Hi all! Sorry just tagging you to update you all on the happenings and some general info for the next day or so. Here's the quote from the opening post about point bonus on sunrise/set days:
Day and night cycle: In order to get everyone on the same page regarding the sun's general position (up vs down) there are two days out of every month that mark sunrise and sunset. Sunrise will always fall on the 9th day of the month. Sunset will always be on the 24th. To drive home this concept, your characters will receive 3 trainer points when you post as them IC. This extra bonus only applies to the first post of that day. Up to three of your Pokemon can even gain a level when you post on one of these two days. The first three Pokemon that you mention in your IC post will receive the level boost; if you don't mention three Pokemon, the Pokemon that you have had the longest will receive the boost.
So basically every character gets: +3TP and +1 level for up to three Pokemon. I guess it doesn't matter which Pokemon gets the bonus, but every Pokemon only gets one point max! Don't try and give it all to one Pokemon, 'cuz spontaneous growth spurts are not a thing here ;)
Balthazar has suggested taking this point bonus system off as he is trying to make the RP more individual-based, but I'd like this point bonus system for sunset/sunrise to stay--any thoughts? We can self-monitor and such, and the community as a whole will have an obligation to be correct about it all. What do you say?
I don't think we need to form an official "committee" or "board" of members, so everyone is free to use the pinglist at the top of the post should you have an "announcement" type thing like a new location or such. HOWEVER! Use it with caution as no one wants to be tagged on a whim ^_^ Common sense and respect will serve you well here.
I think the incentive to post on sunrise and sunset should stay as well. It's not like it's too much, any way. It's something to help us keep progressing--we don't want to be stuck as basic trainers forever.
I'll keep the pinglist in mind.
Here's another matter: with Balthazar gone, we aren't going to be able to update stats, locations, and so forth in the OP anymore. The best chance we have, I think, is to ask @LuckyBlackCat to take care of it, since the second post in the OOC thread belongs to Lucky. What does everyone else think?
@lugubrious I actually don't like the idea of an opening post. It's too dependent on a single person, and I think we'd all do better just managing our own stats. If you're an active poster, it's totally possible, and if you haven't been online for a while you can go through your own posts on your profile and whatnot.
In fact, why don't we make a doc or something of the like where everyone can update their own points? @luckyblackcat can reference it, and everyone can still be responsible for their own points. I don't know--I just don't like the idea of pushing responsibility onto a certain person. But, if Cat is willing, she can definitely go for it :)
Well, it's stuff like locations too. If location like the ones made recently get approved, then people will need to get information on them. When I'm thinking of stuff to write while Olivie is in Feyhollow, for instance, I refer back to the Feyhollow sheet pretty often, which I can do because it's linked in the OP.
@DusksongI think a doc would work quite nicely since it'd be easily accessible at any time (instead of having to dig through the pages which I'm sure we're not too keen on doing).

That's all from me, hope I helped! Dusk
//edit: also tell me if i missed anyone!
I agree that the bonus should stay. It's a good way for people who join later in the game to catch up.
@Dusksong@Lugubrious I'd actually be willing to take on quite a bit of responsibility here. Personally, I find opening posts useful, but it depends what everyone else wants. A doc would also work.
There's always the option of updating our character sheets with trainer points, but that might be too much hassle to do every time we post, and we need to keep track of things like CPs too.
@luckyblackcat Sounds good :) Agree with the CS update being too much of a hassle. You could totally make the second post a replica of Balthazar's. I don't think anyone would object, although I'd like to get Balthazar's opinion on that before we go through with it. He's not exactly quitting the RP; just reworking it so that it doesn't need a sole person taking care of everything. So, I was thinking it'd be best to set it up in such a way that it's not, although if there's no better option having an opening post would be awesome :)
Maybe someone could set up a doc or something to edit as well? Google doc that lets everyone edit. Everything's recorded in the history so if we get trolls we can just refresh, and if we're really afraid of someone messing it up we can make a certain person in charge of it or just share it with everyone here specifically.
The bonus I'm willing to fight for xD It's only twice a month and lets people move forward at a steady pace that allows for solo posting like how I'm doing with Shanae.
//edit: Oh! As a side thought: now that Balth is trying to allow everyone more independence with posting, would it be okay to post with more than two characters per post? I'm currently the only one with three, but still xD
Lore: Adriana City rests to the Far East of Central City, residing next to the coast. It is a popular city to both who reside and tourist as it has many shopping centers and is higher tech then most places. Self moving walkways, robotic assistants and trash cans that will assist in picking up any litter, elevators and escalators to travel different levels and so on. It's far large and can be easy to get lost in, luckily there are plenty of maps everywhere.
The city has three layers, the bottom being the more transit area for trains and cars as well as homes for the less fortunate, the middle having resorts, amusement parks, the warm sunny beach and the like as well as homes for common people, and the top having the shopping centers, wealthy business's and wealthy homes. A popular place to shop is at Azure Corp, where beautiful gems and jewelry are sold.
Downside is, quite a lot of things are a bit on the pricy side.
Pokemon often do not show themselves often around here, but they still live amongst the bustling city folk occasionally. Water Pokemon often play in the coast of the sea, some beach goers often able to spot them playing in the water. The electric Pokemon can often be found around the powerplants, or the amusement park.

Many many years ago, before this grand city was so big and advanced, it was said the area was guarded by two Pokemon who protected the city from disaster. Legend tells that if the city should ever fall into near destruction again, the guardians Latios and Latias will return. But that is just a myth.

Nothing at the moment.
Looks good, but uh, You can't have Latios and Latias in the same city. When Bal told me how to make a new location, he said that groups of Legendaries, like Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza can't be grouped into the same city.

Awe whoops, I'll change it to a different one then xD
@silver fox Um so actually I don't think the city should have a legendary. Here's Balthazar's guide for locations, and I'm assuming that you're making a "Big City?" So you get 12 Pokemart items and four Pokemon types. No legendaries. I think it makes more sense to have legendaries avoid cities as they're kinda... yeah. But, we can suggest some edits to this system if need be?
Metropolis: Two Pokemon Types; 0 Mythical/Legendary Pokemon; 15 Regular Poke Mart Items; 3 Special Items Big City: Four Pokemon Types; 0 Mythical/Legendary Pokemon; 12 Regular Poke Mart Items; 2 Special Items Small City: Six Pokemon Types; 1 Mythical/Legendary Pokemon; 9 Regular Poke Mart Items; 1 Special Items Township: Eight Pokemon Types; 2 Mythical/Legendary Pokemon; 6 Regular Poke Mart Items; 0 Special Items Village: Ten Pokemon Types; 3 Mythical/Legendary Pokemon; 3 Regular Poke Mart Items; 0 Special Items
Perhaps switch to a "small city" to keep most of your ideas? Just reqork the description and cut down on items; I rather like the location as a whole, but everyone's to follow this system that Balth put forth for now unless changed sooo
//edit: this is an excerpt from an early conversation between Balthazar and @luckyblackcat, which he sent to me over PM when I was getting my own location approved. I believe if you scroll back far enough, you will be able to find it in the OOC chat as well :)

It's alright I'll just cut out the legendary bit and some types :) and make it a Metropolis. The idea is that the city is supposed to be absolutely huge. So yeah. And I didn't know the rules till now soooo *snip snip*
@silver fox Eep thanks! The location's great otherwise.
@lugubrious I count 7 types and 8 items. Townships are marked to have 8 types and 6 items--are you replacing the missing type with two extra items? I think that's allowed, although when I tried making a location like that Balth suggested that I change it... What do you think? I'd totally be okay with it :)
@zarkun Haha Entei's a dog... I'm pretty sure, 'cuz they're the legendary trio of dogs, I think (Someone back me up 0_0). Other than that everything looks fine. Love the type variety! Looks good otherwise, I give it my stamp of approval :)
Haha does everyone like the system Balth devised? Any suggestions for edits? I can't think of any myself, but it's open for debate :)
@Silver FoxLooks good—and there might be some juicy story coming up given your character's bio!
Also, yes. Yes there are xD

Indeed, they are known as the three legendary dogs. (Although they look like a mix between dog and cat)
@lugubrious Here's the two messages on the topic Balth sent me:
The biggest decision that you will have to make is the size of your location. Actually, this is more like the size of the human settlement within your location (since a location is made up of the human settlement and the surrounding areas). The five location sizes are as follows:
Metropolis; Big City; Small City; Township; Village
Your choice of location size will directly effect two factors: The number of Pokemon types available in your location; The number of items available in your Poke Mart. This also affects how many mythical/legendary Pokemon that you can find as well as the number special items that are available at the Poke Mart. Read the breakdown below to grasp this concept:
Metropolis: Two Pokemon Types; 0 Mythical/Legendary Pokemon; 15 Regular Poke Mart Items; 3 Special Items Big City: Four Pokemon Types; 0 Mythical/Legendary Pokemon; 12 Regular Poke Mart Items; 2 Special Items Small City: Six Pokemon Types; 1 Mythical/Legendary Pokemon; 9 Regular Poke Mart Items; 1 Special Items Township: Eight Pokemon Types; 2 Mythical/Legendary Pokemon; 6 Regular Poke Mart Items; 0 Special Items Village: Ten Pokemon Types; 3 Mythical/Legendary Pokemon; 3 Regular Poke Mart Items; 0 Special Items
When choosing your Mythical/Legendary Pokemon for your location, they must obviously have their type(s) covered by the location's typing. Also, you may not have multiple Mythical/Legendary Pokemon that are originally part of a group together (e.g. Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza).
When "choosing" your special items, you are actually creating them with my help. I can make suggestions if you like, or you can bounce ideas off of me. We will do this until we come up with a special item that adds value to this RP and satisfies you as the item creator. Small Cities will have one "Skilled" special item. Big Cities will have one "Skilled" special item and one "Expert" special item. And as you may guess, Metropolises will have one "Skilled", one "Expert, and one "Master" special item.
I will work on a complete list of all the Regular Items for you to choose from as soon as I have the chance. Those will basically be adapted from the handheld games. You will be allowed to change which normal items your Poke Mart keeps in stock whenever, so long as you don't actually change the total number of different items.
Reply to this PM with your draft and any questions that you may have.
Thanks!
that post was copy and pasted from when I was talking with LuckyBlackCat. So if it doesn't sound like I am personally talking to you, that's why. All the information you'll need is right there though.
Instead of "Location Type: Mountain Range" you would be choosing Location Size: (Township / Village). I can picture this place being home to a tiny village at the mountain's base.
And no, I'd rather not have a rank limitation on any locations.
Thanks!
I think I flipped back and found the post, but this should definitely be an addition to the opening post or whatever form of it we end up going with.
