Since time long past, Earth has been a world of Marvels. From Gods, to aliens, to mutants, powered individuals have walked the Earth, shaping its history. These ages of heroes would come and go, most recently during World War II, when Captain America would lead a new generation of heroes against evil. This age of heroes would end with the disappearance of the Captain and the end of the war.
However, a new age of heroes would begin in the past several years. There would be the Spider-Man, guardian of New York City, the X-Men, champions of mutant rights, and the Fantastic Four, explorers of all of reality. These early heroes would shape public perception of powered individuals. For mutants in particular, things would be hard with groups like the Friends of Humanity and the Purifiers directly targeting them.
But things would improve with the return of Captain America and the formation of the Avengers, Earth’s mightiest heroes. With the aid of SHIELD, a global peace keeping agency, the heroes of the world would continue to battle evil as it presented itself. However, a specter of the past, the terrorist organization Hydra, would turn out to be a major threat.
It was revealed that for decades, Hydra had secretly been in control of SHIELD, manipulating world events. The Avengers would reveal this secret to the public at large, causing Hydra to take drastic action. Using all the resources of SHIELD, Hydra would begin to attack all the superheroes of Earth. This would lead to a massive crisis in which widespread devastation happened across the planet.
In the end, Hydra was defeated, but at great cost. Many people died and SHIELD was left in shambles, before quickly disbanding itself. This led to a period of uncertainty for the world as they were without a global peace keeper. However, Nick Fury, disgraced former head of SHIELD, would convince Captain America to take control of the defense of the world.
Starting Project: Unlimited, Captain America would begin transforming the Avengers from a superhero team into a global defense agency. Seen as the heroes of the Hydra crisis, the Avengers would be welcomed with open arms by the general public.
Both former members and new heroes would be recruited into the Avengers, as they began creating various teams stationed around the world. One of the first teams formed would be based in New York City, operating out of the Avengers Mansion, former HQ of the Avengers.
So I want to run a Marvel roleplay set in its own universe. The actual lore will be formed with the aid of the players as we figure out how long superheroes have been around or what events have specifically happened. Right now all I’m ruling out is M-Day, the Blip, and the Krakoan nation.
I specifically want to play canons, which can be drawn from the comics, movies, or a complete re-imagining. However, original characters are also welcomed as well if that’s what you want. The only thing I ask with character choice is that it would make sense for them to be an Avenger.
As of now only two characters are taken. Steve Rogers is a central NPC and is busy running the Avengers, however you could use someone else as Captain America. I’m also going to play as Jim Hammond, the original Human Torch. At the start of the roleplay, I’ll be allowing two characters per player.
So who is up to forming their own canon as part of a global Avengers agency? Please post your ideas for a character, especially if you are going to be reimagining them.

Seeing if any of you want to join this new iteration of the RP?
