For Everyone: We will be doing a timeskip ideally by the end of this week or the start of next, so try to get intro posts in soon if you haven't. :)

As a trial and run, Tundra and I will be opening the last available son roles to daughters. The roles are as followed: Poseidon, Demeter, and Dionysus. So potentially, their parent could have two daughters or a daughter and a son. After all roles are filled, we may add more slots for other gods/goddesses.

I do know @Viciousmarrow was interested in making a daughter, so if you know where your interest is, let me know!

ANOTHER ANNOUNCEMENT

Tundra and I discussed about the race and how we will go about it in IC. We decided it would get messy to actually literally roleplay it out. So. What we're going to do is post the obstacles in OOC, who is in the obstacle, and the lucky person (the winner). I also decided to make the 'race' a point system rather than pass the baton - so if you win, you give your team a point. After the assembly we are going to time skip to the banquet, but it is up to you to PM the other writer your character is up against and discuss how your obstacle went down - ultimately leading to the pre-decided results. In your first banquet post, what happened in your obstacle scene can be put in summary form. You all can get creative. Hell, some characters could even almost win their obstacle but somehow the other person made a massive comeback.

There may be one or two four person challenges.

This is to prevent as much chaos as humanly possible - plus it's easier to discuss a large scene like this in PM.

We're doing this because it would just be hard to play out a race that requires massive amount of organization and order in IC. So we would rather it just be summary form.

I'm not saying this because I don't find the idea interesting or because I don't want to PM collaborate the results, I am saying this because Preston just wouldn't show up. He doesn't care for those things, and so I am acting completely within his personality, and if it causes a team to lose because they were one man short, then those characters who are upset about it know who to gripe to. But they'll be disappointed because he won't give a damn.

Cute as a button, May stands at a very short 4'11", and she's quite thin at 88lbs. Despite many people thinking she has an eating disorder, this is far from the truth as her friends should know. She has medium length, dark brown hair that she styles differently each day. Like her hair, her eyes are a bold shade of brown. Body-wise, May has little to no curves and is as flat as a board. Fortunately, her redeeming features are entirely facial, considering she is quite pleasant to look at.

Her day to day clothing generally consist of an eye popping t-shirt with khakis or jeans, accessorized with a different pair of ear rings each day. She tends to wear a minimal amount of make-up, but she's not afraid to deck herself out when she wants.

There's never a dull moment when May is around. She is an extremely vibrant and spontaneous woman who can't help but be herself. She's the type of person to break into song and dance at the drop of a dime, regardless of what's going on around her. However, she is an incredibly innocent and naive person. She trusts people way too easily and doesn't see every person as dangerous, which can lead to some some dangerous situations. This forces her friends to always be on the lookout for her, especially at parties where the wrong person could take advantage of her.

May is exceptionally active with her life, getting into all sorts of hobbies and clubs while somehow maintaining her grades and social life. She loves to plan things, especially parties. While she is quite great at planning events, there is rarely a second of thought that goes into her actions, and she just simply does what she wants in the moment. To make matters worse, she rarely understands why some people lash out at her.

► Background ◄

May (Cantonese name: Baak Ju Mei) was born in Hong Kong, China, the daughter to a burgeoning biotechnologist. Her father was researching ways to increase crop yields in China to help feed the entire population, which innately attracted Demeter's attention. While his intentions were quite pure, business in the Chinese markets ended up being a cut throat business. By 2008, when the Great Recession hit, he had lost it all. May had never really known a privileged lifestyle, but now they were destitute and homeless. Perhaps in an attempt to better his daughter financially, her father killed himself so she could collect life insurance on him. Slightly better off now but without a father, May had to use a good portion of the money to travel to America, where her uncle and aunt lived.

Once in the state of California, her name was Americanized to better fit in with the English-speaking population and she was enrolled in public schools. May, having learned some English while in China, was not totally disadvantaged but did struggle some in the American school systems. Quirky and rather strange, she didn't quite fit in with everybody, but fortunately she did not spend a significant time in public schools before she was able to attend Olympus Academy.

Now in her second year, May looks forward to meeting all of the new people and taking lots of pictures!

May is the worst player at every video game. She almost always loses, and those that lose to her should be ashamed. Also, she's a virgin and a hopeless romantic, waiting on the right man, which she has told her friends multiple times.

Demeter and May are not on great terms, mostly due to Demeter's inability to understand her daughter's quirkiness. The goddess tends to try and take control of May's life, which inevitable causes her to distance herself from her mother.

► Godly Abilities ◄

Aspects: From her mother, May has inherited two aspects that represent Demeter's duality of life and death; the flourishing earth and the devouring earth.

Blessed Bounty - As mother earth, Demeter has restorative powers and can bring forth new life. Manifesting this power, May can regenerate that which has been destroyed, except human life. While she can not resurrect the dead, she can heal wounds over time. In this form, pleasant weather and growing crops tend to follow her. Those around her seem to be invigorated by the radiance glowing from her.

Grim Harvest - Demeter's sorrow and rage flows through her daughter. In this aspect, May conjures a black scythe to reap vengeance on those that dare to hurt her. The scythe is frigid and eats away at all organic matter it touches. Bitter cold stirs about her form, bringing snowfall, plants begin to wither and die in her presence, and those near her begin to experience fear and terror.
