"Have you tried turning it off and back on again?"
John is not a subtle individual. With his blond hair spiky and dyed sky-blue, he tends to stand out in a crowd. He could probably do to lose a little weight, but he keeps himself in decent shape, making sure to exercise regularly. He has light brown eyes, a squarish jaw, and an easy smile. He is always clean-shaven, and his stubble is light, making it less visible. His taste in clothing runs to graphic tees and jeans. He's not fond of wearing suits, and avoids doing so as much as he can. He has no piercings, but will occasionally wear a single screwback earring or ear cuff.
The second child of a suburban New York couple, John lived a rather ordinary life growing up. His parents had good jobs, so he wanted for little. He and his elder sister both attended public school, where John excelled at math and did decently at most other subjects. He found his passion for computers and robotics early, in a summer science camp he attended at the age of ten. His parents encouraged this interest, and John is now a blossoming young engineer.
Unfortunately, dreams of thunderstorms filled his sleeping hours several months before his eighteenth birthday, and John found himself packed off to the Merryweather Institute in short order. Lightning primalists are no joke. He misses his family terribly, but he's doing his best to stay positive, and looking for opportunities to make new friends.
John is an outgoing, friendly sort. He has an easy laugh and an easier smile. He does love a good prank, though he's too polite to play any himself. He's a nerd and a geek, and proud of both aspects of himself. He has an even temper, and prefers to let things go rather than fight. That's not to say he doesn't get angry, but he's mostly easy-going. His pet peeve is people that think they know what they're doing when they clearly do not, especially with electronics.

John has control over electrical currents and static electricity. He is cautious using his powers with his electronics, because he doesn't want to fry them, but he could probably charge his phone by hand if he wanted to. He is immune to electrocution, but when nervous or upset he tends to generate a small charge that manifests as a minor static shock when touched.
