O'Ner Faister

TIME: Late Afternoon

LOCATION: The Grand Ball, Roshmi City

INTERACTIONS: @13org Myra @FunnyGuy Darius

O'Ner was a little hurt that Myra thought he poisoned her; it was not his unintentional to harm her in. Retreating his hand and placing it onto his lap; looking over at Darius feeling a tad angry at him. For making him him look like a monster in Myra's eyes; “I would not say it is poison; but it is something that could make a person quite happy” He said trying to minimize the bad effects of wine. “Your friend is correct however that it does have terrible effects...it would be best for you to stay here” He said trying his best not to anger Myra and Darius. “i am so sorry” He said to Myra; he didn't know why he felt bad getting Myra drunk. But he just felt terrible for some strange reason.

“Give me a moment; I need to do something” He bowed his head walking away form the table; making his way outside. Wanting to caught his breath and rethink how he is interacting with Darius and Myra; slapping himself in the face; “Why the hell do you care if you are hurting their feelings...they mean nothing to you” He muttered to himself.

A few moments later he came back into the hall; making his way toward Darius and Myra. “If their anything you need me to do to help; please let me know” He said looking sadly at Myra.

Torvi was quite intrigued as to why Sakura was giving her an amused grin. Did the woman suspect that she wasn’t telling her the whole truth? This fact alone just caused Torvi to not entirely trust the woman despite the fact she’d shown no malicious intent. In fact Sakura seemed rather kind, but Torvi knew how looks could be deceiving. For the sake of protecting her friends, Torvi knew she had to be extra slow in trusting anyone. So she was glad when Sakura didn’t question her any further.

She returned the woman’s smile and chuckled a little. ”It seems we’re both trying to get our friends out of their comfort zones.” She responded, the statement actually being more true than she’d realized. Poor Bowyn hadn’t entirely been looking forward to this ball and Belle was harder to read. She seemed like she’d been a bit more excited about the whole ordeal, but she could have always been putting on a face as well. One thing that Sakura stated was very much truth and that was the fact that her friends were likely more well mannered than the light elf that had made a spectacle of himself. ”You know it’s elves like him that really give the rest of us elves a bad reputation.” She said with a sigh, playing into her light elven disguise. Truly she hadn’t met many light elves yet, but she would bet that not all of them were arrogant.

The music was beginning to die down, signalling that the dance was coming to an end and this relieved Torvi a bit. She was eager to meet up with her friends and see how their dances went. She also wished to warn them about the first man she danced with and her suspicions about the man that was hosting this ball. ”Perhaps we could do that, but I will have to check with my friends first. They are a bit wary of making new acquaintances thanks to having been hurt too many times. If they’re in a good mood then I will certainly seek you out.” She told the woman with a grin as the music came to an end. ”It really was a pleasure meeting you Sakura. Hopefully we’ll see each other again.” She said as she stepped away from the woman and curtsied. She gave her one last smile before turning and walking away, heading back to the table that her group had been sitting at before. She only hoped the others would return there too so they could all speak.

Myra's shock and confusion concerning the alcohol caused Darius to give a thoughtful expression to his tipsy friend. Downing the wine had not helped alleviate her worries since she moved the glass away and hissed at it.

When O'ner mentioned wine as a beverage that made people happy, Darius silently nodded to that explanation, but then kind of went on about it being terrible when that was the mistake Darius himself had made when initially explaining the effects of the wine. This guy is only making things…. Oh, he's leaving? Oh, he is! Good. Time to go into teacher mode to fix this.

Throughout their time together, Darius had always found Myra to be more of a visual and hands-on learner. She had learned so much more from Skar who was all about doing and not talking much than she did from him who talked way too often. Explaining things verbally to his demon companion was always a challenge, but it never kept him from giving up his quest in teaching her all that he could. With O'ner's departure, Darius reached over to the glass and set it next to the plate of pasta.

"Okay Myra. The red drink that was in here was NOT poison. When you drink, it makes you…" Darius started to sway back and forth in his seat for a moment before stopping, seeing that it was mostly how the beverage was visibly affecting her. He then pointed to the pasta. "Food. Some food makes you sleepy, right? Like…" Darius shut his eyes and let his head tilt to the side to simulate falling asleep. "And some food makes you want to run all day, right? And some are spicy hot." He faked a pant and fanned his tongue. "And some make your stomach hurt or makes you feel sick. Remember when Zorrah made my steak uncooked like yours?" Darius was not fond of the demon groundskeeper that particular evening.

Darius then went out of his way to point people out to Myra with glasses of wine in hand or drinking it.

"The red drink is wine and it makes you feel the way you're feeling now. It's new to you and will go away soon if you don't drink anymore. Just like all the other food. I promise." Darius then noticed O'ner returning to offer any help with anything. Darius smirked as he thought of a way to patch things up a little more. "I think she might like some kind of meaty dish. I think it would mean a lot to her."

Belle & Kuroi

After Belle finished dancing with the mysterious Light-Elf, Belle found herself buzzing with the newfound information. The rebels were here. She couldn't be sure if it was a trap or not, seeing as some demon had been speaking to her in her head. Belle sighed heavily and shook her head. She took a few deep breaths and followed her paper towards her next partner. Not sure what the hell she’d be in for next, she braced herself. As she moved through the crowd, she swatted away a few butterfly papers that had obstructed her vision and glowered at the owners. Nobody said anything, thankfully. She thought she saw Baraian through the crowd but hadn’t been certain. She was going to need to find him after this…

Belle inhaled as she began approaching her partner. It looked like… ”Kuroi,” Belle whispered as she fought to keep her emotions in check. She stared at him and swallowed hard. She had to remain in control, because God only knew if that demon would be listening to her thoughts or something. Belle pictured Gaia in her mind’s eyes, and her emotions quickly dissolved.

”Evening,” she greeted and curtsied quickly. She straightened up and bit her lip. Belle wanted to apologize and make it up to him, but how? She needed to ask him, because only he would know. Whatever it took though; she hadn’t meant any ill-harm to her comrades.

As Belle approached him, Kuroi had merely been standing there in the midst of all the scurrying to find everyone’s second partner. He hadn’t expected such a heartwarming gesture, and although it was appreciated, he was dumbfounded at the kindness that had just been shown to him. He felt bad for snapping at the girl, even though he wasn’t irked at her in specific, he was disillusioned with how rapidly his life had gone downhill in the matter of seconds. The vulpine hadn’t noticed his second piece of paper turn into a butterfly and fly off, only for it to land on his head. He slowly turned around at the sound of his name and gazed upon a familiar looking face greeting him.

Kuroi’s expression grew stone cold as he returned the bow without saying anything. He offered her both of his hands, waiting for her to accept his invitation to dance as he stared into her eyes with the most tense expression one could possibly deliver. As one could imagine, this young fox was not happy. Hearing the governor’s yelling from not too far away also made his blood boil - he was constantly fighting back his urges to give Roshmi a proper reason to send him to jail. Regardless, he pushed his negative emotions aside and waited for the young woman to take his hands.

Belle didn’t need the power of empathy to feel the tension and anger radiating from the vulpine. She had faced this kind of anger before, but this time it hurt deeper. She was ignoring the governor’s yelling, though she wanted to throttle him. As she took his hands, she moved an inch closer so she could keep her voice low enough for only him to hear. ”Kuroi, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know.” She continued as she stared at him. Her eyes were shining with regret and sorrow. ”There are many things about this world I do not know, but one thing I can tell is the deep shame and mess you’ve been brought into. I want you to know I'll do everything I can to clear your name. I’m on your side and I’m sorry, which is something I usually am not. Seeing the innocent fawn being bullied, made my anger boil, and I wasn’t thinking. I can understand if you don’t want to speak to me again, but I want you to know I will do what I can for you to bring you peace from here on out.”

Belle’s voice was hardly above a whisper and the worry was lighting up her dark, icy blue eyes. She glanced around quickly, then back into the vulpine’s stony gaze. Was this demon listening to her? Did he know what was happening? Had it heard her reply? God, Belle didn’t know, and she needed to talk to Torvi and Bowyn, then the Elves and dip after these stupid dances.

”And I need you to keep things on the down low, okay? Is Baraian here and is he okay?” Belle didn’t want to worry or trouble the vulpine further, so she kept what was happening to herself. She managed to catch Elleta’s gaze and stared at her piercingly to alert the woman that something was wrong. She glanced at her with concern as her expression changed, then turned back to her partner. Belle turned away and went back to Kuroi and awaited his reply. Her stomach was churning, but she was in control of her emotions. Belle took a deep breath and waited.

The vulpine stayed silent as he began to dance around with her, listening to her words as he looked down at her with a rather cold expression. Once he had finished and a few minutes had passed, Kuroi spoke, “I am aware your intentions were noble...yet your intentions did more harm than good, to me at least. There is little to nothing you can do for me, all I can do now is clear my name by being open about my presence here. If the governor or any of his lackeys attempt to take me, then I’ll give them a proper reason to put me in jail.” He snarled, gritting his teeth angrily.“Regardless, I am here merely to enjoy myself as best as possible...until the guards get called, that is.”

He spent the rest of his time in silence, dancing with Belle until she spoke up, or until he was called upon by the guards. Whichever came first, Kuroi was already ready to fight if needed to. He already had an assortment of weapons hiding under his garbs ready to be used at any moment. Something told him that tonight would be a hard night to swallow, be it if he was suddenly spotted by the governor or just by this encounter alone.

Belle listened to Kuroi and withheld a sigh. She understood his anger and needed a name cleared. It was something she had fought for after the Hunter’s gang had nearly murdered her. So, part of her could sympathize with the vulpine. However, she could not handle pointless conversations. This would go nowhere and it was proven when he became silent. With a sigh, Belle broke away from Kuroi after a few moments.

”Then I wish you the best of luck. Should you need any assistance, you know where to find us. I have faith you will achieve your goal.” She strode away and began trying to find Torvi and Bowyn. She needed to tell them about the demon speaking to her in her mind. As she joined Torvi, she eyed the crowd for anyone who might be suspicious.

Once Belle broke apart from her, Kuroi offered a deep bow before turning his back on her and moving elsewhere to give himself some time alone. He grabbed a drink from one of the servants and took a seat at the edge of the room, crossing his legs as his eyes watched the various races dance with one another. Taking a sip from his alcoholic refreshment, he couldn’t help but ponder about what the two women had said to him. How peculiar that both of them happened to be humans. Were the gods mocking Kuroi? Or were they trying to communicate something to him.

Despite his mildly feminine aesthetic, the vulpine definitely needed a woman’s touch to ponder over the events that had just happened in his life. It helped to view these issues from someone arguably in worse of a position than he was. Regardless, Kuroi drank his alcohol as he pondered on what to do. Eventually, his eyes fell upon the governor who was barely within his gaze.

Everyone knew how dangerous an angry fox could be.

Even though Darius had said that it was poison, Mathis now spoke that it wasn't exactly like poison, but something that was used to make people happy, making her even more confused. Did he like getting dizzy and feeling weird like that? Did it make him happy despite the bad things that happened? So it was a poison but it wasn't. It made people happy but it had a bad effect too. Despite her confusion though, Mathis was feeling bad by letting her drink it and even apologized so he probably didn't let her drink that 'poison that's not poison' on purpose.

The moment Mathis walked away though, Darius approached her and began explaining about the strange red drink to her. It was probably because Darius knew her longer than Mathis did, but his explanation did seem easier to follow. According to him, it wasn't dangerous as poison, the bad effect, which is apparently the reason why some people drink it, it making the one who drinks it feeling a bit... dizzy and strange, just like she was right now. Again, she had no idea why people liked to drink it exactly because it made them feel bad and weird but knowing that it wasn't dangerous like the poison a snake had made Myra relieved, especially since both Mathis and Darius drank quite a bit of it.

As Darius continued explaining about food, Myra heard him in silence, paying attention. She knew about the types of food he was talking about. The one that burned her mouth was a small red fruit that grew in bushes. She did eat some berries that indeed made her want to run nonstop too like that small fruit that looked like an eye inside a red fruit and a weirdly shaped root that she sometimes found on the ground. According to his explanation not everyone could eat everything without feeling sick, just like when Zorrah gave Darius raw meat. So maybe, even though the strange red liquid did make Myra feel strange, the effects could be different for Darius and Mathis. Almost as if knowing what she was thinking, Darius proceeded to point to many people in the party, that were drinking the same red liquid which was called 'wine'. Myra looked at the people he was pointing at and they didn't seem to be feeling bad at all, most of them were smiling and laughing. So that 'wine' thing did make people happy, it just didn't work for her, just like how Darius couldn't eat raw meat. Myra turned back to Darius nodding towards him, indicating that she did understand what he was trying to explain.

After Darius finished his explanation, Mathis finally returned, asking if he could help with anything. Even though Darius and Mathis himself did explain everything to Myra, including how she would feel better as long as she didn't drink the 'wine' anymore, Mathis still seemed to be a bit nervous and sad for letting her drink it. Turning her head towards Mathis, Myra gave him a small smile, trying to cheer him up. She did understand that he didn't let her drink it on purpose so he shouldn't feel that bad. When Darius mentioned meat though, Myra's eyes immediately turned to him as she stuck her tongue out of her mouth, licking her lips in an agile and quick movement as she nodded affirmatively to him.

"Ffoo! Meet foo!" she tried to say, still slurring a bit due to the wine as she sat down on the table again, looking from Darius to Mathis. Even though she had eaten almost all the pasta, leaving only a little bit on the plate, it seemed like she always had room on her stomach for some meat.

The latter of the paired dances came to an end and it was announced that everyone was free to choose who to dance with or where to go for next hour of the ball. Food and wines were still available and music would continue to be played. People began to unpair from each other and move back towards those they arrived with to either dance or chat. The music once again changed to a jolly, upbeat folk tune and people began to cheer and dance around without a care in the world.

Bowyn was in a better mood than when he’d entered the ball, neither dance had been awful, like he had expected, but instead kind of nice. Almost as nice as free drinks but nothing really bested that perk of being at the ball. He hung around the table serving himself a few more drinks before looking for his friends. The ball had, as it seemed, proved to be not quite as dangerous as he expected either. He’d met another human who had provided a possible location in which to go next and talking to someone from Avalia about wings and flight was pleasantly normal. He was, to his own shock, beginning to enjoy the experience, and he wanted to keep up the good mood for as long as he could. The only way he knew how to keep his spirits up was to continue to take advantage of the free drinks. The only real downside was he was going to have to admit that Torvi and Belle had been right about coming here and it was not a waste of time. He wore an easy smile, with a drink in his hand, as he found both Belle and Torvi back at the table they had originally been seated at and sat down with them.

“Well I’m only going to say this once, and don’t let it go to your heads, but you guys were right and this wasn’t an entirely awful or useless experience. Actually I believe I ran into a cousin of yours, she mentioned meeting up later in a port town a couple days north from here, some sort of family gathering. We could go unless there’s something else coming up you wanted to do.” Bowyn said casually, sharing his information in a way that anyone listening wouldn’t find it suspicious. He leaned back in the chair, feeling relaxed; both from the several glasses of mead and from being back with his friends. From knowing that he did have friends, that he had managed to go out to an overly fancy ball in a strange city and wasn’t miserable. “Also I am in an unusually good mood, so if either of you wants to dance or go get more drinks, I guess we are already here, and we might as well enjoy it.” He added as he finished off the glass.

““You have had enough mead.” Boreas said as he flew from Bowyns shoulder to perch on the now emptied cup.

“What a ridiculous thing to say.” Bowyn said, smirking at the bird. It was strange that Boreas didn’t feel as at ease as he was beginning to feel, normally the bird relaxed when he did. He took a minute to fix the bowtie on Boreas and hoped he would relax some, it was too bad that birds couldn’t enjoy a drink.

As the paired dances ended, the music changed from slow and formal to a more festive tempo that Cade was much more comfortable with. As he looked for both Ayita and Sakura he danced with many strangers along the way. Roshmi was a much more diverse place than his home, and how strange that they even had orcs dancing here. The orcs here however smelled much better and were far better mannered than those he had encountered in the wild. Cade had never thought them capable of being so civilized but he did still suspect them all of being in league with the lich and not to be trusted. He tried not to dance with them while also not being obviously rude about it. Eventually he spotted Sakura and headed in her direction.

“Sakura! I have excellent news.” Cade said ratherly loudly as he strode towards her. He wrapped an arm around his friends shoulders and grinned. “I danced with a princess of the old lineage and did not make a fool of myself, at least, I don’t believe I did. I used my very best manners.” He added in a quieter tone as he beamed with pride. Though his dance steps had not been perfect he was pretty sure he had shown proper etiquette. “Have you seen Ayita? I know where we are needed next, and I believe we should celebrate with food and ale.”

TIME: Late Afternoon

LOCATION: The Grand Ball, Roshmi City

INTERACTIONS: @13org Myra @FunnyGuy Darius

O'Ner snapped his finger getting the attention of a waiter; ordering a meat dish for Myra. “Okay give us a few moments to get it ready” He said sauntering off. O'Ner meanwhile was watching Darius speaking to Myra. Part of him wanted to interject but he felt that anything he would say; would only hurt his image in the eyes of Myra. Seeing her smile in a attempt to cheer him up; smiling back at her feeling a little better for his mistake. “I do apologizes; i did not know giving you that glass of wine would cause problems” He took a seat beside Darius.

A few moments later the waiter came back with a steaming piece of meat; on top it was garnished with onions, peppers and some vegetables. “I hope you like this; if not we can always return it” He said removing the garnishes with his fork. He hoped that she would enjoy the meal; and in turn make her happy. Didn't know why he was being so nice to the two of them; he was worried that Aklenroth would find out and try to kill him. But perhaps he was overthinking things and would need to relax. Even though the whole reason he was here was to gather information about the rebels.

But he was not like Aklenroth's other mindless minions; he was emphatic towards others. It was something that did not change when he was brought back form the dead. One day he hoped that he could escape Aklenroth's grasp; and be human and living with his daughter and grandson. But that was a wish that is never going to come true.

Focusing on O'ner surprisingly bore fruit as he was able to easily lock onto Darius' lingering emotions from his dance with a dark elf woman, or so that's what she appeared to be. The turmoil the young man felt told Umber all he needed to know about the woman who shared the second dance with the naive human. It was speculation, but what other type of would Darius engage with in such a manner?

Umber winced a bit. This was the first time he had ever attempted to take in so many emotions like this. There were delightful negative emotions, but it was also mixed in with disgusting positivity. He couldn't stomach it anymore, and so he positioned himself even further from the dancefloor and to the balcony. His irritableness was beginning to show on his face as he looked upon the city of Roshmi. Finally, a new expression forced out due to his deep feelings on this ball.

This was entertaining for a short time. A game of cat and mouse… Yet, the same result could be accomplished if we simply killed everyone in attendance... What are their lives worth? Nothing. Rebels are here… Humans are here… If only I could access all of my abilities along with both moons fueling my power… Yes... The fear and terror they'd feel from my appearance alone would be succulent…

Then he felt something in the air. It was as if something was building outside. A feeling that had a similar flavor to Darius' , except it was on a far larger scale. The cries of discontentment and hate fell on deaf ears for those attending the ball, but the emotions carried, made their way to the malevolent demon. His smile returned as he looked upon the city. Xenelith had withered so many trees, only to plant a seed in the process. A seed that would sprout a rapidly growing unrest.

Violence was coming.

Artemis
Time: Late Afternoon
Location: Roshmi Grand Hall
Interaction: n/a

Artemis had been relaxing as she watched the second dances. Unbothered, her partner hadn’t shown up, so she continued eating. It had been years since she felt at ease and somewhat at peace. She had been devouring the pasta, along with the vegetables and fruits. She had eaten meat; something she felt on the fence about enjoying. She sighed nonetheless and watched as the dances came to an end. She was grateful she hadn’t been forced to dance again. Though she had enjoyed her time with Cade, she hadn’t been up to doing it again. Putting on a charade was exhausting, but something she was used to doing.

She sat up after finishing her plates and scowled as a young eleven man approached her. ”Miss may I have this -”

”No. Get away from me.” Artemis snapped, not bothering to glance at him further. She ignored the look of dismay and confusion on the Elf’s face. Sadly, it didn’t stop him from trying again.

”A human such as yourself should not be sitting alone, miss. My friends can help you.” Artemis, with her back to the Elf, smirked. So he thought she was human, huh? How many others did? And why didn’t this bumbling idiot realize she could be a demon? Smirking and turning around, Artemis confronted the Elf.

”Human, huh? Maybe you should think twice before you speak, Elf. I’ll show you what a damsel can do to you and make the Demon fighting pits look soft. Be gone with you or I’ll have your head.” She flashed her teeth and a devilish grin crossed her face.

The Elf’s eyes widened as he hurried away. She began chuckling and threw some glares at the companions who had been waiting with him. A group of Elves and possibly some Demis - she didn't look too closely. She glanced around and began trying to find Darius and Myra. She didn't want to admit it, but she was starting to enjoy herself. Artemis smirked as she moved across the dance floor and toward her companions.

Darius felt a little bit more upbeat as Myra showed that she comprehended his explanation. He was especially happy about that because he wasn't sure how else he would be able to explain her current state after drinking the wine. Also, with O'ner ordering some meat for her, things were looking up. He did not know much about the man, but he could tell he was at least a good person from what he saw so far. As he sat with the two, he realized that Artemis was the only one missing from their original seating. I should see where she is. Last time I saw her… SHE NEEDED WATER!

"Hey, uh, I'm gonna go check on Artemis real quick." He said hastily before looking back and forth between the two of them with a stern look on his face. "And no more wine."

Darius stood from the table and walked out into the ballroom while looking around the shrinking crowd using the dance floor. It actually made it easier to spot Artemis who was headed his way with a mischievous smirk on her face. He matched her smirk with a smile as she appeared to have gotten that glass of water she requested from him earlier before the dances kicked off.

"Must be fun to be back in Roshmi, right?" He still wasn't completely sure about what her agenda was. Sure, she was tagging along with her and Myra, but she also shared her distaste for Daka Island. Darius wondered if she would decide to remain in Roshmi once the ball concluded.

Myra couldn't be happier when she saw Mathis calling the person who served food to the table and ordered more food. According to him, the food would arrive soon. Despite all that though, Mathis still seemed to be feeling a bit bad for offering her wine. Myra looked at him a bit confused, she had already forgiven him and it was already explained that everything was but a simple misunderstanding, so he shouldn't be feeling bad anymore. Besides, the dizziness was starting to pass. Myra looked at Mathis with a smile again, indicating that it was everything okay before she turned her attention towards searching the waiter that was bringing her meat to the table again.

When her meat finally arrived, Myra couldn't help but look at it excitedly, licking her lips as she looked at Mathis and Darius before she started eating the meat. It didn't take much for them to realize how much she loved meat, especially seeing how she ate it so voraciously, taking big bites from the meat with the help of her sharp teeth and her claws. Meanwhile, Darius mentioned that he was going to see Artemis, not before talking with Mathis and saying for him to not give her any more 'wine' though. Myra looked at him and smiled waving goodbye before she went back to eating again. When she finished eating, she would ask if Mathis wanted to meet Artemis. They would probably like each other, Artemis was really kind too, just as Mathis was, after all. Before that, she had to eat though. She wouldn't leave such a good and tasty meat like that. Taking apart a small piece of meat, Myra offered it to Mathis with a smile.

Ayita went away from Darius with heavy and fast steps, going towards the balcony. The small 'discussion' they had brought up a lot of emotions on Ayita. Despite everything Darius said though, it was still clear for Ayita that she was completely correct in her decision, which reflected on the words she said to him and Ayita herself wasn't such a weak woman to doubt herself due to the words of someone who didn't even knew her position. Of someone who never had to fight for his land, for his people in his entire life. Those who had everything given to them would never understand those who had to fight, conquer and protect what was theirs.

Ayita sighed deeply as she felt the cold night breeze coming from the outside. With the noises of the ball muffled in the background and the door closed behind her, Ayita closed her eyes for a moment, letting the wind touch her skin, her hair as she felt it. Since she came to Avalia, she felt more connected to the nature than ever before, particularly the wind. It was almost as if it called her to run with it, to rustle the leaves above her and the grass below. Even when she was standing still, the moment she closed her eyes and focused on the wind, it was almost as if she became one with it, feeling the currents, the things it touched, the leaves and grass. The moment she opened her eye again though, she was brought back to the balcony she was, just outside the ball. The muffled sounds reminding her where she was. Sighing deeply, Ayita took a few minutes more to calm herself down before returning to the ball, to search for Cade and Sakura, to see if they had finished their dances as well.

With the mention of Artemis he thought of her cold demeanor towards him; something he found understandable. He wished he could have won her over; but because of her situation he could not become friendly with her. Asking the waiter for a glass of orange juice; another relic of his past. "How did you two meet if i may ask?" He asked her curious about how the two had met.

Mood: Song she’s humming

Elsea’s dance with Malachi had been a nice dance, but rather uneventful since the two had met each other previously. They’d mostly made small talk, but avoided saying anything that would pertain to her being human or of the rebellion. Those subjects weren’t needed to be discussed between the two and it was quite honestly safer not to speak of such things here unless they absolutely had to. So the dance ended and the two went on their way.

She knew she should probably reconvene with her friends, but she quite honestly needed some air. She was still feeling bad about her dance with the demi-human named Kuroi and then the amount of people in the hall were becoming a bit overwhelming to her. This was still the most people gathered in one place she’d ever seen in her life. So she made her way over to the refreshments table briefly, grabbing herself a glass of mead, and then glanced around the hall once more to try and spot Risa and Kyran. She didn’t spend too long doing this, however, before she made her way out to the balcony.

There were surprisingly a few people outside on the balcony as well, but she didn’t mind. One was the light elf man who’d made a fool of himself earlier and she decided he was the one she’d try to avoid interacting with. Then there was the man that had greeted them as they entered and another dark haired elven woman. She stood between the latter two, quite a few feet distance between them. She’d given the woman a friendly smile, noting that she seemed a little upset herself. She didn’t say anything, however, as she didn’t want to disturb the woman. Instead she turned to stare out over the balcony, enjoying the cool nights air on her face.

She began humming a little tune to herself, one that her mother used to sing to her when she was younger, and a small sadness gripped at her. She missed her family, her mother especially, but then her mind went to her last day there on Earth. Being dragged along in chains, her own people looking at her with such hatred, and then the vision of the pyre she was to be burned on. A brief moment of anger overcame her as she thought about it all. If only she could have her magic there, then she’d use that same fire that she was once so frightened of to burn them all. That fire that now coursed through her veins and had become a comfort, a dear friend almost. She would have loved to watch the hatred on their faces turn into pure fear of her.

TIME: Evening
LOCATION: The Grand Ball, Roshmi City
INTERACTIONS: Torvi @Tae, Cade @Helo, Ayita @13org

"Of course, of course. It was also a pleasure dancing and talking with you, Torvi. Best of luck to you and your friend's adventures." Sakura replied kindly to the elf, curtsying back at her as the demoness watched her leave to find her friends. 'I'm sure we'll see each other eventually, one way or the other.' She thought to herself but she only kept it to herself to not sound too ominous to the already anxious woman, although part of her wanted to tell it to her just for fun. She truly enjoyed her time with the elf and she understood Torvi prioritized finding her friends.

Multiple people broke into smiles and casual talking as the music died down but there were still those who enjoyed dancing with their partners. Sakura courteously greeted and waved back at those who greeted her even though she was sure they both don't know each other. She didn't know what else to do after that. She was so convinced something was going to happen at the Ball eventually but so far, it had been a pretty peaceful night other than that stuck-up of an elf from earlier. She was a bit bored out of her mind and actually wished to herself that something did happen just to make things more interesting and exciting though she knew it will bite her in the arse hard later on.

Just as she was close to returning to their original table, Sakura heard Cade calling out to her and felt his big strong arm around her shoulders. She beheaded the last demon that did this to her but she decided to give Cade a pass. "Good for you, Cadence. I'm sure you feel very proud of yourself. At least you seemed to enjoy yourself so far and that's what matters the most." Sakura reassuringly said while patting his broad chest. Weirdly enough, she felt a bit of pride for her friend for surviving the night in a crowd full of rich, haughty nobles although she could tell the princess Cade was talking about was very humble and kind.

"Ayita? Hm, I don't know exactly. Perhaps we should lo- Oh, there she is." Sakura spotted Ayita walking among the crowd and looked like she was looking for her friends too. "Ayita! Over here, darling." The demoness waved and called out to the human. "Oh yeah, I barely finished my dinner before the whole dancing thing started and I am now very much hungry. I could really go for some steak right now..." Sakura jokingly said to Cade with a dreamy sigh as they waited for their friend to join them, the demoness now oblivious to the impending danger that was going to come to them.

Kyran and Risa

Risa had curtsied after bidding adieu to Cadence. She turned and glanced around the room, watching as the pairs disentangled themselves and gravitated back towards their friends. There was a rising fear in her that this seeming peace wouldn’t last long. The ball had been just an ordinary ball thus far and she knew deep in her heart that certainly was not the case. She took a deep breath, forcing herself to think as logically as she could whilst trying to ignore all the eyes on her. Kyran and Elsea would probably be worrying about her. She needed to find them.

It wasn’t long before her eyes set on the unmistakable fox ears and head of red hair. A smile stretched across her face and she gathered her skirts in her hands and hurried over to him. She gently tapped him on the back. He had been in the corner of the room. She wondered why he had not danced with anyone, but she decided against asking right away. Instead, she simply embraced him, happy to just have him alive. Risa wrapped her arms around him and gave him a tighter squeeze than usual.

Kyran held her, happy to see she was okay. All night he had stayed off to the side and watched that Elsea and Risa were safe while they danced. Now he could get to dance with Risa. He had waited for this moment for so long. “Would you like to dance with me miss Risa?” he said before he kissed her hand once they had stopped hugging.

She had buried her face in his chest a moment, taking her time letting go before she looked up at him as he kissed her hand, “I would love to, Mr. Kyran. “ Risa smiled and let him lead.

Kyran then took her by the hand and took her on to the dance floor. “You are so truly beautiful you know that right?” He told her while slowly dancing in a circle with his hands on her hips and staring into her eyes lost in the purple sea that they created.

Risa touched his cheek and rubbed it with her thumb, “Only if you know that you are as well.” They continued to dance but she was as lost in his eyes as he was with her and the two ended up falling into silence. She had not really stopped and faced how she felt about Kyran before but things felt different at that moment. Dionaea was no longer here and he was all she had.

After a few minutes, he leaned for a kiss closing his eyes before his lips touched hers. There was no promise of tomorrow anymore and he was tired of waiting.

Risa was slightly surprised by this move she kissed him back and wasted no time pulling him closer to make the kiss last. Once they broke away, she didn’t let go of him and stared at him, letting him speak first.

“Risa I love you I have always felt this way. if we can make it out of this I want to be together with you.”

Risa stared at him and smiled warmly. Had she been blind this whole time and not noticed how strongly he felt? Dionaea had always joked about it but she never thought she’d hear those words. Before she could even take it in, her heart spoke for her, “I love you too Kyran. Me too. We will make it out of this.”She took his hands and squeezed them, “I have faith.”

As much as they both wanted to stay in the moment, it could not last too long as they both knew the plan was to leave early. Kyran led her to the side and began leading Risa to a side door they had been hinted to look for.

Time: Evening
Location: Roshmi Grand Hall
Interaction with: @Tae Elsea

Umber kept to himself, attempting to feel out the emotions from the faint and slowly growing instability in Roshmi. Those on the balcony were satisfyingly quiet for a good while, but then there was a hum. A sweet yet solemn tune that he nearly ignored if not for the emotions tied to it. Umber kept his eyes forward, but this individual positioned behind him had his full attention. What began as nostalgia quickly twisted into a deep-seated hatred.

Betrayal… Hate… Fear… Is this? Anger… No, it's rage…Yes… And murderous intent to top it all off. This could only be one person. One human…

Umber turned to the humming redhead woman. If it weren't for his poor ability to display expressions, Umber would have shown a face of awe. Instead, his warm welcoming smile faced her. Her, who he had been longing for since the first time he felt her. Her warmth was something he had not experienced for a long time. Yes, Azriel sought vengeance against those that abused her and her family, but Elsea was a woman who sought it against those she once sang with. Those she loved. Those who she gave her trust to.

ELSEA!

To stoke these flames of rage! No, not here. Or the plan would fall to ruin! Why?! Why must I wait?! I want to… Maybe I can… Yes… I will be subtle then. Plant the seed as Xenelith has. Plant a seed and wait and cultivate it later.

"What a pleasant tune to match the night. And a pleasant woman to match the tune. My name is Caius by the way, the greeter if you remember me. You… You seem a bit troubled."

Zelginn

To navigate through all the tall folks at the ball was no easy feat for one so short, Zelginn found himself however determined to get back to the food table. His sniffing skills were however of little use here with all the rich perfume, sweat and other various scents got in the way. Then he saw him. A man who carried himself with such grace, his movements so smooth and his attire really formal. But more importantly he carried food with him. It was a waiter. Zelginn quickly licked his lips and began to advance, there was nothing that could stop him from ambushing this walking feast. Or so he thought. From above came a hand, and then another hand and the fingers latched unto his face. The fur clad little boy gasped and struggled, looking up to what manner of lout was getting in his way. It was a woman, an older one. No.. there were a couple. But this one had grabbed unto his cheek and was squeezing it.

"Aww! What a cute little boy! How did you get in here?" The woman said while pinching his cheek with her fingers, and soon enough her associates, which were three other women all placed their hands on him, one lifted him by the back of his collar, another one grabbed his other cheek and the last was toying with his ears.

"Hey! Let go off- Stop that! Let me dow- That's my ear, keep your overgrown greasy fingers off my-" His voice was muffled as one of them was hugging his smaller frame.

'I will devour you, I will feast on your souls!' The boy thought in a much darker tone, before he finally saw a glimse of hope when a pigfaced man and his duck-looking dancepartner tried to speak to one of the women.

"Here's my chance!" He said aloud and did a brief jump, leaping out of the grasp of the women and into the crowd, but he did spot the waiter in the distance.

'Where is he? I can smell it! He's over there!' The small figure chased after the scent of meat, and such a sweet smell it was, it was getting closer and his mouth was beginning to water and then he saw the waiter. The man had put the food down close to some kind of odd looking big woman with white fur.

"No way! Sto-" Zelginn gathered his voice and was about to yell when someone bumped into him and he lost his voice, taking a moment to catch himself he then laid his eyes on something horrible. The creature, whatever it was was feasting on HIS food! It was eating the meat which he had hunted, the realization that he had lost his food to this woman made him so angry he had to breathe in and out really quickly. 'What a glutton...you big oaf...you thief...' He was feeling all warm and almost boiling, this was unbearable. He had to get some of that meat, it had to be liberated from her greedy claws. But then the woman had even given parts of it away to another overgrown figure, to add salt to the injury which the small figure was feeling.

'Well, If I cannot eat that meat, I am going to eat you later.' The fox-boy looked on with a stern and annoyed glance, trying his best to contain his temper.

Terneus Andros

It had gone a few moments since the fairy had vanished outside of the building, the governor found himself glaring all around in an attempt to spot it again but to little avail, thus he turned around and was about to head back indoors. He saw an elven woman approach the balcony seemingly enjoying the breeze outdoors. 'Such a simple elven woman. Most likely moon elven, judging by her less noble features.' The governor considered, before settling on to not greet or converse with her at all. After all people could possibly gossip that he is interested in moon elves, which itself made him feel ill.

Speaking of things which were ill, he began to wonder if there were indeed any humans hidden amongst the crowd. There could be a high possibility of it, but to what he was concerned, there was no way a human would be able to remain hidden for long in his presence. Once more he allowed himself to delve into his memories of his younger years, of just how keen his eyes and ears were, and how much grander his race were than all other. He had at the time felt pity for anyone non-elven in his younger years, for they would never know how great it truly was to be amongst the pure and wise elves. To never be able to look down on your lessers and have others look up towards you as a demigod. The very memory made the governor smile softly, as he felt that tickling feeling inside again. 'Curse your existance, you of lesser birth.'. The woman had left when he had been too busy with himself, but such a thing was inevitable, she was most certainly moon elven and he knew how those were.

Then he noticed the man next to him, who at his arrival had escaped the governor's notice. After all, he couldn't possibly memorize or make note of every lesser creature who happened to be graced with his presence. Though it were also times such as this where it was interesting to see a lesser creature in it's full glory, which according to the governor were not impressive at all. This one looked simply... distasteful. Terneus reached for his napkin to place it before his nose, as the very thought of sharing the same air as that creature was making him feel the urge to throw up.

'What is it doing here? Go away.. shoo you filthy creature. Crawl back to your badger hole.' He thought and set his eyes on a woman which had arrived shortly after said man. The woman was humming on some tune, it caused Terneus ears to perk up. What manner of elven tune was this? It wasn't one he had heard before, could it be moon elven? No. It didn't sound -that- bad. Which must mean she was a fellow noble. One of his kin. He threw a glance to the man next to her, now when he thought about it. A human could possibly disguise themselves as a beast and be able to sneak about in there. They were possibly crafty and capable, otherwise Aklenroth wouldn't be looking for them.

Terneus allowed himself to ponder of what he would name a human if he would catch one. What possible tricks could it learn, and more importantly could it's magic be harvested? Perhaps this elven woman had heard anything, and since she were kin and being close, why not ask her? But before he had the chance to formulate his epic introduction and titles, that underhanded beast had the audacity to address a kin of his and attempt some crude flattery. But in it's inferiority, how could it not? Then he proceeded to flatter her more and introducing himself.

"Ahem! Madam. There is no need for you to speak with a creature of his standing, whatever you call yourself beast, it isn't worth to remember for us of fairer life and fortune than yourself. Do yourself the favor and scram. I am certain you have peasant things to do? I am Lord Terneus Andros, governor of the light elves. I am certain you've heard of my exploits, beauty and power, fair miss?" He placed one of his hands at his waist whilst the other he attempted to wave away Umber as if he were a fly.

"Tell me have you heard anything about these humans? Afraid in my strainful way of work, I have had so very little time to converse with others in regards to recent happenings. And I won't take gossip from..." He took a moment and glanced to Umber, holding his breath momentarily before resuming. "...lesser things."
