@Yuuta: I'm a bit concerned about his ability to interact with everyone given his tendencies, unless I get enough villainous characters to split the group. I'll also note that "Free Will" is kind of irrelevant to include as a special ability here since everyone has it. ^^;
@Afro Samurai: Okays, in that case accepted. I don't have an issue with fully immortal characters, even, there just has to be some way to beat them that's not extremely specific or something.
As an addition, I've decided to up the number of player characters to three, mostly because I think it'll make it easier on people trying to decide by not forcing people to pick only two. When you've got another slot, even if you don't fill it, it means you always could if you want so choosing gets a bit easier. ^^;
Edit: Also, list up to date.
Edit: Also also one of the other admittedly selfish reasons I wanted to add a third character slot. ^^;
Name: Misaka Mikoto
Universe: Toaru Kagaku no Railgun/Toaru Majutsu no Index
Personality: Most people who do not personally know the Third-Ranked Level Five would naturally assume her to be someone high-class and refined. After all, she goes to Tokiwadai and has such a high level of power, right? This is perhaps why many people do not recognize her, as the real Misaka Mikoto is a friendly and relaxed person who doesn't have a problem talking to most people. She's also rather short-tempered, however, and possesses a sharp competitive streak that often results in excitement when she sees she's up against a challenge or a strong foe. She's also rather proud of herself, and at the same time quite childish. In spite of her tomboyish attitude, she loves childish, cute things, especially the children's mascot character Gekota. The frog draws her attention at all times. She is rather possessive of her Gekota merchandise. At the same time, Mikoto is tries to hide her love of such things, finding it rather embarrassing when people notice. The Electric Princess of Tokiwadai has a heroic bent to her personality. When there's trouble, she tries to help out as best she can. However, she also seems to have trouble asking for help when she has problems. Thankfully for Mikoto and all her friends, recent events have lead to her remembering how willing to help they all are.
Powers/Skills: As the strongest Electromaster and Third-ranked Level Five Esper of Academy City, Mikoto naturally exerts a great deal of power and fine control in relation to her abilities.
Offensively, the fact that she is referred to as "Railgun" is rather indicative of her capabilites. But before that, she has other options. She can fire electricity at her opponents, channel it through objects or her body, and general use electricity in a variety of different ways. Should this be ineffective, she can electromagnetically manipulate metal objects and use them as bludgeons or projectiles. If there is a high concentration of iron in the sand nearby, like there is in many areas of Academy City, she can draw it out and manipulate it to form a chainsaw-like offensive weapon. Of course, there is also Mikoto's Railgun. Replicating the effects of the actual weapon with her electromagnetic capabilities, Mikoto launches projectiles at Mach 3(at least). The usual ammunition is an arcade coin that disintergrates, giving the railgun limited range. However, any metal is theoretically an option, though larger objects are obviously more straining to use. Mikoto holds back against most opponents, for the obvious reason of not wanting to kill anyone.
Defensively she can use metal to shield herself, and no electrical attack is of any use against her. She can also use metal objects to dodge by pulling herself towards them, or even stick to the walls or ceiling and walk on them as long as there is metal close enough to the surface. This allows her a high amount of maneuverability.
As a utility, Mikoto is capable of hacking anything that is electronic. She can infiltrate databases through terminals, or shock commands into machines and robots. She can also remove herself from surveillance in such a manner.
Mikoto's abilities are not without their downsides. She can tire out, and going overboard can cause blackouts in the surrounding area. She is also not physically very strong and has no idea how to fight beyond her Esper power, besides dodging and running. Unless you count vending machine kicks.
Brief Bio: After participation in various incidents, including one that hit extremely close to home and one particularly recent one, Mikoto is still the kind of person who will help solve trouble wherever she can.
Equipment: Mikoto carries a a large number of arcade coins as ammunition, as well as a few other items of no particular note, such as a cell phone.
@VitaVitaAR Ok... so if Aku is really not on the list, suppose I bring this character along from the same Universe, only that he once worked for him. (At least one more character is coming in, maybe two idk, Im working on it)
Scaramouche
"Let's dance! You won't last a second against me, babe!"
Name: Scaramouche The Merciless ("Aku's Favorite Assassin")
Universe: Samurai Jack Universe
Appearance: Scaramouche is an android who wears a black straw hat, yellow scarf, red high-heel boots, a long purple coat with red interior, and a large black belt. He also has teal eyes, a fully-functional mouth with teeth, and a dark-red tongue. He is about 6'2" in height.
Personality: Scaramouche is often described as a sly and homicidal psychopath who can do unspeakable actions just to draw attention to him (Like massacring an entire town of innocent people in order to draw Samurai Jack's attention). He is also very boastful, arrogant and talkative, who happens to have the tendency to call anyone he meets as babe or baby, even to his boss, Aku. However, he isn't quite as bad as many make him out to be, at least currently. With his death and resurrection in the new realm, he has become slightly more humble, but nevertheless keeps most of his attributes. He is also very determined to get things done and isn't afraid to cut in deals to help both him and the other person. Of course, that doesn't mean he may break the deal, provided the circumstances.
Powers/Skills:
Musical Telekinesis: Using a "magic" flute, Scaramouche can levitate objects and create golems to fight opponents. When the flute is destroyed, he can continue to levitate objects by scatting, indicating this power comes from his voice and the flute merely amplifies his ability, since he only needs to control his sword through his voice. His power depends on his vocal chords, and he becomes helpless when his neck gets damaged, nullifying the ability.
Swordsmanship: Scaramouche is a master sword fighter, easily holding his own against even the experienced Samurai Jack, and carries multiple blades on his person, including a heavy scimitar and a special "tuning sword" that destroys objects on contact.
Enhanced Speed and Agility: Scaramouche is remarkably agile. He is also able to leap tall structures in a single bound.
Durability: Despite being once cleaved and beheaded by Jack, Scaramouche survived his encounter and is able to continue functioning despite no longer having a body, a feat that most other robots in his realm can't do.
Body-Takeover: As a head, Scaramouche has the ability to take over the body of any organism as long as his head is placed on the neck area of the body.
Water-proof: it is shown that his electronic circuits are water-proof since he cannot be electrocuted or getting short-circuited while floating in the water surface, despite his entire neck are exposed with electronic circuit. His head can also float while in water.
Brief Bio: During Aku's reign, Scaramouche the Merciless worked for the Master Of Darkness as one of his assassins, apparently being his #1 most favorite. After Aku ordered him to kill the Samurai, the android massacred an entire village to draw his attention. When he discovered that the Samurai lost his magic sword/katana, which is one of the only weapons capable of harming Aku, he mocked the samurai as he proceeds to contact his boss. But before he could tell him the news, Jack forced him into a heated battle across the ruined village. Despite the android having initially gotten the upper hand, he was unfortunately defeated as the Samurai cleaved him in half, resulting in an explosion.
Yet despite this, Scaramouche survived the attack, only having been incapacitated. Regardless, he was able to talk and move, prompting him to find his way to Aku's place in order to tell him that Samurai Jack had lost his sword. However, due to some very unexpected and unfortunate events, it took the android several days before finally reaching to Aku and tells him the news. As a reward, his body had been restored and the two confront Samurai Jack and his newfound partner Ashi. However, both were unaware that the Samurai had recovered his sword, so when he 'whipped it out', Scaramouche tries to explain he didn't have it when he last saw him before Aku furiously blasted his head, this time destroying him for good... or so the Master Of Darkness thought.
Somehow, Scaramouche was able to wake up, only that he wasn't in his own realm anymore, yet his head was still attached to his body. Now he explores this new place and tries to find a way back to his own.
Equipment:
Magical Flute: Scaramouche can use a magical flute to levitate objects and create golems to fight opponents.
Tuning Blade: Scaramouche has a special blade that has the ability to vibrate at a frequency powerful enough to shatter most metallic blades and other solid objects.
Various Blades: Scaramouche also has other various blades on him, including a heavy scimitar and other daggers.
Phone: Scaramouche has a pink phone that can be used to call anyone from his contacts, including his boss Aku. However, since arriving in the new realm, all of his contacts have been erased.
Actually I totally forgot to ask this, what kind of effect do you expect the different ammo types to have if it comes to players?
Incendiary Ammo: Weapon causes fire damage to enemies, burning through armor and setting them on fire. This stops health regeneration, and can cause unprotected sentient organic enemies to panic. Synthetic enemies are resistant to fire damage.
Disruptor Ammo: Weapon is empowered by an electric field that causes additional damage to shields. The ammo also deals increased damage to synthetic enemies and adds a chance to temporarily disable them. In addition, the ammo has a chance to overheat enemy weapons thereby disabling them.
Cryo Ammo: Weapon is empowered and has a chance of freezing enemies without any special defenses for a short time, preventing them from moving. Frozen enemies are more susceptible to damage and can even be shattered for an instant kill. Weakens armor and decreases movement speed.
Armor-Piercing Ammo: Does extra damage against armor and against unprotected enemies. Shoot through light cover to hit enemies.
I mean in terms of, um... first off that's a little too game mechanic-y for this RP, and I meant in terms of, um, what would you expect a cryo round to do to another player character?
I would expect a person who was shot with a cryo round to possibly freeze for a short time which would prevent them from moving. If they froze they would be more susceptible to damage and possibly shattered. If they aren't frozen the cold would Weaken any armor armor and slow them down.
