it would take to restrain or redirect Rex’s boundless energy. At least the Hundi lad seemed more than willing to be instructed and listen to his fellow adventurers, which was more than Ifrari could say for some of the others.

“Alright, alright, no need to shout,” he chuckled in reply to Rex’s bellow, raising a placating hand. “Effort is a good first step,” he affirmed the other’s willingness, nodding.

The adolescent then professed he’d never been the one to choose a mission, which was very odd – had he been roped in by random parties for all his previous jobs? Rex even went so far as to proudly claim how he’d been used as a pack mule by others. Had the hapless boy been exploited for grunt work up till now? Surely, he had to have some fighting prowess. “You will not carry anyone’s things but your own this time,” Ifrari stressed, tone serious. “You’re a Sword, Rex, so I need you to be on the front lines, so to speak, alright?”

Waiting but a moment, he soon added: “Once we find the ones responsible, we’ll need to exterminate them, and they won’t just take it lying down. If there’s going to be a battle, you’ll need to be in the thick of it.” Ifrari was stating the obvious, but if Rex had misguided expectations, they needed correcting.

After that was cleared up, Ifrari addressed the purple-haired female Sword. “Alright, Sophie. If you end up picking Haesting, we’ll just coordinate later. And if it’s the orc-slaying, Nehir has joined some people over there,” the dark elf pointed to where the Nem had headed previously. Ifrari smiled impishly, taking a moment to observe if Sophie would choose to head where he’d pointed or not. The dark elf found it important to discuss the mission details and potential strategies before heading to the job location, but not all adventurers chose to do so – which, in his opinion, typically made things vexingly chaotic later.

Shrugging, he focused his attention back on Rex. “Since the lady isn’t too interested in being apologized beyond your previous…actions,” by the amusement in his tone, it was clear the over-done kneeling apology had made quite the impression on Ifrari, “there’s no need to worry about knocking into her any longer, Rex,” he reassured, chuckling lightly. Mostly, the dark elf wished to proceed to job-related matters rather than linger on the minor incident the self-confessed clumsy Hundi had caused.

“In any case, we should find which other adventurers might be considering the Haesting mission.” Ifrari looked at Rex, cocking his head to the side as he examined the youth. “Might as well make use of your height and volume,” he muttered, half to himself.

“Rex, would you be kind enough to take one of the Haesting job listings, wave it around, and ask if anyone else is interested in joining us? You can be a bit loud, but not to the point of risking anyone’s eardrums. Also, take care not to knock into anyone again,” Ifrari smirked up at Rex, blinking innocently. However, he did carefully step a few small steps away, and very casually wrapped the shawl tighter around his ears several times, gazing at the Hundi boy with raised brows and a slightly mischievous smile. Well, let’s hope this doesn’t backfire and send all decent adventurers running far, far away from us…

As Nehir spoke, Neffy's shoulders slumped ever so slightly. He wasn't...from the desert. She was really hoping he'd have been. She'd really want to get along with or meet another Nem from her homeland. She had so much she wanted to talk about! It was so difficult to actually just, talk to one of the Juyuem about it that had never been there before. Her uneasiness however, was soon washed away by the other Nem's mild seeming panic attack.

"...oh, uhm..." She refrained from laughing at his expense. He did have a rather dubious reputation, didn't he? Not that she had any personal experience. "D-don't worry...over it." It'd have been difficult to tell, but she was smiling a bit under her hood. It was decided then. The three of them would go Orc hunting. Not her first choice of job by far, but she felt at least, somewhat comfortable around these people. Nehir specifically. Melly's loudness was going to take some getting used too.

"Oh-" She flinched lightly when Melly asked about when they were departing. Had she not worked on a quest before? Or was she just a bit of an idiot? Well, it didn't matter. Inhaling, she glanced over to the counter. She could do this. She had done it before. Just...take the paper and take it over there.

"First..." Neffy pointed towards the counter where the guilds administrative staff was present."We should register ourselves as, uhm, taking the quest..." She cast a glance to the other two, hoping that they would be able to do it with minimal interference. Nehir seemed like he was good at the talking thing. Probably.

Nehir

"Nefrena is right. After we register it's just a matter of collecting some equipment and renting horses." He said, heading towards the counter. He spared a look back at his companions, taking a quick account of how well off they looked. Milly was probably fine, even if her stuffed animal looked like it had seen better days. Nefrena however...that was a harder guess. If her weapon was any indication she was sitting pretty, but Nehir knew far too many adventurers in his day who blew their earnings on the shiniest piece of new equipment and barely saving anything back. There was such a thing as over investing in yourself. "I've got enough to cover both of those by the way." He said, waving his hand to dismiss any concerns before they arose. "Though it does mean that a portion of your share goes to covering that. The Stables require we pay up front, since we're high risk clients." He continued, tapping a finger to his chin as he broke down their expenses in his head. "Milly and Raffy unfortunately are too heavy to share a horse, but me and Nefrena can do so comfortably and have some room left for the camping equipment....though we'll probably need help getting up them..." He said, more embarassed at the need for aid than the cost saving measure. When you weighed as much as someone else's armor, it kind of became inevitable that you'd be sitting in someone's lap in transit. At least this time he wouldn't be alone in the indignity.

"I can also put forward say... a weeks worth of trail rations between us, though if we stay longer it will be pay as we go. Anything else will unfortunately be a private expense....and be aware, if any other adventure's take this job that means the guild is obligated to give them an equal share. So if you do buy something for this I'd suggest being conservative." He concluded as he stepped up to the counter....rather literally. Thankfully the guild was nice enough to provide a step ladder for those too short to be seen over it normally. "Heyo~" the nem man squeaked, waving the posting in an attempt to beacon the attendant over. "We'd like to take on the orc slaying job!"

REX

For a moment, Rex watched Sophie quizzically, mulling over her words and body language. But after she was done, he chuckled. If his choices were his own, then so were hers. And by the fact that she was telling him which missions she would go on, well, Rex could interpret this only one way.

”You’re right, lil’ miss.” He turned towards Ifrari. Before they began discussing the mission, he glanced back over his shoulder, still beaming. ”Hope to see you at Haesting.”

Now, having cleared up the mishap from earlier, Rex could focus on Ifrari. Rex listened thoughtfully to everything the smaller dark elf expounded, always waiting until he was finished to reply. While it was of no difficult logic to determine that Ifrari was in some part using him, Rex was nothing but obedient. As Ifrari had guessed, Rex was no stranger to this behavior yet still especially prone to exploitation. If Ifrari sought to harness Rex’s indomitable strength and unending spirit, it would surely be a trivial task.

“Effort is the first, middle, and last step! You’re heart oughtta be in it too, Boss.” Rex responded. Judging by how he addressed Ifrari, the power dynamic among the two had already been clearly established in Ifrari’s favor.

“Course I can be a sword. I’m rank four, which is one more than two! And well, uh, you don’t get ‘round looking like me without learning to get physical…” Rex shifted to the side, eyes solemnly directed towards the ground. Immediately, he snapped back to attention. “Rest assured, Boss, I can swing this big hunk o’ metal on my back just fine.” Nodding backwards, Rex motioned towards his lengthy sword.

When Ifrari suggested that Rex go around and recruit others for the mission, the fervid Hundi was nothing less than happy to oblige. ”Sure thing, Boss. And don’t worry, I’ve learnt my lesson, I won’t stumble no more.” Ardently, he yoinked a Haesting posting from the board, reaching over those in front of him. Paper in hand, Rex turned to face the exuberant crowd.

Holding the Haesting mission to his side, Rex began away from the board -- this time, mindful of others personal space. Rex recalled the group including Sieglinde having mentioned the Haesting mission, but when he saw them now, they seemed to be engrossed in discussion. As well, they had already accumulated a sizable party. Rex winced, thinking back to other times he’s attempted to speak to established parties about jobs. It never ended well for him. He crossed them off the list of potential partners, though he didn’t expunge the possibility of them coming on the mission.

Rex then looked towards Neffy, Nehir, Mellifleur, and Raphael. Nehir and Neffy were both great candidates for partners, but… well, Mellifleur scared him. Not that he had anything against her, it was really her magic he disliked. So instead of heading over towards them, he anxiously pretended not to notice the three little individuals and single skeleton soldier. They had already decided on the orc mission regardlessly, so there was nary a point in Rex attempting to recruit them...

There was Jane and Leon and a plethora of other adventurers, but Rex, after his intellectual and nuanced deliberation, settled on the group gathered by the card table. Corrinne, Lilane, and Shir were excellent compliments to their current party which consisted of Sword and Coin.

...

TIME HAS BEEN ERASED

Rex blanked out for a moment. For some odd reason, he had an overwhelming sense of deja vu. Had he been here before...?

Well, regardless, there was still the question of their ally. Corrinne, Lilane, and Shir would be wonderful partners indeed... if it weren't for that one thing. That's right. The one reason that Rex could never ally with Corrinne and Lilane; the one reason that he had almost forgotten up to this point. The three playing cards would be left to their own devices, after all, because of that one reason, it was quite unlikely that Rex would ever interact with them -- much less recruit them as his ally.

Having scourged the room, he realized that there were very few potential allies present. So instead, he turned to Ifrari.

"Uhh... Boss? I think there's no one here to recruit no more."

Bright-eyed and brimming with a childlike mixture of excitement and anxiety, the young Paladin in training pushed open the thick wooden doors that lead to the guildhall interior. Everything about her screamed newbie, from her freshly polished, untarnished armor, to her flawless complexion, all the way to the visible, innocent aura of bubbly excitement that seemed to radiate off the young woman. Or was that holy radiance? Bah, who knew the difference anyway.

She had been sent to the guild to gain valuable experience as part of her Paladin training from the church, although this wasn't her first time here in fact. She had already been here a few times to deal with paperwork, interviews and the such. She had spoken to a few of the guild members as well, though she regretfully had already forgotten most of their names. She was sure they would come back to her if she talked to them at any rate. All that mattered was to have such formalities dealt with swiftly like this, it meant more adventure work for her! Speaking of which, she would need to work to earn her keep as an adventurer, but being a newcomer she was without a party. Should she form one? Join an existing one? Maybe go solo?

All these thoughts and more rushed through the girl's mind as she strode through the door, struggling to contain the giddiness she felt. A paladin must always keep their emotions masked, it helped keep them impartial to everything. She thought she was doing a good job of it, but the beaming grin and glistening brown eyes, framed by loose locks of red hair, she wore suggested otherwise.

Now then, what was she to do? She could see groups of adventurers off to the side everywhere she looked. Should she strike up a conversation with one of them? She would feel rude trying to barge in on a party though...hmm, maybe she should just go up to the quest board instead? If she at least pretended to be looking at quests, then someone might approach her?

The girl was tall, which coupled with her striking red hair, obviously new and well-made equipment and her shield bearing the symbol of Mayon, perhaps the most important factor, she kinda stood out like a sore thumb. And hey, who wouldn't want a Paladin in their party? Even if she was just a trainee. Nodding to herself at her, in her mind at least, ingenious plan, she took a step towards the board before suddenly whipping her head back.

That armor-clad person...seemed familiar. Ah yes, who could forget such an appearance! As in seriously, clad in armor head to toe like that was kinda impressionable. She had talked to the woman beneath the armor a couple of times when she had come in to do paperwork...what was her name again? Jennifer? No...

Jessie? No definitely not...ah that's right, John! Yep, definitely looked like a John. She seemed to be talking to someone else at the moment though, a young man around her age. Welp, guess talking to them was better than standing around like an idiot...like she was currently doing right now. Finally moved into action, the young woman approached the duo just as Jane finished speaking.

Did she just mention something about looking for people to invite? If so...

"Oh? Looking for party members? What a coincidence, so am I!" Her beaming smile only grew as she butted in on the conversation. Perhaps if she wasn't so excited, she might've tried being a little more...courteous about doing so. But as it stood, she saw a chance to do some action so now wasn't the time to be dragging her heels. "What's the quest? I would love to join you both!"

Léon Reverdin

Before Léon could reply to Jane, they were interrupted by a new arrival at their table. "Oh? Looking for party members? What a coincidence, so am I! What's the quest? I would love to join you both!" Maribel bluntly interjected.

Normally, Léon would have been slightly annoyed at this undiplomatic interruption, but it just so happened that Maribel was just the person he had in mind for this mission. He didn't know her personally, but he knew of her; this towering woman was a Paladin of Mayon, and that even the most novice paladins were very capable and well-equipped warriors with an added bonus of a repertoire of divine magic.

"Well, this is quite Serendipitous," Léon said as he turned to the new arrival. "Greetings, sister, my name is Léon Reverdin, a Cleric of Mayon from the Shrine of the Pierced Skull. I'd heard a paladin of the Church had joined the Guild, and I was actually hoping that you'd be available to join us for this quest. I think you'll find it a worthwhile cause for a fellow faithful of Mayon," he proclaimed as he gestured to the paper on the table."

With the three of them, they would be pretty solid in terms of healing, protective magic, and close combat. Léon didn't expect for a monastery to have any traps or elaborate security, so a Coin didn't seem strictly necessary for this. On the other hand, because they didn't know what sort of dangers awaited them, it'd be a good idea, he reasoned, to bring someone with skills and abilities that none of them had. Perhaps an archer or a mage, someone who could deal death at long range, and perhaps recognize early signs of danger that the three of them would otherwise overlook. Léon glanced out at the other adventurers, wondering who among them would be willing and available.

"Do either of you have any thoughts or concerns about this mission, or any ideas on who we ought to bring along as our fourth party member?" he asked the two ladies at the table.

Cassia pawed at the burlap sack of jerky being enticingly shaken around just outside of her reach, her golden eyes tracing its path as it moved up and down in Tristram's hand. A increasingly semi-distressed and possessive look creeping across her face before she finally gave up.

"I am Shir Anders, summoner of shadows and Four of Wands."

Shir shrugged as Roan left. He hadn't been terribly interested in a game with him or in taking on a quest. She eyed the cards on the table.

"Tarot?" Shir tapped her finger on the table. "And a Ithillin styled deck, isn't it more common to play with three? We use a slightly different set of rules and even a different deck in Thaln. You may have me at a disadvantage."

Shir picked up her hand and examined the cards. She rearranged them slightly.

"Have you two found any of the posted requests to be to your liking?"

Sigi looked over her right shoulder at the archer, eyes widening in confusion when he began before mostly closing as she broke into a wide smile.

"I"m sorry, Tristram. You are of course free to decline, or to go on a job by yourself. With my best wishes for your success. I just thought you had come to pick a job with us since they were being posted." Her smile never abated and she spoke with the utmost sincerity. The archer was a touchy sort. Prickly. But he wasn't necessarily wrong about everything, either, and she hadn't given him a chance to speak. "And I appreciate your tip to the butcher, and you bought it so distribution is of course your decision. Cassie will behave herself, right Cassie?"

"And drinks would be much appreciated as well, Mr. Reinheart."
She added, turning that same smile to the younger archer before she directed her attention to the board. She could get a closer look, now, and bit her lip in thought. Tristram wasn't wrong about the orc job, and she knew that they were always a problem to be dealt with. If they kept their team small enough the pay might not be too bad, either, and she had no doubt that they could handle the job. But...

The religious woman in her was really, really curious about the monastery. Cassia would like the potential for money, of course, and Tristram might enjoy the challenge. So would she come to that. But the prospect of exploring a monastery lost so long ago was appealing regardless of both of those things. Sigi didn't really want to take on escort duty, so it really would need to be one of the two. But which one?

The northern woman hummed, just a little tune she remembered from her youth. She swayed in place a little while she thought, arms crossed over her chest. Not an easy call.

"I'm not sure about the jobs, Tristram. The orcs would be fine, but if too many people go maybe we don't get paid very well. But the monastery could be profitable and intriguing, too. But riskier. Cassia? Mr. Reinheart? Any thoughts?"

Maribel Eclipse

It was as if she spoke of the devil, Maribel Eclipse entered the conversation with a request to join. Jane's heart dropped and allowed Léon to respond to her.

Jane did not even bother thinking about how to exclude Maribel from the party. It was practically guaranteed that the Mayonite Paladin was going with them. All Jane thought about now was how to not give herself away to not one, but two Mayonites for the entirety of this job. She cursed silently. How did things end up like this? She should have just flat out refused Léon. She could still, all she needed to do was spin a believable lie.

But Jane felt abandoning them now would be of bad taste and besides, either of them could suspect something and Jane could not risk that. She was all in on this job now. Hopefully, everything would go smoothly and the party can go back into being strangers.

"Do either of you have any thoughts or concerns about this mission, or any ideas on who we ought to bring along as our fourth party member?"
Léon Reverdin

Jane took a glance at the adventurers. It looked like every one of them has already joined a party and taken a job. "...I don't know who else is available." Jane remarked honestly. Conveniently, it was also a way to keep the party from expanding.

Guild Staff

The girl who came to answer Nehir's attention fit a mould quite common amongst the guild staff: young, hair--in her case a strange pale green--in a bob, and from what could be seen over the counter wearing a grey jacket with its own little capelet over a ruffled blouse. She was also, going by the slight point to her ears, presumably half-elven, and considerably more off-balance than your average clerk; stumbling slightly as she got into position and coming dangerously close to smothering the nem before she straightened up professionally.

"The three of you will be all?" she asked, doing the first necessary check--that there weren't more people ready to take the job. It was always awkward if too many tried to do one task; out of courtesy to avoid the client's pay being split too far and to prevent competition between their own adventurers, most jobs were sharply limited in how many could register before the notice would be taken down. Of course, if everyone died, it would go back up... with a commensurate increase in difficulty. "Your names and ranks?"

To have the staff actually remember your name was generally either a sign of great success, alarming failure, or unusual circumstances.

Ifrari drew several conclusions from Rex’s replies. One, he was an effort maniac. Two, the Hundi recognized him as his superior, which was fine by Ifrari. Three…He didn’t know how to count. That would have to be remedied at some point, but in the meantime, the dark elf thought keeping an eye on Rex so he didn’t get swindled out of his money was a good idea. If the Hundi even had money. Ifrari was somewhat doubtful.

The dark elf observed as the Hundi followed his directives, pleasantly surprised by the care Rex took. Against his expectations, he didn’t shout that they needed people – which was for the best, though it might have been entertaining to see – but instead looked from group to group, attempting to find any stragglers. He came to the same conclusion as Ifrari; besides Sophie, who was yet undecided, the rest of the adventurers were already grouped and discussing with their own teammates which job to take.

Ifrari nodded at the youth’s report. “Right you are, Rex. Thank you. I didn’t think you could be so attentive,” he admitted. “It was a good idea to try and find solo adventurers. Since we’ve already asked the only one by herself so far, let’s just sign up on our own. If any of the groups take the same mission, we’ll meet up with them later,” he concluded.

That said, Ifrari turned on his heel and headed towards the nearest counter, beckoning Rex to follow him. Once an attendant was free to take their request, Ifrari nodded curtly with a cheerful, “Hello!” Gesturing to himself and Rex, he continued, “We’re here to take care of the disappearances near Haesting. I’m Ifrari, 5 of Coins, and this is Rex, 4 of Swords,” he introduced. “If any other adventurers have taken the request, we’d like to know who, so as to more easily coordinate with them,” he requested politely.

“If we’re the only ones so far, feel free to direct any who sign up later to us – we’ll come back to the hall in an hour or so to check,” he added, wondering if the attendant would bother to do so much. “By the way, do you have a more detailed, local map of Haesting and the route where the disappearances have occurred? It could come in handy.” Ifrari leaned on the counter, focused fully on the guild employee as he waited for what information they could give to him.

Finn raised his eyebrow as the guy snapped at Cassia for eating with his mouth open. While he indeed hate it himself, he wouldn’t be rude about it. Tristram then went on explaining how he could have been busy. Which he then suddenly switched topics about which job they should do. Which caused Finn to roll his eyes. Come on dude. Don’t make a gripe about nothing when you really didn’t have anything keeping you from joining.

He explained he wanted to kick back (stay far away from danger) while killing orcs. He sighed. While he didn’t mind either of those jobs. He looked towards the board to see that the Orc job was already taken down, snatched by someone. There also seemed to be people eyeing the Haestings job as well. He glanced back to Tristram as he then started bouncing a bag in his hands for attention. Which surely got Cassia’s, as she tried to go for it. The girl loved to eat that's for sure.

He sighed again, surely this guy was a power hungry self centered prick. He didn’t understand how these two ladies put up with him. Raising an eyebrow. ”You be incharge of food? Yeah no thanks, I'll bring my own rations. Besides I rather get some fresh meat during the trip than survive on jerky alone. “

Sigi looked over to Tristram and spoke up, being more diplomatic than he would have been. Also explaining he bought the jerky so it was his choice on rationing. Saying Cassia would behave herself. Which put a smile on his face. The way she acted to it he didn’t expect her to have much control over her desire for food.

After she looked at him and told him drinks would be appreciated he smiled. It’s only fair for the new guy to get the first round.. He said quickly. Looking back to the board when Sigi did. He honestly didn’t care which job they did, one who did only the jobs they thought they would be good at couldn’t grow. The more challenging the better in his opinion. He glanced back to see her swaying to a tune she was humming to herself. She then spoke up suddenly. Offering her idea. Perking up when she then turned to him and asked for his and Cassia’s opinion. Grimacing when she called him Mr. Reinheart for the third time.

Raising a hand as if to stop her he spoke up.Please, Mr. Reinheart is too formal for me. You guys can just call me Finn. His hand turned into a fist as he jerked his thumb over to the counter where Nehr was. ”Orc’s are always a good challenge. But it would seem it’s a popular one. Nehr already snagged it. He paused as he heard Haestings as well from a Darkelf nearby. And haestings is being signed up for right now. I’m always down for beating the shit out of bandits. But if you guys want to make money I would agree with Ms. Driessen. The monastery would be a good one ...

Looking to Tristram he smirked.”Probably not for you. I know you like to keep your distance from your opponents. I don’t know how well you will do underground in a cramped area. But upside there are a ton of shadows for you to hide in.”

He held the pouch high above his head, framing his free hand against Cassia's brow in an impenetrable stiffarm until she stopped her usual routine of swiping at the food in front of her. That arm had spent sixteen years as a rock upon which his bow was mounted— it held steady in the face of any attack, just as his nerve.

gib, she said with her golden eyes beneath either side of his palm.

"Not happening." came the stern, level rebuke. She'd tear through half of it in a second, Sieglinde's reassurances or no. One of these days, he'd be able to beat the concept of rationing into her skull, but it probably wasn't today.

As he did so, and as her attempts grew feebler and feebler, the hood slowly canvassed the room, starting at the grumbling half-elf and, eventually, working its way to the job board.

Works. If he can handle his own food, that's less I'm covering for with this tornado in the mix. I just hope she doesn't trick him into "sharing".

For all the massive chip on his shoulder, the manlet had a point once he'd continued— an enterprising Nem had already swiped the Orc slaying posting during their deliberation, and was in the midst of declaring his party. They'd really gotten bogged down with either enabling eachother or making a go at rations before the portions had even been set— the fun truly never ended with these problem children. To add to it, between the lack of information regarding Haesting and its increasing popularity...

Yeah, the thought of bonuses was getting more alluring. A flat rate split amongst multiple groups was edging outside of opportunity cost thresholds that he had hardlined when starting adventuring. It was to go the way of the merchant caravan. In the bin! Into the bin with it, get 'em outta here!

"Mm." he vocalised simply, retrieving his arm from Cass's face and lowering the bag of jerky. "Runt's right: at this rate, it's any port in a storm. We'll grab it and make it work."

He walked forward with calm, swift strides, intent on not being overshot again.

So long as his darks were ready to go, shadows would be just fine. Additionally so if this Monastery was constructed with those nice high columns and archways...

Rafters would be a treat.

Oh? So rumors of her arrival had already spread throughout the guild? It wasn't surprising seeing as a Paladin was something of big news, but she didn't think that she herself deserved anything special like that. That made things a little easier, especially seeing as the man before her, Leon, was also from the church of Mayon! What a coincidence indeed! He must be a cleric or maybe a priest, something of that sort judging by his attire. "It's a pleasure to meet you, a fellow Mayonite, as well, Leon. Mayon herself must've guided us to meet this day." Her beaming smile returned as she went to look down at the paper before suddenly her smile was wiped as a realization hit her.

"Oh dear, I must apologize for my disgraceful manner! I got so excited that I forgot to introduce myself properly...er despite the fact you probably already seem to know, I go by the name Maribel Eclipse. As your adventuring junior, I do hope you can excuse my lack of experience in such a field...and um, a pleasure to meet you both!" Bowing her head respectfully towards the duo, she finally allowed herself to look over the sheet of paper on the table.

So they were to go to an abandoned monastery and recover relics? She had simplified it in her mind, but it really was 'as simple' as that really. There sounded like there was danger, but that was also the perfect test of her otherwise untested skills wasn't it! Ah, just the thought of her first adventure brought the smile back to her features.

At the mention of additional party members though...

"I, unfortunately, do not know any of these adventurers actually so...um..." She paused and looked around. Was there anyone free to join them anyway? John here didn't seem to think so, and she seemed to have been here long enough to know these things. Maribel thought so at any rate.

"I'm sure that between us three, we can handle anything at any rate! If not...uh we can make it work!" Ah, her optimism and naivety knew no bounds.

Mellifleur

The Terms had all been agreeable, in fact this would still be profitable even with all the splits and the costs of travel covered. Mellifleur had been quiet for the moment for the moment, save the audible clunk of her hitting her head against the plated armour of Raphael because she had misjudged distance as she had followed the Nem over. Rubbing her temple Mellifleur gave an exhale of slight frustration. Before she put both hands on her hips looking straight at the guild staff.

"Mellifleur Lily Alexandria" She said beaming, trying to puff her chest out to look bigger and more grand in her mannerism. In reality she looked like a toad that was trying to ward off predators. "Don't forget to sign down Raphael too." She said pointing to the towered man in armour next to her. "He likes to be included." She said maintaing that uplifted look on her face as she looked back at her two party members. "Even if he is a little shy." She whispered to both the Nem.

Nehir wasn't saying anything she already hadn't considered herself. Being as somewhat overly cautious as she was, she tended to make sure she had everything in order before doing it. It also meant that sometimes she got so overly anxious that she ended up forgetting something super important, but that was a rare occasion.

"uhm, you er, don't have to worry about ahz." Neffy stuttered out waving her hands in front of her in a mildly comical manner. "Ah have erm, plenty of money and Ah can handle myself w-well enough...er..." She wasn't going to say she got most of her funds through small acts of thievery here and there outside of normal jobs. "N-not that ah wouldn't mind you purchasing stuff, Ah, erm...just uhm..." Thankfully the clerk gave her an out before she tripped over her words into a pit she couldn't climb out of.

"...uhm...Nefrena Iseueret." She responded to the clerk quietly. "...five of coins..." Good thing her face was almost completely obscured by her hood. Goodness. That went well. She cast a glance towards their other companion. Was he not a member of the guild? He was oddly quiet and did seem somewhat odd, but she didn't think too much of it.

Nehir

"Nehir Rasim, Five of Wands!" He said after leaning back a bit to dodge any further unintentional attempt at smothering him on the clerks part. He hardly seemed phased by it, probably because it happened more than he liked to admit. When your standing height was at almost crotch level with the average human, you kind of got used to avoiding assaults from unwanted body parts. "Miss Alexandria is also a six of cups." He added after the cleric in question introduce herself.

"And the big fellow...I do not believe is ranked." He chirpped after Milli whispered to the both of the nem. "Though as I understand he will be acting as Miss Alexandria's attendant. "

Counter Clerk One: Orc Mission

"Yes, Raphael is... noted," the girl said with an air of nervousness. Obviously, the administration side of the guild needed to have an accurate idea of someone's abilities to assess their rank, which tended to filter down to the counter staff--especially anyone whose rank involved a bodyguard of some type. Not that there was anything explicitly against the rules when it came to acquiring external help, but there had been one or two incidents in the past of an adventurer-turned-mercenary trying to muscle in on too many of the jobs without registering and incurring the extra fees. Really, Mellifleur wasn't even the guild's most notable necromancer.

It was possible that the half-elf just found the large armoured knight scary on his own account.

"Everything seems to be in order. We at the guild would like to remind you that counting bounties by bringing in heads has been against regulations since the Biting Incident, and wish you luck on your tasks."

Counter Clerk Two: Missing People

The girl answering Ifrari seemed slightly confused--and far more average than her half-elven counterpart, being both fully human and a brunette. "Ah... I'm afraid that there are no detailed maps of a usable scale. From the patrols sent out from the capital when this first started, we can only confirm that the road immediately out of the capital is safe past the fork to Walverrest. We think that whatever is responsible must be operating in the Haesting Barrens, but..."

That still left most of the area between the two cities; between the numerous caves and ruins amongst the rolling hills, there were a lot of places something could be hiding. Unless it was a monstrous sheep, it was unlikely to be hidden in plain sight.

Léon Reverdin

Maribel seemed to be fairly enthusiastic about the adventure that Léon had chosen, although her manner suggested that she'd probably be happy with any quest. Jane, however, didn't seem to share the Mayonites' eagerness, although from what little she spoke, Léon wasn't sure if she was shy or just apprehensive. Léon didn't worry too much about her- it was normal for some people to get nervous before going on a mission, moreso when, like this one, the risk involved wasn't entirely clear.

I should keep an eye out in case their contrasting attitudes threaten to cause any tension.

"I suppose I'd should speak to one of the guild clerks to formalize it," he spoke to to to two ladies, grabbing the paper and rising out of his chair. "The three of us should be enough, so long as we properly prepare." It was a slight disappointment that it looked like they weren't going to get a fourth taker for their group, but between the three of them, they ought to be fairly well-off in terms of martial ability. Léon was unsure to what degree of magical power Maribel had, but even a newly ordained Paladin of Mayon would have some restorative and protective magic.

The cleric strode over to one of the clerks and placed the paper on the counter. "Good morning. Jane, Maribel, and myself would like to take this job, to recover artifacts from the monastery. Is it alright to take this job with just three members? And I don't suppose the Church left the Guild any other details regarding this mission? You know, any background of the monastery, the general risk of the region it's situated in, and if they're looking for something in particular."
