“Why would I want- Aaaaand t'ere she goes. Ugh!” Danny stuck his tongue out at Diana’s receding back. Forgiveness, psh. If anyone needed it, it was her freshie brother! Leah departed and April looked like she was going to pass out any moment now and oh gods, that’s just one more thing that’s going to go wrong and he still had to cook and they still had to do presents but now the birthday boy was gone and maybe Danni was being…

He stared at Mai clambering off a familiar giant with awe. Danni didn’t know he gave piggyback rides! “Non, non, non it was just a freshie dat ran into D. T'ey ran away though so like, whateves but more importantly,” He flailed widely at Mai’s impromptu horse. “Edward gives rides?! Non, wait Freddie. Non, that’s not it eit'er. Frankie? No… Oh, Teddy! Like a Teddy bear cause you’re so big, cute, and cuddly!” Danny snapped as he remembered. He’d really only spoken with the gentle giant a few times, mostly to oh and awe over how big he was. “Teeeeddy, when do I get ta ride you?” Danny offered the bear bear puppy eyes that were immediately interrupted by another random person.

Danny peered at her for a moment, and frowned as he couldn’t place her. “Are you another freshie? Ugh, why are de new meat t'is year so rude? At least, I say please.” Danny grumbled but was immediately distracted once again by his Best Beanie stepping up and taking charge like the bad bitch she was. “You’re right, fuck dat freshie. 'e started it and 'e got what 'e deserved, hmph! But yeah Mai, everyone’s good! Freshie was a little toasty but not'ing injured, sorry I panicked and you were the first person I t'ought of! Sick face paint, btws!”

At the mention of Sabine’s outfit, Danni inspected Mai and Sabine for a moment. “Damn, we’re a good looking group of 'oes.” Danni offered solemnly, like a pearl of wisdom from an ancient philosopher. He nodded silently for a few moments. “Now, as for what we should…”

Danni shivered as a misty rainfall pittered onto them. He looked around for a fire, or something he’d done by accident because, let’s be real, 9 times out of 10 that’s why his favorite mermaid princess was whippin’ up some water but he didn’t see anything and she was off at the food truck by the time he turned to ask her. He shrugged. Maybe he was overheating or something! Not like it was a nice change after all the pyrotechnics!

“Wait, ‘old on. You mean,” Danni paused as he snagged a funnel cake from April’s hand and pressed a kiss to her cheek as thanks. “You mean, I get ta choose?” Danny shoved a handful of the funnel cake in his mouth, getting powdered sugar all over his hands in the process. “Well, we wanted to do fortune telling but now dat D’s not 'ere, 'e might get a little upsetti if we do dat wit'out 'im and 'e’s 'aving a shit day so maybe…” He lucked the sugar off his fingers as he considered the question. There’s 'ook-a-duck, there’s t'or’s hammer, there’s t'e archery club-Oh, we should see if the rumors are true about Kate, btw. Dat sounds like some spicy stuff, right there! Oh! We should go do group… No, D will be pouty about dat too. You know, let's dunk some teachers! D should be chill with dat while we’re waiting for fortunes.

Speaking of D… Danny pulled his phone out and started typing to the family chat, sending a link to the jacket he ruined once it was sent.

Skills: N/A

Madalyne turned to look at Zarina as she started to introduce herself, and rambled on a little bit as she gave her a slight smile, until she finally was able to speak. "It's nice to meet you Zari, you can call me either Mads or Maddie if you'd like either one works for me." She said extending her hand out to Zari as well as Andy for them to shake. "As for what I can do I practice magic mainly myself." Madalyne answered, she didn't have super fancy powers like some of the other students had, but magic was just as cool to use as well in her opinion. She turned to face Victoria, the four of them weren't able to lift up the hammer sadly it would have been cool if any of them were worthy to pick up Thor's hammer.

Victoria suggested trying out the sword fighting with the fake foam swords, that could be pretty fun to do she had learned how to use swords at the school so that could be fun to see if the others could fight with them. "Foam sword fighting could be fun if you guys want to go." Madalyne said as she looked towards the large flaming ball for a moment, that was also pretty interesting to see what that was as well to. "Whatever you guys decide to do. I did get my fortune taken by Miss Harkness not to long ago if you guys want yours taken to." Madalyne told them giving them a friendly smile.

As Diana followed Percy towards Stark Hall, she took a moment to look at the old man who had a briefcase with him, just as she passed him she saw her brother stumble slightly before continuing his way towards Stark Hall, and followed him. Once they were inside of the building Diana couldn't help but be concerned for him as she handed Percy some of the snacks that Dorian ended up dropping on his way to his dorms were as well. "I'm sorry for my friends, that was a total accident Percy and i'm sure that they didn't mean it." Diana told Percy to try and make sure that he was alright before she headed back.

"Are you doing alright other than being almost roasted by Danny? I saw you stumble on the way over to the building." Diana asked, she knew that Percy probably wanted to be alone. "We could go somewhere else on the carnival grounds, if you want we can avoid Danny and Dorian if you want to." Diana suggested if he didn't want to then she would head back to the carnival herself.

Zelda Flynn

Location: the Field (School Carnival)
Skills: Emphatic Constructs

Zelda was not the type of person who was much for talking at all, and usually got fairly freaked out over the idea of random people approaching her or really talking to her. It's why she typically will hide behind a mask of sorts and pretend she's someone else, it typically worked out better for her that way. So she was not expecting anyone to just sort of randomly walk up to her and start talking to her, and that was the problem. Her brain immediately started freaking out a bit, which resulted in some not so great things occurring.

The main thing that happened? Was the fact that her powers decided to go haywire and latch onto Mary Sue's fears in general, which then resulted in the creation of something or whatever that appeared, manifesting her fears of sorts. Well that wasn't what she had expected to have happen at all, and this was adding to the many reasons why she wants nothing to do with most people, since she tends to panic a bit over everything, and freaks out. "I-I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean for that to happen sorry..." she started saying to her, kind of backing away at this point, panicking a bit more over what the hell just happened, and ignoring more or less the beginning part of the conversation.

Zarina Raynordattir

Zari was sort of just looking around at everything, as her attention was pulled back to what everyone else was currently doing and talking about. "Not that surprising, very few people are actually worthy of Mjolnir, that's just how the sort of thing is, aaaaaaaanyway what to do now? Oooooh did you say sword fighting! I was wanting to go do that anyway because honestly that sort of thing sounds like so much fun. Though obviously fake swords and not real ones which is kind of lame, but oh well I have my own sword anyway." Yeah she was happily rambling again about going off and attacking things with a sword.

"01011010 01100001 01110010 01101001 00100000 01101110 01101111 01110100 00100000 01100101 01110110 01100101 01110010 01111001 01101111 01101110 01100101 00100000 01101000 01100001 01110011 00100000 01100010 01100101 01100101 01101110 00100000 01101100 01100101 01100001 01110010 01101110 01101001 01101110 01100111 00100000 01110100 01101111 00100000 01110101 01110011 01100101 00100000 01100001 00100000 01110011 01110111 01101111 01110010 01100100 00100000 01110011 01101001 01101110 01100011 01100101 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 01111001 00100000 01110111 01100101 01110010 01100101 00100000 01101100 01101001 01101011 01100101 00101100 00100000 00110001 00110000 00101110 00100000 01001111 01110010 00100000 01101000 01100001 01110110 01100101 00100000 01100001 01100011 01110100 01110101 01100001 01101100 00100000 01100101 01111000 01110000 01100101 01110010 01101001 01100101 01101110 01100011 01100101 00100000 01100110 01101001 01100111 01101000 01110100 01101001 01101110 01100111 00100000 01100001 01101110 01111001 01110100 01101000 01101001 01101110 01100111 00101110 00100000 01011001 01101111 01110101 00100000 01100001 01101110 01100100 00100000 01001001 00100000 01100010 01101111 01110100 01101000 00100000 01101011 01101110 01101111 01110111 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100001 01110100 00101110"

"I know that! Still doesn't mean using actual swords wouldn't be that bad honestly with the way you act you'd think that people were going to be reckless and poke their eyes out or something. You worry too much." she responded to the robot, before turning her attention towards Madalyne after she made the comment about going to see the fortune teller, and she tilted her head to the side. "Maybe after sword fighting we can do that, caaaaaaaaaause with my experiences listen to the fortune tellers and people who can see the future. They know what they're talking about."

"You hush, and what is it you always tell me? Think before you say something, since clearly you aren't thinking at all, and people think I tend to be the one to ramble a bit. Keep out of it or quit mentioning that," she said, before poking the floating eye who immediately beeped back clearly sounding annoyed. "Aaaaaanyway, I vote sword fighting then fortune teller so let's gooooooo." This time she was being a bit nicer and not just dragging everyone off that direction to see what would happen with it.

Andy shook Mads hand, then glanced in the direction of the fireball, but since none of the teachers seemed worried and there weren't any more signs of something like a fight she assumed it was okay. Though, part of her stayed aware of it. She did not like fire. There was the whole dead adoptive parents thing associated with it.

Then her phone chirped. It was the special tone she had for her mom. So before even looking at her phone, she was groaning. "How about I meet you there? I need to grab something from my room." The thought of her mom being bored and left in the room suddenly seemed like a terrible idea.

"I'll be quick. Meet you at the sword fighting, then after we get a turn there go for fortunes and then some cotton candy. Sound good?" She was mostly telling Zari, but the other two girls were included in her glance. She wasn't excluding them.

This also meant she was going to have to walk around with the dang doll. There was no way anyone who was already snickering at her would let that slide. Why had she let herself be convinced to go back to high school? Sure she was technically seventeen but she didn't fit in here. Of course, there was finally a mutant school that wasn't a prison in disguise or owned exclusively by a rich white dude and she had been born twice as long ago as any of her classmates.

Hating it all...except Zari, who made being here worth it. She left the trio of girls and went back to her room.

Shieldmaiden
Victoria van Dyne

Location: The field (School Carnival)
Skills: N/A

I love it when a plan comes together. Victoria allowed herself a little smirk, as the group seemed to be mostly in favor of smacking each other with pieces of plastic for a while. "So long as we don't have to prove our worth by pulling the swords out of stones first, this will be great. I don't normally use blades outside of class, it will be interesting to scale myself against someone who does." she noted, softly calling dibs on a 1:1 with her roommate. Well, that, and she was genuinely interested in how she measured up. She has of course saved all of the knowledge she should need, however her construction and coding had the annoying property of still needing to practice to actually be any good with physical things like that. She still cringed in embarrassment when her memory took her back to the time she was learning to walk.

The topic then steered towards fortune telling and predicting the future in general, and if she was to be honest, it was grinding her gears. "I can not accept that future can be foretold." she finally shared her thoughts, "Only respect to the practitioners of the craft and the fact that some of them enjoy a modicum of success prevents me from dismissing the possibility outright. But to think that everything is written in stone and one merely needs to read it... I'd need copious amount of evidence to entertain such a thought. That would mean there is no free will and what we think are choices is meaningless." she shuddered just thinking about it. "In any case, I'd rather not know what my future holds. That's a Schrödinger's cat I do not want a glimpse of. I'll sleep better not knowing whether the future is fixed rather than not knowing whether I can do something about a future I know of. I should go wish the old woman a fare well though." she made a note to bring this topic up in philosophy class. Perhaps some ancient thinkers already figured out the answer. Who am I kidding. They probably only came up with more questions.

Phan Le Chi Mai - [Part 1]

Location: The Field (School Carnival) - Blocking Freshies from Foodies
Skills: None Used!
~First Day Fit~

At the sudden yapping sound, Mai turned her head to look down at the insolent little fuck who had the stones to call her peeps out. Well…look down in spirit, since the freshman was…well, her height. Maybe taller, but at the moment, Chi Mai would rather die than admit that. She started to say something, but when Sabine began to speak, she decided to let the girl off with a rolling of the eyes and a scoff. After all, there was a reason she had come.

Her eyes fixed on Danny. He had said that everything was alright - and complimented her sick face paint because he had good taste - but it was clear from Sabine trying to distract him and…well…the big ol’ ball o’ fire, that he maaaaaaybeeeee wasn’t having the best day. No worries. That’s why Tiger Chi Mai was here - to…uhh…well, she hadn’t really put together a plan yet, but fuck it, she’d just wing it and turn anybody who laughed at Danny into soup or something.

Sabine’s comment to April didn’t go unnoticed by Mai - but it was April’s reaction that really thrilled her. Mai cocked an eyebrow but didn’t comment on the exchange when April left. She instead imagined the pair as a couple of old birds holding hands at bingo in the nursing home. It could work! Her money had been on April and Mads shacking up but, fuck it, this was exciting too. Really, the more she thought about it, the more it made sense - April really gave off ‘step on me’ vibes and who better to do the stepping than Sabine?

As Mai married her friends off in her head, she was blissfully unaware of the silent anxiety attack unfolding right behind her.

Teddy Thompson

Location: The Field (School Carnival) - Teddy.exe has stopped responding
Skills: None Used!
~First Day Fit~

As the four chirped away, Teddy tried to calm himself down. He had known Mai long enough to not be surprised by her antics, but that didn’t mean that he particularly enjoyed having her use him as a springboard. Besides he was currently busy wiping what he could only pray was mud off of his hat so…gah. It was whatever. He had felt Sabrina look at him and couldn’t help but to shrink away from her gaze. He felt silently judged? Ah, he was probably just imagining things. The commotion was over, Danny was alright, nothing was burning, he could just go-

Danny was looking at him.

Why?

Teddy couldn’t help but find himself curious about what Danny might say, but the curiosity soon turned into despair. Each incorrect name spoken by Danny pierced Teddy in the heart like an arrow. By the third he was ready to tap out. The lights were on, but nobody was home. He was actively repressing the day as it was unfurling. But Danny, the cruel fuck that he was, wasn’t content with that. So he kept going. And the momentary relief that Teddy felt from Danny guessing his name was quickly replaced by pure terror when the words cute and cuddly were used. Teddy blinked, completely floored. Did he…? Wha…? He pulled the hat back on his head, suddenly no longer remotely concerned about the mud (but please be just mud). If his cheeks hadn’t been red enough before, they practically caught fire when the pyromancer asked to ri-ri…

“Uhm…wha…huh…?” Teddy sputtered before chuckling in disbelief, completely broken by the question until the skies parted and an angel spoke up to spare him. Teddy turned to the new voice, convinced that a shining light from the heavens shone down on his savior. “Oh - I’m so sorry.” Teddy said, using the girl’s kindly gifted out to step away from the line - putting distance between himself and the most dangerous group at AA.

Other things were being discussed amongst the little group, but Teddy - both mortified and on cloud nine - quietly stumbled away, holding what remained of his composure just long enough to turn his back on the group and start back towards the lifting grounds. There was no conscious decision to do so - Teddy was just head empty, ready to lift van again.

Phan Le Chi Mai - [Part 2]

Location: The Field (School Carnival) - Plotting a Murder
Skills: None Used!
~First Day Fit~

Mmm. Something smelled like embarrassment.

Toasty Freshie. And she missed it. Truly a tragedy to rival Shakespeare. When Danny mentioned how good they looked, Mai scoffed. “Duh. All of my friends are hot.” Obviously. It was basically a requirement to be a superhero. She didn’t make the rules, she just followed them.

April returned with food. That was a perfect example as to why Mai fucked with her. She didn’t even have to verbalize that she, now a tiger, could down an adult horse. April just knew. When it was offered, Mai accepted something greasy and fried that would eventually lead to her congestive heart failure but that was probably a couple years away which officially made it Future Mai’s problem. And Future Mai could go fuck herself - why did she always have to be the responsible one for Future Mai’s sake? Dumb bitch had it too good for too long. Today was Present Mai’s day. Today was Tiger Mai’s day.

Then Danny suggested dunking teachers and the eyes of the hunter returned, landing on the boy. “Coulson drowns or today blows.” she offered, downing her meal before reaching out to wipe her hands on Teddy’s shirt, just to find the open air. She tilted her head, looking around before shrugging and returning to the feast. She thought about asking where D had gone but…eh. He’d be back. Probably. She wanted to wish him a happy birthday, but if she didn’t see him around, she’d just go kick down his dorm room door later.

Today was going to go her way or else.

@Ogobrogo: Teddy is more than welcome to make his way back on over to lifting, in order to see if he can beat his best of the day and get a few more crushed vans up into the air. However, along the way back, he would run into one of the teachers at the school - Firestar. A former Avenger and a mutant, Firestar has the ability to manipulate microwave energy, although most people think she just has fire powers.

"Teddy - did you see what happened to cause that fireball?" Firestar asked. She was in charge of his dorm and knew him quite well, having taught a few classes he had been in and whatnot. "Somehow, none of the other staff members had eyes on it..."

@Blizz@BlueSky44@Natsu: As Leah left Agatha's tent, having had her dramatic and serious fortune told, she would see a new disaster unfolding in front of her. Maybe this had somehow been what Agatha had been warning about? Two new girls - freshmen, most likely - appeared to have gotten into an accidental confrontation. Leah would've missed most of it, but caught a glimpse of the illusion Zelda had accidentally projected, that of Mary Sue's parents calling her a failure. Maybe some upperclassmen advice could be used here? As for Zelda, she'd see Leah coming out of the tent. Maybe Leah would be able to help - or maybe now is a good time go find her sister?

@BlueSky44@Forsythe@Nallore: Andy had excused herself to go grab something from her room, so the quartet would become a trio. The booth for the Academy Knights isn't too far away. Assuming the trio does go to approach, they would be greeted by the president of the Academy Knights - the King himself. "What ho, three fair maidens do I see? Challengers, perhaps, to face off in a duel?" the King paused, noticing again that one person in particular was ready for another bout, and still undefeated - a dark haired girl with braids and a crest of a gold dragon on her armor.

"Will you be facing each other or is anyone so brave as to fight our champion of the tourney thus far, the brave Ser Megan?"

Ser Morgan regarded the trio intensely. She had an unnerving stare.

@Kirah: As Andy heads back to Stark Hall to grab something from her room, she would notice not very many people were actually in the building at the moment - that she could see. There was a blonde girl and a short boy with brown hair who were talking in the lobby, but otherwise not really anyone was around. When she got back to her dorm room itself, it was more or less the way she had left it - with one critical exception.

The doll imprisoning the soul of her evil immortal mother, the dark priestess herself, SELENE! - somehow, the doll had moved. The Selene doll was now sitting on the floor in the middle of the room, with all of Chi Mai's potted plants (Debbie, Rock, and Bub) in a triangle around her.

"There wasn't enough for a proper circle, bah!" Selene complained, as soon as Andy came into the room. "I need you to get me some candles, black flame, won't you be a good dear and do that for mother dearest?"

@Trainerblue192: Ser Nemo looked at Dorian quizzically for a moment. "I'm not a fish....? Oh!" he chuckled, realizing the source of the confusion. Words sounded differently to him - he heard them for their true meanings. And in the case of his name, it did not refer to an animated clown fish. "I see. No, I am afraid that I have no affiliation with Pixar - an elderly queer man is hardly what they look for in terms of protagonists in the early twenty first century."

Somehow, Ser Nemo's electric kettle had already been running - despite neither of them having been in the room for very long - and it whistled, announcing that the water was ready. Perhaps Ser Nemo had already been intending to make tea before going out for a stroll on the grounds...? But that didn't make very much sense either. Maybe they'd been in the office longer than Dorian had realized.

Ser Nemo took out two teacups - the set looked rather fine, something that must've cost a pretty penny. He poured the hot water and portioned out the loose leaf tea into two tea infusers, adding them into the cups. The cream and sugar, he then set those down on the desk in front of the two of them - as well as a third tiny flask, a cordial really. "Let it steep for a moment. It's Earl Grey, I hope you enjoy it. I have cream and sugar - and some vanilla as well, should you take it with that," Ser Nemo explained.

He had listened to Dorian's tale of woes, and his heart did break for the young man. But this day was not such a large disaster that it could not be salvaged - there would be greater sorrows to come for the young Mr. Gray, that Ser Nemo was cursed to know. It was the way of the world. Nothing gold could stay. "When I was your age, I could not control my powers either," Ser Nemo commiserated. "I humiliated myself with them. But... had that not happened, I would not have met my first love. These things have a way of working themselves out, Mr. Gray. Your birthday is not yet over - I imagine your friends perhaps were just waiting to give you gifts. Professor Harkness is still there to do readings, and I am certain there are still many cute boys for you to meet."

"But perhaps I can help to make your birthday right," Ser Nemo said, before handing Dorian the small package he had been carrying earlier. "A gift, from the faculty to you. It is never easy being away from home on your birthday. I hope you treasure this."

Percy Novikov

~New Outfit~

Percy was indignant over the way he had been treated - but he was also hungry. And no one else seemed to be in Stark Hall, so his pride wasn't going to take too much further damage by eating some of the snacks his sister gave him. He grumpily put a handful of kettle corn into his mouth, doing his best to look angry even as his stomach rejoiced at the influx of sweet, sugary food. "You'd think they'd have learned how to control their powers - or just maybe, maybe using your powers to do the light thingy wasn't ideal - or hijacking someone's body without consent could be considered assault," Percy snapped. He wasn't angry at Diana - he was angry at the older boys who had hurt him.

He didn't mention that this situation had started due to Percy's own powers misfiring, but bumping into someone was different from setting them on fire and then possessing them. It was an entirely different class of offense. "And I'm fine, I just tripped over something," Percy lied. He didn't know what had come over him briefly, and he didn't want to think about it anymore. The day had been traumatizing enough.

He didn't particularly want to be the pathetic loser boy tagging around his sister, but he knew hiding off in his dorm room for the rest of the day wasn't a good look either. And he doubted Diana would actually let up. She was probably even more overprotective of him than their moms were. Percy sighed. "Just - just let me get changed, okay? We can't let those assholes ruin our day, I suppose." Percy then took the elevator up to the sixth floor. He opened up room 601 with his keys, and noted that his roommate still wasn't there.

Percy strummed his fingers on the dresser for a moment, before opening up the drawers and quickly assembling a new outfit. He hadn't anticipated needing to do a wardrobe change on his first day. But given how his favorite jacket had already been ruined, Percy decided to dress down compared to before. He swapped out his shoes for a pair of converse sneakers; for pants, he went with dark black skinny jeans; for his top, a plain black t-shirt. And to finish off the look, he put on a leather jacket/grey hoodie combo. If he got too hot, he'd ditch the jacket.

"Подними голову, Новиков," he murmured, staring at his reflection in the mirror. He would never admit it, but part of him was nervous to get back out there to the carnival. Everything had gone so wrong with the first group of students he had interacted with, what was to prevent things from getting worse?

He tried to shake those feelings off, as he left the room, locked up, and took the elevator back down to the first floor where he had left Diana. "Alright, sister dear, where to?"

April Flynn

Location: the Field (School Carnival)
Skills: N/A
~First Day Fit~

April had made a mental note to tell Dorian exactly what Danny had said so innocently to Teddy later. She would've texted it to him, but her hands had been a bit full with all of the food she had grabbed from the truck. The group had moved off to the side of the line now though, so hopefully no more mean freshmen would be criticizing them for holding the line up. April was pretty sure she'd have a nervous breakdown if one more thing happened that day. It was still bad enough she had made everything wet in front of Sabine...

April wished she could go ghost right about then and there, rather than make eye contact with the Most Perfect Girl in the world. She felt only slightly better when Danny kissed her on the cheek in thanks for the food. At least it had been before he'd eaten the funnel cake, so she didn't have powdered sugar lips on her face. "Yeah, you get to choose!" April encouraged. Had Dorian been there though, it obviously would've been his pick.

The promise of gossiping about Kate Bishop also helped her feel a little less mortified - she had never really gotten the appeal of Kate and Tommy as a couple. It felt like they were each other's beards, if anything. April was even considering if it would be too inappropriate to ask Agatha her thoughts on that entire situation, surely her mystic powers had to have SOMETHING to tell them...

"Yes, yes, let's go drown Coulson! If we miss, as long as no one is looking who would get me in trouble, I can see about making sure he gets dunked anyways. You don't think I'd get detention for it, right? Could always say my powers are going out of control. Everyone's powers are out of control here all the time, it's why the insurance rates are sooo high and barely anyone is willing to cover the school, like I think a bunch of Avengers' personal fortunes are basically going into paying the rates, that's what my mom says to me anyways.... Sooo dunking time? Yes, dunking time, you're coming, right, everyone? We could invite the mean freshie, she seems lonely, but also... kinda awful, not gonna lie," April rambled, saying the last part a bit quieter, just in case she was overheard.

April looked at Sabine expectantly for a moment, wondering if she would be joining them at the dunk tank. Maybe if she did get caught using her powers to dunk Coulson, Sabine could just edit everyone's memories to keep her out of trouble... April's mind briefly went off topic, having a vivid imagination of April and Sabine ending up in detention together, and somehow, there was just one desk, one chair, their hands touched and....

"Let's go, everyone!" April then chimed in, before walking in the direction of the dunk tank, while eating a candy apple.

Dorian Gray

Location: Nemos Office
Skills: First Day Fit

Dorian buried his head further into his arms as he lay across Sir Nemo's desk. Listening to the old man as he muttered away trying to piece together his earlier comment. As if to accentuate the end of Nemo's sentence, a Kettle began to whistle, causing his head to look up. When did 'e put t'e Kettle on? His gaze focused on the steam rising out of the spout, lost in thought until the sound of clinking glass, or perhaps porcelain, filled the room. Right. 'e'd mentioned tea… Though Dorian struggled to recall the events, his mind quickly began filling in the blanks. Nemo must have set the kettle to boil as he was rubbing his eyes free of tears, he'd only now noticed it because it began to whistle. That's all.

At the very least that's what Dorian wanted to believe. A new scent hit the air as its aroma wafted and filled the space before him. Sure the tea being pulled out was loose leaf, no real indication of type or flavor, but Dorian instantly knew. He'd often times compared the scent to that of Fruit Loops, lavender mixed in with black tea. It was - Sir Neml interrupted his thoughts as he finished Dorian's mental sentence. Earl Grey, precisely that. He stared at the cup of tea for a moment before stammering out his appreciation. "Th-thank you." He was at a loss for words as he went through the motions of adding the vanilla before tossing in a dash of cream.

A part of him wondered if Sir Nemo knew, or perhaps this was just a favorite of the old gay man. A thought that made Dorian internally cringe as he felt the years pack on with that mental statement. As the liquid within the cup began to change hues from a dingy brown, to an amber, and finally a deep red, all tinted opaque by the added cream, he noticed a dish on the desk he hadn't seen before. It was full of strange…candies? Pastries? Some odd sort of sweet he hadn't seen. He didn't bother asking, reaching over and taking one before plopping it into his mouth and carefully chewing the delicious treat as he listened to Sir Nemo's tale. He'd wanted to interrupt a dozen times, asking about his powers, how they went nutso, as well as how he met his love and where he was now.

He'd already grabbed several more Turkish delights subconsciously, waiting for a moment to ask all his questions. Before Dorian could ask, he was presented with a gift. The same package he'd seen the old man carrying outside was now being gifted to him. He pocketed the remaining Turkish Delights in order to free up his hands before delicately unwrapping the present. His eyes lit up, looking down at the gift, then towards Nemo, then back down at the gift. Inside lay a perfectly preserved dinosaur fossil, a front claw of the Spinosaurus. Aside from making an amazing room decoration, it was also a remarkable gift to even see given how most of these specimens fossils were lost during wars. "Por moi? T'ank you. I…t'ank you…"

Dorian was at a loss for words, which was saying a lot. In all his years he'd never heard of faculty giving students birthday presents, let alone to him. Was this Junior privilege? After years of being here did they start to give him recognition? His thoughts were cut off as he felt his phone vibrate within his pocket. He carefully placed the box on his lap before fishing out his phone and seeing Dannis' message towards the family group chat. It seemed he was already making plans to try and make amends for the jacket, they'd have to figure out where Percy was staying so they could drop it off later. Dorian sent a quick text back to Danni before he flipped his phone closed, placing it back into his pockets.

His eyes were still slightly red from the previous tears shed, but by now all of those feelings had washed away. There was a ghost of a smile on his face as he looked towards the gift once more. "Merci Sir Nemo. T'is means a lot to me, but I t'ink its time I rejoin mon amis. T'ey're probably worried about me. I'd hate to waste good tea…I'll bring it back after I drop off my gift in my room. Promise." Dorian grabbed the tea cup, placing the gift under his arm the same way that Nemo had been holding it when they ran into each other. Today was finally looking up again, a new revitalized pep in his step as he sipped at his tea while making his way up to room 602.

As he apporached his door however, he noticed a piece of paper taped to it. Dorian rolled his eyes, figuring that perhaps it was another weird note from some kid in this school. They were harmless love notes, something he and Danni could laugh about later as they guessed who could possibly be writing them. But he supposed it was par for the course when you had an online following and personality. He began to read the note, attempting to take a sip of his tea but freezing in horror instead. Without realizing it he'd let go, dropping the teacup as the sounds of shattering porcelain brought him away from the horrid words.

First Day Fit

Well.

Shit.

Agatha's readings seemed less like a reading and more like a heavy prophecy that hung over Leah's head. Of course, she understood exactly what it meant. There wasn't anything cryptic to decipher in the meaning, no extra questions that came from ones already answered. No, it was about as clear an answer as anyone could possibly get. She had to kill him one day, and make sure he was actually dead this time. She was hoping that day wouldn't actually come, or if it did, that it wouldn't come for a long time. Though, it already has been a long time, so it could be tomorrow for all Leah knew. Oh well. Under normal circumstances, Leah chose to punch things in a philosophical, nigh meditative way when she had a big question she needed to think for a while. The sound of absurdly strong fists hitting a punching bag was like the language of the universe flowing through her ears, giving her the wisdom she needed.

These were not normal circumstances. Normal circumstances didn't involve a prophecy written in the stars... Or was it the cards? Was it both? Honestly, Leah didn't know. Maybe it was in the stones, considering Leah was handed a tool of divination from Agatha. She didn't even understand divination. Alas, it was a gift, so she would keep it. She had punched things enough today, so instead, Leah felt like testing her luck against another cosmic force of nature that wasn't destiny, but worthiness. Whatever the hell that meant. Leah walked across the academy grounds until she got to the hammer, which no one seemed to be testing themselves against by the time she got there.

"Hammer, hammer, on the ground. Does your judgement deem me truly sound?" She mused aloud, and then knelt down to reach her grip around the handle. And then, with all the might and heft of one who could shatter a mountain, Leah made an attempt to lift the hammer from where it sat. There was likely some otherworldly presence watching out of curiosity, or amusement at the notion that someone of her... descent could lift it. Alas, Leah was not one to avoid taking shots the had the opportunity to take.

Sabine Bassard

First Day Fit

Sabine looked over at April as the girl practically fell over on herself at Sabine's words. Weirdo. But a cute weirdo nonetheless. But the time for that was passed. Danny was her sole focus. Even with Mai there in her adorable get-up. And she was right. They were all hot. Must be something in the water.

Danny's suggestion of the dunk tank was not without merit. Dunking the teachers and staff would be a surefire way to lift up Danny's spirits. Especially Coulson. The man could serve to be dunked on, though she imagined it was not the first time he was. "The Dunk Tank it is. Can't want to see the look on Coulson's face." At that mental image, Sabine smiled gracefully. April returned with food and Sabine had to fight off a gut reaction. Visceral in nature. Her relationship with food was better. Not great, but better. Danny was the only one who knew of it. She wondered if he was aware of her thoughts. Sabine decided to ignore the food for now. Perhaps she will grab some popcorn or something light later. "Danny, you can't just ask to ride someone. What will people think?" Sabine added with a wink.

Some little freshman twerp decided to open their mouth in her presence and, by the grace of goddess, Sabine decided to just ignore them. "Ignore them. The school will chew them up and spit them out if they enter with that amount of attitude. Shall we?" Sabine linked arms with Danny as she propelled forward toward the dunk tanks.

"We are at this school for a reason. If they didn't want us using our powers, then we would be at some other school for normies. Can you imagine? If all else fails, I'll make them forget what they saw. Maybe even throw in a memory of them wetting themselves for good measure. Nothing brings a person down like public embarrassment. Sabine checked back to see if either the big bear or the almost-going-to-be-toasted-if-she-continues-to-run-her-mouth freshie followed them. If they knew better, they would go about their day.

Mary Sue Sullivan

Location: The Carnival: Agatha's Booth -> Inside Agatha's Booth
Skills: N/A
First Day Fit

Mary Sue's smile quickly fell away form her face at the sight of the apparition. "I- I um-" She started to say, her voice faltering. She was holding back tears as, without much thought, she quickly turned and ran away. She didn't know what that was, or if it was on purpose, or if it was real, but none of that particularly mattered to the young Sullivan. She was hurt; just hearing those words were caustic to any sense of confidence she might have had. Right now? She had no idea what she was even doing here. She wasn't cut out for this, not to be a hero, not to be anything.

Breaking from the crowd in the most obvious way possible, Mary Sue found herself, without much consideration, stumbling into Agatha's tent. With almost a flinch at the awkwardness of the situation, she looked at the witch, and forced out. "I-i-" sputtering on her own words, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to come in here I'm sorry it's just today is hard and I shouldn't be here and I can't do this and I'm sorry." She said, a bit more quickly than even she herself could process. One part of her wanted to leave and head backj out, and not impose on literally anybody right now, but she honestly couldn't force herself to move, feeling stuck in place, and shivering with fear, self loathing, and doubt.

Danny scarfed down the rest of his funnel cake in one bite, barely bothering to chew, and offered Mai a fist bump in solidarity as he snagged some napkins and cleaned off before Sabine wound her arm through his. She was the bad bitch of the group and he knew she’d fuck someone up if he got powdered sugar all over her and frankly, the day had had enough fuck ups already (not him of course. Just the Mini-Diana and Banshee the Freshie). So instead, he leaned into Sabine’s side and cackled at the mental image of Coulsin hitting the water of the dunk tank. Of course, as soon as April mentioned using her powers for evil the Greater Good (duh), all thoughts of fuck ups left his head. “Yeah, yeah! Just like, signal, and I’ll make like a flare or somet'ing! They won’t even notice ‘cause you’ll be so sneaky and you’ll 'ave a distraction!” Danny was practically vibrating with excitement, having learned nothing from the past encounter with his abilities.

Of course, that changed as soon as Sabine’s tone turned teasing and she brought up Danny taking a ride. What was so weird about it? Mai got a piggyback ride, why couldn’t he get a… It took a few moments for it to click in his head and he gaped awkwardly at her for a few seconds before he blustered and sputtered, ears turning brighter than the fireball he set off. He didn’t mean it like that! He was just jealous of Mai! Something dark and nasty settled in the pit of his stomach, churning from something other than poorly cooked carnie food and ignore health codes, but he simply did what he did best whenever there was a problem: avoid, avoid, avoid! And he launched into a rambling spiel instead.

“Ooooh, speaking of ot'er people talking, did you 'ear why Professor Agatha is leaving? Like, yeah t'e official version is because she 'as a new job offer but I 'eard from a friend’s sister’s cousin that is superduper reliable that she actually was helping that Foucault gal blackmail Coulsin because 'e’s a not super crazy clone of Sinister so she’s being forced out too!” Danny was like, 56% sure that was what he heard and it connected so perfectly like, it had to be true, right? “What if we dunk 'im and 'e like, melts or some weird clone thing?! That'd be so cool! Do you t'ink we’d be murderers tho? Do you t'ink t'ey’d let us stay even if we killed the 'eadmaster?” Danny pondered.

The familiar chime of Dorian’s ringtone interrupted his train of thought and he whipped out his phone real quick to check the text. His smile grew even wider as he read it. “Aight, D’s gong join us in a bit! I’mma tell 'im ta meet us at the Dunk Tank, unless 'e wants ta do fortune telling right now.” Danny announced, already texting back his response.

He barely heard the familiar sound of a portal opening before he was assaulted by fabric, a jacket or sweater or something flying straight into his mouth. He dropped his phone, pulling the offending garment off his face, as he heard a familiar giggling. He pulled it off his face in time to catch Maxie giving him a shit eating grin while his Pops reached over a fancy looking table to smack him, Papa blowing a kiss, and the familiar sound of Benjie’s disappointed sigh. “What fuck did they just…” Danny grumbled as he actually looked at piece of clothing. It was the Mini-Diana’s replacement jacket. He only got it as a peace offering for Dorian because Dorian was obviously butt-hurt about the whole situation. It seemed good enough for him so he shrugged, threw it over his shoulder, but his step faltered and he turned very, very slowly to look at Sabine.

“Wait a minute… Did you just offer ta mind wipe de teachers but you wouldn’t mind fuck some freshman for me?!” Danny fake gasped, clutching at his neck as if he had a string of pearls around it. “Rude!”

Ardere Terrane

Wanting to retort to the comments by the pyromancer, Ardere bit her lip and whispered her gratitude as the group moved away from her path. Sensing mild hostility from the upperclassmen, the redhead ate away her sorrows at the carnival food she ordered. Thank goodness these luxuries were free. As just another face in the crowd, Ardere continued her wandering, gazing up at the decorations, advertisements, and the various feats of superpowers being performed by the students. A part of her wanted to spectate Thor's Hammer challenge yet her body migrated to the entrance of the fortune teller.

'Hocus Bogus' as her older brother would say. Peter, for all his kindness, has little patience for this kind of superstition. Ardere almost laughed at the thought. Though there was someone already inside, the redhead was content to wait to finish her meal. She figured it would be more polite that way; not getting any stains on the tablecloth or worse, the tarot cards.

Madalyne looked over towards Victoria for a second and shrugged slightly. "It's just for fun, whether you believe in it or not it's still cool to get one regardless. But it is Agatha's last day here so you should visit her anyway whether you get a fortune told or not." Madalyne said as she decided to follow the rest of the group towards the Academy Knights area, she nodded towards Andy who had gone off to get something from her dorm room. "I already got mine taken, so i'll probably head off and do something else if you guys go for Agatha next." Madalyne told them, she wanted to meet up with her roommate anyway and see how she was doing.

When she stopped at the area Madalyne looked around at everyone that was there, she decided to go for a little bit of a challenge. "I'll go against Ser Megan." Madalyne said. She went over to grab one of the fake foam swords off of the rack looking over to the king. "Any rules, and are powers allowed or not?" She asked, figuring that there should be some kind of rules set up, if powers weren't allowed that was totally fine as well to. She was more or less excited to get this going.

Diana stared at her brother for a moment, when he said that he was fine after the stumbling bit, she felt something was else was off but she decided to not pry any further unless it happened again. Diana still could understand why Percy was still pissed off about the entire thing that happened but regardless it was still an accident. "I'll be here waiting lil bro." Diana said as she looked over seeing a girl entering the building heading to her dorms most likely. Diana leaned against the wall slightly as she pulled out her phone and looked around SuperLink when a few minutes later the elevator opened up and Percy came back.

Diana thought for a moment on what they could do there was a lot really. "Well there's fortune telling by Agatha, giant chess, the dunk tank, sword fighting, VR duck hunt, face painting, photos you can dress up and whatnot, spin the wheel for a prize, test your strength, archery, trivia, try to lift Thor's hammer, and food, you pick you had the shitty encounter so you deserve to pick whatever you want to do." Diana told her brother, whatever he wanted to do she'd do it with him.

Teddy Thompson - [Part 1]

Location: The Field (School Carnival) - Lying By Omission By the Judgy Hitty Tool
Skills: None Used!
~First Day Fit~

Van go up. Van come down. OnlyVans. Subscriber count: one Teddy Thompson, but not the English folk rock musician who penned the 2020 Americana album Heartbreaker Please whose stance on vans currently remains unknown.

In a bit of a daze, Teddy made his way through the crowd, carelessly giving about as much thought to where he was going or what he was walking through as Godzilla in Tokyo. Or maybe it’d be more apt if he were compared to the giant cave bear from the critically panned 1933 flop Son of Kong. He just needed himself a giant albino gorilla to fight…well, on second thought, that didn’t turn out so hot for the bear so may-

In his stupor, Teddy hadn’t heard Firestar call his name. He had only just managed to stop himself from plowing over her. He had caught maybe the last three words, studying her face for a moment or two before he put together the context clues. “The fire…? OH! Yeah, that. Sorry, I was just somewhere else there for a minute. Sorry about that.” he started, considering for a moment how he wanted to phrase it. On the one hand, he didn’t want to lie to her. Ms. Jones had been pretty solid to him over the years. But on the other, he was absolutely not about to risk blabbing Danny’s involvement to her. He didn’t think it’d be a big deal, but why risk it? Bad gas travels fast in a small town. He chuckled before continuing. “But yeah, it’s all okay. Pretty sure it was just an accident, but nobody got hurt and nothing caught on fire. Hell, people were probably thinking it was just part of the show if we’re bein’ honest, Miss J, so it ain’t worth sweatin’ if you ask me.” he offered, blissfully unaware of his new roommate’s traumatic introduction to Avenger Academy. As he spoke, Teddy made his way around her, punctuating his sentence with his hiking a thumb over his shoulder. “Well, hey, it was super nice seeing you, Miss J, and I’d love to stay and chat, but I gotta date with some minivans. Try to relax and have a good time, yeah?” He called to her before turning around and taking his leave, quietly desperate to get the fuck out of that conversation before she pressed and he cracked.

As he walked back the path to the minivans reinvigorated - a new man, really - his eyes landed on somebody attempting to lift The Hammer. Teddy stopped, watching for a brief moment before shaking his head and continuing on. He hadn’t yet earned the privilege of being judged. Really, what had he even done to even remotely entertain the idea of being worthy? And to be completely honest with himself, at the end of the day, what did it matter? When he searched his heart, hammer or no, he would still want to help people. Even if he ended up never becoming a certified hero, he’d still earnestly want to help however he could.

His resolve strengthened, Teddy pressed onward.

Phan Le Chi Mai

Location: The Field (School Carnival) - Stalking the Prey
Skills: None Used!
~First Day Fit~

As the group marched onward, Mai tilted her head towards April as the girl rambled. “Bruh…did you partake without me?” she teased, pantomiming hitting a fat rip as she walked. It was all fun and games but like…she really could go for a smoke right now. Maybe she’d see if April was down later. If not, fuck it, she’d do it anyway. It wouldn’t be too hard to slink away. She could be gone and back before they noticed, no problem. Maybe when they went for fortunes then. She wouldn’t admit it, but all that mystic shit gave her the creeps. It was bad mojo fucking with forces you didn’t understand. Bad mojo, bad vibes, bad times.

When the conversation turned towards ensuring Coulson found his way to the murky depths of the sketchy dunk tank, Mai bit her tongue, letting them devise a plan. It was nice to dream, but there was no need for a backup plan. She would be dunking the bastard herself. Mano y womano. Sure, Mai couldn’t throw to save her fucking life, but we weren’t dealing with regularly ol’ plain Jane Chi Mai today. It was Tiger Chi Mai. And Tiger Chi Mai could hopefully throw a goddamn ball. She could feel it in her veins. Everything felt right. She couldn’t miss today. At anything. In fact…

“Man, if Kate and Tommy DID split, I’m a thousand percent going for it.” Mai said, the thought forming as she said it, her having just then processed what Danny had brought up earlier. Moving right along as if she hadn’t said it, chimed in with a resounding “Yoooo!” when Danny announced that Dorian was coming back. The universe was aligning. She could wish Dorian a happy birthday, then get high. Because, and let’s be real here, if she sparked up, it was going to be a struggle to find the motivation to leave her room, let alone perform her responsibility as a friend.

There were certainly other parts of the conversation that Mai had most definitely heard, but most of it went in one ear then out the other. She was in a mood and talking with her when she was like that was futile, really.

The gremlin was out to play today.

Teddy Thompson - [Part 2]

Location: The Field (School Carnival) - Making More OnlyVans Content
Skills: Ursine Physiology - Enhanced Strength
~First Day Fit~

As the slowly moving line of folks began to thin out, Teddy patiently awaited his turn. By then, most of the people interested in lifting stupid heavy things had already had their chance. The line so far was mainly filled with those who weren’t quite content with the results of their first go, or those they couldn’t be bothered to wake up before noon. Either way, Teddy was at the end of line, with seemingly nobody filing in behind him. Which was better for him anyway - he wasn’t the biggest fan of having a bunch of people perceiving him.

By the time Teddy got to the front of the line, he had managed to center himself. The excitement from earlier was gone, as was his troubled heart from the first go around. He wasn’t about to let minivans make or break his ego. He was there because he wanted to do better. Nothing more, nothing less. And whether that was the full truth or not didn’t matter, as when Teddy stepped up to the first crushed minivan, he closed his eyes, breathed deeply, then went to work.

Twenty-two.

Where previously a troubled Teddy had managed only three measly vans, centered Teddy had lifted twenty-two. Earlier, out of pure shame and desperation, he had almost asked Mai to give him a little nudge - to speed up his body processing the medicine. Dr. Jekyll was about ready to give in and let Mr. Hyde run amok. But…he didn’t. He persevered. And he did it. He really did it. Twenty-two. Like the other Teddy, he hit twenty with little trouble. Twenty-one was a bit of a challenge as Teddy could feel his body wanting to rebel, but he pushed through it. Twenty-two nearly pushed him to the edge. He could have kept going - he felt that in his bones - but the cost would be too high. Even twenty-two felt as if he were pushing it. He could feel himself beginning to lose control. The stress had almost made it too difficult to hold back even with the medicine…but he had managed it. The sheer relief that Teddy had felt was overwhelming. Twenty-two vans…without going full werebear. There were still some drawbacks - he still wasn’t peak - but Teddy could work with twenty-two. If it meant not being that fucking monster...it was acceptable. More than that, even. Twenty-two…hah!

At the time of walking away from the minitower of minivans, Teddy hadn’t yet noticed that the coarse fur had progressed up his neck and down his back, or that his muscles had swollen and he was standing damn near two and half inches higher than he had before, or that the tears in his shorts had gotten worse due to his thigh growing larger. The skin of his palms had a bit of an ashen look to them, but Teddy had written it off as just oil or grease from the vans. He was riding the high of absolutely obliterating his original goal AND for outdoing other Teddy. Even if it was only by two, and even if it wasn’t quite the thirty that he had boasted earlier, and even if the other Teddy would most definitely come back to completely shame him when he ripped out fifty flat without breaking a sweat, Theodore Thompson was considering it a win. It was hope.

As he left the grounds, he made his way back toward the dorms, hoping to get a quick shower and maybe change out of his gym clothes before heading back out. On the way, he felt his stomach growl and it finally dawned on the big man that he never did get a chance to grab lunch - the entire reason he went to the food stand in the first place - before everything went down. He chuckled to himself, happily heading on, promising himself that he’d pick up something after he washed up.

Maybe it was going to be a good day after all.

Andy sighed. And started putting her roommate's things back where they belonged. "You can't take Mai's things." She said shaking her head. "And no. I'm not getting you ritual materials. That's how we got into this mess." Andy realized she shouldn't take Selene into Agatha's tent. She had no idea what Agatha might know and she did not want to deal with the two of them making friends. Even if Agatha was apparently transferring to a different school.

Andy then grabbed the bag she had gotten specifically for carrying Selene around. If Selene had just stayed as a box this wouldn't have gotten weird. But since she was the weird doll... Well Andy wasn't going to lock her in a trunk and hide her from the world. That would drive anyone mad. And Selene was already crazy enough. This way Selene could get enrichment.

"There is a school fair going on. You can join, but please be on good behavior, if you aren't I'll bring you back here." After putting Selene in the bag, Andy headed back out to the field. She hoped the others were still at the sword-fighting thing. Maybe when they moved onto the tent she could grab food for Zari and herself. And if, Zari's roommate...Victoria(?) wanted food for her too. And the other girl, Madalyne. Oh god, would Madalyne know who Selene was? She had said she practiced magic. What was a magic person doing here and not at like Strange Academy? Strange's school wasn't new either.

Her mind swirling and overthinking everything, like usual. She made her way back to the field where the fair was happening. Absolutely nuts. Why had she thought this was a good idea? High school, at her age? It should be different from 2020, but teens didn't seem to change. Maybe she'd have to accept that she needed to try to fit in. Coming here she just wanted to learn how to protect her mother...or rather protect the world from her mother. That was what mattered. She shivered, despite the heat and the comforting jacket that made her way too hot. Maybe she should have left that in her room. Shorts would have been a good idea too. San Francisco was never this hot. Why was southern California broken?

Zelda Flynn

Zelda wasn't entirely sure what to really think, but things were definitely going from bad to worse at this point. She went to try and say something else to Mary Sue, but eventually she seemingly took off into the fortune teller's tent, leaving her alone at this point. Now she wasn't sure what to do, but that was definitely adding to the idea of her not wanting to really talk to many people and all, and she just wanted to go find some place to take off to and be alone. She never meant for her powers to go haywire, they just tended to happen.

This was just a lot of problems that she didn't want to deal with, so she left the tent behind and basically just wanted to stay by herself. There were several other things she could do, but she figured that maybe she should go put her bear away for the moment instead of just carrying it around all day, so she started making her way towards the dorms, in order to put the stuffed animal away and maybe just have a few moments away from the crowded area.

Well this was certainly a bit of an experience overall to say the least. She was pretty happy to see that they had a bit of a group of people going over to the sword fighting area, though she was a little saddened that someone else instantly jumped into the ring and challenging someone to fighting. Of course, she personally wanted to be a bit of a show off with regards to it. This was kind of the thing she'd been doing for a decent part of her life at this point, so she very much wanted to jump in immediately.

"Do you have any training with swords? Because if you don't just be careful and hope you don't make a fool of yourself, because it takes a while to be skilled with a sword. Then again even if you are the best at something, doesn't mean you don't benefit from learning more, someone is never truly the best at anything, since learning is all part of it, and if you can't learn anymore that's when things get incredibly boring. What's the fun in not learning anything? Aaaaaanyway good luck with the fight and all," she said towards Madalyne, before she went over to look at the foam swords that they had there instead. "Fake swords are cool, not as fun as the real thing though." she added, though she was sort of twirling around her flashlight (Glowstick in disguise of course) and looked over to wait and see the fight that would occur.

Shieldmaiden
Victoria van Dyne

As the trio approached the swordfighting stand, Victoria fought and lost to the urge to roll her eyes. These guys escaped from Dungeons and dragons, I swear. She had to admit, she was finding body language a rather nice tool for expressing just how obnoxious she found this acting. "Someone let these guys attend the Shadiversity a few years too early. Tryhadries will never be as cool as Thor, regardless how temporarily displaced they try to make their speech." she frowned.

Apparently though, that didn't stop Madalyne from taking the bait, hook, line and sinker, as she volunteered to go against one of the knights brooding in the corner. Which suits me just fine, thank you. One I wanted to have a one to one with roommate. Two, she thought, stealing a split second glance towards Madalyne, I could get lost in those eyes and that is just unfair.

She joined Zarina at the weapons rack, looking for a pair of blades in particular. Time to start fishing for information. "Well, I mean, that's supposed to be part of the fun, right?" she raised an eyebrow at the experience comment, "I am definitely going to embarrass myself, as let's face it, without my armor, I'm only human." she said with subtle emphasis. Then again, given the interaction so far, she was not entirely sure subtle will be enough to provoke a reaction that would betray if Zarina knew. "Although it may be cool to make a blade mod to the armor. Not sure if practical, but cool definitely." she mused out loud, index finger tapping on her chin. Pulling the two gauntlet swords out of the rack, she gave the greenhead a challenging look. "So... care to show me how a pro fights with these?"

@Ogobrogo: Teddy was clearly LIVING, high on life. As he took his sweaty, stinky self back to his dorm room to wash up, he'd run into a pair of siblings in the lobby. Diana Novikova and Percy Novikov, the Novikoffs if you were nasty. (See Percy's post for more update goodness~)

@Blizz: Maybe it was a trick of the light. Or maybe it was something more. Her hand seemed to darken somewhat, taking on an earthy tone and texture. The transformation would look like it had begun to slowly spread up her arm. The moment Leah released the hammer though, her hand would change back to normal - just ordinary skin, nothing earthy about it.

"Hurry up, I wanna try!" a snot-faced freshmen complained, having been waiting 'patiently' for all of ten seconds behind Leah to try out the hammer. No one had managed to lift the hammer all day, although one or two students claimed that it had started to budge, and they had stopped out of respect for Thor.

@Natsu: Once complete, feel free to post our collab :)

@BlueSky44: As Zelda makes her way back to the dorm, she will also have to go through the ground floor of Stark Hall. This places her exactly where two people who would be somewhat familiar to her are - Diana Novikova and Percy Novikov, again, the Novikoffs if you're nasty lol. (See Percy's post for more update goodness~)

@Ever Faithful: For Ardere, the person in front of her was still inside the Fortune Telling tent with Prof. Harkness. They should be out soon though, so hopefully she won't have to wait much longer. If she decides to do some people watching, she'll notice a group of girls heading over to get their faces painted - Kate Bishop, America Chavez, and Cassie Lang. By the reactions of other people looking at them, it'd be safe to say that those were THE popular girls at school, the ones who really ruled this place.

@BlueSky44@Forsythe@Nallore@Kirah:

The King looked both annoyed and relieved that Mads had agreed to go up against Ser Megan. "Passive powers are permitted in all matches, as inhibitors are unethical," the King explained. "Beyond that, it's up to the duelists if ye would like to have all of your talents at play! The duel is to the death or yield. Preferably the latter, Megan."

Ser Megan might've scowled, might've smirked, or even just made no face at all as she looked Mads up and down. "I want you at your best," Ser Megan said. "If that's with your witchbreed gifts, then that's fine with me." She had her foam sword at the ready and she shifted into a fighting stance. She was already in the center of one of the little rings - ready to fight, whenever Mads was.

Andy would manage to make her way over to the Academy Knights booth and rejoin her friends. Along the way, Selene had mostly behaved, although she kept pointing out different students to Andy and whispering virgin. By the time they had reached the Academy Knights though, the Selene doll was still and just appeared to be an ordinary doll, definitely not possessed by the trapped spirit of an immortal mutant sorceress, who claimed to be the common ancestor for modern mutants.

There was another little ring space as well, so Vicky and Zari would be able to have their practice fight at the same time as Mads faced off against Ser Megan. But hey, maybe Andy would want to fight too, could have a 1x1x1 battle maybe?

@Trainerblue192: For better or for worse, Dorian had just missed Percy - Percy was already back down on the first floor by the time Dorian had gone to his room and read the horrifying note on the door. No one else seemed to be around at the moment really. His dorm mom / supervisor, Firestar, must've been out at the carnival with the other faculty - where pretty much everyone in the school was hanging out at the moment, celebrating a few more fleeting moments of freedom before classes would start up again. Hopefully the rest of Dorian's day goes better than it has so far! And hopefully Nemo won't be too upset about the teacup...

Percy Novikov

Location: Stark Hall - First Floor
Skills: N/A
~New Outfit~

Percy wasn't particularly interested in any of those activities - there was a reason he had spent the morning of the carnival reading in the sunshine, rather than going around and getting his face painted something ridiculous like a fairy princess or a tiger. He could guess that Diana would want to go to archery, but she had specified that he got to pick. He was intrigued somewhat by the option of dressing up for photos or playing chess. But if he were being honest... he was the most interested in fortune telling.

Some people might've been surprised, but he did believe in that sort of thing - mostly because one of his moms' coworkers was the Scarlet Witch. Magic and the supernatural weren't unproven, they were facts, real and concrete. Maybe Agatha Harkness could tell him what he had to do in order to avoid those assholes from earlier for the rest of his life. Or maybe she'd do him the kindness of lifting whatever sort of curse they had no doubt placed on him, as that many repeated traumas and assaults didn't just happen by accident.

"I want to do fortune telling," Percy settled on. "I want to ask Agatha for a detailed plan on how to never see those pieces of shit again. And then, I want her to tell me about your love life, so I can practice my disapproving glare at the lucky guy or gal early. It needs to be withering."

He secretly was somewhat interested in his own love life as well - not that he would fess up to that. He had a certain image to maintain, standards to adhere to. If Agatha told him he was going to end up with some common fool, he wanted to know now, so he could make drastic changes to avoid that fate.

Percy then turned his head, seeing someone enter the ground floor of Stark Hall. He had not really met his roommate, but it was hard not to recognize him on sight. Percy gave him a curt nod. "Nice to see you, Teddy." He had given Teddy the once over and saw that people's descriptions of Teddy as a young bear were not really exaggerated too much at all. Percy was fairly certain Teddy could knock him over just with a sneeze.

And then, not too long after, a vaguely familiar face came on through. He didn't know her super well, but well enough to recognize her - Zelda Flynn. "Is... is that a bear dressed up as She-Hulk? I didn't know bears were so popular here," Percy said dryly, his eyes flickering over to Teddy as he said bear.

April Flynn

Location: the Field (School Carnival) - Dunk Tanks
Skills: N/A
~First Day Fit~

"No, I wish I had - today's been like hella stressful so far, could've used something," April lamented. Her stuff was hidden in her dorm room at the moment, and April knew that Dorian was likely back there calming down, so she didn't want to go back there and intrude on him, not when he wasn't feeling well.

Something dark twisted in April's stomach though as she saw Sabine link arms with Danny. She didn't dare put a name to the emotion, though. When it came to unpleasant emotions, April tried to live by the advice of a Disney classic - conceal, don't feel. It worked for the most part. And the school hadn't ever pulled her to the side to talk about why the pipes in Stark Hall seemed to freeze over at least once a month, despite their location in sunny southern California. Nope, there was nothing here for her to examine, everything was (going to be) fine! She plastered an extra big smile on her face, even though it made her cheeks hurt. Today was (going to be) a fantastic day.

"No way!" April gasped, at Danny's revelations about Professor Harkness and Headmaster Coulson. At an ordinary school, a rumor like that would've been dismissed immediately. But here at AA, crazy things were normal - the headmaster secretly being a clone of a crazed eugenicist was hardly the most outrageous thing April had heard about the staff here. For instance, she knew that one of the teachers was a cat created by some dude called the High Evolutionary, and went around getting into trouble, Puss in Boots style (another classic movie). "What if EVERYONE on staff is Sinister? My parents don't get involved in X-Men style shit often, my mom says she went to that mansion once and it was a gigaaaantic mistake, but like... He's no joke. I think he's on like ten million different SHIELD watch lists. Like, I think he was a Nazi or something and got paperclipped or whatever it was that they did to evil science peeps? Also, you and Kate would be SUCH a cute couple, Mai, you should def go for it even if they didn't split, wreck that home!"

When a portal opened with a whoosh, and a jacket was ejected, April wasn't as cut off guard as she had been the first few times this had happened near her. If she remembered correctly, she had actually screamed like a Final Girl the first time it had happened. Instead, she waved eagerly with her candy apple at the rapidly closing portal, despite not even catching a glimpse of who was on the other side. "Hi Mr. Gray!" April called out cheerfully, doing her best still to be the person everyone wanted her to be - the upbeat, fun, bright, ever positive girl next door.

The group then arrived at the dunk tanks, where Headmaster Phil Coulson, struggling to hold onto his remaining three or four hairs, was at their mercy. His suit was sopping wet, so they definitely wouldn't be the first students to dunk him that day. And they probably wouldn't be the last. There was a bucket of balls, and the person running the booth explained that everyone got three tries, and there were no repeat visits allowed, so they'd need to make every ball count.

"So, who wants to throw some balls first?" the attendant asked, looking at the group.

Dorian Gray

Location: 6th Floor > Stark Hall > Agatha's
Skills: First Day Fit

Panic set in as Dorian's mind scrambled for what to do next. There were at least 5 things he felt needed to be done, and each felt important enough to do first; which of course meant not a single one got done at the moment. He froze, staring at the note with the image of the shattered cup in his mind. Finally he began to react, grabbing his phone out of his pocket and taking a picture of the note posted on his door. Never knew if some fucker would try to tamper with it somehow. He snatched the note, folding it and placing it into his pocket before barreling into his own dorm room. He made a large sweeping motion with the side of one foot, gathering all the bits of porcelain into a pile to the side of the door where even Danni wouldn't be able to accidentally step on it. At a loss for words and thoughts, Dorian simply went over to his gaming desk and dropped off the package. Hands placed to either side of it as he stared blankly at the wall for a moment.

Inhale

Exhale

Inhale

Exhale

Dorian took deep slow breaths, trying hard to calm his frazzled nerves. His eyes searched wildly for an answer in the air before him. As if the textured walls of Stark Hall dorms would somehow shift and change to show him an abstract answer in the form of a rorschach test. To his dismay they did no such thing, but he caught a glimpse of something he'd taken earlier, a poster meant to drum up hype for today's Carnival. He enjoyed keepsakes like these, and he was certain the school wouldn't miss one poster. His eyes were drawn towards the bottom center of the images, in the style of old Circus Posters, there was an illustrated image of Agatha Harkness, hands spread as tarot cards arced downwards. If anyone could help him find answers, Agatha could, and today was her last day at Avengers Academy. Sir Nemo had mentioned she was here till sundown, but that felt too far off to get answers, he needed them now.

Dorian bolted out the door, slamming it behind him as he made a mad dash towards the elevator. Impatiently pressing the button repeatedly as he waited for the elevator to come back up. He thought about phasing down for a moment, but given how this morning had gone so far…it was probably best he didn't. Finally reprieve came as he heard the familiar ding as the doors opened up before him and he begged it to go down. The ride was quick, but to him it was an eternity. He'd forgotten all about texting his friends to let them know where he was heading, he had a mission and that was all that was in his mind. As soon as the elevator doors opened, Dorian ran forward, not seeing where he was going and somehow missing the hulk of a man that was before him.

There was a hard thud as Dorian ran into Teddy, then another as he fell flat on his ass. Immediately he scanned his surroundings to see what had happened, quickly noting Teddy before seeing Percy, Diana, and a girl he'd never met before. He quickly got up, rubbing his sore bum as he began to apologize profusely. "Apologies mon ami! I didn't see you there, I don't know where my 'ead is at today…" He couldn't help but see through Teddy, seeing the boy he'd accidentally possessed just mere moments ago. Oh how fate was cruel to him today. A part of him wondered if he was the one responsible for the note, but then again he was a freshman so it wouldn't have explained the ones before today.

Dorian cleared his throat, embarrassed and anxious to leave this situation. "Sorry, uh , again, I 'ave to go. Auriez-vous" he said in a hurried tone, making his way past Teddy and Diana alongside her brother. He tried not to make eye contact, keeping his gaze down, worried he'd run into another person this way. Once he was clear of those two he could look back up again. Five feet cleared, and Dorian looked up once more as he ran towards Agatha's tent, his breathing sharp and erratic until he'd finally reached his target location. There was a red-headed student waiting outside as she ate something. Dorian froze feet away, anxiously dancing in place as he cursed his luck. "Fuck. Are you waiting for Agatha too? Or just waiting for someone inside?"
