Species: Dullahan -- a form of Undead who appear rather Human at first glance, but are actually able to detach their head as they please. Think Headless Horseman.

Physical Abilities / Skills: She is capable of detaching and reattaching her head at will. She has greater strength than any human, and seemingly endless stamina. She also does not require sustenance to survive, but sometimes eats just ‘cause. Additionally, she has a slow yet effective regenerating property, and is able to reattach limbs if they are severed. Y’know, all the normal facets of being Undead.

Magical Style: During her short time as a Dullahan, Katalynn has discovered that she has an affinity for Dispelling and Anti-magics -- though only when she accompanies them with oft-complicated hand signatures. She is also capable of utilizing runes and similar techniques, but she has very modest training on the subject.

Magical Quirks: Her magic will usually fizzle if her head is detached, due to lack of coordination. Also, she possesses all the pros and cons of being a magical Undead being.

Magical Skills, Hobbies and Interests: Katalynn is not well versed in magic, and hence does not have many hobbies involving it - but she is excited to learn of the large expanse of possibilities. Notably, she has a very steady hand for quick runecrafting.

Why are they enrolled in Fae Creek Academy?: It’s the first academy she has discovered, and she wouldn’t really know the difference if she were given another option. Also, Mother suggested it.

Personality: Katalynn is generally a rather unobtrusive individual, though this is not always true - she is also quite inquisitive, which can overtake her more reserved nature at times; this inquisitiveness seemingly stems from her unfamiliarity with the modern world. Contrarily, she also occasionally exhibits sarcastic tendencies, both to those she likes and those she doesn’t(whom are admittedly few). She also seems easily abashed despite this playfully abrasive behavior. Interestingly, Katalynn’s body has shown to take on a more mischievous personality of its own when detached from the head.

Backstory: Not much of Katalynn’s backstory is known - virtually none, actually. One day, Kat found herself lying face-up in a puddle of muddy rainwater. She remembered nothing - no family, friends, or even her own name. All she knew was that she could, for some reason, detach her own head and survive. Some time after, she happened to come across a woman who sheltered her despite her apparent affliction. She recognized the young Kat as a freshly awoken Dullahan, and took her under her wing. She also recognized that the girl is in no way familiar with our world - cars, planes, and even electricity are unknown phenomena to her.

It has been almost a year or so since Katalynn has come under the care of the woman, and has come to know her as “Mother”, despite no true relation. Mother has recently decided to send the girl to a local academy - she could use the interaction and the learning.

General Skills, Hobbies and Interests: Katalynn has taken up only a few interests in her short time awake, though she has a curiosity for many things. She has taken a certain liking to medieval-themed media and movies, mostly enjoying the courageous sword-fighting depicted in such media. She also enjoys the company of animals and tending to their affection-needs, but they often do not return the sentiment. She also enjoys reading - and asking many questions. She has found herself amazed by how many things this world has to entertain oneself, and enjoys exploring and playing “pranks”.
