"Welcome! Class of 4997" an overly colorful banner announced, surrounded by balloons. This was happening at one of the main gardens, a suitable place for the welcome event to the students, where they would meet up, get to know each other and some teachers and even get to eat some snacks for free.

Droxl hummed as he continued to bind the balloons to ropes with his big lizard claws.

"Don't you think its a bit too garish, Droxl?" Prof. Celia Reed questioned, sitting on the grass, eating a cup cake while observing the Director in his work.

THE MORE COLORFUL THE MORE CHEERFUL THE PARTY. I SAW IT IN MY HATCHLINGS' CEREMONY!"

"This is an academy, they are not children..." The Sphinx added.

"Ya sure love to complain for a cat which is doing nothing but sit around and eat the kid's snacks. Leave Droxl alone." Prof. Potira said to Celia as she reached down and picked a few loose balloons.

"And what are you doing to help, my plantae friend?" she asked while adjusting her glasses.

"Important work." the plant girl said, while picking up the spare balloons and throwing them at Prof. Cyrus, the Magi's electric field making it so the globes would stick to him.

"Cease it! Cease it I say! Or I shall leave this meet up at this instant!" the Luddite teacher complained, trying to slap the balloons away.

The only other teacher who was around to greet the students was Prof. Thalis. who was working on the snack table, making sure everything was symmetrical and following a color pallet. "Hmm... Yes. I think this is enough. Or maybe... turning this cake a bit would help the symmetry..."

For all of their shortcomings, the welcome party did look pleasant. And soon enough, the students would start to arrive.

Admissions Officer Interviews

Eira Lindr and Adara, were capable of submitting an application and following the instructions.

To say that the admissions officer was exhausted would be the understatement of the century. The previous day had been bad, even for someone in his line of work. All he needed to do was look around his office to find ample evidence of that. First there was the missing door. Then there was the gaping hole in the wall where what he assumed was a Wyvern of some kind had burst in to deliver its master’s admission form. And then there was the carpet… He didn’t even want to think about the carpet…

Yes, the previous day had been so hellishly traumatic that he couldn’t manage to get even a single hour’s sleep without being beset by nightmares of flaming guinea pigs stabbing him repeatedly, before hopping on an iceberg and riding it into the maw of a moon with a demented girl’s face. And now today had begun with an admissions form being handed to him by a slimy tentacle reaching out from a portal, which had formed inside his outer ear… This had been followed by a glimmer of hope (that most fiendish of all instruments of torture), in the form of a polite and highly accomplished scion of a well-respected family appearing before him. Of course, it was obviously too good to be true, and, sure enough, he was completely incapable of performing magic… And then there was that apple which had just now materialized on his desk…

Oh, well, he thought to himself with a weary sigh, time to see what wonderful traumas the next applicant has to inflict…

Daria

Daria had been on campus for some time, wandering the area as she continued to carve with her knife after a successful interview. She had received a sheet of instructions, but they were entirely useless to her and had been discarded. While she couldn't read the instructions though, she was capable of smelling what seemed like some decently tasty treats. The moment her leopard ears confirmed from the sound of distant voices that this was in fact intended for them, Daria set off towards her prey. There was hunting to do.

She arrived at a circle of tables with some sort of banner hung above with entirely indiscernible symbolism and a gathering of the world's strangest adults who seemed to be bickering with each other. It'd probably be best to ignore them. Daria headed to the table with the meatiest snacks (she didn't recognize them) and wordlessly passed judgement on the flavor. Mediocre but edible. Still, it was better than nothing and with a dissatisfied expression the pink-haired tribeswoman swallowed another one, keeping her words to herself as she chewed.

Helena

After her interview, Helena had stuck around, looking around campus for any quiet places she could use to rest and read books in peace for when she'd start studying here. The young girl valued her reading time, so to her, finding quiet places was important.

Her quest for relaxing spots was interrupted, however, when her ears picked up mentions of a welcome party. That was bound to be a noisy place, but there would likely also be snacks there, and snacks were always nice. And so, Helena postponed her quest, and instead made her way to said welcome party.

The party seemed to still be in the process of warming up when Helena arrived, with not many students around yet. She saw some teachers - at least, she assumed they were teachers - arguing with eachother, and for a brief moment Helena wondered if this was normal. Then, however, she got distracted. By food.

Heading over to the table with the sweetest looking snacks, Helena sampled a few of the treats, looking around at the arriving students as she retreated to a quieter corner afterwards, finishing the snacks she'd grabbed as simply looks around at the party.

Feier

Feier had no idea what to do after her interview. She decided to wander around campus out of boredom, hoping to find people to talk to. Unfortunately for her, the school was a bit empty and whoever she walked past flat-out ignored her. She would’ve lost all hope if she didn’t remember that she was given a sheet of instructions after the interview, and only remembered it after the crumpled-up piece of paper fell out of her pocket.

She quickly skimmed over the sheet. One thing that stood out to her were the words ‘welcome’ and ‘party,’ and it just so happened that the room for the welcome party wasn’t too far from where she was now. Even though the girl had been wandering around aimlessly, she was still good at keeping track of her surroundings. This combined with the sudden noises she heard made it easy for her to make her way over to the welcome party area.

The first thing she had noticed wasn’t the overly-decorated banner saying “Welcome! Class of 4997,” nor was it the group of adults arguing with each other or even the students. No, the first thing Feier laid her eyes on were the cookies. She made her way to the sweets, grabbed two of them, and then looked around her. Most of the noise in the garden was from the adults talking with each other. There were a handful of students already sitting down, but two of them caught Feier’s eye, and they both happened to have cat ears. One had pink hair and a tail and the other was a brunette.

As Feier walked around, she realized that she recognized the brunette from somewhere. She thought back to her interview and realized she’d seen several faces when walking out of the interview and wandering around. Her eyes drifted back over to the pink-haired girl. Another person she recognized from earlier today. Feier made a mental note to try and introduce herself to every person who she remembered from before.

She looked towards the brown-haired cat-girl and noticed that she was sitting a bit further away from the other students. That alone was enough for the fire mage to decide on introducing herself to the brunette first. Making sure not to forget her cookies, she headed over towards the other girl and sat beside her. Feier had approached her from the side, and might’ve been able to catch the other by surprise. Nonetheless, she made her introduction.

“Hi,” she said, offering the other a smile she’d hoped was inviting, “I’m Feier. What’s your name?”

Helena

Helena's quiet was suddenly interrupted as she was made aware that someone was sitting next to her by that person greeting her. Taking a moment to look the girl over - she was a bit taller than Helena, with brown hair and green eyes. She looked friendly enough, and the smile was enough to convince Helena to stay and talk.

Smiling back, the ice mage turned to properly face the girl. "Hello, my name's Helena. Are you a new student too?" Helena asked quietly, though her voice was fortunately still audible as the party hadn't gotten noisy yet. Her ears twitched slightly as she noticed the cookies, and she briefly glanced around to see where Feier could've gotten those before returning her attention to the girl.

"I didn't see the cookies when I came in, are they any good? I'll need to try them myself soon."

Reagan Gideon Breckenridge

When he was done with the admissions officer – and hadn’t that been fun? – Reagan took to exploring the academy’s grounds, getting a feel of the layout and memorizing some convenient locations he could displace himself to. By the time he’d made it to the party that had been advertised to them, a few students had already gathered at the snacks table. What drew Ray’s attention, however, were the teacher’s antics. A dryad was chucking balloons at some guy, and they just stuck to him, which caused the guy to shriek in outrage. Ray covered his mouth with a palm and giggled near-silently at the poor flustered professor.

Strolling to the plant woman, he whispered, “Hey, teach, watch this,” and after takin a few seconds to scan his target and the selected ‘weapons’, enacted his plan. Multiple delayed displacements, easy peasy, Ray grinned, and with a twitch of his fingers, a shadowy portal swallowed three of the smallest balloon clusters. A second later, they reappeared right next to the human professor with a poof of smoke, gently bumping into his torso, the side of his face, head, and limbs, leaving more surface of him covered than not. He barely had room enough to breathe, part of his mouth was obstructed, and only one eye was free enough to glare fiercely at the gathering.

“What is this sorcery?!” he squawked. He was probably genuinely wondering who’d done this to him, and how exactly, but the turn of the phrase was quite the unfortunate one.

“Pfft,” the dryad smirked. “Not bad, kid,” the lady of vines gave him a once over, before looking back at the riotous sight of Professor Cyrus with appreciation. “Minus points for stealing my only source of entertainment though,” she pouted. “He’ll really leave at this rate,” she muttered with a disappointed sigh.

“That would be a shame, he looks like loads of fun to keep around,” Ray replied, undeniable amused. “Maybe y’all can convince him,” he winked at the assembly of bored or semi-occupied professors, and left for the refreshment table. Reagan situated himself so he had a prime position to watch his prank victim still struggling to peel the balloons off his body. This guy is just too easy. Perfect for destressing. The lizard man was already helping the human professor remove the balloons, though more so for the sake of the decorations rather than to help relieve his colleague, Ray thought, the youth’s demeanour still blatantly self-satisfied.

The teenager delicately picked up a muffin, eating it neatly as he observed the goings-on. The chocolate muffin was dry and lacking in sugar content. Ray wrinkled his nose. Ugh, low quality food, this’ll be one of the many inconveniences of this place. Oh well, he sighed, and took a rum ball next, which was marginally better. As the professors’ shenanigans weren’t getting any interesting developments at the moment, Reagan’s redirected his focus to the three female students grazing at – or in the case of the pink-haired one, devouring – the food. Two were cat-folk, and the third…Oh? Reagan cocked his head to the side, a pleased smile spreading across his face. This year just got a 100% better. He didn’t immediately express his eagerness to meet up with Feier, however.

“Hey, guys, I’m Ray,” he introduced himself with a grin. “So, does anyone else find this fodder totally deplorable or is that just me?” he asked, tone and expression full of levity, though he was genuinely wondering. “I bet I could whip up something better,” he stated confidently. “Whoever baked this,” he sighed, and shook his head, “I kinda pity them, ya know? Though it’s really us right now that have to bear with their lack of skill,” he snorted, but nonetheless placed a roll cake on a plastic platter and proceeded to fork it into small pieces, which he ate thoughtfully.

Gertrude made her way into the party, feeling kind of nervous. She'd been around crowds before, but it was always a little creepy. People staring at her because of her powers, or begging her to resurrect a loved one, or heal a plague. The girl took a seat over in a corner, away from the refreshments. One of her miracles was the fact that she never needed to eat or drink, faith alone sustained her. Food was just a temptation she didn't need.

"Hi there," she said in a surprisingly small, weak voice. Clearly, shyness was a problem for her.

They had him at 'Welcome Party'. For all of his distaste having to go to a second rate - no, third rate - magic school, it didn't seem all that bad. He hadn't spent all that much time looking around, to be fair. He'd just glanced over the sheet, promptly ignored the entire thing except for where it had said party, read the relevant sections and shoved it into his pocket where it could either fall out or at least never be seen again. They'd had something similar at the Institute, a great party within the first week, a grand one with no expense spared, and he'd made a right fool of himself. Someone had mentioned offhandedly how funny it would have been if someone spiked the drinks and well, he hadn't done it, but someone else had and the memories stopped right about there.

So this was a new school. A new start. New people. No more getting in trouble. It wasn't like it was his fault, he had to practice somehow and that was just how curses worked. Honestly. whoever was in charge of discipline at the Institute needed to sort themselves out.

Soon, August arrived, and glanced around quickly. The party itself was... quaint. A few people had gotten in before him, but not that many. A few seemed familiar, but it was in that uncanny way that they probably just looked similar to people he'd met at some point. One looked kind of looked like Reagan Breckenridge from the Institute if Reagan Breckenridge from the Institute was a demon. He wondered what had happened to the guy. August hadn't really kept up with anything to do with the institute once he was gone. It made him sad to think about.

Like any other person with their priorities would, he immediately made his way over to the snack table with the bewildered professor standing behind it. August gave him a small smile in greeting, but it didn't seem like he noticed.

"...symmetrical, but..."

Presentation was always important. That made sense. To help, August picked up the snacks on the opposite sides to the ones that students had already taken to keep it even. If he'd accidentally knocked a few others out of place in the process, then who could blame him? Satisfied with his haul, August stepped back from the table. Everyone else seemed to have congregated in a group, so he resolved to just wait for someone else to come along and ambush them into conversation. He popped a cookie into his mouth, looking around with a vacant expression, until he started choking violently.

That black haired girl, now he could see her face better, bore a striking resemblance to the one responsible for the science wing fire. Cousins, he thought to himself. They must be cousins. They had to be.

Astaroth, Taker of Souls, Lord Above All, Master of the 8th Underworld Legion

〜♡ AJ ♡〜

Breathe. Just breathe. It's all going to be okay.

AJ groaned and held his head in his hands. It was not going to be okay. It was the first day of the new year and he'd already been screwed over by his mother. First, when he had tried to explore the area, she had pestered him over and over again to stake it as his own. Next, when he'd tried to say hi to some female students, she had proclaimed that he was the best man they'd ever lay eyes upon. It would have been bad enough if they'd walked off, but they hadn't! The girls had crowded around him telling him that it would be okay, that the first day was always hard, that he'd soon love the place like home, and that his wonderful tiny summoned creature was oh-so-cute.

That was right. His wonderful, tiny mom. AJ had inscribed a summoning circle on the back of his left hand when he was eight- a stroke of original genius. He would be able to summon creatures anywhere without having to draw the full ritual!

Just his luck that his mother would be able to pop out of it at any time. Not at full size, no, but as a tiny miniature sex idol attached literally to him by the wrist. He'd explained her presence as a magical experiment, then ran off, embarrassed. Luckily, he'd located some bandages and managed to wrap his left hand, which had cut the connection.

It was his stupid aura. The one he'd inherited from his mother- but instead of making him more desirable to those around him, it just made them treat him like a small child that needed to be protected. He'd never been able to turn it off. Now it was ruining his new school life.

He made his way to the welcoming party and brightened up. It wasn't that bad at all! He'd been expecting a table stocked with watered-down lemonade and stale bread. Instead, there were treats and some actual drinks.

As he entered the room, he remembered his mother's words.

"Ahem," he squeaked. "I, AJ Underfoot, proclaim that all..."

Nobody bade him a second glance. AJ blushed, then took a deep breath. That was okay. If nobody had noticed him, then he could try again. As he mustered up the courage to properly command those present to bend to his will, one of the students nearby began to choke on his food. He rushed over and delivered a smack to the student's back with all the force he could muster. His hand bounced back, aching slightly.

"Are you okay? Do you need help? He asked.

Yon

"Huhuhum! Huhuhum!" Yon hummed as she explored the large teaching facility, not many students around since the year was just starting. With her arms open wide, she walked in a strange manner and with an unnatural lightness to her step even if the girl already had a small frame. Instead of taking the main paths, she often decided to jump from balcony to balcony, which somehow worked, until it didn't. Overshooting, she went from one of the teaching areas straight down to the garden, landing in the vicinity of the welcome party.

"Oh! Its tea time?" she questioned, walking into the area that to her was quite crowded, it was filled with all sort of strange beings she didn't quite know.

She looked towards the snack table, big eats twitching, there was a lot of edible stuff there, but she already had eaten some stuff while she was exploring so she wasn't really hungry anymore. Which didn't mean she didn't feel like biting something, she happened to observe Helena's tail and was slowly becoming entranced, slowly approaching it with an intent to nibble.

"Hi there," a voice suddenly said, making the lunarian forget the tail and look to the side, now facing the shining saint. "Hello shiny lady. Are you a solarian? I hope not..."

@blackdragon

The teaching staff

The teaching staff had taken notice of the students, but somehow, was so far still quite a bit distant. Droxl was too busy taking the last few balloons out of Cyrus. Celia Reed seemed unnamed as she looked at the crowd over and over, not seeing so far anything that looked interesting, even the weird types like Yon and Reagan didn't seem to spike a reaction.

Potira would notice the choking young male. "Ah, Droxl made something just for this type situation, I think I have it somewhere." she said, but whatever it was, it was likely not the best solution to the issue. Indeed, she would take out a metallic glove with what looked like some sort of propulsion system, handing it to AJ. "Here, that should shake him good."

Daria
Location: Welcome Party
Interations: @SilverPaw@Cotton@xia

Daria the Leopardess enjoyed her lone snack chewing for only a short time. Soon enough other students started to filter in. While the next student was also a food-loving catgirl who also silently gorged on the provided food her pink ears soon began to pick up on all sorts of conversation. Some glowing person too shy to talk, someone choking on food and others rushing to aid them, but her eyes glowered at someone who burst into the party, started firing portals around, and said some rather rude shit.

Feier, Reagan, and Helena would see what seemed to be some sort of barbarian warrior in well-kempt clothes, pink hair tied in a ponytail, and a axe and knife at her hip approach with a tail that swept back and forth behind her as if she was preparing to pounce.

She soon stopped about six inches away from Reagan, tail still swishing behind her. The two were about of equal height and Daria's slit pupils stared assertively straight at Reagan, not seeming bothered by their proximity. "There may be better. But most rocks at least have the social grace to not insult free food." Daria's voice was even and cold as words began to leave her mouth. "I kinda pity you, ya know? Though its these poor girls who had to bear with your observations." She paused. "Though perhaps I should pity your fragile constitution that can't even handle a mediocre taste, and whatever poor girl is forced to live with that instead?"

“They are,” Feier responded, noticing she still had another cookie. “You can have this one, if you want.” Her hand reached out to give it to Helena, but her gaze was averted to a boy who had come in using portals. She noticed that he looked quite familiar, and suspected it was someone she knew, but decided against it out of disbelief. Maybe it was...

“Hey, guys, I’m Ray. So, does anyone else find this fodder totally deplorable or is that just me? I bet I could whip up something better. Whoever baked this, I kinda pity them, ya know? Though it’s really us right now that have to bear with their lack of skill.”

Nope. Definitely Ray. He could’ve skipped the introduction and there still wouldn’t be a doubt in Feier’s mind as to who he was. She felt comforted by there being at least one person she was friends with here, but noticed that he was barely at the party for more than a few minutes and was already starting something. The pink-haired girl was quick to stand up and confront the boy. While she had a point, Feier would prefer for such a thing to not be happening before the first day of school even happened.

“Hi, Ray,” she waved at her friend with her free hand, the other still out towards Helena. “I think the two of you should sit down and start over. Like, maybe a hello?” She’d hoped to de-escalate the situation. Knowing her friend, it probably wouldn’t work.

Kate

Kate strolled into the garden with her trademark easy smile, and her camera around her neck. Although the Welcome Party had clearly already gotten underway, Kate liked to think of herself as being "fashionably late." Indeed, her late arrival certainly had its advantages. In particular, she could get far more info about the goings on than if she had been the first to arrive.

A number of students and teachers mingled about, but Kate's attention was immediately drawn to the professor nearly covered with balloons and his fellow lizardfolk professor who was trying to remove them.

Giggling, she snapped a picture of the amusing scene.

There was also a pleasingly large spread of food, but, knowing Fae Creek, there was a good chance that the quality of the offerings on display would be highly suspect, a chance that was confirmed by the sight of one of the new students choking on what appeared to be a cookie.

"Guess cookies are off the menu," Kate chuckled and snapped another picture.

Making her way to the refreshments table, she noticed one of the professors sitting on the grass, while indulging in some cupcakes.

Looks like those are edible, at least...

Taking a plastic tray, she began filling it with several cupcakes. Once she had finished, she poured herself a glass of punch and cautiously took a sip. Surprisingly, it was quite refreshing.

The sound of muttering drew her attention to the silver haired professor who was slowly circling the table, apparently trying to view it from every angle. A camera was attached to his belt.

"Hey there, teach. That's a pretty sweet lookin' camera. Mind if I take a picture of it?"

Reagan Gideon Breckenridge

Several more students showed up. A shy newcomer, another girl, a blonde and weirdly shining one. Was that holy light? Reagan politely nodded at her, and said, “Welcome,” calmly, regally; as if personally inviting her to feel free to join the conversation. A blonde student began helping a professor arrange the tables, yet he also knocked off some things. Ray smiled, though it was a tad distant, as he was in the grips of a strong déjà vu. I swear that’s…nooo way…Yes way?? Before he could get too excited and ask Feier if she was seeing the same thing he was, one of the cat ladies took offense to him.

The pink haired girl up and went into his face and started bitching at him for his constructive criticism. Feier attempted mediating, and while he glanced at her with a brief expression of gratitude, he wasn’t about to back down. “Thanks Fei, but I got it,” he said, but thought, I hope. His reply to Fia was as gentle as he was capable of making it, yet it still came across as imperious more so than anything else.

Reagan turned back to Pink, as he chose to term her, and glared right back. “Ha? How the fuck is it free when we’re paying for it?” Ray rolled his eyes, and shook his head in bewildered annoyance. “Yeah, you’re apparently so poor you identify with your food and feel insulted alongside it,” he snorted. “It’s not even like you made it,” Reagan huffed, bemused and frankly irritated to be called out on his rich boy’s behaviour. Yeah, so he was used to higher standards, so sue him if expecting bad then getting a shithole was a bit of a shock.

Ahh, yes, I can certainly see how wretchedly my comments have affected you,” he drawled. “And you accuse me of a fragile constitution?” Ray tone and smile were both obviously mocking, though it couldn’t be said that he took much joy in the situation. He really didn’t need or want some random stranger making assumptions about him.

“Don’t worry, I came here just so no girl could ever possibly be compelled to attach herself to me,” he remarked dryly, though he doubted this hothead would understand what he was actually implying. Then again, no one would unless they were familiar enough with him to know that one of the many reasons he detested his parents was because of their oh so favoured concept of arranged marriage.

“This may be another unwarranted observation on my part, stranger, but maybe try learning that just because you can take shit, why should you?” he suggested haughtily. “Exactly as you confronted me for my poor social graces, the air quotes for that phrase were loud and clear without Ray needing to make the appropriate gesture, “you can simply not be satisfied with mediocrity, whether for your darling food or whichever other element of your life you might care for.” Reagan concluded, rising a questioning brow at the surprisingly volatile student.

Helena happily accepted the cookie Feier offered her, oblivious to the fact that someone else almost choked on one as she happily ate it. "Thanks~" She added, before raising an eyebrow at the newcomer criticizing the food.

Apparently they were called Ray, apparently they were already acquainted with Feier, and apparently they didn't like the food. Sure, the food wasn't fantastic, but Helena didn't think it was that bad. She opened her mouth to comment something, only for a pink-haired cat-girl to go off on this Ray, causing Helena to shut her mouth and await her turn.

When the cat-girl finished, Helena again tried to say something, only for Feier to beat her to trying to cool down the situation. Then, Ray promptly shut her down.

At this point, Helena was starting to get... Frustrated. Her hair began to move slightly, becoming a bit fuzzy as though she was charged with static electricity.

Finally, though, the ice mage found an opportunity to talk. So she took it.

"Hey, I like the food, but I get you might not. Please don't start a fight on the first day over snacks. It's not like any of us came here expecting top-notch food prepared by chefs." Helena began.

"So I request you two cool down before I make you two cool down. This really isn't something to start a fight over, it's just food for the welcoming party."

After forgetting about the interview, Adara was reluctant to go to the welcome party, after all it was really noisy.

After a while she decided to enter. Immediately regretting her decision already upon seeing all the uproar.

"Figures.." she said with a sigh whilst going to the least occupied part of the room and started reading all the while mumbling to herself in a very irritated way

Daria was a little surprised when one of them seemed to be his friend and try to smooth things over, but her attention was quickly drawn back to the man in front of her. She listened to her insults, ears flattening and tail swishing faster. She noticed something about the way he spoke of 'compelled to attach' that perked her curiosity slightly, but that was soon drowned out by rage. As he finished his statement, the pink haired cat girl didn't give a damn: this noble asshole was about to experience her belief in the power of fist.

But when the other cat girl spoke, it made her calm down over the issue. Daria folded her arms, looking at the boy in front of her before turning her head to her fellow catgirl. "Fair enough." It would be wrong to have a fight on the first day of school.

"Tomorrow, thirty minutes before sundown, meet me here, Ray. Let us test our constitutions. I, Daria, challenge you to honorable combat." She was pissed at this asshole and wouldn't let his insults sit. And quite frankly, all this time without a single goddamn sparring match in these northern lands bored her. "I hope its less mediocre than your comebacks." With that, Daria turned around and walked elsewhere in the party. If those girls wanted to tolerate him, well, she hoped they didn't mind his fragile tongue.

Location: Welcome Party

Daria was about to leave the party entirely, but looked over as she noticed some strange girl holding a weird device. What in the blazes was that? The cat looked on with curiosity the girl asked a professor to 'take a picture' of a similar device. Camera. The Leopardess looked on silently with a raised eyebrow, but didn't say anything.

To say that this was the outcome that Helena was expecting... Would be a lie.

Helena, at first, smiled as the other catgirl seemed to get her point. Helena felt a bit proud as she seemingly defused the situation, after getting so frustrated at being constantly interrupted. She was about to ask the catgirl for her name when the pink-haired girl spoke up again.

Once more interrupting Helena. Fantastic.

The catgirl, Daria, challenged Ray to a duel. Wonderful.

Sighing to herself, she watched as the Leopardess walked away, before turning her attention to Ray and Feier, forcing a small smile.

"Well, Ray, looks like you've got a date tomorrow now. I've heard of food fights, but this is on a whole other level." Helena began. "Anyway, do you two know eachother from somewhere?"

The staff

The sight of a potential fight didn't really rouse the teachers at all, they were either too distracted setting up the decorations or, like Celia Reed, who was munching on the few decent food bits of the part, a clear lack of interest.

Prof. Thalis nodded in appreciation as a student tried eating food from one side to make it symmetrical, however, he soon sighed. "But now the plates are too empty, it doesn't communicate the idea of a feast anymore." despite spending hours, he hadn't managed to take a single photo of the meeting, the job he had been there to perform.

Turning around, he noticed a student talking to him

"Hey there, teach. That's a pretty sweet lookin' camera. Mind if I take a picture of it?"

He blinked a few times and then nodded. "Its a Foteini Othoni. Light mana crystal gem lenses of 2th. Its... good." he said slowly, and indeed, if the camera could show information of objects, it would show something similar to what he said.

"Yours is interesting looking too..." he leaned a bit closer. "I don't know its model..."

The sound of something wet getting close started to echo through the garden, as the slime councilor Bet Eil approached. She took a moment to take notice of everyone who had arrived, a smile on her face, even nodding when someone looked at her as she approached.

"Hello everyone." she said with a shy wave. "I am councilor Bet Eil."

"Ah right, introductions, I forgot... oh well, would feel awkward now." Celia Reed noticed.

"You guys didn't make introductions...?" the slime pouted.

The pout lasted only a little bit, as she soon heard something which called her attention, making her break into a smile. "A date?"

She approached Ray and gently patted him on the shoulder, before stopping once she head a soft sizzling noise, her slime damaging his outfit there. "And here I was getting worried you kids would have trouble getting to know each other, meanwhile you are already flirting and setting up dates! Personally, the lily pad garden is quite beautiful during this time of the year, quite a romantic environment. Just, uhm..." she blushed a bit and looked around for the nearest male teacher. "Could you give him that leaflet about safety later, Cyrus?" she whispered.

"A solarian?" Gertrude raised an eyebrow in confusion. "I don't know what that is. I'm a saint, a living emissary of the gods." She extended her hand for a shake, trying (and failing) to tone down her holy aura. "I'm Gertrude- it's a pleasure to meet you. What kind of sorcery do you practice, if I may be so bold as to ask?" She was genuinely curious, always wanting to know more about different styles of magic, even if she couldn't use them.

Meanwhile, a fifteen foot black and green snake slithered into the party. The massive serpent made a beeline for the refreshment table, selecting a few fresh-baked rolls and sending them down her gullet. Sarah then got herself into a chair- no easy feat without legs- and then coiled up, her eyes poking out. "Good to sssee all of you. I hope that we can all make sssome friendsss thisss year." Sarah tended to adopt some of the quirks of the species she became, even in her human form- she still had the occasional urge to gnaw on some timber after spending a week stuck as a termite.
