In the grand music room, Caspian Grey, now dressed in all black, no longer finding a need to brighten up his appearance since he was in the comfort of his barren, empty, and cold estate, studied the harp and its vacant seat. He sat in his designated area, across from it, letting his own graceful instrument rest between his knees. A deep resounding hum filled the room, as he dragged his bow on the strings. He was the only breathing thing in this room, in the whole Grey Manor even. Aside from the butler and maid, the rest were inanimate objects that couldn’t talk or tell him everything was going to be okay.

To break the silence, he played music. While his mood wanted to play something dark, due to the constant, lingering force pressing him down, the anvil on his chest, he decided against his negativity and let hope drive his left-hand fingers that danced at the top. In tandem, his right hand moved back and forth, working together to create the sound of beautiful Silver Linings. Thinking back of the events of today, how the WSYX ABC 6 news cast utilized his tip to disclose the merge to the public, his continued observations of the sad state of the school (but the potential it had to be something beautiful), and his talk with Alina, which ultimately led to his talk with Niki.

Niki.

Caspian couldn’t say if he and them were on better terms or not. If issues had been resolved, he would know, but he was relieved he approached them, at least. Niki didn’t stay long enough to give him much of a chance to explain himself, but it was still progress. It was the first time Niki ever yelled at him like that, which shows they cared, and now he knows why they were hurt. "And if you seriously are trying to tell me that you don't remember saying any of that. Honey, I think you might need even more therapy than me."

His memory was spotty and unfortunately, he couldn’t remember last semester well. He remembered he was worried about Niki and how they didn’t keep in contact with him as much as he’d prefer, but after that? He didn’t remember the guy Niki mentioned. The guy that said things Cas did not know he was capable of saying. A side of him that shouldn’t exist, but was apparently buried deep. A side that felt like the person his father wanted him to be. The man he deliberately tries to not be.

Sighing to himself, Caspian knew what he needed to do, but part of him was scared to tell his therapist that he thought there was more to his problem than anger. That there was a part of him he knew nothing about and was scared to know anything about. For now, he would immerse himself in his music and not think of the future or the past.

Somewhere in him felt like his sister was playing with her harp, the one she is permitted to travel with (they have an instrument for the mansion and one for orchestra) in her new school, along with him. He missed her. He wanted to talk to her. He wanted to be with her because in these moments she would know just what to say. She would know how to push him in the direction he needed to go to feel content with himself. He hated how human he felt sometimes. Part of him wished he did become the monster that his father wanted him to be, but he knew if he succumbed to that darkness, he would never be able to change the Grey legacy for the better. The family portrait, while seemingly perfect on the outside, was peeling and needed to be restored, or better yet, renewed.

As he sailed at sea with his music, his eyes closed and the sound waves enveloped every fiber of his being, becoming one with his soul. He could feel his phone vibrate in his pant’s pocket, and yet, he needed this moment to himself before letting the reality of the world crash into him again. Before checking his phone, he let the gentle repose offer him that gateway of reflection. When he opened his eyes and his ode to himself concluded, as if he dropped the anchor and took a second to breathe in the calm of his surroundings, Caspian could see his sister’s smile, encouraging him to just keep swimming.

After breathing in, and out, he reached into his pocket to see who had texted him. To his surprise, it was none of his close friends. Instead, it was Christian. Someone he considered a friendly acquaintance, who so happens to think about even the quiet people of Liberty High. It seems that Christian wanted to see if he’d be attending the first party of the year.

Hesitant, Caspian sat still and deeply stared at the message, wondering if he should or should not go. You don’t expect to get Callie back with that attitude, do you? Go. She’d want you to. Grimacing to himself, he argued with the voice inside of his head, Me going wouldn’t make a difference. I don’t do well at parties. Not without her. Who would even notice me? Most of my friends need space or are preoccupied. Shaking his head, he continued to think to himself, Do you really think you’ll help this school with that attitude? Stop relying on Callie. You need to do this for yourself.

Leaning back in his seat, listening to both the angel and the devil on his shoulders, Caspian closed his eyes, taking in the pros and the cons, coming to a decision.

The Boys had went their separate ways and Spike was deliberately going out of his way to not be seen by Christian and Eleazar. He wasn't ready to work his night away at the grill. They should've just ordered pizza. Yeah, he loved burgers, but pizza meant he didn't' have to work. Going straight to the table with the glowy shit, Spike was quick to accessorize. Glasses that glowed, check. Necklaces that glowed, check. A lightsaber that lit up this world, fuck yeah check! Looking around him, Spike sneaked a second lightsaber and then rushed outside to be a kid.

The school mascot took time to appreciate the scenery (girls, girls were the scenery) and then exited the back door, only to immediately jump in the nearest bush when he saw the grill station. His eyes went from the boy behind the grill to a sight he didn't expect to see... a bouncy house. Tensing up, Spike recalled his dream earlier this week, which now felt like an awful premonition or some shit. "Open your eyes," Minty had said. In the beginning of the week, he would think those words would mean open your eyes and see that I love you more than any other guy. But now? She was gone. She just up and left, pushed him away, and now he knows exactly what his dream meant. Minty and him could never be. She didn't care for him. Not like he did for her.

Clenching his hold on one of the lightsabers, Spike bit the inside of his cheek. Not tonight. He wasn't going to think about her tonight. They were never an item. They slept together for funsies. Nothing more, nothing less. Gallantly, he snuck around the many people of the party, going straight to the thing that triggered his emotions. The motherfucking bouncy house. If these lightsabers were actually real, he'd destroy this omen with a stab, and a jab, and a pow. Twirling his hands around, dual-wielding the swords, Spike pretended to be a jedi going in for the kill, looking completely badass and flexing his baton skills.

Only to jump (and yelp) when he saw something move in the corner of his eyes, coming from the woods that led to the lake. When did that kid get there?! A boy wearing all black with the palest of skins and prominent dark circles leaned against a tree. It was clear he didn't want to be noticed, keeping to himself and away from the crowd's eyes, while he smoked. His expression was hard to read, but his reaction of taking the cigarette out of his lips and letting the natural air extinguish it, revealed to Spike that this boy didn't like this nasty habit but needed it for one reason or another.

Awkwardly standing up, putting the lightsabers behind his back, kind of embarrassed for some reason, Spike watched the boy glide to the garbage to dispose of his cigarette, "...Liberty?" Of course he was a Liberty kid, Spike. You know basically everyone and you clearly do not know this kid. Honestly? This kid reminded him of... hm, what was he thinking about?

"Yes, what gave it away?" Making his way to the ball of energy, Caspian broke the distance between them, to introduce himself.

"Uh, probably the pants. Nice pants like that don't last too long here. Whether it's glitter or glow paint, your pants won't stay black forever." A vampire! This kid reminded him of a VAMPIRE. With widen eyes, Spike gained inspiration randomly and now needed to know his name, "Liberty, Rosefell, that shit doesn't matter anymore, right?"

Amused, yet staring at Spike with the dullest expression, it was probably because of the natural apathy he gave off, Caspian nodded in agreement, "It shouldn't."

Hopping closer to the vampire, causing Caspian to step back in caution, Spike offered the end of the lightsaber for the mysterious boy to shake, "I'm Spike!"

"Caspian." So this was Spike. The boy who talked on the intercom and the boy that everyone in Rosefell knew, for better or for worse. Looking at the lightsaber, Caspian asked, "...do you want to fence?" Why else would this kid be offering a glowing sword?

"What?! For real? You'll spar with me?" Shooketh. This kid who didn't look like he had a childish side was willing to swing lightsabers with him. You really shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Maybe meeting this boy was fate. Maybe they both needed a simple meeting to make them feel better. Unbeknownst to each other, they both were missing someone and somehow this first meeting brightened up their demeanor. It was like two worlds meeting and seeing that on the other side, there were people willing to meet in the middle. Smiling to himself, Spike could see the silver lining of the merge. Maybe this year wouldn't be as bad as everyone thought it would be.

Unfortunately, once Spike handed his extra lightsaber to Bloodwave, wow - he was a fucking genius, he could hear his name being called. Damn. He'd been seen. "Oh man, dude. I'mma make sure to find you later. We need to talk. Maybe after I have a shot or two, but for now... duty calls and by duty, it has nothing to do with the booty. Why don't you go to the dance floor? I'm sure someone like you got moves like Jagger. Your dark and mysterious thing is definitely cool and I'm sure a lady will want to peel all those layers off to see what's underneath the edge."

Tilting his head, holding the lightsaber now, Caspian muttered, "Thank you?"

"Or boy! I don't know your type but I can promise you someone would definitely be DTF." There was another SPIKE shouted and grumbling to himself, the mascot yelled back, "UGH, FUCK. I'M COMING, CHILL! CAN'T YOU SEE ME MAKING FRIENDS!" He was proud of himself for finding a new comic book character in his story, but now he had to work. Playtime would have to wait. Time to flip burgers.

Sad, so sad, he won't get to make out with a girl right away. Heading to Eleazor to either relieve him of the grill, or grill with him, leaving Caspian bewildered and with a lightsaber, Spike dramatically sighed, "I'm here, I'm here, I'm here. What did I miss? And bruh, we'll need to make way more than that if we want to appease the drunk people."

Bringing attention to the food, Spike went beside the other boy to get to work, when a random girl approached him, he joked, "Welcome to Good burger. Home of the Good Burger. Can I take your order?"

It was with an emphatic shove that Theo pushed the girl that was straddling his waist off of him and onto the other side of the bed. As she nearly rolled to the floor, he pulled himself up and moved over to the night stand to take a drink from the bottle of water there. As the bottle neck reached his lips, he turned his cold blues back for just a second.

”You’re still here?”

As he returned to the water to start drinking, the girl gathered her clothes and hurried out of the room without even getting dressed. Placing the bottle back down onto the counter top, Theodore made his way over to a large mirror and took a look at his naked form. He noted a small scratch on his left bicep and shook his head in annoyance more than anything else. It was a blemish on his otherwise perfect appearance which he despised; after all appearances were everything.

”Fucking cheerleaders”

Moving to the en-suite bathroom; Theo climbed into the shower and turned the pressure to near scalding temperature; just the way he liked it. Amy was a perfect warm up for the night ahead. She was good to get the blood pumping but not much else and Theo was the type that needed to be warmed up for what he was dealing with tonight; the first Rosefell party of the year. He still couldn’t believe that their schools were now merged and they chose Rosefell of all places as the new base of operations. It was damn ridiculous. Still, a party was a party and it was at Christians house after all so maybe it wouldn’t be too bad; if only he wasn’t so nice as to let the riffraff in.

Exiting the shower, he walked by his wall of trophies towards his closet. The Franchise a moniker he had earned through years of hard work at Liberty High. A mathlete, a debate champion, he sat on the student council AND he was the best defensive player in the state with the most sacks in a single game and season. In a sea of golden children, Theo was a diamond that shone just that little bit brighter, at least in his own head.

He had all but kept his head down during the first week of school; getting to grips with his new surroundings and the new pieces to play with on his chessboard. From first impressions; money didn’t particularly play a part in the social hierarchy of the lesser beings but instead it was attitude and achievement. This was fine; Theo knew how to get both. He would simply continue his winning ways on the field and as far as the populace? The inherent hatred for Liberty kids was obvious so having one be on their side was an easy play. This would have to be a long game if he wasn’t going to make it work and the first move he had to make was at this party.

Once he was dressed in some fine clothing that were not too fine, this was a party involving the Rosefell lot after all, he left his bedroom and began to descend the spiral staircase towards the main foyer. The mansion which was only a few blocks away from Christians sat empty as it often did. Theo’s parents were on the road like they always were and he was left for his own devices if not for…

“THEO!” That.

As soon as he had reached the bottom step, Theo was all but tackled by a young girl who was deceptively strong for her size.

“Are you going to Christian’s party? Can I come? I want come.Pleaseletmecome.Comeoooooon”

Her words all but blended together into one sound which was classic Bronwyn; her mouth moved faster than her head. Theo blamed it on the ADHD most of the time but sometimes he did wonder if she really was just that annoying.

”Not happening”

“...but..”

”I said no, Bronwyn. Don’t make me repeat myself. You know what happens when you don’t listen to me” Theo’s tone was forceful as his younger sister backed away slowly with a fearful look in her eye and she leaned back against the wall with a defeated sigh.

”If this was just Liberty maybe but there are Rosefell kids here, Wyn and I do not trust them as far as I could throw them. Especially not with you” He put his finger beneath her chin and lifted her downed head up

”Chin up and mouth shut and I’ll take you skating tomorrow how about that?” A bright smile crossed Bronwyn's pretty face as she ziplocked her lips and skipped away down the long corridor of their home towards the kitchen.

Picking up the crate of craft beers that he had asked the maid to get for him, Theo signed before making his way towards the door. ”Fucking little psycho I swear to God”

Theodore made his way out of the mansion and began the short walk towards Christian’s palace. He could see the lights from his own place so he knew the spot would be jumping. As soon as he turned the corner onto the street and saw the mixture of junkets and high performance vehicles littered up and down the once clean sidewalk, a sick feeling hit his gut. These people didn’t fucking belong here, of that there was no question.

Entering through the front door, Theo inhaled all of his negative feelings through his nose and bottled them up for later use. A broad smile crossed his mouth as he put in his mask and walked into his own personal hell.

Raven was currently in the piano room of her grandparents home. Sitting at the piano bench, a bottle of Absolute Vodka to her right, Raven had zero plans of going to tonight's party. Playing The Sound Of Silence while quietly humming along, the young woman heard the vibrations coming from her phone, signaling that she had a notification. Doing her best to fight the urge to check and see what was going on, Raven eventually caved and checked her phone.

It was Alina begging for help. The Zabrecky twins must have decided to go to Christians party - a thought that made Raven laugh quietly to herself as she took another drink from the bottle. It appeared that Alina was currently alone at the party, with Niki and Cas being nowhere in sight. With a sigh, Raven quickly texted her friend back to say that she would be there in thirty minutes.

Ordering herself an Uber, Raven had just enough time to make sure her eyes were painted the darkest shade of black possible. Her current outfit would have to do, as she didn’t have the desire or will to change. The brunette wasn’t even planning to go to tonight's party, but since Alina sent and SOS, she supposed she could make an exception.

Grabbing her bottle of Vodka, Raven was sure to take a few extra chugs of liquid courage. Coming out of a depressive episode was hard work, and if alcohol was the only thing that was going to help her get through the night then so be it.

With her grandparents gone out to dinner, Raven didn’t have to worry about being seen stumbling down the stairs until she could regain her composure walking through the living room. Grabbing her keys, Raven quickly left a note for her grandparents on the table by the door letting them know not to worry.

The ride over to Christians took less time than she had originally thought. Sending Alina a quick text to let her know she was there, Raven was sure to rate her Uber driver five stars, and leave a generous cash tip.

Walking towards the door, Raven felt her stomach begin to knot. A familiar figure was standing in the entryway, currently being greeted by Christian. Raven would know the back of that bastard's head anywhere. Side effects of watching someone walk away a countless amount of times.

Shoving her way by Theo, Raven was sure to turn back around and give him the bird before continuing on her search for Alina.

To say that the start of Stephanie’s senior year had been a disaster was an understatement.

In less than an hour after stepping foot inside Rosefell High, the young woman had been called into the principal’s office and suspended for the reminder of the week. Shaking with outrage at the injustice, Spice had tried to both defend her actions and demand that Colin be punished as well (he had dented in her car with a sharp kick to the front bumper, after all). But the principal wasn’t having any of it. There was no evidence, he said, of Colin causing any damage to her property. For all he knew, the dent could have been there for a while. There were, however, plenty of witnesses to their little spat and to the solid punch to the face that had effectively broken his nose. So instead of wasting her breath, he told her to be grateful Colin had no interest in pressing charges, and to go straight home unless she wanted to make things any worse for her than they already were.

Furious, the raging Spice had stormed out of the office like a bat out of hell, her mind racing with all the ways she could show Mr. Jameson that nobody fucked with her and got away with it. But any plans she had to get back at the man were thwarted by the presence of her very angry aunt waiting for her at the parking lot. Once at home, she’d gotten chewed out a second time by her aunt, and then a third time by her parents via a very tense video call. In the end, Stephanie Cross had not only been suspended from school, but grounded for the next two weeks with her car keys taken away from her. The only reason she didn’t have her phone taken from her too was so she’d had a way of staying in contact in case of emergency.

Any normal individual would have taken this time alone to reflect on the mistakes made and set off on a journey of bettering themselves. Spice, however, was anything but normal. The more time she spent locked up in her bedroom mindlessly scrolling through the same social media apps, the angrier she got at the whole situation. Why was she the only one lying on her ass, staring at the same four walls and ceiling while Colin was out and about, teasing and taunting her via social media? He had been just as guilty, if not more, of this whole situation happening in the first place. All she had done was tell him a little white lie about her late arrival, and the dude had set off on a verbal tirade against her, and put his hands on her. Did nobody care about seeking the truth and justice? Clearly not, or else they both would have suffered the consequences of her actions. But noooo: let’s put all blame onto the little pothead goth girl of every bad thing that happens, and not on the poor, drunk, local school junkie.

Frankly, it was all fucking bullshit.

Stephanie had had enough. When word came in about some Liberty dude’s house party, the raven-haired girl knew it was the perfect opportunity to get back at her ex. Fuelled by pure spite, Spice had scourged her closet for the perfect outfit, done her makeup as flawlessly as only she knew, and called out an Uber. Twenty minutes later, as she stepped foot in Christian’s opulent home, there was only one word ringing loud and clear across her mind in an endless loop.

Revenge.

Narrowly escaping her brother’s watchful eye, Liv Howard placed one white Ked in front of the other and made her way towards the thumping and bumping of the party. She followed the students to the ajar front door and as soon as she walked in behind them, overwhelmed was a vast understatement as to how she began to feel. The music was blaring, there were people everywhere she looked, and the overpowering scents of weed, beer, and Axe body spray seemed to dominate and throw off the rest of her senses.

It was a high school party all right.

Anxiety was quickly replaced by excitement when the girl remembered that this was supposed to be fun! She should be thrilled to be at a gathering like this and the blonde regained her composure, maneuvering her way through the crowd to get a better sense of her surroundings. As she passed by her classmates, she could feel their eyes burning into the back of her head as well as her backside. Naively thinking that they were only looking at her because she wasn’t with her brother as per usual, she continued without giving the premise much thought. They were definitely not staring at her because of how she looked… or were they?

Liv meandered over to the kitchen where all of the alcohol had been set up and was taken back by the sheer amount of booze that there was in one place. How someone scored all of this whilst underage was beyond her (hell, she didn’t even know fake ID’s existed), but she appreciated the effort nonetheless as she stared at all of the different labels and variations laid out in front of her.

In her entranced distraction, the blonde didn’t even notice that someone was trying to talk to her and only realized when the girl attempting to get her attention tapped her on the shoulder. The blonde could tell that the redhead’s lips were moving in an effort to communicate, but she couldn’t hear what she was saying for the life of her with everything going on around them.

“I’m sorry?” Liv shouted over the music, hoping that the girl would repeat herself.

“I said, are you okay? You look lost, hun.” The friendly looking redhead asked with a laugh, holding up a bottle of vodka and motioning to the two other girls beside her. “Do you want to take a shot with us?”

The blonde hesitated, letting her eyes drift down to the water bottle she had been gripping tightly filled with the Goose that her brother had provided her with. The angel on her left shoulder said no- she definitely shouldn’t drink more than what she was given. Don’t betray your brother like that! But the lesser heard and even lesser followed devil on her right shoulder spoke differently, telling her to be daring and free for once. Her brother was busy with Fi and wouldn’t even notice. Right?

Right.

“Okay, sure!” Liv eagerly nodded making her decision which caused the redhead to beam with excitement that she accepted her offer. She poured the blonde a nearly overflowing shot of vodka before passing the glass to her carefully as to not spill.

“Okay, so down, up, down, and then drink.” She instructed, demonstrating to Liv that she should tap the shot glass on the table, bring it up to cheers with the group, and then tap it on the granite once more before taking the shot. The blonde looked like a deer caught in headlights, so she reassured her once more. “It’ll be great, I promise. Ready?”

The young Howard took a deep breath. “Ready,” She replied, trying to hide any hesitation in her voice. She could do this!

Down. Liv could hear her heart thumping in her ears as the glass hit the granite. Up. She smiled at the other girls who were being so kind to her as they brought their shots together. Down. The blonde’s eyebrows raised as she brought the shot glass down to the table and then back up to her lips, shutting her eyes tightly as she tipped her head back and took the drink in one fell swoop. The alcohol burned on its way down and adrenaline and nerves coursed through her veins in the aftermath. She slammed the empty glass back down on the table with a grin. If only Trixie were here to see this!

The redhead took back her shot with ease - this was clearly not her first time drinking - and glanced over to check on Liv. Seeing that she had taken the shot with no issues, she smirked at her. “You did it! That was great.” Before she could say anything else though, her friends began to cart her off towards the dance floor.

“Wait! I didn’t catch your name,” Liv mustered, throat still on fire from the alcohol. She wanted to thank the girl for being so nice to her, and also semi-wanted to make sure she wouldn’t rat on her to her brother...

The redhead smiled widely, calling out to the blonde as she began to disappear into the crowd, “I'm Tyler Jane! Find me later, we can do another one!”

Liv returned the grin, the buzzing sensation that the shot left behind disappearing after a few more moments. The way that it felt energized her and if this is what partying was all about, then she was all here for it.

”Love you too, sweet pea!”

The Franchise called back as Raven brushed passed with a solo finger directed towards his face.

If there was ever a variable in the great equation that Theo was trying to solve it was Raven. There were days where he regretted getting involved with her; not because of anything he did of course but more so just because of how unpredictable she could be. There was always a chance that she could tarnish the immaculate image he had crafted for himself with a but a small word from her crazy mouth. Lucky for him though, TVC had certain ways around that. He was a gentlemen of course so he always warned them all from the beginning, there was an invisible sign hanging above his head, don’t fuck with him and he won’t fuck you. If Raven tried, it wouldn’t end well for her.

It was a simple transaction; the minute Theo found out that Raven’s family had political ties he was there. One must know every aspect of the game of their want to win and this was a perfect Avenue for him to do so. It helped that she was just so easily played; a little girl desperately seeking validation through her relationship because daddy didn’t love her enough. One sweet word here, a gentle touch of her cheek there; for Theo, Raven wasn’t much of a challenge. At least not on the way he expected. She was a mess but the girl was incredibly intelligent and he really did enjoy their debates and discussions, despite not caring to admit that.

There were certain things that were part of their relationship that weren’t manufactured by Theo’s devious mind. In fact there was a good chunk of it which felt natural and fun. He enjoyed when she would share the stories in her journal with him, Raven was an extremely talented writer and if he was a better person; he might suggest she pursue it full time. When they were together at parties things were always a good time, at least unt Theo had business to discuss elsewhere. He did consider himself somewhat addicted to her during the course of the relationship; there were times where he was all but ready to end things, she had outlived her usefulness but then he would wake up next to her and look into those damned electric blue eyes and he would forget what he was doing. Plus Bronwyn loved her, which was always a positive.

As much as he enjoyed Raven, she was a means to and end. Something to fill his time whilst he plotted his next move in the human game of chess that was his life. He had the perfect excuse to cut the dead weight when she cheated on him. How dare she? After everything he had given her and everything he had done for her she would do this to him? Paying the freshman to carve slut into her car was a beautiful statement which left a sweet taste in his mouth.

With a party in full swing as he arrived; Theo began to allow his mind to turn like a chess grandmaster: to try and piece together all these things going on around him and figure out how he could use them all to his advantage in the future. Inebriation was a hell of a thing; to lose one’s inhibitions and give yourself up to the base human desire that rules your very soul. It was a powerful tool to possess the deepest desire of your enemy.

Game on Rosefell, game on.

Before Cade wanted to respond to her, he decided to take another sip of his vodka.

Nope, still horrible.

He then witnessed something he never thought he would. Like, her chewing Rico out was extremely entertaining, but watching Rico take his L graciously and leave like a gentleman felt weird.

”It’s usually much, much worse, to be honest.” he responded. Really anyone from the popular squads, regardless of gender, just thought WAY too high of themselves, was Cade’s opinion. He theorized that the reason for that is Rosefell itself; it makes sense to act like you’re too good for anyone or anything when you’re literally too good for that garbage school.

All this kind of made him adjust. Although her not looking for a smoke was a pity, this was not a disaster just yet. Rico came in clutch.

”Anyway. Sorry for, like, just before. Talk about getting off on the wrong foot. Name’s Cade, by the way.”

He stopped himself for a second to drink and think. He straight up grimaced after finishing his chug.

”Fuck man why am I still drinking this? It tastes like Rosefell and the Cold War.”

His expression formed into the closest thing it could get to a genuine smile.

”So, how would you feel about getting wasted while you keep shittalking every fucking obnoxious asshole on here? Which I guess doesn’t exclude me.”

Billie had to admit that she was completely shocked that Rico had just simply walked away. After everything she had heard about Rosefell High’s resident charmer, she thought that he might at least attempt to clap back. Instead he had just apologized and walked away.

Pouting as she stared at Rico walking away, she sighed. ”We could have had so much fun,” she huffed. ”But he obviously didn’t want to put in the effort, so,” Billie shrugged her shoulders, turning back to Dumpster Fire - or Cade, as he introduced himself.
”It’s uh… nice to meet you, I guess. No need to apologize for anything but your choice in clothing and alcohol - I’ll find more things to complain about later on.”

The chance to rant about anyone and anything sparked her interest well enough, the right corner of her mouth raising ever so slightly into a smirk. Nicholas refused to listen to her crazy rants unless she could corner him, Callie was still missing, and working around time zones with Rue was just a straight up headache. If some random stranger was willing to listen to her ramble about random shit - she was ready to sign up.

”I’d be more than glad to take you up on that offer,” she said, glancing at the bottle in his hand. ”But I am not drinking that shit. There’s a whole table full of much better shit right over there. Er… no offense.”

Cade was going to take his small victories tonight. He made her attempt to switch facial expression from "pouty" or "mad at you for existing" and decided he was worth spending more time with. Now, he usually would not care enough for that validation but something about being intoxicated and her lips got him excited at the prospect of just getting blackout wasted and complaining about everything life had to offer. Only one problem; he really liked his shirt.

He smiled to show her he had taken no offense to her comments and lifted the 3/4ths finished bottle of vodka.

"Honestly, the best thing I can say about it is that it's...flammable."

He then pointed towards the table.

"Want me to get you anything?"

Eyes widening as she realized just how much Cade had already drank, Billie blinked a few times before speaking. ”Honestly, I can get it myself and you probably need somewhere to sit. Follow me.”

As Cade followed Billie the best that he could to the drink table Billie turned to a much larger and older guy standing beside them.

”You there! Shrek. Grab me two chairs, would ya?”

The man stared at her, confused and slightly pissed. “What?”

”I said can you grab me two fucking chairs,” she said, glaring.

“I…. uh… yeah. Sure.”

While Shrek waddled off to grab a couple of lawn chairs from outside, Billie examined the contents of the drink table before settling for the jungle juice in the large cooler beside the table. Grabbing the huge ladle, Billie squatted down to scoop herself a red solo cup full before standing back up again.
Taking a sip, Billie nodded her head in approval. ”Strong and fruity. Nice. Now. Du -- Cade. Point out any one of these people and I’ll shit talk them. It’s a stupid game, but a game to get drunk to, none the less. Now do your duty and choose some random fuck.”

Cade was about to protest, but literally when he took the first step he realized he was definitely more than just chatty-drunk so he followed the girl and, in a rare act of maturity, he decided against mixing more drinks so he got one of the fanciest looking bottles of vodka and poured a cup for himself.

As he joined her in waiting for the poor dude to bring the chairs, he took a sip of his new drink and it was just so, well sometimes the only appropriate word is much, much better that it acted almost as a shock to his system.

”You don’t need to like, disavow something to get to do it.” he commented before beginning to scout the crowd for candidates, which didn’t take a while as he pegged the perfect person.

”Right there towards the front door, the guy who looks like a Republican way more than the usual Liberty student.”

Once Shrek came back with the chairs, Billie took them from him and sat them up beside the drink table next to the cooler full of jungle juice. She slipped the guy a twenty for his efforts, and shooed him away.

”Sit,” she told Cade as he looked for his victim. Billie sat backwards in the chair closest to the cooler, with her legs on either side and her arms resting over the back. As Cade pointed out Theo, Billie smiled.

”Theodore Van Cise,” she mused. Taking another drink from her cup, the brunette cleared her throat before speaking. ”A manipulative, rich piece of shit that likes to use people up and toss them aside. He fucked poor Raven up last year. The guy honestly thinks he has a future in politics, but doesn’t even know how to tie his own shoes. And don’t even get me started on how misogynistic he is!” Finishing off the rest of her drink, Billie grabbed herself another cup full while collecting her thoughts. ”I’m pretty sure he’s drugged more than his fair share of people, so just like… watch your drink.”

Cade blinked twice while staring at his drink.

“Ok so, I may be stupid but...why the fuck is a roofieing piece of shit even allowed in here? Like, let alone everything else which makes him sound perfect for a career in politics- dude should be getting jumped every time he exits his house or something.”

He considered getting up and picking a fight but not only was he like half the guy’s weight, he was far too drunk to not embarrass himself. He then realized he had crumpled up the red cup in his hand, spilling his vodka. What a waste.

”You would really think that, huh? Seems like the fucking logical thing, anyway,” Bille said, glancing over to Cade as she heard the crunching of the cup. ”But somehow he manages to keep people wrapped around his stupid ass finger and weasel out of any trouble.” Grimacing, Billie took another drink. ”It’s gross. He’s gross.”

Noticing that the contents of Cades cup were now dripping all over the floor, Billie looked at him with a blank expression. ”You might need to lay off the funny juice for a second, dude.”

As Cade saw the look on her face it gave him pause. Last thing he wanted to do was seem aggressive and make her feel unsafe in any way so he just completely waited for his mind to stop spinning for a few seconds. Took a couple deep breaths, then went on again.

”Yeah, you’re probably right. Sorry for that.”

He quickly gave the crowd a look again cause it was the easiest outlet to take this forward and ignore the past 10 seconds or so. The usual suspects would stand out but there really was no point in mentioning anyone from Rosefell since she, presumably, didn’t know them. As he realized his earlier blunt was still in his pocket half finished, he took it out, re-lit it and spoke.

”Well, the plan was to just let you rant about the most hate-able person but seems like I got that first try so I’m passing the ball to you. Talk about whatever you want- you’re the one getting drunk now anyway.”

He paused for a second realizing something.

”Consider starting with your name unless you’re planning to disappear completely and leave me wondering if you ever existed with no trace.”

Billie blinked for a moment. The thought had never occurred to her that she hadn’t introduced herself.

”I’m Billie,” she replied. ”Billie Grey.”

Now she had to find a conversation topic. Was this time for the awkward ‘get to know you’ segment? It wasn’t her worst theory.

”Uh… let’s see,” she said, finishing off her second drink and returning for a third. ”My brother Nick and I moved to Ohio - why mom and dad chose fucking OHIO I still have no idea. Anyway. We all moved to Ohio the summer before Junior year for dad’s work. We enrolled in Liberty. Shit hit the fan there, so then we got shoved into Rosefell and now we’re here. My life’s been pretty fucking easy. Parents who love me, older sister who adores me. Friends. Money. Shit like that.” With another drink, Billie decided it was time for her to stop forcing herself to ramble on about nothing. ”What about you?”

"Good for you." Cade said nonchalantly. "Avoided a stupid rich person name."

He took another hit as he tried to summarize the nothingness of his life in a few sentences.

"Honestly, same. It's all been super easy. Nowhere, Michigan to Ohio is somehow still a downgrade in my book, and I've had to "endure' no money on top of it. Mother who loves me, no brothers or sisters. Shit like that. 3 years of Rosefell, which is as bad as it sounds but at least me and that place deserve each other- it's kinda hilarious how y'all got roped into this though."

He instinctively looked for his drink before remembering it's a bad idea.

"You're probably the least Ohio person that exists."

Raising her cup, Billie smirked. ”I’ll drink to that,” she said, downing the rest of her third drink. This had been like a fifteen - perhaps twenty - minute conversation, meaning that Billie had drank way too fast and was about to be way too drunk.

Spotting a familiar face from across the dance floor, Billie jumped up from her chair.

Putting her hands on either side of her mouth, Billie shouted ”CASPIAN!” before turning back to Cade. ”Sorry dude. Nice chat. Gotta run. Cas has been avoiding me for weeks, and his sister is my best friend who’s MIA. I need answers.”

Drunk and already in overshare mode. Perfect.

Billie’s shouting had caused a few people to look their way, but did she care? No. Billie never cared.

Before Cade could respond Billie had entered flight mode. He muttered a ”It’s all good.” before getting up himself, motioning towards whoever the fuck the dude who carried the chairs was to pick them up, before heading towards the drinks table.

No reason to not pass out after that, and the night would be considered a success. Maybe get a burger, he was on an empty stomach all day after all.

As Christian greeted people by the door, he had one of the willing Freshmen bringing him drinks from time to time. People appeared to be happy to be here, and some of them were even already wasted. A small group had gathered at the bouncy house and beer pong station. Eager for the excitement, Christian couldn’t help but cringe as Theo walked through the door. While Christian had decided to design the party for everyone, it didn’t mean he wanted everyone to show up. Nonetheless, he remained the perfect host and greeted his guest.

With the arriving crowd finally thinning, Christian made his way to the back yard. The music was loud, the people were hot, and the vibe was just right. Some girl shoved a random guy into the pool, causing the people around them to laugh.

While trying to decide between doing body shots or jumping in the pool himself, Christians stomach growled. Following his nose, the young man found himself by the grill, holding his plate out for Eleazar.

”Hey bro,” he said, nodding his head. ”Let me get a burger.”

"Just keep your head down this year, Tyler. Please."

Just like the two years before, Tyler Andrews' mother had called her daughter at exactly 5:30 in the morning on her first day back to school, her usual "don't get into any trouble this year" speech ready to be spewed from her lips. And just like the beginnings of her Sophomore and Junior years, Tyler simply let her mother's words go in one ear and out the other; She only offered her a "sure mom" and "okay, I gotcha" whenever she was actually able to get a word in.

"I'm serious this time, Ty," her mother had said as Ty prepared herself for the long day ahead. "You need to put more focus and energy into your studies than you do in causing trouble. You're a bright girl with an even brighter future. Hell, maybe you could've been valedictorian if you didn't get into so much shit. Do you know how great that would've looked on your college applications? You would've had no trouble getting into Morgan."

Tyler's mother had continued ranting for a solid ten minutes before she finally left her daughter to finish preparing for school. And as always, she'd called Tyler's father right afterwards, expressing just how sure she was that this was gonna be Ty's year, and that this would surely be the time she finally soaked in her mother's words and stopped all of her typical "nonsense." And this time around, just like every other year, Tyler wound up disappointing her mother in less than a week.

"Watch your fucking mouth when you speak to me," Tyler had screamed across the room to who she assumed to be one of the new Liberty kids, right in the middle of their AP Government class. "I'll hop over these desks so motherfucking quick... don't try me, bitch. You're in Rosefell now." And just like that, on the very first day of school, Tyler found herself sitting in the principal's office, awaiting the detention slip with her name lazily scrawled across the front. It was during that time that she spotted none other than Spice Cross come storming out of the principal's office, no doubt after being disciplined for whatever Spice-esque thing she'd done that morning. Ty didn't bother making eye contact with the girl after deciding that she had much better things to look at. So instead, she focused on her Instagram feed until she was called in to face the music.

"Two days of after school detention," Tyler had said to one of her friends after being sent to her next class with a pink slip in her hands. "Not too bad if you ask me, though I do think they went a little overboard. It's not like I put hands on the bitch... yet."

So Tyler spent those next couple of days dozing off in English class, gossiping with the Biology teacher, and enduring the consequences for what she almost did. But hey, at least she wasn't the only one who'd received detention that week. And it was during one of her detentions that she found out about a certain party that was going on that Friday night; it only took her a split second to decide that she was gonna go buy the sluttiest shortest mini-dress she could find on the clearance rack and show those Liberty kids how to really party.

"I'm just going to hang out with a couple of the new Liberty girls, nothing too big," Ty had told her dad as she poked her head into his bedroom, her cheetah print dress hidden by a pair of oversized sweatpants and a Howard crewneck. "We're probably just gonna end up watching The Princess Diaries and ordering a few pizzas or something... or maybe it'll be sushi. God only knows what those rich kids eat on the regular. Let's hope I don't get sick. Don't wait up for me." And then she ran, hoping and praying that her dad didn't happen to look out into the backyard and see her stripping in the bushes or taking a few large gulps from one of his previously unopened bottles of Crown Apple.

Deciding that it wouldn't be very safe or smart to ride her skateboard all the way to the Liberty side of town, Ty opted to spend some of her hard earned tutoring money to get herself an Uber. Thankfully, she ended up with a female driver who had absolutely no problem picking her up at the nearest corner store. She also didn't have an issue with Ty taking a few hits from her pre-rolled joint as long as she kept the back windows rolled down. "Thanks again," Tyler said to the woman as she gently closed the back door and turned to take in the very large house that stood before her.

"Have a good night sweetie. Be safe," the middle-aged woman called out before pulling off, leaving Tyler standing at the edge of the driveway. She stood there for a few seconds in awe, taking in her unfamiliar surroundings, before shaking it off and making a beeline for the entrance.

Tyler Andrews thrived in social situations; As soon as she stepped foot into the crowded home, her mood instantly began to improve. Most of the faces she spotted as she pushed her way through the crowd of students were unrecognizable; she saw a few Rosefell kids here and there, most of whom had either found their way to the liquor table, the beer pong table or... had started grilling burgers in the backyard? An amused expression washed over Ty's face as she watched none other than the school mascot hand a plate of hotdogs to a couple of drunken girls, his usual perverted grin plastered across his face. It was then that she realized just how amazing a cheeseburger would taste right about then. Or, no... maybe a hotdog with extra ketchup? As high as Ty was, she figured she might as well get both to satisfy her munchies. She also knew that it would be best to not drink on an empty stomach.

So in less than a minute, Ty had made her way to her destination, only pausing momentarily when she noticed the glowing bouncy house and white tarps that were not too far away from where she was heading. "Wow, they really went all out with the decorating," Ty said to both Spike and who she assumed to be a Liberty kid once she'd reached the grill. "An area for paint wars, a pool, and a big ass bouncy house? So much better than the parties where I'm from, where the only other form of excitement came when the shooter decided it was time for everyone to go home." Ty's tone was light and joking, but there was nothing but truth in the words she spoke.

"Anyways... hey guys. Spike! How's it goinnnnn? You think I can get a burger too? With cheese if you got it... Oh, and a hotdog too. I'm starving."

There was a certain air of familiarity for Miki when she stepped into Christian's house with Jackson's arm hooked with hers. The party crowd that she had known for the longest time, the subjects that she had come to both adore and control all around her. It was both emboldening her, taking her back to a time when Liberty was no longer closed down and she could be her truest self with them.

But as she went through the maze of intoxicated teens, their hollars already giving her a headache, she felt something else pull her. The facade she put up for everyone about how she had to be this perfect ruler with the iron fist was, in some way, being reduced to Jackson's anchor. Not that she thought that was less than anything else, but at a party, where she had to be present as the queen more than anything else, she felt like her mind was playing a game of tug of war.

Even as she and Jackson found a spot where beer was aplenty and company was pleasant, she still felt the inward struggle pull her. Staying by Jackson's side was something she knew she had to, less she feels like she was abandoning him, but she was the queen of liberty. Even if most of them didn't like her, they had to know she was around. But doing the latter meant abandoning Jackson, or at least pulling him into the chaos.

And she couldn't do that to him.

What do I do?

She hated this. Miki Park never doubted herself, yet here she was doing just that.

Maybe they can start with a beer and see where that takes them.

So she handed him a beer and got one for herself. "Here. This will help us relax!" She didn't know if that was true, but at this point, she was willing to try anything. Maybe if she had some liquid courage, she may find hers yet.

Eleazar Nikolavich Diaz-Sapohznik

The sweet aroma of grilled meats had begun perforating the air with great pleasure, mixed in with the somewhat burnt odour of used charcoal. Grilling was no easy job for one person, not with these many customers holding out their plates and waiting for their turns to get a barbeque, or a steak or a burger patty and whatever else. Eleazar glanced towards his sister, who had taken to making French Fries with a portable gas stove. Those were good too... and would probably get wiped out within thirty minutes, as high schoolers had titanic appetites for greasy food.

In either case, Eleazar would find the guy from Liberty that Cael was clearly very happy to meet hold out his plate, asking for a burger.

"Of course, monsieur..." Eleazar would then take a well grilled steal off the grill with a gripper, and with decent speed, slap it in between two burger bread slices with sesame seeds on top, as well as melted cheese and a healthy serving of ketchup. "You want this to have mustard too?" He asked Christian that much, because some people weren't fans of mustard. Hopefully he was, otherwise he'd be missing out.

It wouldn't be long before another person came in. A girl... and she seemed to know Spike. He didn't know her, so she was probably from Liberty. Either way, she was saying things about getting a burger and a hotdog, which immediately piqued his interest.

"Well, well, I've got melted cheese slices here along with the meat, so just say what you want to get!" Carefully taking a hotdog, he then looked over towards Tyler, and then at Spike. "So it's gonna be a burger for Spikey, and a hotdog for... what's your name? Mines Eleazar. You can call me Elea... or Zar. Anything works as long as it makes sense with my actual name."

As the two girls entered the party, Lilith grabbed Ellie’s hand and led her through Christian’s house. Stopping to grab a few glowy accessories, Lilith grabbed a decent handful of bracelets and a couple of necklaces. The glow in the dark sunglasses looked quite stupid, but Lilith was sure to grab a pair of those too.

”So! What do you want to do first,” she asked, filled with excitement. Lilith was glad that she and Ellie had pregamed - otherwise her anxiety would have been going through the roof. She and crowds didn’t mix.

Ellie trailed behind Lilith as they weaved through the masses of people that filled the house, jaw slacking as she gazed at the luxurious fixtures and furniture that filled the large space. She knew that Christian was well off, but she didn’t realize how rich he actually was. This house was absolutely palatial. Realizing she was gawking, she snapped out of her daze and looked over to her friend. She was starting to feel the effects of the joint they had pregamed with, but nothing too out of the ordinary. If she was going to have fun at this party, she needed something else.

“Drinks?” Ellie suggested, motioning to the table filled with booze near the kitchen.

Lilith shrugged her shoulders. ”Drinks are good,” she mused. ”The only thing about drinking and smoking though is that you can get super fucked up super fast. So just like… know that. It’s super fun, and totally worth it. But yeah.”

The brunette nodded, understanding. “Noted.” Ellie replied, leading the way towards the beverages with a fire in her eyes. Her ears had been burning from the moment they stepped into the house; she could hear people whispering, about how she was there and so was Rico. But she tried not to pay attention as she poured herself some vodka and lemonade into a cheap solo cup. “Do you want?” The girl asked, holding out the drink to Lilith.

Eyebrows raised in surprise and Ellie led the way, Lilith took a deep breath. She was glad that her friend was opening up and trying new things - but she wasn’t happy with why Ellie was being so open. People's eyes kept darting back and forth from Ellie, to beer cups, to Rico and back. Lilith wasn’t here to judge - she was here to help, and she completely understood where Ellie was coming from. She just wished her friends' first time getting cross faded would have been at home.

”Absolutely,” Lilith replied, taking the cup from her friend. Taking a gulp, she nodded her head approvingly. Pineapple juice was always her favorite mixer for vodka, but lemonade was proving to be a close second. Pulling a blunt from her bag, Lilith sat the cup drink on the table before taking a drag. ”So what do you suggest we do first? Dance? Bouncy house? Oh! I heard there’s burgers.”

Ellie made herself the same mix with a heavy hand, taking a sip and looking around. The dance floor was crowded, and the brunette was not in the mood yet. She could move- but only after having a few drinks. The bouncy house sounded a little nauseating at the current moment, nothing like an empty stomach and alcohol to make your head spin. Her eyes continued on, searching for their next activity, until they fell on the person she had been avoiding.

There he was, in his usual party form. Rico looked unbothered; without a care in the world as he drank his troubles away like he always did. Ellie’s face paled as she watched him laugh with his friends, chatting up some girl and acting like he owned the place. Her heart ached, and she consciously tore her eyes away, looking over at Lil for a reprieve, “Up to you,” The girl replied blankly, trying to not let her inner emotions show.

Taking another drink, Lilith watched Ellie close. She had to be sure that El wouldn’t freak herself out once the alcohol and marijuanna collided. But instead of a freak out, what Lilith saw was how Ellie’s eye fell upon Rico, and how her mood changed shortly after.

”Do you want to talk about it?” she asked sympathetically. ”Or do you just want to forget all about it?”

“No,” Ellie blurted quickly, but after realizing how that must have come off, she continued, “The last thing I want tonight to be about is some stupid boy. Hell, that’s what the whole summer was about and I’m sick of dwelling on it.” The brunette explained. “I’m here with you, my best friend, and I want to enjoy myself. And so should you.”

”Heard,” she said, downing the rest of her drink. ”In that case, hit this.” Passing the blunt to Ellie, Lilith grabbed two new cups from the stack and filled them with Jungle Juice. The good thing about Jungle Juice was that it was super strong and super fruity. After all, ninety-five percent of it was alcohol. So if Ellie wanted to get fucked up, then that’s what she was going to get.

”I don’t want to make tonight about guys either,” she stated. ”But that doesn’t mean that we can’t like… flirt with them, right?”

Ellie gladly took the blunt, hitting it and exhaling a puff of smoke as she watched Lil get the two of them more drinks. She was lucky to have a best friend like her- someone who she could talk to and be honest when it was necessary, but also someone who could understand what she needed without saying anything at all. In this case, it was to focus on anything but Rico. With a laugh, the brunette exchanged the blunt for the new cup, but not before finishing up her first drink. “Of course you can, I’ll be your wingwoman. I promise.” Ellie smirked, “Anyone in particular you have your eye on?”

Leaning back on the drink table as she surveyed the crowd, Lilith was only mildly interested in the people that she saw before her. No one was catching her eye. Not until --

”Him,” she stated simply, watching as the tall figure slowly drifted away from the entrance. He was obviously from Liberty, and held himself in a way that showed off just how much better than everyone he thought he was. His clothing looked a little on the more pricey side, and his smirk screamed trouble. The girl giving him the finger served to prove that.

”I have no idea who he is, or where he came from - but he looks like trouble and I like that,” she rambled on, a mischievous glimmer in her eye. ”Of course I’d rather have a bid tiddy goth girl crush me with her thighs, but there appears to be none here. So were settling for rich boys.”

“I wouldn’t necessarily call that settling, Lil,” Ellie chuckled to herself, following her friend’s gaze to the boy in question. She was right though- he did seem like trouble. Something about the way he carried himself unmistakably screamed ‘I’m bad news’ but not in the same way their classmate Colin did. Turning back to Lilith, the brunette motioned in the mystery boy’s direction, “Well, what are you standing here with me for? Go get him.”

Shrugging her shoulders once again, Lilith winked at Ellie before finishing off her second drink of the night. Grabbing the blunt back from the other girl, she took a long hit before slowly exhaling and passing it back.

”As you wish,” she replied with a smirk. ”If things go south I’ll just scream and you can come find me or something.”

Taking a deep breath, Lilith set out on her journey.

Tyler Jane Morrissey was tipsy.

Whether it was because of the few shots that she had taken at the pregame (plus the one she just took with the little blonde girl) or the lack of dinner she ate was anyone’s guess, but nonetheless the redhead was already feeling intoxicated. The evening was young, and she was clearly at the party to have a good time after a long first week of classes. As a Rosefell student, she was a little apprehensive about the entitled rich kids from across town joining their ranks, but from what it seemed like it was a pretty seamless transition. Plus, she really couldn't complain- she hadn't met many of them yet.

In anticipation of this being the first party of the school year, and more importantly the first Rosefell/Liberty mixer, Tyler Jane had chosen a slightly more revealing outfit than she might’ve normally worn- the black bodysuit cut out just below her chest and the jean shorts showed off her long legs. The dancer’s lithe frame was often one that people liked to admire, and her clothing choice for this evening's party welcomed it. She wanted to make an impression - after all, half of their school was now unknown to her, and that meant opportunities.

Since arriving at the house, the redhead and her friends had barely left the makeshift dance floor, only taking reprieves for snacks or shots. Tyler Jane, as always, let the music that played move her, swinging her hips and letting her hair fly freely about as she sang along to the words she knew. This was the kind of dancing that she didn't often have the chance to do- no choereography, no mirrors, just the beat and her feet carrying her. If you looked closely, you could see the fire behind her eyes as she enjoyed herself, not a care in the world.

Suddenly thirsty, Tyler Jane decided to go and indulge in another alcoholic beverage. She could worry about her hangover tomorrow, but for now, she was having too much fun to pass up more of it. In the midst of trying to locate another drink, the redhead felt herself collide with a dark-haired girl. “Oh god, I’m so sorry!” Tyler Jane hurriedly apologized with an embarrassed laugh and smile before continuing on her quest to the kitchen.

When the boys finally went their separate ways after making it into unfamiliar territory, JJ decided that his very first destination would be the kitchen. He'd never been really big on alcohol since he knew that he could have just as much fun without it, but figured that he may as well help himself to a little cup of jungle juice. After all, it was all free, and it wasn't like he would be driving himself home that night. His nose scrunched up after he took the first sip, but once he got used to the taste he downed the rest in two large gulps. "Ugh," the young man grunted as he tossed the cup into the trash, the aftertaste of the liquid lingering in his mouth. "Definitely not drinking anymore of that."

So instead, JJ grabbed himself a nice, cold bottle of water from the very bottom of the cooler. It was as he began to straighten back up that he caught a glimpse of a blonde-haired beauty who definitely wasn't from Rosefell. It took him a little second to realize that it was the "Olivia something" girl he'd mentioned to the boys earlier. JJ watched in amusement as a vaguely familiar looking redhead helped blonde babe through what he assumed to be her very first shot of the night, the corner of his lips turning upward when she slammed the empty cup back onto the counter.

It was after the redhead had left the blondie to her own devices that JJ decided to finally make his move. After tossing his bottle back into the cooler and doing a quick, slightly nervous once-over of himself in his cell phone camera, JJ began to make his approach.

"Olivia, right?" JJ said once he'd come to a stop beside her, a boyish grin plastered across his face. "You probably don't remember me from that boring bio class, but I'm JayVaughn. JJ for short." And then he started feeling himself. His nerves completely gone, JJ leaned to the side, his elbow resting on the counter she stood at. He paused for less than a second to decide which cheesy line he was going to attempt to use on her, but in the end decided to just tell her the truth. "I saw you come in not too long ago, and just had to come and let you know how beautiful you look tonight."

Nice one, JJ.

In what felt like seconds, the party was in full swing. The rooms had filled up fast with teenagers filling themselves up even faster. It was like as soon as they had hit the floor they were drunk and or high. Not like it was a bad thing but drunk white people did make DeShawn a little nervous, he wasn’t going to lie. Once he had begun to feel a little more comfortable in his skin, the linebacker made his way over to a drinks table to pour himself a tasty beverage. He wasn’t a fancy man by any means and a cold beer from one of the coolers would suffice quite nicely.

As the rhythm of the music began to pulsate through his body, Dee began to let out a few shoulder shuffles and head bobs. He wasn’t no dancer unless he had a partner that wouldn’t stop him from enjoying himself. He watched around the room with his big dark eyes, soaking in the places and faces that his compatriots would hope to forget about in the morning. It was at this moment that he caught sight of his Queen, alone and without a throne.

Past experience at parties like this had taught DeShawn that trying to get Melissa’s attention when she was ruling her kingdom was a vain quest that no Knight should ever try to undertake. If the blonde bombshell wanted your attention she would take it, you didn’t really have a say in the matter. This was fine of course, most days there was always someone else to talk to, someone else to party with. Still it had been almost a week since they last “held court” and Dee was nothing if not intrigued about how the head of the table was dealing with the new Liberty conundrum.

He made his way by a few people to cross the room, most of whom immediately stepped out of his path mostly out of fear of him just awaiting them away like flies. Once he had reached the Queen of Thorns, he towered over like he did so many others but in a juxtaposition of his size, Dee placed a soft hand on her slim waist.

”Hey girl.”

Melissa recognized that voice from a mile away, and it had the helpful effect of knowing that the person who belonged to the hand on her body did not deserve a slap. Far from it. It was a welcome sight given how the party was shaking out so far.

Her attempts to attract the eyes of the host weren’t going well. It made sense given his duties, but it would still be fun to flirt with Christian a little more. Alycia had abandoned her to try and corner Payton again. Apparently they did more than just hit it off during the tour this week. More power to Miss Collins, but he definitely wasn’t her type. She would have to evaluate him too at some point if Alycia was going to be making a point to bring him to parties in the future. She had already churned through a few of the coolers on offer, and had switched to the stronger vodka cran mixture she held in her hand. It was preventing her from immediately returning the hand that Dee had placed on her body, but she knew her could tell when she was interested. Which she was.

She turned around, allowing Dee’s fingers to trace a path on her exposed midriff while she reoriented herself. ”Hey boy,” Melissa offered to the linebacker as took a sip of her beverage. “Don’t tell me you’re already bored of all the sweet treats Liberty had to offer us? I mean, I know they can’t possibly compare to me, but… well, they can’t. So I guess I don’t blame you! Anyway, how are you doing, Dee?”

The warmth of her golden skin permeated on his fingertips and the simple caress did well to remind him of all the things that he and Melissa had done in the past; a memory that brought a smile to his lips and a fire to his heart… he was but a teenage boy after all.

"I wouldn’t say bored, the night is still young after all and I only really just got here but...” DeShawn leaned down to get closer and caught a whiff of her unmistakable and irresistible scent. "I know how busy you are and I saw you here alone and I just couldn’t help but to just come for a quick taste, ya feel me Queen?” Number Forty Four dropped a gentle kiss on the nape of Melissa’s neck, just below her ear.

It was a simple world that the two of them shared; if they wanted to hook up they did. If they were bored and actually wanted to go on a date; they would. If they wanted to fuck around with someone else, they did. Something always drew them back together but DeShawn had his doubts that it was anything more than a kinship. They understood each other perfectly and that was enough.

"How goes it with your new subjects, Mama? They fallin’ in line yet?”

The Queen of Thorns offered a sly smile as she ran her hand over DeShawn’s scalp, allowing her fingers to mingle in between his dreads while they were on offer to her. As he stood back up following the tribute paid to her neck, she let her hand fall back down to her side. She always had time for Dee, a lot more so than Colin, and a quick taste was a vast understatement when it came to some of their hangouts. But, it was the understanding of their respective wants that kept the relationship between the two in such a comfortable place. Melissa was more Baskin Robbins than Dairy Queen. She wanted to sample all the flavors available. However, Dee was definitely her Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.

“They are doing well so far. It’s amazing what a little sample of what the queen provides can do for compliance,” she confirmed. “Of course, it’s a lot easier if they provide the opportunity. I swear, these kids have all the money in the world to burn, and I’m more than happy to provide the ways and means. Along with other things if some of them play their cards right. But for now, all is good in the queendom, Dee. I have heard whispers of someone who thinks they can come at the crown, but they haven’t shown up, so I guess it’s true that money talks, but power walks.”

"Come at the Queen, you best not miss.”

Dee allowed a smile to cross his lips as Melissa talked of her Queendom. From what he could gather, Rosefell had always been hers and her peers had likely been her subjects since kindergarten, the girl had the sway and the swag and it would take her quite far in life no doubt.

He had heard rumblings of potential challengers for Missy’s crown. Liberty seemed much more a tank of sharks thanks to the inherent wealth and privilege that they held. Melissa was a badass and she had put in the work but he couldn’t help but wonder if there was a possibility that this Game of Thrones would end with her buried under a palace of her own making. Yet this was Missy, DeShawn had not met anyone with the drive to succeed like her. He had not come across anyone with the exact path laid out as to where they wanted to go. It was an admirable quality, an assuredness that drew people towards her, she was easily the sun and the students of Rosefell were simply the planets in her system. All Dee knew was that he shouldn’t fly too close and that he should just keep his head down and do the work. Missy knew where she was going, DeShawn just wanted to survive.

"Well you know, if there’s anything I can do, anything at all, you know where I’m at.” He traced a finger down her back slowly as he spoke in a tone that was as smooth as chocolate: an almost whisper "It ain’t no thing.”

Melissa arched her back slightly under DeShawn’s touch. It was still electric, even after all the times shared since the football player moved here. Of all of last year’s imports, he was clearly head and shoulders above anyone else. Of course, second place was probably that pink-haired girl was essentially a less-reliable Colin. A lot more sarcastic too. Still, a smirk appeared on her face as a soft chuckle could be heard only by the two of them. “I know I can always count on you, Dee,” she confirmed. “You’re good like that. A perfect Knight in shining armor.”

Yeah, she was laying it on thick. Maybe there was more to those coolers than she thought.

“And you know that’s a two-way street. Anything I can do to help you out, you let me know. I’m sure I can make it happen.”

"I’m sure I can think of a few things...”

The boy mountain threw whatever caution he had to the wind and pressed a deep kiss to Melissa’s mouth. Taking in her taste and scent, it was as close to madness; the one true escape as he possibly could. It was chemicals reacting; it was that simple. Every deep set fibre of DeShawn’s being was on fire around Melissa as it often was and in that moment all he wanted was to take her somewhere private and tear off her clothes. It took a great amount of pure self control to not take her there and then. He broke the kiss, reluctantly and grinned with a hint of self satisfaction.

”...But I ain’t your game tonight” Dee took a large swill from his drink to wash down the fire he had just taken from the Queen’s lips and more so to stop him from doing it again.

There weren’t many people in the world who could seize control of Melissa Elliott like that and bend her to their will. DeShawn was definitely the closest among her peer group. Maybe it was that left of self-assuredness that had kept them coming back to each other when others had failed to do so.

Or maybe he was just a damn fine kisser. But the linebacker broke away from the cheerleader’s lips first. She let out a soft whimper as if to will him back, but then again, they were in wide open spaces here, and Melissa had no idea where the best spot in Christian’s place was for some privacy. Not to say that they couldn’t find something later on in the evening. It seemed as though DeShawn felt the same way.

"You do your thing, shawty but come see me round the way if them dice aren’t in your favour, feel me?”

Her lips came together again in the smirk that usually adorned her face. “Even if they aren’t in my favour, you know I have my ways to make sure the snake eyes are staring at my opponents, Dee. But I don’t need any games of chance to know you’re always in my plans. Just save some of those jumped routes for later, OK?”

"Oh mos def.”

Dee knew he had to make a quick exit from Melissa’s atmosphere, sans being trapped within it for the rest of the night. He allowed his eyes to take in her form one last time, unknowingly allowing his tongue to lick his lips in antici…pation. He broke contact to scan the room for someone to save him from himself and spotted Enrique emerging from a crowd causing all kinds of havoc; not an ideal choice but if he was anything, Suave was a good distraction.

”Be seeing you girl.”

Melissa gave a curt little wave as DeShawn made his way towards one of his bros. Not where she would be looking to go to right now, but that was fine by her. She had the option to go anywhere. This was her domain. This was her queendom. And it would not be challenged. Not by any of these Liberty fools who think they can step in with their cash and run things. Not anyone. She didn't need to cling to DeShawn like some lovelorn puppy. She was the ruler of this particular jungle. Nothing will change that.

A @Venus & @Melissa Collaboration
Featuring Fiamma Giannulli & Aiden Howard

It was thirty minutes since her arrival to the party with Aiden, and so far things hadn’t been as terrible as Fiamma had imagined. Sure: the music was much too loud, and being constantly pushed, elbowed, stumbled on or stepped on had gotten old fast. But there was something liberating about knowing that she and her boyfriend were able to hide in plain sight, and that everyone was too busy focusing on their own fun rather than on anyone else. The feeling, combined with her cherry red lipstick and the double-takes her revealing outfit was causing, had served to embolden the naturally inconspicuous Fi. She’d come into this experience with no expectations of doing anything other than having a good, discreet, sober time with her boyfriend (and maybe even cleaning up after any messes he might have made). But now? She wanted to go all out, and see just how far she could take things. With Aiden by her side ready to help her if anything happened, she felt safe enough to want to do so.

After their first few rounds around the party (that had mainly consisted of talking to people her boyfriend knew, Fiamma was ready for a break. “Babe, I’m getting thirsty!” the redhead shouted in Aiden’s ear, hoping that he’d be able to understand her even in the middle of all the chaos surrounding them. “Wanna go get a drink? I think I saw some stuff in the kitchen!”

Aiden was enjoying himself so far, their evening only just beginning but he was already deeming this a good party. The booze was flowing, the music was good, and he had his girl on his arm. What could be better?

In fact, what he was enjoying most of all was having Fiamma by his side. It was a feeling he hadn’t yet experienced in the time they had dated- being out in public together and not having to hide. It was pretty genius, especially since everyone was too drunk and delusional to care or even notice, and he wondered why he hadn’t thought of it before. As the two meandered through the throngs of people, the blonde boy grinned widely as he looked down at his redheaded girlfriend (who, may he add, looking hot as hell tonight). He may have been a little buzzed already, but he was also just happy to be there with her.

”Sure, babe! Let’s go.”

Beaming, Fiamma took Aiden's hand and guided him along the path she remembered the kitchen might have been at. Her intention had been for them to grab a drink and disappear into the middle of the crowd once more so they would provocatively dance in peace again. However, the sight of an abandoned, familiar red cup and ping pong ball set up atop the dining room table stopped the redhead in her tracks.

A mischievous grin spread across her features. Here was something about herself that she had yet to share with her date-- something that might take him by surprise in the best of ways.

"Oh my God! Beer pong!" she exclaimed happily, turning to her boyfriend with eyes full of excitement. "Can we please play a round of this? It's so much fun!"

The blonde boy’s face contorted into one of confusion. Fiamma wanted to play beer pong? He didn’t even think she’d be interested in it in the first place, let alone ask him to play. But it was a welcome addition to their evening activities, and Aiden happily obliged. “Totally, I’m down.” He walked with her over to the table, which was shockingly empty, so they were immediately able to get started. “You do know how to play right?” He double checked, spinning one of the pong balls in between his thumb and index finger.

The mischievous grin she'd been wearing simmered down to a little smirk. The truth of the matter was that she knew exactly how to play. Her time during string camp and in Vienna with cousin that summer had taught her to be decent enough at the drinking game (even if, during these practice rounds, no alcohol had been involved). But she didn't want Aiden to know that just yet, so instead of answering his question outright, Fi decided to dodge it with a shrug of her shoulders.

"I mean, how hard can it be?" she answered, taking her place on the side of the table opposite her boyfriend.

“Okay…” Aiden nodded slowly, “But just know, I’m not going to go easy on you.” The blonde boy was quite the Beer Pong enthusiast, having spent many evenings with Marcos playing the game just for kicks. With a smirk, he tossed the pong ball and it soared into one of the cups on Fiamma’s end of the table.

"That's okay. I've never liked easy things anyway…" she responded with a sassy little shrug, tossing one of her own pong balls and watching it land straight into the cup right in front of Aiden. Grinning, she looked up at her boyfriend with a defiant expression, silently daring him to make his next move.

Aiden’s eyebrows raised and his mouth popped into an ‘o’ shape. Did she just really do that? Shaking his head and realizing Fiamma’s previous comments were all a front, the blonde boy reached into the cup to grab the pong ball to prepare for his turn. “You’re such a little liar, Fi.” He exhaled with a small laugh before taking a shot, the pong ball sailing into one of the cups on the left side.

The young woman only smiled and laughed. "I learned from the best," Fiamma teased with a small wink. "Though, how can you be so sure I'm lying, babe? For all you know, that first shot could've just been beginner's luck," she fibbed, tossing and purposely missing her next turn in an attempt to throw her boyfriend off. "See what I mean? Totally beginner's luck."

“Yeah, sure.” Aiden sarcastically replied, retrieving the ball from the ground before turning back to his girlfriend. “What else have you lied about? Hmm?” He probed, before taking his turn.

"Well..." the redhead began, pausing for a moment to calculate her chances before aiming and scoring in the last cup to the right of Aiden. She punched the air jubilant before continuing. "This isn't a lie more so than it is a confession. Even though I always thought you were a rude, arrogant, condescending asshole, I still used to check you out a lot during pool parties," Fi admitted, her cheeks immediately blazing scarlet. "But now you have to tell me some stuff too! Two of your most embarrassing confessions! Go."

“Oh really? Did you now?” Aiden smirked at his girlfriend as she blushed across the table, shaking his head as she sank another one of his cups. He placed it off to the side before aiming at one of her remaining cups but missed, the ball careening off to the right. “Dammit.” He cursed, but then proceeded to oblige with her request. “Fine. Well, for starters, since we’re on the subject of alcohol- remember right before we started dating we went out for breakfast at that cute little diner across town? Yeah, I was violently hungover from the night before and threw up right before I met up with you.” He laughed, letting his hand reach up to squeeze the back of his neck.

"Oh, that is disgusting!" Fiamma cried out as she roared with laughter, shaking her head in disapproval as she remembered that day. "I almost stepped on that puddle of vomit, too! I was walking to the diner across the parking lot, and I looked down just in time to stop my feel from stomping right into it! I can't believe that was you!" she said, taking her turn and cursing under her breath as she missed the shot.

“Another is you know how you wanted me to write you a letter when you were away at camp? And you never got one and I told you the letter must have gotten lost in the mail? I said that because I didn’t write you a letter, I was too lazy to pick up a pen. Wow that felt great to get off my chest!” Aiden exclaimed jokingly.

"Why am I not surprised?" the girl muttered while rolling her eyes. "Honestly? I would've wondered who you were and what had you done with my Aiden if that letter had actually made it to camp," She laughed as she waited for her boyfriend to take his next turn. "Although you've been my first everything on most things, my first kiss actually happened two weeks after I did the purity ring pledge, with one of my childhood friends…" she admitted, her face getting red again. "Not Marcos, though! Definitely not Marcos. It was with a boy named Colin Gallagher. Pretty sure you don't know him, though. He moved away before high school and I've never seen him since."

“First kisses aren’t important. Other firsts are important though, and I’ve got those in the bag.” The boy winked, taking his turn and leaving just one last cup on the table. “Do you think you’ll be able to catch me?” He asked, motioning to how he was almost going to win the game.

The girl let out a sad sigh. "No… But I'm not going down without a fight," she told him with a small grin, picking up the pong ball again and gracefully tossing it inside one out of the three cups remaining on his side. All of a sudden, Fiamma's blue eyes widened, and she pointed in the direction over Aiden's shoulder. "Oh my God! What's going on over there?!" she cried out in panic, frantically waving to a spot behind her boyfriend.

Dumbly, Aiden craned his head over his shoulder when his girlfriend pointed. He was as gullible as they came, and especially around Fiamma he sometimes let his wits slip away.

Beaming, Fiamma quickly grabbed the three pong balls closest to her and began to toss them in the direction of her two remaining cups.

First toss: successful

Second toss: epic fail.

Third toss…

Score.

"YES!" the girl cried out, raising her hands in the air to celebrate her victory. Sure, it hadn't exactly been a clean win, but it was a win nonetheless.

By the time the blonde boy had turned around, it was already too late. All he could see were pong balls in the two remaining cups and he pieced together what she had done. “You little…” Aiden started to say but then dissolved into a hearty laugh. He couldn’t be mad at her when she was that cute and excited about winning (even though it was 100% not a legal win), so he’d entertain her and count it. “Fine, you win. But I want a rematch.”

"Sure thing, handsome… But only after I get to claim my big prize," she suggested mischievously, wiggling her eyebrows at him.

The blonde boy meandered over to her side of the table, stepping incredibly close so that only she could hear him. “And what would your big prize be, love?” Aiden asked quietly against the loud and raging party background noise.

The young woman smiled and shrugged, looking around to see if anyone was paying attention to them before wrapping her arms around Aiden and leaning to speak into his ear. " How about… You surprise me..." she muttered under her breath, being bold enough to softly nibble his earlobe.

And with a mischievous grin, Aiden took Fiamma’s hand and led her out of the main room to somewhere a little…. quieter.

Featuring Tackle Dude & Heaven’s Missing Treasure

The first interaction she had with anyone at this giant rave party and it was akin to a bodycheck. An explosion of glass shards spread out over the deck as the bottle hit the ground. At least Alina had already finished most of the contents. So it wasn’t too much of a mess. Aside from the glass. Off to an absolute flying start…

”Sorry. I should have paid more attention.”

As her eyes met those of the boy responsible for letting her feel like she was back in a fight for the first time since middle school, she had a couple thoughts. Oh good. A jock with a heart. Definitely a jock from the muscles. Probably eying me up right now. Like I’m a piece of meat. Great.

”Let me get you another beer. It’s the least I could do.”

She was going to tell him it wasn’t necessary, but he was already off. Well at least he’s taking a few steps for me. Not even sure I like that beer.

The mystery man was quick to return with a pair of beers in hand.

”Here.”

”Um… thanks,” she offered in return as she grabbed the beverage from him. “You didn’t have to do that. I could have grabbed another drink. That one was almost done anyway.”

”And now you don’t have to - at least not until this one is done.” Hunter raised his beer to his lips and took a casual sip, though hazel eyes remained on the girl. When he swallowed and lowered the glass bottle from his mouth, he said, “I mean, I was the one who bumped into you and wasn’t looking where I was walking. So, really, it’s no trouble at all!”

“If you say so,” Alina replied as she took a sip. It definitely wasn’t the same beer she had before. It was lighter than the first one. “So, if this is your plan to talk up girls at this party, I don’t think it’s going to lead you to what you want in the end.”

“And what do you think it is I want, hmm?” Hunter asked curiously, his lips not forming anything but a neutral facial expression.

Alina pursed her lips in thought for a second or two. ”Well, I’ve heard a few things, but which one of them would you be angling for in particular…” She gave him a quick glance up and down, as if trying to appraise him for auction. “I’m guessing you’re looking to get better acquainted with some of these Liberty girls running around. Although you’re better off trying Miki Park. All those things I’ve heard, I’ve heard she does all of them.”

He shrugged. ”Even if I was - as you put it - wanting to get better acquainted with the girls from Liberty, it sure as hell wouldn’t be Miki Park.” Hunter’s reply came off with a bit of bitterness attached to it as he took a rather aggressive sip from his bottle. “Not that I have had the ...experience of dealing with her, but I’ve heard things about her too and I can say she isn’t my type.”

”Oh?” Alina raised an eyebrow. She was pretty sure Miki wouldn’t be pleased to hear there was one less boy on the market for her to try and date. ”And what kind of girl is your type… or… guy? Sorry, I guess I shouldn’t assume anything.”

He raised up his free hand, gesturing to her that it was okay. “No apologies necessary. Truth be told, I don’t think I do have a type. Well..” He let his voice fade into a low chuckle, “I guess that’s not true.” Of course, it wasn’t true. Between Melissa and Minty, Hunter’s type was definitely in the aggressive ballpark, but then again, Niki was...different. And the thought lingered for a few seconds until he caught himself and continued. “I’m more of a personality kind of guy, ya know? If someone interesting catches my attention, they become my type.” He flashed her a small smirk. At least that wasn’t a lie.

Personality was something Alina wasn’t certain she had to offer to anyone anymore. How can you offer something if you don’t know what you have? She could fake it for the airwaves, but she was certain that if that was her tactic for survival at Rosefell, it would fall apart very quickly. “Well, I guess that takes me out of the running, doesn’t it? I don’t think there’s too much interesting about me. I mean, I wasn’t even eye-catching enough to keep you from knocking my bottle into a million little pieces on the deck.”

Hunter expelled a single laugh from his lips. “That’s not necessarily true. I mean, that had more to do with me being distracted by my phone than it did with whatever it is you think was the case,” he said, correcting on that matter. “What else isn’t true is that I’m still here, so clearly you’re wrong about not being interesting to me.” Even as he spoke, Hunter was failing to see why he was saying these things. For comfort? For distraction? Maybe a bit of both, but this girl was hot and it at least filled the void shame created. So why not indulge in a little harmless fun?

“Or you’re bored,” Alina shrugged. “That would lower the bar. But I’m bored too. You bodychecking me was the most interesting thing to happen to me so far at this thing.” Wish Raven was here. At least then I wouldn’t be going at this alone and I’d have some backup. Hope she gets here soon. It wasn’t like Alina to be this negative about something, and Niki certainly wouldn’t approve of the attitude, but it was hard to feel anything else.

“You caught that, huh?” Hunter found himself chuckling as he took a half-worried sip from his beer. “And here I thought I was being subtl--”

Before he could finish that though, which was spoken in a non-dominating tone, anyway, she interrupted him.

“--So… what do you think of all this mixing between schools then? Can’t imagine there are too many positives for you Rosefell types having everyone from Liberty invade. Aside from being able to have these parties at a place like Christian’s.”

He shrugged. If he was honest, there might be a mention about how his secret romance came from Rosefell and his two worlds collided in the worst way. But he wasn’t about to ruin a potentially-glorious distraction. “I don’t know. I mean, there are definitely some people who might not enjoy it and see it as an invasion -- as you phrased it, but not me,” he admitted with a chuckle. “I love Rosefell and if you asked me would I favor Liberty over my home, you’d know my answer, but, I don’t know, I’m not like a friend of mine who absolutely loathes the guys from Liberty.” He took a moderately slow sip and shook the bottle, frowning slightly as he realized its contents nearly gone. “And what about you? Are we as bad as some people said we are?”

Alina thought for a second. It definitely wasn’t as hopeless a situation as she thought it would be. DeShawn alone made that happen. If it wasn’t for him, she probably would be home alone, or just hanging out with Raven listening to her latest piano project. She hadn’t had much interaction with anyone else though. The nameless boy in front of her was already the Rosefell student she had the second-longest conversation with. “I don’t think I can say that, although I haven’t met all the Rosefell students yet. But there are definitely some diamonds in this rough. DeShawn seems like a nice guy. I don’t know if you know him. But he’s been very kind. It’s been really appreciated.”

Hunter’s mouth opened, with a surprised “oh” falling out when he heard Dee’s name. “So, you know Dee, huh? Why am I not surprised?” Hunter laughed. And then chuckled into another sip from his now empty beer bottle. “He’s always one to show around some new students. He’s pretty reliable like that,” he said, smiling at the girl, “Yeah, I guess you can say I know him. He’s one of my boys. Always looking out for me when I least expect it.”

Least I know it’s not just me then. He actually seems like a genuinely good guy. Alina took another long sip of her beer. It still wasn’t great, but it was giving her something to do with her hands and mouth while the mystery boy spoke. “I wasn’t expecting that level of hospitality, but like I said, I actually really appreciate him doing that. He’s the only reason I’m here right now. Couldn’t get any of my friends or my sibling to come to this. Cause I’m clearly about as persuasive as I am interesting.”

“Not the party type, are they?” Hunter mouthed out before he let out a chuckle. “I mean, I guess it’s to be expected. Whether it’s hosted by us or Liberty, these parties tend to get pretty crazy.” This made Hunter think about how he was one to let loose at any party. He wasn’t like Colin, who often avoided Liberty parties unless it benefitted him, so he didn’t outright hate any Lib. And especially not when Niki was one of them. And thinking about Niki, of course, brought a slight frown to his face. He tried to hide it, but didn’t have the excuse of taking another sip because it was empty.

A quick swirl of the bottle told Alina that the conversation with the unknown boy had been going on for longer than she would have bet on. Maybe that frown on his face was a sign that he finally was getting bored with her. Or maybe it was something else. “Something on your mind there, superchief? You look sadder than that empty bottle you’re holding onto.”

When Hunter looked up at her, he smiled, shaking his head. ”It’s not important.” He, of course, was lying his ass off. He had Niki on his mind and it was clear to this complete stranger that it was enough to break through the silk-like barrier that was his attempt to hide the pain. He wasn’t an old guy named Harold. “I guess I’m just sad I drank it so fast.” That statement was partially true and it was enough to convince him even if for the moment. “Might have to see about getting something stronger.”

“That doesn’t sound like a bad idea. Starting to think I’m going to need more than beer to get through this night.” It was a bad idea. But Alina didn’t know that yet. Future Alina would probably be ticked, given she rarely dealt with any booze more potent than wine, but until Raven got here, or a more unlikely friend, there was no one to really tell her no. “If you still want to talk, even if you don’t want to talk about the whole depressing thing you got on your mind, I’ll take whatever you get. If not, I guess I’ll head over after awkwardly watching you walk away and grab something. Take your pick.”

As he mentally went over the choices, he knew he didn’t want to talk about Niki right now - not with this complete stranger.

Okay, she wasn’t exactly a stranger. For however long they’ve been talking, Hunter could honestly say that she had taken his mind off of...well, everything. And somewhere, he knew Dee was proud of him. Forgetting about one’s troubles was the whole point of a party. If you had shit going on in your life, whether home, relationship, or you’re one small step away from a nervous breakdowns, parties or, in general events with a lot of alcohol and good company could be the difference between getting admitted to a padded room and making it to your best friend’s place by night’s end.

And that’s what he had. Alcohol was a plenty here, especially since he heard Colin was involved in the supply run and this nameless girl was certainly enough for him to forget his troubles. His situation with Niki was complicated and Hunter could spend all night dwelling about how shitty he was and how he didn’t handle the surprise of seeing them at Rosefell, but he didn’t want to focus on that. No, he wanted to have some fun.

“Whatever choice gets me fucked up, I’ll take it.” He smiled at her.

“Right now, that sounds like the right choice…” Alina blanked for a second. Names had never come up in their whole conversation. They just didn’t seem important considering the interaction started with a collision. “...OK, I can’t just keep calling you tackle dude or something for the entire night. You have a name right?”

Hunter was caught off guard and let out a laugh that turned into a rough cough. “Tackle dude? Yeah, you can call me that. I mean, it’s accurate to my position on the team,” he stated, getting some of his composure back, “or you can just call me Hunter.” Even he had to admit that transition was so smooth one might think Suave Rico had his hand up Hunter’s ass and speaking for him. “And yours? Or should I just call you the treasure that heaven is missing?” Okay, now that was more of a Hunter Quinn line.

A hand went to Alina’s lips, but she wasn’t sure if it was to stop the laughing from the cheesy pick-up line or from the fact that for the second time in a week, she had a random encounter via a collision with a Rosefell student who was tour guide for a Zabrecky. At least she had to think it was the same Hunter. It wasn’t exactly a popular name at Liberty. She decided not to mention Niki, just in case. There was the possibility this was Hunter Jones or Hunter Druckenmiller or something.

“I’m no treasure, Hunter,” she told him. “So that’s probably not going to work as a name long term. You can just call me Alina.”

For what it was worth, Jo sure did know how to have a good time even if she came from Rosefell. That little alcoholic Tootsie Roll concoction had really piqued Samantha's interest and she couldn't get enough of it. Who knew that Rosefell kids knew how to make drinks? It was definitely better than the drinks she'd had in other places. Unfortunately, much to the misfortune of one Ms. Samantha Queen, she was also a lot more of a lightweight than she'd previously anticipated, which may or may not have lead to a couple of issues once Samantha had downed one and a half cups of this.

By the time she sniffed her second cup, Samantha had already turned a light shade of pink. Either Jo had packed a lot more alcohol into this drink than she had thought or she was probably the lightest of weights in this entire school. Either way, she felt buzzed, at least so she thought. She was clutching her cup with two hands, fearful she might somehow fumble it and spill it on the ground. At this moment, this was something she desired to protect with every single fiber of her being. This was like God's nectar to her.

However, if Samantha stood any longer she probably might fall on her face. More of the alcohol was starting to kick in and Samantha's ability to stand was diminishing with it. "I think I need to sit down." Samantha commented, before finding a place to sit. "I feel like I'm gonna eat shit if I keep on sipping and standing." The continually drunker girl mentioned. "Protect me, Jo... guard me like Leona..."

Fuck Rico

He had heard those words so many times. Some of those times were half hearted attempts to annoy him or said in jest; other times it was purely malice and he did his best to hide the affects. For someone who wore his emotions on his sleeve, Rico also knew how to hide them well.

Fuck Rico

This time it wasn’t Spike saying it. This time it wasn’t some guy whose girl he’s accidentally on purpose hit on. This time, it wasn’t Ellie...he was saying it to himself.

Every beat hit his heart like a shotgun blast.

The rhythm was seeping into his pores and pulsating down his body in a shockwave; forcing it to move to the sound like only he could. He was feeling supersonic.

The LSD was kicking in and your boi Freako was about to put on one hell of a show.

Emerging from the bathroom a damn sight better than how he entered it; Rico made his way back into the party which was even more crowded than how he had left it. That however would not stop him from doing what he does best and getting his party on. The mishap with Billie had all but encouraged him to forget what troubles befell his heart and just let loose. Ellie would never have him back and he hadn’t properly dealt with his emotions since their breakup and the first party of a new school year was no place to soul search. It was only a place to get totally fucked up.

“Suave en la casa, bebé”

Scanning the room, he noted his Libertine tourist Jackson Park entering the party with a dynamite looking girl who looked like she was custom made in a doll factory to near perfection, he had heard the name Miki thrown around and from what he could tell, she was the Melissa of Liberty. Jackson did call himself the king after all so maybe this was his Queen.

Running through the crowd, Enrique jumped up and planted a huge kiss on Jackson’s cheek. ”JP, my man!” He applauded his new found friends choice in companion. His fingers danced in the air as the troubadour didn’t really know what to do with all the energy he had. He turned to Miki and smiled at her. ”Rico. The pleasure is absolutely all mine, mi amor” He winked towards the porcelain skinned goddess before turning back to the tall boy. ”Come find me later, brother man and we’ll do shots. Hail to the king baby!”

Grabbing a drink from some random person nearby whom he didn’t recognise, Rico downed it in one before leaving Jackson and Miki in his wake. He danced further into the party, catching sight of one Stephanie Cross. The girl was straight fire and everyone knew better than to play with her lest they be burned. Yet Freako wasn’t just anyone and Colin probably wouldn’t give a fuck because he was too busy trying to lay with her Royal Heiness.

Making his way over to the lonesome Spice, the Latino took her hand and kissed it gently.

”Oye nena, el mundo se detuvo porque acabas de entrar. Why don’t you come with me to the dance floor and we show these preppies how we do Rosefell style?”

Stephanie couldn’t help but roll her eyes. She wasn’t exactly a stranger to the attempts at seduction throughout the years of one of Colin’s best friends, but she had always been quick at turning him down. The raven-haired girl had a type, and Rico was certainly a far cry from it. But her only goal tonight was to make Colin jealous while having lots of fun in the process. Provocatively dancing with his best friend was a fantastic start, right?

Spice certainly thought so.

“Let’s get ‘em, guapo,” she smirked, taking his hand and guiding him to the dance floor.

Rico pulled Spice close to him and wrapped her arms around his neck; his hands tracing them downward and onto her back and further to her waist. She moved seductively between his fingertips as with every beat from the music around them, their bodies would become more entwined. Watching the two as they danced the night away was deeply sexual despite their lack of romantic spark. It was two fires meeting to create a blazing inferno; one ember seeking to burn and the other to illuminate...which one was which was yet to truly be decided.

He span her gracefully and she matched his every movement. Arms wrapped around her waist from behind; Enrique considered That dance with Stephanie was somewhat taboo given that she was kind of sort of maybe with Colin but would the Gallagher boy do anything different were he in Enrique’s suede shoes? He doubted it.

”It’s a shame Colin is too busy with Melissa” He inhaled her scent as his hand reached towards her leg and touched the soft skin. ”To waste you tonight when you look like this is a crying shame”

Raising his head up, the lover boy caught sight of a different kind of fire and his attention was immediately transported there. A tall red haired girl he had never seen before entered the kitchen and he was mesmerised. His eyes were beginning to feel heavy and the sweat was becoming thicker across his brow. It was most likely the drugs but he couldn’t be sure. He needed a drink to cool off. ”Excuse me, mami. Have a nice night” Pressing a gentle kiss to Stephanie’s cheek, Rico left her in the center dance floor, alone.

After his briefest of dalliances with El Picante, Enrique followed the wisp of sun kissed orange hair to the next room in his wayward path which was the kitchen; the main hub of any good party. It was crowded, of course it was but like any good star should he knew how to stand out in the crowd and so too did a blonde and the redhead he followed in here downing shots at a nearby table. Licking his lips like a dog salivating for a snack; Freako began to salsa on the spot. Even as the drugs took further grip on his sanity the boy had more rhythm in his left pinky than most did in their entire body.

Before he could reach the bevy of beauties; he was struck by a force that almost knocked him to the floor. Composing himself as much as the spinning room would allowed; Rico looked up to match eyes with a massively built young man with hazel eyes and dirty blonde hair. By the look on the human barricades face; he was pissed off for some reason or another and Freako thought he knew better than to engage a lion that was so very obviously desperate to be let out of its cage.

”Mierda, you’re a big boy ain’t you?”

Theo smiled softly before bursting into laughter. He put the case of beer he was carrying down and wrapped himself around the mariachi in a bear hug as if greeting an old friend. He began to squeeze hard, then a little harder and then just a little bit more which was when Rico realised this wasn’t what it looked like. The air began to leave his lungs and the pressure on his ribs and spine was indescribable. Confusion and fear began to drift into his soul as the thicker boy moved his head to the side of his victim and his into it with pure venom.

”One warning ese, keep your dirty cholo hands away from me or I’ll break you in two and throw the pieces back over the fucking wall where you belong” The boy released his grip and allowed a rush of air to return to Rico’s body. He patted the latino’s arm with a big hearty smile plastered on an incredibly smug looking face. ”Enjoy the party buddy” He laughed again before grabbing his beer and moving passed Enrique, leaving him in a puddle of insecurity.

Immediately following the encounter with Theo, he returned to the privacy of the downstairs bathroom, this time to do a few lines of coke. Thank God Colin came in with the supplies or this would’ve been a really long bad night for Rico. He was almost certain that the obvious Liberty brute had probably broken a rib or two of his during their bro-down. The blow was good to ease some of the pain that was slowly rising in his torso which would allow him to carry on doing his thing. Sure it wasn’t the safest choice but who cared?

It was only Rico after all.

Leaving the relative safety of the bathroom once again, Enrique stopped in his tracks. There she was, the source of his agony but also the source of his joy. She looked good, damn good and she was...enjoying herself? He had spent months trying to get her to attend these types of parties but work came first. Fuck. How could she be here and how could she look so damn perfect. The lord was testing him.

This was the girl he named a storm after.

"I have an idea!"

——————————————————
Christian's House

Jo blinked to keep herself from being hit too hard from the drink, she looked at Sam then thought what could possibly make this night a bit better, she already barely holding on to her soberness but that was the point of a party right. She looked Sam dead in the eye and smiled, she chugged her drink to completion and slammed the empty cup on the table next to Sam who had just sat down.

"Can't handle a tootsie roll?" Jo asked mockingly, laughing a bit as she jumped a few times in place to keep herself from falling over, maybe chugging that was not the best idea. "I'm an Irelia main Sam, I... I haven't played that champion at any point in my life." She shook her head to keep herself straightened out but she knew she was not going to last long so she wanted to at least do something for Sam. She quickly scanned the people around her and raised her finger to Sam, "I have an idea, give me a moment, I might be able to do something you'll love." She said, before shuffling off. There were only two people in her head, Rae, who definitely was not at this party, and Rico, who was possibly shitfaced somewhere.

She walked around the place looking for Mr. Latino Heat himself. She watched him come out of the bathroom and she immediately jogged over to him.

"Hey! Ricky!" She called out, raising her hand in the crowd to make sure Rico saw her, she quickly ran up to him and held lightly placed his hand on his forearm. "You uh... Maybe uh... Uh... D-Do..." She cleared her throat, "Let me try again." She slapped her cheeks and gave her head a quick shake before attempting again. "You wanna hop on that mic? You know, just like we did back in summer?" Jo asked, pointing at the DJ station behind her, she knew that doing this was a huge risk but honestly she was too drunk to care at this point. "What could go wrong, right?" She asked, letting out the classic heart warming Jo smile that usually always got people on board.

Here is hoping Rico will say yes, because she really does not want to ruin Sam's night; and she was trying to impress her, because it had always been Sam that was impressing Jo everyday of her life.
