I feel the urge to ask if there's a role, character archetype, or combat specialty anyone would like to suggest I focus on. But I get the feeling I should just work on it myself and see what happens. Still, anything anyone would like me to keep in mind will be appreciated.

Nope, that's not how any of us are playing this. Everyone just made it up as they went along. As long as the character has a full personality and a workable skillset, all's good.
