@KOgaming He is approved but he would not have passed his trials at this point. Most Aedis do not even take their trials until they are 21 and many do not pass until later.

Now what about the issue of like being too drain happy in general?

There are consequences for every drain. Earth for example draining power from a tree (depending on the age and size) may cause the fruit to wither, or for it to no longer be able to produce fruit and in large power drains would kill the tree. Aedis are connected with their element and would feel shame and/or sorrow out of killing something they took power from.

For example, Iris would rather use power from her own life force and get a headache or nosebleed than to permanently harm something of the Earth.

I don't know but I kept on imagining if a light Aedis drains all the light from the sun...It would black it out, and everybody would die due to it............That shame would be so unbearable that he would kill himself for it

So Air draining would result in 0 oxygen and if drawing too much the area it effects will expand and will eventually include the area around the Air Aedis who would then die.

Light draining is strange in that say you drain light from a camp fire, you would eventually snuff out the flame and if you did it too quickly, the fire would never be able to be lit again (without getting new wood etc). If you were to drain from a star it would have disastrous consequences if overdone as it would alter the ability for that star (like our sun) to support life on other planets and could even cause the star to implode. Light Aedis are warned to avoid drawing power from sources such as stars for that reason.

But wouldn't the energy the sun gives off be ludicrously immense? Realistically, just the light energy that touches our Earth is enough to power our entire modern civilisation a hundred times over. Compared to the amount of energy produced by a campfire, I have a hard time imagining any amount of Aedis would ever even approach the limit of what the sun is capable of producing. If they can though, that would make Light Aedis horrifyingly powerful. A suicidal Light Aedis would be able to wipe out all life on Earth.

Yeah. The majority of the solar system is the sun so I'd imagine it'd be super powerful. Not to mention it's also far away so I can't imagine a wizard being able to draw energy from them very easily. Better than just being a spirit bomb, you might want to limit power-draining using distance. Power might also come from emotional investment for instance a stuffed toy that someone's had since childhood might be more powerful than a new doll just sitting on the shelf no one in particular cares about.

Not explanations, just suggestions.

@KOgaming I like your suggestion and think I will use that instead. Light Aedis can draw power from the sun but due to the distance it would be slow. They will have an added benefit of being able to draw power when not doing other things but it will take days of constant draining to get their crystal filled like that. A light Aedis would not be able to draw power from the sun and do other things like fight, the distance will make it that they require concentration.

As for other Aedis, it is only fair that distance apply to them as well.

What about Dark and Ice? After all, darkness and cold aren't really energies but rather the lack of energy. Does drawing /darkness/ make it brighter? Does drawing /cold/ make it hotter?

No, drawing darkness doesn't cause light. There's a while debate about it a few pages back (pg. 3) I think. As for cold, I'm not sure. Since fire has to draw from actual fire and not just heat though, I assume it would be the same for I've ice and cold.

Background/Personality: Ixa was born to an incredibly mundane family. Growing up he was a mischievous headstrong kid. Eventually he'd make his way to the academy. As he grew up he matured become laidback and , but he has a drive to him propelling him in practicing and learning his abilities. His practice and experimentation has lead to develop his own trick with ice which with even more trial and error to improve it.

Although he maintains a cordial relation with the people he has the most interactions with, he oddly hasn't really made any sorts of friends. Acquaintances sure, but not friends in any meaningful sense. Some might speculate it that he's just been sucked into his studies and practice and thus cut himself off from contact. Truth be told he just hasn't found himself compelled to hang around anyone too strongly. He does his own thing and is more or less passing the time until the trials starts which looks forward to successfully completing.
