Hobgoblin Zats

While Zats didn't immediately see how this Earth call (lesser) could be useful he was sure he would think of something. For now he wanted to show of his new skill and was happy to see Arch. "Hey, I've got a new..." However it seemed Arch was more interested in reading than in talking. Zats didn't blame him and knowing how firsthand how annoying it could be to read while someone was being distracting left him alone.

As he wandered through the church he decided he could show off tot he younglings but it seemed they too were busy with something actually important, talking about making a net in their case. Before moving on he gave them his opinion on the idea. "Not a bad idea, maybe you should try adding some weights though." Honestly he was impressed with how smart the current generation seemed to be. When he was their age he didn't have nearly as much clever ideas to help him prepare for the hunt.

Having said his piece he claimed a spot close to the wall and started showing off his new skill practicing Earth Call (lesser. Figuring that a pew was more impressive than a book he choose it as his target, but no matter how hard he tried he couldn't make it move. After a few seconds he gave up and instead tried it on a fistsized piece of rock.

Hobgoblin Gird
Another adventure >> Setting a trap /// Day 0 // Morning

Gird watched the bats carefully, there were many more of them then he thought there would be. On top of that the forest floor was a bit more open with some smaller trees but mostly the taller trees these bats where sleeping in. since the sunlight doesn’t reach the ground floor the plants didn’t grow as well. Only a few small ferns and sporadic large and small tree limbs dotted about.

Luz was quick to find him, at least she wasn’t being too loud. Gird knew they couldn’t take on the swarm with just the two of them head on they had to be smart about it. The hobgoblin didn’t say anything to her right away instead he was slowly looking around. Motioning her to follow the pale hobgoblin slunk back the way he came quietly trying his best not to awaken the swarm. He had an idea but it would take some prep work, but the payouts could be worth it.

Assuming that Luz had followed him back to a safe distance he still spoke in a hushed tone. I have an idea but we will need some of these sticks two or three our height or more placed between these trees between us and the edge of the forest.” His plan was going to be tricky and dangerous for sure, we will use the silk I can create, wrap it around the trees and the sticks. Create a sticky wall on both sides for them to get trapped in. the closer to the edge of the forest we get the narrower the passage until it’s just one tree length apart.” He paused for a moment to check their surroundings, “we will take the four best sticks we can find and weave them together and leave it laying just past the tree line so we can use it as a net to catch more of them. I’ll try to make a few more connections higher up the trees near the end as well.”

With a sigh he gave her a half smile, “don’t praise me yet because after we set it up there is one last thing we need to do. In order to spring the trap we need to piss them off. By throwing sticks or stones get them to chase us, then we get to figure out which one of us is faster like when we were born.” He hoped his counterpart was following along, if they did this and it worked they could come back with quite the haul and on top of that he already knew what this silk was capable of. He knew he couldn’t control it very well but he didn’t have to if he was just anchoring it around the tree by wrapping it around then weaving it through the trees and sticks at varying height’s. "if you agree then we need to get started just be quiet about it."

Summery: @Jangel13Gird found the bats and observed the vegetation, quietly falling back to tell Luz@demonspade64 his plan of making a spider web corral and net to trap the bats in after pissing them off and getting them to follow them (this was made by an assumption coming from his beast tamer skill to better understand beasts and how they will behave). Also told her how he was going to weave the spider silk in between branches and trees to make the walls stronger and about making a net at the end of the corral.

Hobgoblin Luz

@ReusableSword@Jangel13

Luz had suspected that the bats were not in the mood to be hunting, but even still she addressed him kind of quietly yet audibly enough to be heard by him. She then went with him as he explains his plan to uses sticks and webs to create a trap for the bats. She then smiling and nobbing at him "Sounds like a sound plan, I'll find the stick.".

“don’t praise me yet because after we set it up there is one last thing we need to do. In order to spring the trap we need to piss them off. By throwing sticks or stones get them to chase us, then we get to figure out which one of us is faster like when we were born.”

Luz couldn't help but frown a bit. "Oh dear, that actually sounds dangerous." She said before her putting her hand under her chin as she was thinking. "Hmm...i think it would be best if i do it." She stated casually. "After you are done making those webs you may not be 100%(Luz doesn't have the spin web ability)..." She calmly stated without any apparent fear."Though i do suppose we can talk about it after we are done making traps, Who know maybe I'll be able to set the traps close enough." She suggests before setting off to some of the Sturdy sticks.

Summary: Luz was not speaking loud when she appeared behind Gird. Afterward, she suggests that she acted as the bait before leaving to grab some sticks.

OOC: Also encase it still matter Gird would likely be faster since he can run on all of his limbs

Zats having been unable to move the pew instead looked to something else more manageable. He would once again find that his ability was only working on things that he himself could hold in his hands. As soon as he concentrated on the rock it started to move towards him quicker then the book now that he was getting used to this feeling and finding a tether in another item and then simply pulling it towards him.

@Darked13

As the goblin went to the books and found a book with pictures on it. He would end up seeing parts of the human body being explained and experimented on. Clearly as he went on this book appeared to be a medical book detailing surgery although it was directed at human subjects some of these things could be applies to his fellow goblins and hobs like setting a broken arm or leg. However, it seems that his lack of reading ability keeps from fully learning the depths of which he could heal others.

Goblin Arch learned Primitive surgery: This goblin has gained some small understanding into physiology and as such can perform minor medical actions like setting broken bones, stitching deep cuts, creating slings (For ones arms or legs when broken)

@TheMushroomLord

Once Argos has gotten his fill he had made sure that the pelt and the horn remained intact though that said nothing of what was left of the actual meat. He had proven he could hunt now but he didn't have any real use for the fur and horn but to them these were still valuable so maybe he could get one of the girls to come and help him. Not that he needed the help of course but if they kept thinking all day they would forget to eat. Once he collected what he wanted he went back to the church to see two hobs still here and the girl trio still around. He sighed loudly before he decided to just pick one to help him. He then went over to Aya the shy one and he gave her the pelt and horn and said "Lets go, talking and thinking to much wont fill your stomach. Don't think just do" he said simply grabbing her arm once she held both of the fur and horn and started to pull her out of the church to actually do something.

Grik

// Day 3 // Afternoon // Woods //

Interaction: @Haeo

Out from the underbrush came a hobgoblin that the young goblin Grik had not seen before, and initially he might have understood why they hadn't seen whoever this was as the hobgoblin had an unnerving appearance. Grik however wasn't deterred by the disturbing nature of his older sibling's appearance, and in the younger siblings eyes his older brothers appearance meant that the hobgoblin was obviously stronger than his goblin sibling.

Grik looked the hobgoblin up and down noting the objects he was carrying in hand "You are strong and I only respect strength so I will hunt with you brother." the young goblin spoke unwaveringly looking his brother straight in the eyes with his arms crossed, as well as his back straight in a stance of unshakable confidence showing his older sibling he wasn't afraid of his appearance.

"Now... this is a very interesting." It was definitely very good that he could fix up the goblins if they got too hurt. Even broken bones now, he relaxed a bit on the pew he was sitting on. He hmms, looking from the book to Zats, "Did you..." Arch's eyes pop open as he notices the rock and Zats focus on it, "How are you doing that?" He quickly places the book back onto the shelf before wandering over to Zats.

Hobgoblin Gird
Setting a trap >> Always on alert /// Day 0 // Morning

Gird nodded to Luz and gave her a smile. He began to work with the webs he created from his fingers the silly string like substance flowed uncontrollably at first but the hobgoblin was quickly able to at least control how fast it moved from his hands. He didn’t feel like the webs would run out, he didn’t feel some strange reservoir he was draining from. Gird was sure this was going to pull from his strength or hunger eventually but for now he felt no ill effects.

Globing up a bit of the web high up on a tree he used this as an anchor wrapping the web tightly around the tree once without tearing the web and moved to the next tree slowly wrapping the web slightly lower. He was sure to weave two to three sticks in between each gap to strengthen it. He moved the web strands lower each time until each gap had three to four strands through it.

Aside from stopping and remaining alert, often stopping mid strand and looking, listening, and smelling for danger. Gird was sure to keep quiet and diligently work at setting up the walls, changing its direction or changing how high or low it was off the ground. Randomizing the big trap to be as confusing as possible. He was sure that the bats wouldn’t think to have to deal with these issues unless they ventured into the spider infested forest. At least here they could bring one aspect of the spiders to them.

It was going rather smooth so far, he wondered if it was because of the devils luck they acquired some time ago. Either way he was almost half way finished with the long trap and was beginning to feel hungry again. At the very least he knew what spending all this web did do him, but he was getting better at using it.

“Luz.” He whispered to his friend nearby, she had been doing a marvelous job at getting the sticks he needed for this. “I’m starting to get hungry but I think I can finish the rest of this with some energy left over. I will help you draw them in and trap as many as we can but I might pass out after, unless we run into a problem.” Gird was still whispering to her and looking around. “I know it’s dangerous and quite possibly deadly if we make a mistake, but I feel the closer I am to death the closer I am to the goddess.” He wanted to make sure that she knew why he was doing this and then continued onto making the rest of the corral.

Summary: @Jangel13Gird began using his web ability to start making the walls in randomized configurations to possibly aid with disorientating his prey. Gird is starting to feel hungry again after using the web for so long but is keeping alert and pausing occasionally to make sure there is no danger nearby. He did whisper to Luz@demonspade64 about why he wanted to help bait the bats into the trap even if he felt tired, saying it made him feel closer to death and the goddess before continuing.

Hobgoblin Zats

Seeing how fast the rock jumped to his hand Zats figured out that he could probably use it to hit opponent from behind with it if they were in between him and whatever he used Earth Call (lesser) on. Just as he was about to try if if it even worked if something was in that position it seemed one of the other Hobgoblins noticed what he was doing. "Did you..." "How are you doing that?"

Not knowing about it being possible Zats went what he believed to be the obvious answer. "It's magic." As he switched his focus to a rock that should hit the pew if he "drew" it towards him he got another idea. One that would allow him to also learn if he could use the skill while distracted and maybe help get a new one. "If you want I could try to teach you in exchange for one of your skills"

Goblin Aya

One of the older goblins had pointed out to Aya the value of adding weights to her net when she built it. Of course she was already planning something along these lines, probably owing to the burst of information she’d received earlier, but now that she properly thought about it she realised she wasn’t sure where the proper balance lied. The heavier the weights were the harder the net would be to escape, and that would be important, especially considering the unknown strength of their prey, but at the same time, if they went too heavy then they wouldn’t be able to throw the net effectively in the first place. For that matter what was the optimal distribution of the weights?

Aya didn’t have time to draw a conclusion, for from seemingly out of nowhere one of her brothers appeared, shoved a pelt and horn into her hands, said something about thinking not being able to fill her stomach and began dragging her away from her sisters and out of the church. Was this brother an idiot? How did he expect her to survive without thinking? Wait, had he actually haunted a horned rabbit already? Did that mean the wildlife was weaker than she’d imagined or had this brother just gotten lucky? Well considering the number of siblings she had, Aya guessed it made sense that if they all flung themselves into danger at least a few might come out unscathed. Wait. Was that how goblins survived as a species? It suddenly made sense why they aged so quickly and somehow it was because of an even worse fate!

Aya didn’t particularly want to become another statistic in the presumably astronomical goblin death toll, but her brother did have a point on one thing, she would need to act eventually and as things were relying on this brother might just be her best chance at survival for the time being. Maybe she could even save his life while she was at it. Putting on her best attempt at charisma, which is to say adopting a grin befitting a slasher villain, Aya began trying to convince Argos not to throw them both headfirst at death, "Er- brother… I agree that thinking won't feed me, but I still think planning is important… think of it as hitting a horned bunny, if you’re strong you can whack it harder but if you’re smart you can use a tool or something and whack it better?" Aya didn’t know why she presented that last part as a question, "Brother killed a rabbit, so you’re probably strong, but you could also fight smart, and then you could hit harder and better. The best of both worlds."

Hopefully, that had been convincing enough, but that still left the problem of actually proposing and selling this goblin on a plan that wouldn’t see them both impaled, splattered, disembowelled or having suffered any number of other grizzly deaths by the end of the day. "I think I might be able to help you with the hitting better part," that was a lie, Aya wasn’t particularly smart by her own reckoning and she certainly didn’t think her ideas would be the game-changer she was trying to make them out as, "How about for now we don’t plan too hard and instead just look for something to hunt. If we find something that looks like it isn’t any stronger than a horned rabbit we can devise a plan to ambush it otherwise we can try making a trap for whatever we find?" That was a terrible, terrible plan and Aya could feel a tightness in her chest as her panic began to rise. There was so much that could go wrong and Aya was pretty sure she’d just suggested something that had a good chance of getting one or both of them killed, but given the circumstances, the speed things were moving at and the fact the goblins had clearly slotted into an evolutionary niche that same them dying in troves, she couldn’t think of anything else to do.

Hobgoblin Luz

@ReusableSword@Jangel13

Luz worked aside Gird suggesting places where he can place his web. Unexpectedly Gird was able to spin a lot more web than Luz expected which had her wondering rather not the Webs were created by some sort of nutrition, magic energy, or perhaps a combination of the two. Nevertheless, Gird had managed to place a good amount of web between the bat's nest and the final position of their plan. At first, everything seems to be going well that is entire Gird made a confession.

“I’m starting to get hungry but I think I can finish the rest of this with some energy left over. I will help you draw them in and trap as many as we can but I might pass out after, unless we run into a problem.”

Luz couldn't hope but show a look of concern, which was rare for her. She was actually questioning rather not Gird was putting on a front. She was actually planning on raising an objection before Gird said this.

“I know it’s dangerous and quite possibly deadly if we make a mistake, but I feel the closer I am to death the closer I am to the goddess.”

Luz took a question to think before opening her mouth to speak. "I-" She stopped herself after reconsidering. She then sighed. "Very well..." She said calmly before she begins untying the vine that keeps a skull hanging around her hip before handing it to him. "Here you probably going to need this more than i do." She told him handing him the skull. "I take it you got the Grave keepers spirit?" She assumes hoping that the Grave keepers spirit would allow him to mitigate the effect of his hungry. she then turns away from walking a little bit toward the Bat nest before saying. "But make no mistake...I will not forgive you if you ended up dying." She told him sounding fierce.

Honestly, she wanted to objection but it seems he well aware of what could happen if he pushes himself too hard. Plus Luz would be hypocritical if she denied him for if it were the other way around, she would want to do the same. The only difference would have been she would have kept quiet about her hungry and expect to be completely left behind if she ends up slowing him down. In a classroom, a young girl is sitting by herself while the other student was talking to each other. She turns her head to a group of girls who seems to be looking at her only for them to revert their glaze from her. She even doubts she would genuinely be missed that much though she doesn't know why she feels that way.

Once they were near the nest Luz grab two rocks and handed one to him. "That show about to start, once it does it will be too late to go to the restroom." She pointed out kind of jokingly yet quietly. She then quietly prayed to the goddess for if they are going to do something so risky they may as well try to get the full benefit from it. Once Gird is ready to start the show Luz would go into a throwing stance with a rock in hand then after Gird throws his rock Luz would use Pinpoint strike(level 2) to throw hers to try to hit one of the bats, afterwords the chase begins...

Summary: Luz gave Gird a skull to mitigate the effect of his hunger, then Luz has Gird throw the first stone before Luz you Pinpoint strike(level 2) slightly after to hit one of the bats.

Hobgoblin Gird
Always on alert >> Run away! /// Day 0 // Morning

Gird took the skull from his friend and nodded, “thank you, lets finish this up and see where it takes us.” He was quick to continue his work the skull resting snuggly inside his breast plate. Using what seemed like almost all of his energy to get the last of the web walls set up and the final net up and working. Stopping for a moment to dig a few small holes for their large makeshift net at the end of their corral. The net used the strongest sticks Luz found and Gird was sure to double layer it. The plan was to raise the net after they crossed it and hold on to stop whatever they caught from escaping.

With a few deep breaths the hobgoblin looked around at the traps and then back to his friend, “remember if this doesn’t work we split up and jump or slide over or under the walls to try and get them to follow us and get stuck. I’m sure the goddess will be watching over us.” With a few more deep breaths the pale one steadied his beating heart with a few more deep breaths then stood. A feeling of light headedness almost brought him back down to his knees and he had to catch himself on a nearby tree. He shook the feeling from him and continued to the trees near the bats.

Pulling the skull from his chest piece he placed it up to his head and whispered a short prayer, this one acknowledges your plight and thanks you for your energy, it will not be wasted and you will be remembered by the goddess Duvelna. His energy spiked while the skull turned to dust in his hands. Taking the stone from Luz he nodded. “Remember get to the end, wait for the other, raise the net, and hold on.” Gird peered out from the tree and focused on the colony of bats above them.

His target was a mother with a child, protective instincts ran strong in most social creatures. This was the most likely way to get them to follow as he saw it. Raising the stone in his hand he threw the stone using Bloody Strike on the mother bat. A yell followed quickly after to try and goad the bats into coming after him, “FOR THE GODDES!” that was all he needed to turn quickly and start moving toward the other end of their trap. Like usual the variant hob was using all of his limbs to run. Pulling and pushing mud and stone to propel himself father and faster. He was glad that they cleared the path of sticks while making this trap. One thing was for sure, this hobgoblin felt alive with adrenaline.

Summery:@Jangel13 Gird finished the rest of the corral and the net at the end. at this point he is starting to get tired but @demonspade64Luz gave him one of the few skulls she still had. with the extra boost from the skull Gird said a prayer then used bloody strike on a mother bat to attempt to get the colony more attracted to him through their possible protective instincts. after shouting at the colony to get the rest to follow he took off toward the end of the corral.

Kir

Day 0 || Morning || Church

Hmm, so that was the moon she'd seen. But the moon was also the domain of Duvelna, goddess of death, so that was equally interesting and strange. Shouldn't the moon be the domain of some sibling of Ramos or something? Unless Duvelna was...mmm, better not to assume that either. Either way it answered her questions nicely, so she gave a quiet nod to Grandpa before turning toward the front doors to exit. At this rate she could try to get a bow and cloak assembled, and of course a couple of really good arrows she could just recreate over and over again to shoot from the bow. Make the proper arrows of good quality though, just to make sure the recreations would hold up under use. She didn't want to have them-

"Lets go, talking and thinking to much wont fill your stomach. Don't think just do"
Argos

Jeez. Well, there was one of her loud sisters having a fur and horn slapped into her hands. Now she was being drug off by a grumpy brother out of the blue. Moron of a goblin. It was making an already frustrating start a bit more so, and just as she'd been getting back into a sort of good mood! Letting out a sigh, Kir walked over and promptly bonked Argos on the head lightly with one of her fists. Enough to hit, but not enough to try to deal real damage. Just something to get the dunce to stop for two seconds at least.

"Hey, dumbass, you could just ask one of us you know. Don't just drag people off. If you want help then follow me, I'm headed out to make myself a cloak and weapon anyways."

With a deep sigh, Kir then began to walk out of the doors, glancing back over her shoulder at Argos and Aya before continuing on walking outwards. Was she saving Aya? Not really. She just wanted to avoid another headache-giving situation along the way, and inviting her brother along was probably just going to make things simpler if the rest of the sister group came along. At least as compared to bonking him on the head with a sword, like she'd done to a certain sister earlier.

She'd already eaten her good fill of the other horned rabbits and berries already, so she was ready to go to get a weapon made and go hunting. Would be simple enough as it was. She'd help with the trap as well if the others didn't slow her down though. That meant more food and supplies for making things after all.

Summary: Kir walked over and bonked Argos (@Jangel13) lightly on the head with a first as he tried to drag Aya (@TheMushroomLord) out. She briefly lectured him about grabbing people for a brief second, before inviting Argos to come along with her as she goes out. Kir's intention is to go and make the best bow and the two best arrows she can and the best horned-rabbit-pelt cloak she can. This is so she can made good-enough quality recreations of the arrows to use them effectively, by making the original ones of a high quality, to go hunt a couple of rabbits in the woods with her bow.

If Argos comes along, she'll help him fashion the horn and fur of his dead rabbit into something after making her own stuff and before she goes hunting. If Aya and company come along, she'll help with the trap after finishing making the other things and going on her small hunt for a couple of rabbits.

bats en mass

The bats were quiet and didn't notice them until the mother bat that was struck gave a loud screech waking every one of its family up and if that wasn't enough that wasn't enough since the mother bat was now heavily bleeding the second bat that was struck hard was then screeching. That essentially rang the alarm for the groups of bats nearby. Soon enough they would see the little light that was in this part of the forest darken even more as the bats flew down almost like a giant shadow moving as one to kill what disturbed their sleep. Bats either flew high or low to the ground and constant screeching could be heard as they used it as echolocation to attack the monster that hurt them.

It seemed clear that even though the mother bat dropped from the ground thanks to the blood loss the sheer numbers of the weak bats would prove to be the hobs undoing if they didn't think fast...

@Duthguy@Darked13

As the goblin would pull the rock towards him he had the idea to see if he could throw it as a projectile. He soon focused once more to pull the rock but this time into the pew in front of it. When he would pull the stone he would hear the soft bonk as it hit the wood. It couldn't be pulled fast enough to make it a weapon that could do genuine damage to the wood or enemies but it proved he had an effective way of distracting or harassing an enemy if he used it right

@Crusader Lord@TheMushroomLord

He sighed as he was told by the shy one that it would be best if he fought smarter so he could have the best of both worlds. He stopped moving forward and he said "All I need is my fists, at least for right now. I know their must be ways to make my punch stronger but until then I fight with what I was born with" just as he was about to move her along he got a bonk on the head by another sister making him release Aya and at her words he couldn't help but growl loudly at her. He was visibly pissed at that and was struggling to keep himself from fighting her right out of the gate.

He figured it was better to prove that he was anything but dumb so he then said "Says the goblin that simply ate up the leftovers the hobs gave her, I don't need you or your help anyways! he growled turning the opposite direction he then said "I make my own way, follow or don't doesn't mean I'll care" he said with a huff as he started to head to the north east not knowing what would be waiting for him.

Skrik

Skrik's smile widened a little. This little cousin had a straightforward manner and a bold one at that. So he values strength that much. It was different from Skrik's own path, filled with nagging questions and curiosities about the mysteries of the world. Skrik wanted answers and options, various paths that would allow him to defeat foes that were stronger than he was. But, different paths do not always create conflict.

"Good, take what is yours and follow quickly." Skrik instructed, holding out the stout stick that he had found. "This too. It should make a good club for you with some work." With that said, Skrik waited only long enough for his instructions to be followed before turning away to head in the direction of the tribe's previous home. "My name is Skrik. When you get stronger, I'll ask for yours."

It felt strange and uncomfortable, being so domineering. But, Skrik's young cousin respected strength. So, that would be the goal. Both of them needed more strength. Strength should be rewarded, and recognition from someone stronger... that could be a potent reward for some. Besides, if this motivation worked in spurring his young cousin to more rapid growth then it would benefit all of them in the tribe.

Skrik set a pace that would not be easily matched by a goblin in the direction of the tribe's previous home cave. While he kept alert for danger, he was also looking for any exceptional wood to use for a spear shaft and common wood for javelins. He wanted something stronger than the common woods that were around. They were good for most foes, but that bear might demand a better quality weapon. He was also looking for the types of berries that the horned rabbits didn't eat. Their poison might prove a valuable addition to his options.

"I could teach you..." Arch pondered for a few moments... many moments actually. He rubbed his chin and scratched his forehead a few times before saying, "I could teach you how I wander around. It helps around when hunting and not being hunted. If you have the right weapon, can also help you get the first strike in." He pauses for a few moments, "I am sure that it can be helpful to you."

"Meanwhile this..." He motions to the rock, "This could truly help with distractions, you move a rock towards the enemy coming from a direction you aren't. And then you attack." He nods thoughtfully as he brings his fingers together, "This way even sneakier attacks could be made."

Hobgoblin Luz

The Chase

@ReusableSword@Jangel13

Luz smiled proudly when one of her rocks hit a bat. "Got one!" she cheered before turning around and begin sprinting the hell out of there with Gird, and Luz bolted hard; making sure not to leave behind Gird but to her surprise Gird kept up pretty well. "Stay beside me!" She told him before moving below as much of the setup webs as she can on their way to the final point, she didn't sprint under all of them but she sprinted through most of them.

"Almost at the final stretch!" She yelled before moving through the gap of the trees before grabbing her end of the net and rating it up just slightly for Gird to leap over the right half of it. Assuming there was enough time to spare would late until the last second she raise her end of the net as fast as she could in order to get trap as many bats as possible with the net, all while holding on to her end with all her strength and resolve even if it means being bitten the one who just happens to fly just close enough to her until she either could no longer or until there was no point of doing so anymore, afterword she would push the end down to trap whatever bats under the net along with those who got stuck to it.

Summary: Luz tried to lead the bat to as many of the web she could reasonably, before moving to her end of the net raising it up at the last second, holding it even if it means getting bitten before pushing the upper end of the net down to trap the captured bats under the net.

Hobgoblin Zats

Zats didn't have to think about Arch's offer, even if the skill he was about to learn wasn't one he would use it was better to have and not need it than the other way around. He once again tried to move one of the stones this time while explaining how he thought it worked."Okay, so I focus my attention on something small or light enough and just will it to come to me. No idea how or why." Hoping to avoid any questions he didn't have the answer to Zats freely admitted he was clueless as he actually did it, and hoped that his explanation was enough.

Lexie

Day 0 / Church -> Outside / Goblin

“Thanks for the story, Elder, it was an interesting one,” she offered him a clouse-mothed smile. She memorized the info about the gods, and thought about it. Given Kir’s ability to copy weapons, and some of the hobgoblins’ actions, magic was obviously possible. So, maybe gods existed too. Or maybe they were just powerful (maybe also dead) beings who liked being worshipped.

Which Lexie wasn’t opposed to the concept of deities or worshipping them, as long as she got something useful out of doing so. The one that interested her the most was Duvelna, the goddess of death and night. She supposed she could ask about her or worshipping in general sometime later.

For now, Lexie grabbed one of the hides at his feet and wrapped it around herself like a skirt. Well, it was more of a furry toga if anything, but it’d keep her warm and unexposed.

She returned to her sisters. Aya was talking about a new plan for her traps. “An ambush and a trap? Sounds good to me,” she said. “As for the weapon, pick whatever you like,” she shrugged.

Suddenly and in the middle of their conversation, one of their brothers came back inside, a rabbit’s horn and hide in his arms. He shoved the items at Aya and began dragging her away. “Hey!” Lexie shouted at the abrupt goblin brother. Before she could do much but step forward, Kir already got involved, confronting Argos by bonking him on the head and insulting him.

Well, at least that got his intention. Lexie sighed, and walked over. “Do what you like, but if you want to involve others, you should ask before just dragging them away, you know,” she pointed out to Argos.

After he left, she turned to her sisters. “I don’t know if we’re a good match with that guy, though he could probably come in handy in some way,” she said, shrugging once more. “For now…it’s time to head out, huh?” she asked, and glanced towards the gobs before heading towards the open exit. At the church’s door, she waited for her sisters, but also looked outside. She went just a few steps further, enough to be able to observe what was going on in the vicinity.

Some of her siblings were already out there, chasing rabbits nearby. There was grass, there were bushes and trees, and she assumed there were rabbits there somewhere too. Lexie hoped the others weren’t so loud that they’d already scared the rabbits away. If they had, she and her sisters might have to head further away from the church. If they could, she’d much prefer to find their prey as near as possible. As such, Lexie looked closely around, noting what was where and who was where. She thought about where the rabbits might hide if they wanted to do so and about where and how she could hide to surprise and catch or intercept them.

Goblin Aya

"All I need is my fists, at least for right now. I know there must be ways to make my punch stronger but until then I fight with what I was born with"

Huh? Talking to Argos was almost painful for Aya and it certainly wasn’t helping to alleviate her worries. What did he mean by fighting with what he was born with? He did realise he’d been born with a brain as well as his fists right or for that matter that the whole point of having hands in the first place was for manipulating tools?! Also when was the until then that he was referring too? She was trying to present him with that opportunity right now!

Aya had been partway through formulating a second attempt at convincing Argos not to throw their lives away when her sisters approached them and berated Argos for dragging Aya off. It seemed like sister Kir really liked bonking people on the head and while Aya couldn’t exactly say that she hadn’t wanted to do the same when her explanations had fallen flat and been met with a dumb response, it seemed that the bonking hadn’t exactly solved much, given only moments later both siblings in questions were headed the opposite directions in a huff.

How had things fallen apart so quickly? On the one hand, regardless of how her species had made it thus far Aya wanted to be one of the goblins on the surviving side of the equation and to achieve that goal following her sisters was the obvious choice, Lexie had summed things up pretty well with her earlier comment, but at the same time if Aya was right about goblin survivability and her brother had only gotten lucky thus far, wouldn’t it be her fault if she went and let him kill himself? Aya’s already sharp breaths became even shallower as she tried to grapple with the idea. Surely letting someone die would be no different from outright killing them if she didn’t at least try to stop it right?

“You guys shouldn’t be arguing about this! Our best chance at survival is to band together and pool our resources,” Aya maintained her usual smile as she spoke but her voice had become a little wobbly and she could feel herself shaking. After trying and failing to calm herself with some deep breaths Aya moved to face Argos, “Er- brother, I’m going to go with my sisters because I’m afraid of dying and I think that’s my best chance, but I really think you should come with us if you can… If you want to use what you were born with or whatever that’s fine but as far as I can tell the biggest advantages we were born with are our numbers and intelligence rather than our physical strength…” Aya trailed off, unsure of how to continue before simply running back over to her sisters, she doubted she’d gotten through to her brother, but what else could she do?

“I doubt we’ll be able to find anything immediately outside our home, at least not that hasn’t already been hunted or scared away, but should we look for something to make the net with first?” She asked, looking around to see if she could spot anything and trying her hardest to distract herself from the previous. “Vines or something?”
