I think... at this point, I should probably accept this whole thing. I'm withdrawing from the RP. While I do quite enjoy all the shenanigans, and I love the story, I'm simply not giving it the dedication it deserves, and I'm going to have even less time to do so in the near future. So, thanks, Zeroth, for having me, and thank you *everyone* for the laughs, but Scott's stepping back for now. See you around.
@Zeroth hey just giving you a heads up, im going to be gone from the 2nd to the 12th of November so Ardur is just going to go sleep in his little cave with his spider friend after the next update until I get back.
Alright, assuming the Timeskip is going to for an entire day, and also be broken down into three parts - Shelter Building/Hunting Gathering, Teaching/Training, Personal time/development.
During the building, Torrent and Digbie will be constructing most of the base. A medium sized underground building, far enough away from the stream that if it rains and overflows, it won't flood, but close enough that traveling for water would be easy. The base itself should have a larger main circular room, with a small indentation in the center for a fire pit. Several other rooms will be constructed off to the side. A Large 'training area' where we can practice skills without the danger of potentially burning down the forest. Two or three personal rooms, including a medium sized room for Ash and some experiments.
Meanwhile, Oberon and Mourn will go out and hunt/gather, as well as explore the surrounding area to bring back some fresh meat, and trying to do so by bringing the specimens as intact as possible. Ash would like to study them.
For the training/teaching part, these are the skills people want to learn and who they want to learn them from.
Ash Poison skills from Torrent Tremor sense from Digbie Mana Slice from Mourn Shield and Mana Orb, Meditate from Oberon
Torrent Tremor Sense from Digbie Meditate from Oberon Analysis skills from those who have them
Oberon Fireball from Torrent Mana Slice from Mourn Sacred Ground from Digbie
Mourningstar Mana Dart and Meditate from Oberon Fireball from Torrent Stone Shot and Rock Spire from Digbie
Digbie Analysis Skills from those who have them Mana Orb from Mourn Turn Mana Orb into Mana Shield Meditate from Oberon
Below is some specifics related to each PC as it relates to their specific part, activities, and particular methods for training.
First Phase - Ash will forage around the construction site for edibles and plants, using all of her analysis skills on anything she finds. She'll construct a small pile of edibles and non-edibles outside of the base. She won't stray extremely far from the construction site, and will also keep an eye out in case something decides to jump them. She will use all of her analysis skills on anything she might find of interest. Anything toxic or poisonous she finds, she'll put in a third pile and tell the others to definitely not touch.
Second Phase - Firstly, Ash will learn Meditate from Oberon until she succeeds. An important skill that will help with furthering her magical abilities and studies. After that, she'll first go to Torrent and attempt to learn all the different poison related skills she has, followed shortly by tremor sense from Digbie, Mana Slice and Mana Shape from Mourn, and Shield and Mana Orb from Oberon. She herself, will also try and help the others with analysis skills as they need them.
Shield and Mana Orb, Meditate: Meditate would be first priority. As stated above, she would do it until she succeeded, regardless of how long it took. Focus on slowing the breathing, and trying to draw ambient mana from the surrounding area into herself to replenish her own reserves. Mana orb would be next, Ash would attempt concentrating her mana into a visible form in front of her, attempting to use her tail as a sort of 'focus' as one might use their hands for spell casting or gesturing. She would continue until succeeds, using more mana as needed. Low priority would be shield. After having learned Mana Orb, she would try instead of attacking with the orb, but to expand and use it to attempt placing a circular shield made of mana around herself.
Poison Glob, Poison breath: Will listen to Torrent's words on how she does each of the different abilities. As the Pygmy Drake lacks venomous fangs to attack with, a little creativity will be needed. Poison Glob would be the easiest, by attempting to emulate Torrent's ability except using her own stinger to deliver the attack. This would be attempted by altering a shot 'Venom Shot' into a larger mass. Poison breath would be attempted by altering Poison Spray's stream into a wider area, attempting to create a mist-like effect that would cover a large area and still be expelled with some force.
Tremor Sense: She would at first, attempt to do what the goblin instructed after observing and listening to any instruction he'd have on trying to use it. Feel the earth and the tremors beneath her. Failing that, she would attempt to use her Mana and slowly trickle it into the ground before trying to return it like an echolocation sort of effect.
Mana Slice & Mana Shape: After hopefully successfully learning Mana Orb from Oberon, these would both be much easier. Ash would attempt to compress the orb down to a thin, blade like shape. She would continue until succeeded. Assuming Mana Shape would eventually be gained along with this skill, as it would involve shaping mana in a particular way to succeed in doing anyways.
Third Phase: Assuming everything goes semi well and there is some free time left in the evening, Ash would gather some wood form outside, flying up to the tops of trees and cutting down some branches near the burrow using Mana Slice. Get a good, sturdy looking branch Afterwards and practice flying. Afterwards, return to base and pile whatever animal bodies that Mourn and Oberon brought in her room. Proceed to dissect and study them, using Alchemy Analysis on all the specific parts. Eyes, tongues...etc.
If there's any time left, would practice developing lesser force well into the night, and start trying to use her tail to hold one of those branches. Would start sleeping only a few hours before dawn.
First Phase - When Oberon and Mourningstar are hunting and gathering he is going to focus more time on finding fruit and vegetables than on hunting for meat. He is going to use Magic and Monster Analysis on any plant or creature he does not recognise and he is going to try and temper Mourn’s aggressiveness and prevent her from attacking a creature without first analysing it and coordinating an attack. This may or may not work.
Second Phase – When everyone is trying to teach each other skills Oberon is going to first teach everyone Meditation; he will emphasise that this is the most important skill to learn in the long run and will make all of their later training easier. After that he will offer to teach people Minor Heal and Shield along with anything else people ask for. He is going to try and learn Fireball from Torrent, Mana Blade from Mourningstar and Sacred Ground from Digbie in that order of priority.
Fireball: He will first observe Torrent using the skill to try and add to the information he has already gathered. Then he is going to try and recreate it as he saw it, starting by trying to create the fireball from scratch. If this is not successful he will switch to trying to first create a Mana Orb and then igniting it/converting it to a Fireball. He will continue until he succeeds.
Mana Blade: After observing Mourn using the skill Oberon will start with a Mana Orb and use Mana Shape to try and form the same crescent-shaped blade that Mourn was using. This will basically be similar to how he created the Mana Dart skill, only using Mourn’s version as a guideline. If this takes too long he will abandon this skill for now.
Sacred Ground: As this is the skill he has the least prior experience with it will likely be the hardest to learn. He will analyse Digbie as he uses the skill and analyse the magic circle on the ground as well. He will try and create his own circle and replicate what he saw Digbie do. If this fails he will try and infuse the ground within the circle with nature mana like his healing spells. I’m assuming this is a combination or earth and nature mana, or maybe just nature, so he will use his knowledge of Minor Heal and Lesser Status Heal along with what he remembers from analysing Stone Shot to try and do something similar. If this takes too long he will abandon this skill for now, but will likely try longer than he did for Mana Blade.
Third Phase – Once he has taught everyone the skills they want to learn and he has at least learned Fireball he will move on to individual training and will attempt to learn the following skills in the following order of priority. If he runs out of time, i.e. if it gets dark then he will stop.
Lesser Force: Oberon will begin by gathering a few small stones to practice on. He will then attempt to move or lift the stones using his mana, visualising wrapping his mana around the stones and lifting them up and down. If this does not work he will move on to using Danny’s idea of visualising a hand doing the manipulating. He will continue this until he succeeds.
Spell Chant: Oberon will try to use the Spell Chant ability to enhance a simple spell like Mana Orb. He will repeat the same chant and fire the Mana Orb and seeing what the effects are, if there is an increase in power or in the mana used to perform the spell. He will start with simple chants and increase in complexity and length as time goes on, with the end result being something like “Expression of purest force; simple in form and modest in purpose; seek out my enemies and destroy them; carry forth my will and vanquish them; strike them down with magical might”. He will continue this until he succeeds.
Light Ring: Disregard this if he has already learned Light Ring from his previous efforts. He will continue creating the Light Ring starting with Mana Orb and will continue trying to use the spell as a projectile. If this continues not to result in anything he will then cast Shield III on himself and attempt to use the Light Ring on himself, placing it over his head and shoulders assuming it is wide enough to do so.
Minor Regeneration: He will continue his efforts from before the Goblin fight, attempting to cast a spell in the manner of Shield using Nature mana to coat the target, himself in this instance, with a veil of healing magic.
General Notes – If Oberon ever runs low of mana he will mediate until it is restored, finding an area where the sunlight reaches the ground and sitting in it to take in energy faster. Throughout the process of creating skills he will regularly check his skills tabs to see if he has made any progress or how close he is to finishing the skill; if he sees progress is being made he will continue with that method, but if he sees no progress he will either change methods or move on to something else unless I have said he will continue until he succeeds.
First Phase- Mourningstar will be grinding Magic Analysis and Monster Analysis on pretty much everything she spots, helping Oberon gather fruits and veggies whenever possible. She won't shy away from hunting for meat however, but she will try and listen to Oberon whenever he wants to coordinate an attack and practice caution. But she won't back down if she is sure she can win a fight either. She also grinds Suppress Presence while hunting, dimming her light as much as possible and doing her best to stay quiet.
Second Phase- Mourn will make sure to emphasize while teaching Mana Blade and Mana Orb, that these skills are merely the first and second steps towards learning more complex magic in the future. Both skills can be altered in an unthinkable number of ways, making it the perfect first spell in any casters arsenal. She also makes sure to emphasize the importance of Mana Shape in the process, trying to convince everyone to at least try and learn the first rank of it, considering that shaping mana is very important if one is to give it an edge.
Meditate: Not exactly the hardest skill to learn, Mourn is surprisingly receptive to the idea of sitting still and doing nothing for long stretches of time. It was a big part of her past life as a programmer, so she is used to it. She uses Magic Analysis on Oberon while he uses it, then basically does the same thing as he does.
Mana Dart: She will of course use Magic Analysis on Oberon as he forms the Mana Dart, then proceed to use Mana Shape to form the same dart that Oberon produces. Pretty much the same thing that she did for Mana Blade, nothing too revolutionary.
Fireball: First she'll use Magic Analysis on Torrent while she does this, trying to grasp the feel of "Fire Mana" so she can isolate it and use it for the future. Afterwards she will try and inject that Fire Mana into Mana Orb, forming it in her mouth and then firing it like one would a Fireball.
Stone Shot and Rock Spire: Likely the hardest spells for her to master, she would try and sit down on the floor and do as Digbie does, using Magic Analysis on him when he does the spells and doing her best to recreate it. She also tries to get a feel for "Earth Mana", so she can use it in the future.
Third Phase: Assuming everything goes well and there is time left before everyone needs to sleep, Mourningstar will then focus on trying to alter old spells into something new.
Stone Bullet: She will attempt to condense Mana Orb as much as possible while infusing it with Earth Mana, forming a solid ball of Mana that does extra piercing damage.
Fire Wave: She will also attempt to inject Fire Mana into Mana Slice, turning it into a wave of fire rather than just a pure cut.
Mana Sword: Finally, she will focus on creating a solid sword made of mana, something she can hold and swing rather than fire.
Additional Notes: Throughout all of this she will be using Meditate regularly to refill when needed, along with focusing on her inner Taboo. She also offers up her five skill points to the Demon King, attempting to apologize for her teammates annoyances and just trying to make herself stand out from the crowd.
Digging a cave with multiple rooms, especially if one is meant to be large and open as a training area, will require some method of bracing the tunnels and ceiling. Given the environment that pretty much means wood, unless you guys want to try having Digbie chant his Rock Spire enough to make it longer and thus establish stone pillars. Otherwise, what would be your attempted methods of gathering trees/wood?
I think the others summed it up well enough, and the only thing I really have to add for Torrent in "section three" is that she's going to focus on getting Glob leveled up and try to get Muffle III if possible. She'd be testing Fire Breath of there's time to try and extend the effect.
As for the issue you mentioned above, we discussed it in the discord and decided the best course of action would be to build it while leaving in support pillars. That way we don't need outside supplies and the structure will hold itself up.@Zeroth
Hold on there fellers I'm still gonna post some specifics for Digbie.
BEFORE ANYTHING GOES ON, DIGBIE'S GONNA GET A DRINK FROM THE STREAM.
It may not be the purest water but assuming he still has monster anatomy he should be able to stomach a small bit of it, quenching his dehydration.
Phase One Digbie, with the help of Torrent, is happy to dig out the base. He wouldn't mind also throwing/chanting a few Rock Spires around for bracing the base with since there won't be much to work with, even with the added affects of built-in-pillars. When he runs out of Mana, though, that's when he'll just resort to digging away as best as he can until he gets back some magic from not using it over time. He'll also be recommending that Mourn and Ash try to help dig as well, since that's how he got his understanding of the Earthy moves he uses.
Phase Two Since this widely seems to be the "training time", Digbie's first gonna go hang out with Oberon and learn how to Meditate, moving from there to Analysis skills, and finally ending the main training at Mana Orb, as well as comply with the requests from the rest of the
Meditate Pretty straightforward, Digbie's gonna sit criss-cross-applesauce style and just focus on replenishing his magical supply. Digbie is also not afraid to use drawn circles to try and heighten the effect of his Mana Regen, and thusly increase how fast he can learn the meditation.
Analysis Skills He's just gonna intently watch as others train through magical ways, as well as study the party in general, taking everything he can into account. From known skills he can remember people using, to effects from the environment like with Oberon, and finally their general character and disposition towards their goals. Hell, he wouldn't mind learning some of those from bonding over teaching.
Mana Orb The root to all Mana moves, Digbie's gonna attempt to focus the magical properties he has within himself into a physical form that can interact with the material world, or at least the magical world. Given his Mystic Variant, he may be able to do this easier than expected, but he's still gonna give it all he can as if he was learning from nothing.
Phase Three The main phase where Digbie's gonnna apply what he already knew and what he's gained. Working towards a Mana Shield (Or Earthy Shield, that works too), and making some progress towards Mana Strike.
Mana Shield Digbie's gonna ask Mourn to help him adapt Mana Orb into something that's more up his alley in exchange for Mourningstar getting experience with Stone Shot, provided they can learn it. As Mourn levels Stone Shot and adapts it into Stone Bullet, Digbie's gonna try and manifest his Mana Orbs to block attacks, pitching in some strength to a physical form with Soil Manipulation, giving the Mana Orbs more of a corporeal form, and with Magical Analysis being used to analyze what he's been doing wrong with it in an effort to continue forth on his ventures to being the party's defender. He is not trying to get Shield, he's trying to make a handheld shield out of Mana.
Mana Strike Digbie knows skill synergy exists, like with Stone Shot and a punch, so he's gonna experiment with combining Stone Shot and Mana Orb at once, seeing if that raises the power of the Mana Orb and maybe turning it into something a bit more powerful and offensive. He has a Mystic Variant, and he sure as hell wants to work towards total success in it.
Pants Or shorts, or whatever. Just something more protective of his gobbo bum.
Howdy folks! I just wanted to pop in and officially say hello! I've pretty much caught up with the ic posts and have been starting to form up a draft for a cs.

Hi Jollan. Unfortunately, this RP is full and has been for quite a while; due to the way the story is set up, mainly the fact that all of our characters were reincarnated at the same time, this isn't the kind of RP that you can just jump into at level 1. Having a new player join means figuring out what they have been doing this whole time, in almost as much detail as the posts we've all been making, and working out what skills and levels they would have as a result so that they are caught up.
This is a lot of extra work for the GM.
If you want to join you then your best bet is to send the GM a message and hoping for the best.
Okay, so during the week after she is born: She learns to eat the Healing Herbs, and this becomes her primary food source. She learns who Crispy and Rattleskull are, and sees how the other Goblins follow their orders and what they do--hunting, mining, gathering wood, and fighting with other monsters. She learns she's one of Rattleskull's children, but her mother gave birth to multiple goblins at once which is unusual and thus died from it. Her "twin" can either be an unnamed goblin who's died by this point, one of Orchid's torchbearer NPCs Sqwal or Jezee, or the other character Digbie. However, she's learned by watching every other goblin's behavior that siblings don't really have bonds and neither do children towards their parents. The goblins act as one tribe, one family so to speak, but also don't act as a close knit and caring family. They are out for themselves first and foremost, and out for Goblins after their own needs have been met. And the rest of this time is spent surviving by instinct.
On the 1st Day, she "awakens," and takes a more proactive stance in this world. She is forced to do hard labor after offering to help the goblins carry wood. Her weakness and gentleness is ridiculed and laughed at. She learns to try and stay unnoticed or in the background. She still ends up forced by Crispy to help other goblins mine Mana Crystals. In the process they're attacked by a Dire Rat, and if it weren't for being in a group she would not have survived. It bit and wounded her pretty badly, but the other goblins pulled it off and killed it. While mining she learned more about the Mana Crystals, but was unable to keep one because Crispy took it. She also found some shale rock that splits into layers easily, and from this she fashioned her brittle but workable Stone Shield. Lugging it around was very difficult due to its weight, and the other Goblins laughed at her for it. When Rattleskull forces her and a few other Goblins to go hunting, she does so obediently and the group encounters a Wisp. She gets hit several times by its magic, and once again proves too cowardly and soft hearted to finish it off so the other goblins have to kill the creature again. They make fun of her weakness even more and Rattleskull becomes disgusted enough with her that from this moment he pretty much ignores her. At some point her shield breaks, leaving her with only a Sharp Stone. The stone is, however, pretty good quality as the nature of shale made it break into a very keen edge. Deciding to run from the Goblins after seeing only brutality and ridicule from them, she finds a little nook off in some unexplored part of the cave and hides in this crack in the wall. Upon venturing out from it to get some food and water near the pool, she meets a Pixie. Their play date doesn't go well and she eventually runs back to her shelter. She doesn't want to fight, but is eventually forced to do so. She just wants the creature to go away, but doesn't know that Pixies are actually very physically fragile. When she hurls a stone at it, she almost by dumb luck hits it right in the head--and crushes its skull. This first and only kill combined with her other experiences thus far grants her the first Level Up. Assuming she may not spend it at first as she might not understand what it is, she sneaks back to the Goblin camp to steal some rudimentary tools and then uses these to make her shelter a little larger on the inside. All of this hard work leaves her tired and she can sleep soundly and safely through the night.
So she's now Level 2. Her Maximum HP increases, and she has 5 Skill Points to spend. Skill points work like decimal points, a skill starts at 0.1 once it's unlocked and when it passes 1.0 it becomes "active," and further skill points will go towards progressing it to the next rank. Her current unlocked skills and their progress are like this:
And by stealing from the goblins she got a Wooden Pickaxe and a Hard Stone. By using her Sharp Stone, the remainder of her shield, she is able to undo the binding on the Wooden Pickaxe to split it into a Gnarled Stick and a Curved Stick. She can use the Gnarled Stick as a club on its own, and by reusing the bindings she cut she can tie the Hard Stone to the Curved Stick to make another club that does more damage, but isn't as durable. Her Sharp Stone is getting duller now, and of course she doesn't have her shield anymore.
Skill Gain: Stronger I! You have grown stronger through tough training! Tear muscles down, and rebuild them anew! Your physical power stats have increased! By gaining at least one rank of Faster, Harder, and Better, Skill Synergy will occurr and you will gain one rank of Physical Conditioning.
Skill Gain: Crafting I! You may craft very simple items from simple materials. Your knowledge and understanding of mechanics, workmanship, and other such things enable you to craft better items. The process of creating many items is still an unknown to you, but if you ever succeed in such a creation its Sub-Stat Enhancements will be higher than normal.
That's what she would see in the System message after distributing her points. Stronger is a Passive ability, she doesn't have to activate it or spend any MP on it. Her base strength is just better now. Crafting has to be activated but there's nothing special she has to do--once she starts crafting an item it just takes effect.
So the next morning she wakes up, she sharpens her Stone and makes her two clubs. Sharp Stone will do the most damage but has the shortest range and has lower durability. The Gnarled Stick does the lowest damage but has the highest durability and decent range. The Curved Stick+Stone club has the longest range, does more damage than the Gnarled Stick, and is more durable than the Sharp Stone but less durable than the other stick.
She gets a System Notice that she is Hungry and Thirsty, and of course she can feel both of these things as well. However she's no longer with the goblins, and to get to the pool and find more healing herbs to eat she'll have to leave her shelter. --- She's able to sneak around the goblin camp, since on the second day many of them end up working to clear the cave's entrance of a cave-in and Crispy only has a few guards around. The other players work to ambush him at some point on this day, so she's got a few opportunities to get in there and grab a few pieces of wood. She gets this system note while crafting:
You used Crafting I! Without the Material Analysis skill, you can't be sure of the qualities of your items and materials. Firewood + Firewood + Old Root + Short Stick Your crafting methods won't reduce the chance of item degradation. You created an item! Obtained Item: Firewood Shield! An X shaped shield, formed by simply lashing split firewood together in a cross and tying on a handle. It is very vulnerable to fire and quite heavy.
On her way to the pool to fish, she's attacked by a Wisp. Her shield takes some damage during the fight with it, but she kills it with her club since Wisps can't take physical damage very well much like Pixies. When she tries to fish in the pool, she's unable to catch anything as she isn't skilled enough yet to actually hit one with this method and her swinging and splashing scares the rest of the fish away.
She finds the same deposit of shale that she was able to make a shield from before, and with her clubs she's able to break off another layer. After returning to her home she's able to break it into the sharp bits, but she only has one more log that she stole from Crispy to work with. She can only split this log into 4 "stick sized" pieces and they don't seem all that sturdy. She barely has enough vines or roots left in her hole--unless she wants to try digging further into the wall and ceiling--to do her lashing. She gets this system note while crafting:
You used Crafting I! Without the Material Analysis skill, you can't be sure of the qualities of your items and materials. Short Stick (x4) + Old Root (x4) + Sharp Stone Shard (x4) Your crafting methods won't reduce the chance of item degradation. One of your items has a low durability, it is more likely to degrade during crafting. An item has broken! You created items! Obtain Items: Short Stone Spear (x3) A simple tool crated by lashing a sharp stone to a stick. Because it's shorter and lighter, it can be more easily thrown, but won't stand up well to the rigors of battle.
She doesn't have enough wood left to attempt your idea to recreate her shield. And by this point the Goblins have left the cave completely to prepare for their "war" on the rest of the cave. The other player monsters are doing their own preparations, and for the moment the rest of the cave is pretty much only being affected by NPC monsters.
If she calls it a day after this much, during the night she'll find it hard to sleep because of all the sounds of battle--goblins screaming and dying, magic spells being thrown about, at one point a fiery explosion, and the distant glare of burning torches. --- On her way to the battle she gets this notice:
Skill Gain: Muffle I! This skill grants you the ability to be just a little bit better at being stealthy, with a focus on reducing the sound of your movements.
But what would she do if, on her way back after venturing from her little hole, 3 Fanged Lizards appeared? They've been driven from their nests by the invading Goblins who are killing everything in their paths, so they're highly aggressive and running at her, hissing as they prepare their poison spit.
Ok, so after reading through both the ooc and ic in full, I have to say that this isn't just one hell of an RP, but one incredibly glorious train wreck of an adventure as well. I mean that as a massive compliment I swear.
In the few days it took me to read through everything (I had some free time believe me), I went from just being interested, to rooting for each and every character while simultaneously cringing at the unintended conflicts with baited breath as I hoped for everyone to make it to the end alive. Each character is quite distinct and fun to read about as they interact and pursue their own interests within the world.
And I'm just as impressed with the GM running all of this. The pace of the adventure is well managed and the way you've managed to keep everything moving without it getting absurdly hectic is quite skilled. And that's not to mention how you've kept track of how things are progressing as well. I just have to tip my hat off to you for the amount of worldbuilding, forethought, and work you've probably put in behind the scenes. Even with the sources of inspiration you've drawn off of, you've definitely made it your own with the twists and scale you've added.
Which is why, though I do want to join and will continue ironing out a character that I hope to someday play, I am content with waiting until the RP is open enough for another soul to be thrust into this chaotic and fantastic world you've all been exploring, though she would definitely be more then a little late to the party.
