A few more words, and it seemed that Emendators and Paradox alike lost the taste for words. Although he tried to continue acting as he usually would, he couldn't blame them. Gio could shake these kinds of things off externally, but that he was something of an outlier in that regard, and he could tell that anymore idle conversation would be more likely to annoy than lighten the mood. So everything grew quiet, other than the soft breathing of those walking towards what was to become Peter's resting place, the sound of footsteps along the road and the rustling of cloth.

Or at least, those were the only sounds before off in the distance there was the squealing of a wild pig. How did one of those get on the estate? He was fairly sure that they weren't common to the area, nor did he recall them turning up previously. Maybe this was the doing of a Paradox. Unbidden, an image sprang to mind of a Paradox whose power was to summon some nearby wild animal that would be sympathetically disposed to its caller. Or perhaps one of them was just really good at pig calling. The one of darker complexion certainly had the dialect of one who would possess such a skill. It didn't matter ultimately, as long as the porcine visitor didn't try to attack anyone while it was around.

"You wouldn't happen to know of a method to lure it off of the campgrounds, would you Gilbert?" However, just because it didn't matter didn't mean he liked the idea of some dirty, wild beast roaming around the grounds. Although he was no stranger to outdoor living, most of Gio's consciousness had been spent in more civilized areas, where the only animals he really needed to handle were of the domesticated variety. However, if any of them were likely to have some knowledge of wild animal behavior he figured it would have either been Drem or Gil. Drem for just being the kind of guy to know an off the wall skill like that, and Gil due to being the oldest, most far traveled and experienced of the lot.

Mind over matter when you're mad as a hatter
- "Mad as a Hatter" by Larkin Poe

Location: Ville au Camp - Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

Alexandra let out a small groan from where she was sprawled out on the ground after her awkward near face plant. She then rolled over onto her side and pushed herself up into a sitting position. As she quickly got her wits about her after her tumble, her gaze went back to looking in the direction that the pig, wait, James ran off in. From where she sat adjacent the doorway, she could see the massive boar, that had once been James, streaking back and forth within her field of vision. Her eyes widened and a sound of astonishment left her lips. She relcuntantly pulled her gaze from the spectacle going on outside to look back over her shoulder at the similarly flabbergasted Bart and Sophia. "Vhat the hell is going on?" she questioned in exsaperation.

She glanced up at Sophia as the young Paradox then came over to help her up. She gladly took the woman's hand, mustering up a small appreciative smile despite her current state of shock. "Thank you," she murmured before looking back over at the doorway. Her brows furrowed for a moment before relaxing as a relization began to dawn on her. She turned back to Sophia. "Vait, you said something about your ability manifesting. Is this his ability then?" she inquired, gesturing in the direction of the squealing boar outside. A snort came unbidden from her at the notion. I mean what good was the ability to transform into a pig other than to scare the crap out of people?

A chuckle burst out of Alexandra's mouth at Sophia's suggestion of wrestling the man-pig down. A goofy grin then came to her features. "Ve can try," she chuckled. Her chuckles quickly turned into near rib crushing hysterical laughter. She didn't know how else to react to all the crazy stuff that had been happening. She felt like she had downright lost her mind at this point time.

Bart gave Sophia a look of disbelief as he looked from her, to the boar that was previously James, and his very sharp looking tusks, and back to Sophia, while Alexandra broke out in laughter. "You're... not serious are you?" He asked. Having just died a few hours ago, he wasn't quite in the mood to do that again. Not quite else knowing what to do, he found himself laughing along with Alexandra. He wasn't going quite as crazy as her, but he did find himself buckling a bit, and putting his head in his hands, before shaking and straightening himself, a smile now on his face. "No, no I don't think we should do that, not unless Alexandra or I have super strength that is." He said. He always thought that would be a useful, but boring ability to have, besides the fact that it on it's own would cause more problems than solve, it was just too vanilla.

Bart continued to gaze out at the boar, when he noticed Alicia come into view. If anybody could handle this, surely it would be her, right? She was the most experienced Paradox here, to his knowledge. He stuck his head out the door, and waved out to her, a concerned look on his face. "Hello!" He called out, "I'm afraid we're a bit... stuck." Making his unwillingness to deal with the situation at hand apparent. He was by no means a brave man, and knew this was far out of scope for him. "Do you think you could maybe give us a hand? The Hat seems to have disappeared at the worst time..." He said with a smile. He didn't like seeming useless, but he simply wasn't able to wrestle down a boar. He knew his limits, and he knew he had to respect them. He looked between Sophia and Alexandra, hoping for their sake, and his, that they felt similarly.

Alicia Gonzalez

Location: Ville au Camp - Kitchen House
Skills: Empathy

"That's James." Looking over the situation and the way people were firing off questions in her direction Alicia put two and two together. Yes she knew it was James when she arrived by looking at him and feeling the emotions coming off the animal because of her empathy. Yet even if she didn't have that skill, she could have figured it out by now.

"Fuck no. Leave him be. Imagine if that was your ass that just shifted into a new animals body? You want to be pinned down? Hell no. He is still James in there from what I am getting from his emotions." Her voice was firm and she snapped a bit. The fact she didn't want to see a friend of hers pinned to the ground like some wild animal, even if that was what he was right then, didn't sit well with her. On top of that she could feel everything he was feeling right then, so it made the feelings coursing through her veins that much more intense.

"Fucking sweet ass ability, just give him a minute." Taking a deep breath she started to walk forward carefully. It was cool to her. Being able to turn into a wild beast like that? Imagine being surrounded by a munch of fuckers trying to capture you, shifting, throwing them off just by seeing it and then being able to barrel through them like a steam engine or a train and gorge out their guts at the same time? Boars were no laughing matter. James had hunted them in another life, she had seen him do it. Those fuckers were mean, strong, and now had the smarts of a human. That wasn't anything to fuck with.

"Gilbert has more important things to tend to right now," Alicia added in passing as she knelt down and got on eye level with her boarish friend. "Chocolate thunder, calm yer tits bitch before they tranq your ass," she said as she locked eyes with him.

Evelina Lucas

Evelina took a small breath as she reached into her pocket and pulled out her pipe. Lighting it and puffing on it slowly as they continued to make their way towards the main house. She pondered the question that Gilbert had asked her. Could these new Paradoxes handle what this life would throw at them. She was not sure. Yes she had picked each of them for a reason but that was a reason she never divulged to anyone. So few things in this life or another were truly ones own and ones thoughts and reasons were one of those few things. She held that close to her heart.

Ας ελπίσουμε ότι θα εκπαιδεύσουν σκληρά και θα είναι περισσότερο σε αυτή τη ζωή από μια ασπίδα κρέατος μεταξύ αυτού του κόσμου και του επόμενου," she said as she puffed on her pipe that she held in one hand as she slipped her free hand into her tailored jacket pocket.

George looked over towards Nancy and slowly pulled from his pocket a small package wrapped in plain brown paper and tied shut with butchers twine. "Brought something back, mmm," he said quietly as he stood there and lowered his head. He had promised to return with something before he left. It was something he had done on nearly every mission he had gone on. Picking up some small trinket when he was out.

It was best to avoid the scene over at the kitchen house right now or why Alicia ran off. Emendators, if they focused could figure it out. She knew it was James and his ability. "Focus my friends and you will have your answers," she said as she made it to the main house and stopped. Glancing towards the Kitchen house she eyed the direction for a moment before looking back at Gilbert. "If you would please lay him out in his room. I will be there shortly. I believe I can handle the preparation of the body for burial," she said before turning her attention to Andromeda. "And I am most confidant that you will be able to help as well. Let us be quick shall we?" she added.

Sophia Harris

Location: Ville au Camp: Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

Sophia looked over to see Faith coming up shortly behind Alicia as well, and gave her a slight nod, as her attention turned towards Boar James, as he squealed around the yard in front of the kitchen house, before calming down and plopping down on his fat piggy butt on the ground. She looked towards Alexandra when she asked her question and nodded slightly, it was the logical conclusion at least in her mind she passed out when her ability came on. "It's the most logical conclusion I can think of." Sophia said, she would be freaking the hell out when she suddenly just transformed into a boar. Sophia wasn't really sure why both Alexandra and Bart were laughing, she would probably have the same exact reaction James was having right now.

And thinking about it now, trying to wrestle Boar James down would probably either get her killed, or injured by them tusks and she didn't really want to die again so soon. Sophia raised her eyebrow when she said that the Hat had something imporant that had come up, and a part of her wondered if it was something to do with the scent of blood she picked up when her ability manifested. "Does it have something to do with the scent of blood I picked up before I passed out when my ability manifested?" Sophia asked, looking at Faith as well to see if she had some kind of information as well since Faith had came from the same direction.

Sophia watched Alicia as she started to make her way towards Boar James, and tried to not laugh when she heard her speaking to him to calm the fuck down. A part of her wondered what Alicia would actually be like if she was a mother, but then again Sophia doesn't know much about the woman's previous life.

Faith Masters

Location: Road To Servant's Quarters -> Kitchen House
Skills: Glassibility (Involuntary)

Faith only felt mildly guilty about what she thought about James. Still, it was pretty funny to see him running around as a boar. But it only further cemented the fact that the powers she has seen thus far have been lackluster at best. Really, how is turning into a boar supposed to help them defeat the things that did that to George and Peter?

She wanted to get away from here. At least for a bit. Disappear for a second to collect her thoughts. Suddenly, she felt weird. It started off as a tingling sensation in her stomach that moved across her entire body. She was dead, wasn't she? Shouldn't this type of thing not happen? She wanted to say something and waved her hand to get Alicia's attention. But, she couldn't see her hand.

That took a moment. She looked at where her hand was. It wasn't there. Not until she moved it. She could see it somewhat, but it was like it was glass. She looked at her feet and, sure enough, the same thing. "What the fuck is this?" She got out. It was as if her body was made of glass. See through, somewhat, but she was moving so she was visible. Is this what her power was?

How is being glass useful!?!?

Gilbert Summers, "The Hat"

Location: Ville au Camp (Nearing Main House -> Main House, Room 106)
Skills: N/A

Gilbert took Evelina's advice, opening himself up to the extremely recent unfolding of human events. It was just a bit of a stretch, as the term "Human" had to take a broader meaning in this place. Specifically, Gilbert wasn't 100% sure that he ever was human. The Paradoxes were another matter entirely. They were human once, and maybe still were, but changes had obviously come over them to make them very different. But it counted, so far as the Emendators could glimpse into history. If none of them were truly human anymore, then they were close enough.

"No, Evelina's right, Gio. That would be our new Paradox, James. Good thing I checked, too. I could really go for a flame roasted hog this evening." He was only half joking, and that half was quickly shut down by the weight in his arms. Peter Keystone. A man of title and courage. He would have likely earned nobility in his own way were it not handed to him by the circumstances of his birth. A dead man, ripped up and bloody, waiting to rejoin the earth. "He'll figure himself out in a little bit. They always do. And unless I miss my guess, I think another one just stumbled into one of their abilities, too."

The words were a bit lackluster, befitting his mood at the moment. Ponderous steps took him up and into the house, where The Dice reminded him of her preference involving Peter's remains. He nodded gravely, and allowed the same heavy footfalls to carry him around the central area and into the room shared by George and Peter. He really should find and tell George what he was doing, so as to spare him the shock of coming upon his good friend's corpse where he kept all of his personals. With reverence, Gilbert laid Pater's body upon his bed and arranged him out straight, finishing the task by draping a sheet over him. "Best of luck, Peter. Where you go, I do not think I can follow."

Questions of the possibility of afterlife for another time, Gil turned back around and made his way out of the room, carefully shutting the door behind him.

James Grady

Location: Ville au Camp (Yard just outside of the Kitchen House)
Skills: Peccary Form (involuntary)

James was not happy. Not a bit. He carried a grudging respect for the form he had adopted, unwanted though it was. For a couple of decades, he had hunted them as nuisance animals. Even got good enough for some longhaired ginger guy from east Texas to write a folk hero style theme song for him. ...they call him Black James... There was a television program that featured him for a bit there, and he was known besides as a Man of Action, Hog Hunter Extraordinaire. These were skills of his previous life. Even after the world turned into Hell On Earth, wild boar were still his stock and trade. For the longest time, he followed after them, tracked them from place to place, and struck out to find new sounders of hogs. He never over-hunted from one group. He kept tabs on them. James even prevented many a family unit of the porcine beasties from being overrun by hordes of snarling undead. It was his stock and trade. He had survived because of them, and they had survived because of him.

It was still a sharp and shaggy chunk of irony that the veteran Hog Hunter just transformed into a wild boar. Poetic justice, maybe. He had killed a good number of them, even if he did do his part to protect the species as a whole.

His senses were sharp as a boar, especially in the way of his smell and hearing. He could pick up bits of conversation coming from the Kitchen House as soon as he stopped bellowing, mostly concerning the possibility of tackling him. From another direction, he caught a snatch of 'flame roasted hog' in general speech. Just great. His transformation had made him a target. It wasn't until Alicia came running up that he started to collect himself in earnest. Then she had to go and say something that stabbed him right in the feels.

Chocolate Thunder. Damn.

It was a phrase that was used first by the son-of-a-bitch that he had, well, murdered just prior to his own death through unrelated circumstances. The bastard deserved it. James was even willing to die because of his choice, as it meant protecting those he had come to truly care about. But there was guilt. That did it. James began to feel himself slowly shift back, his bristles and tusks receding, limbs lengthening, hard hooves turning into dexterous hands. To his surprise, he was still dressed; the clothing he was wearing seemed to meld into his new form. Still breathing heavily, even shaking slightly, James gave Alicia an appreciative head bob and started to speak.

"I ain't a overly smart man, so lemme get this straight, aight?" There was a edge to his voice that resembled restrained emotion, "Big Man can turn into anybody he want to, and pull all kinda shit out his hat, right? Lady Dice over there can bring muthafuckas back from bein' dead. Not like the Walkin' Dead'uns what we had to deal with, but like alive alive, yeah? We gotta girl what can magic up a goddamn tornado, if'n she's feelin' a little emotional and you can read how someone feels when you ain't runnin' round in they dreams."

He sat up on the ground and pulled himself into a crosslegged position. "But me? I can turn into a pig. Ain't that some shit?" In truth, James could already tell that there were advantages over his human form. He could survive in almost any environment without gear or provisions like that. He could consume anything and not fall ill or even be disgusted by it. He could detect scents like a frigging superpower; not like Sophia's probably but damn powerful. And his hearing was magnified immensely. He was strong, he was tough, he was fast. And from what he knew, coupled with what he could feel from being a boar, he could get much, much stronger. And those tusks... Ouch. Still, he was a pig. It was a little embarrassing.

"I hurt anybody?" he probably should have asked that first.

Gio's first instinct was to immediately object to Eve and Gil's conversation about the Paradoxes. While what little he had seen of this batch of new recruits was mostly unimpressive, there was no doubt in his mind that each of them would be more than capable into growing into someone of great worth if they put in the time and work (that was always the hard part, wasn't it). Maybe he was just more idealistic than the dice when it came to humanity and the potential of the individual than the rest, but to doubt their ability to help when they'd all been there for a few hours at most was highly uncharitable at best.

But he didn't say any of this. Now was not the time or the place to have an argument about ideals. Especially not literally over the dead body of another Paradox. He wasn't sure what exactly that would constitute, but at the very least it would be some kind of highly disrespectful. If the topic came up later he would be sure to protest in full.

When they finally arrived at the Main House Gio elected to stay back and let Gil take Peter's body to his room alone. Let the man pay his respects or whatever he wanted to do in privacy. For the time being he would content himself with keeping his mind busy while Eve and Andromeda were preparing for the burial proper. Gio considered whether they should have all the Paradoxes present for the ritual, but almost immediately decided against it. Having such an immediate reminder of the risk of their mission would likely only serve to unsettle them further, and the last thing they needed was for somebody to get bummed out and accidentally set Peter's body and half the estate on fire due to a power newly manifesting. It didn't really matter that they had a weather controller and that it would be good as new in the morning, at the moment, each of them were an active explosive, and you kept those away from potential triggers.

Nancy Parker & Andromeda Aldrich

Location: Ville au Camp: Walking Towards Main House -> Main House
Skills: None

Nancy accepted the small gift from George, pulling the twine off of it and undoing the wrapping. She always felt cooped up in the loop and as of such, she tended to put in requests for new trinkets and the like from whoever went off on a mission. George almost always obliged and brought back something interesting for her. She found a small box and as she opened it, Nancy pulled out a small object hardly more than three inches wide. She couldn't help but be reminded slightly of the artifact she had seen in the cards earlier that day. There were definite differences between them, but also similarities.

"Aww, thanks George," Nancy said with a smile. She took the paper and put it inside of the box and closed it, before putting the trinket in her pocket along with the other possessions she kept on her at all times. She'd find a good place for it later where it wouldn't get lost. Or it'd just end up having a near permanent home in her pocket. That's what ended up happening with her rune, at any rate. Her thoughts focused for a moment and she realized what exactly had happened - one of the new Paradoxes had turned into a pig. Maybe there'd finally be a Paradox who could understand Nancy's distaste of ham - she had to suppress a chuckle and a grin at the thought. She didn't really care to join in any conversation about how the Paradoxes would do. She cared more about whether or not she could have fun with them. If they brought a change of pace around here, then that was fine in Nancy's book. And even the most seemingly well prepared paradoxes could end up being the first to die. It was all a bit of a gamble as far as she was concerned.

Andromeda continued to follow Lady Luck and the Hat, unable to follow the conversation in Greek. She couldn't help but wonder if those two were just naturally used to mixing languages or if they were concealing information from them. While she didn't want to think ill of these people, she had to imagine it was the latter. She supposed that it made sense - the death of one of their charges on the day they brought in a whole new set. Luckily, one of the Emendators did offer an explanation as to what was going on - apparently, one of them had turned into a wild hog.

How does that even work? Andromeda thought to herself. As much as she believed in the strange and unusual, she also believed that there was always a logic behind it. Ghosts could be both real and logical, as far as she was concerned. But she guessed if there was anyone in the world who would know those sort of things, it would be the Emendators. "I'll do my best," Andromeda promised with a nod, ready to follow Lady Luck and help her.

Alexandra Andonova

I might be crazy, but at least I keep it interesting...

Location: Ville au Camp - Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

Alexandra doubled over, clutching her side as she laughed hysterically. Tears sprouted from her eyes as she basically laughed her lungs out at the absurdity of everything that had occurred in such a short timeframe. Just when she thought things couldn't get any crazier, the crazy started pouring down like rain in a hurricane. At this point, she was more than waist deep in the crazy. Pretty soon, she wouldn't be able to breathe at all. In other words, she was losing it. She straightened up, wiping the tears from her eyes as she tried to calm her uncontrollable laughter. Her ribs hurt from the amount of laughter that had shook her small frame.

"T-t-that v-vas great," she remarked in between giggles. She skipped out of the Kitchen House and over to James, who had since turned back into his man form. She stopped in front of him and looked down at him as a wide grin spread across her face. "That vas avesome. Do it again, pig man," she remarked enthusiastically. Despite her seeming eagerness to see round two of man turns pig, she offered him a hand up.

Faith's outcry distracted Alexandra for a moment. She glanced over at the other Paradox and ended up doing a double take. The woman--well, she wasn't entirely sure what was going on there. Faith's skin seemed to have turned clear and see through. Yet, it wasn't see through like everyone could see her insides. No, that would be plain disturbing. Instead, one could see straight through her to the scenery behind her. Alexandra's mouth fell agape, and her eyes widened. She then looked back over at James with an expression that said something along the lines of "what the hell just happened?"

Bart recoiled a bit at Alicia, not especially used to people speaking quite like that to him, at least not in a very long time. He closed his eyes, and inhaled, before looking back over to Alexandra, who'd kept laughing. He was almost concerned the woman has some kind of madness. While he was all for laughing with her at the start, this seemed a tiny bit... unhinged to say the least. Not that he could blame her, Bart himself was holding onto the flayed bits of sanity that he had left. He almost wanted to reach out to stop her when he saw her running out, but quickly saw that James, (That was his name right?) had morphed back into a man, which acted to relieve a tiny bit of stress. He saw Alexandra seem taken aback for a moment, but at this point, she was too crazy to call, so for all he knew she could have seen a butterfly.

He was contemplating heading out to join the others at this point, knowing there were no more wild boars to be feared. On one hand, it's be good to go out, talk to others, and go into what would hopefully be a nonexplosive situation. Having a moment of peace would help a lot for sure. On the other hand, if anything crazier happened, he might snap, and breaking down into a puddle of tears in front of people he'd be spending a large amount of time with would certainly be embarrassing. He didn't think he if was quite at that point yet, but god if he wasn't nearing it. Making a decision, he gingerly inched out, taking one last look back at Sophia, and jerking his head forward, signaling to follow if she wanted.

Bart started walking towards Alexandra, and squinted out into the distance, seeing some kind of glimmer, or distortion. Normally, some he'd right off immediately, but today, he knew it could be anything. He closer at it, but couldn't make heads or tails of what it was at the distance he was at. This made a stop for a split second; he did want a break from the weirdness, but he knew it would be pretty strange he he just suddenly turned back now. Instead, hew forced himself to continue forward, hoping against hope that things wouldn't get too strange. He just actively tried to look away from the shimmering light in front of him, still stealing a glance every few seconds, but otherwise, forcing himself to look towards Alexandra and Alicia. "So... Where'd The Hat run off to then?" He asked, making conversation. Based on her earlier comment, he assumed she must have a pretty good idea, "Are tours still happening?"

Alicia Gonzalez

Location: Ville au Camp - Kitchen House
Skills: Send Dream

Alicia kept her eyes on James but her ears perked up when Sophia spoke. So it seemed this one could smell the blood in the water, or in the air in this case. She didn't answer. At least not verbally but she nodded somewhat. It was hard to hide the expression on her face. While Evelina might have done well in masking her moods, Alicia was like reading an open book and it was clear that she was hurting even as she kept still. She seemed more angry than upset though, yet anger was pretty much how her people dealt with shit when it hit the fan. There usually wasn't tears or what one would consider usual grief. There was anger and it manifested for most any negative situation. Healthy or not, even death could not change the ways some people reacted to things.

The Latina wanted to keep her eyes on James right then but as Faith snapped, her head jerked and she glanced towards her. "Well shit." Righting herself from her squatted position she dusted off the palms of her hand and smirked. "Some fucking form of invisibility. Get madder, maybe things will get clearer." It was a suggestion at least. Seemed most of every ones abilities manifested when shit hit the fan in one way or another. The more emotionally unstable for a time the stronger the ability. Was her best best. If it didn't work, at least with that she didn't have to worry about some fucking tornado coming out of no where if Faith lost her temper.

Then James started to revert and Alicia had to turn her attention back to him. Taking a breath she was at least glad to see that he was able to change back. She couldn't help but laugh at his run down of the situation but she shook her head at his question. "Naw, didn't hurt anyone. Just made a few go what the fuck. And hey, you used to hunt them fuckers you know how dangerous they can be. Especially against some fuckwad without a bow. Better than turning into a fucking fairy in my book," she said as she stepped onto the front porch of the Kitchen house. "How about a drink? Anyone want a damn drink?"

Then Bart opened his mouth and Alicia didn't stop the eye roll, one in which if her eyes were not already attached in their sockets would have sent her eyes getting stuck in the back of her head. "I already answered that fucking question. But since you didn't pay attention the first time, let me repeat myself. He has more important shit to tend to. But hey since that isn't enough for you, how about this..." she growled.

Alicia held a special ability. They all did in their own way. Some had manifested at least one, others had not. Alicia had manifested both in her time since her own personal arrival. Empathy she had been using nearly constantly since the first new Paradox showed up. The other she hadn't and most wouldn't suspect it was something she could do to those that were awake. It was. Day dreams were something that fell under the skill set. There was a haze that came over her eyes and then it happened...

George nodded towards Nancy and gave the small hint of a smile as it tugged at the corner of his mouth that could be seen. It was then it finally dawned on him that there were new arrivals. Luckily they hadn't gone totally bat shit nuts over seeing him like others had. He wasn't sure where others were or if there were others but he wasn't about to chance it. "Going to go get shovel, mmm. I will dig his grave," he said before turning and heading in the direction of the Mill. He figured there was no need to change at this point, he would just get another suit dirty and ruined. And in some odd way it was fitting for him to dig his friends grave covered in his blood. They were soldiers in a previous life, and in this one as well.

Evelina made quick steps as she glided over the grounds of the main house and too her room. Unlocking the door and opening it before stepping in. She left it open for Andromeda to follow her. Her room was very orderly, as one would probably suspect, and yet even in the neatness there was some disorder, or at least it appeared that way. There were numerous bows against one wall, all from different ages, all well used but well taken care of nonetheless. Other walls hung many portraits and beneath them lay many more. Most were of her and a man, either separate or together. There was one in view of what looked like Nancy from another time period, same went for Gilbert and Giosue. All were different in their technique and time periods. Many were of faces only the current Emendators would know. Elsewhere in the room were her wardrobe, vanity, collection of pipes, hair items, grooming items, her bed, a large trunk that was locked, several pocket watches, and one broken pair of glasses just sitting there on her night stand.

Walking over to her wardrobe she opened it and pulled out a navy skirt and white blouse, pink shoes, black stockings, white apron, and from her collection of pocket watches she picked up a broach watch to pin to her blouse. Turning her back to Andromeda she finally spoke. "I do apologize that your first few hours here are marred with the death of another. Lord Keystone was a remarkable man in his previous life and in this one as well. I wish I could say that if he had remained here he would still be alive but even I do not know that. Yet I am well aware it most likely brings up questions you might have. It rises several in my own mind," she said as she pulled her dice out of her pocket and gently laid them down on her desk, ensuring they did not move or act as if they had been rolled.

Sophia Harris

Location: Ville au Camp: Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

Sophia looked at James as she watched him starting to finally turn back into human being, she smiled slightly she was glad to see that he was able to turn back. She probably would never know how it would feel like being a massive boar, and she probably would never want to know remembering seeing them a few times while she was alive in Georgia. They were nasty and vicious animals, if you didn't pay attention and those tusks to weren't a joke. Sophia turned her attention over towards Faith seeing the woman suddenly starting to turn somewhat invisible, she could see the slight movements that Faith did. Now that was actually pretty interesting, Sophia thought about reaching over to see what it felt like. But she decided against it, Sophia didn't know the woman at all, at least not yet and she was pretty sure that Faith wouldn't appreciate someone touching her.

"That actually looks really cool." Sophia pointed out towards Faith, it would be pretty useful hiding in plain sight and whatnot was actually pretty cool at least in her opinion. As Sophia listened to Alexandra, still laughing her ass off she really wasn't sure if the woman had a few screws lose when she came back to life or not, or a side affect of being brought back. Sophia watched Alicia closely, seeing the subtle nod it was spot on then even if she didn't mention it. Whoever got injured or died, she didn't know all she could think was the scent of blood in the air.

Then Alicia started to make her way back towards the porch of the Kitchen House, she really could use a drink right about now she was still processing on everything that has happened in the last few hours. Being dead and being brought back, for some purpose to fight some creatures that they couldn't even see. And her power as well, she'd still have to get adjusted to it quickly as well if she needed to be helpful. "I wouldn't mind a few drinks actually." Sophia said, and then she started to wonder if they could actually get drunk as well as Bart spoke up again. Sophia looked at him for a moment, Sophia took a step back as Alicia started to speak up she didn't want to say anything as she looked at the two closely.

Faith Masters

Location: Road To Servant's Quarters -> Kitchen House
Skills: Glassibility (Involuntary)

Faith watched with admiration as she saw her body shimmer as she moved. She wasn't invisible, not all the way at least, but if she stood still she would be unseen. It was as if her body was movable glass, but she wasn't showing anything inside of her and she couldn't be broken (as far as she was aware).

And it was pretty badass!

Fuck being a boar and heightened senses, being able to turn invisible had to be a useful skill! She fought the urge to fist pump. Instead, she listened to the others. If they wanted her to get angrier, they just had to keep talking. Was that the trick? She had to get mad to be invisible? That was less awesome, but perhaps with practice, she could turn it off and on. As it stood now she was still glass. "Yeah, this is pretty sweet, I know. How useful is this gonna be? I can't seem to turn it off yet.

Faith watched as Alicia chastised the young, blonde boy who seemed lost. Faith rolled her eyes in tandem with Alicia before she ignored the rest. Drinks would be good. "I could use a drink. Hopefully, this disappears by then and no one can see the liquid rolling through me.

Gilbert Summers, "The Hat"

Location: Ville au Camp (Main House, outside of Room 106)
Skills: N/A

The door to the bedroom closed behind him, Gilbert took a second to look into the life of Peter Keystone, both before and after his first death. The tall Emendator closed his eyes and relaxed his brain into a sort of hazy focus, not grabbing to tightly to a series of events nor too loosely. It was the sum of human history that encompassed the man, Peter, and the strands of other peoples' lives that were altered by his presence. In short, Gilbert absorbed the knowledge of Peter's life, all the good and the bad, and everyone that was a part of his existence.

Peter was a good man. A decent man. He was noble and brave. Peter fought and died in service of something greater than himself, and left behind people who genuinely cared about him. His life had meaning. Upon the moment of his second passing, whether Peter was aware of it or not, he had left behind two people in his timeline who would be genuinely moved. Gilbert sighed. Reading into the entirety of a man's history might be viewed as a trespass. Certainly, no one wants people sifting through their clothes drawers to view their more intimate apparel nor reading their diary, but in this way, something of Peter might live on, within the recollections of an immortal.

It was a fine ability, having access to the entirety of human events. One that proved useful in many ways. Accessing the most recent of happenings, he strove to find out where George had gotten off to. The intent was to inform him, if he hadn't gotten the message, that Peter's remains were waiting in their room. It might come as an amazing and painful shock to see him there, and Gil would have spared the man that fate until proper arrangements could be made. To his surprise, he learned that George had already announced his plans to grab a shovel from the Mill and get to digging Peter's grave. He stood idly for a moment, caught between his responsibility to the new Paradoxes in his tour group and his desire to assist George properly inter his friend.

James Grady

Location: Ville au Camp (Yard just outside of the Kitchen House)
Skills: N/A

"Well, don't that beat all?" muttered James, looking up at Alexandra, who had decided to join them out on the grass. "Pig Man" was not exactly the superhero alter ego that he was hoping for, and in fact if that was used in his presence more often, James was pretty sure that he was going to murder someone else. In some small way, he was probably glad that his misadventures with shifting into a wild boar unexpectedly brought someone joy, as Lord knew he wasn't amazingly happy with it. Suffice it to say, he did not accept the hand up.

James did respond to Alicia though. He looked over to his good friend from his previous life, mulling over words. Oh indeed, James was familiar with what a wild boar could do. Nasty buggers sometimes, and smart to boot. As for the other half of her sentence: "If'n I knew Fairy was a possibility..." he said, shrugging his shoulders. He slowly pushed himself from the ground, very glad to see hands in front of him and not hooves. "An'a hells yeah, I been screamin' bout a drink since we got here!" he added.

The previously porcine blackneck looked to Alexandra and nodded back to the Kitchen House. "Might wanna see to your friend." he started, noting Faith's near fully transparent appearance, "Somethin' up with her skin."

Every moment that passed seemed to fill Gio with restless energy. Just standing around waiting for everyone else to get everything else done wasn't sitting right with him. He really didn't want to intrude on whatever Eve or Gil were doing. The two of them focusing on equally important tasks as far as the burial ceremony went, which really left him with one potential thing for him to do in this whole situation. Or assist with.

"George, I must insist that you not do that by your lonesome," Gio interjected when the Paradox volunteered to dig Peter's grave. "Two sets of hands work more efficiently than one, no? If we work together, we can get it done in half the time, you won't be so fatigued and the sooner Peter can be put to rest." As he spoke, Gio started to undo his jacket. Unlike George who was covered in blood and filth already, the emendator was relatively clean, and he would much rather keep it that way. His jacket, vest and tie were all removed, folded and placed somewhere that looked least likely for them to get stepped on.

Lastly, the Emendator rolled up his sleeves up to his elbows as he returned back to Nancy and George. The Watch may have been the oldest of the lot as far as appearances went, but he was by no means elderly as far as his health and raw physical capabilities went. Of course he was no musclebound Adonis like Gil was in most of his guises, but his lean physique was well equipped for what was needed at that moment.

Alexandra Andonova

Oops, I did it again...

Location: Ville au Camp - Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

The grin fell from Alexandra's lips at the thoroughly less amused demeanor of the former pig wonder James. You could say that she knew that look all too well. It was the look that often followed her opening her big mouth yet again. She never meant any offense by what she said. She just had a tendency to make light of whatever tricky situation that came her way. It was a coping mechanism really. But it seemed that some people just couldn't take sarcasm, especially her perhaps messed up brand of it. Oh well. She wasn't going to change who she was just to suit people better.

She let her hand fall back down to her side as her courteous gesture was blatantly ignored. She glanced over at Alicia as James chose to ignore her and speak with the other Paradox. She kept herself from rolling her eyes and instead looked back over at the spectacle that was the disappearing girl Faith. Her eyes widened slightly in wonder. Talk about a nifty power! If you were the type of person who preferred to keep to themselves, it would definitely be an appealing ability. Alexandra personally would find invisibility too lonesome, though it would be enjoyable upon occasion if just for sneaking up on people.

Alexandra glanced back over at James when he finally said something to her after their "awkward" silence. She arched a brows at his words. "You don't say?" she stated. It wasn't lost on her that he wanted to be rid of her. Fine then. Be that way, she thought to herself stubbornly. She lifted her chin slightly then spun on her heels and walked away in the direction of the invisible girl.

Bartholomew Rosecliff

Location: Ville au Camp - Kitchen House
Skills:N/a

Bart was about to open his mouth to say he was asking for a clarification, when suddenly, the world started fading out. Feeling a sense of excitement, that this might be whatever his ability is, he eagerly looked on. He found himself in a grassy field now, with a man holding a can standing in the center. He wanted to walk up and ask him if he had any idea what was going on, when something absolutely horrendous happened. He looked on in horror, as the mans stomach began to be torn to shreds, gashes of flesh being ripped and sinew being forced apart. He screamed, falling back on his ass, as he pushed himself further away from the bloodbath in front of him. He forced himself to look away as the world was covered in a flash of brilliant white light, before the world spun around him, leaving him gripping the ground tightly, tears streaming down his face.

Once the world calmed down, Bartholomew looked up to see Lady Evelina sitting next to the body of the man. He wondered if he'd be watching her revive him, but alas, this was to have a much more somber ending. He noticed the other Emendators with her, standing next to her. Furthermore, she was covering the mans face. He frowned at this, unsure what to make of it. It did seem however, that she must have known him somehow. He forced himself up. He had no idea what was going on exactly, but whoever it was, the Emendators seemed to mourn the death of this man. He wished that he knew who he was exactly, but that could be something to investigate later. They clearly needed time to grieve.

Having thought he was done, he was surprised when another flash came over him, and he found Alicia staring at him, but not where they were before. He was just kind of floating now, in a kind of black void. He cocked his head at her, when she asked if his question was fucking answered, tactful as always. He gave a quiet nod. Whatever was happening right now, was more important than him. It was also at this moment that he realized that this was, in all probability, not his power, but somehow related to Alicia's. He did remember she could interact with people's dreams, and maybe that meant inducing them in some way too. As he considered this, the world blended back into view, leaving him standing where he was.

It was at this point, that Bartholomew promptly threw up. He had maybe a second to try to keep it down, but that was to no avail. He had just seen a man murdered, the first corpse he'd seen in his life, and in a gory detail he'd never even imagined. He fell to his knees, and coughed. He placed his hand on his face to find it wet with tears. He sputtered, trying to get the taste of vomit out of his mouth, before using his sleeve to dry his face, saying, "You know what? A drink sounds pretty damn good actually." Which granted, was unusual for him, but damn if what just happened wasn't a capstone to the endless amount of insane bullshit that he'd been through today.

Nancy Parker & Andromeda Aldrich

Location: Ville au Camp - Main House (201) - Headed to the Mill
Skills: None

Nancy turned and followed George, deciding that if anyone needed her, they'd know where she'd be. She wasn't one to stick strictly to rules or protocol. Her heart told her to keep George company and that was precisely what she decided to do. Sure, there could be other courses of action that might have had better outcomes - but this was the one she felt suited her and she wasn't about to change her mind. Her choices had gotten her this far, after all - why start doubting them now?

"Think you're getting a bit bad at math in your old age, Gio," Nancy teased. "I count three of us - unless you're meaning you two dig the grave while I watch?" she added, raising an eyebrow. She wasn't opposed to physical labor. Sure, her preferred method of exercise was getting a bike appropriate for the time period and trying out new stunts and tricks on it. She had vague plans to at one point get up onto the roof of the main house and see if she could ride her bicycle up there, popping one of the wheels up and the like. And the more Nancy thought on it, the more she realized that even before she lived with the other Emendators, she'd sometimes trick people into taking care of manual chores for her. They just weren't that interesting - but George was her friend and her gut told her to pitch in.

She did manage to resist pointing out to Gio that had Peter been alive still, he could have helped him with his math.

Meanwhile, Andromeda followed Eve into her room, taking a moment to look around. It was rich with history and she couldn't help but smile slightly, looking at the objects and decor with fascination. She couldn't help but notice a few familiar faces - the other Emendators. The one with the Cards amused Andromeda slightly - she had only seen Nancy in a prison outfit, after all. Her eyes flickered over to a pair of broken glasses. She wasn't sure what to make of them - but experience told her they probably were incredibly important. People didn't keep things like that otherwise.

"It's okay, I just came from a place with a lot of death," Andromeda admitted. To her vantage point, she had seen someone be gunned down by a sniper a few hours ago - and before that, the young girl the police thought murdered her father had shot someone in her hotel. "But I do have a question - and I know this might be rude but...logistically speaking, if you bury him, what happens to him when the loop resets? Does his body just...vanish? Or does it somehow stay there even with everything going back to how it was?" Andromeda asked. Her natural curiosity was starting to come back, though her mind was still reeling with the knowledge that she had died.

Alicia Gonzalez

Location: Ville au Camp - Kitchen House
Skills: Empathy

Seemed a lot of people were in the mood for a drink and Alicia couldn't blame them. It was a big day, a lot had happened, a lot more was happening, and some still had not presented yet. This was going to be a long evening. She remembered her first day on the grounds and it was a lot to take in. Even arriving as the only one of the day. This was a large group which added to the chaos and complicated things. She still wondered why Evelina had chosen to bring so many to the table today but whatever the reason was she was sure that Lady Luck had a reason. The woman never seemed to do anything without having a plan, and a back up plan, and rethought said plan fifty times.

Looking over at Faith she smirked a bit. "That is some crazy shit. Ever see that movie League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? Let's hope it doesn't work like that," she chuckled a bit before shrugging. "No idea. For me, things stopped when I calmed down and got stronger when I got pissed. Should have seen the shit I sent out in dreams by mistake the first week. Fucking nightmares chica," she said before glancing back over at Bart and having to stifle back a laugh. "Granted sometimes the truth is far more fucked up than anything I can imagine," she said as she crossed her arms over her chest. Seemed she got the point across to the man.

Stepping fully inside the Kitchen House, Alicia went into a cupboard and pulled out some mason jars full of white liquid and some empty smaller ones. "Good fucking thing about Emendators, they can get anything," she said as she set the jars down and turned a label to face James. Holloway was on the label. She grinned slightly as she straddled a chair and unscrewed a top. The smell was intense and made her reel back a bit. "Damn that is some strong shit. Take it slow..." she warned but had the warning come too late?

While Alicia was dealing with Paradoxes living, George needed to prep a hole for a dead one. He looked over at Gio and nodded slightly. "Mmm, thank you," he said. He had already started from the place he had set Peters body down on the road towards the Mill but he stopped to speak before continuing. He would need shovels before heading down to the trees near the waters edge. He wouldn't mind the help and was thankful Gio was willing to help. The two were not the closest but he respected the man and knew better than to think just because Gio looked to be the oldest that he would have any problem digging a hole.

Seemed Nancy was coming as well and he couldn't help but let a small smile form on his face at her words. She was a feisty and there was something about her that he enjoyed being around. At least enough to be comfortable around her, like a sister. The mill wasn't far and it shouldn't have taken anytime at all but as he opened the door to the mill there was he sound of a snap and slowly he turned around to look back at Nancy. If he could. There was tin pie plate and whip cream stuck to his face. The pie plate slowly slipped from his face but the cream, was not going anywhere right then, at least not quickly. "Yours or Alicias?" he asked as he licked his lips and stood there.

Evelina Lucas

Location: Ville au Camp - Main House (201 -> 106)
Skills: Administration, Diplomacy, Memory Training, History

Evelina turned her head with a quickness, to where it seemed as if it would nearly snap. Eying Andromeda for a moment before the slightest of smiles tugged at the corner of her mouth. It was a rare twinkle in her eye before she spoke. "Now that my dear is a right brilliant inquiry. When a body is buried within a loop it remains, just as we do. When the loop is broken time is just how it is. For example, say we live here for the next forty years before we must break this loop. When this loop is broken, this time, this place will just become November first, nineteen hundred and forty three. Only moving forward that split second before time continues as it does. His body will remain and then begin its traditional decay within the earth at that time."

As Evelina spoke it was without a hint of emotion, as if she was delivering a lecture to a class instead the death of one that was like family and what would have to his body personally. The woman had to maintain a form of detachment in her life. With as much life and death that she dealt with, that came at her hands despite having no control when the skill decided to act, it was a form of self preservation that without she might very well have been driven mad some eons ago. Yet some could argue that she was mad to continue on as she had through out the centuries. Madness though was in the eye of the beholder, at least that was what she had heard one say before. Granted he disliked being called mad so perhaps that was why he said such things.

Unbuttoning her jacket, she began to disrobe. It was a tedious process in the attire that she favored. Zippers were not something she favored. Thankfully in this time and place, the modern zipper was still a young thing. Buttons were key and it seemed that Evelina chose garments that had more than their fair share. The fact she could undo the smallest of them even with her nails long and filed to near talon like points seemed rather impractical. That was until someone watched the way she dispatched of each button. The way she used the pointed and curved tips of her nails to work as a button hook once would to make quick and simple work of each small fastening. In the end it was a rather practical reason to have nails the way they were. Now why they were painted navy blue, that was just styling there.

As she changed she glanced around her room some what, looking at the pictures and items she had collected over the long span of her life. "One my believe that due to their age and my own that the bow was always my preferred weapon and yet it wasn't until time rolled into the years known as anno domini that I truly found a respect for them. Before that, they were nothing more than a necessity. Though perhaps a shield and spear would have been more fitting considering the time spent in Sparta and Scandinavia." She spoke as she dressed, checking to ensure her hair was still pinned properly in place, and adjusting the bow on the apron she now wore.

"So, tell me my dear. What time period intrigues you the most?" she asked as she stepped to the door and opened it. It was a purposed question as she motioned for Andromeda to follow her. Making her way through the house towards another room. The question could let her infer some things about one of her newest Paradoxes. Yes she could focus and see every moment of the womans life, moments she had herself forgotten, yet she couldn't read the womans mind. Just because someone lived through something didn't mean you knew what they were thinking at that time.

Seeing Gilbert there as she rounded the corner Evelina gave him a slight nod. It seemed that he was lost in a pondering. "Thank you," she said, gratitude laced in her voice as she spoke. Stopping at the door marked 106 she rested her hand on it and tilted her head to the side a bit before glancing towards Andromeda. "You do not have to enter the room with me but I must prepare the body now." It was another matter of fact statement, a warning of what laid within. Turning the handle she pushed the door open and stepped inside.
