Appearance:
Name: John Clarke
Race: Human
Magic/Abilities/Equipment: While John does posses magical abilities, they aren't very conventional. John has only ever utilized his magic ability to enchant weapons and armor while crafting them. John is not a very skilled fighter though he had spent his life making weapons and armor for real fighters to use. He isn't useless in a fight however as he does show some skill as he does practice with every weapon he makes to ensure it will be a useful weapon. He is also a capable tailor and well versed in construction and engineering.
His equipment is suitable though not the best. His leather clothes as silk vest are well made and enchanted against wear and tear. John also carries a steel short sword. Though this sword is not magical, it is well crafted. His left glove is also magical in that it can discharge magical energy into a small explosion though if he is not careful, he could get caught in the blast. he also carries simple tools for sword and armor smithing as well as for tailoring.
Personality: John is a calm and reserved individual most of the time. He ca also be considered simple in that he works to perfect his craft and not much else. He only wants to continue his work and can seem annoyed when something interrupts his work. Despite this, John is rather kind if not slightly off putting because of his poker face. In truth, John does invite conversation, his only worry is that his knowledge on other topics is limited and he doesn't want to viewed as one dimensional and boring. Most people only approach John when asking for his work and it was no different then when he met Bart. John also gets nervous around monsters as he has never actually encountered them up close before. This can cause him to slightly off put by them though this wouldn't stop him from talking to them if they approached him.
Background: John grew up in a small town under a blacksmith. John showed talent in smithing and quickly became an apprentice. He spent most of his time practicing his craft and never really thought about much else. John never did much else in his small town aside from helping to build houses for citizens and making weapons and armor for the town guard. He spent years doing this until he was 16. It was then that some traveling adventures acknowledged his skill and asked he planed to leave the small town to expand his knowledge. John was hesitant with the idea but was eventually convinced. He gathered up his things and left town with that group in hopes to expand his skill and craft.
After leaving town, John spent several years with the adventures he met. It wasn't until he was 20 years old that he found himself leaving the group to move under the apprenticeship of an actually smithing guild. John made quite the name for himself while working under the guild. The support of that guild allowed him to access varies degrees of techniques to enhance his own skills. John spent 8 years under the membership of the guild until he believed it limited him. He left hoping to find new techniques and skills to enhance his abilities. It wasn't until he found himself alone that he would be approached by Bart.
Four years after John left his guild, Bart approached him with an invitation to another one. John had made a name for himself and Bart had recognized his skill to forge various types of armor and weapons. john was once again hesitant to join Bart and asked him what wold be different between his guild and the one John left years ago. Bart simply told him to join him and find out. John took some time to think about it and finally decided to gather his things hoping that his new chapter would once again expand his knowledge and craft.
As for my favorite monster, I didn't know this even existed so quick google search made me happy I did it in incognito mode.
On a first look, the Tsurara-onna looks kinda cool. The icicles growing out of it look pretty cool.
