Time: 10am, Traveling from Sun Elf Kingdom to River port.
Location: The woods outside River Port
Interactions: Boar, Joverine
Mentions: @Alivefalling
Equipment: New backpack acquired from Sun Elf Kingdom odds and ends, traveling essentials including portal hygiene products, his journal along with the ink pot and quill, a small fire starter kit, a water canteen, and a bed roll tied to the top of his backpack, coin purse tied to his belt containing approx. 450 amas from his previous commission. Personal axe, forged from iron but etched with intricate markings, a 'travel-sized' pickaxe, made from iron and kept simple.

A rustle here, a snort there. Orenn was moving through the weeds in the woods, trying to track down his target. It would be inappropriate to call it his prey out here. As far as he knows, there could be creatures so big in these woods, they eat his kind in one fell swoop and doesn't even break their stride. He will approach this with caution, but in a relaxed manner.

The rustling sounds seems to have quickened. Orenn's eybrows furrowed as he drew his axe out of his belt and scanned his surroundings. He was never the most proficient hunter. His kind were never meant to be one's traditional hunter-gatherer. Sure, they farmed here and there, but in terms of animal kills, they traded or bartered in the market to fill their need. However, in Orenn's case, he has had to survive much of his adult life on his own. Trading and bartering weren't always enough. He learned to hunt, he learned to track. Most of all, he learned to survive.

"I swear I'm hearing some sort of battle-theme. Me brains must be fryin in this stupid heat. I cannae be hearing such tunes out here in the sticks..." Orenn thought to himself. He kept his axe in his dominant right arm and reached for his water canteen with his left. Before he can take the drink, however, Orenn felt a presence bearing down on him. Swinging his body slightly back and to his left, he swung his axe in a wide crescent from left to right as well. The momentum of the motion cause Orenn to pivot. "Well there ya are, ya beauty." Orenn huffed softly. A small devious grin appeared on his face as he saw the charging barrow. Orenn quickly shrugged off his pack and slung it to a nearby tree as he took his stance, ready to make his first dodge away from the boar.

As the boar approached, Orenn dropped into an athletic stance. As much as a man of his stature can muster, anyways. He also gripped his axe with both hands, sliding his right hand up quite close to the base of the axe-blade and his left hand held the handle of the axe a mere few inches from the bottom. Orenn licked his lips and in a flash the boar was on him. Sliding his left foot back behind his right, he turned his entire body sideways to the boar charging in a straight line and with both hands on his axe, he attempted to take a big hack at the body of the boar...

Annya took the time to calm down as her sister spoke. Her temper had always come fast and hot, but she was quick to let go rather once the moment ended. Annya had her eyes on the prize and would not let one insolent human ruin her day. She nodded to her sister's command and held her arm in the air, flashing her transmission bracelet. She put on the disguise ring meant for her. It was easy to use as she had done so time and time before when she hadn't wanted to walk around in bulky armor. With a bit of concentration and a mental image in place, her armor suddenly seemed to melt away and she was now before them in a much simpler ensemble. Her token sun earrings(see the image above) were also on display. She admired herself on the reflective surface of the floor for only a moment.

As her sister was leaving, thankfully with the idiotic one, she quickly ran over and threw her arms around her in a hug. She let go and smiled at her encouragingly, "Show them what happens when the sun comes up!" With a grin she flexed her arm. Behind the grin, there was a bit of worry. When it came to magic, Rosaria was a goddess in Annya's eyes and would have no problem vanquishing most enemies. Still, she didn't want to lose her like she had Orias and now the general. She knew it was best she kept her thoughts positive and believed in her sister and her well-trained butler, so she pushed those thoughts aside and then ran back over to her group. The general would have wanted her to not spend time mourning and to focus on vengeance, so she would do just that!

Annya stood before the three humans and glanced towards Kharne as he spoke, "Kharne. I would like you to focus on protecting the humans with all that you got. In a situation where we are attacked, you and I will work together to protect them and keep them out of harm's way. I will be using my dual axes to get close in combat with an enemy and keep them focused on me. Stand before the humans and hold that saber out to keep the enemy away. If there is more than one enemy, then I want you to take the same initiative in making sure the enemies are kept very busy. They will not be able to engage without risk for some time."She waited confirmation of understanding from the Dragonborn. Then she led them out of the room and through of maze of halls to a back entrance where they descended a great stairwell to the back area of Sun Elf Kingdom. She held out her arm and leaned against the wall, pushing the others back with her to check the view before them. Once it seemed all, she began to lead them through the alleyways of the noble neighborhood, walking casually.

The white-haired girl had introduced herself as Raven while they were walking, "Raven. I like that name!"Annya exclaimed and looked in the direction of the three humans, her gaze sliding to the red-haired female and the dark-haired male, "Tell me your names as well! Then, Raven, I want to know your age and some more about you."

After a few minutes, Annya reached an entryway into the jungle and ushered them all closer to her as she began down a path that was much overtaken by nature. The sound of various animals and birds could be heard dimly in the distance. The air was thick with humidity. "Reminder again that you can call me Annya and this big guy is Kharne. Be respectful to him as he is here to help keep you safe." She whirled around and pointed at them sternly, "I mean it! I don't want to hear one bad word about him!"

Sophie wished she had a chair to slink back in as Rosaria asked them to tell her about themselves. She let go of Caelan's hand to subtly take a step back and inch a bit behind him as she collected her thoughts. What information would an elf princess want to even know about her? Rosaria had only paused for a moment before continuing to speak, telling them she was 1,022 years old. Whaa-? It didn't get easier to understand either. She started talking about fairies and magic. Sophie felt overwhelmed and amazed at the same time by the knowledge she shared. She glanced around at her surroundings as they started to walk once again, ultimately looking up at the sky. Her eyes widened at the sight of a large flying ship moving overhead up in the sky. Am I in a Studio Ghibli film!?

Sophie had always daydreamed about these sorts of things, especially in class, but never could have fathomed a reality involving them. Her mind soon went wild with questions and a rush of excitement rushed through her. I have magic? Could that really be true? ...Can I be a fairy?... Will a fairy let me paint her? A smile stretched upon her face, not to her knowledge, totally distracted from the fact she was supposed to introduce herself.

Rosaria's voice pulled her back to reality and she blinked, stumbling and nearly bumping into the angry boy from before. She caught herself quickly, just barely brushing him, as apprehension fueled her. She recalled he had been quite upset before and definitely did not want to push his buttons. Sophie tried to recall what he had been so angry about but she couldn't quite place it. She supposed it did not matter now anyway.

She then noted that Rosaria was telling them to pick something for her to buy them. Curiously, she moved over to the display of items on the table. Her eyes lit up at the sight of all the pretty clothes, her focus soon zoning on the blue dress with the star detailing. She gently touched the material, her gaze longing. Oh but I don't think it's nice to spend this lady's money... She bit her lip and glanced toward Rosaria and Nuallán. And I better tell them about my family and find out about what Caelan said. That is what is most important.

However, Sophie decided a little while longer wouldn't hurt; Rosaria had mentioned they had enemies anyway and she was not sure if it would be dangerous to bring the topic up with other elves around the vicinity. She tapped her fingers on the table thoughtfully, looking at Caelan and the dark-haired boy. She waved to Caelan but gave him his space to look at the selection, and then let her gaze set on the other male. He really does seem different and from another time period, but maybe... Maybe he just was so wild before because he was scared like I was... She had been lucky Caelan had been sweet and held her hand through it and now it was time for her to pass the kindness on. Slowly and reluctantly, she stepped over to him and cleared her throat softly, "Hello...I'm Sophie..."Her voice trailed off as she searched for words. She hadn't planned this well. Sophie's gaze fell upon his outfit and she tilted her head as she examined it. It was feminine but it managed to compliment him so well. Sophie thought he was a very interesting-looking person in general and could make a great subject for a painting. Sophie told him gently in hopes of cheering him up, "Oh that outfit is very nice on you."

"Myra… Myra… Myra…" It was as if Vrexen was testing her name on his tongue. He finished the chunk of meat with one last bite, while also noting Myra's look of discomfort when confirming he was headed in the right direction.

"They trouble you… No need to be weak, sister. Myra. We are demons." Vrexen got up into a crouched position and slowly approached her. "Join me, sister. I need a guide. I can make up for the strength you lack." He stopped in front of her. "Help me and I will help you in return." Whether she accepted or declined, Vrexen would continue onward. And with a powerful leap forward he did just that, continuing north on all fours.

Her ability to keep up with me is… good. Myra… my first.

Nym let out a deep laugh at the prince who had taken to calling him bastard. Long voyages were certainly made easier with a fool to provide entertainment, and a title like prince could easily prove useful. He did not expect hard work from a royal, they lived soft lives, didn’t know how to fight for every scrap they could get, but it was more than likely he’d at least know how to use that sword he carried. “And here I was ‘bout to get you drunk and leave you in a den of sin to be robbed. A lucky day for us both.” He whispered back to Helio. His attention was quickly drawn away from the entertaining Helio to the siren that had snuck upon him.

“As I’m sure ya’ve heard, war is what’s on the menu. A most exciting time for piracy, the land plunged into chaos, so many ships loaded up and ripe for plundering. Play these cards right and we shall all live fat as cats before this one’s settled.” Nym replied to Tigerlily, as she asked about food and rum. A twinkle in his eye as he thought of all the wealth about to be floating about in the seas. Something far more exciting than a single meal.

“Éliane, no great surprise that ya seem to know every one of interest where ever ya may be. Merely a traveler with skills worth boastin’ of and a talent with words. ‘Ere for a proper adventure I assume.” He added, as the elven woman introduced them to the captain and the well-armed man with a bucket on his head.

Nym eyed the woman introduced as the captain; a woman whose name nor deeds had ever reached his ears. A gamble, certainly, to sail under one with no recognizable reputation, but he liked to gamble. He had a good feeling about this one, and if he was wrong a poor captain was easy to replace. A ship as fine as the one Barboda pointed to, that was something to be proud of, well worth a risk. His attention shifted from sizing up the captain to staring longingly at the vessel as she rocked with the waves. She was fine craftsmanship, a true beauty; sleek, agile, and built for speed. Nym rarely loved people, but a proper boat built with care quickly found a place within his heart.

“Aye, Cap’n, I gotta good feeling about ya.“ He spoke with a nod though his eye was still fixed on the ship. More than ready to leave the shore, even as the others spoke of shopping. Barboda, on the other hand, seemed more than ready to get down to business, an admirable trait. The ship was fully stocked, more than ready to set sail.

“Let's get the cap’n sorted and leave this hunk o’ dirt behind.” Nym added, breaking his gaze from the ship and gesturing towards the Odds N Ends store that had been suggested.

Orias continued to wait, eyes closely studying Nabarra, still finding it unsettling when blood-red eyes found it’s own. He thought of his grandfather, Saleh, a brave warrior slain by dark elf hands long before Orias was even born. He thought of Annya’s former husband, another elf slain through treachery, and of General Talindra, the knife that slit her throat and brought such an honorable life to such a brutal and unglorified end. Mostly though, he thought of himself as he waited for Nabarra to gather her possessions. He listened to her words, what they meant before he spoke.

“I imagine it took a lot, to leave what you knew behind, and start over. Last night has reopened many wounds, and I am sorry I have been less than welcoming. If your intentions are as you say, you have my respect.” Orias spoke slowly, his words chosen carefully, and spoken honestly. An apology that felt unfamiliar and bitter to his tongue, only reinforcing that it was the likely right thing to say. He could not return the sentiment of ‘nice to meet you,’ with any sincerity, while not exactly a welcomed stranger, Nabarra was nothing if not interesting.

“The tailor’s not far from here, a cloak should be an easy find. The Nest is a good spot for a drink and to find anyone looking for a fight. If anyone knows of a resistance force in this city they’ll likely be there, the king here is a notorious coward, so I’d expect little luck through official channels.” He added pointing out the way. He paused for a moment, before adding with a twitch of a smile and a lighter tone, “Maybe we can pick up a cane for you as well, to ensure you can keep up.” Orias gave a half-hearted attempt at a joke to lighten the mood.

Caelan Knight

Time: 10am
Location: Sun Elf Castle Hall
Interactions: @princess] Sophie @baraquiel Jomari @13org Nuallán @Potter Rosaria
Equipment: A D&D miniature, a blunt and the clothes he was given

Caelan was happy to hear that he would be trained. He wanted to know more as soon as possible, but it was better to wait until they were not in a rush to get out of town. Rosaria had introduced her age as over one thousand years old and her butler had introduced himself as Nuallán as a 928 year old elf dedicating his life to protecting Rosaria. He knew elves lived for long periods of time in the fantasy realms as he had learned such from various fantasy stories, but the thought amazed him on how much they could have seen throughout all those years. He focused on Rosaria’s words, trying to absorb everything being said about the magic of this land. Some he recognized as superhero lingo from comics. Rosaria went on to refer to him in her next statement. Caelan laughed at the play on his name.

“Well, as you know, my name is Caelan. I am 26 years old and I do have some training with a sword. On Earth, I played a sport called kendo where you use a bamboo sword, but I have practiced with a real sword as well and I am open to learning more.”

He had been eager to hear more about Sophie but when he went to glance her way, he found she had let go of his hand and had retreated behind him. Caelan was confused by her actions, peering over his shoulder at her. She seemed alright as she stared up at an airship passing by with wonder. He, too, glanced up at it, “Damn bro.” He commented.

Rosaria led them to a stall with a bunch of random stuff strewn over the display. He looked to Nuallán, recalling he had offered up to answer questions after all. His mind was cloudy from all the weed he had smoked and random ideas had consumed his head. This was one of many. With a cheeky smile, he brushed the hair out of the way of his left ear, the closest to his line of sight, and began to wiggle his ears. ”Can you do this?”

Caelan laughed at himself, realizing how random and weird he must have seemed to the guy. He needed to know.

His attention was stolen for a moment by the sight of Sophie touching one of the dresses on the table. She moved away from it and did not pick it up. He looked at Nuallán and got up in his space to whisper in his ear, “Hey Nuallán, I have a second question. I think Sophie wants that dress. Can we buy it for her secretly and surprise her?”

Sophie waved to him just as he was whispering. Caelan got excited to be acknowledged by her. He quickly waved with a big smile back then turned back to Nuallán to await his answers.

While Myra was still a bit cautious around Vrexen, his non-hostile behavior towards her and the fact that he spoke to her almost as if they were close did make her a little less wary. As he asked her to join him though, she did wait for a moment, considering her options. Even though Vrexen had a very intimidating appearance, judging from the way he was treating her so far, he wouldn't be a threat to her. Besides, since she would have to get nearby the dark skinned pointy-ears' city, a place which made her very, very uncomfortable, it would be nice to have someone else with her. Even if just to use as a distraction if things get too ugly.

Before she could even finish thinking though, Vrexen suddenly leapt forward, beginning to run on all fours towards north. Surprised by his sudden movement, Myra gave a jump back, but as soon as she realized he was already on his way, she decided to follow him as well. Quickly munching and eating the last piece of meat she had, she dashed after Vrexen, catching up to him after a moment. Their 'partnership' could either last for a moment or longer, it all depended on how successful they would be at entering the city and if they would be able to use one of the dark skinned people's weird transports to get out of the island.

The moment they got close enough to see the city far in the horizon, the first thing that drew Myra's attention wasn't the city's gates and walls in the distance, but the huge, shiny and pretty crystal hovering far in the sky behind the city. Myra looked to Vrexen and pointed towards the crystal with a curious expression, tilting her head. While she had seen it before a few times from far away, it was the first time she was getting closer to the city and realizing how big it really was. While she had no idea what it was and why it was there, maybe Vrexen knew more about it than she did.

As Myra and Vrexen got closer and closer to the city walls though, Myra began getting more and more uncomfortable and wary of her surroundings. Raising her speed a bit until she was besides Vrexen, Myra gave a quick glance at him, making it obvious she was uncomfortable being nearby the city and then using her camouflage. Due to the speed they were running, Vrexen who was besides her could still clearly see her as a clear light distortion. As soon as they began getting nearby the walls that Myra assumed that guarded the city, Myra would begin slowing down and moving more careful, which made her completely invisible even for Vrexen, although he could still feel her presence due to how close she was from him and the faint smell of meat she had just eaten.

Myra would soon realize as she got closer to the city that... there wasn't a city behind the big walls. Instead, it was just a cave. Sure, assuming how many dark skinned people were around, they probably lived inside the cave but it was strange, seeing how they could build flying and swimming machines but still lived in caves. That said, as they got closer to the walls, Vrexen would feel a short but sudden pull on his tail. Upon looking back, he would see Myra, partially undoing her camouflage, just enough to appear slightly transparent to Vrexen and shake her head with an alarmed expression as she pointed towards the group of soldiers patrolling just a bit further away.

Judging by how many dark elves there were around, Myra assumed that maybe the real city was inside the cave. If that was true, it would be even more guarded inside the cave than outside. While the darkness and the cave environment would surely be beneficial for Myra, which would provide her many spots for her to hide and sneak, she didn't know what the dark skinned people were capable of, if they could see in the dark or anything so she still preferred to be cautious instead of just walking inside with Vrexen, who couldn't hide like she did.

Nabarra froze in her tracks as Koldar apologised, shifting uncomfortably at Koldar's careful consideration of words. She crossed her arms. He was clearly trying to say words that would mean something, but it felt hollow to her. Start over...? She turned slowly to face Koldar, but avoided his eyes as bitterness crept into hers. "Yeah thanks. Really," she scoffed, "I can't just fuckin' start over. You don't need to apologise. Your anger was fuckin' warranted."

A short and awkward silence followed. What she'd said didn't help, but she wasn't about to backtrack. She meant what she said, and as far as she was concerned, Koldar could handle it. Her shoulders sagged.

Koldar was the one to break the silence, mentioning the tailor and somewhere to get a drink. Brilliant. Better still if he was right and this Nest had someone who knew of a resistance. Nabarra's stance slackened as the air cleared a little. "A tailor sounds good. I'll need a bloody good disguise if we're goin' to a bar where people are lookin' for a fuckin' fight though," she said. "But good disguise or no, a bar's better than those fuckin' 'official channels'. Far as I'm concerned, it was never a fuckin' option," she said, scowling at the thought. Of fuckin' course the King's a coward. They all are.

Koldar joked about her getting a cane, and her scowl turned into a wry grin. With some renewed life, she looked up into Koldar's eyes. "Yeah maybe we should get a bloody big ol' grey beard to hide my face, too. Dress me up in some old fuckers' clothes. Really convince 'em tha' I'll be a valuable soldier," she said, chuckling. It sounded odd coming from her, a little awkward, as if she was remembering how how to chuckle. When she was done, she looked towards the alley exit and said "There's an issue. I 'ave barely any bloody money, an' I don't imagine anyone would want to sell to a fuckin' dark elf."

To illustrate her point she plucked her coin purse from her belt and jingled it for Koldar to hear. It made a pathetic tinkling sound. "So unless you're willin' to cover some of it, we may 'ave to improvise."

Nimueh

Time: Morning
Location: Roshmi
Mentions: Nobody

Another knife vanished from a brunch table somewhere in Roshmi. When Nimueh turned the corner she tested its edge with her thumb. Dull, of course. But any dull knife could be sharpened. She already had a steak knife she had stolen from a kitchen and two other butterknives. Ten minutes later she was in a shadowy, filthy alleyway running a rock along the knives’ edges.

The hunt wasn’t over yet. Maybe today she couldn’t catch Nabarra, not in the state her other hand was. But tonight she’d break into a healer’s house and get that fixed quickly. It would scar, but they would just join the other scars on her body.

As her hand went over the century-old rhythms of sharpening a blade Nimueh closed her eyes and started meditating. The grinding noise brought her into her trance. Bringing her back to where she stood on the roof. The arrow hit but not well enough. That was her first mistake. The second was that she allowed Nabarra to crawl up to the opposite roof. Letting her jump over was also a mistake. The raider had fought harder than anticipated. Indeed, she was trained by those who were trained by her father. The most stinging failure was that of her magic though. As the daughter of the famed lady of sorrows, Nimueh should’ve been better. Her weakness was becoming a problem. As a healer would heal the problem that was her hand, she’d need a mystic to deal with her magic.

Again she went over the memory, picking out the pieces. Nabarra made mistakes as well. She disarmed herself before a light elf. Why? To prove innocence, probably. So she was ideological. And loud. Very loud. All that told Nimueh that her prey wasn’t one for hiding. At least she wouldn’t do it well. There would be clues running from the greenhouse. But that place would be swarming with guards now.

“Again.” She whispered to herself. Her mind pulled her back to when she had drawn her arrow. The light elf. Who was he? Not a simple one. The way he held his blade betrayed training but also experience. His features felt familiar. Like she had seen him before some decades ago. He at least frequented the greenhouse. That would be her next target.

Nimueh was pulled from her meditations by the vibrations on her bracelet. She frowned. Who could call her now!? Then she noticed the purple flashing light and never accepted a message so fast in her life.

The hologram from her wrist showed the helmet of Xenelith, her father. “Sir.” Nimueh said, immediately standing at the attention as if he was right in front of her. Though she hoped he wouldn’t see her shameful wounds.

“At ease, huntress.” His voice was cold and stern. Like it always was. Like it always had to be. Nimueh dropped the salute but remained silent. You didn’t speak to a superior unless spoken to. Though she deeply hoped he wouldn’t ask about her mission. “There’s been a change of plans.” Nimueh’s heart skipped. “The king of Roshmi intends to surrender in return for keeping his position as ruler.” Typical. “Amarantha and Basilian will fly towards the city to broker the arrangement.”

Nimueh’s jaw nearly dropped. Wide-eyed she looked at her father, who remained quiet for a moment. Amarantha? Here. Something fluttered in her chest. The queen herself! There was no great hero in Nimueh’s mind, save for her father perhaps. But while she was well acquainted with his coldness, the queen had always felt like something else. Her grace and power was ethereal. Hard to define. Yet she was a role model for Nimueh nonetheless. The way she spun her web of men and magic made it hard for any dark elf girl not to love her.

“Make sure the king doesn’t change his mind in the meantime. Head for the palace. Your presence should be enough. Make sure all the tokens are locked down. The princess is a rambunctious one so make sure she stays in your hand.” Nimueh gave a single nod as she carved the commands into her mind. “And Nimueh.” He used her name! “Make me proud.” The connection cut out and Nimueh exhaled all her tension as she doubled over.

Breaking the treeline of the forest revealed a wide barren landscape. There were few trees, but many stumps where there used to be many as a result of the wood needed to maintain Malthemoor during its early days. The Dark Elves needn't rely as heavily on timber as Malthemoor many of its denizens from the cold.

"Ahhh, what could that be?" He pondered after Myra pointed at the large floating crystal that appeared to overlook the city. She did not appear to know judging by her body language. How could she not know what it was? She is not an infant nor a Mane… So how? How did she not speak, yet understand? How? Mother, do you know? How? HOW?!

Vrexen glanced at his companion, his eyes meeting hers that told how wary she was about continuing towards the dark walls of Malthemoor. He cared not for her fear, anxiousness, or concern. He would push forward, unafraid. Even as she gradually vanished from his sight he continued. In his entire life, he rarely relied on others. Many were a convenience or a means to an end. How could you cooperate in a realm where violence was not only recreation but the way of life. Power and blood were the rewards of dominance over another within a landscape that sought to utterly destroy you.

Vrexen's third eye looked to the crystal, only to shut immediately as it was painfully blinded by the amount of magic within it.

Raaaaagh!" He let out as he also felt a slight tug on his tail that caused him to stop and momentarily bare his teeth to his rear. "What?" He asked sharply. Myra would notice his third eye was shut. She shook her head and pointed at a group of humanoids traversing in the distance. "Why are you so afraid of these creatures. You could kill them if you desired it. They would not even see you if you did it properly… those claws would release so much blood from their…" Vrexen stopped himself. "I will show you the standing our kind has in all the places you can fathom! Follow and watch!"

Vrexen stood up on two feet and marched towards the gates confidently before an arrow struck the ground right in front of what would be his next step. It was not just a simple warning. It told Vrexen that this archer was accurate.

"HALT! Announce yourself and state your business!" There was a short pause, and at that moment, Vrexen knelt down to pull the arrow from the ground. "Or die on Daka!" One of the archers manning the wall shouted while another took aim once more. Vrexen was studying the projectile in his hand before snapping. It was a move of wonder, not intimidation, but how could an archer from such a distance discern that?

"Vrexen! Envoy of Lilith the Mother of Demons! I seek an audience… your two-headed dragon of darkness! Your king! Your queen!" Vrexen roared proudly with arms wide. Vrexen was not sneaking into this city.

In moments, dark elven soldiers moved to surround Vrexen, visually confirming what he was.

"What did you say you're here for?

"Must I repeat myself, child? Audience. Audience with your lords to discuss an alliance. There is war here. Light and dark! My mother haaaates the light, and so do the rest of my kind. The energy in the sky, though not so visible… burns. We cannot eliminate that thing, but we can gut the beings that conjure it on this world. The enemy. Our enemy. So give me audience and I will help nourish this two-headed fiend with victory and power." Vrexen's third eye finally reopened, causing a few of the soldiers to flinch. Their weapons had been ready to be drawn, but word of this demon arriving on Daka needed to be pushed up the chain of command.

Until then, they would escort Vrexen inside, while unknowingly welcoming Myra as well.

The Joverine Boar

Time:10am
Location: By Riverport
Interaction:@Infinite Cosmos Orenn

The boar took the axe to its side but not without clipping Orenn’s leg with its sharp tusk. The creature squealed in pain from the wound, blood spilling down its side. It ran past him, soon turning back towards him. Filled with adrenaline, it charged again, this time heading directly towards him, aiming to swing its tusks into Orenn’s torso.

Myra was a bit disappointed when she heard Vrexen's reply regarding what was the big crystal thing was. Seeing how he kept saying he want to go to the dark skinned people's city to meet a serpent inside, she thought he knew much more about the dark skinned people than she did. The moment he looked at the crystal though, he let out an angered roar, flinching back. That reaction, coupled with the sharp reply towards Myra when he tugged his tail, baring his teeth at her made Myra gave a small jump back, reminding her not to trust Vrexen so easily.

Unfortunately for Myra, he did seem to have exactly the opposite idea than she had, immediately walking towards the guards the second she warned him about them, saying something about how Myra could easily kill them if she wanted. While she knew that she could probably kill them, what made her wary near them was the strange shadows the dark people seemed to be able to control and their numbers. While Myra was undeniably dangerous, she was just one while there were thousands of dark skinned people on the island. Due to all that, Myra knew that the best alternative in order to avoid trouble was to just stay clear of them. Immediately using her camouflage, sneaking and following Vrexen from a safe distance as he walked towards the guards, Myra stood relatively close to him, but always being careful enough to stay out of sight.

Unsurprisingly, the guards reacted in a very aggressive manner the moment they saw Vrexen, going as far as shooting something at his feet in order to warn him. With her nerves on the edge, she watched as Vrexen presented himself, saying he wanted to meet some kind of 'two headed dragon' inside the city. After hearing the reason why he wanted to enter the city, Myra couldn`t help but be confused. She knew how dangerous dragons were and knew better than to mess with an adult dragon, but Vrexen not only wanted to meet a dragon, but he wanted to meet a two headed dragon that for some reason seemed to live inside the city. If a normal dragon was already dangerous, Myra couldn't even imagine how dangerous a dragon with two heads would be. Still, she needed to go inside and as such, despite her instincts telling her that there was nothing but trouble inside the dark skinned people's city, she followed Vrexen as the guards escorted him inside, using her camouflage as she prowled through the shadows.

Time: 10am
Location: Port Vanarosa; Outside the Seagull
Interaction:@HeloNym @Alivefalling Barboda @Benzaiten Éliane @Tae Lizzie @Potter Tigerlily
Equipment:Black coat with fur trim on the hood, dark-colored, plain male clothing, sword with unbreaking and return enchantments, strength enchanted gloves, 2 medium red potions, hygiene products, timeteller, wayfinder, a flask, standard backpack, transmission bracelet and an ama pouch with 1800 amas.

Helio grinned immediately at redhead’s words. It was clear this was a game she liked to play too. ” Who am I to object to the captain's orders? It is important that I appreciate it all in the best lighting of course.”He replied to her smoothly. He was about to make a quip about how he could be her ship, and it would be honorable for a captain to go down with her ship, when Nym’s voice filled in his ear. He supposed he’d save that one for later. Nym’s words amused him greatly. He had suspected he had been interested in getting him drunk and robbing him, but taking him to a brothel… Now that was just too kind. ”What a wonderful gesture. I love dens of sin. No worries, it’s the thought that counts.”

A new female voice entered the atmosphere and Helio spun on his heels with glee to look at her as she spoke. His grin slipped a little and he stared at her, his expression a little more intense than before. Everyone else escaped his mind and his thoughts raced for a moment. That was until he noticed the girl referring to him. Helio picked his grin back up as if it had never fallen, ”Yes. I am very handsome indeed, fair maiden. Helio’s the name, magnificent’s the game.” He introduced himself once again and gave her a bow. The blue-haired girl, Nym and the blonde elf all seemed to know each other. It all made sense considering Port Vanarosa was small and the residents all seemed to at least be aware of each other’s existence.

The red-haired, whatever she was, introduced herself as Lizzie and the blonde stated her name was Éliane and also presented the new girl as Tigerlily. He noted the names in his head, also recognizing that the elf seemed to recognize him, which made sense given her traveler identity.

The bucket-head guy spoke up, stating he’d like to get the move on. Helio’s ears would have perked up like a cat if he had been one when the man mentioned alcohol, ”Helmet head! A man after my heart!”Helio exclaimed with joy as he followed his pointing finger to the ship at the dock. ”She’s a stunner. Thank you father helmet.” He watched him walk off and laughed under his breath to himself.

Nym gestured to the Odds and Ends store and Helio walked over immediately. Glancing over the items rather quickly, he picked up an outfit and the accordion. Helio had always been rather fast at reading a situation and deciding what he wanted. He tossed the amas on the table and shoved the clothing in his bag for later. Accordion in hands, he rejoined the others, already playing a mess of random notes.

The jingle of earrings whispered gently by Aurora's ears as she stood in the corridor of the Castle. A faint scent of floral herbs flourished around her as she listened to the spectacle. Her hands were clasped in front of her and resting on her white tunic. The Kingdom had waited a long time for this moment, and yet it seemed contrived or forced under pressure. Nonetheless, Aurora was sure it was was for the best according to the current light of events.

Her pose was still as the ceremony of events unfolded. Humans were summoned from their world. There was an entropic uncertainty with the magic and outcomes, and Aurora held close to herself, piously enduring all of her thoughts for the goodness of the ritual. She always wished the best for the Sun Kingdom, and this morning’s spectacle was nothing shy of her prayers.

They continued as the event began weaving its powers in the midst of a light magic, which had not been used in far too long. However, as the curls of light stitched their seams of might, something begrudged interrupted the euphemic sounds that Aurora was enjoying. A couple rude vocals of creatures not from Avalia began rudely complaining.

A small squabble ensued to hush the unknowing participants. It appeared somethings never changed in the human world. Their light pessimism could carry through many portals at the speed of sound. It could pierce through the hearts of well trained elves. If such negativity could pester the tail feathers of the Sun Kingdom so easily, it was no wonder what power their light magic held, as long as it did not fall into the wrong hands.

Such a thought should not have crossed Aurora’s mind, and she felt a regret for allowing her mind to slip into such an enemy territory. Her father has told her to keep an eye on the serpent and an eye on the dove, and for this, she forgave herself.

There was no time to be hard on herself. If she were hard on herself, how then would she respond to others around her? She was embarrassed to believe she could act in any unmerciful way to another creature. The humans were unsettled and displaced. Their comfort was compromised. There was a trail of ideas and thoughts that could very well be plaguing them. Their physicality will be pushed by the sudden shift in dimensions, and their lack of patience needed minding.

“Princess Rosaria!” Her nimble voice called into an airy field of suggestion, “With your blessing, I ask for permission to accompany you,” her feet took several steps forward, as her blind eyes looked onward, passed the creatures she had her attention directed to. Her white gaze seemed to look beyond the physical nature and into the mana that was surmounting in their very natures. And soon, the elf was following the group outside the castle towards Odds and Ends.

Time: Early Dawn
Location: Somewhere in the outer edges of the Sun Kingdom
Mentions: Nobody

“What is happening? Someone tell me something!” Galius, the light elf officer, barked as he and his troops raced their horses across the dirt path. Solaris was starting to peak over the woodland canopy horizon in the east. But in the north they saw something else: a red glow and pillars of smoke rising.

“Dark elves!” One of the communicators said as he just finished up the holographic transmission. Tension grew in the group. The attack would have started mere minutes after the declaration. Had the dark elves been on Avalia already?

The officer grit his teeth. They weren’t supposed to get down here so fast. His beloved Aurius was still in the village. Why did the fool insist on gathering herbs here!? Gallius had to reach the village in time. He would not let his love get slaughtered by these animals. So he dug his spurs even deeper into his steed “Yah!”.

They came around the corner of the forest’s path. The officer could almost see the fires. The firelight’s glow could be seen in between the tree trunks and the smell of dirty smoke was thick in the air. They were close.

But a figure was waiting for him as they rounded the corner. A figure dressed in full metal armor, with his hands resting on the cross guard of his massive sword that stood with its tip on the ground. Though he looked ready for whoever was about to come around that bend. A shiver went down the officer’s spine. In the red firelight shadows seemed… longer.

“I have been waiting for you.”

The figure said, his voice metallic from the helmet. What monster had the dark elves created? The officer stopped. A moment later his bodyguard stopped right behind him as well. Horses were restlessly walking around. Kicking up dust. The officer drew his ancestral sword. “I was taught to ask the name of whoever I fight.” He said as he pulled on his reigns to calm his horse down. For now the animal obeyed, though he could feel its frightful breaths underneath him.

“Honorable.”

Gallius couldn’t figure out if the figure was mocking him or speaking truthfully. For a second it was quiet. The officer could hear the crackling of flames in the distance. No, this thing would not give his name. Maybe he didn’t have one. What did it matter? Only Aurius counted. He charged forward, sword down to the side, ready for an upwards swing. One fell sweep, that’s all he needed. Closer… closer… closer! Swing!

Something happened. He heard an animalistic scream. Then saw the twilight sky above. He felt weightless. Then the earth’s pulling force gripped him again as he fell down hard. Pain shot through his body. The officer blinked. He was on the ground. With a wet flop, the head of his horse fell beside him. Behind him he heard the sound of a sharp edge cutting the air. He rolled away. Something next to him kicked up dust.

He got up, just in time. The hulking blade slammed into where he was not even a second ago. Despite its size, it moved fast. The officer looked around. Shadows were growing longer for sure now. Another overhead swing came down for him. Too late! He moved his blade to block it. Better a chipped blade than spilled guts.

In one fell swoop the armored warrior cleaved down upon Gallius. The ancestral sword that had tasted dark elven blood a millennium ago was split in twain like it was but a twig. Its victor, the black hulking sword tore through the officer like he was made of butter. In a second his bisected corpse flopped as two pieces onto the ground.

The warrior looked over at the horses that grew more nervous than ever. The soldiers they carried looked wide-eyed. Then valor overtook them. They drew their blades. “For Solaris! For the king!” They shouted holding their swords and spears up high. The warrior raised his hand as they began to charge him. He let them get closer. Closer.

He clenched his fist. The horses whined. Soldiers went flying and falling off of their dying steeds. They barely got up, dazed from the crash. Then the second volley fell.

Time: Morning
Location: Outside Malthemoor, Daka Island

“To think one of you would travel all the way from the damned inhabitable zone without getting a spear through the chest.”

“Nothin’s more despised than your lot. Even more than our folk.” The soldiers spoke lightheartedly as they escorted the quiet Vrexen through the dimly illuminated cave. Despite his animalistic appearance, the dark elves found Vrexen to be a bit more civilized than their idea of the typical demon. Many had been told tales of mindless creatures that sought nothing but the spread of chaos and destruction.

“In...habitable zone? No. Not from there. I come from the Abyss, my birth place.” Vixen spoke, with his eyes darting toward where he could pick up Myra’s scent the strongest. “And ten spears plunged deep within my chest would fail to kill me.” He boasted.

“I’ll be sure to use eleven then.” The soldiers burst into laughter as Malthemoor, the actual city came into view. A city within a cave dimly illuminated with a greenish glow. It even had its own steel-barred gate, showcasing the effort the dark elves put in their security. It was only natural on Daka, an island where so many creatures aimed to kill those that did not belong. Vrexen did not know the history of these people, but if he had, he would find their resilience something to commend.

“Open the damn gate! We have a guest for our king and queen! Open the gate!” The soldier ordered before the creaking sound of the steel bars were made with the opening of the gates. The group advanced inside where civilians could be seen conducting their usual business. The civilians appeared to be just as hardy as the soldiers in Vrexen’s company, many equipped with weapons and some form of armor.. “Eyes forward, demon. We don’t want something starting because you looked the wrong elf in the eyes.”

“I wouldn’t want something starting either. Mother would be very upset.”

“Sure, sure. Just keep your eyes forward.”

“All of ‘em, too.”

Some time later...

Vrexen and Myra had been escorted directly to the main castle at the deepest end of the city. Even a direct route took some time on foot. Vrexen would likely be the talk of the town, but only for a short time. The war was at the forefront, and it was apparent with the many crimson flags flying depicting a black two-headed dragon. The people appeared to work vigorously towards the war effort, with many civilians carrying ingots of iron and steel to the forges. They would bleed the mines dry if they needed to.

Within the main castle, Vrexen stood surrounded by the soldiers that escorted him within the meeting hall. The gothic themed architecture exemplified the power these elves held. The power to bring darkness into the light. To even consume that very light.

“I now understand why mother favors your kind. I think I like you lot as well.” Vrexen adopted the term as he awaited word from the two-headed dragon of the dark.

Time: 10am, Traveling from Sun Elf Kingdom to River port.
Location: The woods outside River Port then into River Port
Interactions: Boar, Joverine
Mentions: @Alivefalling
Equipment: New backpack acquired from Sun Elf Kingdom odds and ends, traveling essentials including portal hygiene products, his journal along with the ink pot and quill, a small fire starter kit, a water canteen, and a bed roll tied to the top of his backpack, coin purse tied to his belt containing approx. 450 amas from his previous commission. Personal axe, forged from iron but etched with intricate markings, a 'travel-sized' pickaxe, made from iron and kept simple.

Orenn grimaced. The boar had managed to strike him on his left thigh as well. After stumbling back a few steps, the pain panged through the entire left side of his body. "Nngg. You just had to get me one time too, eh, laddie." Orenn exhaled sharply, his blue eyes seemed more icy than normal.

Facing the boar that was readying another charge, Orenn readied himself for what is to come. In his mind, images of how he was going to kill the boar flashed. He could go for a straight-forward swing and separate the boar's head from its body. He can go for a crippling blow, severing the boar's lower legs from the upper counterparts. Or... He can...

Orenn's eyes opened. With a small smile that conveyed the briefest sense of sadness, Orenn switched his axe to be held with his right hand only. With a small nod that seems to acknowledge the boar, Orenn steadied himself as the boar closed in on him. With a long, but smooth, exhale, Orenn stopped the tusk that was coming straight from the boar towards his torso and used the boar's momentum to be thrusted into the air. While 'airborne' Orenn kicked his right leg outwards and swung his upper body so now he is on the back of the boar. Once there, Orenn drove the handle of his axe into the back of the boar's head with the axe blade facing skyward. The boar collapsed into the ground from carrying Orenn's weight and the force exerted from Orenn's axe handle. The forward momentum of the boar made it so the pair skidded on the ground for a few feet before coming to a stop. Meanwhile, Orenn had rotated the axe so the blade is now pointed towards the ground.

"With this blow, I honor you. I thank you for all that you provide to me. May you travel to your forefathers and be at peace."

Orenn thought in his mind. The pointy end of the axe was thrusted into the boar's throat as Orenn forcefully pulled up on the axe handle. With the previous injury sustained, the boar did not struggle much after this second blow. With one close stroke, Orenn removed his axe, leaving the carcass of the boar more or less intact.

The pain from his own injury returned. Orenn looked down as he tore a bit of fabric from his clothing and did a quick field bandage on the wound. "I suppose I'll have to head into town an get some medication for this. Lest it festers then I'm really in trouble..." he thought to himself. "But first. The boar." Orenn approached his kill, kneeling in front of the carcass. With his eyes closed, he gave it a small nod of honor and respect. After that, he got to work taking apart the boar, harvesting everything he could. Tusks, the pelt, and some meat for himself. Any other bits he could not use immediately, he had the wherewithal to burn, as to not attract more predators. With the meat, he started a fire and cooked it. The tusks and pelt he washed in a nearby river. He store the tusks into his backpack and hung the cleaned pelt to dry as he ate campfired boar.

Time: 10 am, Soller
Location: Alleyways in Roshmi City
Interactions: Nabarra @nasty
Mentions:
Equipment: Sword, bow and arrows, small knife, wayfinder, fire kit, a pouch with about 120 amas

Orias only nodded as Nabarra spoke of an inability to start over, a truth he had not considered. This made sense, it was easier for him to change his name, hide his heritage, and simply pretend he was someone new. His past was not so inherently tied to his very race, while a dark elf would attract negative attention just about anywhere. But even what he did wasn’t really starting over, it erased nothing, he still carried all his failures, all he had done was remove himself from a position that would allow him to cause further harm. At the end of the day all that had changed was superficial; his appearance, his surroundings, his routine. He was the same coward, he hid and deceived, and struggled to find the light. And even the dark elf has more wisdom and clarity than I. It is no wonder why Solaris wills my magic to fester and rot away inside an unworthy vessel. His own thoughts sneaking in, drawing his attention away from much of what Nabarra said, but they seemed to be on the same page when it came to avoiding those who served the wishes of the crown.

Even sticking to the back alleyways that snaked and twisted through the city, Nabarra would easily draw attention from anyone they passed. Light and dark elves did not travel together, he would gain suspicion as well, and the last thing he wanted was people looking too closely. It would be much easier on his own, no one would pay any attention to a lone light elf minding his business. But that felt wrong, to leave someone in a city that would no doubt be hostile to them, and with little amas to spend on top of it. He managed a forced chuckle as she mentioned donning a beard and old clothes.

“Too bad you're much too tall to throw on a beard and pass for a dwarf. Cover the ears, wear a hood, and try and pass yourself as some reptilian demi?” He suggested. “I think between us we can cover a disguise and a few rounds. What are amas for if not spending? And improvising might lead to the loss of a hand or time in a cell. I can speak with the tailor if you wish” Orias unclipped his own pouch of amas and shook it, noting that it was getting light as well. He still found it strange to have to think about money, for most of his life it had always just been there. An easy solution to most problems, but accessing his bank accounts would make him trackable, and so they sat undisturbed.
