@Sep I have some questions about some technical aspects, usually I'm not very science-y, but space and space technology gets me jazzed.

Kinetic and Plasma weapons, I'm not sure how plasma acts in space, especially in a condensed form such as ammunition. But I know that, at least ballistic weapons in zero gravity, the force of firing would push the shooter back. So with that, Kinetic weaponry, which is what I assume what the ships use. I could have misread or am simply an idiot, but wouldn't the force of guns that big push the ship around? How would you counteract that?

Also, Engineering division, I assume they would handle AI (With security assistance) as well as systems, engines, hyperspace, jump drive, etc?

@The Survivor electromagnetic rails (rail guns) have no recoil because the acceleration is purely due to magnetic acceleration.

A.I would be handled by technicians, which could fall under the purview of Engineering yes, the actual programming side would largely be the scientists who knew fully what they were doing. Though yes Engineering also includes propulsion, energy generation, hyperspace engine, jump drive, shields etc.

An important thing to note is that engineering will be enlisted (military) personnel, even if they weren't prior to being chosen.

@Firecracker_ Tell you what, I think the best way for me to decide is if you PM me the sheet and I can take a look at it as a whole as it kinda depends on what's going on, and I don't want to make a decision that could be wrong.

Chief Engineer would be his title, Engineers aren't typically officers so he'd be a Chief Petty Officer (cause we're naval).

Bio:

Jermija Turov, born in the Rosin Federation.

Military and Jermija are two things that go together. For most of his life Jermija has been a military man. Ever since he was the age of 16 Jermija has had a drive to succeed in the military. On his tests scores and his various other training exercises he has been described has a class above his peers.

However in battle he's a different man, which was proven over the years of operations for the Rosin Federation.

Various operations he was deployed to, which got him his rank and his reputation inside of the military, but there's one notable one. Historically it's labelled as the November 12th incident which involved the head of a Martian Crime Syndicate by the name of Al Khareem.

Al Khareem was known for his drug operation on Mars. But also known for Human Trafficking and Prostitution. Taking girls from various parts of earth's and either moving them onto space stations or other places on earth. This came to light when a prostitute was found dead in a Rosin Federation outpost near to the ruins of Russia. After an inquiry and some investigation the drugs and the girls were located to Al Khareem and his syndicate. His pockets deep so a military investigation ensued, under command of Jermija.

Jermija during the first few months made great ground, various brothels, drug houses were shut down however he hit a dead end. Al Khareem during one of the raids managed to escape to Mars. The Federation was plagued with a choice. Either inform the Martians of the Federations operatives arrive, risk Al Khareem know (Rumors of a Martian official in the pockets of Khareem were swirling) or go in deep cover. The brass chocie the later and they went into Mars deep cover.

To lure our Khareem, a few brothels were hit. They made it seem like a rival group was targeting Khareem's operations for him to agree to the meet, and so he did... on November 12th.

The day of the meet happened, Jermija was with two other men. His crew had take up positions at the meeting spot a few moments earlier and had the tactical advantage.. or so they thought. Police cruisers arrived and even a helicopter. The rumors were correct, Al Khareem sent a hit squad out.. of corrupt police. Jermija's crew managed to fight and break free, but he lost a few good men that day. The Federation backed his full report and his crew also. The issue to this day remains a hotbed for discussion, but also Khareem's whereabouts are unknown..

He often wears the standard ark engineer's uniform during work hours, the only sign that he's in charge is the Chief Petty Officer insignia on his military cap. The standard ark engineer uniform is navy blue camo, much like the U.S. navy uniform, with tool pouches and technological devices on their person. The patch on their right shoulder is a Cog with wings, with the writing under it 'The Vitae'.

Bio:

Kazuhiro 'Kaz' Okasaki was born in Niigata, Nakasaki Conglomerate on June 1st, 2173. Kaz's father was a weapons scientist and his mother died a month after giving birth to him, leaving his father to raise Kaz and his sister, Asuna, who was 3 years older than him. From an early age, Kaz showed his father's brilliance for technological things. In elementary and high school, Kaz attended everything to do with mechanics and electronics. He managed to get a scholarship to The Tokyo Institute of Technology, his first 5 years totally paid for. His sister delved into the arts, attempting to maker her way as a painter and writer. While having limited success, she was making progress and Kaz supported her the entire time.

Meanwhile, Kaz's father argued with the government officials of the conglomerate as they ordered him to make big and badder weapons. Kaz's father's rebellious attitude did not sit well with the higher ups and they decided to do something about it. In 2193, Kaz was attacked and nearly beaten to death, barely surviving. This encouraged Kaz's father to follow orders, just as the conglomerate planned. The experience was life-changing to Kaz, who thought he had just been the victim of a completely random act of violence, he vowed to never hurt another human being. Kaz graduated from the Institute in 2199 with a PhD in Engineering and Applied Sciences. Four months later, Kaz was working for the conglomerate at a plant dedicated to researching advanced power sources and technologies. That same month, he met his wife, Orie. They started dating and finally got married in January of 2200. It was around this time that Kaz was alerted to the blackmail his father was suffering by the conglomerate, a trusted friend in the security industry finding out and telling Kaz.

Doing some more digging, Kaz found that the men that nearly killed him back in '93 were agents of the conglomerate, a message to his genius father that he had to keep working. Infuriated by the new information, Kaz nonetheless kept silent, knowing that if he dug any further that both he and his father could end up dead. In March of 2202, Kaz's son was born, Akio Okasaki. Akio's birth opened his eyes to the danger he was putting his family in by continuing to work for the government. He quit and joined an international energy project, with legal protection from all world governments. In 2205, Orie fell ill with a painful and unidentifiable disease. Kaz took her to the best doctors in the world, but none could figure out what was happening to her. Struck with grief and stress, Kaz often found solace in a bottle of wine and often retreated to it after a long day. Being recently promoted to head of engineering operations in the organization he worked in, he was often bombarded with orders for an organization he was beginning to hate.

In 2206, he was included in a roster of people to leave earth in the face of the devastator invasion. Unaware of his rising alcoholism, Kaz and his family were admitted as ideal candidates.Knowing that his family could be saved, Kaz worked tirelessly to prepare his family for the arks. But two years before the completion, he was informed that Orie's failing health made her ineligible to attend. This news only increased his alcohol consumption as he tried to figure how to tell his wife she would die a violent death. How to tell his son his mother couldn't come. How to deal with the fact that his father and sister would die here as well.

Months before the arks launched, he broke the news to Orie, who had drifted apart from him as he descened into alcoholism and grief. It infuriated him that she understood. it infuriated him that she was happy they would survive. It infuriated him that the love of his life just accepted her fate. He took his son, who was confused and angry, although he was 14 going on 15, he didn't understand what was happening. Kaz sadly drove away from his home for the last time, boarding the ship that would take him and Akio away from Earth forever.

I've made the timeline clearer, I must apologize to you and @Sovi3t as you both worked so hard! The main reason I include them is they are important dates that define this reality I've created.
