Hidden deep within the dense forests of Massachusetts, Goddess Hollow is a town that seems to exist outside the constraints of time and space. Beneath its eternal night sky, where a crimson moon reigns and stars streak endlessly across the heavens, the town’s secrets hum with ancient, unfathomable power. To most, it is just a myth—a whispered story of a place forgotten by the modern world. But to the descendants of the last two goddesses to walk the Earth, it is both sanctuary and battleground.
Centuries ago, when the rest of their kind chose to ascend, two goddesses remained behind. They were the last of the Ancients, their presence a tether between the mortal realm and divinity. From their union, a bloodline was born—humans touched by divine intervention, carrying fragments of power within their veins that granted them the blessing, or curse, of immortality. The goddesses protected their descendants fiercely, and as their final act, they created Goddess Hollow—a haven cloaked in secrecy and imbued with enchantments to protect their lineage.
But even the strongest enchantments cannot last forever.
Now, dark forces, long dormant, have begun to awaken. Creatures of the Otherworld, hunters of the divine, and shadowy organizations hungry for power are closing in, drawn by the promise of what the goddesses’ descendants carry within them, eternal life. The once-quiet sanctuary has become a place of dread, its ancient protections faltering, its people terrified. In desperation, the Hollow has sent out its call—a summoning that transcends borders and languages. It seeks those who are not just ordinary mortals, but individuals imbued with magic, no matter how latent or strange.
You are one of them.
One moment, you were living your life—perhaps ordinary, perhaps extraordinary—and the next, you were here. No explanation, no warning, only the mansion that looms over Goddess Hollow and the cryptic townsfolk who call it home. The Mansion is your new dwelling, a labyrinth of creaking halls and hidden rooms, a place that seems alive in its own way. It is here that you meet others like you: young people, all strangers, plucked from their lives and thrust into the unknown. You are told the truth of the Hollow—its history, its peril, and your role in it.
You are not here by accident.
Your magic, whether you’ve mastered it or not, has been called to serve a greater purpose. You must protect the descendants of the goddesses, whose bloodlines are the key to balancing the fragile veil between worlds. But even as you try to come to terms with your newfound responsibility, you sense there is more to the Hollow than the townsfolk reveal. Why were you chosen? Why now? And what secrets lie hidden beneath the eternal red moon?
The answers won’t come easily. Trust is scarce in a place so steeped in mystery, and alliances may be fleeting. The Mansion itself seems to shift and change, its secrets waiting to be discovered—but at what cost? Beyond its walls, the forest looms, dark and forbidding, its whispers beckoning the brave and the foolish alike. The red moon above is a constant reminder of the danger you face, its light both a warning and a promise of the struggles to come. The forces arrayed against you are relentless, and time is running out. Will you stand as a guardian of the divine bloodline, shouldering the mantle of protector? Or will you carve your own path, seeking the truth behind your summoning, even if it leads you to betray those who brought you here? In Goddess Hollow, the choice is yours—but beware. The choices you make may echo far beyond the eternal night, shaping the fate of the town, the bloodline, and perhaps the world itself.
Goddess Hollow is a city that feels like it’s been pulled straight from a dream—or maybe the nightmarish backdrop of some haunting penny dreadful, depending on how you look at it. The buildings are all Victorian-style, with intricate ironwork, towering spires, and windows that glint in the ever-present glow of the red moon. Cars don’t exist here; instead, gondolas drift silently through canals that weave their way between neighborhoods. Scattered throughout the city are magical portals—swirling, glowing doorways at the edges of courtyards and tucked into alleyways, letting people move effortlessly from one district to another in the blink of an eye.
At the heart of each district is its own townsquare, usually anchored by a statue or fountain of the Goddesses, their figures entwined in an eternal embrace. The city hums with life, but there’s always an air of mystery hanging over it. Either way, Goddess Hollow has a way of making you feel like you’ve stepped into another world—one you’re not quite sure you’ll ever leave.
