Been playing Iceborne. Took down my first Barioth since 3U, and it was really down to the wire. On the bright side, I also got the limited event layered armor, which has a very lovely qipao aesthetic on female Hunters.
That new Assassins Creed seemed interesting but from the gameplay and reviews I've seen it seems to be turning out to be just more of the same. They're supposed to have supply issues until I think April, and that's just fine by me.
It looked that way from early on and I've heard similar stuff. Definitely a bummer, Assassins Creed games can be fun but Valhalla looked worse than Odyssey early on. Hell I'd rather play Black Flag Remastered than Valhalla and I really dug the idea of fighting the Templar Knights and just Brits in general. 1776 in like 800 yehhh buddy.
If you enjoy it then hell yes enjoy the hell out of it but I would personally really like the series to return to the Altair/Ezio style or at least the Unity one.
BOAT
mechanics of Black Flag but I also enjoyed it for what it was.I personally loved the boat stuff of Black Flag but that was the last AC game I played prior to Odyssey. Syndicate looked ok but who wants to listen to British accents for a whole game.
Although I did love the British accents of the Orcs from Warhammer Space Marine.
As a fan of Kingdom Hearts in all its dumb glory, Melody of Memory is really good both as a rhythm game and as a celebration of Kingdom Hearts' MVP Yoko Shimomura. They even managed to make me remember how I felt fighting hard bosses with some of the note charts on Proud difficulty.
Does anyone actually like the animus/modern day segements of Assassin's Creed? I'm prepared to admit that I've only played bits and pieces of 1 and 2, and only played Odyssey in full but I remember really enjoying the historic sections of the game and just being frustrated that every so often I was being pulled out of that for some stuff I didn't care about.
Would having context for those segments in Odyssey have changed my mind about them or do you think I'd still just be trying to fast track my way back to Ancient Greece?

Give it too me straight, Fab,
Did they do Kairi good with this one??
That depends on your idea of good. She's...on the main menu! And she's the narrator for the recaps! And...they sure do promise that Kingdom Hearts 4 will have her doing things....but also probably it'll be Riku's game! No, really, despite spending all of KH3 training off screen only to do nothing in the end, the story stuff in Melody of Memory essentially has Kairi going "Hey, I'm gonna train with Aqua" while Riku goes off to where Kingdom Hearts 4 will happen.
I'm bout'a throw down with ya'll:
Goat Simulator is better than The Last of Us 2.
