The Strangest Odyssey

Somewhere in Nakano Station

The scratching of an pen upon paper, the scribbled notes of a person who took pride in their work, That is to say, a pride of an individual whom had a lot to lose if they upset any of their superiors. "Tch" It was a scowl of inconvenience. Usually an Overseer would be appointed with knowledge of what on earth was going on. But she had been deployed here with not even so much as any additional command seals and was told to simply ascertain if there was a 'holy grail' involved so they could properly send the 'real' overseer for the grail war. Semantics and Drivel, but what would one expect from the political side of the hidden face of the world.

She finished penning the letter, sealing it with the symbol of the eighth sacrament as the first of the report she would need to send in regularly. Less the church dictated that she had become rogue and send an enforcer or god knows what. Similarly she needed to pen a letter to the mages association of anything notable going on. Especially if there was an additional presence of other organisations.

It was a lot of pressure and as she would whittle down the point of her feathered quill, she'd cut her finger on the knife due to her loss of concentrating on such a thing. she placed the bloodied finger between her lips to stem the gentle blood flow, Her command seals glistening in the candlelit gloom, She hoped the masters would have gotten her memo... and would begin to approach here shortly. It wasn't normal for a overseer to provide a curt invite. But this 'war' was anything but normal given the nature of those forsaken schisms.

She would return to writing, wondering then if any of the masters had fallen into one of the schisms by pure accident. She chuckled quietly at the macabre thought, it wouldn't be unlikely given how curious people could be... Now then who would be the first to arrive to the locations she had gave, curious as she was to see what would happen if a properly elected master was to enter such a schism, her servant would report the findings and then if her praxis was successful... Her servant should bring those back to her for her to brief them further no? Simple.

The Events that have transpired thusly

A strange summoning

For what should have been a standard summoning it was truely anything but, Though the minds of the servants had been filled with the important knowledge of the common era as the grail had always done, to prevent servants feeling out of time and place. They had been left with a distinct void on what their purpose for summoning was, All that the servants would know is that they had manifested before their masters without a conventional summoning ritual having occured...

In an interval spanning two days, Masters and servants would have been free to at least try to adapt to eachother to understand their new dynamic or perhaps to understand each other somewhat as no news had been given to them up to this point. During this interval you new prospective masters would find a message, be it attached to a familiars foot hovering near you like some annoying nuisance or shoved hastily inside the partition of your car door. The seeking familiars had with some difficulty found you, by using the distinct magical trace of the command seals upon your body.

The attached message simply said.
"Nakano Broadway Basement, Sukiyabashi Crossing, May 5th, The Witching Hour until 4am" Two distinct locations and a specific date and time to reach them. A cryptic message to be sure but it was the message given to each master. It was then left to the digression of the masters to decided where they went. For it didn't matter to the message sender.

Strange.....very strange.

The term was the most appropriate to describe Fran's situation and it truly was. For one thing, she wasn't formally summoned through the Heroic Spirit Summoning Ritual, standing in either a lavish chamber or a secluded workshop of a Magus. No, instead she came into being in the back of a, as she learned, car of her current Master, Ismael. The shocked expression the man had then told her that he was just as blindsided by these events as she was. In fact, surprise also showed something else about him. Hell, she felt it through the recently established Master-Servant connection they now had and it filled her with heaps of concern.

Ismael, with absolutely no doubt, was NOT a Magus.

This revelation brought a whole slew of questions. How did this happen? WHY did this happen? How was she able to be summoned by, not a mage, but a normal person with completely no talent or knowledge of magecraft? That shouldn't even be possible. This was turning out to be more out of the ordinary than the last Grail War she was summoned to.....if what was happening right now was a Grail War to begin with. Suffice to say, this put Ismael's safety as top priority. Fran felt certain that her Master didn't even know the full implications of what it means to have those Command Seals on his hand. And it's not like Fran herself can explain everything to him, as she wasn't that....outspoken.

All that aside though, Ismael was turning out to be a rather considerate and jolly gentleman of a Master, if these last two days were telling her anything. She couldn't remember the last time she giggled this much, let alone enjoying the company. So while the entire situation did turn out to be really weird, it wasn't all that bad.

However, reality returned to the forefront when, as they were making their way back toward Ismael's car, the Berserker spotted the fleeing form of a bird-like familiar, a note placed on the car door handle. With a wary grumble, Fran scanned her surroundings, trying to pick up on any nearby Servants as her Master retrieved and read the note.

Abigail

Her blue eyes slowly flickered open.

For a few moments her mind was swimming. She didn't know where she was, or what she was doing. She knew one thing for certain, and that was the fact she had been dead for hundreds of years.

The fact that she had been summoned as a Servant.

But beyond that...

For several moments there was simply nothing in her head but that one, simple fact. It was like she had awakened from extremely heavy sleep extremely suddenly, and been left with a head full of fog.

Slowly, however, gears in her mind began to turn. Her name. Her class. Her nature.

Just like waking up and being so groggy her mind didn't work, she had to catch up to herself.

"Mmm..."

One oversized sleeve rubbed at her eye as she sat up, body feeling considerably lighter as she did.

She brushed her blonde hair back as she drew herself completely into a sitting position.

The child known as Abigail Williams stretched her arms.

Tokyo.

This was the city of Tokyo, in the nation of Japan... it was somewhere so far away from where she had lived that it was hard for her to even think about it. But now she was here.

A part of her thought it would be appropriate to pray, thanking God for the knowledge to make all of this less frightening, but the rest of her couldn't help but be curious. She was summoned as a Servant, but...

"... Hello? Um..."

There was no-one here. Wasn't there supposed to be a summoner...?

All she could see was steel and concrete around her. And lights beyond the edge of the surface she was standing upon... Oh, was she on top of a building...?

Unsteadily, she rose to her feet, picking up the teddy bear that had appeared alongside her with one hand and clutching it to her chest as she proceeded to the edge of the building.

Abigail's blue eyes widened.

"Uwaah..."

A fantastical lightshow opened up before her. She had been granted knowledge, to be certain, but to see the glow of modern city, the lights spreading out in all directions around her, the vehicles moving far below...

It was so pretty...

... Not being able to share this view with someone was a shame, because it was pretty like a sunset over the ocean while the whales were out! In a different way, though.

It wasn't like anything she'd seen before in life.

After a few moments of awestruck staring, she peered over the edge of the building. She may not have known exactly why she had been summoned, but what she did know is that she had to get down.

"Hmmm... This building is so tall..."

But as a Servant, that wasn't an issue, was it?

Abigail stepped off the building.

The wind rushed past her, whipping her hair back. She clutched Yugo close to her chest with one hand, keeping her hat on with the other, as she descended.

She was a little jolted by her sudden landing, but it didn't hurt or anything like that.

The young blonde girl straightened.

"I hope I can figure out why I'm here..." she half murmured to herself, a small frown on her face as she did. As pretty as the lights were, she couldn't lose track of how strange this all was!

But there was something drawing her attention. Somehow, she felt compelled to head to the west of her location...

And so Abigail Williams went, seeking answers.

Quinn Corkhill

For Quinn, life had gone from zero to... well, a really, really huge number, in a very short span of time. He'd just grown accustomed to living by himself, and all of a sudden he had been met with an unexpected roommate. Before him in his lonely little apartment suite in the middle of the night, randomly one late evening that stretched from one of the PM to one of the AM variety, he was suddenly in the presence of a stunning blonde. Well... not to be creepy, or anything, of course. More like, Mr. Corkhill couldn't help but be absolutely flabbergasted. Had he developed some kind of superpower to summon women into his house? What kind of magecraft was that? No, no, no, no, no. She was wearing armor and had the look of somebody who'd kill him instantly if he said the wrong thing. This was a very serious situation, and his own stupid dude brain didn't have time to work when there were so many other things that he needed to ask.

"Hey, hey, hey. Uh. Hey. What, uh. What're you doing in my room? Wrong suite number?", Quinn would finally speak aloud after a few seconds of being stunned silent and with a million thoughts rushing through his head and a stinging pain on his hand; the result, of course, could be nothing else but a veritable word salad.

If the lady knight wouldn't immediately seek to chop off his head, Quinn would look down and raise up the back of his hand, with a red tattoo in the shape of a circle split into three fragments and a small spiked triangle branching outward from each one, appearing and being seen freely for both him and the woman before him to see. "Ah. Ah, I see. Yep, totally makes sense. Must've gotten this from a... from someone. Somewhere. Yeah, for sure."

Quinn just stared up blankly at the knight woman and, in the background, noises were emitting from his television. Moments prior he had been playing video games as normal for this hour of the night, and by forgetting to pause in the confusion and panic, some random enemy in the game had walked up and killed his character. Typical. Maybe that was revenge for any time he'd made fun of someone older for telling him to "just pause it". That wasn't important, though. Not anymore.

Assuming she didn't kill him then and there, they would get to know about each other as time passed. Quinn would do his best not to piss off this lady knight, and was at the complete mercy of her whims on whether or not she would tell him of her existence and reason for randomly appearing before him. Despite being a mage, he wasn't a very well-versed or ambitious one and had abandoned conventional methods. Moreover, he had no knowledge of whatever this entire event was or why it existed; a complete newbie in every sense of the word, a greenhorn, and a slacker. Despite this, a familiar in the form of a crow would eventually find its way to the fifth floor of the apartment Quinn resided in, pecking at his bedroom window until he yielded to the annoying thing, delivering him a message with locations.

"Hmmm... well, Nakano's closer, and it's a pretty cool place. You've never been there, huh? Let's get out there and see what this is about, 'kay?", Quinn would say to the lady knight after reading the message of what could very obviously be some kind of death trap, hoping she would agree.

For someone who literally lived her whole life under a rock, Othis was doing pretty well in the world's most bustling metropolis. Sure, sometimes walking around Tokyo felt like wading through a swamp of people, but she could deal with it. Thanks to the fact that Atlas' students were more at home with technology, it wasn't hard for Othis to get used to things like the, seemingly unlimited, credit card she was given before leaving Atlas.

Said credit card was a literal gift from the Heavens, considering the Servant Othis found herself paired to. She was never intended to be a Master in this conflict, but rather an analyst. However, all bets were off as soon as she got a set of command seals and a pretty... strange Roman woman who was a little too "energetic" for Othis to keep up with all the time.

"I believe we should make our way to Nakano. If my calculations are right, I'll find something—or rather someone—I was asked to meet before leaving Atlas if we go there. Is that fine with you, Rider?" Othis asked as she went through her preparations for the night. The half-dressed Alchemist observed the streets from the window of the rather expensive hotel room while drying her ashen-colored hair. The reason why she rented a room in this hotel for Rider and herself after the former insisted on staying in a place that had the most luxurious bathroom they could get in the city.

Not that Othis could complain. The water was pretty good.

So she'd been summoned, then...?

It was time to show the world she'd always been worthy of the throne.

It was time to... time to...

...

Mordred paused for a few moments, furrowing her brow. What the hell was this? She'd been summoned, that was for sure. But this wasn't a Holy Grail War. Sure, she got all the knowledge she needed to know what was up with the current time period, but she had no clue why she was here in the first place.

On one hand... no way she was going to complain about being in the world again. After all, even if it wasn't a Grail War, the Red Knight could demonstrate just why she was worthy of being King.

But on the other hand...?

"... Oi oi oi," Mordred began, her helmet clanking as it slid apart and to the sides to reveal her face, her green eyes regarding the young man who currently shared the room she had appeared in, "You're my Master, right?"

For the moment, there was no time for formalities. Not that she had ever cared for them.

Blowing off everything he said, she buried Clarent's tip into the carpet.

"This is Tokyo, huh? The hell did you do, summoning a great knight like me when there's not even a Grail War?"

She placed her free hand against her chest, cocking her head as she did.

On one hand, the chance to show the world what she was made of again was great, but if this guy summoned her for something frivolous it'd piss her off.

"Nakano? What about Nakano? I'm still wondering what the hell's going on!"

Uncerimoniously, the blonde knight marched over and snatched the note out of the young man's hand, reading it over.

"... Tch, that's way too cryptic," Mordred let out a huff, having left a rather notable chunk of the floor gouged out with the tip of her sword.

Saitō Yume

Yume was honestly quite surprised at the message that had found its way to her person. Not from any difficulty in finding her, of course, she made little effort to go out of her way to remain hidden. No, the impressive part was that the message had been handed over in such a way that the person leaving it failed to expose themselves. Not that much skill was needed to slide a message through the door of the apartment she was using... the clever part was finding where she was staying without being detected when she was in.

Whoever it was obviously had to have some tie to this servant-summoning business; the majority of her contacts in Tokyo had already been met or sent messages over the course of weeks. People appearing and disappearing... if it hadn't been Tokyo, then maybe nobody else would have ever gotten involved. It was the sort of thing a demon hunter existed for.

The rest of her contacts had to be reintroduced to the idea, of course. That was what the past two days had been for; there was nothing like getting to know someone by seeing how they fought, even if beating up a bunch of yakuza toughs was a waste of both her skills and Assassin's. Now that she had a proper low-level information network in place as the bosses got the reminder that Yume was very much not dead and able to come find them... maybe she could find whatever was behind these disappearances. Not that it seemed so simple anymore, with a seventy year dead martial artist being summoned and bound to her person.

Stepping off the platform at Ginza station and heading out onto the street, Yume was struck by something very obvious: there weren't enough people around. It should always be busier than this, and the number of people was only decreasing in the walk to Sukiyabashi.

"Notice anything?"

Nero

Skin soft and glistening, hair still damp... it was only too clear what part of the hotel suite the Emperor had been enjoying only minutes before, even if one were to look past her considerable state of undress. A state that was getting considerably less reaction than she had hoped for... really, this Master was almost no fun, not even giving enough of a response to tell if she was possibly interested or not. But she was able to maintain a suitable standard that, while by no means as palatial as Nero's tastes would have desired, was more than acceptable.

She might still need to go looking for more sources of attention, though. Perhaps staging some sort of concert...

"Nakano? If you must meet someone there, then I will accompany you for safety."

Ismael

Ismael stared into the eyes of a woman he has never met before. She was cute, yet strange, he never remembered drinking the night before, hell he didn't even remember drinking the past few nights. Yet here he is, in this back seat bed, finding himself looking at a woman, in a wedding dress.

Ismael could not describe how odd his situation truly was, he woke up with this woman. His first instinct was to be natural, be courteous, and be funny. Every now and again he askes her a few things but realizes she isn't very good with her words. Honestly, she speaks literal grunts, so the conversations can slightly hard, yet he finds a way. Yet the thing that really makes this entire situation enjoyable is when he hears her giggle, it's this heartwarming thing that leaves a smile on his face.

Later on in this day, he decided he needed to figure out what kinda situation he is in. So he had led a conversation for a little while to figure out what's going on. The first thing was he asked her if he and she were married to each other, as her outfit was strange and honestly he felt a weird connection to her. As he noticed her start blushing, he thought he hit the jackpot on ideas, until she started to pout and flick his forehead and looked at him with some disapproval look. He understood quickly after this that they were not married. Honestly, at that point, he has no clue what their relationship is. Why they are here, and even why she was in his car.

Yet through the days, he found nothing really else out. However, she seemed to have no place to go, so he thought her staying with him was not the worst thing on earth. Honestly, she was cute, so that was a plus. However, she seemed to have a bit of an appetite, as one night on his way from a shopping trip he found a strange bird go and, leave a note? Honestly, that was an amazing thing to him! That had to be the coolest thing! As he went over to quickly see what the letter entailed. Honestly, he had no clue what it could be, however, he was ecstatic because that had to be the most Harry Potter thing he has ever seen.

He took the note and read it aloud so his companion could hear,
"Nakano Broadway Basement, Sukiyabashi Crossing, May 5th, The Witching Hour until 4 am"
. He didn't know what to do with this information, yet he knew this might give him an answer to his situation. So he thinks for a moment as he says, "Hey, it seems there is someone who wants to meet us at…either Nakano or Sukiyabashi?"

Ismael thinks for a moment, trying to remember which is closer as he then continues, "How about we go? Might hold something about our weird situation? And honestly, I love the idea of a little mystery like this". Without really waiting for an answer Ismael starts opening the passenger seat for Fran to enter. Once she does he then goes to his side and starts getting in and heading off. Not knowing what to find, yet he is always a man of adventure. Who knows, maybe they can get an answer once they are there. All he knows is that someone sent one of the cooler messages he has received.

Nakano Broadway

The Nakano Broadway, a iconic landmark in the Nakano district of Tokyo was for the most part surprisingly absent, having been closed for 'Routine Cleaning' meaning the only people present in the building would likely be a skeleton crew of workers. There was also a homeless man sleeping in a nearby allyway, as well as a passed out man on a bench on the opposite street. Likely from a night of drinking.

A decent stroke of luck for the two masters and their servants. But also a rather spot of bad luck potentially for the workers inside. Given that they would be for the most part going to get added to the list of mysterious deaths in the Tokyo Metropolis area. In such a beloved place no less. Simple scouting would give this much at least.

However without even scouting, the mere proximity to the Broadway would feel slightly sickening for mages possessing magic circuits. A unknown headache inducing pressure. As if the very molecules in the air were saturated with something thick and viscous. This same pressure would also be felt by the servants due to them being beings formed from magic. However those with no such Magical circuits could not even detect this 'gas-like' saturation of something. Which would mean that a normal human would have no warning that something was wrong.

It would start to become obvious with the passing time that whomever had called you here wasn't outside the building, and you'd have to get inside to even get a better bearing of what was going on. Of course how you'd both enter is up to you... or Even what you'd do when you feel each other nearby.

Sukiyabashi Crossing

Sukiyabashi Crossing, A scramble crossing not uncommon in Tokyo. Though much less populated then during its day-life and slightly less then normal amount of people enjoying the tokyo night life due to the recent news. There was still people walking about. Unaffected by the strange instance in the center of the crossing. Vehicles were not driving at hours this late. Because if they were they might sink in what appeared to be a visible distortion in reality. Visible only to servants and masters that possessed magical circuits. The Distortion took the form of a 'refraction' of light. The area behind the distortion appeared well 'distorted' from all angles viewed it seemed like a singularity of space. Seeping out from this 'distortion' was trace amounts of water vapor that quickly disappeared indicating they came from a more magical origin.

The Night-life ignorance and self-distractions would mean that nobody would really be noticing nore attempt to step towards the centre of the road. Less of course you were but a curious master. Though with both of you approaching this meeting location. Would you be meeting up on good terms, or would you consider the others presence to be an ambush...

Still then as you'd get closer to the distortion. That magical 'heaviness' in the air would be felt, and the headaches for mages and servants alike would worsen the closer you got to the point of distortion. But where on earth was the person you were supposed to meet?

The last couple of days had been an interesting experience for Assassin. Being summoned to a Holy Grail War without any specific directions, in the 21st century Japan wasn't something he expected to ever go through.

The world had evolved a lot ever since his death. It was interesting to see the fruits of the current society. However, one thing didn't change.

No matter where he went, he never found someone capable of defeating him.

Even when Assassin spent the past two days holding himself back to a 'human' level, none of the yakuza his Master seemed decided to round up could get anywhere close to harming him in hand to hand combat. One would think that in a country were the usage of firearms was so limited even criminals had a hard time getting their hand on them, there would be thugs better at martial arts but even those who seemed to know a thing or two about them ever succeeded in landing a strike on Assassin. Naturally, any who met his fist would find death in one punch. It was really worth sighing.

By the second day, Assassin had already changed from being merely a fist to dispose of his Master's enemies and began training some of the yakuza thugs who showed promise in the martial arts. Without a doubt, his younger self wouldn't tire of beating down these thugs, but in his current age, Assassin was more of a teacher than a fighter. Even if it was just as a pastime, he felt like doing it while not on duty.

On the evening of the second day, they finally caught a lead of the reason behind this strange Holy Grail War. Or should it be said that the lead caught them? Nevertheless, the order didn't matter and soon enough Assassin would find himself exiting the same train as his Master. Anyone who looked at him would see, or feel nothing other than the serene aura of a calm, old man. Thanks to his Sphere Boundary, Assassin was able to cast as much of his presence as he felt like, but at the same time, he would be able to notice any other Servants nearby with ease. It could be said that when it came to reconnaissance, their duo had a massive advantage.

"I sense no Servants at the very least. However, the air feels heavier in that direction. I could investigate further if that's what your command," Assassin answered his Master's question while looking towards the crossing.

Fran

"Mmmmm....Uuuugh.", Fran mumbled in a wary tone as she stepped out of Ismael's car, closing the door behind her as she stared toward the direction of Sukiyabashi Crossing. She can already see the distortion affecting the surrounding area, as well as feeling a certain kind of pressure swelling within her head courtesy of said distortion. So far, she had not sense the presence of another Servant, but that offered her no comfort. Assassins had Presence Concealment and can get the drop on anyone from just about anywhere. For all she knew, they could very well be nearby.

The Berserker turned to see Ismael exit his car. To a normal person like her Master, he would neither see the distortion nor feeling the constricting atmosphere. This was both a good and bad thing. A good thing because he'll most likely have a clearer head. A bad thing because he would, essentially, be walking toward danger blind.

She gave a resigned sigh. Protecting him was going to be stressful, that's for sure.

"Ah.", announced Fran, calling for Ismael's attention as she pointed toward the Crossing, indicating where they needed to go.

Quinn Corkhill

"A... Grail War? Uh. I, uh... hmmm... ahaha, sorry, I have no idea what that is.", Quinn responded meekly to this knight's aggressive and hot-blooded introduction, unsure of what exactly she was even talking about or why she was here.

Rubbing the back of his head and ruffling his hair, a stupid and flustered grin was plastered to his face, unsure of exactly what kind of emotion he should be feeling right now. This was clearly supernatural and not normal, that much was plain as day. Yet... how did it happen? It was all so much to take in, and worsened at that, with the idea that any wrong word could spell his end at the hands of a very intimidating and heavily armored woman. For some guys that might sound like a fantastic way for life to end, but Quinn wasn't the sort of guy that wanted to die just yet. Not yet.

"Well, Nakano is Nakano... y'know? Heheh.", Quinn would start, chuckling at his feeble attempt at wordplay and rhymes, before coming back to the reality before him with the very not-pleased magical woman in front of him. "Uh, that is to say... for one, try not to scratch the floor with your sword, please, that'll come out of my damage deposit. And secondly, I don't know much about what's going on, who you are, or why you're here. I'm just a guy living in an apartment who knows a handful of magic tricks and that's about it. Not really the type for... well, whatever you're about or were hoping to be summoned for, exactly."

Quinn decided to be blunt about it, figuring that honeyed words or playing coy would most assuredly NOT earn him any favors with this particular person. Honesty is the best policy, isn't it? It had to be. That was the kind of world Mr. Corkhill wanted to believe in, anyway. "I'm Quinn. Quinn Corkhill. And in all honesty, I have no idea what's going on. But for either of us to get answers, Nakano would be the best bet, yeah? It's the only option for now, anyway, I think. And if we encounter any weirdos, we can just call the police or something and let them arrest whoever's behind this. Maybe.", Quinn would explain naively, hoping that it could be so simple.

Extending a hand, Quinn attempted to carry out an introduction with this woman, making one final attempt at a formal introduction or to at least learn what he should call the mysterious knight. "...Uh, not that I expect a long friendship or anything, but it'd be nice to at least have names to call each other by, right?", Quinn would blurt out after a period of silence in his ramblings and explanations, showing bluntness outwardly but having the very highest peak of anxiety on the inside.

Regardless of whether she would give up anything like a name to call her by, Quinn would insist on heading to Nakano. It was the best option, way better than sitting around, even if Nakano ended up being a trap. That is, at this point, death was preferable to the stagnancy of sitting around and wondering what this is all about without lifting a finger to find answers.

"I'll let you lead the way there. If there are any other people like you, to be honest, I dunno how long I'd last in direct confrontation. Gotta walk there, though, as I don't have any kind of transportation. Maybe on the way... you could tell me a bit more about yourself and this situation you were expecting to walk into? Like what a Master is, and all that?", Quinn looked at the knight, who he hoped was agreeable enough to accompany him to Nakano, and decided to press further by also asking her to tell him what she knows about this situation as they made their way to Nakano. All in all, a bold play for one who, at first glance, would not look so bold. In truth, a terrified and desperate gamble.

Mordred

"... Tch, you're that clueless?"

Mordred cocked her head. He didn't even know what a Grail War was? How in the hell had this guy managed to summon a Servant in the first place? The connection seemed to be fine at least, it wasn't like she was getting skimped out of magical energy or something, so the summoning had to be legit. But at the same time, he clearly had no clue how he'd summoned her in the first place. Was this some kind of accident? Had someone else done the summoning and managed to attach her to him?

Jeez, this situation pissed her off. Having no idea what was going on had left her on the wrong foot.

And now this guy was going on about calling the police or whatever? If there was something going on that required summoning a Servant, even if there was no information given to the Servant to clear up the situation, how the hell were the modern police going to do anything?

An eyebrow raised, Mordred lifted Clarent from the floor and rested the blade on her shoulder, completely ignoring his request not to damage the floor.

She wasn't going to ignore the introduction, though.

"You might not have any clue what you're doing, but you can count yourself lucky," she began, thrusting her left thumb towards her chest, voice swelling with pride at her declaration, "Because you've summoned Mordred, the one true heir to the throne of Camelot!"

She paused for a moment.

"And I guess I can explain on the way there then," she shrugged, sounding considerably less enthusiastic. She wasn't exactly thrilled about the idea of trying to explain this crap to this guy, but he was, somehow, her Master. And that meant that she had to make sure he knew what was going on. "So let's stop wastin' time and go!"

Indeed, as they walked, Mordred's explanation was probably a little less informative then Quinn would have liked, likely due to her general impatience with the entire situation among other things.

"You're a Master 'cause you summoned me as Saber, even if you don't know how that's just how it is," she said, "I'm supposed to be fighting for the Holy Grail, and I'd win, but there's no Grail here so I haven't gotten the first idea what the hell is going on."

At this point, Nakano was their only lead.

Othis finished dressing up as a bare, diminutive emperor walked into the room, and addressed her question positively. The silver-haired alchemist took the time to eye her Servant from head to toes, before reaching for her hat laying on the bed. The lack of obvious advances like on the first two days gave Othis the impression that perhaps her Servant was feeling bored. She could try to do something, but it was hard for Othis to know how to react to such advances in the first place.

"Are you going to wear something mundane while we go out or are you going to stay on your spirit form? We are going to take a taxi, so it's probably going to be hard to do the later," Othis asked as she continued to stare at the Emperor a moment more. "Maybe we should get a vehicle after tonight. I wonder what would go best with you. Perhaps a sportscar? It certainly feels like so."

"Anyway, we have plenty of time so we can leave as soon as you're done."

Saitō Yume

"We should stay together until we have a reason to split up," Yume said, walking towards the crossing. Not that she was too vulnerable on her own, it was just common sense to concentrate force until you had some idea of what was going on. Of course, with Assassin's talents it would seem like she was on her own anyway and another Servant who thought she was easy pickings would be in for a rough time... if it was that sort of situation. They didn't really know.

Given the time of night and lack of traffic, the swordswoman had no hesitation heading towards the ever denser pressure, pausing near the centre of the road with a confused expression. Moist? Why was the air moist? The headache was annoying but... no, this was simply confusing.

Even in a busy Tokyo crossing, she was likely to stand out as something unusual: all else aside, separated from the crowd like this it was impossible to mistake the enormous sword for something else, even sheathed.

Nero Claudius

The lack of reaction earned a very visible pout from Nero but, reluctantly, her normal clothing materialised da second later. As exciting as it would be to really get to grips with all the fashion possibilities on offer in a city like this, there just hadn't been time. Though mentioning acquiring a car...

Othis probably regretted just how much of the ensuing taxi journey was made up of an enthusiastic blonde extolling the virtues of various different kinds of vehicles, animals, and comparisons to chariots. Who would have guessed that modern knowledge and such a theoretically expansive skillset lent itself to going fast?

Stood outside Nakano, all that cheer seemed to drain away to be replaced with a slight frown. No matter the difference in intensity, a location that induced headaches with its presence only was not a place she wanted to stay. "Who would ask to meet at a clsoed shopping arcade? An open one would be preferable..."
