Sophia Harris

Location: Ville au Camp: Kitchen House
Skills: Sense Acuity

Her head was ringing like mad, when she watched James getting into a cabinet door seeing the container full of cotton balls. "Thank you James.." Sophia said, as she felt Bart coming over and grabbing her hand. She went to sit down on the chair that was closest to her, and Alexandra saying the same exact thing that Bart said. "My damn head feels like it's going to explode." Sophia said softly as she moved over and started grab four of the cotton balls putting two in her nose, and two in both of her ears, Sophia closed her eyes letting out a soft sigh as it helped somewhat. She eyed the three others that were in the room with her. She watched the one who introduced himself as Gio started to walk out of the room, and headed to whatever it was that was happening.

Her attention turned towards the others Sophia had a feeling that she looked pretty stupid with cotton balls sticking out of her nose and ears. But at this point she really didn't care, she felt a little bit of relief now, she leaned back in the seat eyeing the food that was there. She shuddered slightly what they all tasted now, she still could taste the remains of what she had eaten a few minutes ago. "Thank you for the help." Sophia said rubbing the back of her neck. "Where is everyone else anyway?" She finally asked looking a bit confused, and still a little bit disoriented.

Nancy Parker & Andromeda Aldrich

Location: Ville au Camp: Road Heading Towards Servants Quarters
Skills: None

While Alicia's bedside manner could use some work, Andromeda got the message from both her and Eve rather clearly - she needed to calm herself. She made herself look away from the grisly scene and take a few centering breaths, attempting to put herself back in the memory of stargazing. But rather than the relative ease from a few moments ago, it was additionally challenging. Each time she felt like she had done it and found calm, vivid flashes of the bodies and such came back to her. She pinched her arm slightly and continued to take in deep breaths, until she was finally able to hold that feeling of calm without thinking about the blood.

Nancy locked eyes with George, knowing there was relatively little she could say that could comfort him. She knew exactly what had happened - and beyond being able to relate some with what had happened to Drem, there wasn't much advice she could give. As long a life as she had lived, she didn't know everything. And she certainly didn't want to know everything - it would take the randomness and chaos out of life, depriving it of its beauty. "Scrapbooking?" Nancy offered, her voice quiet and low. She knew it was one of George's hobbies and it partnered well with her skill in photography. For a moment, she considered offering to pose him and Peter - at one point in human history, photographs and portraits were done with the recently deceased. But it was too soon - too fresh. Whatever George needed to take his mind off of things, however he needed to process it, that's what they'd do.

"Gio, would you mind undoing these cuffs?" Nancy then asked, not bothering to explain herself to anyone else. Truthfully, she was also starting to become a bit irritated by the restriction in motion. It had made running here from the main house a bit of a challenge in balance and if she had to do a reading, it'd be a pain. She hadn't been especially close with Peter, yet it still pained her to see one of their own lying prone. Sure, he had been a bit stuffy - but so was Eve. And even Gio on occasion.

Andromeda gravitated over towards Alicia and Faith, sensing that Eve would have her hands full for the time being. The two that had just arrived - they weren't new Paradoxes. She felt certain of it. In that moment, she felt the gravity of the entire situation - and realized just how much training they would need. Whatever they were up against, it was deadly and cruel. She glanced at Alicia for a moment, wondering just what kept the Destruere from entering the grounds - but she decided to hold her question for now. They had just lost someone. It didn't seem like the time or place.

Faith Masters

Location: Road To Servant's Quarters
Skills: N/A

So these...things caused this to happen? Considering the state of the bodies, it was like rabid animals attacked them. However, the wounds were human in nature. Whatever these Destruere were, they were deadly. Faith watched as Evelina comforted one of the men and Gio, who came up behind them, was called in to help. Faith wondered if the other man was going to die also. She wanted to ask questions, poke and prod them, because now they were all flung into this mess. Called here to use whatever powers were given them to handle these things so scenes like this didn't happen.

How the fuck were they going to do that?

In a moment of weakness, most likely, Faith walked over to Alicia, "Is there anything I can do to help?" No she hadn't been body swapped. Faith felt like now was not the time to be a bitch (a rare occasion). They had to get this sorted out and, she hoped, her questions would be answered afterward.

Gilbert Summers, "The Hat"

Location: Ville au Camp (Road Heading Towards Servants Quarters)
Skills: N/A

For whatever reason, Gilbert was especially aware of the smaller details of his surroundings. Every exasperated look, every out of place hair on the Paradoxes and Emendators present, even the odd frequency of the unnaturally summoned wind whipping about him. The whole ordeal seemed to have brought out the majority of the household, who showed the appropriate emotions of the hour; shock, confusion, grief, concern. Thankfully, having to haul back the mutilated body of a friend was not a commonplace occurrence at sunny Ville au Camp. It wasn't the first time though, he noted dully.

Gilbert's steps slowed as he neared the knot of people around the fallen Peter. For a second, he wondered why he was even running in the first place. It wasn't like he could do anything about the unhappy inevitabilities of death. He could not knit wounds nor bring the enigmatic spark of life back to the lifeless. In this way he was helpless. A soldier, not a worker of miracles. The most he could do now was just as Evelina requested of him, and bring his mundane abilities to bear. "Yeah, Evie." he said in a quiet voice, unbuttoning his shirt. He quickly stripped himself down to the waist and tucked his clothing into the back of his belt. With the shake of his head, Gilbert hoisted up Peter's body and began to carry him back up the way he had come. His gait was slower, head bowed underneath his lightly distressed fedora. Gilbert turned his head back to address Evelina as he walked, "Where shall I place him, when we get there?"

James Grady

Location: Ville au Camp - Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

It was an odd thing, watching someone he knew in a previous life jam cotton balls into various places about her face and head. "Yeah. You welcome, girl." He tried hard not to let the situation color his voice, but it was another weird thing in a day that was easily the weirdest frigging day of his life. Or non-life, afterlife, near death, whatever. And that said something, coming from a timeline with an undead uprising. At least there, you knew where you stood in the grand scheme of things. This? Sophia just got smacked with something that required her to fill her head holes with absorbent plant fibers to function normally. James was just waiting for the hand of God to smack him with gills or something. Maybe he'd gain the ability to fart rainbows or line dance like a real country music star. That'd be something.

So far, the whole life after death thing was confusing and irritating at the same time. James shook his head, still partly expecting to wake up any second now. But until he did, he might as well run with it. "Yeah girl, what them two was sayin' 'bout the roll slowin'. Just you set y'self down. Maybe I'll get you a water? Sound good?" Yup, that was the answer to everything. Sit down, have a glass of water. Or tea, this being the south and all. Wait, that probably wasn't a bad idea, actually. "How 'bout tea? Tea work? Imma put a pot on. They gotta have teabags in here someplace..."

It took James a few seconds before he realized a question was asked of him, this by the Russian girl who had also just come back from the dead. He looked at her as if the object of his search should have been obvious. "Cotton balls, o'course Miss." He probably didn't realize that the sundry, quite household in his own lifetime, was not as ubiquitous elsewhere and in different eras.

Giosue Zino

Location: Road leading to the Abandoned House
Skills: N/A

There were many potential ideas that filled Giosue's head on the way to meet up with the group, unfortunately, the very limited amount of options presented by the vast number of unknown factors made it difficult for him to nail down one specific plan of action to suggest when he finally arrived. So far, all that was known as far as the capabilities of the new Paradoxes were concerned with was that they had a Sensor type (a rather potent one at that) and a weather controller. Both potentially highly useful in a trained state, but fresh presented more danger to the user than utility.

When he finally caught up and saw Peter's body, he merely pursed his lips. He knew exactly what he was going to see, but he still didn't like the sight of it. It wasn't so much a blow to the gut, but more akin to the pinch of an injection in a particularly sensitive spot of tissue, like the inside of the mouth or between the fingers. Highly unpleasant, but if you had to go through it enough, you grew accustomed to it. He remained silent until Nancy came up to him directly.

"I'm certain I left you with a spare key so you wouldn't have to rely on me," he responded, producing his personal copy of the key. "Did you lose it in the quarter hour I was away?" he chided, holding the Cards' hands still so he could undo the bindings.

Perhaps it would come off as cold hearted to the Paradoxes for him and Nancy to be speaking as casually as they were, but frankly, he didn't really care. Simply stewing in the morbid situation wouldn't help anyone, so he'd mostly act as he normally would. One thing he wouldn't do until Peter's body was put to rest; however, was try to initiate a discussion about their next course of action. This was a ritual that had to be completed, and rushing forward to the next task would be both disrespectful to the deceased and a matter of jumping the gun.

"So who might you be?" Gio asked Andromeda. She was the only one there he hadn't at least introduced himself to, and based on the winds he weathered getting here, chances were she was the weather manipulator causing all the racket. He had forgotten to introduce himself as the Watch, but she would probably be able to figure out his and Nancy's roles as the other two Emendators if she was paying any attention.

Alexandra Andonova

Off with the head, off with the head...
Paint the roses, paint the roses...
- "Mad as a Hatter" by Larkin Poe

Location: Ville au Camp - Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

Alexandra and Bart's conversation had seemed to come to a screeching halt, leaving questions hanging in the air unanswered. And yet, it wasn't because of the bloody chaos that was happening not far from where they stood. No, they were still unaware of that--gravelly unfortunate debacle. The two acquaintances were instead intently focused on whatever predicament had befallen their fellow Paradox Sophia. Alexandra glanced over at Bart as he came up beside her in a similarly concerned fashion. She ended up doing a double take when he basically uttered the same exact words she had just said. Well, minus the Russian accent, but you get the picture.

"Hey, I just said that!" she retorted, practically pointing a finger at Bart. However, her attention quickly returned to Sophia, a note of true concern in her dark brown eyes. "Head exploding, yeah, that's no good," she commented. "Is there something I can--" She was then left speechless, not an easy feat I might add, mid-speech as Sophia began stuffing cotton balls in different orifices of her face.

"Uhhh. Is that to keep the brain matter from seeping out of your head if it explodes? 'Cause I don't think that's hov it vorks," she stated dumbfounded. Nevertheless, she was still relieved to see that Sophia was beginning to feel better. How cotton balls achieved that end, she was skeptical at the moment. She glanced over at James wide-eyed. "Uh huh, sure," she murmured. She rubbed her temple with her fingers as she finally let out a small resigned sigh. Well, at least everything was back in working order. Or was it?

"You've been avfully quiet--" she commented, intending to address Gilbert. Yet when she turned around and her eyes scanned the room, she found that the big man had just up and vanished! "Vhat? Vhy? Hovvv does a giant like the Hat man just valk out of here vithout anyone noticing," she exclaimed. She let out a huff of exasperation before stomping her way towards the door.

Bart felt the oddest mix of confusion and curiosity as he gazed at Sophia putting cotton balls in practically any hole she could manage. He turned his head back to Alexandra for a second, and blinked when she pointed out that Gil had left. Not wanting to leave Sophia helpless, He raised his voice a tiny bit to make sure she could hear him, and asked, "I'm not sure where The Hat went actually... Do you want me to go get Lady Evelina?" He figured if anybody knew what was going on, it'd be her or some other Emendator, he just didn't have any idea where any of the other ones could be. He wasn't a doctor by any means, but even if he was, it wasn't that much of a leap in logic to assume this was somehow power based, since they'd just gotten her, and Eve explicitly said they couldn't get sick anymore.

If this was some kind of new superpower mumbo-jumbo, the state poor Sophia was currently in gave him some stronger context for the downside of these kind of abilities, which was certainly more worrisome than whatever was bad for Storm out there. This, of course, made him a tad bit less excited to get to his future of pretending to be a superhero. There really was no such thing as a free lunch, it seemed. First, it was the Destruere, whatever they were, and now it was freaking exploding head syndrome. Still better than being dead by a long shot, but worrisome in any case. Bart tucked these thoughts away for a moment, focusing on getting this girl back to normal. Bart took note from the other man with him, and grabbed a cup from the table, and poured out a glass of water for her. Bart brought it over to Sophia, and held it out in front of her, "You should drink something, might make you feel better?" He suggested.

Alicia Gonzalez

Location: Ville au Camp - Road Heading Towards Servants Quarters -> Running Down Road
Skills: Empathy

Alicia pushed her hair back out of her face and let out a frustrated huff. It sucked that Peter was dead. Losing anyone was never easy but it wasn't like the two of them were close. In fact they tended to be at odds with one another constantly. Alicia had never been refined enough for Peters tastes, even in a casual friendship sort of way. Her tendency to be a rough and tumble tom boy never had sat well with the Englishman. They didn't hate each other but they tended to keep their distances. Alicia had enjoyed being more vulgar than normal around him just to get a rise.

Granted it had always been in fun. George and her weren't on the best of terms either but that fine. They both seemed to respect each other and didn't try to push each others buttons. Plus they had spent a decent amount of time around each other when working in Gilberts mill. Yet the only one that really seemed to be able to talk to George was Nancy. They just seemed to drift towards each other.

Looking over at Faith, Alicia sighed a bit. "Not really. We should get back to the others. Fucking hell, I just need to give you and others a quick run down of shit. Nitty gritty like. After this, no reason to beat around the fucking bush anymore," she said towards Faith. She didn't like leaving the scene like this but it seemed like the Emendators had it under control.

Not to mention she had left Sophia and James back at the Kitchen house. Probably be better to get back to them and go over things. Alicia felt a slight tingle in her mind and a gut pull. "Yeah, we better get back, I think someones about to go hog wild..." she said before she started walking back towards the kitchen house and then broke out into a sprint again. They really needed a fucking golf cart to get around this place.

George hadn't said anything, not being able to take his eyes off Peter, well eye off Peter as he stood there covered in his friends blood. Slowly he looked back over towards Nancy as she spoke to him and he seemed to snap out of it some what. "Yes," he said before pulling out a handkerchief and starting to clean up his hands. There was a brief moment as he contemplated to himself and then looked back over towards each of the Emendators there. "I... I have to go back. Clean up. Too much left open and unanswered... Mmm... Need to clean up the mess," he said. It wasn't in reference to anything physical but the rest of the mess that Peter had left behind. Vera and Reginald. That had to be dealt with.

Evelina Lucas

Location: Ville au Camp - Road Heading Towards Servants Quarters
Skills: Administration, Diplomacy, Memory Training, History

Evelina let Gilbert take Peter from her before stepping back. It was a good thing she had chosen such a dark shade of blue for today, it merely shimmered in the light of the sun instead of screaming blood stains. yet on her pale hands it nearly leapt out. "Please, take him to his quarters until a grave can be dug. We will lay him to rest near the swamps shore. He did so enjoy sitting there and reading. Under the Willow near the east bank." Her voice was calm and even as she spoke, it was as if nothing ever got to the woman. Yet that was far from the truth.

Gio seemed to be speaking to Andromeda now, Nancy was there and speaking with George. Alicia had run off after talking to Faith. So much was happening. This was why she detested bringing in a slew of new Paradoxes at once. It was all so much to deal with yet it could not be helped right then. They still had to push forward. Taking a breath she nodded towards Nancy and George.

"Yes, a clean up is rightly needed in Cairo, post haste. Cover story for Peter, you would need to remain for some time to ensure that certain people are convinced and it is laid to rest. Not to mention we do need a reconnaissance team to find out what those vile creatures are doing in Cairo just now." Once again her voice was clam and even yet there was a hint of firmness to it.

"Let us tend to the new arrivals and the fallen. Then we can speak of what comes next," she suggested as she stood there. Taking a deep breath she turned to Andromeda. "Do you wish to remain with Gio here or would you care to come with me? I do need to change and clean up."

Sophia Harris

Location: Ville au Camp: Kitchen House

Sophia looked towards Alexandra for a moment, and shook her head slightly. "It's just a figure of speech, I have a really bad headache right no." Sophia said simply as she leaned forward taking a deep breath, everything seemed to be dying down now she wasn't smelling any strong scents or tastes currently. She looked up at Bart and James, and gave them a slight smile when Bart filled a glass of water to her gently taking it with her one hand. She looked down at it for a moment, Sophia wasn't sure if it would suddenly make her pass out or vomit from the taste of water. "No tea for me, water will be just fine." Sophia said towards James as she took a very small sip from the glass, it tasted normally at least to her.

Her head as well seemed to finally be clearing up, and going back to normal, she slowly started to take out one of the cotton balls that was in her ear. She waited for a moment to be bombarded with a lot of sound, but it never came, Sophia then removed the other one out of her other ear. She started to feel a lot better now as Sophia then took out the two cotton balls that she had stuffed into her nose setting it aside on the table. "It seems to have stopped now." Sophia said smiling happily now to herself looking over at the others in the room.

Faith merely gave a small nod at Alicia. She was out of her comfort zone with this. Helping people. Ugh. Who wanted to do that? Still, if she was to be doing this as her "job" she may as well give it some effort. Especially if it meant she got to see what her powers were! Oh she hoped she had something badass!

Her thoughts came back to the scene as she saw Alicia start to walk back and then quickly run. It seemed best to follow her. After all, they had to let the others know what happened and bring everyone up to speed. She left the others to deal with the dead person. She quickly followed Alicia, doing her best to keep pace.

As she ran, she began thinking about all of it. These...Destruere...were obviously dangerous, given the scene she just witnessed. But she was used to destructive things. The Walkers tended to be dangerous and they didn't have a brain. The randomness of their actions, their basic instinct to attack and get what they desire despite all things, did that make them less dangerous? Or more? Either way, she was sure she had some kind of leg up in this. Hopefully, with training and work, she would be the best damn Paradox these mofos have ever seen!

Nancy Parker & Andromeda Aldrich

Location: Ville au Camp: Road Heading Towards Servants Quarters
Skills: None

Nancy shot Giouse a bit of a look - she wasn't the most socially adept of the Emendators nor the most observant, but was this really the time and place? And of course, she did feel slightly irritated to have Giouse point out her absentmindedness. She had been more focused on making sure that her friend was alright and the thought that the cuff keys had been left with her had escaped her mind. And while normally the ribbing wouldn't bother her too much, she felt her forgetfulness was justified in this situation. "Mm, you know how I am, Gio. It shouldn't be surprising you anymore," Nancy said.

She then nodded at George. There was a lot they'd need to take care of - and not only would George need to go back to Egypt, but someone would need to accompany him. "I'll go with you - it'll be fun. Proper holiday. I can pose as your cousin or fiancé or something," Nancy suggested, trying to lighten the mood. Her fake identities usually ended up having the most success when she traveled with someone, anyways. With the proper attire and make-up, she could pass for early twenties - maybe even mid on a good day - but it kept her limited in identities to claim. When out with Giouse, if the subject ever came up she usually said that she was his granddaughter.

Andromeda recognized Giouse from the description that Alicia had given her earlier - he was one of the pranksters. There was something odd going on between him and the young looking Emendator, but she didn't feel like it was her place to judge. Mythology usually had some pretty weird family dynamics and relationships - this place didn't seem to be much of an exception. "Andromeda," she replied, extending a hand. She was still a bit shaken from everything - her own death, her abilities, and now the gruesome scene in front of her. She wasn't acting quite like herself - not yet, anyways. Maybe the next day, but for now, she had hidden inside a bit of a protective outer exterior.

She hesitated slightly at Eve's offer. While she could remain with Giouse or go with Eve, she felt that she'd be imposing on them either way. Eve needed to change and clean up - having a Paradox around her asking questions likely wouldn't help there. And with the death that had just occurred, she was fairly certain that Giouse had things to attend to as well. "I can help you, if you need it...I don't really mind who I stay with either way."

Giosue Zino

Location: Road leading to the Abandoned House
Skills: N/A

Giosue looked over his shoulder at the two women as they ran back to the kitchen house. Really, what was with all the running? A few minutes more wasn't likely to make that much of a difference either way. Sure, new Paradoxes were like easily confused toddlers: prone to accident and not really cognizant of their actions, but they were still fully grown adults who didn't need perpetual supervision. If something was going to go wrong, being all sweaty and out of breath for it wouldn't help out.

"Patience Nancy, that's all part of what comes next," he didn't want to come off as being some sort of authoritarian parental figure constantly fussing over Nancy, but sometimes that might as well be what he was. For the time being, they needed to keep some semblance of control and focus on properly seeing to Peter being put to rest. If such a thing were possible for him at this point. Furthermore, he didn't think that George really needed as someone as chaotic as the Cards with him as he tried to covertly wrap up all the loose ends from his mission, but that could be spoken later, once they were at such a point to discuss.

"Andromeda." Gio repeated her name, feeling how it felt in his mouth, trying his best to emulate the way she spoke her own label. Tentatively, he took her hand and shook it, all the while looking straight into Andromeda's eyes for a second longer than comfortable. In a way it was like he looked past them, as if he was trying to peer into her mind and judge what kind of person she was. When he finally broke off the eye contact, he continued walking as if nothing had happened.

"If you really are fine with either, you should remain with us. This could be a learning experience for you," he replied to Andromeda. Her passive indecisiveness was irritating him, but he gave her some slack given the current situation. If she couldn't have the conviction to make a definite answer on her own, he would give her encouragement in the way that would be least likely to cause more incidents. Whatever she decided, they should be nearly at the place, and they would be able to bury their friend's body before getting onto business.

Gilbert Summers, "The Hat"

Location: Ville au Camp (Road Heading Towards Servants Quarters)
Skills: N/A

Gilbert wasn't really the "taking orders" type of person generally, even if Evelina was the type of person to give them. This instance was different, though. Mortality tended to do this with people, he found out, even himself. "Yeah. Yeah, his room." he said quietly, nodding in the general direction of Evelina. "Such a waste." He meant it, too. Another warrior, from a noble family no less, of relation to a man who was (for his time) a legendary soldier himself. He had spirit, albeit a little damaged from his experiences that led to his demise. It was a waste. He had so much potential as a Paradox.

Even though he wasn't accustomed to performing subordinate tasks for others, the fact was that he had accepted the bloodied and still somewhat warm corpse of someone he knew personally. Someone with whom he had shared meals. Someone he had personally instructed, in the same way he had instructed all of the other Paradoxes. And now he was going to be laid to rest far, far from the place of his birth and in a time that was not his own. This was all for the sake of returning to his own people after his allotted lifespan. It wasn't a fair death; there were so few of those in the world. Not his first and not his second, either one. It was always a bad idea to go back. Hell they were even given individual instruction on that when they first arrived. Could it have been different? Or was it just his fate to perish at that time, in that manner? Were it not a Destruere, would it then have been an errant, running lawnmower, strangely plummeting from a nearby roof to explode upon him with sharpened, kinetic energy? He may never know.

Grim determination colored his features as he trudged, shirtless but behatted, back toward the main house. Maybe while he was there, he would take the opportunity to bundle him up in sheets. Or leave him in his room, upon his bed, as if he was merely asleep. He would have to decide when he got there.

James Grady

Location: Ville au Camp (Kitchen House -> Just outside of the Kitchen House)
Skills: Peccary Form (involuntary)

"Water ...water ...water..." mumbled James, foregoing the tea leaves and just procuring a glass. Being as it was the 1940's, indoor plumbing was a thing. That was something for which he was immeasurably glad. Much like the toilet; a single one for a dozen people, it wasn't the most convenient thing in the world but it was indoor plumbing, damnit. Nothing to sneeze at. Wistful thoughts of interior water fixtures concluding, he filled the glass almost to the top with what he assumed was good, clear well water, and brought it back to Sophia. The earlier thought of tea had his tastes primed for the smooth, bitter goodness, and so he gave a silent vow to himself that he would in fact return to the stove put a pot of water on for tea. Black tea. With oodles of sugar, and ice if they had it. It was the way of the American South, and who was he to buck tradition?

The moment that he handed the water over, however, James began to feel a little strange. To begin with, it seemed as if he was just getting out of a dentist's chair. His mouth felt tight at first, followed by the abrupt protrusion of his lower canine teeth. They began to grow and reshape themselves into something more resembling a tusk - huge, bony lanceheads that had gotten so large he could see them. James was growing tusks out of his face, a thing which he had to confirm with his hands. "Wha... ?" he tried to ask, but his voice came out more as a porcine grunt than a human vocalization. And then he began to freak.

James's pulse quickened, hastening along the inevitable transformation. He cut and began to run for the nearest exterior door, hoping that this was all just a fugly dream and he was not being warped and twisted by some foul magic. Before he even got to the doorway, he found himself overbalanced, prompted to the floor by necessity. Coarse, dark grey fur sprouted from all over his body, save for a collar of tufted, purest white. His tusks grew to painfully large proportions, and by the time he had hit the porch, James was almost completely lost in the physical form of a mammoth Wild Boar. A king of a grand sounder, certainly, but a huge boar nonetheless.

And then he took off, tearing around the yard about the Kitchen House with unbridled, baritone squealing abandon.

Alexandra Andonova

Mind over matter when you're mad as a hatter
- "Mad as a Hatter" by Larkin Poe

Location: Ville au Camp - Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

Alexandra stopped in the doorway to the Kitchen House and peered outside. From here, everything seemed so serene despite the stark lack of people. Perhaps though there was a niggling sensation in the back of her head that said that something just wasn't quite right here. Well, worse than the already messed up state of this new life. Nevertheless, the thought that bloodshed and death, or rather re-death, had already encroached upon this seemingly peaceful place was far from her mind. She peered around some more, wondering in vain where the hat man and everyone else had gone off to. She glanced over her shoulder at Bart as he spoke up louder. She pursed her lips seemingly in thought for a moment before eventually shrugging. "Nah," she replied simply.

She turned her gaze forward once more to gaze outside. She let out a sigh and leaned against the doorframe. It seemed that anytime she was left to her own devices she could feel the weight of this new reality pressing down on her more than ever before. She didn't like the unsettling feeling, not one bit, but such was life. Unfortunately, not everything was laughable or carefree, and she could only escape reality for so long. She stood there for awhile, losing herself in the moment before she eventually got a well needed reprieve. Well. Maybe that was a matter of opinion.

The sound of an inhuman, yet unmistakably pig like, grunt somewhere behind her broke through her haze. Her brows furrowed, and she slowly turned around to face the source. A startled gasp (okay, maybe it was actually a girlish scream) left her lips as her eyes landed on the mutating form of James. "VHAT THE HELL?!" she cried out. When James' rapidly changing form came running at her, well, she hit the deck. Literally. She jumped out of the way in the nick of time as the once man but now boar surged past her, and she landed onto the floor of the Kitchen House with style. Nope, actually not with style. It was a failed attempt at a tuck and roll.

Bartholomew Rosecliff

Location: Ville au Camp - Kitchen House
Skills:N/a

Bart smiled as Sophia took and drank the water, and in general seemed to calm down. He gave a sideways look at her, "What exactly was going on though?" He asked, very curious about the particulars of her ability. He didn't want to come off as insensitive, so he left the question hanging there. He glanced back at James as he was apparently preparing a second glass of water for Sophia. He took a small step to the side, to make room for him, and gasped as something impossible began to happen. To Bart's horror, he watched, paralyzed with a mix of fear and awe as the man in front of him began to transform into a boar. A scream erupted from his lips at the horror before him, before stumbling back and falling flat on his ass as the man turned boar ripped it's way out of the kitchen house.

Bart looked up at Sophia and over at Alexandra, and with a shaky voice said, "H-how? What? I.. I.." Grasping for words. What the fuck was that? He guessed it had to be an ability of some kind, but fuck is that wasn't absolutely terrifying. He flipped over onto all fours, and pushed himself off the ground. "Should we get... somebody?" He said, the worry evident in his voice. He didn't want to run off and leave these two alone after what just happened, or go out alone while James was running around as a boar. He didn't know human he was right now, and he didn't want to find out the wrong way. He inched towards the door, and looked hopefully at Sophia and Alexandra. "I don't think the others mentioned where they were going exactly, did they say anything to you?" He asked, looking at Sophia, knowing she was originally with another group before coming back in, shock still ringing through his voice as he was processing what he just say. He didn't hear any screaming outside, so he was relatively certain that wherever the others were, it wasn't near them.

Alicia Gonzalez

Location: Ville au Camp - Running Down Road -> Kitchen House
Skills: Empathy

Running, running was something that Alicia was used to doing. In this life, the previous, or even the Alternative one. Running towards the danger, running away from the danger, running towards people, running away from people. Seemed she was doing it again. Granted it was her job. Not to run but to help. Which was odd for her. Sure she helped people in her previous life and "other life" but that was either our of necessity to survive, or because it was her job. Yes, this was her job now but she wasn't running because it was her job. It was because she knew a friend of hers was going through something and she wanted to be there for him.

Sadly, even though she could feel the emotional repercussions of his ability manifesting, she didn't know exactly what was going on right then. Not like the Emendators could. If they focused they could nearly see things as they happened for the first time in the course of humanity. Alicia on the other hand could not. So as as she came up towards the kitchen house her ran began to slow as she heard noises. Rounding the corner of the kitchen house she stopped in her tracks fully as she spotted a very large boar in the yard. Thing was, this was no boar, not really. Her empathy told her everything she needed to know right then. That was James...

"Dios mio!"

Evelina Lucas

Location: Ville au Camp - Road Heading Towards Servants Quarters -> Walking Towards Main House
Skills: Administration, Diplomacy, Memory Training, History

When one steps into a created time loop, the world does go on around them. Yet within that one small little area everything holds still. Time moves forward, ticking away with each second just as it always did. The illusion that humanity placed on itself ever moving forward. Yet in that loop time gets stretched like a rubber band. Once it reaches as far a it can go, it inevitably snaps back and rewinds. Everything goes back to where it was, resetting itself. Leaves go back to the trees that once fell. Everything back in its perfect place, as if Mary Poppins came through with a spoon full of sugar and snapped her fingers before taking you out on a jaunty walk to fetch some fish.

Yet even Mary Poppins, or Ville Au Camps version of the British Nanny with a bag full of tricks, could not reset some clocks. She couldn't rewind the clock on Peters life to bring him back to them. He was gone and even the Lady of Luck nor any of the other Emendators could reverse this. "Yes, a waste. Each life snuffed out by those despicables is a waste." The white handkerchief was fading away to pinks and crimsons as she continued to pull and turn at her fingers, trying to pry the blood from it before it set deep stain into the paleness of her own flesh.

Looking over towards Andromeda she lifted her chin slightly. 'Very few times in our lives are we presented with a choice where we chose what we want over what we expect others to want. Make the choice for yourself and go to where you wish to be," she said in a calm and even tone. Turning she started to walk and made her way to catch up with Gilbert. The least she could do for the fallen Paradox at this point was to give some quiet respect while he was moved to a temporary resting place until they were able to intern him in his final.

Sophia Harris

Location: Ville au Camp: Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

Sophia took another drink from her water, she was certainly feeling a lot better now after her ability turned itself off, she did need to practice it later and get a better feel for it. She turned her head towards Bart asking her what had happened as she drank about half of her glass of water before putting it down. "I suspect that an ability appeared, basically I could smell everything.. I did smell blood somewhere, and my hearing was overwhelming, as well as the sandwich I made earlier had an awful aftertaste to it." Sophia answered, she looked up at James as he went to get her a glass of water as well. Then the really weird started to happen, Sophia noticed tusks starting to form over James' face, then he started freaking out she would to if something like that happened to her.

Sophia quickly got up from her seat as she watched him running out of the kitchen house, nearly bumping into Alexandra in the process looking over as she helped Bart up to his feet. Then Sophia turned to do the same for Alexandra to help her back onto her feet, looking over at Bart Sophia shook her head. "I wouldn't know where they went, I got overwhelmed by my ability that I passed out and woke up in that chair." Sophia answered, remembering she had just met Gio the other Emendator before she passed out.

Sophia went out the backdoor and went to see the massive Boar that was James, running around like a mad animal she turned her head when she heard Alicia exclaimed when she saw James. Since she was the older of the bunch of new Paradoxes maybe she knew what to do, looking back at James. "Should we I don't know do something like wrestle him down?" Sophia ended up asking her, she did think about just trying to run forward and try and wrestle the massive thing that was James down. She had seen people turn into walkers, but she had never seen anyone turn into a boar it was certainly very weird everything so far has been.

Faith Masters

Location: Road To Servant's Quarters -> Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

Faith had managed to keep up with Alicia and mentally patted herself on the back. She prided herself on not doing too much and letting others do the work for her and, so far, she had managed to do a lot for herself. Maybe she would be able to do this Paradox thing after all! That is if she had cool powers. Not like that girl with sense enhancement or whatever. How that was in any way useful, Faith had no idea. Still, if she was here, it had to be useful in some capacity.

Faith's thoughts went back to Peter and George and that scene. If this is what their enemy was capable of, surely they were in much need for decent training. Hopefully, once this was all cleared up they could get started.

And then Alicia stopped and made her way to the kitchen house. Faith questioned but followed suit. And she saw the boar running free, squealing like mad. "When the hell did you guys get a boar?" Faith, of course, had no idea it was James. All she could think of was: Bacon!

Gilbert Summers, "The Hat"

Location: Ville au Camp (Road To Servants Quarters -> Nearing Main House)
Skills: N/A

Shirtless and painfully morose, the Emendator known in this era as Gilbert Summers carried the mangled remains of Peter Keystone in his arms, ever striding toward the Main House. He gave it a good amount of time before speaking, spending most of his time staring down at the former Paradox. He supposed that even dead, he was still a Paradox in the strictest of terms; given the fact that he should have been permanently shuffled off to the hereafter during World War I in Germany, his corpse shouldn't be in Louisiana in the 1940s. It might have been easier if, upon second death, the body reverted back to its rightful place in time. But that was all science fiction - an interesting genre in literature and the silver screen, but life was just a little messier than the works of Hollywood's fine performers and directors.

Gilbert didn't bother looking up too often. He knew the grounds of Ville au Camp like the back of his hand, every rock, tree, and divot in the earth. Sight was a formality. He did maintain his contemplative silence as Evelina moved to join him, simply looking over in her direction and giving a tiny, sad smile. He did appreciate that she had decided to join him for his walk back to the house, eve if it was just a moment of sharing the same general space and putting one foot in front of the other. If anyone knew how he felt at that moment, it was another Emendator. Who else in the whole of existence could? But perhaps he would never fully understand her feelings. He didn't feel Peter's oncoming death. He didn't roll the dice. And he didn't bring Peter back as a Paradox. He was just there to sense his second death, though. Maybe it counted for something.

The moment saw Gilbert's thoughts drifting into the present, specifically the present group of Paradoxes that were harvested across the timelines and eras. His initial feelings about them were varied, of course. Some of them seemed to settle in way too easily. Two were showing actual signs of clinical depression. And one... ...well, maybe Gil should make sure to wear shirts more often. At least for a while. His impressions of the new Paradoxes as well as recent events prompted two questions, which he expressed to Evelina in smooth, even tones. First, "Πιστεύεις ότι μπορούν να χειριστούν ό, τι τους χρειαζόμαστε, Εύη?"1 Followed by a comment to the more immediate surroundings, "Μπορείτε να το ακούσετε? Ακούγεται σαν να υπάρχει ένα άγριο χοίρο εκεί..."2

James Grady

Location: Ville au Camp (Yard just outside of the Kitchen House)
Skills: Peccary Form (involuntary)

If nothing else, James realized over the sound of panicked grunting and squealing (that he painfully accepted as coming from himself) that he could run. He hated to run. Never got a handle for it, except for when it was to save his own skin or someone else's. Living in the wasteland of an Undead Apocalypse could make someone a runner who wasn't, but it didn't mean that he liked it so much. Not only running, but he was making a lot of noise in the process of hauling ass across the yard to the Kitchen House, having himself a good, well deserved freakout session. But he wasn't winded. This form was fast and constitute.

Throughout the course of losing his shit almost entirely, James managed to dip one of his grand ivory tusks into the ground around him. Still propelling himself forward as fast as his cloven hooves could propel him, the massive, pointy mass of solid bone began ripping the topsoil up and away like a plow through loose earth. He used the drag to whip himself around, facing back toward the Kitchen House. Uncertain of what the hall was going on right now but very certain that he wouldn't get any answers by running away or destroying nearby property, his adrenaline-surging, fear-shivering porcine form plopped its piggy ass upon the ground and let out a deep, near bass toned, bellowing squeal. It was a monstrous, nightmarish sound, one that could easily find its way into a horror movie were someone present to record it. Though as horrifying as the sound was, the look on James's features (though masked behind that of a wild boar) was nigh to pitiful. Sadness, despair, horror... but the potential to inflict serious terror upon others was apparent behind his milky eyes and coarse bristles. James felt alone, just wanting some help and needing some answers.

Nancy Parker & Andromeda Aldrich

Location: Ville au Camp: Road Heading Towards Servants Quarters
Skills: None

Nancy elected to ignore Giouse's insistence on being patient. She was comforting her friend and putting the gears in motion for her to get to go and take a trip. She hated being forced to remain in one place. Sure, she had spent centuries in the same country but she found the repetition of the loop could be rather tiresome. The same sunrise, the same sunset, the same weather - it was a little too orderly for her tastes. She wanted to be surprised by whatever awaited for them beyond the horizon. For a moment, she wished Drem was there again - Giouse could have sent the two back to the Golden Age of Piracy. It was Drem's favorite and Nancy was always down for an adventure.

The sounds of a squealing pig, however, did catch her attention. That was something new, at the very least - probably an ill timed prank from Alicia or something along those lines. She hoped that Gilbert didn't decide to eat it and serve it to all of them - she hated ham. She noticed that George had been continually silent - it was to be expected. He had just lost Peter, after all. But as far as Nancy was concerned, the best thing for George would be to keep him distracted and occupied. Perhaps not surprisingly, Andromeda's thoughts were also on Peter -

And on logistics. If a fallen Paradox was buried on the grounds of Ville au Camp, what happened when the time moved into the loop? Did they remain buried? Or did the corpse vanish, returning to wherever it was they had been killed? Did the corpse end up getting spat out by the earth and they had to bury it over and over again? Or was it procedure to restart the loop on a new day whenever they buried someone? Of course, she wasn't about to go and ask any of these questions. They seemed highly insensitive, as far as she was concerned.

The Watch unnerved her, to say the least. She wasn't sure if his piercing stare actually involved him searching her soul - but she wouldn't have been shocked if it did. She hesitated at Lady Luck's words, realizing in that instant that she hadn't been acting like herself - not at all. She had questions and she wanted to know more. Andromeda then ceased in her hesitation and hurried after Eve and Gilbert.
