[OOC] No Turning Back - Into the Abyss

Away Team Summary:

Nyx is currently landed on planet in a large clearing. Time is almost 22:00 ship time, but the planet still has a few hours of sunlight left since the Nyx landed.

Player Summary:

Pilots Sara Hawkins @vietmyke & Cassandra Atkov @Civetta were both deployed for recon with several military personnel to set up a large perimeter.

MacKenzie Newton @Fuzzybootz was trapped in a storage room on the Nyx while sent to check all active droids aboard the ship, however while in a storage room, she was knocked unconscious by debris from an overhead shelf just in time for the Nyx to launch from the Vitae, thereby locking all non-essential doors and trapping her inside the storage room. She was then later found and brought to the medbay where she was patched up and is now on her way to find Gavon TreVayne (@Rawk) in order to explain the situation and request permission to continue with the away team.

Amara Locke @Subject Zero assisted Kenzie in the medbay and then immediately headed for the cargo bay to pack up supplies needed before boarding the Beast Command Vehicle

Karen Anderson @Draken is currently waiting to board the Beast Command Vehicle

Michael @Heat decided to take a stroll and never came back...j/k...actually, he did and is on his way to board the Beast Command Vehicle.

Gavon Trevayne @Rawk is currently up in the Navigation/Cockpit area of the Beast Command Vehicle, along with the (NPC) Captain Eccleson and the Beast's driver/pilot. He was tasked with overseeing the Civilian population during the away mission.

@Sep I've decided to wait for the thing with the cryopods to blow over before introducing Aria Summers. I don't want what I want to do with that setting to mix up or interfere with what's actually going on in the setting.

First of all, I hope you had a very good holiday (whichever you celebrated) and am hoping you for all the best in the New Year. Due to the holiday season, and before that scholary season, I have posted in order to keep the ball rolling to prevent stagnation. So the Away Team (You know who you are) are now in the active zone where you can start exploring and looking around. There are very few ground rules on what is in the area, feel free to invent (The only thing I am keeping under the control of the GMs are the spheres).

As this is our first away mission, where we have a lot of people working towards similar objectives we're going to try something. Each PC is going to be part of a Survey Team consisting of at least 3 (up to eight) members, plus two security personnel (humanoid or droid). These squads however will be manned largely by NPCs, don't feel the need to delve into backstory unless you feel like it. "Dave who specializes in biology" works fine for me. If you so wish to collab, you can go along with one other player character (I expect you to organize these duos by yourselves) which will allow for collabs but won't cause them to clog things up.

These groups can cross paths, though only for a short period of time. Though if someone leaves a group (I.E. If @Rawk and @Heat were a group, and Michael wandered off by himself @Rawk could go chill with @FuzzyBootz as @Subject Zero went running after @Heat) another player can fill the buddy slot. Any questions on this feel free to ask, I feel like I may have written it in an overcomplicated way but it's really simple.

Civilian Away Team post is up...

Aside from the military detachment who are currently setting up a perimeter 50 meters from the Beast Command Vehicle, the civs are assigned two Sec Agents and with a couple of science teams (NPCs) who are doing whatever it is they do to survey the area.

I had thought about allowing each player to make their own team, but after all was said and done only @Draken was left without already having a predetermined team, so I assigned.

Anyway, there it is. If you have a problem with the grouping...suck it up ;)
