Time: Dawn
Location: Edge of a forest
Interactions: Vanasi
Ambiance: Waning

"So you see brother that is why I cannot let you go...."
Vanasi had taken his little brother to a place he knew he'd feel at ease. They were sitting at the edge of the forest, underneath a flat peach tree. The serious conversation he'd planned for days was now finally over. It was a weight of off his shoulders. It was difficult for him to be harsh with Ilan, but Vanasi knew he would see the sense in this decision. As naive as he sometimes appeared to be Ilan also possessed a wisdom beyond his years.

Ilan hadn't said anything yet. Emotions of all kind were welling up inside him. Sadness about leaving his new friends behind, wistful for the ones he would never meet and finally trepidation to return to an empty house with the memories of his grandmother in every room. Vanasi was caught by surprise when a tear spilled down the freckled face of Ilan. His usual wonderfilled jade eyes, turned sad and pained. He sobbed quietly and pulled up his legs to his chest, leaning his face on his knees. He stared of into his own world.

Vanasi let him be, with great effort he had to make himself stay where he was. This only confirmed to him Ilan was far from ready to be involved in a gruesome war. It would crush what remained of his already pained spirit. If it were up to him he would be far far away from all this. It pained him to see him like this, but better to be safe. Time would sooth his wounds.

After a while his sobs quietted down and Ilan suddenly realized how tired he felt. It was like he'd been holding it back for a long time. He sighed deeply and wiped the remaining tears from his face, his eyes red and puffy. He knew that after the war eventually everyone would go their seperate ways, returning to the places they came from. Both Avalians and humans. He didn't want to leave without saying goodbye, but at the same time he felt like he couldn't face them. Part of him felt like he was abandoning them. So instead he wrote each a letter, to share the things he would have said.

It calmed him down, and after a while of writing down his thoughts the tears stopped coming. He'd made his peace for now.
He folded them carefully into a shape resembling a flower. He got up from the grass and handed the letters to Vanasi.
"Promise you'll give these to them..."
He said tearfully, his voice slightly unsteady.

He clasped his hands around Ilan's smaller ones.
"Be safe and stay kind"

"I promise, I will"
Vanasi watched the shape of his younger brother Ilan wane in the distance, he kept looking until he could not see him anymore. It was the right thing to do. Even if he wouldn't make it out alive, he'd kept his promise to grandmother. Ilan was safe.

Umber
Azriel
&
Darius

Time: Evening
Location: Outside Roshmi Grand Hall
Interactions: @Helo Bowyn

The plan had gone… somewhat smoothly. Umber had been a bit surprised, and Darius hadn't thought about how he would land. Still their objectives had been completed. Umber didn't want to share the same fate as Xenelith and Darius wanted…

The barriers are down and I'm out. Myra please leave! You can get out! I DID something! You hear me Mal?! I DID something!

Now I have to keep from crashing into the ground.

Luckily, he was saved by Azriel, who caught him just in time. Umber caught himself using his telekinesis, his body never even touching the ground.

"Oh shit!... Thanks." Darius turned to Azriel as she had surprised him a bit. Now she seemed to want answers. His lips parted, but Umber spoke first.

"Aklenroth would have sacrificed us all to eliminate his enemies… Darius and I simply agreed on putting on a show to live another day… and so he could save his demon friend."

"Wait wait wait! So you thought that thing…" Darius pointed at both Umber and Azriel. "That you BOTH Yugioh summoned into the ball was gonna wipe everyone in two minutes and then we were just gonna let him go on his merry way? And what the hell is up with that black fox thing?! Is that ours? It looks like ours!" Darius continued to rant on and on while Umber focused his communication to just Azriel.

"Azriel… I think it would be best to kill this one. He cannot be molded. He freezes…"

”No.” Azriel stated firmly out loud as she whirled on Umber. She’d been quiet the whole time, listening to Umber’s explanation and then Darius going on his rant. She didn’t dare stop him as it was obvious he needed to let it out, but it was Umber’s comment in her head that finally broke her silence. ”You will not touch him and you will not harm him in any way. He is young and still has a lot to learn, yes, but just because you are losing your patience in your old age does not mean you simply get to rid yourself of him.” She knew Darius would likely be confused at hearing only one side of the conversation, but she didn’t care. She stood in front of the human a bit protectively now as she stared at Umber with her arms crossed.

A low growl emanated from Umber. Darius was confused, wondering what Azriel was replying to and why she seemed to be taking a defensive position in front of him. He raised an eyebrow as he watched the demon's eyes narrow.

"You should know well that I do not need to touch him to kill him. I could do it now if I wanted. With or without your consent… but perhaps I should let you play with this toy until it breaks. All so you can come back to me in the end."

"Is he talking?" Darius questioned, but was treated as background as far as Umber was concerned.

”Oh I know full well you could, however if you do I will show you just how well you’ve trained me.” Azriel ignored Darius for the moment as well as this confrontation had been in the making for a while. ”Or perhaps I’ll find your precious Elsea and eliminate her. Then you’ll have lost both of your little toys.”

"You will not touch Elsea!" Umber teleported a few feet forward so he could be right in front of his apprentice, if he could refer to her as that now. "She is mine! Darius stared at Umber. There was conversation going on, but he only had half the details. He grunted.

"Hey I'm right here! What's up with the secrecy. I helped get us out. You could at lea-"

"Silence!"

”Ah struck a nerve I see.” Azriel said as she giggled at Umber. ”Just remember that I am what you made me Umber.” She said before glancing over to Darius.

”So my dear Umber here believes you are useless and wants to dispose of you, I beg to differ. I see your worth and I think you are very much worth keeping around. I enjoy you, Darius.” She told him, giving him a genuine smile. Darius could only return an uneasy smile as he was made aware of the topic of discussion. It was no wonder Umber seemed disgruntled.

"Maybe I should go or something… And thanks I guess?" Darius said nervously

"You are what I made you? That may have been accurate before this mess of a ball, but this human has changed you. You feel for him like no one else before… That is the true reason why he should be disposed of. Not because he is useless, but because he is a problem… So, Azriel, rather than stain my hands, I shall present you with a choice young girl…" Umber had referred to Azriel by this when he had first found her. "Him… or me." Umber floated backwards some. Darius scowled at the demon.

"Fuck him." Darius took a step forward to stand beside Azriel. He turned to her with a smile. "I enjoy you too. And it's clear he doesn't." Azriel’s heart had begun aching when Umber presented her with an ultimatum and her blood went cold, however Darius' words seemed to lift some weight off her. She turned to look at Umber again as she slowly came to the realization what her decision was.

”You know it’s really rich coming from you that Darius has changed me while you’ve been over here obsessing over a human of your own. You wanna know what I think is really going on? I think you’re scared. You’re scared because I’m finally thinking for myself for once and I don’t need you anymore.” She didn’t even waiver as she spoke these words, they came surprisingly easy to her and she felt there was truth in them. She wasn’t just saying them to try and hurt Umber, she meant every word. ”Darius is right, you don’t enjoy me anymore. You made that painfully clear. So go, find your little Elsea. Perhaps she can be your new family, because I can’t anymore.” There was fierce determination on Azriel’s face. ”I choose Darius.”

Umber was silent for a short moment as he stared at Azriel.

"So be it. Twist your toy until it breaks... while I make mine last longer than even you." Umber got ready to float away, but caught sight of something flying their way from above. A Winter Fairy. "Farewell!" Umber teleported in order to dodge the ice dagger and continued to teleport away from the area to leave Darius and Azriel to their fate.

Darius looked to Azriel with a serious expression and gave a nod before quickly devising a plan.

"Now it's two on one Angel of Death! Leave or die!" Darius threatened. He hoped Azriel would leave. Not to only spare her, but to put himself on the side of the rebellion.

There was still a small part of her that broke as Umber left, realizing something so big in her life was actually over, but she didn’t have much time to dwell on it as she saw the ice spear heading for her. Swiftly she used her mithril wings to shield her from the weapon while giving Darius a brief look of understanding. She looked up at the familiar winter fairy and felt a small twinge of sadness as she realized she may have botched that friendship as well. She had a part to play, however, and could dwell on things later. ”I have no shame in admitting when I’m outnumbered. Have fun with your little broken rebellion.” She said to Bowyn and Darius with a giggle before taking flight, flying off towards the trees as fast as she could. For once in a very long time she was alone, truly alone.

Time: Evening
Location: Roshmi Grand Hall ----> Outside
Interaction: @princess Malachi @Potter Cora @FunnyGuy Darius @Helo Bowyn

Malachi pulled Kenia in for a kiss and she couldn't help but feel that it was bittersweet. While it brought her great comfort, she couldn't shake the feeling that it may also be a parting gift. His hand came up to her cheek and she leaned into it, taking in every second of the sweet moment. It was short lived, however, as a voice drew both of their attention up to the elven greeter. Before she knew it, he had transformed into a demon and then a female winged demi-human summoned a rift above the middle of the ballroom.

Malachi had moved protectively in front of her and Corvina, backing them up as far as he could. Kenia had no qualms about getting as far away from the middle of the ballroom as possible. She then also watched the fox child turn into a demon and she couldn't say she was surprised. Malachi seemed to have noticed as well and took a moment to gloat a little. Kenia simply gave him a look that said 'seriously?' Before she could actually say something, however, Cora pulled her attention. "No, Cora, don't!" she began to yell at the girl, but it was too late. She was rushing off through the crowds and Kenia could only track her movements for so long before she was lost in the crowd.

More and more people kept crowding around her and Malachi and Kenia did everything she possibly could to keep her grip on his hand. It was becoming increasingly difficult, however, as the panicked people became worse when they realized there was no escape. A small girl ran into Malachi and Kenia immediately recognized her as one of the humans that spoke out with Elsea. She looked so frightened and Kenia's heart broke a little for the girl. They needed to find a way out and get as many humans out as possible. She began frantically scanning the crowds again, hoping to find both Corvina and Elsea.

Her attention was pulled back to Malachi, however, as he instructed her to find Cora and get out. She began to shake her head at him as she realized he was planning on staying. "No...Malachi, wait...please…" She began to plead with him, but it was too late as he let go of her hand. She immediately got swept up in the crowd, being pushed farther and farther away from him despite her attempt to fight it. "Malachi…" She tried again as her heart began to shatter more and more. "Malachi! If you die I swear to the gods I will follow you to the afterlife and kill you again myself!" She screamed at him as a few tears fell down her face as she clenched her jaw angrily.

"I love you, Malachi…"

Before she knew what had happened, she was pushed outside of the ball. The barriers had gone down? Her eyes widened as she realized she still needed to find Cora. "Corvina!" She screamed as she shoved through people. "Elsea!" She screamed for the redhead as well, hoping that her and Cora had found each other. She even attempted to make her way back inside, but it was useless. There were too many people flooding out the exits. Maybe if she went around the side of the building, perhaps she could find a way back in there.

She darted around the corner, but instead of finding a way in she found a small group of people. One was the man who initially started speaking out against Aklenroth and now that she was closer appeared to be human perhaps? Another was a winter fairy, something she hadn't seen in a very long time. Last was the demi-human woman who had opened the portal, however she seemed to be fleeing. She watched them all warily, but decided to approach. If this was a human then she should help in protecting him. "Is everyone okay?" She asked the two men.

Darius was glad Azriel played along both quickly and smoothly. Darius watched Azriel fly away with a faked scowl on his face before he removed his masquerade mask and addressed Bowyn. He recognized the peculiar-looking fairy from inside that appeared to be associated with one of the female humans that revealed herself.

"Thanks for the assist… Fuck this is a shit show.." He then looked up at the building wondering if Myra was okay. He hoped he had acted soon enough. His attention went to an approaching blonde light elf woman who asked if they were okay.

"Some of us are… My name is Darius by the way. And I'm human if you didn't know already. Is the pale-skinned demon girl still up there?" Darius looked between the fairy and the elf, posing the question to both of them.

Bowyn was left incredibly confused, had he really just attacked a demon and Azriel and suffered no retaliation? Sure, neither weapon had landed, he hadn’t really expected them too, but he thought something more would have happened, but instead here he was neither dead nor maimed and both threats had fled of their own accord. It was certainly not him that was intimidating enough to cause a demon to retreat. It must be the human, clearly he had incredible power, enough so that even a demon did not want to face him. With the demon gone Azriel left as well, and he would be more than happy to never meet the so-called Angel again. Before he had a chance to address the human a light elf approached, asking if they were okay. Though many of the humans had torn off the fake ears that disguised them as elves so he couldn’t be sure that she was not one still in disguise.

“I’m fine.” Bowyn replied as his wings beat slower until he floated to the ground. He studied the woman, not worried about the human due to his assumption that humans were trustworthy creatures. “And what are you another human? Or actually an elf, and if so what sort of elf do you claim to be?” He asked and his annoyance with elves as a whole was clear in the way he said the word elf. He could still hear the commotion from inside, and while he and the human both seemed fine he still had no idea where Torvi or Belle had ended up. He couldn’t ask if either had seen them, not until he could be sure that the elf wasn’t some sort of loyalist to Aklenroth, or possibly even worse one who followed Terneus like he was the second coming of some elven deity.

He stared at the human, who introduced himself as Darius, and apparently thought it was a good idea to announce himself as a human to the elf. Though the human certainly had power, restraint and common sense might not exactly be his strong suit, this had after all been the human to first publicly announce his support for Risa and start the whole ordeal. Darius mentioned another demon, a pale skinned demon girl, that Bowyn had not seen, and he shook his head and wondered just how many demons were loose and wreaking havoc inside. He knew that Torvi would prioritize getting out, she had made that clear early on and he was confident that she had a chance against lesser demons. He was less sure about Belle, who had stood making bold declarations on the table, who was not some trained warrior of earth like Torvi was, and who had only had the most basic of training in the days leading up to the ball. Even with magic he doubted either of them would fair well against the massive demon that had been summoned. But the barriers were down, if they were still alive they should be getting out now with the rest of those who flooded through the exits.

“I’m sure you mean well, but perhaps telling everyone you are a human in a world where humans are actively hunted and killed is not the greatest of plans. Speaking of plans that are not so great, you might want to rethink pledging allegiance to a defunct princess who summons others to do her dirty work.” Bowyn added with obvious bitterness. While he did believe Aklenroth needed dealt with, the lich was an Avalian problem, this was their world to fix, and to abduct humans to use as pawns was an action so selfish and cruel that Bowyn could only see Risa in the same light as Aklenroth. She used humans the way the lich used the dead, and that was unforgivable.

“Do you have companions here Darius? If so we should find them soon and get out of here. I’m sure Roshmi will have more than just demons to worry about after this.” He added. There had been a very public declaration of rebellion here, and one could be sure that the lich would retaliate against all of Roshmi for it. It was also a fair bet that officials of Roshmi would try and round up as many suspected rebels to offer up in the hopes of being spared the fates that had been dealt to the more northern cities suspected of harbouring both humans and rebels. If he did not find his own companions soon he would have to simply hope that they would make it the port town as they had failed to discuss any other meeting points should they be separated.

BGM: Avalia OST - Kuroi's Epiphany

The ballroom was an absolute hellscape - it would only get worse from here. Kuroi witnessed the slaughter of innocents (and not-so-innocents) by the huge behemoth that towered in the center of the ballroom. Although he suspected that some suspicious characters had already escaped, he was more worried by Elsea and Belladonna whom he kept hovering around. It wasn't until he heard the cry of a soldier that caused him to move from his self-designated patrol route. His attention was now fully on the darker-skinned woman whom he began to stalk amongst the terrified crowds. Although a feeling of vengeance did rise within him, he thought it best to keep his attention on this woman and her two allies she called upon. A human? Trying to fight back a monstrous being? That was preposterous! It was suicidal!

Kuroi bared his teeth as he looked down at the dead guard before glancing over at the woman again. She stood on a table, attempting to further feelings of rebellion amongst the crowds who were at least slightly more calm-minded then the average demihuman running for their life. He kept his face covered with his metallic hand and kept his wakizashi ready if need be. His attention switched between the two humans he had been inconspicuously guarding, but by now he had completely put most of his attention upon Ayita. Amidst all the chaos, Kuroi realized that all he could do was help those trying to escape, protect the two humans whom he had danced with, and search for any allies that might benefit him. The dance hall reeked of betrayal, it was almost certain that there was some further foul play among the people who stood up and stupidly, but openly, denounced Aklenroth.

"Human! Why do you choose to fight!? Why not run with the rest!?" Kuroi called out to the woman who stood on the table alongside both her companions. He was meters away from her, and was already on edge. The vulpine was prepared to make an enemy, or ally, out of anyone.

Artemis
Time: Night
Location: Roshmi Grand Hall
Interaction: [@Dezeul] Elthrael & @princess - Risa

Artemis let out a hearty chuckle at the moth fairy’s commentary. Servant of Aklenroth, huh? She spread her teeth wide for another menacing scream to blow out his eardrums when said moth fairy sent something flying at her. Artemis paused with confusion as she watched the small particles trickle from the sky, then realization dawned on her: it was poison. She had spent enough time around fairies in her past to know what it was. She turned and ran, although not quick enough. Some of the poisonous dust flew into her eyes and mouth, causing her to cough and choke. Her vision blurred and her hearing was temporarily ringing. She gasped for air and raced towards the river.

Once close enough, she dove into it and submerged her entire body. Thanks to the darkness, it hid her mermaid tail. She splashed into the water and then fell silent. Quietly, she flushed it out of her eyes and wiped them frantically. Her mind was locked onto Risa as she prayed the young fairy would defend herself. It took her awhile before she finally felt free and so she picked her head up out of the war. She wiped her eyes once more and growled at her soaked dress. She glanced at the river’s connection around the woods and grinned. It thankfully ran miles down, so she was able to continue using it. Artemis silently went back underwater and began swimming around the river to the back of the duo.

With a nasty grin, the mermaid paused in her stance. She was diagonal of them and out of the way of the poisonous plant dust. Artemis wanted to scream, but her throat still burned from the effects. She locked her eyes on the moth fairy and watched how things would play out. Next, her gaze moved to Risa. Come on, Little One….

Ayita could feel her blood boiling, she knew that she wasn't the only human in the ball but still, Aklenroth was willing to simply slaughter all the other guests, be them innocent or not. Even his own allies. Aklenroth was exactly like the white men who invaded her people's land. Killing indiscriminately only to satisfy their own greed and thirst for power. She knew she wasn't alone, there were other humans in the ball and she knew very well that some of those humans were willing to fight, just like she was. Those would prove to be valuable allies. That said, there were still many bystanders that were simply cowering in fear or simply trying to flee. She only hoped her words would open their eyes. Unfortunately, Ayita was too worried in getting back to Sakura and Cade and thinking on what she could do on that situation to notice the words from that the other guests in the ball were saying as she ran past them... She had just arrived near Cade, just as he was helping the red headed woman, who had also spoken up against Aklenroth. Even though Ayita didn't know who she was, she heard her words and saw her actions. The woman had a warrior's heart, just like hers.

"The exits are still barred by-" Ayita said, replying to Cade as he said that their priority should be taking the humans to safety before she was interrupted by three people who were approaching her. Unfortunately, she had just realized what was happening when they were close and after seeing that somehow they had weapons in their hands as well. Before they could move in to strike her though, she saw a handaxe being thrown, hitting one of them with an audible sound as a human woman ran towards them, quickly killing the other two.

"It seems that the demons aren't our only enemies... Fortunately, it seems like there are more of us willing to fight." Ayita said, greeting the woman and putting her closed fist on her chest.

Just after she finished greeting the woman though, both of them turned their heads, watching as a black haired human went after the demon. Much for Ayita's surprise, the human was no one other than Darius, whom she had spoken to earlier. Seeing him fight made her satisfied though. Maybe he wasn't a complete fool after all. The moment Darius used his magic to trap the demon around a sphere of water though, Ayita heard a commotion coming from the exit. It seemed like the one responsible for the barrier was that same demon. Fortunately, distracted by Darius, the barriers were now down. It was their time to escape.

"Good luck, warrior." Ayita said to the woman as she walked away.

"I know, Sakura. That... thing isn't something we can deal with. At least not yet." Ayita said, turning to Sakura as she told them that they should escape as well.

When Sakura mentioned that she would be staying behind to distract the demon though, Ayita at first opened her mouth to protest, but closed it soon after, looking at her with a smile and a chuckle as she shook her head. She knew that if anyone would be able to get the attention from the demon and somehow still manage to escape, it was Sakura. She did it before with the dracolich and Ayita trusted on her powers.

"Be safe, my friend. I know we will meet again when the time comes." Ayita said, giving Sakura a short hug before she flew towards the huge demon.

Sakura then, after provoking it, began casting a spell by using her talismans. Drawing a five pointed star with her hand, the talismans started shining with a bright pink light as she began a chant. Pink chains suddenly appeared, flying towards the demon and restraining it, despite it's sheer size.

Just as Sakura had finished, another woman came towards them, getting near the red headed one Cade helped to get up. Much like her friend, whom apparently was called Elsea, she also chose to fight and just like her, had no fear in her eyes and chose to fight instead to cower in fear.

"Don't waste Sakura's efforts, Cade. Take Elsea and her friend to safety. We need to help as many as we can. Be them humans or those who also chose to fight against Aklenroth." Ayita said, looking to Cade and then to Elsea and her friend.

"Take them and go somewhere safe. Don't worry about me, you know I can take care of myself. We meet each other later, we still have Sakura's talisman." Ayita said with a nod and a determined expression, looking to Cade before she hugged him and got up on the table near them again, looking around and searching for more humans needing help.

The moment she got up on the table though, a voice called her, asking why she was fighting instead of just running away. The vulpine demi-human was only a few meters away from her and Ayita noticed that he was armed. Judging by how he was looking at her and his posture, he didn't consider her an ally, at least not yet.

"I am a warrior, not a coward! Would you leave innocent people or allies behind to be killed? Would you leave others who have chose to fight against Aklenroth behind to save your own life? I fight for something that is bigger than just my own life. I fight for the future of this land and the future of my own people. I fight to conquer a place where my people can live in peace!" she said, looking to the vulpine beastman with a sharp stare and with the dagger she got from the guard still on her hand. If he was going to attack her, she would be ready for it.

"My people are suffering in the hands of think exactly the same as Aklenroth. I couldn't do much back then when I saw my home and my people burning and being killed but I can do something now and I don't plan to throw this chance away." she finished, looking to the vulpine beastman with a sharp stare, closely watching his reaction and movements.

Risa's eyes narrowed as she listened to him ramble about her friends. He spoke so ill of them yet knew nothing about them. Elsea had been calm and had done so well this week. She had been in complete control of her power and Risa felt with all her heart Elsea and she would meet again. When it came to Kyran, she was not even sure what he was talking about. It sounded so strange to the point she wondered if he was making it up. She'd find him again too. Who he was decide their fates? He would never convince her to stop believing in her friends. He continued on to talk about his grandparents and how her family exiled them all. She felt a pang of sadness for him but it seemed like he just was trying to one-up her instead of understanding how she felt. If he lost his whole family, no matter who to, then he should understand why she'd want to fight to not lose her family.

"My destiny has always been... to take it all back, and I'll do it. With or without you."

His words sunk into her deep as she covered her ears to block out the random scream. He tossed her upward and she quickly fluttered her wings to keep herself up as she watched Elthrael move toward the scream and where the stick had come from. It felt like all the pain she had been carrying was transferring into anger as memories of all her encounters with him went through her mind. When he kissed her cheek when he claimed to "love" her while trying to touch her on the beach, all the times she felt doubt about his words... He was nothing but a selfish opportunist. No longer would she ever consider him with even a drip of respect. Risa had lost her patience with him.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Risa clenched her fists, watching him create poison to drop down on whoever was below. She then reached into her dress and began to search through it until she took out a small pouch. The usual empathy that would push her to try to understand his side was gone and her fingers trembled as she picked out some seeds from it and tossed them in the air. Risa knew it was a risk and that she was not so adept at chlorokinesis, hence why she carried seeds. Spawning them from thin air was tricky for her, but her practicing would hopefully come into good use tonight.

Risa focused on him as vines sprouted from them and began to twirl toward his wings with intent to entangle them as well as towards his ankles. He had been focused on the enemy below and unable to hear well. Risa knew this since she had struggled to hear any words that had come after the scream herself. Fairies were unable to manipulate another's magic while in use, but possibly he could detangle himself once she was done manipulating it. Luckily enough, what she was going for would make him fall before he could detangle himself, separating the two of them.

"You underestimate my friends and you underestimate me. Your desire for power will be your downfall before you can even get it. "

Her words felt icy and they felt foreign coming from her own mouth. It reminded herself of the moment she had turned on the dark elves that had killed Cloud with a feeling of fury. She gave him a look that could kill as she had spoken, staying in her spot for a moment to keep the vines' movements to wrap around him ongoing. If the vines had somehow missed, then her focus would be to circle them back around to try again for round two. He surely could cushion the fall or detangle himself before he hit the ground, but it would buy her some time. She fluttered past him and downward toward the ground, intent on helping whoever had been there. Risa made her way through the canopy, struggling to dodges twigs and branches and began scoping the area with hope to find Kyran at the least.

Risa eventually knelt down by a river to rest a moment and drink some water, huffing and exhausted from the long night.

Elsea looked up at the large cat man as he helped her up and gave her an appreciative smile. He spoke words of honor to her that, as simple as they seemed, touched her heart. This was why she chose to stay in Avalia, for people like him that didn’t look at her like she was a monster. ”And I am honored to fight for you and your people.” She said in response before she noticed another warrior woman approaching the group and dispatching three people who seemed to have malicious intent. That wasn’t something she’d expected to happen, but at the same time it didn’t entirely surprise her. People would do many crazy things out of fear.

Cora approached them then and Elsea could see the exhaustion. She quickly moved to help her friend stay upright. ”I’m quite alright, my friend, but you seem like you’ve been through it. Have you been using your magic? I caution you to save any you have left if you have been using it. We do still have to get out of the city.” She cautioned her and then noticed her eyeing Cade. ”Don’t worry, he seems to be a friend.” She said softly to Cora with a smile.

”Unfortunately we don’t have magic to level the building exactly, but burn it down maybe? It would take a lot for us though and unfortunately I don’t think it would do too much good. I fear Aklenroth will just unleash another horror if we defeat this one.” She explained solemnly as she began to guide Cora towards an exit. She glanced back to see if Cade would follow or not, the woman binding the demon with chains had given them a chance and it wasn’t fair for them to waste it.

Meanwhile Torvi hadn’t gone too far from the group, instead having turned around to try and relocate her friends. She watched just in time for Bowyn to go chasing after the winged woman. While she feared he may be getting himself into trouble, at least he had gotten out. Now she scanned the room for Belle, but she’d hoped that Elle would have made her leave. The elven woman seemed to be very protective of Belle which Torvi wasn’t exactly sure why, but she was thankful for. She wasn’t seeing her friend, however, and decided to just hope she’d gotten out. Others had seemed to start attacking the other demon that had been chasing a white demon around as well.

She overheard Ayita telling the cat man to get the two other humans out and she’d stay and help get others out. At this point Torvi knew they all needed to get out, but she could try to help the woman get others out in the process. As she turned to offer to help however she could, there was a demi-human man who appeared to be confronting Ayita and Ayita replied. She listened to the words the other warrior woman spoke and agreed to a point with what she said. ”But even warriors know when to retreat and regroup.” Torvi spoke as she moved up beside Ayita and then looked between her and Kuroi. ”This fight against this demon is not one we want right now. Most are almost out and safe, the ones still fighting we can only hope will be wise and retreat as well. You speak of fighting for the future of your people and I’m assuming those people are not here yet by how you speak. So how are you to bring them here if you are dead?” The ball was in fact looking a lot more empty, though there were a fair amount still there trying to fight. Some had begun to retreat as well, however.

”I would be honored in helping you in your quest to provide a peaceful land for your people, but that requires us leaving now. I know of a place where other warriors are going to regroup, we should meet them there.” Torvi didn’t know the woman, but if helping her got her to leave then she would. All she wanted was to at least save another before getting out.

”I advise you leave as well, this is a battle to be fought another day.” She told Kuroi before scanning for the best exit. There seemed to be an exit that was more clear than the others over near what appeared to be a dark elf that was attempting to fight the demon as well. ”That looks like our best way out.” She said to her small group as she pointed to the exit near Baraian.

Do better, be better.

I didn't raise you be a coward, Belle. Suck it up and quit crying about it.

You could help so many people. You have to open yourself up and trust others. I know it's hard....

Well spoken. This will also be the day when I step down as leader of Golden Death, I would like all of you to give this young woman your best.

I know you’re struggling deep down and I’m sorry if this added more pressure to you - but we can’t lose you. You’re the leader and our friend.

Belle's mind was racing with the memories as she gritted her teeth. She began to focus on pushing the memories out and focusing on her mind. If she didn't control herself, she'd end up wasting Rosemary's sacrifice. That was a debt she could never properly repay. She wasn't going to throw away her shot or her ability to help. If not for herself, then for the citizens. They believed in her. They chose her. Whatever spark they ahd seen... Bell swallowed and shook her head. Going home wasn't an option, no matter what. Who would she be if she ran away? Who would help these people? God, she was mad at herself. She wished she had a switch to turn off her emotions. Her mind's eyes filled with Embry's bright brown and the anger quickly began dissipating. Emotionless in battleground robbery, were people's downfalls. Her grief began to turn into hardened anger as the shell of her former self took over.

The tears began to evaporate on her cheeks as she regained control over herself and used hydrokinesis. Belle wiped her eyes quickly to help clear her vision as she stared at the two blond elves. To her surprise, Hagmer leaned down and gave her a hug. Frozen, she stared with shock, then slowly raised her arms to return it. She slowly let go and nodded. Belle took several deep breaths. Her attention was caught as she watched the first male-human use water to launch himself at the scary demon-greeter. She hoped it hurt the bastard and vowed if he didn’t, she would kill that demon herself. The human’s brave act knocked the barriers down which allowed everyone to begin fleeing. Her attention was caught by the dark-skinned female human now shouting against Aklenroth. She felt a smile tug at her lips. This woman was going to be a great ally, if they ever met again.

Belle looked at Hagmer who had jumped on the table to announce the barriers were down. His words, telling her she could leave, had her shaking her head. No, she wasn’t going to run. Belle wanted to find Bowyn and Torvi, although her blood was boiling. So many innocent Avalians were dying at the hands of the lich. Leaders did not abandon their people, no matter how desperate times became. Belle ignored her mind telling her to flee. She began studying the ballroom and noticed a pyrokinetic human attacking the demon and grinned. She was thrilled to see others, especially humans, fighting back. "No, I'm not leaving your side. We're going to get out of this together." Her eyes flashed with seriousness as she stole a quick glance at him. "I'm not going to let anyone else die if I can help it." Her voice held steady as emotional numbness took over. Her mind was clear as day. Think, Belle...

Belle surveyed the ballroom and then noticed the giant black wolf chasing the creature she’d seen the hydrokinetic human with earlier. Malachi had as well, as he threw two light orbs directly at it. Next, she watched as the winged-demi who had opened the rift attack him with her magic as well. Belle tracked the wolf’s moments and moved forward. Her eyes traced their movements like a hunter watching a deer scurry. Belle looked at the glasses and raised her hands with intense concentration. The glasses on the table raised as the water began to spill out.

Next, she then set the water flying onto the floor where the wolf would be running. She had waited until the white creature had passed prior to tripping the wolf. If that didn’t work, then Belle moved some of the glasses closer to her and stared at them. Water from the refreshment and the glasses stand flew into the air and around her into a small ball. She focused on the ball in front of her and gathered as much as she could. As if she was whipping a ball, she sent it flying into the wolf’s face. She let out a grunt at the weight of it and turned to watch her attacks. Belle then raised her hands and created a shield of water around Malachi and herself in case it came at them next. Her blood was boiling, her fists clenched, and her expression filled with rage. "If that wolf falls, we need to grab that... creature and move as fast as possible while it's stunned. I'll be right beside you and shielding you. Hopefully our combined magics will have done the trick."

Her attention was briefly caught; a familiar voice, Kuroi’s, was questioning why they were fighting. Belles’ face filled with shock and disgust. What was he even saying? Had he not heard all the humans standing up for this land? She shook her head at him. His anger from earlier, was that the cause? He’d just been standing beside the redhead human and her! Whatever his reasons, she felt disappointment rise inside of her. While she focused on the water shield around the elf and her, she glanced over slightly to hear the same woman berating him.

Belle felt a sigh of relief fill her as she saw Torvi guiding the warrior-female, herself and then Kuroi out of the grand hall. Her words filled the hall and Belle couldn't help but agree; still, bitterness rose inside of her at Kuroi's words. She scanned the room quickly as she faced the scene with the wolf and creature. Elleta, Regulus and Morgayne were nowhere to be seen, and she had prayed they had exited safely. Belle turned and focused on Malachi, the white creature and the demonic wolf. Her shield was still bubbling around them. Her gaze flickered to the female ensnaring the demon as she glanced at Malachi.

Aklenroth was enjoying the chaos, losing Xenelith did not bother him as he could easily be replaced by Kol. They were all just pawns to him in the scheme of things. Living as long as he did had made him lose attachment to those around him. He watched many die and their foolish attempts to attack the demon, unknowingly shortening the doom that awaited them.

‘I guess this is my queue to get amongst the rabble.’ He thought to himself as he jumped from the balcony searching for a group he could infiltrate

“Help! Please help! I need some help!” He falsely claimed as he began to fake a limp in his step. He approached an ice fairy, an elven woman, and Darius. He knew Darius would go along with the scheme, knowing who he was.”Please may I go with you it will be safer to travel and go as a group but we really need to get out of here fast.” He said in a false and very deceiving worried tone.

Ahzmorath

Ahzmorath let out a loud laugh at the attempts of magic against him breaking the chains and taking the hits as if they were nothing. He swung his tail into the crowd which when it hit the wall made a very large hole. “I am tired of this; I will wipe you all from here and bring you into the abyss!” He roared, raising his arms in the air and began drawing in any light object into a hole that began to open in his chest as the seconds went on it began picking up larger and heavier objects.

'I've got you now!' The lust for blood was growing stronger for each passing moment, the thought of biting down and killing Myra filled the demon with unbearable impulse to push forwards. But as he was lunging forth, he was interupted as a ball of light slammed into his form, causing him to recoil from the impact, the light magic burning like scorching fire on his fur and skin. The painful sensation causing him to stand still for a moment, his eyes searching for whomever had attacked and wounded him. Upon setting sights on his attacker, he was attacked again from a different direction as three metallic shards crashed into the side of his body, the large wolf-like creature let out a loud whine and pained growl. It's head snapping to see who the other enemy were. It was her. Azriel.

'Betrayal!' He thought in a vicious manner, if he would get his claws and fangs on her later it would be the end of it. But for now withdrawal was required, he was bleeding from the slashes and cuts made by Myra, by the impact of having been locked in place by O'Ner. But also singed and badly burned by Malachi and had now three metal feathers imbedded into his side, which would make further battle difficult. His body was durable, in time these wounds would surely mend themselves. As he was about to make it for one of the doorways, another attack struck him. Right at the nose and jaw, like as if someone had spun and hurled a high propelled stone at him. The impact sent water flying all over it's form, but also sent the large wolflike creature to the ground a distance away, the metallic feathers borrowing deeper into it's skin. Soon after, the creature's form began to become grey in colour, twisting and turning, gradually becoming smaller until there was only a small figure lying there on the side, bleeding, burnt, partly impaled and drenched in water.

Zelginn didn't like the feelings which he was feeling, this was new to him. How had he gotten overwhelmed so quickly. All he wanted was to have fun, and eat that... 'That thieving... bitch...' He thought, as he could feel a pull, one which he had never felt before. What was it? Was he dying? He who had lived for so long, so long that not even he knew how old he was. When his mother Lilith had saw them made.

'Mother? Why destroy a world you could have so much fun in... Is this how death feels like?' The small figure thought, his vision becoming blurried and things seemed to slow down all around him. He could hear the screams, the people fighting and the brother he saw in Ahzmorath. 'I don't like it... I don't like it at all. This... isn't.. fun.' The demon blinked a few times as it rose it's head, looking up to his attackers, Malachi and Belle.

"An immortal like me... by people like you? What a joke...unghn.... uhh..." His vision darkened and his head fell down, his body limp and not moving against the ballroom floor.

Elthrael Vol'Kerno

As the hours had gone on, the weather had too changed. Dark clouds on the dark sky, the rumbling sound in the distance of thunder with the promise of a downpour. "How noisy... scream all you like it won't change a thing! It's time someone shut you up or shut you down." He said in an amused manner, although being unable to hear his own voice nor anything at the moment, was something he found irritating, more so were the fact he had lost grip of the fairy princess. As the moth fairy watched the area where his attacker no doubt were hiding in, as the poisonous dust were covering the place. He was attacked from a different angle, this time it came from Risa who sprouted vines in an attempt to apprehend him.

He had a look of surprise on his face, but he instinctively closed his wings causing him to dive downwards slightly before the vines took hold around him. The moth fairy focused and began to utilize his own chlorokinesis to form a bark-looking layer across his body as as shell almost as the vines would wrap around him midair. As his form was fully enveloped by a mixture of the layer and the vines from Risa the fairy went to work. He channeled his magical prowess to press the layer outwards against the vines with full force. He knew it wouldn't be long til the ground, thus he had to act quickly. The vines snapped to the pressure of the ever growing bark-shell until it exploded alltogether, with shards of bark and wood flying in all directions.

"Haaah!" Elthrael yelled aloud, spreading his arms wide and his wings soon followed, giving a few flapping motions to halt his fall, the two large eyes pattern at the inside of his dark wings making itself fully visible.

"That's it! That's what it's going to take princess! Strength of body and mind!" He said aloud, his arms lowering momentarily as his mouth formed a grin. "To stop -him- and stop this world from burning from your rebellion! Those whom cannot foresee the future are doomed to perish in it! Then go about the path you chose, Usurper princess!" The moth fairy raised one of his arms dramatically to gesticulate, as the rumbles in the sky were replaced by a large bang. A bolt of lightning slamming down just outside of the city and behind Elthrael. Causing his wings to cast dark shapes on the ground below, and his face lit up momentarily to show his smile. Before he quickly fluttered his partially scruffed up looking wings, and darted away quickly into the forestation.

Ezeri sat around a small campfire she had made in the woods. She had not been in Avalia long, only a few hours at this point. She sighed and looked over to Anzu and Melzor, “So this place doesn’t seem so bad.” She said as she turned the meat that had been cooking on the fire.

“Well, maybe but it’s boring as fuck; all we’ve been doing is sitting here. When are we going to see some action?” The little imp said in reply.

“Well, we should find some other intelligent life so we can get a grasp of where we are; this place does seem interesting enough to stay for a bit. You are too hasty Mel.”

“Oh sheeeit you hear that! Ez sounds like something’s coming for you... dun, dun, dun. get that stick out your ass and get ready lady.” Mel laughed as he said this but he was serious about hearing something.

”Shut the fuck up for a second and maybe I can Mel.” She said before unsheathing her sword and listening. The sound of fast incoming footsteps could be heard and rustling bushes. ‘Two...no four. The creature is a quadruped’ she thought to herself. “Mel, Anzu go hide this one could be dangerous.” she told them in a demanding tone.

“I have seen demons who could wipe their ass with you; I doubt something from here is that scary, but I will oblige.” Mel said as he grabbed Anzu and flew up into the trees.

From the forest came a wild mangy-looking black fox and charged at Ezeri. She grabbed his head, using Kyran’s momentum against him, pushing his head into the dirt.

” There’s your intelligent life, Ez!”Mel exclaimed with a chuckle.

” Seriously this is not the time Mel!” She yelled at him.

Kyran got up and turned around lunging at her, “Ì͎̲͒͡ͅ H̜̱͗̈͑͐͜͢U̻̐N͙̳̿̆̾͟G̨̩̪̎̃̈́̅̌͟͟E̬͉̮̣͌͛̏͝R͉͛ I̧̫̠̗͋͂̌̉ ͘͢W̱͍̭͈͆̅̏̉A̡̭̾̽͗͜N̦͗T̖́ ̠̮̳̅̃̚T̠͎̲̋̋͞O̞͕͛̃̈́̿͢͟ F͕͓̱̫̌͆̎̎E̳͊E͔͓̼̳̋̇̅͐E̙̩̿̈́D̗̜̈̚!̜͗”He growled.

Ezeri grabbed him mid-lunge and as she did. She used her planar travel to drag him to Avernus. The land beneath them was rocky and twisted plants rose up from the dirt. A snake slithered nearby as the heat of the lava brushed against the skin of the pair. The two clashed under the dark red sky for a few moments, dealing multiple blows from Ezeri and bites from Kyran to each other in the fiery war-torn battleground. Ezeri slashed her chain sword which was alight with flames as it viciously slapped into Kyran’s fur with a force comparable to the blazing fireballs above them. Kyran roared out in pain and lunged at her with a furious swipe, shoving the horned girl down into a rock harshly. Luckily, she soon was back at her feet slashing at the fox but he began to accustom to her moves, swiftly dodging and hopping over the chain as it reached out underneath. Ezeri decided a sudden switch might catch him off guard.

Once again she dragged him to another plane of Baator, Styigia, a frozen wasteland. Kyran had looked around but quickly took some distance from Ezeri to take in the new surroundings for a slight moment. They were standing on thick ice for all he could see for miles. The sky was black as coal and the only color that lit both the sky and the ground up was the consistent flashes of lightning. Ezeri did not seem to mind, running at him with impressive speed and jumping into the air to come slashing him down in between the breaks of lightning when Kyran could not see her coming. Kyran growled and slipped down against the ice.

Ezeri smirked down at him, circling around him. The lightning flashed again and Kyran was missing. She blinked and looked around wildly but it had grown dark again. She guarded herself and gripped the handle of her chain sword only to be tackled down from behind by thick, furry paws. Teeth sank into her shoulder and she instinctively plane shifted them once again.

They finally returned to the wooded area of Avalia, which surprisingly enough also had a sky with lightning flashing above them. Thunder boomed as she swung her chain sword at his legs cutting them and tripping him. Kyran lost grip of her shoulder and hit the ground once again, where she finally moved toward him, blood pouring from her shoulder as she grabbed onto his skull.

Her eyes began to glow and her hair began to rise into the air with the flow of energy coming from her. “Calm down, be at ease.” She said in a warm comforting tone as she activated her domination ability. A bolt of lightning struck in the sky the moment she did so and what was once a beast was now more humanoid with light skin and orange hair with large animal-like ears. They were both bloodied from their fight but Ezeri was still able to move and walk which couldn’t be said for the unconscious Kyran who laid on the forest floor.

“Woo Hoo! You beat up another poor creature, look at you Ez.” Mel said sarcastically and laughed.

“Let’s go.” were the only words Ezeri said in reply as she picked up Kyran in her arms; she didn’t have much strength but the adrenaline was enough to carry him for a bit at least hopefully long enough to find someone who could help them heal their wounds. “We will follow the tracks where this one came from.” Ezeri suggested.

“As you wish, miss Ez.” Mel said in return, picking up Anzu and flying close behind.

Kenia was fairly positive her eyes were still red from the tears she’d shed minutes ago, but she tried to ignore that fact. She couldn’t dwell on the worry she had for the safety of both Malachi and Cora even though she so desperately wanted to get them out of there. It seemed she had stumbled upon another human and perhaps her priority now should be getting him to safety. She could only pray her little family would be safe and she’d see them there. Before she could reply to Darius, however, the winter fairy spoke and he obviously wasn’t a fan of her kind. ”Touchy, touchy. Obviously some of my kind haven’t been so kind to you in the past. I will say, though, that some of us light elves aren’t pretentious assholes that think they’re better than the other races like Governor Shit-for-Brains. And you can call me Kenia.” She said as she referred to Terneus, but then also introduced herself and risking using her real name. She then looked to Darius.

”He does have a point, though. It may not be best going about announcing that you're human to people you just met. Some people in this world would rather have your head to give to Aklenroth than help you. Luckily I don’t think either the fairy here or I wish to do that.” She cautioned him, backing up Bowyn. ”As for the demoness in there she was still being pursued, however one of my companions was attempting to assist her from what I saw as I was being shoved out the doors. Even that bitch of a demi-human that was just here tried helping her surprisingly. Not sure why, but I suppose the demoness has a good chance of getting out. My friend will make sure she gets out too, I can guarantee that. In fact, he will stick around to make sure as many get out as possible.” Calling Malachi her friend felt strange as she felt they were much more than that now, but what they were she wasn’t sure. Then there was the fact that she just said Malachi would stick around to make sure he got as many out as he could and that thought actually made her sick to her stomach. Stop dwelling on it Kenia. Instead focus on saving who you can. Make Malachi proud. She thought to herself angrily.

That’s when another joined their small group and this one Kenia was immediately wary of. She recognized him as the host of the ball and he seemed to be limping. His tone sounded worried, however she was all too familiar with putting on a very convincing act. She was capable of it herself, but unfortunately now was not the time to question him on it. She heard Ahzmorath’s booming voice and knew now was the time to flee. If the light elf followed that would be fine, she could question him later and if she thought he was a threat she’d have no problem dispatching him in his sleep. They had a journey ahead of them and there would be plenty of time for that. ”He’s right, we need to leave now. I can get us out of this city and to a safe place, but I do have to make a stop first. There is another of your kind, Darius, that I need to retrieve first. After I get him from the inn we were staying at then I’ll get us all out of here. You just have to follow me.” She explained and then began to swiftly exit the premises, leaving it on them to decide to follow her or not.

Myra knew very well that she would probably be wounded pretty badly if that black, wolf like creature managed to catch her but she still had to somehow lead it away from Mathis and Darius. Thankfully, it seemed like slashing his side to provoke it had worked and the creature had almost completely ignored her friends. Much to her surprise though, despite her efforts to lead it away from both Darius and Mathis, the latter, instead of running away, walked closer to the creature. Making a staff appear on his hand, Mathis conjured a spell to restrain the black creature, followed by a spear of energy to wound it. Myra who had noticed the creature getting ready to pounce on her to close the distance and was about to dodge, heard a whine coming from the creature. Upon noticing that the creature had stopped following her, Myra immediately hissed and growled in protest as she stopped running and looked back to Mathis and the now restrained creature, looking at both of them. It was clear that she was incredibly distressed and confused by the entire situation, not only there were a lot of smells and noises confusing her senses, but the fact that she had to protect her friends only made things worse for her. She knew could flee from the creature by using her speed but neither he nor Darius could. Why weren't they just running away? Didn't they understand she wanted them to run?

Even though the creature seemed to be restrained, Mathis still approached it. What would happen if it suddenly got free and went after him and Darius? Should Myra do what he suggested and try to blind the creature? There was also the possibility that without it's sight, the creature would stop focusing on her and go after the others or even start blindly attacking everything, which could end up getting them hurt. Even Darius who was still frozen in place could be harmed by it too. Before she could decide what to do though, her worst fear became true. Somehow, the creature opened it's mouth and managed to eat the magical chains that were restraining it, together with the energy spear that was also conjured by Mathis.

Myra felt her blood freezing as she watched the creature, that was now free, looking at Mathis. Due to the panic and confusion, Myra took a moment longer to react than what she usually would, which surprisingly enough saved her from probably getting really close from the creature on the moment it looked at her again. When it was about to continue chasing her, a white ball of bright light flew towards it, almost blinding Myra in the process. Alarmed by the sudden flash, Myra looked around in panic, until she saw a blonde elf, the same who sent the ball of light, waving at her in a strange manner. Almost at the same time she noticed him though, Myra saw a glint in the corner of her eye. Three sharp, metallic things flying fast through the air and hitting the black creature.

Looking at where the feathers came from, Myra noticed that it was the same winged woman that had thrown the strange crystal on the air and called the huge demon that was still rampaging in the middle of the ballroom. She was certainly an enemy so why did she help her? And why was Darius in her arms? Did he ran away while she was distracted with the black creature? Why didn't he run to safety, instead right towards a demon and trying to fight with it! Myra made a mention to run towards where Darius was, to try and take him away from the winged woman and the demon but she couldn't leave Mathis alone as well... Not only that but she didn't know where Artemis was too. With so many things happening, so many smells and noises, it was almost overwhelming Myra, to the point that she was just standing at the same place, looking towards Darius, Mathis, the black creature and around the ball to search for Artemis in panic. Why they couldn't simply run away? They knew that Myra could take care of herself! Instead, they were only putting themselves in danger!

Even though Myra was a hunter and a dangerous predator, being able to take down even large creatures by using her speed, agility, her claws, talons and teeth, the situation she was in right now wasn't one familiar to her. Her enhanced senses were gathering so much information that were proving to be almost a disadvantage for her. She was getting so stressed that it was hard for her to focus on things. If Myra had met the black creature in the forest or at least somewhere that wasn't in such a chaotic state as the ballroom, she would have either immediately fled from it in order to avoid any unecessary wounds if she saw that she wouldn't be able to take it down unscathed or she would use all her abilities to immediately take it down before it could retaliate but she was in a situation that she had never experienced in her entire life. She couldn't run away, she couldn't fight directly because her friends might get caught up, she had to pay attention on Darius, look for Artemis, keep an eye on the huge demon... It was just too much for Myra, who was already incredibly confused, not being able to understand exactly what was happening other than that they were in danger.

So far, despite how stressed she was, she did manage to keep things mostly on check... That was, until that moment. Suddenly ball of water soaked the ground near the black creature before another ball hit it right in the face. Myra saw, a bit relieved as the creature finally fell on the ground, tired and exhausted due to the wounds it suffered. As it shrank down, transforming itself on a small fox like boy and finally getting unconscious, Myra knew that it was not a threat anymore. Turning her attention to the water ball that hit the creature, Myra looked to where the ball of water came from. She knew that Darius could control water, but she knew Darius was still near the balcony still besides the winged woman and the demon, whom Myra knew that were enemies. Confused by that, Myra looked at the female human who had thrown the water ball, her eyes meeting the woman's for a brief moment as Myra realized that the woman was just like Darius, a human.

The exchange of stares with the human female was brief though, as a moment after she looked at her, a loud noise echoed through the ballroom, immediately turning her attention away from the human female. The huge demon had swung it's tail, opening a hole in the wall and sending debris flying through the ballroom. Reacting it on instinct, Myra managed to dodge a big and a few medium pieces of debris that flew in her direction, jumping and dodging them. Unfortunately, Myra had missed the fact that the huge demon was somehow attracting things towards it's chest, almost as if he was eating them after raising it's arms. When she finally noticed it after seeing a chair flying through the air a few meters away from her, it was already too late as a table flew towards Myra, hitting her head and sending her sliding through the ground, stopping near where the blonde haired woman was, already unconscious.

INTERACTIONS: @13org Myra Zelginn @Dezuel, Malachi @princess, Belladonna @Potter

O’Ner made sure that Myra was safe and sound; making sure that the monster’s focus was on him. The assistants of the others trying to defeat this creature seemed to move it’s focus away from him. Helping them as much as he could making sure the chains would keep him from moving too much. Watching the other’s attacks connecting Zelginn’s flesh; Watching their attacks causing Zelginn to start slowing down. Assisting them and more importantly Myra by continuing his assault on Zelginn. He felt disgust and anger towards Zelginn; mostly because he was harming innocent people and hurting Myra.

The undead general conjures another energy spear throwing towards Zelginn; mostly aiming for Zelginn’s to once again try and cripple the demon. He felt that his effort to assist the others was wasted; doing his best at least to attack Zelginn while keeping his disguise. Watching the demon being neutralized he let out a sigh of relief; but this sense of relief was disturbed by Ahzmorath summoning a black hole. “Damn it” He cursed under his breath. Rushing over towards Myra wanting to grab her and rush out of the ball room.

Doing his best to try and avoid the debris and chairs coming towards him; Cutting a large table in half using a spell. Moving slowly towards her using a spell to make his steps more heavy. Watching Myra being knocked out by a piece of debris; feeling the anger filling his body. Moving closer towards her, finally able to carry her, placing her over his shoulder while waving his staff in the air. His horse Tulip disguised as a white horse appeared and rushed towards them, quickly getting on his horse making sure Myra was secured. Riding away out of the ball room and into the forest.

Both Bowyn and Kenia’s words of wisdom were answered with a smile and a scoff from Darius.

“Yeah, I’m sure you two approached me so you could chop my head off for amas. And besides, you two seem smarter than just that. Even an orc would know I’m worth twice as much alive than dead. I’ll heed the warning though.” Darius managed to comment after the female elf spoke of the matter. When she began to inform him of Myra, she had his full attention.

Myra…

Your weakness caused this. You are the only one to blame for her wellbeing. SHE is protecting YOU. A demon. My kin. My brethren.

Darius’ frowned as he dropped his gaze. Even Azriel had helped? Was he so weak that Azriel felt pity for him, or was she trying to help? Darius shook his head as hopeful words came from the elf. He took a deep breath and gave a single nod to her. He could tell that whoever this woman left inside, made her feel the way he felt. In a way, it made him trust that her friend would help Myra.

“We should get-” Darius paused at the appearance of… Vaeril.

“Help! Please help! I need some help!” Vaeril claimed as he limped over to the trio. “Please may I go with you it will be safer to travel and go as a group but we really need to get out of here fast.” Darius scowled at the light elf disguise of Aklenroth and shook his head with disapproval.

“You…” Darius said with disdain before hearing a crash within Roshmi Grand Hall followed by Ahzmorath’s grave message. Kenia voiced her want to leave and even seemed to have a plan and route figured out. Pit stops included “Let’s go then.” He looked determined but was a bit concerned with Kenia’s wording. Retrieve? What is he, a handgun?

And you are nothing… Unable to strike.

Most everyone had cleared out of the room by now, leaving just a few stragglers and the demon. Kenia was nowhere to be seen and he took this in good faith; she got out safely. It was all he could have asked for. He smiled to himself. He knew Kenia was probably cursing his name right now, but he was determined she would not lose him anyway so she just had to deal with being angry with him for a little while longer. He'd find her again no matter what it took. However, Corvina was still here. Somehow he was not surprised.

Malachi paused his thinking to listen carefully to the others upon noticing the aggressing black demon was subdued. The girl had utilized her water ability quite impressively and bought them a moment now that there was a shield up. He picked up on the other voices in the room, his eyes on the blonde human as he did this quick survey. A female voice was speaking how she could not hold him for long. He glanced at the demon for a moment, noticing it had chains wrapped up him. A male voice asked why a human chose to fight and listened with interest to the girl's reply. She was so determined and brave that Malachi found her to be honorable, however quite foolish in this situation. Perhaps he had no room to talk. She had come from a place of suffering no different than Avalia and truly seemed to want to change things. Given the situation and how they handled humans being brought here, Malachi thought they were more than lucky to get such willing humans. However, the humans leaving here was vital. He was going to have to stop them all in their bravery act.

His gaze followed someone taking the white demon on a horse. He gestured in response to the blonde in response to her statement to the departing horse then turned back to see the wretched creature laughing. A big tail swung toward them and he quickly grabbed Belle's hand and none-too-gently ran out of the way, dragging her and yelling, "Watch out!!!" to the others. Following the tail's trail, it broke a huge hole in the wall. Escape was easy.

He rolled his eyes at the demon's tantrum as it started dragging stuff into a black hole in his chest. "Demons are just big, ugly babies." Malachi grumbled and then quickly moved over to the group of those left behind. "Anyone who does not go through that hole in the wall right now will be dragged by yours truly. Now GO."

Malachi gave them all a serious look, his eyes lingering on the dark-haired girl who had been giving a brave monologue earlier, worried she might be an issue. He also gave Corvina a look and pointed at the hole. "Now!"

Time: Evening
Location: Roshmi City
Interactions: Elsea @Tae, Cora @Potter, Ayita @13org

Those around him all told Cade that it was time to flee, even though there were still a small handful of people still inside, and Sakura still battled with Ahzmorath. The thought of leaving Sakura behind while she battled the demon did not sit well with him. He knew there was nothing he could do to help her, but she was his friend and she was in danger. Although a part of him knew that a war would mean losses, that it would mean actions that did not always seem honorable and right, Cade had never had to leave an alley behind while they still fought. He also knew that the coming war mattered more than his life or sense of honor, and that humans were their best chance at winning. Ayita was right, they could not let Sakura’s heroic actions go to waste. He had to make sure these human’s stayed safe and got to the port town to continue the fight. As some sort of portal emerged from the demon’s chest and began pulling things in, it was clear that to remain here any longer would only be a loss, but to keep the humans alive would be a small victory. He followed after Elsea as she led the other human out of the ballroom, staying on the opposite side of the very exhausted looking human.

“Any creature that stands against the lich will always be a friend of mine.” Cade said to reassure Cora who had seemed wary of him. As they made their way towards the exit he could still hear Ayita’s voice above the commotion, she spoke not only like a warrior, but as someone who he would be proud to follow into battle, she spoke like a leader. He wondered if she shared his reservations in leaving a fight unfinished, in leaving anyone behind. Just as she had implored him to leave, to assure him that was time to retreat and regroup, he felt the need to echo the same advice to her. “Ayita led those who will follow you from here, to the port, and ready them for a war. Leave this demon to be his own undoing.” He turned his head and shouted in her direction. He could only hope that as the demon continued to destroy the building around him, drawing wreckage and furniture into a portal within its own chest, that such destruction would undo Ahzmorath as well. But he could not worry about Roshmi’s safety, he had to focus on the humans, and on the war to come.

Bowyn knew he had to leave, there was very little chance of him being able to find Torvi or Belle amongst the panicked masses that had fled Roshmi Hall. All he could do was assume they had gotten out, he had told them about the port town, and he’d just have to hope he’d find them there in a few days. He wasn’t going to consider the other possibility until then, if he wanted to stay focused and to keep his head clear, he couldn’t afford to think of them as lost. What he could think about was how much easier it had been to travel with people he could trust, now he no longer had that luxury. Although Kenia had claimed she needed to go retrieve another human, who was to say that wasn’t another trap? Going back into Roshmi seemed like a bad idea, he wanted to get as far away from the city as quickly as possible and he wasn’t sure if looking for another human was worth risking the one already with them.

As if one elf was not enough a second elf approached, limping, and asking to join them. A wounded elf would only slow them down but it seemed cruel to point that out right away, even if he was an elf. Bowyn would keep his opinion on the second elf to himself for now so long as the limping elf was able to keep up with them. He wasn’t sure what Kenia’s intentions, or the other light elf that joined them, were but he knew his own intentions. If the human was going to be traveling with these elves, then he should go with them as well. Darius seemed to have little sense of caution and if either elf tried anything he would be there to help the human. He removed both the mask and the vest he had worn to the ball and tossed them aside. As he did so Boreas glared at him, annoyed to still be wearing a bow tie.

“No more fancy parties.” Boreas said.

”Definitely.” Bowyn agreed as he whispered to his bird and removed the bow tie from the bird and tossed it away as well. ”And no more fancy clothes.” He promised his winged companion, then discreetly nodded his head towards the male elf and Boreas understood that Bowyn wished for him to keep an eye on the elf.

”I will watch him.” Boreas said. Bowyn kept his attention on the other elf, Kenia. He was more than happy to let the elf walk in front rather than have to give his back to someone he didn’t trust.

”I’m Bowyn.” He said, specifically introducing himself to Darius. ”The first human I met calls herself a viking, are you one as well? I’m told they are the fiercest warriors of Earth.” He asked trying to determine if humans' seemingly fearless demeanor was from bravery or a lack of comprehension of the danger they were all in.
