I'm still interested, I've just been having trouble coming up with a character. My two main ideas are either a guy kinda like Hawkman/Warhawk with the wings and weapon or going with a guy with hero parents but doesn't have nay of his own yet so he uses gadgets and stuff. I can't decide though.

@TheUnknowable Question: is there a limit to the number of super-genes that a person derives their powers from?

I assumed two genes, ala Mendelian allele inheritance.

EDIT: AKA One from the Mother, One from the Father

Genes are funny things, so I just figured I would check.

Again, sorry everybody. I'm just...having the worst time working on this character. I usually have something pinned down from the get go but I just keep ping ponging between ideas and its just not good for a speedy CS. That and the Three Barons Fair has gotten a lot of my super hero thoughts turned into knight ideas.

Not really, but the Incredibles only have 3 or 2 each, so limit it to that.

not all of your mother's or father's will necessarily be on the same chromosome, in the same location on the chromosome, or compete with each other. Technically, I suppose each super gene would be either a dominant or recessive form of the gene, with each super gene being a different gene. Making a system like that for an RP would be a bit too complex, though.

Like thunder said, though,

Genes are funny things...

You could make a "Knight" themed super if you want.

Characters:

The first post says that the new supers' first patrol will be tomorrow (in world), so I'm guessing they've at least begun their training with Frozone. Perhaps they've been living together for a week or so? That's long enough that we don't have to RP the introductions and get on with babysitting, but not have the characters too familiar with each other, and able to grow quickly in their relationships.

Depending on how fast he found them, they may have been there for between two months and a week. They'll have to have training in uniquely super-hero things, like superhero etiquette, the fact that they don't have jurisdiction to get involved in street-level crime unless a police officer or victim asks them to get involved, how to deal with certain situations, etc. Also, he'll make sure that you know how to use your powers safely.

I'll wait a few hours before starting, to give a bit more time to the people who haven't made a character yet.

For example, eye color is determined by a single set of genes, but the gene has three variations: brown, blue, and green (blue is recessive, green is recessive to both).

In contrast, hair color is determined by I think at least five separate sets of genes.

@TheUnknowable so, I hate to kick a dead horse, but it seems those that were interested previously have backed out. I would recommend proceeding without them, and trying to recruit more people at a later date to ad into the store where applicable.

True that. Also, a response from Jack-jack would be great.

I'll think about it tonight and try to add a response tomorrow. I know one thing he'll say is "but fish don't have fingers."

I'm sorry. I couldn't think of anything to post, and then forgot about it.

Are you guys still interested or should we assume this is dead.

Hi @Mr Rage. I just wanted to clear up what's going on with Mako and Rebekah at the moment, so that we're both on the same page.

At the moment, I'm a bit confused by the mixed messages Mako is sending. She brought up the induction cooking and the possibility of her powers That has been the only thing driving the interaction up to this point, and it has good potential to move the scene forward, in one direction or another. On the other hand, she has twice backed away from actually trying it.

Is Mako just being a little reluctant here, and will be on board with a little more convincing, or do you really want to steer this scene away from how it began and into something else?

@DFTBA Yeah, just another nudge more. Truly, she wants to try it out and see if she can do it, but she also knows better then to try it out on someone else's stuff, let alone these people's stuff!
