@Expendable You seem to be knowledgeable about this, so I say we'll go with your idea!

@duskshine749Hey, just so you're aware, my character has a lot of experience with monsters, orcs, and the like. Very little of it good. So I was planning on having him be a bit wary of Druuk at first. Not full-blown racism, but wariness. You good with that?

@Bacon oh ya, I made a half orc fully expecting some fantasy racism. Also our characters kinda mirror each other in some weird ways (totally unintentional on my part) so I'm expecting some fun dynamics there.

Also for what Druuk would be doing on the trip, he'd be civil, but being stuck on a boat for several weeks would have him go a bit stir crazy and he'd be looking for any excuse to fight someone.

@duskshine749-The best way to get him to fight someone is if my character insults him in a small way I think. Because my char is kinda the uh A word. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to cuss.

Not sure that your characters fighting each other is a great idea since you're supposed to be going to adventure together in the Vale :P

Relationship table

Caleb: She's likely to notice his reaction to flame, no stranger to fear herself. While he's wearing the armor, she's likely to forget there's a man under there. Should she see him with a book, she might approach. Alda had a small library aboard the Bloody Sword, and she quickly went through it, so anything new would be welcome.

Druuk: Not the first half-orc she has run into, and she'll recognize the shackle galls, having been a prisoner herself. She may feel a kinship with him over that, one of the few she'd be willing to approach.

Lucky: Kraseawei has sharp eyes, she'll realize he's a thief and expect Lucky to know she's one, too. She might leave one of the secret marks Blind Cyd taught her to make contact with him. She has lock picks but no thieves tools - no need for subtle methods when you're with a pirate. So she may ask for refresher training - for a fee, of course. It doesn't mean she'll not be wary around him.

Harth-Kazann: Kraseawei will respect a priest, bowing her head and holding up her hands in prayer when she runs into him, the sisters of Photia will have told her what to look for, and Blind Cyd would be the first to tell her to behave well with the clergy - but not to confess every sin.

Colt Livingston: if he's a well-known bounty hunter, or gets introduced as such, I can see Kraseawei being wary of him. She's not exactly dressed as other women are, even sailors - he may get a whiff of piracy at the sight of that lone earring alone - it's not merely decoration, but future payment for her burial. Depends on how much he knows about pirates.

Barktawa Reef prison put a burglar brand on her, a letter "b" on her inner right wrist, then the Golden Griffin's crest on her upper left chest to mark her as ship's property. Both hidden by clothes, but he might catch glimpses. There's no bounty on her currently, but only because Lepraerin believes she went down with the ship.

If you want, sure! It's a nice way to establish intent and expectations, and it gives people something to work with!

Caleb: not sure what to think of him but is a tiny bit wary of him because he looks like a dangerous person but colt overall thinks he’s a nice guy so he’s alright in his book

Druuk: is extremely cautious of him and a bit racist against him and thinks of him as a danger to everyone. Overall doesn’t like him.

Lucky: thinks of him as a petty thief. Colt doesn’t care that he’s a dwarf. If he has a bounty on him colt will most likely bring him in if he doesn’t develop a good friendship with him.

Harth-Kazann: Colt mostly likes all types of priests . is respectful of Harth-Kazann but doesn’t know if he’s a friend or foe. Overall Sort of likes him

Kraseawei: he knows she’s a pirate because he knows about every type of enemy’s and things like that. Is a little bit wary of her but doesn’t know if she’s got a bounty on her head and will probably take her in if she does but it’s a small possibility that he won’t if he develops a closer friendship.doesn’t know if she escaped prison or got released because he knows what the scars mean.Overall not sure what to think of her.

Don't all good stories start with the characters hating each other a little bit? Regardless, early in the trip is when most minor slights like rude comments would be made and that would be Druuk at his most level headed. He understands he has to share a space with these people for a few weeks. Towards the end of the trip though maybe he just fights some nobody NPC after they bump into each other.

As for relationships, Druuk wouldn't really approach anyone on the ship. Don't worry, that doesn't mean it'll be difficult getting him into whatever the main thrust of the RP will be. I assume there will be some job posting and we all take it for our own reasons and work together that way.

The other easy in is if Kraseawei @Expendable approaches him and they become friendly. Druuk would recognize she's not exactly a fighter but her strength lies in finesse, something he is sorely lacking. From there he would stick with her and whoever she may choose to ally with.

Druuk: Caleb's very wary of the half-orc, given his past experiences. However seeing as he hasn't tried to kill anyone in front of Caleb yet, he's willing to give this half-orc the benefit of the doubt for now, even if he isn't sure if the half-orc is entirely trustworthy just yet. He at least seems martially capable at a glance, which Caleb can respect.

Lucky: He would offer the halfling the same respect he would anyone, but he wouldn't approve if he learned of his sticky fingers. However, he would probably find the halfling's general demeanor welcoming, if a bit loud for his tastes, and could be swayed if he learns or figures out that the halfling means well.

Harth-Kazann: Being aware of the stereotypes between dwarves and elves, he isn't likely to mention his elvish heritage around the dwarf unless prompted to. Otherwise, he recognizes that the dwarf, as a clergyman, believes in and fights for something greater than himself, and respects that. He would probably try to ask about the story behind the pelt at some point, in the interest of finding conversation.

Kraseawei: Given his upbringing, he wouldn't really be able to pick her out as anything more than a sailor who dresses a little strangely. So long as she doesn't try to steal anything around him, he'll try to be amicable. He's always interested in talking to a fellow bookworm, especially if she can keep up with him once he gets going about some of his favorite authors.

Colt: He would most likely find a kindred spirit in the man, given his sense of justice and distain for monsters. If he learns more about Colt, the similarity of their situations wouldn't be lost on him, which might get him to open up about things he otherwise wouldn't.

In a nutshell: He trusts some people more than others at a glance, and will try his best to be amicable and not step on toes. Otherwise, if you stay out of his way, he'll try to stay out of yours.

While aboard the ship, I imagine he'd be mostly helping the quartermaster, as he has experience with organization and logistics from his upbringing, in addition to the fifty-five pounds of steel he seemingly always wears not lending itself towards climbing around the rigging.

Soo, lots going on.

Lucky is probably slinging it with the crew, (Doesn't mean he won't join the others) but the lower station are his people, crude mannered, boisterous and eager to gamble.

What he thinks of the others will entirely depend on their first interactions unless we build in a backstory.

Hey @Red Wizard, do have any plans for bad weather?
Would be fun if Lucky was trying to help the sailors with a spell for clear sky's or some directional winds but it went bad.

@Chronic I won't be playing a PC. I'll DM in the traditional sense.

@Dark Light That could have happened during the voyage. However, the story will begin as you disembark in Kari-Mar.
