Leah started booking it, walking with all the determination Danni knew she had. “Maybe if t'is super'ero stuff doesn't work out, I can be a motivational speaker.” Danni mused, skipping along with Leah. He got Leah over her fear of making plans, maybe he could get others over their fears! He really should write that down but if superheroics didn't work out, Danni would probably eat himself into a coma and die of dehydration from crying.
However, his grim future was interrupted by Princess and he frowned at the thought of Diana of all people alone in their dorms. Like, they didn't really get along so was she trying to prank them? All he did was offer to light her arrows up, but he didn't actually do it when she said not to (which he should get a gold star for impulse control, thank you very much!) So he didn't know what she was getting revenge for.
Still, not like they really had anything to hide but they'd have to make sure everything was as it should be. Dee once threatened to swap all his hair product with generic 5 in 1 garbage after he'd deleted one of Dee's save files by accident and Danni had checked everything obsessively for weeks. Danni didn't think Diana would, but who knew what nefarious things someone sneaking into another person's Dorm would do. What is she changed out his hair dye?
He was halfway through a response, tongue stuck out as he focused on typing and walking behind Leah, when several things happened very quickly. Firstly, his phone buzzed. Secondly, he bit his tongue and tossed his phone in surprise. Finally, he felt fire boiling under his skin and in the brief moment where he was scrambling for his phone, cursing the sudden taste of copper, and reeling over Dee’s text, he slipped up and fire erupted from him in the dorm hallway.
“Merde! Danni swore, jumping approximately fifteen feet in the air as the floor and the wall next to him was suddenly burning. He stared down the hall where Dee stood with Percy's arm wrapped around his waist and honestly, Danni felt…
Betrayed.
For the second time in as many weeks, Danni felt his life burning to the ground. Yes, some of it was certainly the fact that Danni had set the dorms on fire and was currently standing next to it, but mostly it was because once again, Danni'd lost something. Dee and Danni had been two halves on the same coin, attached at the hip, sharing everything together. They shared parents (Maxie and Benji were basically his parents too), friends, clothes, games, food. Literally their entire life. And now there was something Danni couldn't share, didn't want to share, and he felt replaced. Dee found someone who could do more with him, do something Danni wouldn't, and Danni felt like he’d be seeing Percy next to Dee more often and he’d be left alone.
He reached out to grab the flames, but he froze. The hunger in the fire, the glass case pressing in, Arcade’s laughter creeping up on him, and he couldn’t bring himself to do anything. What would happen if it got worse? What happened if he did burn everything down again, just like home?
“Help.” Danni whimpered, trembling where he was frozen in fear.

Sabine shifted from side to side on her bed, making an albeit low attempt at comfort, when she got a weird sense. It wasn't some ESP or mind blip but one of her other senses noticing something. She sat up in bed and looked around, not noticing much else. Then she sniffed the air. It smelled like...burning.
Burning. Fire....
Danni!
Sabine shot up out of bed and ran into the hallway, keeping an eye out for any semblance of fire. She made her way towards Danni's room. There she saw a few people in the hallway. April, Leah, Maddie, Dorian, Diana, Percy, and Danni, who was nearly curled up in a ball. Sabine noticed the smoke smell got bigger here. The door nearby Danni appeared to be smoking. Sabine glanced around and spotted a fire extinguisher at the end of the hall. Booking it over there she grabbed it and mentally cursed herself for never going through basic fire prevention training.
She ran back, pointing the...what was it, a nozzle?....at the spreading fire and tried to use the extinguisher, but it only protested her. She tried again to no avail. "Shit!" She dropped the fire extinguisher and looked around again. Her eyes settled on April. Sabine hated to do it, but she had no choice.
Sabine attempted to go into April's mind, to boost her abilities so she could put the fire out, but something weird happened. It was as it April's mind was...blocking her attempts. Sabine had never experienced that before. Whatever was going on in April's mind...it was bad. Her psyche was residing any and all attempts. Sabine cursed again. "We need to go, now!" she screamed.
Sabine ran over to Danni, putting her arm under his to lift him up to his feet. "We need to get out of here Danni, please don't fight me on this. Someone call the police but unless someone can take care of that immediately, we need to get out of the building!"

Victoria's eyes scanned over the magical font on her letter, before she folded the note and pocketed it instead of sending. Talking in person would actually be better. Who knew, perhaps Victoria could convince Leah to let Agatha have a look at the CT scans of her they did way back when. If someone could recognize that magic without them having to suck up to that green-haired pestilence... Later. There will be plenty of time to think later. First things first... She looked at the vehicle that was supposed to pick her up. Place couldn't have been far since the car got here so quick after Coulson made the call, so if her sister really wanted to meet, she could take a walk her way.
To: Cas Subject: Gettogether
Hey, so... I can't make it today, sorry :( Coulson made some resources available to me that would be quite irresponsible for me not to use, but it needs to happen like, NOW. I'm thinking they allow visitors? If you don't hear from me for a week, I'm probably incarcerated against my will ;P
<Picture of the C.A.G.E. car attached>

"I'm going, I'm going..." she grunted. She had no illusion about even her soldering iron being let through to a facility like that, and being honest with herself, picking up some of her clothes or other things would be an unnecessary sentiment. Just short of getting in the car, she stopped and looked back at the headmaster. "You know, I would love to live in your head for a day. You let my sister and others out into life threatening situations without a beep. But I try to take one for all of humanity, and... this." She nodded to the car. "From where I'm sitting, I'm the sanest person here." On that, she boarded her ride, thinking about the events that led her to be here.
Nearly dying to spatial magic bullshittery. Being forced to deny her own self by the VEIL protocol. Being on a team mentored by a puppet of a hidden villain. Having to take out an already beaten freshie in the qualifiers. Ultron being nearly unleashed on Halloween. Sitting in the backseat while she was made to attack people she perhaps did not consider friends, but cared for in her own way. Yeah... After all that, if I thought I didn't have issues, that would have been the real problem.
She decided to watch the scenery go by for the rest of the ride, a smile creeping on her face. Helping Leah find out more about herself. Zapping Dorian through the doorknob. Danni breaking down in tears, thinking she killed the guy. Watching Barbenheimer with Leah and Diana. Well, okay. Not all of it was bad.
Zelda didn't exactly like the fact that for the most part no one seemingly cared that she had been around or noticed that she had even been in the room. Not to mention the fact that they were basically talking about mostly their team. And she was the one who ended up getting kicked to the sidelines in the perfect match up like she wasn't even there. Might as well not even be there or going to that meeting anyway if that was how the situation was going to play out.
Plus there had been the influx of emotions that everyone else was having, so many people were angry and going off on various things, and those weren't really the only issues that were going on. She really just wondered what everyone else's' thoughts were on that whole team thing. Aside from Victoria not participating in it at all. She had to guess there was going to be a bunch of arguments and all over that, totally was going to be fun.

"I mean I can get that. Honestly too forever to get the watch to work. The reality hopping part of it was the incredibly easy portion. Since my mom not long after I was born had worked on making communications between realities possible. Which then helped lead to the reality jumping tech becoming more easily available to us. Time travel though was tricky, and took a lot of trial and error to get right," she commented with a bit of a shrug as she started following Andy as she was explaining all about the stuff that she had missed when she hadn't gotten to the meeting on time sort of thing.
"As for the framework stuff, I still don't even really know what happened to you guys there. I got drugged and poisoned sort of thing so I didn't get to see it or what happened," Zari added as they walked into Andy's room. Hearing Andy's question though about what she could or couldn't say to the therapist or whatever. "I mean, you can talk about whatever you want. I don't overly care. Remember when I straight up told people I was a half-Asgardian from the future and no one believed me? I typically say tell the truth and be honest. Also though I can't lie to save my life, since you know, my dad always can tell if I'm lying."

Diana felt her phone going off it was the group text for the Uncanny Avenger's team, she was surprised that Victoria decided to dropout of the contest. 'Sad to see you dropout but hope you are there to watch us though.' Diana texted. Then another text from Victoria texting her for a solo training session, and offering to help out with her powers, she didn't want something like teleporting in on her brother doing the deed with Dorian again.
'Sure i'd like that sometime, accidentally teleported in on my brother banging his boyfriend.' Diana text personally to Vicky, she turned to April nodded slightly towards her. "No problem." Diana said as she stepped away from Dorian's door and closed the door behind her, her attention turned to her brother's dorm room seeing the two of them poking their heads out, and her brother speaking to her in Russian. "Ну, иногда мои силы дают сбой, как и твои, дорогой брат. Я не собирался телепортироваться в комнату Дориана, пока Дориан нападал на тебя как Слимер. И собирался рассказать тебе, о чем была встреча, но ты, очевидно, был занят тем, что раздражался и раздражался со Слимером. О, и Коулсон хочет, чтобы вы с Дорианом начали терапию." Diana quickly said back to her brother in an annoyed tone, it wasn't like she actually did it on purpose either.
Then Leah came in and she gave her a slight wave. "Hi Leah." Diana said it seemed that she wanted to talk to Madalyne about her fancy runes, then suddenly the hallway started to catch fire. Her eyes going wide as she saw Danni accidentally setting the hallway on fire Sabine went to grab a fire extinguisher and tried to put it out. Diana made a beeline towards the nearest fire alarm and pulled it, as the loud blaring alarm started to go off the fire suppression system started to kick in as the sprinkler system started as well to.
Russian to English Well sometimes my powers malfunction just like yours, dear brother. I didn't mean to teleport into Dorian's room while Dorian was going all Slimer on you. "I'm doing alright, glad that we don't have to worry about going to any classes for the rest of the semester though." Madalyne said with a smile as she thought about the looming therapy session. She wasn't really a fan of it but Coulson wanted them to do it then she'll have to, her attention turned towards where Percy's dorm was and opened up. Percy spoke in Russian to his sister Diana which she didn't understand really and then Dorian walking up to them.
"Hi Dorian and Percy you two missed the meeting you know." Madalyne said to them, then Leah came over, her wings and tail drooped slightly when Leah called her a Witch Demon Person that kind of hurt and she was still trying to adjust to her changes still. But she turned around to see the runes that Leah had in her hand and showed her and smiled. "Thats really good, do you need any help learning how to use them some more?" Madalyne asked, suddenly the hallway started to catch fire and Dorian accidentally started to cause a fire in the dorm hallway. Sabine came with a fire extinguisher and tried to put out the fire. Then suddenly the alarms started to go off as she watched Diana going over to the fire alarm nearby pulling it and the sprinkler system started.
8:50 AM - Mon. November 29th, 2038 - Margaret Carter Institute
These tricks/treats go into effect when your character returns from Thanksgiving break
Leah - Treat - While everyone else had a parent or guardian that could be contacted, there was no one there to speak for Leah - something that the school, shockingly enough, hadn't even realized. In order to both tie up the legal loose end and ensure the safety of a young child, She-Hulk stepped up and filed the documentation necessary, with Leah's okay, to become her legal guardian. Leah has now been given access to She-Hulk's Los Angeles apartment, where a room has been set up for her, as well as a card giving her access to the West Coast Avengers' mansion. Jen has also gotten a trust fund set up for Leah, where she will now be making regular deposits - being an Avenger doesn't pay well, but being a lawyer as well certainly doesn't hurt.
Mary Sue - Trick - Mary Sue headed back to Cardiff over break, most likely hoping for something relaxing and uneventful. Instead, her grandfather sent his heralds to retrieve her father. The resulting fight was intense and bloody, Oliver ended up in the hospital in critical condition, and a scar across Mary Sue's left eye that rendered her partially blind. Her mother lost an arm, which will soon be replaced with a prosthetic. At least they won the battle. But Thanos is still out there, lurking.
Andy - Trick - Over Thanksgiving break, Andy will have had a hard time sleeping, bouts of insomnia that no medicine or magic seems to be able to dispel. The day before she is due to return to the Margaret Carter Institute, she'll finally get some much needed rest. However, when she wakes up, she finds herself in an abandoned building, a desiccated corpse at her feet, and wounds on her arms - as if someone had tried to fight her off.
Mads - Treat - Over the break, Mads went through a bit of a growth spurt! Her more demonic features came in and settled. She now has fanged teeth, a forked tongue, horns, a tail, and wings like those of a bat. With these wings, she now has the innate ability of flight. Her teeth are able to destroy most materials, save things like vibranium. Her tail is prehensile, so can be used to grab other objects and manipulate them. And her more monstrous form will give her advantage on intimidation checks.
Sabine - Treat - During the break, Sabine was plagued with strange, almost lucid dreams. In these dreams, she watched her mother as a young woman, striding confidently down the halls of a castle on the moon, a sword strapped to her side. She stood a few paces behind a tall man, with dark hair and a dramatic cloak, a crown on his head that indicated his station. Her mother seemed to be his bodyguard, following him wherever he went - from the scene of courtroom dramas to ghastly murders. No matter what Sabine did, no one noticed her in the dream.
Until the last night, right before students were due to return to the Academy, when her mother would look directly at Sabine, and say: "You are not your father's child, Sabine. You're his."
Zari - Trick - Zari and Andy have a great break, catching up with her parents in the alternate universe of Earth-667. Aside from Andy's issues, no trouble rears its head - until they get back to Earth-666, and Zari sees her time traveling device short out, reading a bunch of error messages that more or less amount to one thing... Earth-666, the universe our RP takes place in, is now cordoned off from the rest of the multiverse. No one can leave. No one can enter.
Zelda - Trick - Even before the business with Arcade, Zelda has often felt herself to be invisible, blending in with the surroundings and never truly being noticed. Perhaps that is more true now than ever before, as over the break, she fell ill with a horrible fever. The fever nearly required hospitalization, and when it broke, her body seemed to be fading out of existence. Within a matter of hours, she had become completely invisible - and so far, she hasn't figured out a way to control this power and reappear.
Dorian - Treat - For a living boy, Dorian shares a great deal in common with the dead - a fact that may endear him more to his Uncle Casper, or even his formerly dead father, Ben. Over the break, Dorian will discover another thing he has in common with ghosts - the ability to manipulate electromagnetism. He gains the ability to perform applications at the basic level per powerlisting.fandom.com/wiki/Electrom…
Danni - During the break, Danni ended up wearing himself out one day, so incredibly tired as he went to sleep. So tired, in fact, that the scent of smoke didn't wake him. In the midst of a nightmare, his powers activated... and burned his house to the ground. No one was injured, thankfully, the adults had been out seeing a show - and while Max would be able to fix the house pretty quickly with magic, the memories don't fade, and the smell lingers.
@Forsythe: Vicky would see that Cass saw the text, followed by an immediate frantic flurry of replies - Omg??? Are you okay???? What's going on???? VICKY CALL ME VICKY CALL ME NOW
And scarcely a moment later, Vicky would receive a call from Cass herself - should Vicky decline the call, Cass will immediately call back and try again. For the moment, she hasn't had her phone confiscated from her. And as Vicky is perhaps pondering what to do with her sister, as she gets into the CAGE van and it pulls away from the school, she'll see the flashing lights of the fire alarm going off at Stark Hall and hear the blaring sirens, as students begin to evacuate the building and head to the designated evac point.
@Natsu@BlueSky44@Kirah: Zari, Andy, Zelda, and Mary Sue were all doing different things and in different headspaces, but one thing is in common for them: they hear the fire alarms go off in the building, an irritating pulsing alarm with bright flashing lights. Students flood into the hallways, some of them still in PJs and evidently having skipped class for the day, with teachers and staff members urging for people to assemble on the field outside - the same field where many of our AA students met for the first time at the beginning of the year. But this is clearly not a drill - as the scent of smoke begins to pervade throughout the building.
April Flynn & Percy Novikov

April's phone buzzed twice - first with a text from Leah, and as she began to read it, a preview of the text message from Dorian came in. She screeched, almost dropping her phone in surprise, before frantically swiping over to open up the thread with Dori and Danni. She read the message at least five times, trying to think of any possible way that message didn't say exactly what she thought it did. Dorian had had sex! With that tiny annoying freshman - with Percy! He had had sex! If she hadn't been spontaneously feeling better, this would have been enough to fully reset her brain, as she felt her thoughts stall and crash out.
Dorian had done it.
He'd actually fucking done it.
She knew that people their age had sex - she was almost certain her girlfriends had done it, with each other - but Dorian? And Percy? When they were having the weirdest meeting ever with Coulson, those two were...
April's jaw had fully hit the floor.
Percy's jaw had hit the floor as well - for an entirely different reason. He'd recovered from his laughing fit, wiping the tears from his eyes, only to hear his sister say something completely inconceivable. "A slimer? You're seriously calling my boyfriend a slimer?" Percy stressed, before his expression hardened. Diana was his sister, yes, and he did love her - but in this moment, he couldn't help but feel pissed. Not only had she walked in on them, but now she was calling his boyfriend a slimer and acting like she had the moral high ground? He was furious with her - and like many siblings, when it came to a fight, he decided to go for the throat. "If that's what you thought was happening in there, then it's no wonder you're still single, sister dear. You'll do wonderful with your ten cats one day - I think they'll feel comfortable in the midst of a Peeping Tom."
April gasped, her gaze switching back and forth from Dorian's text to Dorian to Diana to Dorian to Dorian's text to Percy - but before she could even process what was happening in front of her, she heard Danni's voice from down the hall - and felt the rush of heat as a fire exploded out from him. But instead of doing some cool tricks with the fire, or giving a short monologue, or screaming about the news that he had just received... There was something wrong. Danni was frozen in place, looking trapped. "Danni!!" April screamed, as several things happened in quick succession - Sabine ran onto the scene with a fire extinguisher, doing her best to put out the fire but it was no use. She grabbed Danni though, starting to pull him out of there. Diana pulled the fire alarm. The sprinklers set off immediately, doing their very best to smother out the flames, but it was burning too hot, too fast - the extinguisher hadn't been enough somehow, and now neither were the sprinklers.
She threw her hands out in front of her, grabbing onto the water that was rushing to the sprinklers - and she dialed the pressure up, bursting the sprinkler heads off of them, and exposing just the openings for the pipes. A miniature waterfall of water came crashing down from the ceiling, and combined with Sabine's efforts with the extinguisher and Diana's with the sprinklers, the flames were finally doused, leaving behind a gigantic blackened scorch mark, and the scent of smoke clinging to everyone's clothing, crawling down their lungs.
Sabine, Leah, Mads, and Diana wouldn't have much trouble breathing. But Dorian, Percy, Danni, and April would all find themselves coughing, struggling somewhat with the smoke inhalation. And of course, thanks to the sprinklers, they were all positively sopping wet, standing in the hallway as the alarms blared and students began to evacuate.
Percy coughed, the smoke immediately getting to him somewhat - despite his recent proximity to Danni, he wasn't usually around fire this much. He thought about teleporting out, but he didn't want to leave people behind - and after the marathon with Dorian, he didn't know if he even had it in him to teleport himself again. "Congratulations, we tested the school's fire preparedness. We should leave now," he mumbled, reaching for Dorian's hand as he located the nearest staircase - it wasn't too far.
"Oh my god, Danni, are you okay?? Danni please say you're okay!! Danni!!!
Of course, one last thing had yet to happen - one final domino from this miniature inferno.
The dragon egg shook, as cracks began to form across its surface - and then, suddenly, it hatched.
Danni felt like his head was full of cotton, the world dull and muted. He felt, distantly, a pair of hands on him and he could recognized Sabine was saying something, but the ringing in his ears was too much. He went with her easily, unable to resist if he wanted to. He recognized her concern and she was right to be concerned, but he couldn't get the words out to tell her he was the danger. The other fire was controllable, manageable, following all the appropriate rules for fire. Danni could explode again while she was right next to him. He really should shake her off. He still felt fragile, but he really needed somebody right now and he wasn't selfless enough to push that away.
As the fire was finally extinguished, Danni would have been able to breathe easier if not for one final middle finger from an already terrible situation. Danni clung to Sabine, coughing violently, as he inhaled a face full of smoke. The burning in his lungs helped, however. Some of the cotton in his head got loose at the pain ave he could actually get words out. “T'anks, Beanie.” Danni managed between coughs, shivering as the cold from the water started finally registered and he stumbled towards his dorm and the group huddled outside it, still white knuckle gripping Sabine like a lifeline.
However, Danni froze when he heard it. Faintly, from inside his bag, the quietest little crack and something heavy shifted slightly against his back. Danni froze again. There was only one thing in his bag- Danni's internal thoughts stopped as he heard a much louder one and he swung his bag in front of him, hunching over it to shield it from the water as he opened up his bag.
Red scales that once comprised the egg littered the inside of the bag and more were falling off as the baby inside worked at clawing it's way out. Larger cracks formed on the exposed surface and finally, a piece crumbled out. Then Danni was scrambling towards the nearest stairwell, kicked it open, and took the stairs down three at a time, only coming to a stop outside the building where the water was soaking him.
Inside his bag, and quickly demanding to be let out, was the most perfect, beautiful, little scales creature in the world. A light orange with little ridges on its back, wings still weak but claws snatching weakly at the little bits of membrane and shell sticking to it, his dragon was absolutely adorable. “Oh my god, oh my god, you are so fickin’ cute!!” Danni cooed. At his voice, the dragon looked up and Danni was head over heels. It reached out with one of its little (for a dragon. It was about the size of a small dog so Danni figured that was small) and Danni reached out to tap it, squealing as it brought his finger to his snout and sniffed at it.
“Hi, little baby. Who's t’e most precious little creature on t'e planet? You are, yes you are!”
By the time Leah had noticed that Danni accidentally set another fucking fire, the room was already getting flooded. Honestly, that was infinitely better than arson. April damn near drowned them, soaking everyone to the bone and that was a lot better than Leah having to socialize. April was really damn cool when she did stuff like that.
"Holy shit, April. That was fast as fuck, good." She was saying that mostly because she knew April was likely about to explode into a ball of apologies for getting everyone wet... Which would probably have Sabine saying something about how it was the perfect excuse to start shedding some layers. April was getting good at using those powers of hers. And now-
Oh, Danni was running off.
"Danni?! Where are you going?! HEY!"THIS WAS YOUR FUCKING IDEA! DON'T LEAVE ME HERE YOU FUCKING TWINK!
Great. Now she had to talk to people without the yappy little redhead egging her on. "Ughhhhh, fuck. Good save, April. Shit, now I gotta go and- Wait. Hang on. Nobody move, I have an idea."
Leah reached into her pocket and pulled out a marker. She didn't want to fish in her pocket for the runes since her clothes were soaked and that would probably rip them. Maybe next time, Sabine. She uncapped the marker and drew a straight line on the palm of her hand. She then drew a slash going upwards, starting from the bottom end of it. An inverted rune, which apparently meant the opposite of the normal rune.
"I was looking this stuff up over the break, you can do the opposite of a rune by just turning it upside down. This one means water, so..." Leah pressed her hand against the wall of the hallway, and felt something weird pulsing through her bones. She didn't feel that earlier, when Danni had watched her magically fertilize a sunflower. It was like someone had sat her skeleton next to an electric space heater and then shook it like a rattle. The wall was the first to be affected, and then the surroundings.
Everyone who had just been soaked by the sprinklers and April's powers started to steam, like a boiling pot of water, only the temperature didn't rise. All that water first evaporated, and then right as the hallway started to feel, humid, the water in the air just vanished. The entire hallway and the people in it were bone dry in seconds. Leah's hair and clothes felt lighter by the second, and whatever water damage to phones, earbuds or paper that had been caused suddenly wasn't a thing. It was almost like Leah had reversed time in a way, completely undoing the mess.
She was surprised to see that it worked at all.
"Fuck me... I couldn't do shit with these a week ago."

Victoria didn't even have time to read all of the messages, much less reply, before her sister blew up her phone. Tapping the green phone without delay, she looked worryingly at the alarms coming from Stark hall.
"Hi Cas. Quick rainheck on what is going on with me: WHY IS THE STARK HALL ON FIRE?! I just left and the place is already in flames, what the hell?"
She thought about it for half a second. The biggest pyro she knew of was Ardere, but that wasn't possible since Andy has borrowed her life indefinitely. That left...
"...god dammit, Danni..."
”I don’t know! But I don’t care about the fire, Vicky, what’s going on with you? You’ve been so weird and distant lately - you didn’t come home for Thanksgiving - and Mom said you jailbroke yourself??? I’m your sister, you should talk to me about things - let me help you - but I can’t do that if you don’t let me know what’s going on? Are you hurt? You know CAGE is where they take crazy people right? Billy’s mom went there once and—- never mind, just what is happening???”
"Oh! So she actually called it a jailbreak? Amazing. At least she's finally calling the relationship between me and her what it is, rather than packaging it as a family!" Victoria spat. "I don't even know where to start with the reasons why I didn't come home. How about we start with the fact that I know she has a backdoor in my system and can shackle me again with a single sentence? No thank you. I mean... Fucking hell!" She vented, opting not to tell Cassie that she didn't entirely trust herself not to attack Hope on sight in a fit of rage.
"Please tell me you didn't know about this." she continued, her voice sounding tired. "Please tell me I can at least still have a sister, since the person I considered a mother is either a cruel puppet master or completely oblivious to the irony of this arrangement."
There was silence on the other end of the line, followed by what quietly sounded like a sob. "...You're a robot, Vicky. You know the family history."
"...I do. Do you? One turned out evil, but also, Vis turned out fine. If Hope is so worried I won't work, she never should have built me in the first place." Victoria answered, her tone hollow. "Anyway, thanks for the vote of confidence, 'sis'." the sobs were now coming from both ends of the line. "I don't want to do this over a phone. You know where I'll be, come see me. If you care to."
Victoria ended the call, leaning back against the headrest, her eyes covered by her arm. She could trust none of them. And she needed to stay the hell away from any admin, until she figured out how to protect herself. A set of lyrics wormed itself into her mind and on her lips.
"I need to run far away Can't go back to that place Like she told me I'm just a big disgrace"
She straightened herself out and called out to the driver, idly wondering how many such and worse scenes they must have seen in their career. "Are we there yet?"

Diana glared at her brother, she felt really hurt when he basically called her a crazy cat lady she wanted to yell at him to, but she didn't want to in front of everyone. "We'll talk about this later." She said shaking her head slightly, the fire was starting to get worse even when she pulled the fire alarm. Luckily April managed to use her powers and broke the sprinklers to allow more water out and that quickly doused the fire from getting worse.
Her clothes were drenched in water completely now as well as her hair, but Leah managed to use some rune magic to quickly evaporate the water within the hallway. "I didn't know you could do that." Diana said looking at Leah, she decided to quickly get out of the hallway and headed for the stairwell making her way outside shortly after Danni did as well to. Her eyes wondered over to see him pulling out a baby dragon. Diana decided to take a few steps away from the two she didn't want to end up being on fire especially after Danni had just set the hallway on fire by accident.

Madalyne's eyes went wide as she looked between Diana and Percy seeing the two of them seemed to have some kind of sibling spat, she wasn't like that with her sister really. But she wasn't going to say anything it was clearly between Diana, Percy and Dorian, the fire started to get worse and the sprinkler system wasn't doing its best really. April luckily started to use her powers, though she was getting really wet due to the pipes breaking. "Great job there April." Madalyne said looking at her best friend and smiled, the fire was quickly doused which was good, and then the room started to warm up and everything started to dry pretty quickly. "It looks like you are getting better with your rune magic." Madalyne said to Leah, she offered her hand to April if she chose to follow her.
Madalyne quickly followed shortly behind Percy, Dorian, Danni and Diana down the stairwell nearby and outside and onto the main field, she saw something moving in Danni's bag and a cute little baby dragon started to come out. She approached them and knelt down looking between the two of them. "Aww it's pretty cute." Madalyne said as she looked over at Danni. "Are you okay?" She asked him.

Things progressed rather quickly. Sabine attempted to drag Danni away, hoping the others would follow suit. Thankfully, it seemed April focused-up and unleashed her power with the sprinklers, drenching them but putting out the fire. Smoke wafted over them and stuck to their clothing, but otherwise they were unharmed.
Leah cleaned up the remaining water with the use of her runes. It was, honestly, very impressive and very hot, but that had to wait. Sabine had checked Danni, wondering what happened. Given the state of him Sabine assumed he had been injured gravely, though Sabine saw no wounds. Before she could ask she heard a faint sount. What was that...cracking?
And then Danni moved to show what it was. The egg he had been given was hatching.
Which meant a dragon.
Which meant, potentially, more fire.
Danni's mood shifted and Sabine thought, and mentally chastised herself for, that it was rather silly to be in such a panic-stricken moment before to switch on a dime like that. Then Sabine's eyes shifted to April and how she had such a powerful mental block before. There was more going on here than anyone was admitting to.
"Ok well this is all well and good and I am glad we are safe but how about we talk about this outside still, especially with a new fire-breathing cutie here?" Sabine would unclench from Danni, but would still be nearby for support, but they really did need to get out of there.
Witch Demon? That seemed a little rude even for Leah. Regardless of what cool magic she may have unlocked. Those thoughts quickly took backseat to Diana's comment. ”Слимер? Это зрело, исходя из второсортной версии Кейт Бишоп.” Dorian replied to her alongside Percy, not even noticing the language he was speaking in. Or that what Diana said was meant to be hidden and veiled by Russian. Before anyone may have had time to unpack all of that, a blaze of flames erupted from his best friend and brother in the hallway. The walls caught on fire quickly, far more than Dorian had ever managed to see. He was so used to them being put out immediately by enchantments back home that the shock of it all caught him off guard. The only other time he'd seen it burn this bad was…that night. The one they'd sworn never to talk about.
Foam littered the floor as Sabine attempted to douse it all out. It wouldn't work. He was too hot. They needed his backpack, he carried around a suppressant just for this reason. The sound of alarms began to ring all around them, adrenaline pumping through Dorian as he tried to make a beeline towards Danni while the sprinklers did their best and failed. He'd get burned, he didn't care. All that mattered was Danni. The sprinkler heads burst, a sudden rush of water washing over them all as the flames were finally put out. Dorian was still running, leaving his boyfriend's hand behind. But by the time he'd reached Dannis spot, he was already gone, bounding for the outside. The slurry of foam and water mixed and made for a slick surface that Dorian quickly face planted into in his attempts to stop. Just moments before Leah drained all the water with rock magic. Dorian flipped onto his back, putting his arm in the air with a thumbs up. ”Great job everyone. We did it.” His voice sounding tired and empty as he wondered how Danni could just leave him like that.
The fire alarm hit Mary Sue with a shock, but one that was ultimately helpful for her. It gave her something to do, a thing she could accomplish and follow through on without much to think about. Nebulously, she looked around, and rubbed her head. She was going to get a headache from this, not that she didn't have one already. Diverting her eyes from the bright lights as she made her way through, perhaps moving more quickly than she would even normally.
Soon enough, she found herself out on the front lawn, and exhaled, relieved from the death of the sensory nightmare she'd just gone through. She looked at where she was, a part of her almost broke again. It felt like a thousand years ago, when she'd just come here. The word here echoed through her head a bit, at the complicated nature of what that word meant, but she understood it well enough. she gradually went about the process of making herself a part of the crowd, wondering what on Earth could have caused this.

"Okay, cool." Andy said. Thankful she'd be able to actually talk about everything with someone. "I can tell you everything that happened to me in the Framework. Also, I seem to remember believing you, even if it seemed crazy. I trusted that you were from the future. I was mostly disappointed you didn't know any of the movies I did. Bonus though is I can still make you watch them." She smiled. Then the alarm went off. Andy frowned and grabbed her bag that held her mom's doll. If the building was going to burn down she was not leaving that behind. Screw the rules about evacuation safety.
"Let's go. I'll tell you about the Framework as we go." Andy headed out of the hall and toward the field that was the evacuation zone. "Basically we got put into old school games and had to fight for our lives. Sometimes it was the game trying to kill us. Or as Vicky is so hung up on she was controlled by Arcade and ended up killing me. That's how I got out. If we died in the game we died in real life. But what they failed to do was not touch me." Andy shrugged. She was not upset about killing the freshman. "I don't know what everyone had to do in their games. I died fairly early actually. In Breath of the Wild." She really had died early and quickly. Having only dealt with two games.
She lined up in the area designated for her hall and waited to be counted by the teachers. This was the most normal thing that she had had happen while going to this school in a while.
9:00 AM - Mon.
@Forsythe: The driver looked back at Vicky through the rearview mirror. He was a middle aged man with strong features and bronzed skin, his hair dark and curly. He wasn't one of the faculty members at the school, nor was he a famous superhero. For all intents and purposes, he was just a guy, as far as Vicky would be able to tell - just one of the asylum's employees. In the shotgun seat was a second worker, a young woman with a side-shave and some scarring on the side of her neck. Both of them wore badges on a lanyard around their neck - the man's read Enrique Galán and the woman's Sharon Thompson.
Sharon turned around, offering Vicky a gentle smile. "We'll be there soon. My name's Sharon - I'll be your caseworker. The school is sending over most of the paperwork, so when we get to the facility, all we need to do is focus on getting you settled in." She then paused. "This is Enrique - one of our drivers - he's a good person to know, if you ever need anything."
Enrique shook his head slightly. "I do what I can to help out." Once outside of the building, the faculty members responsible for each floor of the dorm room went around making sure they had their students all accounted for. Students who lived on the third floor of Stark Hall (Diana and Zelda) were to meet up with Tigra. Students who lived on the fourth floor of Stark Hall (Mary Sue, Sabine, and Leah) were to meet up with Jack of Harts. Students who lived on the fifth floor of Stark Hall (Andy, Zari, and Vicky) were to meet up with Brunnhilde. Students who lived on the sixth floor of Stark Hall (Percy, Dorian, Danni, April, and Mads) were to meet up with Firestar.
Third Floor Meet-Up
Tigra's students were over by the supposedly haunted tree. The cat-woman was quickly counting them all off, looking up and down a roster list on a clipboard labeled FIRE PLAN. Most of the students from her hall were present, with a few exceptions. "Novikova? Diana Novikova? Flynn? Zelda Flynn? Ladies, if you are here, I need you to come check in with me!" Tigra called out, before shouting out as well to see if anyone had seen Tommy Maximoff or Eli Bradley.
Billy and Teddy, a.k.a. Wiccan and Hulkling, a.k.a. the Most Popular Couple in School, were very much present. Teddy had his arms wrapped around Billy, and Billy's hands were knotted up in Billy's hair, as the It Couple were deeply engaged in a make-out session, hardly caring that the rest of the school could see them. And why should they care? Everyone else just wished they were them.
Fourth Floor Meet-Up
Jack of Harts, a strangely radioactive man and an ex-boyfriend of She-Hulk, was similarly fussing himself with a clipboard. Several of his students were missing as well. The Young Avengers ladies were all in attendance, and he knew that something was going on with them, given that Cassie Lang was currently sobbing her eyes out as Kate and America tried to calm her down. Another one of his students was missing, but that was because she had died right before Thanksgiving Break - Ardere - and he hadn't removed her yet from the evacuation roster.
"Mary Sue Sullivan? Leah Jordan? Sabine Bassard? If you're here, please raise your hand!"
Fifth Floor Meet-Up
The fifth floor students had met up near the outdoor climbing wall, under Brunnhilde's watchful gaze. The Asgardian frowned a bit, peering at the clipboard in front of her as if it had offended her. It looked liable to snap in half at the slightest breeze with her fearsome grip. "Aye, let us see..." she murmured, before calling off name after name - almost everyone was present, with the exception of a few.
"Zarina? Andy? And Miss Victoria?" Brunnhilde called out, looking around for her charges. She wouldn't find Vicky, of course - Vicky was currently on her way to a secure facility. But given the quickness of the fire alarm, Brunnhilde hadn't had a chance to check her email yet to be notified. "Has anyone seen those young maidens?" she then asked, looking at the rest of her charges.
Sixth Floor Meet-Up
Firestar was pacing back and forth, almost completely through her roster when she realized a good portion of her students were missing. "April, Danni, Dorian, Percy, Mads? Has anyone seen them? Has-" she then turned towards the building, and her jaw dropped. There were her students... with a dragon.
Her students had a dragon.
Her most accident prone students, the ones that regularly caused extreme damage to the building, had a dragon.
"Fuck," Firestar whispered. "There's no way the insurance will cover this..."
April Flynn & Percy Novikov
Location: Avengers' Academy - Outside Danni and Dorian's Room Skills: N/A
Danni didn't answer April, taking off at a run and quickly leaving her sight. Her newfound energy and drive vanished for a split second, as self-doubt and hurt crept on in. Why hadn't he said anything? Had he not heard her? Yes, that must have been it. That was all it was. A lot of things had just happened at once - Dorian and Percy had fucked!! - and in the noise, Danni hadn't heard her. Everything was fine. He hadn't ignored her. In fact, if she were to run out after him right now, he probably would pull her into a big hug and they'd cry and talk it out and it would all be fine. No, better than fine - everything was going to be perfect. She'd put out the fire so quickly! She felt like she could put out a thousand fires right now! A million, even! A billion!
"Thanks!!" April beamed, as Leah and Mads told her she'd done a good job. She had a lot of practice when it came to putting out Danni's fires. They'd been partnered up in their elemental control classes as freshmen for a reason - definitely had saved the school a small fortune in fire extinguishers, although April's ability to smother out Danni's flames was hit or miss. If he really let loose, she wouldn't be able to do it - he was an omega level mutant, his power didn't have a limit. Hers did. It didn't bother her, though. She didn't need to be an omega to be strong.
However, as the water all around them suddenly vanished... April suddenly felt like her ears had popped from a sudden pressure change, as the area around the group became completely dry. "Woah that... That felt weird, Leah," she said, shaking her head a bit. The weirdness of it left pretty quickly, though, and while they did need to get out of the building, April wasn't going to leave - not without checking on Dorian first. He'd wiped out fully in the foam, and as Mads offered her her hand, April shook her head. "I'm good, thanks - gonna make sure Dori's okay, I'll see you out there."
By the time April had gone over next to Dorian and knelt down next to him, Percy was already on top of it, offering his boyfriend a hand up. He had blatantly ignored Diana for the rest of everything that had happened, and instead was just focusing on Dorian. He'd slipped and fallen in the foam from the extinguisher, and he seemed strangely tired? Was the exhaustion from what they'd been up to finally getting to him? Was it hunger? He knew that Dorian had wanted to get food right away, they'd burned a lot of calories and hadn't grabbed breakfast beforehand.
"Are you alright?" Percy murmured, checking him over quickly. He didn't think Dorian had hit his head, so odds of a concussion seemed low. Maybe he should look into taking a combat first aid class in the new year - it occurred to him that Dorian was somewhat fragile. (Not that Percy himself wasn't, of course). And his friends were rather prone to having explosive breakdowns with their powers. He'd need to think on this more later.
Once Dorian was ready to leave the building, April and Percy headed out with him - April with an arm around Dorian's shoulder, and Percy standing close enough to catch Dorian in case he really had hit his head - or was about to pass out from exhaustion. He really needed to start checking out medical texts from the library, he mused.
Outside of the building, the others were already somewhat clumped up - most of them beginning to gather around Danni, rather than go to their respective zones. However, it was soon clear to Percy as to exactly why. Danni Kingston had a dragon. His eyes widened. A dragon. Percy never would admit it, but the creature was completely adorable, about the size of a small dog. Had that been what the entire fire was actually about? Percy wasn't familiar with dragon-hatching processes, but it wasn't hard to imagine they involved a great deal of fire. He lowered his voice, so only Dorian could hear. "Did he cause the fire on purpose then? To hatch a dragon?"
April, of course, was not nearly as quiet. "OMG Danni!!!!! It's so cute!!!! Does it have a name yet??? It's such an adorable little baby babe!!!! Ahhhhh!!!!"
The second he could, the bag had been dropped and Danni was cuddling his little orange scaled baby. Danni didn't know if this what parenthood was but just looking at his dragon, Danni wanted to cry he was so happy. He definitely felt tears and let out a happy, wet laugh. “Am I okay?! Of course I'm okay! I'm great! Look at ‘er. She's perfect.” Danni said in wonder.
Danni beamed as the rest of the group finally caught up. “I know Princess, isn't she adorable? I t'ink I'll call ‘er Amélie.” Danni decided, cooing as Amélie chipped and squirmed. She hooked her claws in his shirt and dragged herself up sitting in his arms with her head resting on his shoulder as she took a look at everything around them. mental note, start investing in some sort of padding so she doesn't destroy your clothes. “Dee, Dee, Dee! Come meet your niiiiece!”
Dorians mental fog had lifted from what he was seeing. A dragon? Like they knew that there was more likely a dragon inside that egg but…to see the dragon actually there, with them. Excitement bubbled inside of him as he ran, snagging both April and Percy's hands in his and running full blast through the crowd of people who surrounded Danni and stopping just mere inches away from Danni. But there was no such thing as personal space between them. ”I'm an uncle?! Oh let me see my little niece!!!” Dorian said as he snagged the big little dragon off of Danni's shoulder and spun in a circle. ”She so cute! Fuck!” Dorian released one hand from the dragon and shook it in the air blood splattering a bit from where the claws had dug in. Giving back the dragon to Danni.
The moment that Dorian released Percy’s hand, he immediately took several steps back from the group. He’d been dragged all the way into Danni’s personal space, and with everyone else crowding around the baby dragon, it was a bit too much for Percy. Dorian touching him was something he was adjusting to - but the thought of everyone bumping into him as they tried to get a better view was mildly nauseating.
April didn’t share this problem though. Her eyes were wide with astonishment as she stared at the precious baby girl, giggling as Dorian took the dragon from Danni and spun her in the air. “Oh my god Danni you’re a dad now!!! That’s so cool!! Can I hold her? Please? Pleeeeease? Ooo wait can I be her aunt then? Like the cool mysterious wine aunt? That would be such a vibe - not that I drink or anything but you know what I mean!!”
“Deeeee!” Danni screeched as he snatched Amélie away, who had sharp fucking claws and took part of shirt with him. He quickly gathered Amélie back into his arms, shushing the little distressed noises and murmuring little nothings until she was peeking curiously at people again. “Guys, ‘member she just ‘atched! Give ‘er more t’an a second!” Danni whined, but he did turn towards April so she could come up to her.
“Of course you’re ‘er auntie! But maybe don’t pick ‘er up? She snatched Dee so she might be a little overwhelmed. Come pet ‘er t’ough. Once we get ‘er settled in t’e dorm, we can ‘ave ‘er get used ta you and you can snuggle wit’ ‘er t’en.” Amélie snuffed at the air and yawned.
Dorian stuck his finger to his mouth, sucking on the wound down the side of it. ”Yeah ‘er claws are way too sharp right now. But ‘ow can you expect me not to want to pick up my little niece t'e second I see ‘er?!”
”Awww who’s a good wittle baby girl?” April cooed, as she slowly reached out, letting the dragon sniff her hand a bit first before she started to pet her, starting up at the head like a cat. Her parents had never really let them own pets, but she tended to spend every single second of her summers home outside somewhere, and she loved to give the neighborhood cats a good scritch behind the ears when they’d let her. It’s you! Yes it’s you! You’re the good baby!!”
Amélie, after a hesitant moment, ate up the affection and Danni cooed at the sight. He was head over heels for this little dragon and so was everyone else, just like they should be. “I'm gunna love ‘er so much. Oh, I gotta start shoppin’ for a nice bed and toys and… I gotta figure out what she eats. Probably meat but like, can dragon's ‘ave allergies? Can t'ey ‘ave chocolate or is it like dogs? Ugh, t'ere weren't any useful books last we checked. I'll probably ‘ave ta run ta all t'e magic profs, huh? Unless anyone ‘ere knows about dragons?” Danni looked around at the group before cooing at Amélie again. “I didn't know you were comin’ baby. I'm sorry I'm not very prepared but you can ‘elp me pick out whatcha like, can't you? And Imma make sure you're t'e most spoiled little dragon on campus!”
”She can borrow Amours bed for now since I left ‘er at ‘ome wit’ Pa and Appa during break. Apparently she needed to be “ ‘ousebroken” T'en when we get Amélie ‘er own bed and Pa sends it I can brin’ Amour back to school and we can get t'em acquainted! T'ey can be t'e best of friends!”
April gasped. my gods that’s going to be the absolutely cutest thing ever!!! A dragon and a dinosaur playing!!! Wait you guys you should put them on your channels!! This is the content the people deserve!!!”
Danni froze for a second before laughing nervously “Yeah, definitely somet'in’ ta t'ink about.” Danni hadn’t had a chance to catch April up on all the drama that had happened but for now, his channel was on hiatus. He wasn't looking forward to going through that conversation again. “We do need ta take a family photo of all of us when we ‘ave them bot’ ‘ere! Like, first t'in’!”
”Oh agreed! It'll probably take a bit of time to get t'ing's set up bot’ for Amélie and ‘avin’ ‘er on t'e show. So we may need to pause Kingstons Kitchen for a bit to give t'is little sweetheart as much attention as she deserves while also settin’ up a good way to ‘ave ‘er be in it. If you're alright wit’ a bit of a ‘aitus right now D?”
“Since we don’t have classes, maybe we go by the pet store today? Can look around and see what stuff they have? Or is there, like, a magical pet store? That should be a thing, right? Ooh! What if we opened a magical pet store - think of all the cute little costumes we could sell!!” April gushed, oblivious to Danni’s discomfort. She was feeling incredible and this adorable baby dragon was only boosting those feelings.
She hadn't been entirely sure what to really do at this point. Until she heard the alarm blaring from the fire alarm. That was not something she had expected to hear or something. But given the fact that there were a lot of people with superpowers in the building, it also wasn't totally unexpected or heard of. Zelda headed out into the rest of the crowd, though it made it a bit difficult, since a lot of people were running into her since she still wasn't really visible to everyone else around.
It took a little while for her to get over to her floor's meetup area. Given the mob of people, it had been a little bit. Of course, then came the issue of Tigra obviously not noticing that she was there. Which wasn't all too surprising to her. It didn't matter though, Zelda managed to get over to where she was before speaking up. "Sorry, um, I'm Zelda, and I'm here." even though she was still invisible, at least Tigra would be able to hear her.
Zarina Raynordattir
Location: Andy's Dorm Room Skills: N/A
Zari giggled a bit at the comment about the movies, "I don't even know the movies from this time era, things work very differently back home. Reality hopping is really really weird with that sort of thing and all of the differences. So yaaaaaaay for that," she said, before listening as Andy started telling her about her experience in the Framework while they headed out to the meetup for their own floor and all. Of course she didn't really get the reference to the game that Andy had mentioned dying in, but that just went with what she had said before about the reality stuff.
"I guess I scared him a bit, you should have seen the Framework training session that we actually did. But not sure what "Breath of the Wild" is, but does not sound like fun. Also mind control is no joke and you aren't ever responsible for your own actions with it. So not sure why Vicky is so hung up on that. It'd be way worse if you were actually dead. Then I probably would have dismantled her," she said with a shrug, before hearing Brunnhilde call out their names as they had gotten to the evac area by then. "Over here!" she called out with a slight wave.
"Yeah, we're right here." Leah didn't raise her hand. Sabine and April went off already. The fire was already put out, there wasn't really any need to do this. She didn't even know who this guy really was, honestly. He looked like he'd been getting ready for a costume party, and got interrupted for this halfway through. It was honestly kind of an ugly superhero look. Today was fucking awful, and she really wanted to just take up refuge in the damn gym already, or take a walk through town, or do nothing while April and Sabine were around her. That would've been nice, just sitting in the same room and not worrying about anything.
"The fire's already been put out. It didn't get a chance to spread, the hallways are fine." She was wondering if she could pull something like that off again. Leah didn't actively think about it, she just did it. Was it a thing like boxing where you just got better with time? From what she could figure out over the break, people had a tendency to just be born for magic, and not everyone could learn to cast spells. And yet, over the break, she got nothing to work, and she did something cool twice today.
Wasn't there supposed to be seven of them? No, six. Or was it five?

Diana looked at her brother for a moment and Dorian, as well as her other friends they all seemed to be gushing all about the little baby dragon that Danni had. She didn't want to be near them for the moment, her brother was clearly pissed off at her they could talk later if Percy wanted to talk he knew where her dorm room was. Diana made her way over towards the third floor meetup location seeing Billy and Teddy both were making out there. Diana shook her head slightly, it reminded her a little bit of her barging into Dorian and Percy about to get it on.
Diana raised her hand to get Tigra's attention. "I'm here." Diana said as she made her way towards the tree she leaned herself up against the side of the tree. Diana looked over to where she heard Zelda's voice when Tigra called her name out, she wasn't sure where Zelda actually was. "Whats up Zelda?" Diana asked not really looking where she was, Diana turned to look at Eli and Tommy giving the two a slight wave as well. "How are you guys?" Diana asked them.
Madalyne Crane
Location: Avenger's Academy, Outside of Stark Hall. Current Outfit: AA School Uniform Skirt and blazer Skills: N/A Grimoire: N/A
Madalyne felt slightly awkward as she looked at Danni, Dorian and April were all gushing over the little dragon hatchling she did feel like a third wheel at times whenever she was around the three of them. Her attention turned towards Firestar who was approaching them and called out their names and she gave her a slight wave.
"We are all here and present." Madalyne said to Firestar as she looked over at the building luckily it wasn't on fire anymore thanks to April. Madalyne watched as she saw Diana walking over to where her floor was supposed to meet up, she looked over at the cute little dragon once again and gave it a friendly smile she didn't want to overwhelm it like Dorian suddenly did.
